What do you do?

Pretend like you don't have one and look away
let them use it and stay really close to them
Let them use it and who cares hes not gonna run with it
or tell them you have no minutes

This has happened to me a couple times and I want to know what you guys would do, I hate to let other people use my phone for calls because I don't have that many minutes they say " it wont take long " fuck that :(

i have essentially unlimited minutes so i wouldn't care about that aspect, but in general i wouldn't let a stranger use my phone.

I have a shitty Motorola phone. My battery dies fast and I get random reception. When people see my phone I doubt they'll think "This dude is BALLIN".

Hell my phone still has that stupid antenna.

I've let my girlfriend use my phone a few times. It's not really a big deal since the calls are local and she's only using it for a few minutes.

It depends on who it is. If it is someone I know well and their phone died then yeah I'll let them use it real quick. If it is a random stranger, then no never.

I really dont like anyone touching my phone like that. unless maybe its a really hot girl who doesnt look like she is sweating. then I probably wouldn't mind.

i ask myself a series of questions and follow some steps:

1. Is it a man or girl?
2. If man, say it's dead; if girl, is she hot?
3. If she's hot, what do you need it for?
4. "Insert reason" oh, that's happened to me before! Here you go!
5. Strike up conversation, get number

Hot girls only use my phone.

I've asked to borrow someones phone before at a mall. My dad had my cell phone and I was trying to look for him. I couldn't hear anything when I called so I walked away for a bit and was fairly far away from the girl I borrowed the phone from. I realized she probably wasn't comfortable that I was so far away with her phone so I came back, finished the conversation and thanked her.

So I'd imagine I'd be okay with it so long as the person stays nearby while calling.

Wow I don't even let my girl touch my phone. Every time she touches the phone "who this girl", "why did ___ call you", why did ___ text you." I would lose my fucking mind every time. The worst thing is that I have an app on my phone that save all my text messages, and if I delete a text and she later checks online my text and see a difference than on my phone... oh lord. I keep changing the PW for it, but bitch keeps figuring it out.

I don't have a phone, but I've thought about this since I intend to get one. The answer is no. "Why?" "I don't let anyone use my phone."

now, if it is an emergency, I might use my phone FOR them. The only case where I'd give over my phone I can think of is that this person has an emergency and the person they're calling doesn't speak the same languages I speak.

I've randomly walked up to people and asked to use their phones incase my phone was cut off or I couldn't get through, so I'd do the same for them, I've only even been asked incase of an emergency, or that person needed to find someone, so I don't see the harm in that, and they stay right by me anyways, so I could flag them down if they try to take off.

A coworker asked if he could use my phone when I was checking the time and when I told him there's no minutes and no plan on it he just looked at me crazy and shook his head, I'm like seriously, do you want to see it on my screen? and he just walked away. It's not the first time this happened, is it because people use this excuse so much that they think it's BS?

Kind of like what Frozen Wings said. Unfortunately the same thing he said happen to me before after night of partying driving home at 4:00 AM and car break down. Thankfully I had a phone.

I don't have a mobile phone anymore, but even if I did, I'd never let a stranger use it. Got no problem with family/friends tho. Running out of minutes has never been a problem for me as I don't talk on the phone much. Even on a 500 minute plan, I'd use like 100-150 minutes out of the month. sometimes less. I just don't talk on the phone that much.

oh, I let some lady borrow it to call 911 at the bank once. Her drunken boyfriend/husband came in demanding money for cigarettes. She said she was getting it and to be patient, he replied with a stream of obscenities. He left the bank and came back in with the hood ornament to her benz and slammed in on the desk. I was trying my hardest not to laugh the whole time.

That's not true, I'm pretty sure I was openly snickering.

This has happened to me a bunch of times. All in the same place too. There is a mini ramp underneath an intersection of bridges that I frequently skate. Not only a lot of roads intersect there but the paths for sketchy drunks and bums all cross there.

In short I just let them use it because I know a handful of dudes who've had knives pulled on them. Simply for "mad-dogging," just being there, and not letting some grease ball use their phone.
