Sigh, and illiterate. Sigh again, I think I am gonna go lose in Tekken some more, then probably lose in DMC 3, then cry about how much I suck and can't read or drive.
At least I'm good looking...
And no HK, it seems that me and infinidragon got you beat in pure lazyness powers. *remembers the simpsons episode where homer had the lazy fight with the teamsters* I guess you'd be Homer and me and Infini would be the teamsters.

Oh yeah GT4 is crazy with the wheel. That is just like real life driving, I could tell by how horrible I was doing. Of course driving on a rally course with a ford focus at 80 miles per hours and not using the break really wasn't the smartest thing to do considering I am a loser who doesn't have his drivers license at 19 yet.
I'm turning 20 today, still no license, which I would've had if not for being unable to parallel park, which I could do perfectly right after the assessment. I'm not interested in sulking over it, though.

GT4 with the wheel is sick. Probably the closest I will ever get to driving a good car in a circuit. I thought I was lazy too when I got my license at 17. I held out because I didn't want to take my road test in the winter.

Katamari: I am at the 9th star, and I have also made the North Star. Been rolling up buildings other large objects. Im trying to make the exact 10M start but its tough! Ive gotten 7M and 11M... but no 10 yet. I will keep trying. Anyone know how precise the king wants you to be about hitting 10M? I mean is it ok as long as it's at least 10 but not over 10??
a-chan, how the heck did you get past Make a Star 7? I've been stuck on that one for a while now. I've come so close to getting the right amount at the last minute but time runs out. And yeah, no matter what you do, the King will always down on you. BTW how many gifts have you found? I've only found 2: crown and a scarf. Rolling with a crown rocks.
As for GBA NES Castlevania, I cannot get past Frankie yet I've was soooooooo close yesterday!! I only had to hit him ONE MORE FREAKING TIME AAND HE WOULD HAVE BEEN DEAD!!! That little pest hoping around is the biggest annoyance in the fight. AAGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

hrrmm, i dont remeber which level star 7 was. I will play it later today to remember the stage and let you know the strategy used. :) But it took me several tries to beat, 6,7, and 8. 8 was tough but fun ^_^
anyway as for presents, I have the scarf, and we found another one but it popped off the katamari before the round was over :(

so I-ninja is good? I was thinking about picking that one up too.Well, I'm enjoying it, at least. I remember everything with Sonic Heroes, though, so I'm reluctant to actually recommend it to you. But I can say that at least I'm having fun with it. Like I said, it feels like a wacky cross between Ninja Gaiden and Sonic the Hedgehog, with a bit of a beat-'em-up flavor. There are lots of special parts where the gameplay changes, too. Like some cannon-shooting segments, and several places where you have to roll a ball down a track or across small or moving platforms. The first boss is even a boxing match similar to Super Punch-Out.
It isn't particularly hard, though. So don't expect much of a challenge. But I think it's fun.

LOL no worries, I thought I was going to like Sonic Heroes as well.
but I-ninja does look really fun. and as long as a game is fun it doesnt matter how hard or easy it is to me. I was a huge spyro fan. The games (first 2) were ridiculously easy, but they were so much fun to play.
But I think I will go ahead and get I-ninja and I'll let you know. :) But its going to be a while. I have to finish Xenosaga 2 and KOTOR first. So honestly it will prolyl be at least a month till I play it. :D

I'm currently playing FF2 for the SNES. Good times, good times. About 6 hours into the game, just got Edge and stuff. Gotta go to the cave of summoned monsters and the moon.
Anyone else think the music in this game was totally awesome for the time era that it came out in?
Ah, FF4...good times, indeed. If you weren't so far in, I would've recommended the translated ROM, gets the characters more accurately and dtiches the edited stuff in the US version (it's a scythe over Rosa's head, not a steel ball dammit!). But even still, FF4 is the most badass OG FF IMO, so good on you.
P.S. And Shion still sucks.

and how is Y's Ark of Nepishtim? Is that something that can played by people who are new to Y's?? or do you have to start at the beginning?
Ehhh I honestly can't quite bridge the generation gap when it comes to Y's. My prior Y's experience to AoN was only on 8-bit systems (Sega Master System and Japanese NES). The Turbografx CD and 16-bit Y's games have pretty much slipped right by me.
But I tell you one thing though. It's not a bumper car fest like the older Y's games were.
EDIT: My Swap 3.3 boot discs came in. Enjoying Japanese PS2 GGXX#R in my newly made over PS2 in a loud green see-thru shell with a flip top. Since I haven't played enough #Reload to understand all the character changes, it's finally taken me a toll on Sol Badguy. Only gun flames can be FRC'ed, and #Reload dust loops are really frustrating to pull off, so I might have to brainstorm a new setup game.

Hmm I am playing the translated rom, but I guess I got the wrong one, cause it [i]was[/b] a steel ball over Rosa's head. Ah well. The US version was the first game I got for SNES when I had it. :pleased:
I'm thinking of playing FF3 after this, not sure yet. I also have FF7 for computer. It all comes down to a matter of having enough time for these games. :D

So I'm playing Xenosaga 2...
And it sucks. It's like they took the first game and made everything marginally worse. Hire bad voice actors? Check. Create ugly character designs? Check. Ruin the battle system? Check.
The battles really annoy me. Maybe I'm doing something wrong...but they take me at least 5 minutes to complete. Stock for 3 rounds -> Use Medica All -> Kill things. Every damn battle. The whole break zone thing is interesting only for a short time.
And the biggest crime of all: KOS-MOS. She is my fav character and there doesn't seem to be much focus on her. Granted, I'm not far into the game, but I'm about 8 hours in (7 and a half of which are cutscenes) and she has had one line. I'm so sick of hearing about Rubedo....

To anyone who works at EB...how much credit can I get for the Halo 2 SE. I'm gonna trade this in and get DMC3 tomorrow maybe, maybe, maaaayyyyybeeee get SFAC on Xbox. Got SFAC on PS2 and playing it on the T5 stick is too beautiful. So we'll see......
Probably going to look for SF Alpha 3 on the PS as well.
Started getting back into VF4 awhile ago after I got the T5 stick. This game is too good. BEST. FIGHTER. EVER. and just straight up one of the best games ever. I just wish FT would make it to console but then that would probably overkill(SF2 back in the days) even tho' they made some more changes and (somehow even moreso) improvements from what I've read....
Starting to play DOA2U online as well. Having alot of fun...except that every SS rank I play, there is lag. Nobody else I play with will lag, but once an SS and me go at it it's lag city. I doubt it's a coincedince either....
Should start playing T5 some more since I got it and need to still need to unlock all the characters, but it get boring just juggling the cpu all the time. Find a move with a charcter that pops them up, hit a couple times in the air rinse and repeat....

From what I was told, you don't get anymore for the SE, so you can keep the boxed set and tin and just trade in the game if you want. So far, it's $30 trade-in deal, if I remember correctly.

Well status report of DMC 3 is it's awesome.
They took all the coolness and notched it up like 34 levels of bamitude.
So far I like the Gunslinger style the best, mainly because thats the only style I've played as. And as the grandmaster of Gunfu, it naturally appeals to me.
If only it had graphics like Ninja Gaiden. Sigh. Camera is a little goofy sometimes too, but I'm loving it so far. It's just like DMC 1. It's not that hard, people just suck at Devil May Cry I guess.

Holy crap dude, I just played THE best game of Madden ever.
Franchise, SF vs Seattle. Game starts out a little dull. 3 and outs, with a pick from Julian Peterson on Hasslebeck in his own endzone (JP doesn't take it to the house though...). So by the end of the first half, it's 6-3. Really close.
So fast forward to the 4th quarter where it's (SF) 20 - (SEATTLE) 13, with 2: 30 seconds left. Hawks hurry huddle all the way up to the endzone and one of my starting MLBs gets injured on the drive. So I have a back up in. They exploit that weakness by firing over the middle to score a TD. So they tie the game up.
They kick it off and I decide I'm going to score with a minute left. I come out and throw a pic. They decide because they're close to run the ball, so I stack the line and call SS blitzes. I make them lose a couple but it's still pretty good range. They line up for the last second field goal, they kick it off and it BARELY hits the upright and bounces off. So I just ran it to get into over time.
I went down the field and kicked a field goal for the clutch win. Goddamn that shit was a greatest game of Madden ever. I think I have the right AI settings to make it more realistic. (The CPU actually racked up rushing yards against me instead of throwing every down).

Web-slinging in Spider-Man 2 has got to be one of the best experiences in all of gaming. Even after doing it all this time, I'm still not sick of it. It is even better when you swing to some of your own music. Sure it is the PS2 version of Spider-Man 2, but I just mute the volume, put on some head phones and listen to some awesome techno trance beats. I was swining to TATU's Not Gonna Get Us and beating up punks to SNK's Get Up and Move (AWESOME song. Heard it for the first time last night). I doubt flying will ever be on the same level of awesomeness as web-slinging is in games.

I just recently beaten MGS3:SE. That was an enjoyable experience. I beat the game in about 30 hrs or so.
SPOLIER
The sequence in MGS 3 where you get chased by the shagohod (http://image.com.com/gamespot/images/2004/reviews/914828_20041116_screen014.jpg) is one of the best if not the best sequences I have seen in a game.
The music gets you really into the chase scene. When you get control of Snake you will be in the sidecar of Eva's motorcycle...with unlimited ammo. Shoot anyone and everyone who is in the way. Please use the rocket launcher that is so much fun. Especially since u have unlimited ammo
T5 is golden. I really like Feng Wei and Asuka. I enjoy Askua alot since she has good set of combos you can unleash. Feng is a quick SOB. But I won't be playing it until i finish xenosaga 2. thank god i am renting this average game.

anyway, is it still fun??For the most part. A couple of levels had you sneak past these robots that couldn't be killed, and if they spotted you, they teleported you back to the beginning of their patrol zone. Those two levels were frustrating. Other than that, yes. The game has gotten a little challenging, too, as I actually had to work for my win against the fourth boss. Some of the "challenges" that you can pay the guardians to play were pretty tough, too. In the last one, you had to defeat the first boss over again, but without getting hit at all. That took me several tries. But I'm now on the moon, the final area.
I thought that I recognized Ninja's voice, so I looked through the credits in the instructional manual, and there it was: the great Billy West is the voice of Ninja.

It's official: web-slinging>>>>driving. I played some GTA: SA not long ago ad while it was fun to cap fools as usual, driving just does feel how it used to feel. Swing around a virtural NY in Spidey 2 has really spoiled me. I mean, the means of travel in Spidey 2 is just web-sling sure, but it is a million times more fun than driving a car, motorcycle, or helecopter. Swinging on webs, climbing higher and higher is just more fun to me. Of course when it comes to more stuff to do, GTA: SA easily wins the day. But by means of travel, Spidey 2 is king. BTW, anyone else that has played Spidey 2 and has been to NY. Is the representation of NY in the game pretty accurate to the real life NY? Even if it isn't the city still looks pretty good.
EDIT: All this talk of I-Ninja has gotten me thinking. I've wanted to buy the game for some time now and I get find it pretty cheap at my local EB games for just $11 used. Maybe I'll pick it up this week.

The next Hulk game will have that free-roam element too^. So of course, I can't wait! It's one of my most anticipated games of the year, actually. Hulk + free-roam = how could you go wrong? As long as the gameplay feels right, and I can destroy lots of things and people...it will be good to me. That's all I'm asking of this game. It's scheduled for a summer release so far. Hopefully it will have some cool secret stuff though, unlike Spidey 2.
PSO - Dookieman is about to level up to 126 in 2 more SoaB quest runs. Ultimate Mines is a great place to level fast too...since there's lots of enemies; lots of exp to get...and most importantly...the Canabin Ring trick! Kill a Canabin ring 5 times = 12,160 points! With a FOnewm like Dookieman that currently does about 441 points of damage for each canabin on each Rafoie blast...killing the ring once actually takes probably in the neighborhood of 10 seconds or less! The only thing slowing this trick down is the load screens when you go back and forth between Pioneer and Mines. Heh, of course 10 canabin ring kills = 24,320!
In other PSO news...I'm so late on this...I'm JUST now finding out about the telepipe-thru-door trick! Basically, you drop telepipe to go back to Pioneer, go back, and move a bit forward and drop another tp as soon as you show up, and repeat...and eventually you just kinda "clip" through the door.

sheesh. got a lot of free time remy??
It takes me weeks to finish a game now. Short games take like 2 weeks, and an RPG will take a month.
but there nothing new you havent played or want to play? or anything old that you skipped?
Xenosaga 2 update: I have moved back into the Encephalon dive inot Momo's head, and Im in the winter version. Things are moving much much faster without having to watch the ton of FMV scenes. It has taken about 8 hours to get back to this point and since I have the book now, I am doing all the sidequests like the GS path stuff. Although I have to admit I havent seen a more useless bunch of side quests in an RPG in a long time. I mean they really had to stretch for these. They REALLY should NOT have fired the writer. I understand there is a certain about of "busywork" in an rpg, but these are just retarded. and since they dont really involve mini games, they are kinda boring too.
So far this whole game went from a great RPG in episode one to a really medicore one in this chapter. The general flow of the game and the story are really suffering from Namco's great decision to overhaul the writing team.... you really have to wonder what they were thinking. but somehow im sure it was a money issue. If this second game continues in its medocrity then I wont be playing the third game.

^^I'm soo glad that I didn't get that game, in that case. If I want to watch something, I'll go rent an anime or movie, ktx.
I got back to Eternal Fighter Zero today and went through arcade mode twice, which I haven't done in about a week. This game is addictive as hell.
Im not sorry I bought the game,(yet) im just sorry I paid full price for it. I wish i had waited for a couple of months.
I got Beowulf in DMC3 finally, a bit slow but Shinshoryuken XX Shinkuu Tatsumaki is tight and nothing lives through it
Damn you
i have a copy of persona 2 and the strat guide for it, if you want it just thought id let you know because i am willing to sell it...

sheesh. got a lot of free time remy??
It takes me weeks to finish a game now. Short games take like 2 weeks, and an RPG will take a month.
but there nothing new you havent played or want to play? or anything old that you skipped?Pretty much. I work about 45 hrs. a week at Pizza Hut, and other than that my time is my own. FYI, I don't live with my parents, either, I room with two co-workers (otherwise I'd get bitched at for so much gaming).
And actually, I really can't think of anything that I want to play but haven't. I did hear about a new Freedom Force title, but that's not for another month or two. And there are 3 DS games that I'm looking forward to, but again they're a few months away. And the GBA MegaMan collection, but yet again, not till June.
I'll prolly work on hard mode on Metroid Prime. I never did finish that and unlock the other image gallery. I also still have about half of the chambers to unlock in Viewtiful Joe 2, but I really didn't care for 2 much, so I doubt I'll play that.

Well I beat GGX on Story mode with everyone. Now I just gotta go down everyone's alternate paths. Yaaaaaay.
Only 2 more days until I can enjoy the sweet goodness of Alpha 3 again. Gah!!! I'm tired of waiting!!!! GIMME!! I want it now!! NOW!!!
All that talk of Mega Man music in that MM Music thread got me nostalgic to play some classic MM games. So I got out the MMAC for PS2. Haven't played it yet but I plan to today while I'm still free. Gotta go back to work tommorw.

I'm in Summer, right next to the first save point leveling up. I'll probably advance further this weekend. It's hard to play during the week b/c I have to set aside at least an hour for cutscenes.

i know what you mean...
on the leveling up, you honestly dont really need to level up here unless you like being super overpowered. If you fight all the Gnossis in the areas at least once then you will be more than strong enough for the boss fights.

cheh,
WHY does Champions of Norrath and Return to Arms have to be ps2 exclusive?! It sucks because I still want to avoid ps2 like I've said many times before....yet those games are excellent! I love a good real-time hack/slash rpg. I was at a friend's house yesterday, and we moved our old characters over to Return to Arms, which he bought recently....
------------
And so was the return....of the Dark Elf, Chojin, and his powerful allies. Disease Trail(aka "toxic fart") was just as useful and funny as ever. But then the Chojin discovered another power....he evolved and then found the greatness that was the Summon Skeleton ability! "Skeleton Dude" would occasionally appear to be enchanted...which the Chojin dubbed Soul Glow™. Before the day's adventures ended, Skeleton Dude was definitely a valuable occasional 4th team mate, as he was leveled up to 20 with a 50% chance of having the Soul Glow™.
Chojin also had a new appearance that was more disturbing and horrific than ever before...a metallic helmet that was cast in the likeness of a deer's skull....his armour was all dark and drab in color, which was a perfect fit with his soul, his heritage, and his destiny.
---------
anyway, yeah I LOVE this game as much as the regular "Champions of Norrath". I will eventually have to get a ps2 to continue The Chojin Myth. My friend was level 37, I was 23 or 24, and his wife's character was 28. My "Skeleton Dude with Occasional Soul Glow" was quite a valuable asset against some ugly giant characters we fought on 2 island/tropical areas.

What's so good about that? I remember getting the "game" a year and a half ago, and I couldnt play it after a few hours of game because it sucked. The battles weren't good, the story was ass.
It felt like an inferior everything.

EX-Sucker Punch: Yeah tell me about it. I remember when FF3(6) came out back in '94, shit was around $80-90 in some stores. I had to wait 6 months or so, so I could get it for about $72.
Way back in the day, got games like Mega Man 2 and Ninja Gaiden for like 70.
Shit was wild. That wouldn't fly now at all. Those days, places like blockbuster and earl's video and stuff like that had big business. It was more worth it to rent a game, cause back then i dont even remember stores having trade in deals until the appearane of stores like Funco-land, and when toys r us did it. So you bought the game, that's it.
When I got CT back in early 95 or whatever year it was, it was about $55-60 for me.
EDIT: Oh shit and games like Mortal Kombat 2. Got that joint day one, on SNES. 70+
Damn games were really expensive, moreso than now by a longshot.

Well we also gotta consider how much work was put into a cartridge as opposed to a CD. All the chips they had to stuff in prolly added on to the budget.

I remember expensive carts being rare...most games were like 49 or 54.99. I think (snes)Street Fighter 2 was the only game I had that was either 59.99 or 69.99. I think TMNT: The Arcade Game for NES was 59 when it came out....but again, that was rare from what I remember.
Neo Geo was the one that was rediculous --a Neo game that was 85 or 90 bucks was actually considered "cheap". I don't think anyone in my school had that system....there were only rumors like: "Tasha's bro that goes to Southside...he got one." Never someone I knew of more directly...always a stepbrother of a cousin's girlfriend that goes to another school. heh, I remember showing mom the Neo Geo in a Sears Wishbook(*I LOVED those catalogs!), and she saw the price and started laughing. I was laughing too....it was actually a bit of a bonding moment.

Actually, there was a NeoGeo "Gold" system. NG came in a choice of 3 different packages/setups...and I think Gold was like the premium, top-level pack....it came with 2 controllers, and most likely 3 or more games...and of course it was the most expensive setup = 700 bucks, I think. (*the "cheap" set was 500, if I recall)
Not sure if I mentioned it before...but my friend has the DS....it actually looks better than what I remember from in-store demos. The screen is perfect --bright(*actual backlighting, I assume!?), clear, and sharp. The graphics on the Mario 64 port were much more crisp than I remember on the N64 original....still, it felt awkward to move around in that game with just a D-pad....and I usually prefer D-pad to analog sticks.
*also, I don't see how people could say "well that screen will get scratched up quickly"....it only requires a slight touch with the stylus to activate. It's not like you're actually writing something with a pen or pencil. I barely tapped the on-screen button prompts, and that seemed to be good enough for the system to recognize it. Still, I need a better selection of games to come out. The launch lineup for DS was kind of pitiful, imo. Perhaps it was the fact that I just wasn't really into Mario 64 like a lot of other Mario fans....(*I still say SMB3 is so far the best super mario game ever. I STILL play it on my GBA now.)
But yeah, they gotta get something going on now rather than later...or PSP(despite having the typical questionable Sony "hardware quality") will CRUSH the DS. DS is in desparate need of some real system-sellers....cuz PSP is already set to come out with quite a strong launch lineup. They have Darkstalkers, which scores big cool points from me...and then they have a Twisted Metal game on top of that! I can't remember what else caught my eye right now, but just that combination there is already serious business, imo.

heh, speaking of Mario, I was playing SMAdvance 4(smb3+MarioBros.) yet again while waiting on the car(service/maintenence)...I played more regular Mario Bros....even that one is still fun to me. I got a new high score that was over 200,000....I finally died on "phase 24" or 25....things get kinda crazy around that point in the game, with the ice enemies showing up constantly, and ice stalactites falling, AND random fireballs(red and blue...heh, bluefireballs), with the now super-fast regular enemies; crabs, flies, and spiny turtles.
On Mario 3, I just played around in World 1 again, with my Hammer Bros. suit of course. I lost it, but thankfully I have about 5 of them in inventory, so it's no major loss.
*I "acquired" the new Xbox mag demo today...and I'll play it later. This one has Unreal 2(*or whatever they're up to now with the added melee/3rd person abilities) on it!
*completely off-topic = VIDA is in FHM yet again. The pictures are spectacular as usual.
*back on = yes, I'm also looking forward to Jade Empire. The character with the samurai style outfit/mask on the current egm looks too tight. I like those old japanese masks, and the samurai armour style is always cool.

There is going to be an annoying boss battle and you are not going to like it later on. This will occur once you are finishing the area. I am not going to ruin it for you, let's say it will take a while against a boss character you have dealt with from the first game. At times I just play it out of boredom.
JetEnduro: Yeah it is a bit sad, but I didnt lose the battle on the first try, it was just that most of my characters don't have medica 2 or medica all at the time. Also, i wasn't in the mood trying to make them stronger. I am playing until I finished this and get DMC 3.

My first fight with Level 4 went badly then I figured out the combo. and then the second try i killed him with two combos.
strange: the secret key 5 is actually behind the segment door. You will have to wait until you have the segment address key to get in. Once you have it you can do another encephalon dive back to this place and pick it up.

:wow: I hate that I've missed out on Unreal all this time!!! I just played the new Xbox demo...oh...this is destined to become one of my new favorite games of all time. It's so tight in so many ways...and I'm just a first time player here...only scratching the very surface of greatness here. So far, I'm loving everything about it. It's like Halo and Quake...on steroids. I had so much fun just with the extremely short # of weapons that's in the demo. It seems a bit overwhelming at first too...there's already so much depth potential here, it's crazy. The graphics are gorgeous, I like the character designs, the control is tight, the melee fighting is cool, the maps are incredible....really, where is the flaw in this? I will be all over this game immediately when it comes out. This instantly takes top priority on my list of games to buy.
The learning curve seems a bit intimidating to say the least though...I'm barely keeping up with cpu characters!
Flying across large areas of a map like a superhero is SO cool. People could probably easily take advantage of the lag time when you start that move though....I'm guessing...
Most likely, I'll be playing the demo for the rest of the tonight.

-try attacking after her cloak spin or her backflip, especially when she stops to laugh
-you should have enough time to hit her with Rebellion's 3 hit combo about 3 times before having to jump out of the way of the void (if you still have trouble, equip Trickster at lv. 2 or higher to avoid it with Sky Star)
-when the floor begins to glow, jump to avoid getting shocked
-when her health is low, she'll try to drain your life; when this happens, stay a float with E&I as she draws near, coming down with Rebellion's Helm Breaker shortly after

Try playing Katamari Damacy with at least 5 of your friends in the room watching. Fun for them watching it as much as playing because of the random comments flying around especially about the game's soundtrack. hell we even went thru bouts of chanting when things get exciting.

I should really read up cuz this stuff is probably nothing new to the series...or is it?
While the idea of Adrenaline Skills is nothing new the series, several of the ones in this game are new, as is having certain ones linked to certain characters. In the previous Championship, there were four, and everyone got them all:
Invisibilty
Regenration (slowly increases health and armor until maxed)
Agility (speed up)
Berserker (damage enhancer)

Do I have to start a new game for those to work? I input the Code code then the voice code and it didn't work for my save file.
Right now, I'm playing Devil May Cry 3. This'll be the last game of '05 that I'll be playing for a while, since there is nothing good coming out on the horizon. Which is fine, since I'm very behind in my games.
I'm also still playing Final Fantasy Tactics Advance. I love this game. In fact, if not for the judges and the weak story, this game would be better than Final Fantasy Tactics. I've so far clocked almost 200 hours and I'm on pace to double that number...which won't beat my 600+ hours with Final Fantasy Tactics, but it'll take a comfortable 2nd place.
I still have my Metroid Prime 1+2, La Pucelle Tactics, and Valkyrie's Profile to beat, but after DMC 3, I'm going to play an current-gen RPG (one of the 5 that I would like to get). And after FFTA, I'm playing Legend of Zelda: Minish Cap.

Just finished Xenogears for the 2nd time, to let the story sink in. Very good game.
Currently playing Resident Evil 4. Way too fun, but I don't play till it's dark outside so I can get in the mood and everything. Really, it's wayy better that way. Crank up the volume turn off the lights and you're set.
I'm getting some Rogue Sqaudron 2 on the side, and I jus bought Metroid Prime. I'll play that when I'm done with RE4.

Xenosaga update:
I am now in unfamiliar territory as I have finally passsed the point where I restarted last week. So i just finished the Orgulla fight in the ormus stronghold. That was a tough fight! i did beat it on my first attempt, but it got pretty hairy there for a few moments when she was in her second stance. I thought I was going to have to redo that one. The fight I did have to retry was the second Pilum and Scutum fight. the fight really wasnt that tough. It was just that stupid super weapon that one of them calls out and it basically just straight out kills one of my ES units. Even from full health... anyway according to the book, i have one more boss fight coming up before the end of ormus. the game is moving along much better now that its not flooded with FMV.
RE4 update: all mercenaries missions have now been passed with a 5 star rating. tonight SMB and I are going to restart the game with the new hand cannon, and we are also going to try to get the chicago typewriter.
Oneweapon: xenosaga 1??
and for RE4, its really not scary. so waiting until dark wont really help the mood. I used to do that for RE remake and it was cool, but IMO waiting until dark doesnt really help RE4 because its just not scary.

Games I played on Monday:
MvC2: Got owned hardcore by both Brandon and Justin. One match I had with Justin didn't even last for a minute. :wow: On the other hand, I did almost win when Rogue was all I had left and I got him down to a 1-man team. Other than that: Them>Me
Halo 2: I finally got to see what the buzz was about. I admit that it isn't the be all, end all that everyone makes it out to be but it is a pretty tight game. Co-op rules!! And it is soooo nice to have AI allies that don't suck.
Garu/Fatal Fury: Mark of The Wolves: On man, what a sweet, sweet 2D fighter for the DC. I'd heard of it and read some reviews on it but I never thought I'd play it. The 2D fighting is just gold. I've never played a Fatl Fury game before (thought about getting the SNES version but I knew it wouldn't hold up to the arcade/Neo-Geo versions) but now I've got to track down the DC masterpiece. I even owned Justin with Terry!!!
Thunder Fove V: I got to show off my mad skills at old-school shmups. Good, fun game. HARD.
'Twas a great day for gaming.

Well, I found something interesting in the cheap bin yesterday...
Pitfall: The Lost Expedition
Apparently, it came out last year, but I never heard anything about it. But, seeing as it was only $10, I snatched that up. Especially since I loved the Pitfall: The Mayan Adventure on SNES, and I even remember the Atari 2600 Pitfall (though I can't say that I liked that one).
So far, the game seems decently enjoyable, though not like anything particularly spectacular. Although I did only play it for about 30 minutes before passing out last night.

Slow going in RE4. School is somewhat killing me with work but I managed to get to the part where you first get Ashley on Thursday. I just picked up the game today and made it to the part where you are hold up in the house with Luis (or whatever the dude that sounds like he was in Extreme Ghostbusters name is).
Only really scary part technically shouldn't have been scary. Seriously after fighting Gigante I know I saw the mutant dogs in the rain but for some reason (possibly flashing back to the dog that helped me in the fight I didn't try to shoot it until it was already knawing on my face.

Since I left my PS2 memory card at my friend's place I'll have to stick to other games. So I'm getting back into MvC2 and Alpha 3. Working on improving my skills with Guy. He's one of my fav fighters in the game. For a dude that doesn't use any sort of projectiles, he's pretty tight. And his 2nd throw (the one that is a combo) is just killer. There was an expect mode?! :wtf: wow, i may head up to bargain pile and pick that up.
anyway according to the book, i have one more boss fight coming up before the end of ormus If I am not mistaken did you activated the bomb and now you are on the clock trying to escape? If that is the case there is going to be another ES boss fight. I think it is some chick with white hair. She may crush you, but you can take advantage of some of the extra accessories you get for your ES' you'll be good. Combine Jr and Jin, Kos-Mos and Ziggy and MOMO and Shion. They all have some powerful 200% level attacks. Especially Jr and Jin with "wings of light" that hits from 3500 up to 12000!. On yeah if you can get the EMAX300 or something like that then the ES' can max up to 300%.
I am still playing Xenosaga 2 and enjoying some tekken 5. Feng is pimpin right now in a white blazer, white slacks, black shirt, gangster hat and a silver belt buckle. I havent finished Star Ocean 3. I had it since august and I am over 220 hours! :wow:

LOL yea all i had to remember was that Dave halverson, my ex-boss loved it. And most anything he loves is prolly crap. (except for platformers) anyway, its not surprising that Play Magazine gave the game a good grade, along with Maxim. just remember that Maxim has no idea what they are talking about. They dont even play the games. Maxim should not be reviewing games. my co-workers and I used to get a kick out of reading what Maxim had to say about the games that are coming out.
and im glad i stayed away from sudeki. I almost bought it when I ran out of RPGs late last year. it would have been a desperation move.

Continuing with that Pitfall game. It's actually quite fun. Innovative use of the C-stick and D-pad, decent sense of humor, entertaining graphics. It kinda seems like a platformer take on the Metroid Prime formula. I like it.

I think I am going to have to sell my copy of SFAC.
I broke my awesome wireless logitech X Box controller today in a moment of pure frustraition brought on by my total amazing suckyness at the game.
I'm like 7 - 67 on X Box live. I can only take getting hit with low attacks every .5 seconds for so long. Everything I do, I get throw or hit with sweeps, and I know it's all because of how terrible I am at the game. So no more SF games for me, I'll just stick to learning to get good at Tekken now.
All I know is that I am documenting this moment of absolute faggotry with a picture so I can remember the day I spazzed out because of a stupid video game.

Right now I'm working on getting my edge back in MvC2. After the schooling I got at Brandon's earlier this week, I'm never going to play that bad again. The AI is really getting on my nerves, though. I get into a corner and they just hammer on me. I also have a new hate for facing Silver Samuri. It's almost on the same level as facing Ruby Heart on Rogue. That freak has some crazy special that works in a way similar to Collasus. On the plus side, I've found a new team I like in Mega Man, Ice Man and Ken.
On the GBA front, I've decided to take some more GBA games with me when I go out instead of just one. I may hop back into DBZ: Supersonic Warriors and Super Puzzle Fighter II: Turbo. And after seeing this awesome flash movie on New Grounds, I think I want to play Super Mario Bros. 2 on the GBA again.

All in all, a pretty fun platformer. I really liked the innovative use of the C-stick in this game. I hated the part where you had to sneak around recollecting all your gear, though. Xenosaga 2 update:
Well i almost feel like im reporting back from some German internment camp named Xenosaga 2 something something Von gut und bose. its that bad... The only reason why Im playing now is because I tend to like to finish games to say that ive finished them. that and i want as much of my $50.00 as I can get even though its a sucky 50 bucks.
I just went to Old Miltia although I havent done much other than try to complete the GS missions. Did I mention how craptastic the GS missions are? the only reason Im completing them is that some of the items will make the final battles easier. I cant believe how shitacular the GS missions are!! OMG! they didnt even bother trying to come up with fun or interesting mini games in order to complete the tasks, they just make you hike your ass back and forth between the same 3 places talking to some fucktards who have absolutely no bearing on the rest of the game. and the closest things resembling a mini-game are playing with a completely random color selecting computer, and a sliding block puzzle. FAN-FUCKING-TASTIC.
I realize that its not the writing that has slipped in xenosaga, (from the firing of the writer of the first game)its the whole fuckin game. its like they fired the original game design team and hired a crack team of partially literate raccoons. because no one else other than a woodland creature that digs around in the trash would find any of the missions they send you on entertaining or at all fun to do. If you are going to send the player on the pre-requisite fetcfh and carry missions then at the very least make it fun to do or involve a minigame of some sort.
words cannot describe how disappointed I am in this game. What a departure from the first! And all the FMV is the least of this games problems. I will finishing the game then selling it, more than likely not bothering with Xeno3 unless it get stellar reviews across the board.

It's a lot of fun (the battle system being the main draw), but it starts off slow. I've never played the first two myself, but it's not necessary to have played them in order to follow the story.
EDIT: In regards to the battle system, unlike most RPGs, it's in real time, allowing you to switch between three party members at a time (it feels more like a fighting game than anything else). A counter keeps track of the number of hits in a combo, with a bonus battle gauge awarding more benefits after wins (such as 3x EXP).
some of the basics:
X when near enemy: close range attack, referred to as short X (weak)
O when near enemy: close range attack, referred to as short O (strong)
X when far: long range attack, referred to as long X (weak)
O when far: long range attack, referred to as long O (strong)
Square: select target (can be set to auto-targetting instead)
left analog stick: movement
L2 + analog stick (or D-pad, depending on control preferences): sidestep (left, right, back)
L1/R1: toggle between characters
R2: switch between AI/manual control
-each fighter has a stamina gauge called Fury, which is spent with each attack, but gradually restores (max amount: 100%)
-weak attacks can be guarded against at 100% Fury (achieved by simply standing still), but strong attacks will cause guard crush
You can assign battle skills (special attacks) to these buttons, with the ability to cancel between them to increase damage bonuses. Holding down the button that it's assigned to performs the attack.
example: Maria - Crescent Locus (short X) --> Triple Kick (short O)
Magic is available under the name Symbology (strength depends on the user).
There's also a vs. mode that's unlockable later in the game, in which you can play against the CPU or another player (the only drawback being that the battle skill setups are all preset).

I got back into Final Fantasy 7 about 2 weeks ago. It was either this or 8. I haven't played either one in a long time, and I guess the fact that 8 was just complete and utter shit that I went with 7.
Sad thing is, after I beat 7 for like the 40th time or something, I'm probably going to play 8 again to see if I can still get things by the end of disc 1, like the Lionheart weapon.
Just recently beat Ruby Weapon with a ghetto Cloud-only strategy.
Also, I got Turtles in Time for the SNES off eBay last week, and I've been playing that off and on. Donatello used to be my fave turtle in this game; he is now replaced by Raphael.

Just got done playing Hworang's story mode in Tekken 4. Also was my first time ever playing T4. I like it but I think I'm pretty rusty since I've been out of the Tekken game for so long. And why, oh why is Heihachi sporting a diaper (Summo getup) in this game? He looks retarted in that outfit. Then again, when he has moves that can take away a quater of your life, I guess you have every right to dress like a todler. The game looks and sounds goregeous and the voice actors from what I've heard thus far, are excellent. I probably won't be pulling of any 10-hit combos anytime soon but it sure is nice to play Tekken once again.

Xenosaga 2 update:
Just got through Old Miltia, and Im about to enter the Labrynthos. This game definitely gets better when you are actually fighting. If they had more of that and less FMV and shitty GS campaigns, then the game wouldnt be quite crappy.
Next up: KOTOR

yes, hell has indeed frozen over, and I have a job! That was a bit harsh to go a little over a week with absolutely no internet connection... the Chojin Gaming Update™:
-I've been playing more regular Mario Bros. on breaks/lunch as opposed to SMB3 on the GBAsp. New high score today of over 250,000something. It would've been higher, but I got sloppy as lunchtime was winding down. I think this is around the same place I died last time....at Phase 24 or 25..something like that.
-Console-wise, I'm STILL hooked on the Unreal Championship 2 demo. UC2 will be gaming perfection, simple as that. I even love the little things, like the announcer, and the sound effects. Anubis, aka The Shit™, has been my regular character for awhile now. Really, you just can't beat "Warrior Spirit". I'm not 100% sure exactly what it does in terms of enhancement.... it just sounds and looks cool.
it's only a demo, and it stopped my Phantasy Star addiction immediately. UC2 = Gift from God.

I bought God of War today, but I'm going to have to wait until I get back from break to play it.

Myself, I just bought Donkey Kong: Jungle Beat. I hadn't been planning on it, as I'm extremely rhythmically challenged. Seriously, if I were a superhero, rhythm would be my archnemesis. But anyway, I decided that I just couldn't pass it up, as I loved the DKC series.
And I have to say that it is damn fun. I cleared all of the D Barrel kingdoms, and the Strawberry, Pineapple, and Lemon kingdoms from the K Barrel. Gold on every single one. The bosses in this game are especially neat, and I also really like the parts where you ride on the furry yak thing. The underwater level was serious ass, though. Way too hard to control.
Funny thing, too. I found the regular controller to be easier to use than the bongos. With the bongos, DK was constantly clapping when I didn't want him to. And I also had a hard time performing the jump. So I tried a controller and voila.

So, one of my roommates played on my Jungle Beat save file while I was at work, and finished areas that I hadn't done yet. Now, I've told my friends that I don't mind them playing my games. But I've always made a big point of them not fucking with my save files. So I'm kinda upset right now.
Oh well, I'll play the areas myself later. Fortunately, he sucks at video games for the most part, so his scores are really low. I'll be able to achieve the better crests myself. Right now, they're watching some movie on the TV.

MvC2: Cheap, bull crap AI. That's all I have to say about that.
Tekken 4: I'm digging the Story mode. The most ineresting story thus far has been Kazuya's. His whole thing with the Devil Gene had me itching to finish his story. One thing that irks me about the game is that I almost always seem to have trouble beating Law. I don't know what it is but he puts up a fight that is almost on the same level of Heihachi. Xiaoyu also had one of my fav endings and is my fav female fighter in the game. (Screw Christie. Cleveage and revealing outfits, do not a good female fighter make.)
Since I just got my check, I'm tempted to get Tekken 5 but that sucker is $50. I'm sure it has quite a bit on T4 but I've really started to get into this game. Yet, for some reason, I find myself still wanting to buy this game. I know everyone is saying it's the best thing since analog control but I jsut don't wanna lay $50 down.

Finally picked up VF4Evo earlier tonight. Moving up to this from Tekken is a giant step, really (read: I suck in T5, so this is just insane). I'm sure if I read up on the mechanics some more, I'll get really into it, but right now, it's just all scrub-tacular fun for me.

Juss tried Mortal Kombat: Deception. Wow this game is pure ownage. I haven't had this much fun with a fighting game since MvC 2. Its also live which is a plus. I've never really been a fan of MK's but if the rest of them are gonna be like this one then MK juss mite be the new main stream Vs. Fighting games to come out.
Also started to play Max Payne. Another pure ownage game. Anybody play Max Payne 2? If so is it as good as the first?

Just got my copy of Tekken 5 the other day. I've finally gotten back some skill at this game, so after being Kaz for a while, I'm relearning Lei (haven't used him since T3, I'm a bit rusty).
Oh, and Asuka better be related to Jin, for Xiao's sake. Otherwise, she's got NO chance. Anyone who's seen Asuka's ending knows what I mean. But I have this real sneaking suspicion she is, since...
