shit 2000+ truly sucks even at this point with almost no arcades to play at and as desperate as i am to play games i still didn't derive any kind of pleasure from my short stay there....the sullen & barren ambience of the place was enough the turn off my craving for games...and this time for good :bluu:
anyhow the always vacant (not counting the occasional presence of nadir) cabinet of mvc2 sufficed to cut short my desire for game playing........................................... .......

and one of the guys who works there is a certified butthole man whenever i have a 5$ or a 10$ bill and i just want to change for 0.50$ or 0.75$ he tells me that he has no change!!!! now what kind of lousy stategem to get people to get people to spend more is that????? i was simply astounded by that but i didn't say anything lol how could an arcade possibly not have change??? i'm sure plenty of kids come with only 0.25 or 0.50$ in their pockets and those quarters can't possibly disapear into thin air....
it's hard to imagine that such a low-grade arcade is still in business

but seriously, msp or msc take too much skills to get to the next level :p sentinel/cyc is kinda weak compared to sentinel/capcom

Try msc to have a better chance at beating sentinel/capcom BS and practice a lot with Storm.

I'm not going to ECC anymore, since CvS2 will most likely be on console. I don't want my first US tournament to be a console one. I was thinking of going just for 3S (since it's going to be on arcade) but going for one game isn't really worth it, in my opinion.

Looks like MWC will be the only tournament I'll go to, if people are still planning to go. Hopefully this one won't be console-ized.

I really don't think it will make a difference to your experience if it's on consoles or not, and over the years I learned that it's more enjoyable to go to tourneys just to have a good time and meet people rather than just being a hardcore gamer.

Anyway I'm not trying to force you to come or anything, I don't care.. but consoles won't make a difference to your overall enjoyment, and there will be a CVS2 cabinet for casual play and all the top 5 CVS2 matches will be on arcade.

Besides, there's probably only a 25% chance that I'm going to MWC. 30 hours on the road can turn someone mad

You make a good point, 30 hours on the road will make me not want to go (even if I'm not driving). I remember flowcus came back from ECC8 and he said he had a blast and he learnt new grooves/characters and tricks.

If you, Alex, Will and Veasna are going for sure then I would probably reconsider. However, I really hate playing on console... Atleast my favorite game is on cabinet.

I didn't know that there were still other people playing that game there besides Nadir... whenever i make a trip there whether it's on the weekend or on a weekday I always finD myself playing against the computer because the MVC2 cabinet is unfailingly unoccupied
but when do you usualy go to 2000+ (assuming you haven't already given up on that damned place altogether)? who knows maybe i've played you before...well enough said for now my workplace is within a walking distance of downtown and i only work about 5hours a day or less (usualy from 8am-1pm) so i can get down there pretty much anytime...so let me know when you're planing to go to 2000+ again........I think this friday is a holyday so i'll probably get off work super early in the evening so i can either head directly downtown or travel the extra mile if the majority of mvc2 players are going to mira

I went to 2000+ today after my job anticipating some degree of excitement and amusement but to my dismay it once again proved to be an unqualified desapointment...there was an impressive population of 1 person playing mvc2 during the whole 2hours i stayed there...in addition dashing which should normaly be an simple and effortless task was extremely arduous and and an uphill work the whole time...at least 2 dashes out of 5 went amiss and needless to say i couldn't connect anything whatsoever
funny how much we all complain about 2000+ but we still go there but the truth of the matter is there is nowhere else to go in downtown and continuing to complain about it will just make me sound like nagging bitch

Yeah the students at dawson don't have spring breaks but they get to finish 1week or so before students from other schools
Speaking of Dawson I still have tons of school books i can sell and make money from!!!

Compared to Vanier Dawson is a very good school and believe me I would know because i went to both schools. Vanier has such a depressing atmosphere about it attending that school for 2years is enough to make a student schizophrenic. I couldn't even find a place to eat during my breaks at vanier because it's in the middle of nowhere!!!!!

On the other hand it's difficult to stay focused and refrain from cutting classed at dawson because of all the attraction centers surrounding it...I was able to hold off the overmastering urge to skip classes (to go to l'anjeu) for 1-2years but it didn't take long before i gave in to the temptation and the next thing i know i just missed an exam which counted for 30% of the final grade...the above sentence is pretty self-explanatory as to why i got expelled lol

That's why I'm asking people to stay away from that school. There is also the fact that all students that I know (from Dawson) don't take their studies seriously, change their field often, or just simply quit. All jokes aside if you've narrowed down your list of potential cegeps down to Dawson and Vanier the final decision should be quite easy to make...in my opinion Dawson is superior to Vanier in every conceivable aspect whether it's the teaching quality the location efficiency the schedule flexibility or just the atmosphere in general Dawson takes the cake man...not once was i bored during my breaks at Dawson i was always able find something to do to while my time away!!! i enjoyed the 2.5 years i spent there despite the fact that i didn't graduate!!! and to think that i only had 1 more semester to go in order to get a diploma :mad:


However if you also have french cegeps in mind then i won't be of much assistance man all i can say is that Ahuntsic is a very tough school that it sure is lol
right from the first week or even from the first class i was showered and overwhelmed with homeworks and coming from a school like dawson where i usualy start buying my school books only 2weeks into the semester, i was utterly unprepared for that kind of stuff...french teachers from french cegeps tend to go a little overboard when it comes to homeworks one of them assigned the class 3books to read in 2months...that was sufficient to make me realise that i wasn't going to make it past the first semester so i just made the student privilege card for STM bus pass and canceled my registration after 2weeks

My friends and I have always harbored the idea of organizing a MCV2 tournament on console but we just never got around to actualy carrying it out and the project was eventualy dropped due to the sparse and inadequate number of interested people. If we can find a considerable number of players (10-15) then i can surely talk to my friend about it anew so we can have the tournament at his house or something. Simply bear in mind that we're no hardcore players and having the tournament is in no way a course of action that we're taking to determine who the best mvc2 player in montreal is :lol:

but i won't be able to make it down there this evening on account of the fact that i start work very early tomorow....i seldom to go arcades at such late hours these days for that matter...it's no longer part of my routine...i used to do that on a customary basis back when Daniel Amusement was still in existence because no matter how early in the morning or how late in the evening it was the place was immutably littered with challengers (whether good or mediocre) which made every time-consuming trip from my home area to downtown worthwhile....but 2000+ is a completely different matter the place just fails to deliver in every aspect so the only time i swing by is when i happen to pass by on my way to somewhere or when my errands take near there....moreover i live on the other end of the island so i don't realy fancy the idea of coming back home at midnight and that feeling is only accentuated by the fact that i don't own a driving licence and the drudgery of using public transportation late at night suffices to deter me from going there late at night...i'm sure anyone who lives as far as i do knows what i'm talking about here
anyway.... should you have any suggestions or ideas as to how this small-scale tournament should be orgazined you can always contact me through MSN

reason : the park is right next to metro longueuil... u can walk from metro longueuil and it takes 5 minutes to get to the park...

Hi, I'm just posting to see if any local Montreal guys can help me out. I don't post much on srk much anymore, but back in the days when I was around more, I knew you srk guys to be very helpful bunch.

Ok, here's my situation: I'm supposed to be buying some car parts off of some guy in Montreal. He doesn't seem too shady, but he is extremely suspicious to me. I've already sent him several hundred dollars for a spoiler, and so far everything seems ok. But I'm about to get some wheels off of him, which is going to cost me in excess of a grand. Before I send him anymore money, I'd like to have a local guy go meet up with this guy and see if he is legit. I don't really need for you to do much, just go and meet him somewhere and have him show you the wheels. I'm sure having a local guy visiting him will help prevent him from trying anything. At the very least, it'll strike a little fear in him of having people that know where he lives and whatnot. If there is anyone willing to help, I'll get his phone number and address or something so you can work something out with him locally. I understand this is incredibly out the blue, but I needed to find some reliable people in Montreal, and this is the first place I thought of.

By the way, I'm all the way across the country in Calgary if anyone is wondering why I don't pay this guy a visit myself.

Seams like a lot of you have never played without a goaly :confused: it's easy, just use two objects (stones, bags, anything) place them on a straight line and separate them by like a 1m. Do this on both ends of the court and you're all set :)
