Except that I can't STAND the dubbing for that game. Forget DBZ...the worst dubbing is in KOF: MI. Kyo saying "Try this...ON FOR SIZE!"
The way that they translated the Japanese move names and win quotes to straight up English...LOL. The Japanese VA is much better, the voices for the preexisting characters being much closer to home.
"Furious Fandango!"
"Mai like a butterfly!"
And my horrible secret is that I really liked Mignon for a time. :xeye:
K' is mad powerful in MI.

Damn, Advance Wars is owning me. I wish that someone else at work has a DS so I can proceed to own that person with my tactical genius.
I got enough money to buy another puppy in Nintendogs, so I bought a chihuahua and named him Roy. Now Hector has someone to play with when the DS is off... though I'm not really sure if they actually do anything when the DS is off. Whatever.

Guys, I have an important announcement to make. Along with Viewtiful Joe 2 (which, I snagged for $14.99 new), I picked up...
my very first Dance Dance Revolution game!!
I've been wanting to get into DDR for years now but never got around to picking up one of it's many versions. I got DDR Max 2 for the PS2. Funcoland didn't have the first DDR Max and I wasn't sure if I'd like DDR Extreme's songs as much as I'd like the ones in DDR Max 2. Now I just need a dance pad and I'll be able to post about how much I suck!!

Well, I've given up on the lvl 4 Challenges in KoF:MI. Utter horseshit. I can't finish one, not one. Whcih sucks, because I wanted that cool-looking Cemetary stage... But no! Challenges have to be completely bullshit impossible hard. blergh!
Also, Billy Hatcher continues to be kinda meh. If you're looking for a platformer and it's less than $15, maybe pick it. The game isn't really terrible, just really blah. Nothing much stands out, though there are some really stupid-looking animals and some noticable framerate drops and slow-down.

Hulk Ultimate Destruction is out already, apparently. I urge any and all even Hulk fans...even casual ones...to buy it immediately...or at least when there's a price drop. Even if you don't like Hulk at all...just get it for the absolute destruction of everything in the game.

Man, Sonic CD is teh rockorrxxxss!! But I have a hard time holding on to rings because I don't know the levels very well. And I can never get those blasted Time Stones!! Every time you touch the water in the special stages, you lose a lot of time. The music is amazing stuff as well. I haven't heard the original Japanese tracks but the score in the American version is pretty tight. But just to shut up all the whinners, I wish Sonic Team would have included it.
Anyway, I think I just got past the Wacky Workbench Zone (weird name). And Time Attack mode rules. All Sonic games should have had Time Attack mode. I'm surprised the only 2D Sonic game to make use of one was Sonic CD.

I've had it with Billy Hatcher. This game sucks, and I'm taking it to the Game X-change tomorrow after work. The camera angles are crappy, combat is just plain annoying and not fun at all, the save system sucks because it forces you to beat the entire level a second time if you miss an item, most of hte animals look retarded, and I'm just in general sick of putting up with those and the other myriad of minor nuisances about the game just because a few of the actual jumping segments are fun.

^I never got the appeal of that Billy Hatcher....perhaps it's only cool if you're 11 or something...but I had a bad first impression of it from the beginning, way back on the demo that included Viewtiful Joe. Character design was just laughably bad, imo...and it didn't seem fun at all. I quickly went back to playing the VJ part of that demo, and never looked back.

Well I played some PS2 SFII Anniversary Collection. I still think the SFII games are the best games ever made. My World Warrior Ryu was dishing out combos and dizzies like mad!! He was just too much. Then Justin brought out Vega and Brandon bought out his E. Handa and things just turned sour for me. Vega is just TOO flipping good. On the plus side, I have new respect for Balrog. I don't use him hardly at all so maybe I'll bring him out when I want to catch my opponents off guard.

Busted out some good Time Attack times on Sonc CD via Sonic Gems Collection. All my times are under 50 seconds in the first act of the first zone (forget the name of it.) Thank you, speed shoes.

I finally played my OPM demo, which contained a demo of Hulk: Ultimate Destruction. Oh. Snap. This demo was some of the best few minutes I've ever spent in my entire life. I was running around, picking uo police cars and throwing them everywhere. I picked up a cop who said "You hav the right to remaing silent! Anything you say can and will be used againsAAAAARRGGGGHHH!!!" He was cut short when I slammed him on a bus. And I took this piece of a gas station that was the shape of a giant globe and just bowled out an entire police squad. And at one point I picked up a bus, jumped like 60 feet in the air, threw the bus at a helicopter and sent it down in flames. Fools were screaming like their crotch was on fire. I have GOT to get this game. Maybe I'll pick up the GC version when I buy Ultimate Spider-Man.

And co-sign on the "DMC > Xbox NG" part.
Anyway, currently playing Fire Emblem: The Sealed Sword. I'm just getting to Ch. 12 Gaiden, and I have to say it's been pretty damn cool thus far. Can't wait to see some Roy ownage w/Sword of Seals, he supposedly does damage to the tune of 60 HP per swing with that monster. Tack on the fact that it's a 1-2 ranged attack AND has possible full heal, and we have the award winner for most broken GBA FE character...
Unassuming American fan who's only played FE7: Great Lord Hector owns everybody! His Armads hits for 36!
Roy: Hector? Who's that scrub? Oh...you mean that guy who dies 2 seconds in, to some loser whom I beast on later. And my sword hits for double what any weapon in FE7 can produce.
Ephraim and Eirika stroll in from FE8:
Ephraim: Word. I'm over here hitting guys for 56 with my Siegmund, and I can do it twice.
Roy: Me too!
Eirika: I can with my Sieglinde, too!

More Hyper Anniversary SFII. For the first time ever, I played with arcade perfect version of Super SFII and Super Turbo characters. Those fireballs and moves just hit you so fast!! And I now know that Ryu is my best character. I can play with him better than anyone else. Yeah, I can use Blanka and Chun-Li and even Cammy but I seem to do my best when I take out Ryu. Fav versions of Ryu are World Warrior, SSFII and ST. Maybe I'll work on Blank next.
I descovered an excellent team in KOF '03: Mai, Maxima, and Kim. I've always loved Kim but now I see why so many people love Mai. She has tons of priority and she's fast. Maxima has this one move where he leaps into the air and slams down on the opponent for some heavy damage.
Got another OPM mag, meaning another demo. This month's demo came with Burnout: Revenge. This game is turning into something else. I haven't played Takedown but Revenge looks aboslutely goregeous and the crashes are just as cringe-inducing as ever. Taking out opponents and finding shortcuts was tight and being able to rip through cars with the boost meter... brilliant.

Fuck a bunch of Sonic Fighters. Lamest Sonic game ever, even if Fang/Nack does make a return appearance. The "barrier" system used for blocking in this game is stupid. And the controls just plain stink. Air attacks = slow and worthless. Throws = retardedly high damage. And Metal Sonic... pure ungodly bullshit. He makes KoF bosses look like posers.
This collection in general sucks. The six GG games were already on SADX, why do GC players need them over again? Where's Knuckles Chaotix? And fuck you SEGA for not putting the Streets of Rage games on the US version. And what the holy fuck is with the retarded things you have to do to unlock some of the pictures? Play some of those crappy GG games for longer than 30 hours... Select a certain sequence of other pictures in order... WATCH THE CREDITS 10 TIMES?!?!?!?
Screw it... I'll keep the thing because I'm a Sonic nut and this is the only home version of the fighter that there is, but yeah, this collection sucks.

Mario Kart: Double Dash!!-STILL didn't pass the 100CC Flower Cup circuit. I tried as Yoshi and Koopa Troopa. Failed. Tried as Bowser and Yoshi. Got third but still failed to get the gold. So I decided to bring out the toddlers Baby Mario & Baby Luigi. I'm surprised I actually did the best with them. I got the silver tropy and came so close to getting first on the last race, which would have given me the gold. But every one of the freaking track wants to hit me and knock me around. Uggh!!
Tetris Attack-Yes, my SNES is still hooked up and working. I played a game that lasted for more than 20 mins but as usual, the blocks got too high and I choked. Usually, I can do better than that but I haven't played in a while. And I wish the game would save your high scores and all.
GTA: San Andreas-Ran over a ton of Ballers, took their money and guns. And crack dealers = walking ATM machines. Don't think I mentioned it but I killed Denise sometime last year when I was playing. Girl just got on my nerves. Always calling me. Ugh. She had to go.

Well I started y copy of Dance Dance Revolution Max 2 last night. This game is all about rythm and timing. DDRM2 (or any DDR game for that matter) is not one of those games where you can blame the controls for a foul-up. If you screw up, it's all YOUR fault. That being said, even though I sucked at first, I had a lot of fun and the Lesson Mode helped improve my game A LOT. There are a lot of songs in here that I've never heard of. Lots of techno beats and even one of the best '70s songs, "Get Down Tonight" is in here. I'm a bit bumped that Scotty D's "Drop The Bomb" isn't in this version. I think it is in DDR Extreme so I'll pick that up eventually. My parents, sister and brother-in-law all came over to my place last night and all except my mom played DDRM2. It was a lot of fun. Since I'm still a n00b to DDR, I'm playing on Beginner.
EDIT: Just passed Game Mode with a B rank at last. After getting nothing but Ds and Es on song, I'm finally getting As and Bs. W00t!!

I got Advance Wars: Dual Strike. I never played any of the other Advance Wars, but this one has made a good impression with me. I like it.
So far, I like Colin, Jake, Eagle, and Max the best for actual abilities, but Rachel and Sami are really cute, and Rachel has good skills too.
And Combat Mode took some getting used to, but I'm enjoying it now that I know how to use the units properly. My only complaint really is that, IMO, this mode would be better if you could switch units somehow, instead of having to die to use a new type. It would add to the strategy, IMO.

He turns into a shade and cannot be harmed by physical attacks. that was a huge help against this boss named Jango who must have had like 4000 HP because even after a few 900 HP damaging attacks, he still didn't die. I offed him just in time because I was all out of Sub-Tank energy.
On the Mario Kart: Double Dash!! front, I FINALLY scored a gold tropy in the Flower Cup Circuit. I was so sick and tired of all those morons on the track attacking me!! I was read to slam my GC controller down and I rarely feel that irked in a Mario Kart game. The team I used was Luigi & Koopa Troopa on Mario's kart. I don't know if I'm ready for the Star Cup just yet.

Been playing games on my DC mostly. Ikaruga, Sega Tennis 2K2, Power Stone 2 and Grandia 2.
Also I was thinking about picking up a few games for my PS2. I've heard about Diseaga(sp?) but aren't there like 3 sequels/prequels for this game? La Pucelle or something like that? Made by Nippon Ichi?
I know that these games are similar to FFT so yeah. Any thoughts?

Darkstalkers Chronicle: The Chaos Tower on my PSP. Shame this game takes a long time to load.
If there is a canidate for a premium game download on Memory Stick for the PSP, this game is it. Heck if Capcom offers HDD instals for it's Japanese games, I wonder if it would be cool with Sony to offer a Memory stick partial instal like the PS2 Darkstalkers Collection?
Otherwise, great game. Shame the controlls stink horibly.

I've been playing God of War, just got done playing it for about 4 hours straight. All I can say is that this is without a doubt one of the best 3D action/platformer games I've ever played. It is right up there with Ninja Gaiden in terms of quality, graphics, music, and gameplay.
The animation, the score, the sound effects, the setting, it's all fucking amazing. There are so many subtle details, like smashing a dead tree in the background makes the branches sway, the way Kratos animates, reflections, in the water, things like that make a big difference, IMO.
I also very much dig the Greek mythology setting.
On a side note, it would be awesome if they did a sequel/follow-up using the same graphics engine/gamplay, but put the game in an Egyptian mythological setting instead of greek. That would be much cool.

DDRMax2 is just sooooooo much fun. It totally owns my soul. I've finally managed to finish a few songs with a full dance meter and get AA rankings. I'm gonna see if I can find a copy of the first DDRMax.
GTA: SA on the other hand is REALLY making me mad. I'm sick and tired of helping that geek Zero. If I wanted to take some fools out, I wouldn't use a dumb remote controlled air plane. I'd hop on a motorcylce or in some fast car and mow the fools down. But Rockstar/Take Two decided it'd be better to control a plane with sucktacular controls. I'm read to put the cheats in and let the good tims roll.

So I'm on a pretty difficult mission on Advance Wars. In fact, it's the first that I didn't clear on the first try.
You're supposed to use artillery from a blue base to bombard a green base's tanks while they drive out of some mountains, in order to buy your red base time to produce enough units to go agaainst this one supertank that the green base has. Supposedly, the green base is actually potential allies, but they want you to prove your strength to them before they join your forces.
It's so hard though because one of the green COs adds defense vs. artillery to all of his men, and his Power Gauge charges faster based on how many Com Towers he controls, and when active his special power adds so much defense that his army basically becomes immune to damage for one turn.
Urgh! I'll finish, but damn it's hard.

I didn't bother reading how to play the game, so I ignored all of the tutorial crap (I've played the others) and didn't know about the skills until I was almost done. Makes playing the war rooms worthwhile if you're stuck. You can build up promotions and get better skills.

Yeah, Duolon is pretty broken in KOF 2003. I guess that is why there is almost no combo videos of KOF 2003 to speak of...because it's all about Duolon and his broken shit.
His strength lies in that he basically has frame advantage in his moves, high priority in pokes, teleport, a Scum Gale-like command throw (a throw that leaves the opponent's guard down for a free combo), a Rekka Ken-like move that can basically end in several broken stuff (can stun the opponent long enough to allow another combo, I think that is the basics for his infinite. He can also "launch" the opponent at the end of it as well, allowing a free juggle).
His LDM resembles Genei Jin.
His other supers are easy to cancel into.
He can combo his low B into Rekka Ken madness (and low B is a pretty decent poke).
Duolon breaks the game in a not-so-fun way.

More on DDRMAX2. I got AA on one of my fav songs "Take Me Away." I even got a B rank "Blow My Whistle Baby." That song isn't as hard as I thought but "Conga Feeling" totally caught me off guard. Song has a TON of steps even on Beginner mode (don't laugh, I'm still learning). I would have had a AA rank on "Break Down" but I missed 1 step and screwed myself. On "Days Go By" I went from D to B. And all her CO Power does is booster he infantry, and they still suck.
Why? Why?
In other news, I cleared what I guess is Chapter 1 of story mode. I blasted some sattellite and a whole repair facility, got a few defected enemy on my team, and all in all kicked some ass. There was a transitory story segment, and then a new section started. I'm having a hard time with the second mission here though. Somehow the enemy still sees me in the fog or something, cause they always know exactly where I am and will even shell me with artillery when I can't see any units revealing my postion for the cannons/rockets/ships.
I did already figure out that Javier is good for the blue base, since they're blocked off by rockets and cannons, and he gets a defense bonus vs. artillery. And Sonja is nice for the added vision bonuses in the fog. But I still haven't managed to clear this yet.

So, i picked up advance wars: dual strike a few days ago, and i was enjoying it. Its a fun game, just all around good, but then, it just omfg turned super fucking awesome! In that stage with lash and jugger verses you and theyre doing tag battle, next level, you get to do it. Im playing and getting my ass kicked until i get my tag meter up! Click the menu, choose tag, then wam, the game becomes just super fucking awesome! The first thing i notice is the music, goddamn it is good, its just so awesome and triumphant. So i have a bomber, i move it closer top their base, then choose change and move again, then i get to go again! Move my bomber right next to their black, and bam! Kick to the ovaries, there goes your black crystal, lash! Then i start getting into other modes, like combat, which is just to fucking fun. And omfg im to good, i can beat it without losing one unit and finishing with 7 tanks! Survival is also awesome, so far ive only gotten through turn survival, but man it gives you lots of points to upgrade your COs. THis game is too fucking awesome, my favorite ds game and tied along with fire emblem 7 for my favorite handheld game. I would give this game a 9.5 only because of the fact that they didnt upgrade the graphics at all really, they couldve tooken advantage of the ds's graphics to make it less pixelated. And guess what? My 2 favorite handheld games are both made by the same company, Intelligent systems!

I picked up GameStop's last new copy of DDRMAX. Was $30 but I loved DDRMAX2 so much, I just had to play the original. I also pre-ordered DDR Extreme 2 and got a free sample disc with 14 songs on it from DDR Extreme 2. Also pre-ordered We Love Katamari.
 I've yet to get a AAA rank on any song. My guess is you HAVE to earn PERFECT steps throughout the whole song. Maybe I should start trying to do that on Light songs.
Also snagged the GC version of Namco Museum 50th Anniversary. I was so tempted to get it for Galaga alone but when I saw they took a cue from Activision Anthology and included some '80s songs, I was sold. And you can't beat the price: $20.

Hey, folks, I'm back!
I'm currently playing Vampire Collection for PS2. I finally got a chance to try out KOF Neowave for PS2, and all I have to say is  to both games.
Anyone can attest to how much of a KOF nut I am. Neowave feels MUCH more like 98' than any of the other post-SNK KOFs do, and I'm glad. It plays great, and the music and BGs (although devoid of BG characters) are the shit!
Vampire Collection is awesome too. Now I've got all 5 Darkstalkers games on one disk, and that is uber-convenient for me. I'm getting one step closer to selling my Saturn and DC at this rate, since all the games I want are coming to PS2 and XBL now.
I ordered Garou, KOF Neowave, and Raiden for PS2 as well. Can't wait to get my hands on a new shooter (Raiden comes out on the 29th.
In a few days, I'm going to try to pick up God of War. I keep hearing how great it is, and I watched one dude play it when I was overseas - it looks nice. Then Capcom Collection is coming out. That's gonna be nice to have a complete Final Fight (complete w/ Guy and a 2-player mode) on the go. I can't wait to see what other games will be on the disc.

Namco Museum 50th Anniversary: Well the '80s songs they included are Joystick, Working For The Weekend, Come On Ileen, Talking In Your Sleep, and She Drives Me Crazy. With the exception of Come on Ileen, I like the songs but only 5? Meh. And on top of that, you can only listen to them when you're selecting which game to play. Digital Eclipse, if you're going to copy Activsion, at least remember to DO IT RIGHT!! Other than that, and the fact that Namco has already released these games on various compilations across various systems, I'm enjoying this set. My high score on Ms. Pac-Man is 24520. Is Ms. Pac really better than her hubby? It's tougher that's for sure. I played Rally-X for the first time about 10 minutes ago. I've wanted to see what that game was about and it turned out to be pretty good. Being able to "smoke" your enemies is awesome.
Galaga '88 became available after scoring more than 15000 points on Pac-Man. Game is fun and I dig the updated music and effects but the original Galaga is STILL king. Best '80s shooter. Ever.
Pole Position sucked when I played it a few years ago for the first time and I doubt little has changed since then. So I doubt I'll care for PPII.
Side note: for hardcore old-school players, the music and sound effects as far as I can tell are arcade perfect.

Was I the only gamer who had no idea there was/is a Galaga '88? *Crawls out from under his rock* I don't know if the arcade version let you do this but you have the option to start with one or double ships. If you start with 2 ships you have 2 spair ships, but if you go with doubles, you'll only have one spair ship.
More on DDRMAX2. I've almost got everything unlocked and I've gotten a few more AA ranks. Sadly, the AAA rank still eludes me. I just miss a few perfect steps and my chances of a AAA rank go out the window. Mind you, I'm still playing on Beginner but some of these songs even on that setting are tough.
I played a bit of the first DDRMAX. Since I got better at DDRMAX2 pretty quickly, I figured I wouldn't need to go into the Lesson mode. Well humility has already showed back up into my gaming life and I've already failed the Arcade mode! And on my first try! And I even unlocked a song for failing! The song was called "Celebrate" and the game said I could "celebrate my first failure in style." Terrific, now the even the game makes me feel like a scrub.

Alot. Look on the Star trip branch mode, every blue dot is a different planet with Meteo being 1 planet you can get.
my fav planet levels so far are Firim (I like the gravity on this stage) and Megadon
Edit: Oh and one other thing, from now on, stop fusing anything at all until you get to:
5000 each of Air/Fire/Water/Soil
3000 each of Iron/Zap
2000 each of Herb/Zoo
1000 each of Glow/Dark
5 each of Soul/Time
The reason you want to wait is because that is the largest requirement for a fusion in the game and when you reach that, you will have unlocked the ability to fuse almost everything that can be fused. That only leaves some items, sounds, and I think a few planets left. that you'll have left since some of those are unlocked other ways.

I also wish for the triumphant return of 'Cross Your Heart'. I mean, 'Aquarius' made a surprise return in Circle of the Moon, so hopefully they give 'Cross Your Heart' some love in a future game.
"Clockwork" is also in CotM, sort of, only a few bars of it anyway. Oh and "Big Battle" (CV3 Dracula 2nd and 3rd forms)
I myself have quite a list of Castlevania tunes that do need to come back:
> Out of Time (CV1 final stage)
> Monster Dance (Simon's Quest Night music)
> Anxiety (CV3)
> Riddle (CV3)

According to the Castlevania music FAQ, a lot of old songs made a comeback in CotM. Most of them are from Bloodlines, but the selection is pretty varied.
I wasn't very fond of Wicked Child's rendition in Chronicles, so it needs to make a proper return as well.

I picked digital devil saga back up in order to beat the smt:nocturne protagonist. hardest fucking fight ever.
I had to take out my magic switch as i travelled with the ps2 over labor day. Now I cant get one of the pieces back in right (the one i knew i would have problems with) so Shadow Tower: Abyss is on hold until I do. I was getting my ass kicked in the waterfall area.

Sami is deadly! Pair her with Eagle then you'll get the ultimate base capture team. Force ranks only make this team more broken.Yeah, Gasarki already told me about how to play Sami in the [short-lived] Advance Wars thread that I made. And yeah, I've been using her and Eagle in War Room missions, and it's craziness.
the arcade version of galaga did not let you start with 2 ships, you would have to let it get captured and then shoot the bug down to get it attached to your ship...

That's not true. There are a few planets that require 8000 of some stuff. Those're just the Meteo requirements.
There are a total of 32 planets, Reggie. Unforetunately, I don't remember all of the exact requirements for everything, though. But I do remember that most of the weapons and music are fairly cheap. Also, it says "completed!" with a little picture of a Geolyte guy when you've fused everything that you can in that area.
Oh, ok then, sorry bout that. But I think you get the idea of what I was suggesting right?

wicked child in chronicles was ok, but god damn that club remix of vampire killer in arranged mode was kinda off track haha.
the thing that disappointed me slightly about chronicles was how different it kind felt compared to the castlevanias before it. i mean didnt it come out the same year after drac x came out? it just feels/looks so weird and less effort compared to drac x, even if its a slight remake of cv1 it should have been much better.

All I can say about Burnout Revenge (on Xbox) is that it is the finest racing game ever made.
Aside from simplified online statistics, I have no complaints with it. Until PGR3 comes out, this is the only racer ill be playing. And hell, i'll be playing PGR3 in addition to this, not instead of

Good old Mega Man Anniversary Collection. Started playing Mega Man 3 last night. Best Mega Man game. Ever. Anyway, I killed Magnet Man, Hard Man and Top Man before calling it a night. I can't believe the number of hits I took when fighting Break Man (Proto Man) in Hard Man's stage. I've worked that out to where I can usual have a flawless fight against him. But then you when don't fight in on a flat surface, it is a little more difficult. I'm about to off Shadow Man right now. Man, his tune is ownage. It's like 8-bit jazz/pop. Anyone else think Shadow Man could kick the crap outta Metal Man? He's a friggin' NINJA for crying out loud! I'm honestly still baffeled as to how people would say Metal Man would win if the fought.

Evil Dead: Regeneration! And it was only $20, release price too.
So far, pretty entertaining, though I'm getting sick of every 3rd Person Hack-n-Slash having to rip off Dante's DT form. But on the bright side, combat is pretty fun, with the overall selection of moves and combos being much more extensive than in the previous two games. Also, in addition to the King of Camp, Bruce Campbell himself, voicing Ash, we've got a new sidekick voiced by Ted Raimi along for the ride. Yep, Ted Raimi himself. And the game sticks pretty close to the Army of Darkness style. So all in all, I'm pretty satsified, especially with the cheap price tag.

I think after Christmas I'll be picking up the DS. I played Nintendogs for a while on Saturday and had alot of fun with it. Phoenix Wright:Ace Attorney, Meteos,Sonic and some GBA games like Astroboy are looking pretty sweet to me right now but with school I want to focus on that more.
As far this current gen of consoles go Okami, Shadow and the Colussus, and MGS3: Subsistence are about it for me and then I'm done with games on the current gen consoles. I'll start saving up for the Revolution. I know it's too early to call but if the games are there I will be there at the midnight sale for this no doubt.
The PS3 right now is only good for MGS4 and even then I can wait until the "directors cut" version comes out a year later. I don't see Virtua Fighter 5 coming out for the PS3 anytime soon either, so by the time those two games are out, the PS3 should be cheap and worth it. My .02 on the PS3.

Finally cleared the campaign on Advance Wars DS. The mission that I was having a hard time with? Yeah, I was an idiot, and even though you're given a shitload of indirects and almost nothing else I still wasn't use Grit. So I did the smart thing and all was well.
I was surprised by the ending, it was a bit darker than the rest of the game had been so far. But good.

KofTSF is taking a trip back in time since Square Enix would never make a new Ogre Battle game. I am loving it since I created new tactics for my squad to follow. I am not the usual real time strategist, but I must admit, Battle does quite a number on my outlook towards the genre. I am a bit ahead with the story since I ventured into Tactics Ogre for GBA. Also awesome. The dialogue is second only to FE 7.

The Namco anniversary pack...apparently Ninja Gaiden Black is out already(?!), there's MK Shaolin Monks, ULTIMATE SPIDERMAN just came out yesterday, Hulk is out, Xmen Legends 2 is out...and so on and so on. This era of gaming is The Shit™, plain and simple. It isn't even debatable. Pokey pokeyyy in the booty holey..
edit---heh, forgot what I orignally posted for..I saw a demo of the Zatch Bell GC game today...and it looked interesting! I just picked up the PS2 version of Ultimate Spider-Man. The GameStop I went into was out of GC versions. Or at least I didn't see any. Also picked up my reserve copy of We Love Katarami. Haven't played either of them yet. Actually, I haven't even fished Katamari Damacy. Still stuck on Make a Star 7.

Got the DS, so I'm playing Ridge Racer DS. Cool enough...
65% of support talk on Fire Emblem 7. There's a female swordmaster I still need to uncover, but it's tough to do.

They should have release We <3 Katamari on DS. Playing with a stylus would have been dope

Some things i don't understand is what do runes do?
I can, apparently, dye weapons too?
Do I lose anything if i die during a mission?
Is there a way to make the Storage bigger? becuase it seems pretty small compared to other games...
Where do i get the F8 bag?
Is it worth spending 500g to expand the F7 bag by 5 slots using the scroll of holding bought from the merchant @ the Northern Wall?

runes- you can ad them to armor to give you extra whatever they say they will give. for example if its a rune that ads +1 to fire skills if you attach it to your gloves it will give you +1 to fire skills.
you dont lose anything if you die during the mission you just have to restart.
you can buy bags and expand them, and you can also buy a storage "chest" from a storage person but thats about it.
i dont know what an F8 bag is...
it depends how much money you have, when you get farther into the game its worth spending 500g to expand...

Just finished tales of symphonia, this game is a masterpiece. The rpgs released during this generation have been subpar overall, but tales of symphonia bucks that trend. What surprising is that this game was developed by namco, a company that has only been making solid fighters while the rest of their offerings in other genres have been crap. This game was worth fifty dollars, but at the the twenty dollar price point it has now it's a steal.

uh oh...it appears my jinx effect might've struck again...I'm hearing lots of disappointing commentary about Ultimate Spidey. Apparently they "dumbed down" the swinging?! Why on earth would the developers change the one PERFECT thing from Spidey 2?! Anytime anyone ever said something about SM2...whether it was good or bad, they eveutually would say "...but swinging around sure is fun!", or something to that effect.
I know the Gfaqs members tend to go a little overboard with the hate, but it seems like 90% of the people there are complaining about the new and slightly altered (in a bad way, apparently) swinging mechanics. There is also no more charged jump, though I hear Spidey still gets the same height as the max charged jump from SM2. I'll still get the game...with the comic style visuals, and the option to play Venom....it can't possibly be as bad as some of them are making it out to be.
I'll be back on Live for Unreal Champ2 sometime this weekend...mainly to see if the game is completely deserted/dead now. I've already given up all hope for another downloadable content release. We will NEVER get to play Ra, Nephtys, Corrosion and the others...never.
well...since the UC2 community is mostly whiny bitches that complain about everything...and the devs seem to not give a crap anymore...AND I don't really play Halo 2 online anymore....I might as well cancel my gamertag. Well, this would give me a chance to change over to a cooler username if I ever come back. I only chose that Perfect Hatred name as a last resort, pretty much....ALL my other ideas were taken already...which is odd, since I'm one of the most creative people in all existence. :wow:

I got Raiden III yesterday in the mail. What a beautiful game. Hard too, heh. But still fun. I don't think that it beats Gradius V, but it's certainly a good game. If it ever comes stateside, check it out.

There's too many great games out all at once. The Namco anniversary pack...apparently Ninja Gaiden Black is out already(?!), there's MK Shaolin Monks, ULTIMATE SPIDERMAN just came out yesterday, Hulk is out, Xmen Legends 2 is out...and so on and so on. Again, I ask...to the people who think gaming just isn't what it used to be...or not as great as the "old days"....what the fuck are you talking about? This era of gaming is The Shit™, plain and simple. It isn't even debatable.
I feel you on that on. This is indeed a good age for gaming. I'm old school too, and I know where you are coming from. Lots of great games coming from every angle. XMLegends 2, I hope to have enough to trade in for that tomorrow.

Ultimate Spider-Man: I thought I'd give some impressions on the game. Finally opened it up and played at some 4:30 in the AM. First off, the web-slinging. Yes, it is different from the amazingly fluid system found in last year's Spidey 2. But does it suck? Heck no. In fact, it can take some getting used to at first but it is fun to swing around town even though the Ultimate NY isn't as big as the one found in Spidey 2.
The visuals. Oh man. Pics on the net do not do this game justice. It looks freaking amazing. If you've read the Ultimate Spider-Man comic books, then you'll LOVE how this game looks. Mark Bagley lent his tallents well to this game and it shows. You'd think Ultimate Spidey lept right out of the book and into your TV screen.
The dialogue and voices. Brian Michael Bendis wrote every word of the script in this game and picked out the voice actors. Spidey sounds like he's going through puberty (and he should since he's 15 in this game) but the voice actor does a great job of bringing the character to life. On top of that, Spidey's dialogue is hilarious. I've laughed out loud at every single joke he's cracked while he was web-slinging or fighting bad guys.
Combat is a bit stripped down from Spidey 2 as well. Since Peter has only been Spidey for a short while in this game (heck, he's only been Spidey for 9 months in the comics), he's down to the bare essentials. That being said, it's still a lot of fun to web up bad guys and jump out of the way from fire when the Spider-Sense goes off. I'll post more on it later.

Awesome, what system do you have ultimate spidey for? I find it funny that the ds version came out before the others, and ive also heard good thing about it too.

I got Ultimate Spider-Man for the PS2. At the GameStop I went to I saw no GC versions left. Right now I'm playing as Venom!! Man playing as Venom is fun!! He jumps around like the Hulk and eats people!! You guys remember that annoying kid that always lots his balloon in Spidey 2? I got to eat that sucker!!
 Right now I'm in the middle of a tough boss fight though. I won't spoil anything but I'll just say this game has great guest star material already. This game already blows any other Spidey game away in the story department.

Oh man. Ultimate Spider-Man continues to rock. Even with the different, simplified swing system, swinging around Ultimate NY is a blast. UNY may not be as big as the NY in Spidey 2, but it's still pretty huge. And Shocker is as big a loser in the games as he is in the comics. I think I've already fought him 7 times now.
There are even some unlockable costumes, 7 in all I think but I haven't gotten any yet. You gotta be dedicated if you wanna get these babies. There are also unlockable story boards, landmarks, comic covers, etc. The comic covers are just that though, covers, which sucks. All told though, this is a better game than Spidey 2. And it more than does the comic book justice. If Brian Bendis and Mark Bagley are playing this game, I bet they can't stop smiling.

yeah...^ I wonder why not include a whole unlockable comic in games like this? In Hulk there are also some covers for several Hulk comics. What's even worse though...at least from what I remember...you can't even zoom in on the art. It's just there.
I've heard about the costumes...I already know there is at least the symbiote costume for Spiderman...I forgot the others....and unfortunately thanks to Gamefaqs boards...I've already been spoiled on at least one major guest star. (*typical Gamefaqs spoiler situation....the guys put the crucial info right into the thread title...and then put the word "spoilers.." right after it. It's funny to see. For example, imagine if this were way back in the early 80s and there was a thread like this: "OMG! Vader=Luke's Daddy! *SPOILERS*". Hilarious.)
After looking through the Sunday ads....yes, apparently Ninja Gaiden Black is out already. I need at least 3-5,000 extra on my salary just to keep up with all these games coming out.
*sidenote---for some reason, I'm just not believing the hype about games becoming more expensive in the next generation. Perhaps later on in the Xbox 3/PS4/WhateverNintendo era....but this upcoming generation really isn't such a huge leap from the current one. I think it may be a small increase and that's it...like the average price will go up to 54.99, rather than 49....that's not really a big deal.

I'm not sure how far I am in USM, just a bit after fighting Rhino. Too much time spent looking for/doing all the coins. Ran into a glitch on the pc version where I'd be fine, get into a mission and start dead haha, even if I decline re-trying, I'm dead on top of the house. GG, time to reload.
Playing Duns/Dragons Dragonshard, it has the whole "upper/lower" world thing like Armies of Exigo (which is one of the worst rts games ever) and well, DDD is better just not something thats interesting enough, let alone going through long load times and lacklustre battlesystem. The interface is pretty weak too.
Soo, instead I'm playing Nba live 2006.. in goddamn chinese since the eng. one isn't out yet. =\
