Haven't heard about the upcoming changes, but anyways, there are a ton of sites and you can always just manually copy the file from your temp folder and I think people will just move on from youtube to other sites.

I was using GrabIt for a minute to grab anime off of AS, but virtually all the players that AS uses return an error of some sort, so I just gave up...

You could just not download from youtube. Even when stuff in running in their "HD" quality it still looks and sounds like ass.

Anyone who thinks that you can protect content viewed online from being permanently saved and played back is really delusional. Of course, if there was a company to be successful at it I'd probably be Google. Still, I'm sure their model is based on some sort of subscription service, which means free (for Google) money.

Wait, they're going to charge to download videos that are put up and viewed for free? That's some real bullshit.

It's funny how Night of Champions looked like ass on youtube but if you actually ran the files with any player from your computer then it was great HD quality. Youtube definitely fucking up.

That's some MegaVideo type of shit they're pulling, I rarely use youtube though because it's low tier imo.

Firefox + DownloadHelper ftw.

I use this set up as well and it's great. Also while you're installing download helper in firefox be sure to pick up the SRK tool bar! found at

For that I believe you can just set your standard sound recorder thing that comes with windows to record from your sound card and then play and record the video.

Have to remember to turn off any programs with pop up noises like msn to do that though.

Also I totaly agree that charging for the user created content is bs.

^ Yeah, with uTorrent, you can just select what songs (out of the album) that you want. You don't have to actually download the whole album, just the torrent that's tracking the entire album...

Have you ever used keepvid.com ? thats what i use f to download vids for the ipod and such, haven't run into any problems yet been using it for almost a year now.

I also found out about vidtomp3.com for songs, only thing you have to do is rename them but it shouldn't be that hard.

Hope these help.

There are still going to be free videos if the user posts them as free to download. I'm a little curious how they split the cost between the user and YouTube, but not curious enough to actually go find out.

Why are people using sites/programs to download from youtube at a slow speed and then you have to download from the site at a slow speed when the viewed youtube video is already stored on your computer and you can just copy it to whatever folder you want and rename it from its current.

If that were the case, how exactly did one YouTube user file DMCA claims against another user who used clips of his videos?

I recall reading an article about how Youtube, although so wildly popular, is not actually making any profit. I mean, how could they? There was hardly even any ads, and soo many people use their bandwidth.
So I'm not surprised they're looking into ways to become profitable.

GoogleVideo had a downloader AND superior quality to Youtube's garbage-looking videos...but of course YT was just too popular, and Google bought it.

Silly ass bitch of a company...we'll still get content for free, and there's not a damn thing they can do about it.

Will allow you to easily download any of the clips, unless there's something integral about their code that they are changing.
