They are ok but they rely on Assist...and thats not really my thing with Cable.

Cable is one of my all time favorites I was happy they put him in the game including the fact as a child I was raised on X-Men, X-Force, X-Factor, Wolverine, Cable, Spider-Man etc. but I got quite a few combos of my own I made the other day wit' em

some1 said that they're ok, but require an assist...
well, i never mentioned anything that needs an assist as an initial hit. sure i mentioned some OTG's but that's ok. all the combos connect.
my thing with cable is unlike the norm... i play hard rushdown with cable, similar to from what i've heard sanford kelly plays. i actually want to get to CF within a few weeks, and play his cable 1 on 1, to see how my cable rush stands up to his...
if u can learn to use his tknades and such, cable's rush is incredible. it's alot more technical than trijumps, since he has none. but cable can rush really good IMHO
now... some more combos i'm werkin on..... since the others got old...
Ironman assist....
-j.hk, call ironman, lk, lk, ironman lifts them up, dash under, c.hp xx AHVB
-nade over them (to keep them from jumping), dash, clk, call ironman, j.hk(really fast hk, cuz 90% they'll block the clk) IM hits, nade, fall into command throw
^^ this wont really work in a fight... but it's a cool combo
-j.hk, lk, lk, timewarp, throw nade at about 10 hits into TW, fall into c.hk (juggle), command throw
-(when they're last)j.hk, lk, lk, timewarp, throw nade at about 10 hits into TW, fall into snapback, dash, s.hp (don't shoot), xx ahvb

the best combos are:
crouching kick (x2), standing roundhouse, wait a second, Super Jump to triple AHVB. 90-150 hits ( 50- 90 percent damage)
time flip, wait until the gunshots and throw a time grenade, triple AHVB. (40-89 percent damage) 60-100 hits
crouching punch (x2),psy xx to triple AHVB. (50-90 percent damage)50-100 hits
those do a TON of damage.

I just came up with this one the other day:
jump in HK, lp, lk, hk+psy (aaa), lk grenade, jump in hk~AHVB
P.S. If you delay the grenade just a tab, the opp will be stunned on ground and can followup with Time Flip, crossover HK, lp, lk , pause, lp, lk, hk~ahvb

I'm alittle skeptical as to what characters you've played using a rushdown cable.....cuz these days i have never met a good rushdown cable especially one that can takeon a pixie character, or even an offensive sentinel. I was wondering if you could elaborate.

I don't think so. If you're playing any of the two cable teams people use nowadays (row and scrub) : (jump hk),lk, mk, hk + assist, AHVB x 3 takes 100%. That is the combo everybody uses

looks cool cuz the opponent is so high in the air when you do the hvb.
I got another....but its not partical at all...and I've only done it like 1 out of like 100 tries. its s.lp s.lp j.lp j.lk j.lp j.lk lk gernade ( I rarely get the gernade to connect, it depends on the position of the lk) then qcf +hp , hvb.....it works but don't expect to get it anytime soon. its really impractical.

it works on solos.. not runaways, so storm will still bitch cable up.
basis of the trap works with the new team that i've adopted. team soo, i think...

j.hk, with psy, tk nades xx vb before u land, work good for this, as well as holding down with hp x4, call psy, scimiatars. 95% if not more, of this rushdown style with cable requires incredible grenade placement. this is a reason why it works so well on sentinal. he can't stand there, cuz cable's range will hit him with everything. if he starts to fly, he'll have to try to abuse cable while avoiding grenades, beams, and psylocke xx ahvb.
sent's ground assist works well with this as well..
since cable has no air dashing, he's very hard to rushdown with, and considering he's not exactly the fastest character in the game, he's definitely alot harder to do it with. this is where the grenades, and sent drones come in. they keep them down, and set up confusing situations, where the opponent will have to think twice about jumping, cuz there's a stream of grenades floating over them at random points, but well thought out points (throwing random attacks obviously doesn't help any, but will seem random if done in seperation). if u do them in sequence, and always using the same type of nade, they will become predictable, and escapable with ease. when pushed, cable has TKlpviperbeam, and tkHKnades to work with so they don't fly up, sent's drones come back in, and you're back to rushing...
the primary moves to cable's rush...
-tk nades (lk, and hk)
-standing nades when in close hk mainly
-an assist that doesn't throw them high or off screen (example: storm variety, sent drones, psylocke, cyclops, ironman. NOT CAPCOM)
-tk viperbeams (lp mainly, hp if it's guaranteed and you're gonig to cancel to AHVB.
-at least 10 setups for AHVB using the assist that you made, and solo.. i have about 35 setups total for AVHB using any assist that i normally use that are effective in fights.
setups that are effective:
clk, clk, shk, ahvb
hp x 4, scim xx ahvb
clk, clk, psy, ahvb
(corner)clk, clk, call storm variety, chk xx command throw, ahvb
inneffective:
j.hk, call ironman, slk, slk, chp, dash, time warp OTG, dash, shp, don't shoot, ahvb...
too flashy, not easy, not practical, yadda...
basically. the rushdown is the advanced use of all of cable's basics. nades, TK attacks, and AHVB every single mistake. what you're trying to do is get them to miss a block, and keep them grounded, so as soon as they get hit, ahvb will own them
this sounds like what you do with cable normally, but it's rushdown, becuase u play VERY agrressively when you do so. don't worry too much about blockage, cuz ur learning to use ur assist to protect you during his lag.

I've done this to another cable in battle b4. Connects two timeflips in one combo. Seems like a pretty flashy combo.
cable accidentally does hvb instead of ahvb. jp.Rh(with sent gamma assist), dash in cr.lk, cr.lk, cr.Rh (assist connects), timeflip, after they're airborne, dash in and otg w/ cr.lk, cr.Hp, dashpunch, timeflip, ahvb.

To answer ComboMasher question, since they fall to the ground, if you knock em with a c.lk, c.lk, they should pop up, so you need to do a s.hk, short simatar xx ahvb. I think that's how it goes. As for cable questions, here I go.
AHVB setups
*j.hk* lk, lk, hk, ahvb - the most common way, now the fun ways for my use
psylocke aaa *note, you need to be very close for this to work*
lk, lk, hk+psy, gernade (lk), psy should hit, gernade should catch em, c.hp xx ahvb.
sent gnd
j.hk *deep*, dash, lk, lk, hp+sent, hp hp, sent hits, gernade (lk), run and j.hk deep, dash, lk, lk, hp, hp, hp, hp, simatar, ahvb.
storm - proj *2 levels required for maxium damage and a heavy character* (draw back, must be in corner)
j.hk *deep*, dash, lk, lk, hk+storm, vb *lp prefered* xx timeflip, it hits, wait about 3 seconds, jump back and launch the lk gernade and hold it until it is under the opponent *opponent should be in the air* let go of the gernade, opponent should land on it, ahvb.
Those are just some that I use, there are PLENTLY of them, Cable is sort of the Diamond Dallas Page of Marvel.. he can ahvb almost out of ANYTHING.

I THINK that's how it goes. I made this a long time ago, but it's been awhile since I've actually tried it again. It might also be possible to jus' j.hp XX AHVB instead of dashing in and doing the j.lp->j.hp XX AHVB, but I'm not sure.
- (w/ CapCom <B>) j.hk \ / d.c.lk->c.mp->s.hk+assist, assist hits, *super-jump cancel* (backwards)->sj.hp XX AVB XX AHVB...
Saw this in a match vid, I think Genghis was the one doin' it. It looks :cool:.
- (w/ Sentinel <Y>) j.hk \ / d.s.lk->c.mp->s.hk+assist XX QCF+HK->assist hits [OTG], AHVB...
Pretty basic, jus' looks nice 'cuz of the nice pause b/w then AHVB and the s.hk XX QFC+HK.
- (w/ Sentinel <Y>, full screen) s.hp+assist->s.hp x3 XX HK Grenade (hold HK)->grenade connects, wave-dash x2-3->d.j.hk \ / c.hk, pause, DP+LP XX AHVB.
I jus' added that as the ender as I wrote it. It should jus' be d.s.lk->c.mp->s.hk XX AHVB, but at least this way it looks a bit falshier.
- (w/ Magneto <A>) j.hk->d.s.lk->c.mp->c.hp+assist->pause, assist hits, AHVB...
This is one of my personal favorites. It hurts more than [most of the, w/o assist] the normal chains into s.hk XX AHVB and looks hella better.
- (w/ Magneto <A>) j.hk->d.s.hp, pause XX tag-out (to Magneto)->d.s.lk->c.hk XX tag-out (to Cable)->d.j.lp+assist->j.hp, assist hits \ / AHVB...
Hardest part of this one is linking the s.hp into the tag-out. After that, it should be relatively easy.
Yeah, these aren't the most flashiest, and most, if not all, can be either rolled and/or mashed out of, but shit, who cares. At least they somethin' different than chain into s.hk XX AHVB.

its easy it reliable and if you do it low enough to the ground you can put ahvb X 3 the only promblem i have with your godly combos is performance i would love to see you pull that off in a match it just dosent happen most cable players are runnaway players and that seams to work for them so i dont think theyre going to try and learn combos with him n e wayz

I dont know why people hit s.hk XX lp scimitar XX AHVB. It seems hard. Much easier to just tiger knee after the hk. Though this looks more stylish, s.lk, s.lk, s. fp XX AHVB.

Hes "boring" because people make him boring. Continuous j.hp, nades and keep away, chip. Some people actually get scared if Cable gets close. I perfer to play both up close and keep away. It depends on who your facing though.
Anyone know how to hit the nade in a aireal rave? I still have not managed to do so.

speed up the magic series.. so they get as high as tehy can... then throw a lk nade... that works for me, but i don't like it... just hk is enough.... try to put them in block stun and reset them
but i play my cable rushdown style, and corner trap (not boring repeat traps with assist... tactical ones with chp, j.hp, and grenades for zoning.

They move on the last of it and take a few blasts. Sorry, I dont understand all the terms but magic? Is that 1,2,3,4?

magic is 1234, aka lp, lk, lp, lk
umm... assists?? doom rocks, sent drones, spiral ground, blackheart aaa...
throw setups??? lock down, walk in from drones blockstun, and tick throw them. u can also connect the ahvb from the throw, but u have to do it.. there's like... a 1 frame gap... so it's HARD... i've done it a few times

Just a stupid pointless thing but you can connect Cables scimitar assist after a successful Psylocke rave ending with the butterfly super and hit them back up. Just funny to do.

the point of the combo was the end, where u shoulder charge them into drones, and ahvb them off of it. the rest.. relatively simple, but i had to make a logical setup for it.

Hey, i have a combo but it relies on a storm projectile assist...it goes
j.hk c.lk+(storm projectile assist) c.lk s.hk TIME FLIP...then jump behind the opponent and before the 'other cable' shoots his gun, s.hpX3(or 4) lp scimitar XX AHVP X3

that's like a basic assist combo... try to do something where you have to do something within the combo to get the assist to hit, or make it ONLY work if you have the assist. the beef of that combo is in the time flip, and after that, but that whole combo can hit without, or at least the base of it...
j.hk, land, dash, slk, slk, xx timeflip, jump over, nade, hp x 4, xx scimitar, xx ahvb

one of the ones i mentioned... involve an air combo, where u end with a shot, and you shoot them into sentinel drones. there yah go ^_^

I know its not the best cpmbo, but its pretty cool.

well i just came up with a few combos and 1 thats a little differn't then 1 alredy posted. here goes
1. j.fk, dash, s.lk, c.lk, c.fp + Psy aaa, dash, c.lk, c.fk xx AHVBx3
note: c.fk is not techable
2. j.fk, dash, s.lk, c.lk, s.fk + Psy aaa, (lk) Gernade, j.fk xx AHVBx2 or 3
note: like i said i had 1 thats a little differn't then a previously posted combo
3. in corner j.fk, dash, s.lk, s.lk, s.fp +Storm-a, j.fk, land, dash, s.lk, s.lk, s.fk xx AHVBx2 or 3

actually the first combo i posted dosnt OTG it catches them before they hit the ground and number 4 i had only three hours of sleep so i might have halusinated it. so sorry if i misslead you and what i ment by thechable was that they couldnt tech roll. Actually c.fk i feal is better to use off of a juggel because the opponents character is lower to the ground meaning u CAN do more AHVB if u use s.fk they get lauched hella high and its way harder to land multipal AHVB

you guys may know this already but anyway, when your opponent is in corner and you were able to AHVB him, and you ran out of supers (eg, you just used 1 level), you can dash towards him and press df+HP to do cables luncher and do an airial combo.

OK, now do that to Jug in the corner and you will be able to hit him while you are falling down. I dont have till the day after next to try, but, a AHVB before you land, can it hit? I was just playing with buttons and hit a j.lp on the way down so if a AHVB hits it would look like a fairly nice setup of some gun bashing.

psylocke assist wouldn't be useful here...
if u call before the super jump, she's done before u land, and if u call after, he's already on teh ground.
cyke might be useful, but the optic shot hits them around, rather than on their back, or he'd be the definite replacement for psylocke. so that wont work either, because they can block it.
storm's variety might work, as might doom rocks, or sent drones depending. other.. thanos bubble and spider webs might too

j.rh dash in c.lk, c.fp+mag, dash in after mag hits, s.lp, s.fp(1 hit), xx crackdown, dash in, c.lk, c.fp (2 hits), scimitar xx ahvb
One meter..decent dmg..actually managed to pull this off in a match:D

i thought of a cool one from seeing what u wrote..
j.hk, call blackheart, clk, crackdown + assist hits, dash under reset, clk, cmp, shk, xx ahvb
it's a basic reset, but who the fuck thinks of getting hit by a cable reset... from taht combo, i think the more logical thing to do is sj. xx ahvb, but i'm not sure if that will connect or not.
blackheart/cyclops/cable that might work...haven't tested it yet..
blackheart inf, tag cable, call cyke, nutgrab on fall, throws into cyke, xx ahvb. that looks like it might work, but i'm not sure... it's the basic bh/cable thing, but just fancying it up

Ummm, you can do alot of Cable's corner combos in mid-screen on like Sentinel.
launch, lp, mp, hp, then on the way down you should be BEHIND Sent preventing from him getting wacked across the screen, lp, land, jump up jab, jab, shot.
Just do lp, mp the minute you SJ and lag it so that when you press hp, your behind Sent's sprite but Cable is still facing forward. You can also just wait for you and Sentinel both to land which you can then OTG with like c.lk, s.hp, shot shot shot shot shot shot shot. I'm pretty sure this is old, though. But I think it looks cool. =]

Do you cancel the lag into another psimitar, do you have to do the command differently (D,DF,F,UF,F+PP) or what? I cant fucking do it.

the command is the same for the first two, just do the TK motion. TK: tigerknee.
TK the first one ,TK the second one and then just do a normal jump on the third to connect three

I saw some crazy Cable that RowTron did in some video, but it wasn't on my PC and I don't remember who he played. I think it's still on Preppy's site, though. It was Mag's proj. assist, but it was just nuts.

clk + call launcher, s.hk xx ahvb (he gets launched and kicked out of the launch) - simple, but looks cool
storm:
hp x 4 + call expansion, nade, dash FAST, s.hk xx ahvb (try it from full screen... it works.. but it's hard.. for me at least)
corner:clk, slp + call variety, sj, lk, lk,lp viperbeam, hp, hk,
other misc shit...
IM + Hulk
corner: hp x 4 + call ironman projectile, c.lp, s.lp sj, air combo, land, hk throw, THC (whatever makes hulk do gamma crush)

I don't remember how it worked. I think Cable did his launcher and then did sj. rh, which I think made the character land in Mag's assist. That sounds kind of wrong to me... That combo was just crazy. I've seriously gotta find that match.
