That's my bad. I phrased my last statement badly. I meant to say that Team BCC may come up to Skybox after Shoppers World. I'd never crash Teddy's place, especially after all that stuff that happened last month (or two months ago?) where people were literally walking into his house uninvited. Sorry for the confusion.

if thats how you feel then isnt just a waste of time to let people keep trying to get on the team, when that time could be spent practicing? my opinion is that we should only have one shot get on the team. Not only will this preserve time for practice, it'll also simulate the pressure that will be present during the team tourny cause how one plays during a pressure situation is a major factor of tourny play.

Why do you guys keep argueing over who's going to be on the team and shots at a spot when the team is already set in stone? If anyone of the five originally chosen were to lose they'd just get another shot at it anyway so why not just practice as a unit? I brought this up with I think Gerjay and Bryan over a month ago when the MvC2 5 on 5 first came up and they both agreed working as a team early and learning as much as you can from each other is the best route.

And with all due respect:

Havren won't show for that tournament

J won't win and if by some act of God he does win then he'll lose the spot right back.

Ramy won't show (I'll put money down his mom won't let him go)

So take the team you have and work together.

BTW, I hope you guys sort out how you're actually getting to ORBIT. Kevin hasn't shown an inkling of wanting to attend and Yuhin hasn't said a word either leaving Bryan's mom to somehow take five people in the car (because no one wants to bus it to Pacific Mall outside of Matt).

I'm not going cause i'm goin to montreal (most likely) when the tournaments happenin. but that doesnt mean i dont want to see if i can actualy make it on the team.

The fact is we may all use the same basic stradegies for each character, but we impliment them in different ways. Granted the top 5 playing each other would generate the most skill improvement, but things can still be learned from people who are not on the team cause we all play diferently. Plus its kind of unfair to not give every one a chance to be on the team, thats usuming to much.

hmmm work as a team ?? What do you think me bry teddy and jason did all summer ?? Theres nothing wrong with our playing ability except our execution is a little off (we discovered it tonight) The only difference is that james has gotten better, and Teddy got worse. Its nothing a little practice wont balance out. Im just wondering why you're concerned as to how we're getting there. I mean if you were coming with us then I'd understand, but you're not. You're not even part of sauga or the SAUGA 5on5 teams. So why do you care how we get there ?? A Huge mission on the bus / subways is actually a good time when you're with a group of friends. And I'm most likely driving and bringing who I can. Its not like orbit is some un-reachable place where you cannot get there without the company of someone over the age of 20.

My execution is worse than watchin the leafs play against the flyers.

I wanna learn CvS2 again, I just realized my guile is pretty good. Just need to learn how to deal with blanka

I'm willing to hold another thing...but keep it shorter. I can't watch/play games for 7 hrs.

If anyone cares, we had a round robin tourney.

Bry - 4-0 - Row
Me - 2-2 - MSS-a
Jason - 2-2 - Santhrax
James - 2-2 - Storm/Cable/Capcom
Matt - 0-4 - MSP/doom

I lose to James but I beat Gerjay, Gerjay beats James and loses to me, James beats me and loses to Gerjay.

We then had a 3 man round robin to determine second

Gerjay - 2-0
Me - 1-1
James - 0-2

quite easy to find out what happens here. after this i'm not sure anyone cared but bry killed gerjay. I dont know what happened cuz i was on the comp.

Guile users: How do u play against cammy and blanka? Besides the unstoppable roll roll flashkick i'm stuck for ideas.

You know after my post this afternoon I felt bad not offering a ride (at least for some of you to alleviate your problems). I figured at least offer and that way everyone wins. Of course then I see posts like this and I wonder why I even bother.

Teddy; I don't know how well you RC but if you know how then integrate it into your defense with Sonic Booms. As for your Cammy and Blanka issue, I completely disagree with Eric. Considering the priority of those two characters over Guile, I suggest strong offense rather than defense. Good pressure (s.hk, s.hp, c.mk) mixed with Sonic Booms to hold them down along with learning when people want to roll and/or jump (that's a big thing because your throwing comes into play and we know how much I like those) will make all the difference in a fight with Cammy and Blanka. I hope that helps. Drop me a line on MSN if you want to learn more or find Roger or Kam on MSN because I learned alot of my tactics from them.

maybe low jump short will...plus every blanka ball i see is horribly RCed (damn gerjay) so that wont work

Everytime i try to get in, i get hit by a slide or spiral arrow before i can even get close...and a jumpin results in getting anti-airs to the face.

I think that Guile can hold his own easily against blanka if you can RC well, and supposedly Guile counters Cammy according to Ricky Ortiz (I witnessed this with my own eyes).

Guile's standing mp will kill normal jumping blanka for free from almost any distance (aside from a cross up). He can punish blanka balls with a level three sonic hurricane, backfist, or HK. Guiles crouching HP has shit loads of priority!!! If you throw out a random c.Hp and blanka goes to punch it with his HP he will hit the side of you and get hit like 80% of the time. Then from there you can mix it up using the c.Hp and flash kick when you see blanka slide in. To make a long story short a good guile can beat blanka easily. Versus cammy is a whole different story. You cant throw out a shit load of sonic booms because her cannon drill goes under it even if you RC it hits you most of the time except for the odd time she is right next to you and does it but only a fucking scrub would do that. C.mp can stuff her cannon drills, and so can c.lp. C.HP and beat her dive kick occasionally, and his s.mp works fairly well as an anti air. Fuck I should of used Guile in the tourney instead of A groove I probably would of done alot better haha, but I only have two solid c groove characters (guile, sagat).

That's exactly what Havren wrote. There's a stark difference between what he wrote and Roger's breakdown above. Havren gave two specific examples of what circumstances ask for certain RC responses. In both cases the responses wouldn't be appropriate. Guile's RC Sonic Boom is primarily used as an AA or a means to keep linking a combo without being punished by a poke. As for the latter usage, I don't think I know anyone either local like Roger or Kam or even on videos from Japan where people use RC Flash Kick. There are far more reliable AA's and there are better ways to fight off Cannon Drill because no one would use Cannon Drill that close (you'd just block and punish) that you'd want to punish with RC Flash Kick.

Yeah there's a CT at Noodleman's house on Saturday. I had asked Teddy if he wanted to come but he says he has plans at night and won't give me a straight up answer. If you're interested and can give me a solid answer (and gas money like usual) then I'll pick you up with the other three.

Then I'll be taking James. Casual is running in the afternoon from around 3:00pm - 6:00pm (Kevin and Gandhi can't make it until then anyway) and then the tournaments will start. There's obviously no way we'll finish by 9:00pm (who knows when it'll end) so we can't hook up a ride back. Besides that, Matt wasn't driving here anyway so he wouldn't have been able to take you back as originally thought.

James; meet at EMTC for 2:00pm with the rest of Sauga Crew for pickup. Make sure to bring whatever controller/stick you feel comfortable with and a snack or two for everyone.

That goes for all you guys, bring whatever sticks/controllers you'll need (Gerjay can you bring your TV?) along with a snack or pop. We'll need at least two DC's because jason and I are already using ours and we'll have four TV's if Gerjay brings his.

Kevin's Agetec is banned due to the restraining order placed on it by Jason's MASStick. :lol:

The one part which I completly found stupid was the Smith meets the oracle, I'll leave it at that because if i say somethin I'll ruin the movie for others.

I just got back from watching revolutions as well.. I must say im VERY disapointed... there were some cool parts in it that i liked but over all i would say for sure its the worst out of all 3. The ending was pure shit and thats not giving anything away really.. those of you that havent seen it will understand when you do.. complete trash! But still go and see it.. there were some pretty damn cool parts that are worth going to see, but as for MOST of the movie..:lame:

2nd, Big thanks to noodleman for hosting, justin for driving us there, and doggy driving us home / waiting through the rediculously late hours eventhough he got 4th in CvS2 anwyays (sauga!!)

So we're waiting for bry at GerJay's house and Jason is wondering why his printer doesnt work. 10minutes later he realizes his War3 CD case was in the printer and thats why it was saying "paper jam" :confused:

So Justin gets there and beats Jason, I nearly ocv him with Iori after but his vega makes it close @_@ Sandbagging ??? no way!! In the car I expressed a giant FUCK YOU to justin for dis-liking Revolutions and then suggest the sickest idea. Matrix vs Marvel. Bry's like "yo that'd be a sick game. Magneto/sentinel/Agent Smith, You cant fucking lose." Counter team to that would be Storm/Neo/Twins. Anyways we got the juice and arrived at Jason's (noodleman) house. Me and GerJay Ran CvS2 for like 20games which was a foreshadow to what would happen in the tournament. Marvel was obvious but I almost beat out bry coming back from a Draw Game in the Losers final :eek: (He was up 2 - 0 then let me win one ;) ) So I end up losing 3 - 2 in a pretty close game, he picked the uncounterable team so I was fucking automatically. Then he smacked the shit out of Jason who beasted on me. This happened right after my alcohol kicked in so it was all cool.

alcohol does not enhance your ability here. I forgot to play with a Medium Punch and forgot how to throw. I still almost beat Justin though!!! :evil: His akuma has gotten better / more annoying though.

CvS2

Revenge on Justin. He beat my secret team pretty easily and i said "what the fuck ?? J's Masstick is SHIT!!" But then I won the 2nd one on a sick chun li come back. Then beat him pretty bad the 3rd game. Revenge ownz.

Then i lost to gerjay whos gay Eagle is gay and annoying.

Then I forget who i had to smack up next. I think it was Noodleman ?? He had the sickest match with pete which was actually exciting to watch. HE nearly beat me too but again the sick chun li comeback -> 3rd game sakura ownage :evil:

Then I beat doggy in a SBO finals re-inactment.

Then I had to play GerJay again who beat me again :mad:

Highlights:

-Sakura Ownage

-Bry beating Pete in CvS2 :wtf:

-Bry getting scammed the fuck out vs bYron in CvS2 :eek: :wtf:

-Random sayings

-I forget cause I was drunk.

-Playing CvS2 at 3am ?? :confused:

My first match was against somebody... Ah, screw this, I forget about ST. I won my matches up to Kevin, lost, then lost against Ian and came 5th.

3S:

I didn't join this tourney... but I would like to say that my Urien beat Dennis Wong and Kin :p

CvS2:

Hmmm, terrible day. First match was against somebody... Well, I got kicked out of winners by Tony. In loser I played against Noodleman. He picked his usual K team, while I 'countered' with someone/Sakura/Bison. This match all came down to me landing Sak CC's that he couldn't do anything about.

Then I played against Rich I believe. Again, same idea. I lost to Tony again somewhere in there. Bad day for CvS2. 9th.

MvC2:

This was the game I was supposed to come top 3 in... and I was definately supopsed to get 2nd. Unfortunately, nothing worked for me today. Sure I pulled wins against Omni and Dennis Wong, but I lost to Bry in winners finals and lost to JS in losers finals. 3rd place. I'll let Bry or JS post about what happened to them in finals.

Pretty fun day. I think that the change girl was wondering how I had enough money to get as much change as I did.

Today was so jokes and was probably the best tournament I've ever been to, and not just cause I played well. It was mad chilling and watching Bry play marvel fucking blew me away and I realized how good he really is.

MvC2:

Bah. I got a bi, then had to play Omnidragon, I beat his rowtron but got owned by msp. then I lost to whats his face. . . Dennis wong. I played like an idiot and didnt care much.

CvS2:

I thought I was gonna get a bi, but Nagata says I gotta play Yu-hin instead. Kinda annoying cause yu-hin got to play whoever he wanted instead of being inserted properly, so I was kinda pissed off and I beasted.

Then I had to play Kin. Best Yun in the world!! I swear it!!! and lost =[. His jump back gay ass bison >> my sak.

Then I had to play Nagata where I dismantled the curt system the first game. Justin had problems executing on the 1p stick and I took the second game.

Then I had to play Ian. Which was the most tense match of the night. He was JDing very well, but I was able to keep my lead once I took it and Sakura'd the shit out of him :) A - Sak >> K-groove.

Then I had to play bry where I turtled like a bitch (sorry bry but you own me in MvC2 :p)

Then Jason Ma. I didn't expect much going into this but to my surprise i was holding the lead and literally had the first game, but he jumped for a cross up and I blinked got all confused thinking I was chun li (chun and sak switched positions) and he super'd my ass. Then crossed my up 123 super and I die. All that with no life left. I knew what I had to do to win but his bison gets perfect on my chun the 2nd game. . . But I came back cause A - Sak >>> C - Chun li :) His A-groove Vega was too good and did too much damage for me to come back against. So I ended up getting 5th, not bad considering I was expecting nothing higher then 9th or 13th.

Good games to everyone and thanks to JS for running the tournament.

me randomly showing up for a tourney like always.

highlight: me ocv kin with r1 iori!!! and doing roll, roll, uppercut on byron right when teddy whisper to me.

low point of the game: losing to kin 2 straight after my ocv, and realize i am late for dinner, and i have 20 mins to get back to sauga.

3s: i really wanted to join this tournment. but jay told me the tourney already started. too bad

st: since i couldn;t join st i figure i join another tourney cuz it take forever for your match to come up in st.

jason(noodle man): i didn't want to waste 50 cents so i jsut use old sagat the other player left there. i was playing it like cvs2 style, and manage to win one round. stupid ryu fireball super. keep jumping backwards into it.

james: picked honda, and all i did was jumping back hp and random headbutt. and won 2 straight.

kin: stupid feilong. poking me to death.

cvs2: i came into metro, planning on watching some matchs and then leave, since i figure i was too late to enter. Then justin ask me to enter. i figure that since i so rusty at this game i be kick out quick early and be able to make it to dinner in plenty of time.

justin was kinda of busy he told me to slot myself in. I looked at the bracket and saw their was like 8 ppl i could played against. roger, eric, ian, jason ma, gerjay, matt, bryan, and dennis. It would be stupid to play against the top 4 ppl. so tat ruled out the first 4. and i didn't want to play dennis, cuz i played him almost in every tourney. tat leave gerjay, matt, and bryan. i didn't want to be a ass and try to but me against someone tat doen't even play the game. so i ruled out bryan. tat leaves gerjay and matt. i figure since i havn't playd against matt in the longest timei picked him. and i total reget it.

matt: i picked sagat, vega, and honda. and matt picked vega, saurka? and chunli. my vega got owned, since i total forgot how to get out of the stupid vega trap. then my sagat killed matt's vega with a lucky super. i brought saurka down to low health, and honda finish it. and i end up facing with chunli, and was counter char to death. 2nd round almost the same thing happen, but i was in a groove with vega sagat and blanka. damn i need pratice.

vs bi:

bryon: i played him before, and remember he hates playing against honda and he like to jump in. so i of course picked c groove honda team. and won 2 straight. this was the match where my iori and sagat was using my srubs tactic 101, 202, 303. roll throw, roll uppercut, roll roll uppercut. and honda landed 2 roll super!!! (srubs tactic 404).

teddy: teddy gotten good in this game. but i think i scamed him enought time.

teddy: " i didn't know 'xxx' move beats out mine 'yyy' move."
yuhin: " i wasn't trying to do tat, it came out by accident. and i didn;t even know it beats out tat move"

won 2-1

kin: it seems kin it destined to kick me out of every metro tourney or to the loser bracket. i ocv him with iori. and then i lost to his a groove team. stupid unblockable cc.

yes there will be something there that will say what type of camcorder it is.

hi-8
tapes are more expensive. around $20-$30 for 3 useless tapes
actual quality on tape is "better" than digital 8
capturing quality to the computer is poor
odd thing about hi-8 is that its one of the cheapest brand of camcorders out there

digital 8
tapes are ASS cheap. $20 can get you around 8 or more tapes
quality is decent but less than hi-8
capturing quality is better and the filesizes are smaller

theres probably a bit more technical aspects that make them more different but ive used both types and they seem to handle exactly the same.

im guessing you're buying a camcorder to mostly record matches right? Get a digital 8...its a little more pricey ($800+) but you won't be killing your wallet in the long run when it comes to tapes and video capturing.

Today was fun.

School ended at 11:30 am

I head to the arcade and there was james. We play like a total of 5 matches and i win 3 he won 2. I only won the third one because he got "scammed"...

next came chris
we played a couple of matches, He gotten better but still ended up ocving him. We went to subway and he went back to school.

Went back saw hayvren, played him like 10 times, him beating 7 times and I only beat him like 3 times.

Salman came. We played 3 matches in total then I ended up leaving.

Personally I don't mind SAUGA STICKS outside of the horrid 3rd Strike cabinet. If they could fix that thing your big 3 fighting games would all be great. I like Skybox's MvC2 more than any other cabinet I've played on outside of BCC's old cabinet.

You did take a lot of flack from ungrateful people last year but that's the risk you run when it comes to being the tournament director.

I wouldn't mind organizing M3 but the timing is terrible with the ORBIT tournament being close by. If we did this at all I'd like to see it for Saturday December 13th. That leaves just under a month to convince your management and upper management to fix 3rd Strike 100% (I think it's needs a complete joystick & button replacement to be honest) and make sure CvS2 and MvC2 are in working order (both are about as good as I've ever seen them in Sauga with only minor issues). It also gives suitable notice to everyone who would like to come.

Thoughts on the idea?
