im restarting my p-groove team and i found ken to be really usefull in it, parrying helps alot, and if i keep a good "flow of motion" every pary becomes a shoryuken. scince i parry forward, i just finish the dp motion and press punch, .
so any ways, im starting to use a p-ken and i would like to have sum tips and such from other p-ken players...

Build meter with short funky kick
Parry in air xx airthrow
Parry xx shoryuken
Low parry xx cr. short x2, st. short, short funky kick
Empty small jump cr. short combo's
Use basic BnB's for pressure.
Other than that its your basic Ken.

ya i know, its great isnt it??
if you keep that "flow of motion" even if you miss a pary, we follow-up to a mashing DP!!!!:p

I'm lookin for a third character for P Groove
so far my team is
Rock
Sagat
????
I might put ken in there..........but you guys say that kyo is really good? How come?
I think that Rock is kind of bad in p groove....just because of the fact that rock has so many counters as is.....
can you guys help me out?

P Kyo is good because 1, he can benifit easily off a parry (c.mp mk.juggle kicks, whatever) and he has low jump so he can do his wakeup games.

my suggestion would be to replace rock with terry...why? terry has better wake up games and wut not with dash than rock. terry is just about better with a dash than a run. parry into his s.fp then super or qcb lp.
Keep Sagat.
P-kyo is pretty dayum nasty to tell tha truth...i think him and vega are probably the a-sakura and a-bison of p-groove.

Actually, Rock has some mean wakeup games with rage run shift, he really doesn't even need a corpse hop dash like Terry's. And although P Kyo is pretty good, P CBS is better, more specifically P Cammy.

its a mental game,
when do you sweep? chances are, hes gonna sweep also...
players have paterns, thats why its important to mix stuff up, reckonize the patern and act accordingly.
[edit ] by the way, chek some P-vids you'l see that you really shouldnt worry about parryig low

P-Kyo is probably the best character in P-Groove. P-Rock is tech! Rock's best groove is definatly P, with the only contender being K. His P is MUCH stronger than Terry's. Terry likes C or S. Sagat and Blanka are nowhere near the tech they are in P-Groove. They belong in C or A. Same goes for Bison and Sakura, stick with them in A. Just because some character is an unbalanced whore in some grooves, doesn't meant they are the tech choice for every other groove =P.
As for Ken he isn't really great and should probably stick to C and A grooves. He can hold his own though and his parry strings are ok. I use him in my back-up P-Groove team purely for fun.

hmm... im gonna have to disagree... I think P-cammy is better than kyo but that's my just my opinion. P-kyo is good but haven't seen many "american" p-kyo's perform at the level of cammy.
I'm also gonna throw in A-Rock as being amongst top grooves for Rock just for the hell of it. Maybe cuz I got beasted my Combofiend's A-Rock just yesterday.

I don't know... I think Rock's Grooves go like this (order) K, C/P/A, N, S. And CBS are all better in P than Kyo, I don't know where you got that from...Also what the hell does Terry have to do with anything? Just because Bison and Sak are top tier doesn't mean people think theyre good in P, they're only top tier because of their customs anyway. Ken is balanced enough that he can be a contender in any groove, we know he's better in C and A but this thread is about P Ken.

I like Rock in S :( You wont belive how many people JUMP when your bar is flashing...idiots -.-

Rock is alot better with the threat of a CC/Lv3 at hand, with S he doesn't get that lv3 till about death, so he can't controll the pace of the match well.

ya really whats up with terry in this thread??
any ways
its true when epsilon_ says that even if bison and sak are top tier that there good in P.
i think P is one of those grooves that depend very much on reflex and skill. doesnt matter as much about tier as it would in say C or what ever.

P groove depending on reflex and skill.... hmm.... so what about the other grooves? It kinda sounds like you're implying that the other grooves don't depend as much as skill or reflexes. Of course, SKILL is to broad and every groove depends on having SKILL. Reflexes I can understand in P-groove but I think P requires more of a prediction or understanding as to what the opponent will do in certain situations so you can parry and punish. I guess it's not really a guess but still requires chance parrying with higher statistical probabilities than a guess that the other person will perform a move that you are predicting to parry....
K, I'm getting too crazy with this... Just wanted to say all grooves (well decent players anyway) depend on skill and P-groove doesn't seem to require more advanced skill than other grooves.
And my opinions is tiers still matter very much in P-groove. Most top P-groove players I see still have Sagat and Cammy as 2 of their 3 rather than 3 mid-tiers.

well i think P is the hardest groove to play because one wrong parry and thats it you know?
but thats just IMO
