Didn't think he used Dan :( When I looked at the results he used Ryu, Akuma and one other (Cammy perhaps) but didn't see Dan :(

SB4 was too serious of a tournament for Sanford to be lolly gagging with Dan. I didn't see him run Danford all weekend while I was there either. I mean the reason why he picks Dan in the first place...oh man. :lol:

He beat Yeb's Gen at Bar Fights II the week before with Dan. Wouldn't mind seeing that, but haven't seen anything on Youtube though.

Yeah these have been posted before. The matches against Bison were good but it against Gief it was a bit boring.

That must have been such a hard matchup for gief to fight dan./sarcasm Did he really have to pick gief?I mean i saw that he was loosing with bison,but to pick gief?BTW can SPD punish only hard kick and EX danku or mediums too?I know LK one is 0 so no chance.

MK Dankuu has same recovery as HK, so if you see a Dankuu that isn't LK (easy enough to spot) you can just start waggling that stick continuously and mashing away and you'll get an SPD easy.

To reversal EX you'd have to be fast and on the ball (and doesn't work from "max" range) but I guess all the "pro" Zangiefs are able to whack out an SPD just like that :(

Man I want to see Sanford's Dan in that East vs West tourny or whatever it was... heck I want to see that tourny period :P

You mean Bar Fights 2? there's a torrent of the main event on http://gootecks.com/

But no Danford. He used him later on in the night in exhibition matches I think. There is gonna be a DVD with everything. Guess we'll have to wait for that.

I'm guessing that he doesn't/didn't know the match-up. But he did figure things out pretty early.

And against Gief, it's gonna be boring. Dan can't do his usual offensive guessing games at all because SPD beats everything and any any other guessing game the damage is unbelievably in 'Gief's favor if he guesses right as opposed to if you guess right. The whole fight on Dan's end is just s.mk and gadou (if gief has no ex bar) for spacing, KRKs on jump-ins, occasional lk danku and air lk danku if he's feeling lucky, and punishing any ill-thrown green hands. And he played the matchup perfectly. I thought it was entertaining just because it's such a tense uphill battle for Dan and he won a few matches.

Think he probably knew about the SPD on blocked Dankuu but wasn't sure if his opponent did so he tested the water a couple of times and didn't pay off :(

Gief's s.MP seems to beat everything Dan does :( Even trades with Gadoukens at range because of the stupid hit boxes >.<

I could definitely have my shit wrong. I don't pay much attention to tourneys outside of my local area. But I was told that he broke out Dan at SB. Maybe it was for exhibition.

Yeah I believe he only broke out Dan during casuals. He would have never been crazy enough to break out Dan against the same people who helped him demolish at Barfail 2.

Granted i can't make every tourne, I've been maining Dan in every tournement I've gone to so far in the passed few months (2-4), and i'll be playing him at Castle Fight Night III this weekend. I am by no means the best Dan player on this board, but I do my best to represent the Saikyo Style. Hoping to see if i can play against Sanford's Dan while im there, ( b ' ')b.

Lol We're all serious Dan players except me, which my time is divided between his student, but that's the only thing stopping me!

Either way, I know there has to be someone out there to step up to the plate, since Kelly said to play high tier in one of his vids.

Blasphemy! There is no stronger force than Saikyo, that's why it's called "Saikyo" after all, "the strongest style", makes sense :P
