It can go up that high, not every place sells it dirt cheap for 250. Microsoft is in the business of getting their shit into every home on earth, so they make it affordable. Adobe makes their shit for professionals, so they can charge 700 bucks for it. But believe it or not QuarkXpress costs more than Photoshop.

That really doesn't matter tough. :p The main reason why I say this was an accomplishment is because I didn't know how to do shit with ps7. I didn't know how to resize, edit, or anything. I figured out how to resize then how to change canvas sizes, then I learned how to place [copy] pictures to another area. So for me this felt like a step up. Sorry if it didn't meet your standards, I am still learning the basics right now. But it's still cool with me. Do you get where I am coming from now? :)

i'm using imageready just to let u know

all I did was find a font that look big enough then I rasterized it making the text a image, after that get the image or sprite u are going to use and just sit on top of the letters and cut away at the parts out side of the letters. don't know if I can explain it any better hoped that helped

Mas: thanks dude, but please allow me to give you a quick word of advice since you are "in training"...concentrate on non-animated work first, that way you can learn design and colors and just get to know your way around ps....then, once you see you can do pretty good static stuff, move on the animated avs and tags. i was right where you were about 5 months ago, i would take a sprite and put it on a background i made. its a good start, but you want the work to look blended, like everything was designed to be the way you made it. Right now your avs look like one animation heaped upon another, which is not bad, but not very hard and awe-inspiring. please take this as constructive criticism and keep at it, im sure in a few weeks you will see a great improvement.

Thanks for the Advice nro. I will do more static pieces now. I wanna know how a lot of you make more intresting backrounds. What tools do you guys use? Like your current av, how do you blend it so well and lighten some parts like what seems nothing. Soon enough I will figure it all out but any help you can give me on backrounds and approaches you can tell me that will make my static work look good, please go on ahead. I still have trouble taking parts of pictures over, I end up taking the whole piece over (backround and all) when all I want is the body. Confusing it is, but I am trying my best to learn it. :)

Well my current avatar is a static piece I did. As you can see, their is a lot of things I need to learn on how to do. I can't blend that well, and I need help with more backround ideas. Mas: much better, ok most people do backgrounds by using just a bunch of different effects that they know. go to www.totaltutorials.com and look at the photshop section, there are links to the basic photoshop stuff as well as links to cool lil effects you can do to spruce up your work or make a background. as for your current av, might i suggest moving cammt over to the left side, because her hand the cut in the picture. then, move your name to the right. that would look better IMO

Dark Evil: i like the effects in your avs a lot, my only complaint is they look really empty in some areas...IMO you should add some stuff to the blank areas where it is just background to make the av look more full.

Oh boy, this one took me sometime. an on and off project, for a challenge. flash vectored, will be turned into a wall, but the wall will be a WIP only, my ispiration and creativity is currently blah. All i know is, if the submit my current WIP wall for Pope's contest, it will bomb. i need some ideas, but this accomplishment is enough for me to be satisfied. making him into a wall feels like i've saturated it. so I'm either going: A) intend on submitting it plain like this but 800x600, or B.) nothing @ all (unless someone can help).

Is there anyone who will rise above this norm of avatar making? I've been gone for over a month, and when i come back i have found nothing but the same work....From everyone :mad: My photoshop is fucked so i can't do anything about it. But kairi...bloodia...c'mon bros! Lead the tagging in a new direction.

Haha you must have misread my statement. I was pointing out that everyone has jumped on the groovy shiny, bright, rayish bandwagon. (including myself at one time as you can see in my av)...this has been going for at least 3 months? Maybe more I don't wanna push it. But don't you think it's time to break away from the norm of the bandwagon avatar making? New styles, Crisp looks, breath taking colors....this is what i miss :(

when Capcom pumps out another decent fighting game, then you'll see new things. As of right now, SvC is utter crap and nothing new has spawned up (besides matrimelee). Animated Team avs is the only direction in which we will expand the actual design process, without all this trend garbage. But alas, no one wants to do team avs.

new layer. click select then all, then edit, then click stroke. set it to 1px and the color u want it to be.
