Starting this shit...

Thanks to Justin for having so many of us over. Despite my best efforts to have fun, it just got too boring (which wasn't your fault). I can't believe I used to enjoy these things...anything that takes 5+ hrs looking at a tv is fucking lame.

Good games to whoever I played. I couldn't care less who I played though...

ST tourney never really got off the ground, but oh well. There's still the metro tourney.

I still cannot play A3. Must find way to practice on arcade A3.

After getting a rude refresher in the cheapness of Morrigan in DS1 from Tyrell I proceed to get win streaks with Demitri, Bishamon and Victor. w00t.

I still cannot play CVS2 or Marvel 2.:(

Adrian; I don't know who you think you were playing but you did NOT beat me in Sauga. The machine was broken on my side, chose Raphael automatically for me and I beat you THREE STRAIGHT before you walked away and I left because the machine was acting up.

The only time you've beaten me was at ORBIT sometime last year at a UN I believe and that was all of ONCE, with Nightmare (as you pointed out). Now considering I only took whatever skills I picked up from Soul Calibur on DC and brought it to SC2 (I never bothered to play it at BCC) that's pretty sad that I can take you down when you play the game regularly and use the best character in the game.

You can talk shit about my Marvel skills all you want. I suck at it. It's not like I've ever said otherwise. CvS2 on the other hand you would be the last person to trash me there. If you think you're really that great at SC2 I'll be happy to play you again. Of course if/when I win you'll never hear the end of it so know what you're getting into first.

Okay, I didn't want to throw this out in General Disc. but wanted to have this heard:

a) Our best Canadian Marvel players are the equivalent of average/mid-level Marvel players in the US on their best day. Canada would be owned by random people you've never even heard of in the US. This is a fact that has been proven at every US major our decent Marvel players have attended. Even suggesting that Canada's top five in MvC2 could hang with the top EC and WC guys in the US is insane.

b) Jiggabry is a decent guy, but Jonstar is easily the better Marvel player. The only reason Bry should be an anchor is because of his weight.

c) Don't make suggestions for things like that when you know that not a single serious Marvel player from Toronto is even going to Evo.

I'm not quite sure this makes sense. Toronto is part of Canada so you've included Toronto whether sited specifically or not.

As for Will's statements, I wouldn't put so little stock in the skills of some of GTASF's MvC2 players. While I do agree they're not at the level of top WC & EC, to say random people would beat guys like Bryan or Jon isn't fair. They're both high quality players and until actually tested (I believe that's one of the big reasons Bryan wanted to go to ECC9) against stronger US players, saying they can't beat the US should be withheld until proven otherwise.

So as not to double post...

Bryan; your post made a clear insinuation that I would be driving you should you elect to attend and I was using my car. I don't jump off the handle for nothing; I read the post and knew what you were getting at. In any case, Teddy pretty much made it clear that you guys wouldn't care if I didn't drive anyway as you would ask Kevin so there's an alternative.

Before anyone actually you know... ASKS for a ride I wouldn't be able to provide it this time as I've got to get home and change/get ready to head back out to my friends place before hitting "My Apartment" (is that club any good? I only went once and the line was insane so we left) for the night.

Now if he had made this statement after actually asking me for a ride and I said something like "let me get back to you" that would be understandable. However, nobody had asked me anything by this point. The post basically says "if Justin is going, then he's taking us."

The last part of your post basically sums up my arguement for me. You guys have grown so used to me going out of my way to get you that it's practically expected now. I partially blame myself for letting it get to this point but the bottom line is that I go out of my way as a favour, not to placate an expectation.

the old arcade man told me that if i get buttons he would let me take out the old ones on mvc2 and replace them with new good buttons and shit.. maybe a stick too if u guys want.. just wondering if people would pitch in for that stuff and i'll order them off the net and set up the machine at lunch sometime or after school. I'm not kidding either.. lol please if you can donate a bit of money depending on how much buttons and sticks are so we have a half decent machine to play on. Edit: Also, most of them are about 2 bucks each.. and then there are other ones that are 6 bucks each (keep in mind this is in US dollars) Do you think it would be worth getting ones that are more expensive, assuming there much better quality? It would come to about 70 bucks US if we got the 6 dollar ones.. so around just over 100 bucks. With 10 people thats about 10 bucks each.. So i dont know.. its up to everyone who would pitch in i guess. Im also going to ask the arcade guy if they could pitch in some money if were gonna fix it all up but i doubt the company would do that. Its worth a try though.

Teddy's always made it sound like he plays with some decent cash (around $100) and that's what I usually play with my poker buddies if not a bit more so $20 is lightweight to me.

I can't agree on the max bet issues, half the fun of Texas Holdem is to play all in and either scare your opponents off or make a mad amount of money with a decent hand.

Bullshit would be wild cards, or fucked up side games. I only want to play Hold Em and 7 Card Draw, so if there are other games i'll sit those hands out. Ok put no limit, get someone suckered in the first hand and they're gone, If that happens i'll quit and fold 3hands in a row cause its not fun.

I think you mean 7 card stud poker.

Anyway; if they get suckered in early that's their own fault. You can fold your cards all you want. Considering hold em is pretty much based on two cards that weed out who's got a solid hand and who doesn't (unless you bluff well), you'll get people folding right off the bat pretty much all night.

Here's the deal.

1) you play till you lose your money. That means no fuckin cashin out when u want. You play till one winner. Tourney style. After that 1st and 2nd split the pot. (Hey like a marvel tourney!). The only way I think people should go is if they really have to go (curvew and shit, and it pisses the fuck out of me because usually they're the ones winning, and I think I can make a comeback)

metro is crap! if they didnt have that xmen vs sf machine there on 25 cents it woulda been horrible...:bluu: im never going to another metro tournament again unless JS offeres 20 bucks if the MvC2 machine isnt 100%...seriously. UN was ok, only got like 5 or 6 wins in marvel but they were the important ones, ended brys endless winstreak, ended dark dragons 20 game streak and keeping brys streak going when he dashes off to get pizza :D all in all, good day

Yeah metro was crap. Nothing was done about the ST sticks or the Marvel 2 buttons at all. The ST sticks were fixed during the last tournament but it started to break during that tourny and this time it was just unplayable. If only I could have stayed for 3rd STrike and CVS2...anyway, the only good thing about metro this time was i got to meet Paul and Mahir and the stupid fun that is infinite fighter. That easy-ass Storm infinite makes her even more stupid than her MVC2 incarnation. But still that game is fun. If there's another tourny at metro there should be an infinite fighter side tourny.

anyways, once we get the buttons fixed in emtc i challenge anyone there for money except the big 3 (bry teddy gerjay) and i know matt wont play there cuz he uses magneto and u cant use magneto on those sticks:D

I fixed all the damn buttons.. it took me forever. i took it all apart and fixed it all.. new wires and everything and it works well.. ive never played at emtc with it working better. the sticks are still shit.. but the buttons are decent. The old man also got me to fix 2 other machines because the people that work there are fucking retarded. Im not doing that shit again without getting paid for it.. but i got all the free games that i wanted for a few hours :)

uhhhh I dont think you understand how many times we thought we "fixed" the buttons before. I give it a few days before they're fucked up again. Or one tournament that wont finish without a button breaking.
