Lexy 1st - Lexury

Premiering as YG's first and most famous lady rapper, 25-year-old "Lexxxxaaaayyy", also known as Hwang Hyo Sook, has already been the source of turning heads with her eye-candy, catchy honey-sweet image. Rumored to be comparable to artists such as Tasha, Lil Kim and Missy Elliot, Lexy's album surpasses many expectations that critics have set prior to her album debut. Yet despite the popular comparisons, even the most appreciated gasoos have a rough time being honored for their talents by the masses. Does she still stand a chance out in the fierce competition of rivaling gayo artists?

Although this is only her first album, she proves herself as anything but a "novice" to the music industry. Making her debut as an artist approximately six years ago at the age of 19, Lexy's letting the world know that female rapping isn't just a "hot flash in the pot" or a supposed kind of new fad.

Rather, flirting between the lines of R&B, hip hop and pop with her applauding female vibe in rapping, she's making sure that the Korean music industry has just enough room to squeeze in the name "Lexy" on to the top of the music charts. Thus, proving that she's not depending her fame and boost of popularity on only a boast-worthy, sexy and seductive appearance. But rather, it's based on the talent that YG has labored so hard to promote during her earlier days.

At long last, Lexy's much anticipated album is completed and makes a successful premier out to a large crowd of gayo listeners with half of her tracks featuring favorable guest appearances from YG including Psy, Big Mama, Jinu, Wheesung, Teddy and Danny from 1TYM and many others. With seventeen songs on the playlist, Lexy strives to make each track different in voice and sound from the previous one before. "For all seventeen songs, my voice changes, and the mood is different. I want to show every side of my persona, from cute, to serious, to sexy."

01 - Lextro
When asked, Hwang Hyo Sook explains that her stage name as well as the title of her album comes from combining the words "luxury" and "sexy" together. Kicking off her first track with an introduction, Lexy uses a play on words combining "Lexy" and "intro" to create a prelude well worth remembering. This track starts off with a techno background and a deep male voice that heightens as the progression of the piece gets closer to its climax. Although short in time, this smooth intro contains enough moments to give the piece an incredibly catchy and rhythmic flow to it. Thus, providing ample amounts of hints to the listeners on the style of the rest of her album. I don't blame you if you keep pressing the "back" button in order listen to this track over and over. It's well worth its 44-seconds of limelight.

02 - I Swear - Maeng Sae
Lexy chooses an impressive song to begin her sea of notable and exemplary soundtracks. Starting off her album, is none other than a fair tempoed, bob head worthy tune. Featuring Wheesung's prestigious rapping, this track covers worthy points in the rapping genre as well as hip hop and R&B. The addicting melody of this piece is one that will most likely be remembered as one of Lexy's best tracks. Something I personally, would recommend putting on while out on a drive by yourself at night. Relaxing and thoroughly refreshing, this song has got it all. Way to go Lexy!

03 - Get Away From Me - Nae Gae Suh Buht Uh Na
Beginning this track is Lexy's deep, raspy, yet mature voice singing a few lines that slowly evolve into her impressive rapping skills. She touches base on both types of music combining them together to create an adequately slow paced piece starring Big Mama's powerful, long holding vocals. To say the least, this song is memorable. But depending on your style and preference in music, some may find "Nae Gae Suh Buht Uh Na" potentially addictive while others may simply brush it off as a "good-but-not-quite-there-yet" track.

04 - Up and Down
Incredibly dance-y type beats with a combination of Lexy's husky and airy vocal cords grace the presence of this song. Towards the end of the track, the melody becomes more forceful with each strong, continuum beat reaching to its maximum ending. The song, overall, sends off a happy and cheerful sort of vibe accompanied by an '80s flow to it, which is sure to make you feel "up" when you're "down". As the last few seconds of the song conclude, a male voice begins speaking in fluent Korean with a sort of soothing news reporter tone. A bit awkward at first, and although, I'm incapable of understanding it, I have to admit it does add a nice surprise and a pleasant touch to the ending.

05 - Let Me Dance
With catchy background music along with Lexy's alto soprano vocals, the majority of "Let Me Dance" is a chance to give the listeners more of an opportunity to experience Lexy's breathy singing rather than just her prominent rapping. However, the rapping part of this piece is not at loss. Rather, the fluency is dominated by none other than suave and charismatic Teddy from the popular group 1TYM. The recycled beats and the melody in general sound a bit reused from her previous tracks and the song overall seems fairly predictable in style and in tune. But despite that, it is still worth the listen as Lexy combines her captivating sexy and cute images together to produce this dance-worthy piece.

06 - Novice - Ae Song Yee
By far Lexy's most dynamic, energizing and most memorably produced track on the playlist, it's no wonder she chose this as her debut title. "Novice" gives a chance to lightly experience Lexy's appealing rapping accompanied by her vocally powerful composition in music style and fashion. Her lyrical correspondence with Psy produces a smooth and long lasting impression on this distinguishable piece. There's not much else I could say, the title track truly speaks for itself. Each beat, moment and note sung in this three minute fifty-one second clip is worth listening to. A song fit for any occasion and a very well deserved two thumbs up.

07 - Cleopatra - Kuhl Reh O Pa Teu La
Giving a chance for her listeners to experience difference and variety in this album comes track number seven. Instead of the flowing, smooth lyrics and melodies that the audience is probably used to by now, "Cleopatra" is full of jerky, and sudden strong beats of Lexy strutting her stuff. Favorable beginning instrumentals grace the first thirty seconds of its fame and although dissimilar from her previous tracks, it is, by far, not one that should be reminisced as a negative or disappointing alternation.

08 - I'll Forget For You - Eejuh Joo Kkeh
Don't let the slow strings of violins and cellos fool you at the introduction of this piece, this isn't a ballad. Lexy starts off with her now renown singing and demonstrates her capability in hitting high notes and venturing into more malodorous octaves in this track. She does not extend out her airy notes so that they possess a long and strong holding, therefore, this song sends off a delicate kind of feel to her listeners. A plus to the male fans may be her exceptionally favorable seductive breathing that she also incorporates into her stanzas. Not strikingly memorable, but not a bad track either.

09 - Lexylude
The interlude on this album serves as a thirty-second interval where Lexy can show off what she does best: rap. With the same techno music in the background as her intro, she flaunts her talent and skills by matching its fast pace beats equally with her rapping fluency. It's a nice break between songs that ends with another "Lexxxxaaaayyy" bang!

10 - Move
Attempting to follow up with a little more variety in her album, Lexy tries to compose a hardcore type of song to add to the growing tracklist. The first few lines personally remind me of Ludacris's "Move (Get Out the Way)" and the chorus is one capable of being stuck in your head often. But nothing about the rest of the track stands out to an exceptional scale. Occasionally, inserts of unnecessarily added stanzas and lines are heard, making the track uneven and seemingly choppy. It's not necessarily a musical disaster, but Lexy's image as well as her voice range and style don't quite suit the punk rock approach and comes out looking, and sounding, like an effortless piece thrown together at the last few minutes. Nice try, but no.

11 - Girls
"Girls. Girls, girls, girls. Girls. Girls, girls, girls. All night long."
To begin with, what little English lyrics there were in this song weren't attractively written and they obviously didn't take a musical genius to throw together. The piece itself, attempts at a deep base, trance and techno kind of feel to it, but rather, the often repeated lyrics only become gradually annoying and give off a sense of them being thoroughly boring and much too overused. In general, the overall album could've done just fine without this track on the playlist. So why is it there again?

12 - Tomboy
In truth, the only word I could use to describe this song is "weird". Lexy tries to bring out an even more '80s type of sensation to this track than "Up and Down". First off, neither the background music nor the lyrics suit her sexy and suave magnetic image and personality. In fact, nothing about "Tomboy" fits under the "Lexy Category" at all. If you favor the rock genre about two decades ago, this may be the song for you. However, those who were actually hoping for something from this famous female rap queen should just press the "Next" button and move on.

13 - Baby Come On
A nice blend of rap, R&B and a touch of soul, this track was actually on guest rapper, Perry's album approximately three years ago. But this time, with a combination of Lexy's agreeable and steady flow in rap, the song is seemingly fresher than the one released before. The track contains an average melody with nothing extraordinarily special and the listener doesn't have much of an opportunity to experience any more of Lexy's singing, which in turn makes the overall average track, well, average.

14 - Get Out - Ppa Jyuh Na Wan
For some unusual reason, the chorus of this piece sounds oddly familiar, as if I've heard it before. So I get the impression that similar beats in this track may have been used in previous songs. In fact, it unmistakably reminds me of track number five, "Let Me Dance". [Although this may be because I've been listening to this song 24/7 trying to determine what to write.] Even though it's practically inconsequential to point out, the first five seconds into this piece reminds me of a Mario adventure game. In general, "Get Out" has a fairly nice beat with moderate sounding vocals but improvements within the melody could've been made. It's really unnecessary to have two songs on the same album sounding almost alike.

15 - I Love You - Nuh Reul Sarang Hae
An innocent sounding voice accompanied by a charmingly perky mental image. It's a bit unexpected from Lexy, but not a bad addition to the rest of her compilation. She doesn't lose her rapping touch though; there are a few stanzas where she makes a comeback in her creamy sleek rapping and free verses a bit with the music. The continually repeated "sarang hae"s may get to you after awhile if they haven't already. But an overall happy and carefree touch to album list.

16 - Real Love
Playful, giddy, flirtatious, light and cheerful. The antagonist to her title track, "Novice" comes a piece containing a teasing melody that concludes the near end of this album with an optimistic touch. Completely opposite from most of her sexy sort of songs, this rap-less one could be well classified under the cutesy bubblegum pop category. Depending on your style, you may or may not take this song to a liking. I do not, however, recommend you listen to this piece if you are not in a happy mood. It would end up sounding much too sickeningly sweet for you.

17 - Outro
The first fifteen seconds of this one minute four second outro sound like something coming from a melodramatic war movie. It then gracefully evolves into the same techno beat as the one that enhanced her intro and interlude along with an escorted background trance effect to leave a long lasting, mature and sophisticated impression. Props to Lexy and a well compiled album.

The entire album calculates to a total of fifty-three minutes worth of Lexy's crowd-pleasing and talented singing and rapping skills. She also proves that she is capable of doing more than what she is known to do: rap. However, depending on your preference, the audience may be disappointed that 90% of her album features her vocalizing rather than showing off her popular and demanding rap abilities. Also, if any listeners were expecting long-lasting ballads, this compilation does not have it, if any at all. But other than the slight downer in those two categories, this album deserves a chance to shine among the cluster of favorable gayo artists. With market-favorable looks and talent in two prized areas, Lexy's hefty collection of songs should truly be considered "Lexurious".

If you are, like in your website, really searching to compete with the greatest players in the world, it wouldn't be a bad idea to look into this and try it out. By telling everyone that the only way you will play them is by going to your tourney, that limits your competition... and you're motivated by playing the best players in the world, aren't you? This would be one of many possible ways to do that, and even better, you can play from the comfort of your own home.

Seriously, man, I'm playing on cable in Hawaii, and I can play friends in Germany, Korea, and people from the EC with no lag at all. This is while I download porn, too. Just try it out before you say you won't do it... and then play against fatherbrain. Wow that's my futon. The frame is exactly the same and the cushion too. Dude that's freaky.

Yeah, it's pretty comfortable to lay down on when it's couch form, but I've never tried how well it is when unfolded into a bed. Still, I prefer my bed. It's king sized and has pretty good springs, making it firm yet not too hard.

Comfortable and cheap. A futon is really good if you live in a temporary studio or small apartment. Probably good for a dorm too I think.

Boneless Buffalo Wings? I find them perfect for a cheap, quick, tasty supper. I usually eat them with Ranch and/or BBQ. I never tried Blue Cheese but it sounds delicious on the contrary to it's name. I can't say the same for horseradish though. It's got a terrible aftertaste.

By the way: I just got KoF 3D (MI) and the game looks like a fusion of KoF and Tekken (it´s amazing diferent from any KoF game and you can make combos just like Tekken or some like KoF)

Also I always felt the Califonia Roll was like the yuppi sushi, kinda like for people who don't actually want to eat raw fish (diced crab meat and mayonaise don't count) but want wanna be able to say they eat something "exotic" like sushi. Yeah, California rolls are kinda low tier. They're like the introductory sushi since their taste doesn't come out and smack you in the face. For your first try at real sushi with raw fish, give a tuna roll a go. That'll give you an idea of what sushi is supposed to taste like.

Alpha 2 (the game so bad it makes your eyes bleed)
CvS (do I need to make any other comment?)
KOF 98 & 00 (like wtf?)
Tekken 4 (where's Tag?)
HSF2 AE (possibly the only acceptable title in his list up)

He may add Fighting Evolution/Jam but thats a long shot off.
The thing that worries me is that the people of Portugal who go to this "tournament" don't mind playing these games. Well he only did get 33 entrants.

Yeah,Fresh Water Eel is Unagi. I had some of that at the Sushi place at Evo and I also had it at this one place called "Sushi Fever" down here in Vegas.

They have this plate called Sakura Special. I have yet to try it,but it sounds really good. They have Tempura,Udon Soup and lots and lots of sushi. I wish they have sushi delivered...I'd want that right about now...

It's an.....acquired taste. Which is funny because I can down sushi like the locals do. =/ But okonomiyaki is all about the sauce, don't bother too much with the extra meats or anything else(unless they have good fucking Yakisoba, then Yakisoba that shit down), if their sauce sucks, then there's no reason to eat the 'yaki.

And whoever tries to tell you it's the Japanese equivalent to pizza, smack them. HARD.

I've heard of a specific Anime Con-goer who makes a mean 'yaki, almost good enough to be Japanese. You might see her at certain cons in the Mid-west IIRC.

That is for sure, I do what I enjoy most and no matter what I will continue with my work, when I first started I was alone, now things are amazing diferent with our small and friendly members comunity growning every day at akumacombos and releasing better combo vids, plus: now that I got first place in 2 games from the first national 2D&3D Fighting game tournament in Portugal: I just got more motivation than ever because every time that I look for the 1st place trophies I get a HUGE smile in my face :D (feels great to be number one in something that we love)
The good side from the retarded haters it´s that they make free bumps and publicity for our combo and tournament site.

And on A3, what looks like the DC version, he forgot to turn recovery on. Big no no. If it was done on emulator, then that might be a reason why no safe fall. But if this was from something that allows safe falls to be turned on, then it looks like he doesn't really know shit from A3.

Hello, Im new to shoryuken.com and I hope to enjoy my stay here at these forums. Let me start off my first post by saying:

What is the matter with you guys?? Why are you flaming akuma? There must be some reason I have not seen yet because I have read through the first 20 pages of this topic and it is absolutely without purpose. If there is some good reason for the flames can you please inform me because I don't understand?

The guy comes on here and posts a link to his site and videos and you flame him. Is somebody holding a gun to your head telling you to download his videos? No. If you don't like his shit then tell him so but don't flame him over it.

All I keep seeing is, record match videos, record match videos... What the fuck, is this a request line? If the guy doesn't want to record match videos then he doesn't have to. I have not seen him post that he is the god of street fighter... If he is only willing to record competition then that is his right, if you want to see his videos then go to portugal and fight him. If you won't go to him, why should he go to you? It's the exact same distance for you to go to him as it is for him to go to you and you guys have the will to play him so if you want him to record videos then get off your ass and go play him.

As for the raging demon on magnus, it may not happen in real matches but I hate to break it to you people, 99% of the shit you see in combo videos will never EVER happen in a real match. People don't stop in the heat of battle to do a 50 hit combo.

Nobody should try to tell akuma to stop producing videos. You simply have no right, akuma has just as much right to produce videos as you do. Another good idea would be to stop comparing your shit to his, everybody is at different levels, just because one's video is better than the other doesn't mean the other person should not be allowed to produce. If you ask me akuma's not wanting to record match videos on kaillera is very reasonable. Why should he record a video where he has an obvious huge disadvantage. I Have played on kaillera with 50 ping vs. a player with 150 ping and the game lagged so badly it was unplayable. His ping made it so that I could not even block and random disconnects occured.

Where has sawada come in on this? He has done nothing wrong yet you guys flame him, hell, I bet you all even flame me after you see this post even though none of you know me but I don't give a shit. Well Iceman MAIN reason he left is because People @ a major tournament (don't remember) told him that he's better than that and just quit so he did. In fact, after he quit he made this glitch video in MVC, HUGE fucking improvement :tup: better than all of MA's combo videos put together.

Like most people knows we (akumacombos.com) will have on summer 2005 the EFT (fighting game tournament) and it seems that CvS2 will take place and kick CvS1 out.. (after the votes from all the forums were I posted a poll to vote everyone wants CvS2 to replace CvS1)
This time we will have a 2 day tournament (that´s what I´m working on with some people) and the first day will be for single player format, we don´t have the format for 2nd done yet but most likely will be team format. There´s still plany of time until summer of next year, if we have more news about this subject I will post it here.., btw: I will try to win again first place(s) like I did this year on SF Alpha 2 :bgrin:

Hmm...not trying to be an ass or anything SNAAAAKE, but that Makoto combo takes a quite a bit of skill to do consistently.

No only you have to learn the execution for the kara fukiage perfectly (you must delay the RH->kara as much as possible) but the timing to connect both fukiages varies accordingly to the opponent's character quite a bit (this rule applies to almost any kind of combo but it's much more specific for Makoto's 100% stun). Also the dash/cancel after the first fukiage must be as fast as possible.

Although that combo is not really hard once you get used to it, it cannot be compared with Magneto tempest combo (which not only is quite easy but also mashable).

Ok, making fun of him for "Supposibly bashing other peoples videos and not accepting a challenge himself" is one thing but turning to his age and appearance is another. I don't know if you realize it or not but your maturity level is going down with every post you make and you are only making yourself look worse and worse.

When I first entered this thread I saw a bunch of haters flaming akuma because his stuff was not quite up to par compared to some of the other videos floating around on the net. After I have seen your douche of the week article on master akuma I have realized, what he has done was wrong. The whole bashing on other peoples stuff, that's seriously not cool even if you are better, but it's even worse if you aren't willing to prove your better.

I thought you guys were taking this way too far from the beginning with all the lame jokes such as "Homer Simpson" and making fun of his age, etc. None of that has anything to do with the matter at hand. As far as about 90 of the pages of flames here to master akuma goes you people need to shut the fuck up because most of you don't have a site, videos or have ever played in a match video or tournament to prove you are any better. I see people like iceman talking shit but we all know the quality of their videos, if they have any videos at all.

It's amazing how many of you people are followers on this board. You should stop to think about the matter before you post about it. It's easy to just hate on akuma because everybody else is doing it. This has gone beyond being angry at master akuma for bashing on other videos (which I think was wrong too if he did it) and has now turned into a personal attack.

I don't know about everybody else, but if you ask me Infested Jester's actions are immature. Let's see how he has handled this:

The rest of us (the ones who aren't jumping to defend him left right and center) don't like him because of his videos, the way he pissed around with Gunter and the way he never listens to people (unless you're saying his videos are god like - which in truth they ain't).

I guess people only hate on him more (about his vids not him personally) is because he hasn't produced anything new or good, they are pretty much the same thing. Endless people have told him to try new and better stuff, but each time someone has posted some C&C he's thrown it back in their faces.
