you need to play alot of mindgame wiht blanka

his best is b, f+K this is a ball rolling move, sometimes it crosses up and sometimes it oes not, practice using it a lot and u can make yur opponents confused and win with it

also do crossup medium kick, then slide (df+hp) because you have to block the crossup high and the wrong way, and then the slide you need to block it low, no one can be smart neough to block both

Haha since he admits he can't use him and wants to learn there's no reason to give advice like that. I though there would be a more detailed thread for Blanka, but i guess not. I don't use him too seriously but abuse his cr fierce but not too close. His anti-air is j fp, his crossup is j mk, which is good when you buffer into electricity. If your groove has it abuse short jumps, don't just jump in and then sweep and don't overdo the blanka balls. His slide is good from the appropriate range as is his sweep. I'll let other people add more because i know he has other very good normals that I haven't mentioned or don't use. Oh and his command hops are good

I just think if you can't pick up Blanka in 10 minutes by watching other people play, then you're not cut out for CvS2 anyway :) He's not like Sagat where it's not as easy as it seems. With Blanka, what you get is... what you get.

set the forums for showing all threads from the beginning (at the bottom) instead of just 30 days. then you'll get the old blanka threads, especially kcxj's EXCELLENT guide for newbie/intermediate blanka's.

Just so everybody knows, the thread I wrote about Blanka is REALLY out of date. I missed out on a lot of new basic strategy and offensive setups that every player needs to know now if they want to play at a competive level (how to attack with Blanka from the air for example).

Some of the character matchup descrpitions are just plain wrong too. Any groove Blanka can beat Sagat with just d.HP alone for example. I'm telling people to use s.MP instead (which is stupid). Blanka can counter Hibiki generally with no problem by just using d.HK too. I didn't even know about that until a better player taught me the matchup.

RC's are not as godly as I made them out to be. I hardly even use RC with Blanka when I play CvS2 now.

The vs. Vega section (which should be critical to any CvS2 character guide) is totally wrong and the vs. Bison section is completely non-existant for some reason (I didn't know how to fight against him back then).

CvS2 has changed a lot since like the 8 months ago or whenever I wrote that thing. It needs a lot of updating or even a total revision if I still want people to become good players reading it.

Check it out, but keep in mind it's really old that's all. Don't expect to become a tournament player overnight by following it word for word, as a lot of it is now bad/useless advice given the way CvS2 is now played.

Definate thanks for the compliments though, whoever enjoyed reading it when it still might of been pretty useful (last year...lol).

I've won some matches just doing low jump MP, back hop with blanka. That's a good move.

yea kcxj, some of your vs. (random character) stuff is kinda off, but your combo advice is REALLY useful and never changes.

Kcxj say it best when playing with blanka. "Patience" IMo if you are one of those players that love to mash on buttons then i feel Blanka is not for you. After reading Kcxj guild and adding a few things my self i can honestly say my blanka is sick. I think when you use RC moves you should decide on which versions to use I.E. RC jab roll ball or RC jab Electricity. I prefer the jab versions myself but, look at this blanka's main game is not to RC much. Try to piss his opponent off the best he can.

Mostly everyone has sad his mindgames are insane. Blanka must be played very smart very little error. I would say to learn his pokes and the ranges. S.Mp is very good for poking or meatys IMO. Learn his Hop and his F,F if im not mistaken the difference are the F,F blanka makes no noise and the F+KKK he grunts but im not to sure.

Unless you're playing K-Blanka... then you just run and randomly jump alot all while mashing on the buttons with your palm. After you get the free super, keep shaking the stick really hard until it comes out. Proceed to win at shitty east coast tournies ...

one thing that made my blanka ALOT better was gaining the patience to do downforward H.P. as an anti air. Unless ur playing k groove or P its a great move that works esspecially against sagat or any character that doesnt jump very far. (even against P and K its hard to read).

I like to put on pressure with blanka. c.jab c.short c.forward for poke strings. I do a lot of that since I can't RC electricity for meter. I do c.shortx2 c.forward too. anything to put on pressure. I like crouching strings b/c you can do delayed RC.hp blanka ball after they stop blocking. It's like the only RC I can do lol. Most try to hit Blanka and he blows through and hits. I just have to remember not to do it too often. It's cool for a change of pace I think.

The only problem I have with blanka is his CC is HARD. I try to play him in A. Corner CC is pretty easy, But mid screen CC is hard, b/c that jungle hop always messes me up.

Oh well I'll just stop talking now since mostly all of that is probably wrong lol. See ya.

Just camp it out in the corner, thats what all blanka players do. I usually end up breaking their defense and force them to block by doing zoning attacks.

make sure you charged back enough, then push fierce and hold it down, do the motion for the super, and then let go of fierce

so it's kinda like this

down-back (charge), fierce (hold it down), forward, back, forward (and let go of fierce)

the crouching fierce into super doesn't combo in ALL distances.. u need to be pretty close to the opponent... if u wanna punish whiffs, i'd recommend u just use crouching strong into super
