Tuesday biatches. That's the day we get back to it and I own you all in VS.

Sticks people we need sticks. Anyone build any over break? Buy any? Leave em at my place so we have them when we play. We need 3 total. I don't want you punks using my Jap sticks all the time. We need 3 solid American ones.

I am going to take a collection to help fund new sticks/games for us to play. Rich and I are getting the designs together for a 2 person one. So we'll talk more about it later. Even a dollar here and there would help.

I have added a collection bin in my basement. Don't worry all money donated will go towards said items for our gaming, not my own (so no I won't use your money to buy Final Fantasy X-2 or anything like that). Plus your donations are tax deductable :lol:

MD tourney is not something really big. We want to play because of the GGXX level, though they have some really good 3s and fairly decent MvC2.

For the others:
I was talking to Jeremy a little bit about the best dates for our next event. I told him that I would try to get opinions from everyone during the week.

For what I remember we wanted to do it on a Saturday and during february... this leaves us with the following alternatives.

Jan 31= Good day so far. Superbowl Next day (Houston, TX, Sun Feb 1st). Some of the 3D players don't like this day, they have a concert or something to go to

Feb 7th = Good day so far. Nothing on schedule

Okay, you can play VCDs if your DVD player supports it -- no way really to trick it like region coding tricks or anything -- of course you can watch them on your computer too and you can get a VCD card for the DC, Saturn, PSX, most systems have one.

Best thing is to get a cheap as Apex, Cyberhome, or Daewoo DVD player -- I got a Cyberhome one for 30 bucks and it plays everything, even computer combo vids done in .avi and mpeg -- also can go regionless and supports PAL. Your DVD player should support VCDs though, since I have found only a few that do not support them.

Ong Baak is supposedly an amazing film and the guy Tony Jaa I think his name is -- is being hailed as the next Jackie Chan -- no subs on that VCD or DVD though -- unless it was a boot which have them if someone created them for it.

Sunni -- come on Thursday and bring my IA2 so I can watch that, been dying to!

Okay, so I am NOT going to this MD trip -- sorry but I will be away this weekend for family things back home and plus Sunday is not a good day for me to getting in late with work the next morning -- I wish you all well, whoever goes.

Tea time -- I vote for one in Feb and 1 in April -- same location, same setup with a little more organization. I have procured yet anotehr 27 inch RGB monitor from my source so i can provide a few sets myself. Lets do this -- lets set it up and just do it. I'm willing to help out in anyway to get this done.

Happs -- I will do an order possibly next month -- but I will need all money, including shipping up front for the order. No deal otherwise.

Everything else -- Lets keep our weeklies -- what days are good for you guys? I'm thinking we should make the jump to Thursdays if we can so Rich can get in. All are welcome, as long as people help drive. We have 3 sets. All we need are sticks and drivers. I will always do 1 load, Sunni usually does another.

So lets play this Thursday, 6 p.m. pickup former PL site (unless you guys have a better place to pick up). And we'll see who owns in VS -- my Lillith feels like taking a bite out of Demitri.

I 'think' we payed 80$ for a car rent last time we went to MD. Including insurance, 1 night stay and extra miles.

We can play Marvel if you bring sticks yeah -- we usually run XX and VS and then Marvel on the main set later -- but we can keep it running if we have enough sticks -- I get the guys at 6 ish -- so show up around 6:30 p.m.

It's called Armageddon. There is an "H" infront which stands for "Hidden". So it's a Hidden Super Desperation move. It doesn't look all that hot, just throws a big lunge punch but the damage is pretty good and it's unblockable.

I am dissapointed how half of my favorite characters are either changed completely or gone but I do like the game.

Just a word of warning. My senior year of HS, my car won the class clunker superlative. I still drive that car and it is now 4 years later. my rear shocks/suspension are shot to shit. I can't have more than 200 lbs in the backseat of my car, otherwise shit starts creaking and grinding. I can drive at max 2 people other than myself to MD, and the person sitting in the back has to be a light weight. I'd much rather throw money in and rent a car, but if my car is needed, I'll offer it up provided I get gas $$$. ^^;;

I'll def be there Saturday, tho. I'd like to get some GGXX practice in, so what time should i be there? Jarvi, i won't be on the internet till tomorrow or the next day since I got a new computer and need to register my new network card to get on the network and Resnet is apparently closed for tonight.

My question is...
Who will be willing to split the cost of renting the car between everyone going there? Including those taking free rides?

For example we could rent a car for the trip, and split it between 6-7 people. This includes the people like myself who are taking a free rid, this would make it cheaper for everyone.

Xerlic told me that he rather go directly to MD if he has to take his car all the way down there, but he will come if someone else does the driving on a different car (even if he has to ship in for the rent).

I forgot to ask him if he would still come here if someone else drives his car to MD.

There's also Nate that "might" go and "might" have "some" space in his car, this is still on hold though

Well, monkey said he could drive. If he drives we have space for EVERYONE. All we have to do is to give him gas money.

So it all depends if Monkey is driving or not.

While the Pitt players don't have plans for a tournament, the OH people will host their own during that weekend. Anything with a stick is fixable. I believe those are ultimates in that cab, which if needed I have extras that we could swap in. All the stick is, is a shaft with a spring that hits directional microswitches that cause it to move. So I would say that we should try replacing that one microswitch and take it from there. Next step would be to check the wiring to see if there is somewhere where it is crossing over onto another contact point, which can cause interference. It's probably just a worn out switch though.

Hmmm...maybe i can come look at it sometime this week, i have some extra switches...

The tournament was fun as hell. This time I actually beat people:lol:. I was even more amazed at the amount of skill the the State College and Rochester alliance. Nate, Josh, Xerlic, Sunni, and Jarvi holdin it down in GGXX. I really was proud of them and how well they did. Jason and Thahn was representing the capcom side of things very well in terms of Super Turbo, and 3s. I learned new things from watching their battles.

Some of my favorite highlights from the tourney.

-Jarvi making a excellent comeback with Sol by landing the dust loop

-Sunni beating Arturo Sanchez

-Jason beasting suckas and takin prisoners with DJ in ST

-Thahn X-copying tactics from people and winning

I was tryin to hold it down in Alpha3 and 3s. I almost eliminated Eric lee in A3 but i messed up. I got sent to the losers in 3s by exodus and got eliminated by a nasty Q player. But not before I took out 3 people with ken:D. I hope that we will be able to go to another tournament in the future this one was well worth it to me. i actually played Arturo twice in the ggxx tourney.....the first one was easy since that was probably his first tourney match but the second match he got like 20 times better and I almost lost to him...that guy is a beast and learns game so fast....anyway the tourney was mad fun but too bad its started way too late and with 55 players in the tourney the thing just went on forever and i had wait like 3 hours between my matches....

Yea OH is wide open for everyone. I talked to Josh B@C-God house... he game me some details and told me that we were more than welcomed.

I have been asking for dates and such for weeks. But noone tells me "Jarvi lets run it on the 7th, even if XXX people can show up" or any other day.

As of now I'm focusing heavily on GGXX, I do like playing CvS2 and MvC2, but they are becoming my casual games. I see GGXX and I know I have a good chance of improving my game, but when I see CvS2 I don't feel the same way (and MvC2 is out of the question).

I was talking to Jake for a while and he told me that they would be going to any tournament they can fit in their schedule because they are both collecting money and pracitcing for the California Regionals.

My idea for our tournament:
a) We can run it on the 7th... with no really good GGXX players showing up. We might still have a good turnout for GGXX, but not very big.

b) We can run it the first weekend after spring break (one week before "march madness") or during April and make this huge thing with lots of anticipation.

c) We can run it during Thon weekend. Though I would have to go to the parking office and figure out parking. One week before "Breakdown 3". We would have enough time to make it big.

d) We can run two tournaments, one now and one later on (march/april)

When I say big I'm not talking about making it the size of ECC... but something close to what C-God did. On the 7th it could be fairly big on all the Capcom games but the attendance for GGXX won't be as great :(

It's a rare game, yes, but it is out there. That doesn't mean that we need to drop XX completely, just that we need to know how to play #R.

I would be more than happy to go to Team serious tourney. Most top player in the east coast will be there, and if they don't have that many additional people showing up we will really get to improve our game.

Also it is only 30 mins from Cleveland... I'm pretty sure Cherrie will find some nice Malls to visit :)

I do like #R better than XX in balance terms, I just need practice. Personally switching between version doesn't feel troublesome... Maybe it has something to do with Sol and Millia keeping most of their combos and FRCs timings.

We only made sure that the connections were tight... basically unplug it and plug it back in

Dude LOL, you've been to my place a million times -- the same setups as usual LOL. We're just gonna practice all day, that's all. Of course we'll need sticks if people can bring em. We'll have #R setup and 2 DCs...and we can run whatever else on the small monitors if you want...

I have to verify that this is a 100% go, so more to come.

And yes Guy, I am learning dizzy, but only know 3 combos right now -- he he -- c.D, FRC, s.p, s.k, jump cancel into air combo is the only new thing I know so far...we'll see what else I can come up with...
