I know SB4 is this weekend but I've always talked about Quake and the game I grew up with, I urge you guys our this tournament and watch the stream. There will be a high 700kpbs stream provided for the tournament with EVERY SINGLE MATCH of the entire tournament streamed. It will feature a 16-man 1v1 invitational Quake Live tournament in Dubai for $6,500, part of the Gitex Shopper & Consumer Electronics Expo. The tournament is part of the Electronic Sports League which is now running the Intel Extreme Masters Season 4. Dubai is one of the many qualifiers along the route to the finals (includes LAN events and winners from North America, Europe, and Asia).

Matches are played in a best of three matchup, with five total maps, 10 minutes per game. Each player removes a map from the maplist, and then chooses their home map, and those three maps are played. In the bracket stage (the final eight), matches switch to a best of five.

An American by the name of Shane "rapha" Hendrixon has won the last two major tournaments in the past month, and is looking to make it his third straight victory. He faces stiff competition from all around the world, both legends of the game and newcomers.

Prizes:

Q3 used to be my shiz back in the day. was absolutely addicted to it. still play quake live occasionally but nothing compared to those days. been so many years and quake still hasn't been dethroned. I bet quakelive was the result of iD realizing they'd never make a better game than Q3.

Do I see Cypher's name in there? Oh shit, Stermy. I'm going to try to watch this, if I'm not too busy.
Even though I've only been playing FFA matches.

Def. try to catch a little of this, but I'll be busy as hell this weekend. I remember catching another QL stream recently, forgot what it was but they were playing CA and wheat was commenting.

Octoshape is fine man, I'm absolutely sure it has no malware. It's a small install and well worth it once you see the quality of stream that results in using it.

The one problem with it, though many other programs do this, is that it will set itself to run on start up of your computer. You can disable that easily in msconfig though.

EDIT: You can disable it from the tasktray icon as well, heh.
