know it's kinda early but I thought it would of been nice to make represent sauga by taking the time to make a new thread for the month. Boy has it been so long since I've gottin an ass woopin from you guys in mvc2(well not from ramy:bluu: ) but you know what I mean. I hope this thread hopefully becomes alot more interesting then the rest, or else I'm really gonna be upset, peace!

Just A Note:

Emtc right side joystick is not working properly(but whats new). This time now I can't even move the stick in the down direction especially in the character selection screen. So if you guys can try and make a serious inquiry to the Arcade guy, later!

If your talking about at EMTC, I'd think that all depends on the situation of the sticks there. Besides I hear Orbit and this Metro place has better quality everything. Isn't there a new arcade opened in Streets Ville now. With a nice quality system there(so I hear)?

Thanx a lot guys for coming, the tournies were great fun. Casual didn't last too long... but at least I think Justin learned some stuff. Really, he has the mindset to win at that game, just missing a bit of execution. Once you get that up you'll be a very solid player. I am talking about marvel here... just in case you were wondering.


Marvel tournament was extremely fun. Me and Bry had some fun matches, but I know Bry wasn't playing the way he would if it was for money. Well... I think the last match he was, but that's about it. He just got unlucky when I landed some good combos on him... but then he owned my capcom from like... full to dead when i thought I had the lead. Point is those were finals to be taped.


As for CvS2... I don't remember much about what happened. I just remember loosing to Bry because he's a beast with CBS and beating him in loosers finals. I really can't understand what made me pick eagle/chun/bison... sucha weird team. But meh, it won me the tourney, so I guess it works. Highlight Of The Day: 4th in MvC2

Low Point Of The Day: One AHVB from being 3rd in MvC2

Line Of The Day: "Come on Shu, Ruffles Chip him." (Jerris is great).

This thing came together basically to give me a lesson in Marvel and keep my skills going up. Of course it didn't work out that way as I pick up Shu, Bryan and James and we end up going right into tournaments after like four casual matches.

CAPCOM VS SNK 2

Vs Shumayel (2nd Round): Gerjay and I each got a bye. This was standard fare stuff. Shu is way out of practice and I know he can't handle my Vega for shit so I wasn't worried about it. First match he didn't even see Vega. Second match I punked him out pretty quick with Vega and that was that.

Vs Bryan (Winners Finals): I really need to stop underestimating Bryan. The first game was UUUUUUGLYYYYYY has be demolished me. I didn't even make it to his Ratio 2 Sagat. Second match I sub out Guile and put in Terry. That made all the difference as Bryan had no idea how to fight my Terry as I never use him in tournament matches. I punked him out both matches with Terry pretty badly and cleaned up with Kim. This set definitely had me going.

Vs Gerjay (Grand Finals): This was such a travesty. First set I totally blow the first game and then it's all downhill as I lose three straight. Second set I take the first game and then couldn't touch him after that. This Eagle/Chun/Bison team was insanity. I hate fighting Chun Li. She did all the damage (Eagle was barely a factor in either set) and Bison cleaned up. Another tournament I just couldn't finish.

MARVEL VS CAPCOM 2

Vs Gerjay (1st Round): UGH! This was beyond brutal. Gerjay OCV'd me with Magneto the first game and I just barely managed to kill Mags the second game before dying to Sentinel. The less said about this set the better.

Vs Jerris (1st Round - Losers Bracket): Jerris had a tight set with James so I was pretty scared. His Magneto did all kinds of damage in the first game and made me his bitch. The second game Bryan coached me really well as I wore down his team little by little with Runaway Storm. Once Magneto died I ran away. Third match went a bit smoother as I took out Magneto early and Cable did all the work after that.

Vs Shumayel (2nd Round - Losers Bracket): I figured this would be the end of the line for me. First match was a pile of crap as we were both doing a whole lot of nothing. I manage to get in some key Hail Storms and wear down his team. Then comes Runaway Storm and keepaway Cable and I win via timeout. Second match was gross as Shu just rushed me down and I had nothing to come back with. Third match was nutty. Shu was beasting for a while. He hits AHVB and then hits some button on the MASStick that freezes your guy (this is the first I've heard of it) so I AHVB his Cable. After that he just crumbled making one mistake after another and I put it away.

Vs James (3rd Round - Losers Bracket): This set was insanity. James took the first match with relative ease as I ran away from Cable too much and got picked off one by one. Second match I rushed him a lot more and got in some key Supers to wear him down. Bryan says "run away, run away" so that's what I do and I take the second match. Third match was just nuts. James smokes my Storm early. Then it's all Cable as I take down his Sentinel. We go back and forth and then I hit KKK but didn't hit AHVB and that's all she wrote as I didn't get another shot at him and the time ran out for my loss. Awesome match though.

4th in my first tournament since putting in real time with this game. I'm definitely going to train harder and learn better defense against Magneto (easily my weakest character) and get my execution down (which basically was the difference between 4th and 3rd place).

Highlights:

MCFUCKING CHRIS LIU! :lame:

Everyone trying to scam my McNuggets. :mad:

Jason got punked from playing CvS2. Sorry bud... :sweat:

Everyone thinks that Jerris got mugged on the way over. :rolleyes:

Don't cry. It wasn't supposed to be a tournament. The whole point of the evening was to give me training in MvC2. But considering we had six of us and then added Jason and Jerris at like 11:00pm, we figured a tournament would be a good idea. Not to mention the fact that Jason's living room was about as packed as you ever want it to be. I felt bad for Jerris sitting near the window, that place was drafty as hell.

Through some miracle, Nassim was able to find the lost second tape from The Last London Tournament. Now there's good news and bad news. The good news is that the entire Grand Finals between Eric and Bryan is on the tape. The bad news is that the matches are nowhere near as good as I remember them to be. So I'm forced to wonder; do I post Mahir vs Marvin CvS2 Grand Finals or do I post Eric vs Bryan MvC2 Grand Finals?

If it's on Thursday then you can count me in. Odds are you can count in Noodleman & Steve (I don't propose to speak for them, only offering a thought) as well as Thursday is typically a casual session for Team Brampton anyway. However, Friday is a definite no no (Catholic family would not be happy with my leaving to play video games on the anniversary of Christ's death) and Saturday is a wash as I'm having family over for Easter dinner.

It should be noted that if it's on Thursday and we can attend I'll be happy to bring my DC, controllers, games and sticks as per necessary.

Line Of The Night: "ALBATROSS! PORT! PORT!" (Coaching Bryan's Team Clockwork)

I head up to Skybox hoping there'd at least be scrubs to shred before going over to James. Sadly there wasn't so I just beat the game and left. The controls worked pretty well from what I could see though I think the Agetec is spoiling me because I can't get used to these US giant spacing between buttons.

I pick up Shu and bestow a little advice on why it's always best to never burn bridges with your girlfriends because of the potential benefits later on. I'm not quite sure if he understood what I was getting at but whatever.

JAMES HAS A KITTEN! AWWWWW!

James informs me that I was supposed to pick up Bryan (heaven forbid the guy actually ask me for a ride). He calls and Bryan is of course at Dan's house. MOTHERFUCK! We go through an entire ordeal over how to get to Dan's house (never trust Shumayel's directions) so I take Team White Boys v2.0 (James, Chris P & Q) and after a lot of "I think that was the house" and "NO WAIT, turn down that street" we finally reach Dan's place. The amount of random girls walking into this guy's house convinces me a porno is being filmed there but I can't prove anything.

Wendy's was the slowest ordeal ever. That cashier better have been a trainee otherwise she could use a slap across the face for being so slow and stupid. NO ICE! Anyway, TWBv2.0 get like a million Jr. Bacon Cheeseburgers and we finally get back to his place.

MARVEL VS CAPCOM 2

Vs James (2nd Round): Top six got a bye, which worked in my favour because I placed high at Gerjay's last week. Anyway, this was a rematch from Gerjay's and it went pretty much the same with a bit less drama. I busted him up with Storm and then ran away but got caught and smoked. My Cable needs major work on execution and I blow it over and over. So much for that. Second game I again had the advantage and managed to blow it. FUCK!

Vs Shumayel (3rd Round - Losers Bracket): I trashed Shu pretty much all night for no apparent reason but especially worse when I saw we were playing each other. First game he did a number on me and I was worried. Second match I smoked him with Storm and then ran away for the victory. Third match I got busted up pretty badly. Shitty deal because I know I can beat Shu. Ah well, peaced out this time.

HIGHLIGHTS:

- ROC's OCC with Magneto on Poetta was the sickest shit I'd seen in a long time. :sweat:

- Bryan scams Hayvren's hat. :evil:

- Running shit in 3rd Strike despite sucking so badly. :o

- Trash talking Shu into the ground. :D

- Never eat cold Wendy's Fries if you value your life. :(

- "Dont' worry Shu, it was all a dream." (Shu gets high and wonders why ROC OCV's him in like 15 seconds) :lol:

- Everybody theorizing how James could explain his glass coffee table being broken to his parents after the MASStick abuse. :rolleyes:

- Poetta trying to convince me to loan him my car to get Bryan. :p

- ROC vs Bryan Grand Finals were FUCKING SICK! :eek:

Anyway Jerris, I think you have too many factors working against you. For one, you practice on a pad for a game that's practically impossible to excel in without a stick. The second is that you don't seem to play much against solid competition. I practice hard at home but the only time my game (and the games of so many others) take another step forward is to play other people that are better, learn from the mistakes, adapt and keep going. I suggest you take the time to play guys like Bryan, James, and Gerjay on a more regular basis. Try to keep track of when gatherings are and attend if at all possible. The more games you play and the more advice you get, the better your game will get.

Just came back from Sunday church, feeling NICE!!! Just make sure you don't roll the joystick from up to down-forward/back. just practice that...it's just something you get use to doing.

WB comp for Marvel is near non existent as far as I could tell today (I popped in to play for a couple of hours). Leslie (came 7th in CvS2 last WB tourney) was pretty good with Magneto/Storm/Iron Man but otherwise I didn't see anyone else worth mentioning and one of the other players said Leslie is their best player (who's maybe a hair better than me).

You guys should hold a MvC2 tourney at EMTC this coming Friday or even... TOMORROW! With Gerjay in England and Bryan banned, the tourney might actually have... GASP... someone else winning.

My sentiments exactly. Belfour literally carried the team on his beat up back this entire series. Ottawa outplayed them the whole way through and it was only the stellar play of Ed Belfour that kept Toronto from being descimated. Today's game was a great relief as I was worried the team wouldn't be up to the challenge and was happy to see them win but play like that can't carry over, especially considering the Flyers are well rested, have home ice and play a far more physical style than the Senators.

And like I said...I cheer for teams that help me win money. Toronto guaranteed me money for the season pool, as my only competition was heavily on Ottawa and Vancouver. So dont jump the gun and say im a leaf fan, when im not.

I think I'll side a little with Mat on this one, because

a) Eddie did carry them, but so what? He is the goalie, that is his job. If Lalime could have carried the Sens, things would have been different.

b) Domi played like a fucking champ, he worked his ass off and deserves credit. Hey, game 5 he gets a lucky bounce, so fucking what, he worked for it, and even the top scoring players of all time take whatever they can get.

c) Ottawa may have outplayed the Leafs, but just like in the past, the Leafs showed a lot more tenacity and drive. It seemed the shut out wins drained Ottawa, and their game 6 win wasn't enough to save them.

All in all, I did see a lot more skill on Ottawa's side, especially when it came to setting up oppertunities, however, they couldn't come through, Eddie's a beast, and the Leafs are through, fucking right!

HAHA! That's always the pro sports trump card. You never played so you don't have any right to criticize. It's also the weakest shit you can come across for an arguement considering the vast majority of sports columnists, radio personalities, bookies, etc... never played the game either but they're entitled to their opinion and heralded by many for said opinions.

Belfour should be acclaimed for his work, I never said otherwise. I did say that his continued need to play at that level as a result of the lackadasical approach of his teammates will result in problems later on. Their own coach said so in the post game. As for being a Leafs fan, I'm sure I've spent more than my fair share of time watching games with friends over the regular season and during the playoffs over the fifteen years to say I'm a leafs fan. Not to mention money plugged into tickets, clothing, and other peraphanelia.

On a side note; I do respect the work ethic of the Calgary Flames. I also respect the fact they made me $100. :D

Belfour should be acclaimed for his work, I never said otherwise. I did say that his continued need to play at that level as a result of the lackadasical approach of his teammates will result in problems later on. Their own coach said so in the post game. As for being a Leafs fan, I'm sure I've spent more than my fair share of time watching games with friends over the regular season and during the playoffs over the fifteen years to say I'm a leafs fan. Not to mention money plugged into tickets, clothing, and other peraphanelia.

The latter rather than the former.

Jerris; Wigfall didn't look that impressive on the EVO2K3 discs (though he did get 5th IIRC). If you get a chance to look at the UMvC2 DVD's then you'll see a lot more footage of his play and why his rushdown MSP is to be feared.
