Paycheck! ^^; Will probably hit the mall tomorrow and check out some of the games suggested here.
Still progressing with SD:HCP. Getting the hang of the :df:+X, L1 combo now. Reversals and countering finishers are cool as well.
But damn those special matches (Table, Ladder, Cage, etc.) can get annoying the first time around. I really like the Season mode, as I found out you could play even those matches on the card that don't involve your character. That means you can choose to "push" whomever you like to win a particular belt. ^^;

Capcom Classics Collection = one of the best compilations EVER!!
Final Fight is challenging even on the easier settings. I forgot how much fun it is to play as Hagar. This Mayor knew how to get stuff done. Exed Eyes is pretty fun but make sure you save your crash bombs. The bullets in the game are smaller than those in a Gradius game. And Commando, oh Commando. My first time playing it. Man is it fun!! I just wish you could throw grenades in the left or right direction. The arcade version of Bionic Commanod... oh man is it TOUGH. The good news for the Gouls & Goblins games is that you can set the difficulty down to easier settings. The bad news is that the games will still be tough.
I heard in final fight all you have to do is stand in one place and hit punch and everyone but the bosses will walk into your fist.

I'm playing many of the games on the Capcom Classics Collection for the first time. I just got done playing Forgotten Worlds. Game is fun but Mercs tottally kills it. I haven't even played half the games on this disc yet. There's so much goodness here it's inasne.

Street Fighter II
Street Fighter II: Champion Edition
Street Fighter II: Hyper Fighting
Mercs
Forgotten Worlds
Final Fight
Commando
Bionic Commando
Exed Eyes
Son Son
Gun.Smoke
1942
1943
1943 Kai
Legendary Wings
Ghouls 'n Ghosts
Ghosts 'n Goblins
Super Ghouls 'n Ghosts

Basically 22 classic Capcom games on the disc. The game is for PS2 and GC and is only $20.

Well I beat Ultimate Spider-Man. Great story, fun gameplay and an overall enjoyable game. I hear the story in the game is supposed to have some sort of effect in the USM comics. Anyway, for beating the game I unlocked two costumes, the hoody which Peter wears when he fights Venom in the begining and the wrestling costume that Peter wore in the super early issues of USM.

Even if that were true, it doesn't mean that you have to play the game that way. Rushdown isn't limited to only 1-on-1 fighting games. :)

More Capcom Classics Collection Goodness. I like 1943 better than 1942. Don't get me wrong, 1942 is good but 1943 is just more improved. Also, I found out that Mercs is 3 player co-op. Time to dust off the Multi-tap!!

I've never even seen the arcade version of Mercs....or is this something different than what I know to be the cool early 90s-era game on Sega Genesis?
hmm...actually, this is it from the arcade games I fondly remember. Between Capcom's new classics collection, Namco's several volume-releases, and the Konami discs...they've already released nearly all the arcade games I enjoyed. I never played the Aliens vs. Predator beatemup, so I'm definitely looking forward to that if Capcom makes a 2nd classics disc(and they better) See, back then I was always distracted by other games....I think that was right in the era of fighting games hitting it big...so I foolishly just figured "eh, that AvP will always be around....I'll get to it later on... one day. I mean, it's not like arcades will suddenly DIE one day.." <<--ahaha...famous last words.
I think it's time for some more "Ranger" action...I'll hit up the wonderful world of Viewtiful Joe in just a sec...

I picked up Rayman DS. Almost immediately, I started to wonder why. Rayman 2 was by far my least favorite of the series' titles, and right away all of the old annoyances hit me again. I guess that "games you never beat" thread got me wanting to go back and actually finish that stupid-ass final boss fight on the flying bomb thing.
Hmm... I'll prolly pick up Capcom Classics next paycheck, since locally games tend to be about a week or two behind anyway. And maybe get CV: Dawn of Sorrow as well. Haven't decided yet.

Its a short game too (beat it in 5 and a half hours) so you feel that sense of accomplishment quickly, for those impatient gamers. Gonna try to finish Metroid Prime 2 and KOTOR2 before buying more games.

Even though I beat Ultimate Spider-Man I'm still playing it. Web-sling is almost as fun as it was in Spidey 2. Turning is a lot easier in USM though and overall, web-slinging is still a blast. I can also play as Venom whenever I want but it's like playing a GTA game with a 4 star wanted level. Cops and SHIELD agents every. But I'll still keep playing to beat all the races and collect all the tokens and comic covers.
As for Cacom Classics Collectin, Legendary Wings is TOUGH. Myabe not Super Ghouls & Ghosts tough but still pretty freaking hard. And I love Commando but I suck at it. I could use a buddy to cover me when the fire gets heavy but the game is only one player and I'm still working on the limited range of bombs. Million, you pick this up yet?

Still hooked on the Capcom Clasics Collection. Ugh, my SFII: WW skills must have gotten rusty. Dudes like Ken and E. Honda give me a hard time even on the lower settings. And I finally figured out why Guile is so top tier now: priority. The dude has loads of it. I'm tempted to say he's broken but I think that'd be giving him way too much credit. As it stands, I can't even beat SFII: WW without continuing!! Waaaah!!! Does anyone else prefer to play the SFII games with the remixed tunes? The CPS stuff kinda grew on me but I like the remixed songs better.
And I'm still not bored with Final Fight. It could very well be my all-time favorite beat 'em-up. (Sorry, Streets of Rage 2 fans). I just wish the option to disable hurting your buddy in co-op was included. It kinda makes shoulder-tossing harder to do because my friend was almost constaly behind me when I performed it. I loved Final Fight One on my GBA and now that I can finally play an arcade perfect version... oh, man... it's just... too... freaking... GOOD!!! And the artwork you can unlock for Final Fight is NIIIIIIIIIIIICE. Especially the scene with a bleeding Andrea. Anyone hate fighting Sodom? I've improved at fighting since waauaaaay back in the day but if you approach him wrong you're screwed.
I think I got down to stage 20 on 1942. I'm tempted to make the score less for extra lives. Sigh, I'm so weak.

Well, I played the Xbox demo disc I "acquired" recently....Marvel Nemesis really does suck. This is a damn shame...it had such strong potential. The game simply isn't fun to play...from what little of it there is on the demo(*bullshit--you can ONLY be Johnny Ohm or Spidey. Come on...that's how demos were back in the 90s. I traded in a whole bunch of games and DVDs. I'm sure that I could have gotten more if I did one of those game-trading sites, but I wasn't *TOO* concerned about making money as much as I was getting rid of shit that I don't watch or play anymore. I got $130+ for a few crappy DVDs, so it was worth it. I used to go by the "don't-trade-in-anything-because-you-might-want-to-play-it-later" mentality, but it's amazing how you can change the older you get.
I know how you feel about "support the company". I do that as well. Out of the hundreds of games I own, only 2 or 3 are burns....but I'm a "gotta have the real thing" nut. I sometimes wish I wasn't such a collector, and that I could actually burn games and not give a crap, but that's not me -- I'm not shitting on people that *DO* (since I've gotten to sample games before that way), but I always know what I'm going to buy and what I'm getting into. I've always been able to make informed purchases, so I can honestly say I've only brought one game without trying first that I didn't like. You guys help a lot on this thread with the recommendations.
I must have broken some kind of record, because since I started trading old stuff in, I've only paid $$$ for maybe 4 or 5 games in the past year or so. I'm doing quite well, and managing to be able to save a bit of money. I remember when I first started inporting with the Sega Saturn...my first import was KOF 95', and my 2nd import was X-Men vs. SF. Those were the days.
But of course, there are the games which I will most likely never trade in, and that includes my fighting game collection and gems like Sin and Punishment for the N64.
But, believe it or not, I have you guys to thank for helping me save $$$. I used to get every game on Day 1, and never had time to finish them all. Then I see how you guys seemed to get maximum enjoyment out of finishing 1 game first (or maybe 2) before you went and brought the next one. I was (unnecessarily) concerned about not being able to find a game later, but I learned to discern what would be rare from what would be plentiful. Rare, for example, is the SNK games that come out on XBL. Most stores only get 1 or 2 copies. I haven't even seen any KOF 2k3's in any stores except Gamestop/EB.
You guys kick arse. Great people, and a great thread. Spot-on recommendations. We all seem to have that "appreciate the little touches in the game" thing going on that helps up overlook minor faults and enjoy the game for what it is instead of tearing it apart over 1 little small issue.
Just preordered RE4 for the PS2 so I'm pumped.

Congrats on beating the final boss in Rayman 2, Remy. You're a better gamer than I. Heh, thanks. I don't blame you for not standing for that shit, either. It's god-awful stupid and I hated it on the DC version, too.
But replaying Rayman 2 got me wanting to play through Rayman 3 again, so I got that out. Ah, much better than 2.

Went into EB Games and paid of the rest of my preorder for RE4. I started browsing around the PS1 games when I found...
Front Mission 3. For $5.00
$5.00!!
It was in mint condition with the CD case, instructions, and everything.
Today was a good day
Really fun game but a little broken. It seems to be much more broken than FM4, although I've played very little of the latter game. I really wish I brought that game with me. I was at the last battle and I never got to finish it. ;_;

Front Mission 3 for $5? Great deal, man, great deal. One of my all-time favorite games for sure.
You know, Remy, I really enjoyed Rayman 2. It had tight level design and music but that blasted final boss!!! It was as if the makers were thinking "We're on a role with this game!! What now? Oh, I know! Let's make this super annoying boss that will trudge up bab memories of games like, oh, I dunno BATTLETOADS and irk the heck out of everyone!" 5 years going and I still haven't touched Rayman 2, since. Screw you, Ubi-Soft. Screw you very much.
More on Capcom Classics Collection. Started playing 1943 again. Oh man, this game kicks mass amouts of booty. 1942 is great but by and large 1943 >>>> 1942. The music is pretty catchy and the addition of a life bar is a gift from God!! And the Crash weapon that allows you to controller weather effects to hit all enemies = pwnage.

Screw you, Ubi-Soft. Screw you very much.I do enjoy the on-foot levels in the game. But I get really sick of how every other level is some sort of running/flying/sliding/stupid-ass-chair-thingy that involves auto-scrolling and one-hit death. And I hate how they redesigned or just plain scrapped everyone from the first game. Other than Rayman himself and Ly, they brought in a whole new cast for 2. Where is the Magician? The Electoons? Mr. Dark? The mosquito thingy? And Ly looks different, too. And Globox? WTF is that ugly thing? And why the Hell does Rayman shoot balls of energy now? He's supposed to throw his fist, dammit!
Meh. It's an okay game. But I still think 1 and 3 > 2.

As for the Cacpom Classics Coll, I've discovered the ruthlessness of Ghouls 'N Ghosts. I can't believe Capcom made a full 6 level arcade game outta this. And the zombies that keep coming out of the ground are more annoying than those freaking Medusa heads in the Castlevania series. You have to constantly watch your back in GnG. It's a bit like a slower paced Contra... and Arthur rocks some boxer shorts when he loses his armor. Anyway, I got to the boss of the first stage. I chucked javlins at him like you wouldn't beleive. But he killed me on my last man. Thank God for the tips section and thank God for mid-level points.

Been playing a bit of Resident Evil 4. Gotta say I'm having a damn good time. Bought the rifle off of the merchant a while back and DAMN is this thing fun to use on the villagers from a distance. You enter an area with eerie music that's pretty big and has multiple buildings. It's raining and there's a fog all around but the place seems clean since the last time you came through and swept the place. Not so, whip out the rifle with the scope equipped and zoom in and you catch a glimpse of a bobbing pitchfork peeking from behind a barn and several villagers way off in the distance staring your way waiting for you to come in the general area. I don't think so: POP! Fun as hell the way Leon ejects the spent cartridge and chambers another and takes aim again. The load time for the rifle isn't so hot when in close quarters but when you can take your time somewhat it's awesome. RE4 is shaping up to rival my all time love RE2.:wow: Just attention to detail like how Leon reloads the rifle puts a smile on my face.

Oh man, good stuff. I have that cart but I wasn't able to beat DWI on my NES. And I think I got stuck on DWII on my GBA. My brother-in-law beat DWI on my GB Pocket in like a little over 7 hours one time. I was shocked. Shocked that he beat the game and in the time he beat it.
:wow:
CCC. Exed Eyes is the pwnage of me. I love the game but it wears on my thumb when I dodge bullets with the the digital pal and controling the ship with analog just feels weird to me. It does with all SHMUPs, though. Just can't do it. I think this game was also know as Attack of The Killer Bees. Something like that. I just find that interesting and humorus.
And I actually made it to the 1st stage in Ghouls 'n Ghosts!! Too bad I lost patience about midway through the 2nd stage. Infinite respwaning enemeies > me.
And I decided to start Burnout 3: Takedown. Man, is this game freaking fun!! I'm still getting used to the new stuff though like Crashbreakers and collecting stuff during Crash Events. But taking down rivals is too good. In one race, I ran 3 fools off the road!!

now I'm playing DW II, great stuff (I have the original NES carts, but I'm lettin' 'em rest......they've been well-played over the years, and since the GBC carts are newer, they'll take more abuse.........
Reggie: DW I isn't that hard a game.......there's a trick........if you have the patience......
level up to 20, THEN start questing for the hidden items.....it makes shit so much easier.......at level 20 there's NO monster you can't beat (including the final boss), you have all your spells, and tons of gold by that point.......
the quest is infinitely easier when you beast on everything.......and since DQ I's battle system is one monster at a time, you're not likely to get overwhelmed, unless you pick on a monster that's tougher than you, as you're levelling up.....

I wonder if my old DWI save is still on my NES cart...
I started Metroid Zero Mission today while doing the laundry. I've had this game for MONTHS. Man, I should have started this sooner. Hands down, one of the best remakes out there. The music is superb and it still packs that classic Meroid exploration feel. And goodbye cheap hits! I liked Metroid on the NES but the game packed way too much cheapness. And I'm loving the new stuff like the Power Grip. I hear this game doesn't have near as many bosses as Metroid Fusion (which was actually one of my favorite things about that game), but I'm not complaining.
Between Zero Mission, Capcom Classics Coll, Katarmai Damacy, Ultimate Spidey and Metoes, my gaming hands are more than full.

Made some more progress in Metroid Zero Mission. Got some more missiles and another Energy Tank. And I fought this worm boss that I totally wasn't expecting. It took me like 8 minutes to kill the thing because I kept falling into lava and I had to constantly changes sides of the room in order to attack it's weak point. According to the map, I'm getting very close to Kraid. I know he was a midget on the NES version but since this is a remake, it wouldn't surprise me if he was Super Metroid style size. And I'm already dreading the fight with Ridley. Why? Because he was a BEAST in Metroid Fusion. If he's anywhere near that tough in Zero Mission I'm gonna be steamed.

BTW. Is the Final Fantasy remake for the GBA anything to get?
I played it through twice. Its pretty damn fun. It has the SNES graphics and different spells from the original for NES. The best part tho, is that it has new dungeons that let you get some nasty EXP and at the end of each dungeon there are 2-4 bosses that are hard as fuck and drop some pretty nice items. The only thing is that the new dungeons are long as hell and you can only fight one boss per run so to beat all 4 hard bosses you gotta do them 4 times. My second run through was with THF, MNK, WHM, BLM. shit is a bitch without a fighter but its that much more fun when they all grow up (NIN is actually worth something).
Currently still trying to beat Metroid Prime 2. Just got the Light Suit and am retracing my steps to get stuff i missed or couldnt get before. After that its Shadow of the Colossus on the 19th and prolly KOTOR2 sometime after.

I'm am sooooo loving Burnout: Takedown. The game is just too much. So many different events. At first I was a bit bummed that the main mode wasn't just racing but since there is also eliminator, demolison, face-off, and other sutff, it keeps things nice and fresh. I've already unlocked events and races for Europe and Overseas but I'm staying in the USA for now. I'm having too much fun here. And car damage sticks!!
And I beat Kraid in Metroid Zero Mission this afternoon. He wasn't hard at all, really, but I'm used to facing him on the left side of the screen a la Super Metroid. And When I beat him got one of the granddaddy of all power-ups: the SPEED BOOSTER!!! W00t!!
Picked up a few more comic covers and hidden tokens on Ultimate Spider-Man. I almost have every comic cover in the game but the hidden tokens are harder to find in this game than in Spidey 2. Venom's races are a bit screwed up. For some reason, you gotta stop and kill a cop or two that's shooting at you, which is a completly stupid but if you don't do it, you can't finish the race. Lame.

many of my same complaints against AoM stand though, lack of custom game options (where'd Regicide go?), but the gheyest thing ever that will no doubt be corrected in a patch - i can't even play against two different teams this time! you pick who's on team1 or team2, and that's it :( i don't understand how can they cheap out on a feature that costs no money to add?

Metroid: Zero Mission continues to impress me. I finally killed that blasted worm boss that kept showing up. And I got the Charge Beam for offing him. On top of that, I finally got the High Jump Boots and Varia Suit!! Lava and heat rooms have nothing on me now.
Burnout 3: Takedown is one of the greatest arcade racers of all-time. I actually think it's better than the superb Point of Impact. They just keep making this series better and better with each game. Last night I drove a F-1 racer in a preview race!! That thing was so freaking fast. And the wrecks, oh the wrecks. The sound of cars crashing into each other, creating choas....it's just so beautiful.

It depends, there are two modes. Story mode goes through the an entire Dungeon. Lvling up to get strong enough, viewing cutscenes, and completing the Dungeon can took me an hour. Battle mode is basically you traveling around the area fighting. Thats pretty much it, it's still really fun.

Today's episode of underappreciated/unpopular games--PHANTOM DUST is awesome, folks. I've only done about 6 or 7 missions so far...and there's support for CUSTOM SOUNDTRACKS! I'm still puzzled why I'm one of the few people that cares about that option in games...putting on your own soundtrack to a game is amazing and adds even more to the experience....that is a damn scientific fact, folks. Anyway, my only complaint is that the main character happens to look a little goofy.(*and so far...ALL the other characters look better and more interesting/cool)

My bro-in-law has Phantom Dust. He loves that game.
I know everyone is singing the praises of Burnout: Revenge and with good reason but I'm singing the praises (yes, STILL) of Burnout 3: Takedown. The game is simply one of the best racers ever created. The sense of speed, the way the cars wreck. It's simplay marvelous. Yesterday I had 18 Takedowns in one Eliminator event. I just wish you could view more replays other than Crash events. That's just gay.
And I'm liking playing as Venom in Ultimate Spidey more. I had no idea Venom could slam cops into the street face first. Or snap them to the point of where you hear them break.

The cusotm soundtrack is where it's at. Since my taste in musice is greater than alot of peoples, I think it's an awesome feature. What sucks is that the original Xbox doesn't do burned discs or mp3 without modding. I'm guessing the PS3 will have the feature to play mp3s, like 360.
Playing Phantom Dust with the song Velvet Underworld in the background of the game would be too good.

yeah..perhaps it goes back to exactly what the person's taste in music is. I happen to like every genre except most country and all of hindi...so there is a wide variety of music I enjoy listening to....so there's no possible way a custom soundtrack option could ruin the experience for me....I really don't understand how it could for anyone, come to think of it. Even if all ya like is rap or rock, wouldn't it be great to play your favorite game to whatever favorite songs..?...rather than being limited to what the developers set as BGM?
on a sidenote...I enjoy the regular bgms in Phantom Dust too...it seems like they mostly used classical themes...occasionally remixed a little.
*now I've read up on it a bit...I've been missing out big time here....apparently the online community is barely making it now of course...and there are 74 Live-exclusive skills to get! I'll be online probably later tonight to see what updates/downloads I can get...I have to get some of this stuff before the online aspect totally dies of course.

Well, some games I'd really dig a custom soundtrack on. Like DMC3 for instance, since the style would lend itself fairly well to almost any music, but I just don't like the tracks that are on there.
But other games I really love the existing BMG for. Like Viewtiful Joe. Love those weird, techno-ish tunes.

This game Phantom Dust just gets more amazing every time I play and find out more...I'm getting to see and play with more advanced skills now...it's incredible. Characters can levitate, and manipulate energy to do seemingly ANYTHING....from reflection to teleportation, energy blasts, energy blade attacks, apparent telekinesis(!), status effects, etc. The environment is highly destructible, and your opponents take more damage apparently from falling onto or getting hit by the rubble! There's so much "stuff" going on...such a nice level of strategy but at a nice decently fast pace....and everything just looks cool. It's like a post-apocalyptic DBZ, with much more detail to...everything. Despite the phrase "post-apocalyptic" bringint to mind things that are painfully cliche by now....this game still comes off as something new and refreshing...and interesting. I'll say it now...this would be one hell of an awesome special-effects loaded movie...with spectacular super-powered fight sequences. I will be hooked on this one for awhile.
custom soundtrack fun---playing a mission to "Burly Brawl" from Matrix Reloaded was cool of course..and I just finished a mission with Ice T's classic "Bitches 2" on the background.
It will be a shame if this game doesn't get at least 1 sequel.

there's so much depth here from what I'm seeing...the number of "skills" you can get is amazing. There's several varieties...including abilities that "erase" the skills of your opponents. Much like with Brock's Fear in UC2...I always enjoy removing people's special powers for some reason.

Well I took out Ridley in Metroid: Zero Mission. The little freak grabbed me a couple of times and drained a 3 of my Energy Tanks. Good thing I was still able to shoot him while he grabbed me. Still, he put up much more of a fight than Kraid did. I'm in Tourian as I type this now. Blasting Metroids in the first Metroid games is quite an experience. Not like this is the first time I've capped a Metroid but this is me capping a Metroid in a remake of the original game. That just makes it feel like, I dunno, wow. I remember the original NES instruction manual even told you how to kill the little beasts. Freeze them, then shot them with five missles before they latch on to you and drain your energy.
In Burout 3: Takedown news, the difficulty seems to have ramped up on me a bit. I had to try like so many times to get a gold on an Eliminator event. My car kept sliding around all over the place and the AI cars were out for blood.

Phantom Dust --beat the "Gyne Sisters"...they were surprisingly easy compared to other things I've been fighting up to this point. I only have 1 arsenal, and I need at least another 2-school one...since most of my skills are mid to long range attacks, with some tennis-lob-type projectiles("Bomb", for example.)...I'm having lots of trouble on this one interior level...since things like "Bomb" only hit the cieling, or the enemy can easily dodge long range stuff by running behind a wall or into another room, etc.
It seems like EVERYTHING is destructible in this game...I love it. The interior level I was just talking about...you can eventually destroy most of the cieling, the stairs, put big craters in the ground, etc. Also, it's a building with 2 floors...you can actually destroy the floor in the main upstairs room, to allow easier access downstairs since you can just fall through to go down to ground floor instead of going down the stairs. And oh yes....characters can be hurt by random debris. I faced some tough enemies last night, and I ONLY won because this last enemy shot something that brought a big chunk of cieling down on itself....so he got crushed from the debris from his own attack. (I was down to ONE life point....and so was this ...robot thing. Critical situation, folks.)
Also, I have Levitate, and it's cool to fly around for a short time...but I don't use it much.

I was playing some Atelier Iris yesterday. How long is this game? My characters are around lv. 18 and I've been playing for only 5 hours! Also, the characters are extremely unbalanced to me. Klein and Arlin own so hard it's not funny. Norn and Delsus pale in comparison to those two, and in order for Lita to be useful, you have to be giving her Mana Baths every 5 minutes. If the game doesn't change, than Klein & Arlin will own all. Game is fun, though, but even though the Alchemy stuff is kinda complex, the battles are simple as hell (Klein is the only unique character).

You can bounce around from the USA, Europe, and the Far East doing different events such as Face-Off, Eliminator, Road Rage, and Crash. And taking out your rivals is one of the best feelings in the world. And te game will even give you points when you screw up and crash! How cool is that? There's a ton of stuff to unlock, too. They've even included F-1 cars in this one!! This is not a short game either. You'll probably spend maybe 60 plus hours on it. Maybe even more than that. The sense of speed, the thrill of victory, the Crash mode, this game is the one you NEED to play.

I'm still doing KOF 2k3 online when I get the chance!

The games:

Final Fantasy X (PS2)
Burnout 3 (X-box)
Fable (X-box)
Kingdom Under Fire (X-box)
Merceneries (X-box)
Prince of Persia WW (X-box)
Chronicles of Riddick (X-box)
KOTOR2 (X-box)
Grandia II (Dreamcast lol)
Skies of Arcadia (Dreamcast)Just post up which game I should play and why. I'll play whichever game has the most posts in an hour or two or whenever I post next wins.
The prize: The satisfaction of knowing you dictated my life for 20-60 hours, depending on the game.

You can actually play Burnout 3 and one of those games along with it. B3 is a great game to juggle in between other titles. Whatever you play, just make sure you play Burnout 3!!!

I'm playing fire emblem: path of radiance, and it's awesome. But, i have to give you people a warning, never, never, never buy the fucking strategy guide! Seriously, it tells you nothing, it just tells you stuff with the other vital important piece of information missing. I usually buy the strategy guides for rpgs, just to make sure i don't miss anything. But this, this is fucking gay. In one of the chapters, they tell you someone's gonna come to attack your team, but they don't tell you that there's another person as well. Then i get to close to the other, unmentioned person, and it kills one of my team mates. I've come to expect that the official strategy guides are better then online faqs, and especially so i don't have to stay on the computer while playing. BUt no, it's not, it's fucking stupid and half-assed all the way. Don't buy it, just don't buy it.(btw, it's the nintendo official strategy guide, i don't know about any others)

I just beat Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance and it was ok. Not bad, but not great either. I hope to now start Aria and then move on to Dawn.
In the meantime, my friend and I are working on X-men Legends 2.

Well after spending a few hours with DBZ: Budokai Tenkaichi, I can finally give some thoughts on the game.
If you're expecting the same style of play that Budokai 3 offered, think again. Oh you can still teleport but the fighting is more 3D than ever in this game. In fact, when you start out a fight, you're looking at your fighter's back. You can fly whenever you want. No longer do you need to be launched in the air to fly. And moves like the Kamehameha Wave and finishing moves are easier to dodge. You can dash out of the way much easier or even jump. That's right, you can jump in this game.
There's a lot more to the controls this time around. In fact, I must have spent more than 15 mintues in the tutorial. In fact, I urge anyone that's gonna buy this game to LEARN THE CONTROLS. If you just start playing without going into the tutorial and knowing what to do, you going to get your butt handed to you. Also, you can blow up just about anything in this game. In practice I was battling on the high way mountain area (the same one Vegeta fought 18) and I flew behind a truck and shot off a Kamehameha that blew said truck into pieces in addition to hitting my opponent.
You can even hide from your opponents in the background but this may not help if you're using someone like say, Vegeta, who can sense a fighter's Ki. The Ginyu Force are Scouter Types so they can't home in on their foes like the Z-Fighters can. However, since androids have no ki to trace, you gotta look for 'em the old fashioned way.
And the game uses every single transformation form that we've seen through-out the entire history of Dragon Ball. The Ultra buffed up Super Saiyan forms of Vegeta and Trunks, every single form of Majin Buu (even the dark, lanky Evil Buu), and the Great Ape forms. Every single one of them are in here.
But again, you have to spend time getting used to the controls because if you don't you're like to get frustrated and quit.

Not sure if Sparking is available here yet... is Budokai 3 any good?
---
Won the World Heavyweight Championship (by beating Orton) in Smackdown vs. Raw, using Ric Flair. First title defense was an interbrand Hell in a Cell.
Throwing John Cena off the top->climb down->pin was my craziest win (in either SvR or HCP) ever.

Currently playing Ys Book I & II for the Turbografx. I still have to beat the games and I have had the disk for as long as I can remember haha. Might also pop Bonk in while I have the good old reliable Turbografx hooked up. In the mood to pummel some people with the little caveman.

Not sure if Sparking is available here yet... is Budokai 3 any good?
Yes. Yes it is. Sparking/Budokai Tenkaichi has is a fun game but it has it's flaws. B3 rocks with far less flaws than Sparking. Sparking also dishes out some old-school difficulty with battles such as Goku vs. Ape Vegeta, SS3 Goku vs. Kid Buu, Good Majin Buu vs. Kid Buu and a few other battles.
But Saiyans and other high powered charatars is where the real fun is at. Also, the short characters = speed & pwnage. Even little Chiaoztu is a pretty good fighter. And Majain Vegeta is just too freaking good. And as far as I can tell, Fusion characters have no time limit. Also, you don't have to do the dumb dances to make the Fusion characters. They are all stand alone fighters.

I've been playing Ys I&II Complete on my PC, with english patches and fixed OST's. You might find this place interesting: http://rigg.arrowsmash.com/translations/yscomplete/index.html#0

Oooh Nice!! I had no clue anyone else on SRK has played Ys.
It would be cool to have Ys on my computer. How much did this version cost and where can I get one! haha
Also...I got the new Ys that's out on the PS2, The Ark of Napishtim. Its pretty cool. The dub is nowhere near as good as the dub for the Turbografx Ys(Which I regard as the God of all videogame dubs at the moment) But the gameplay's pretty cool. I've been playing that too.

I *acquired* the new Xbox demo disc today...Spartan Total Warrior is THE SHIT™, folks. I've lost track of gaming news...I'm guessing it's out already?
Pacman World is funny...I'm not sure a new-gen Pacman could ever be as good as the 80s Pacman games...these new era Pacman games are just so laughably childish...it's like the target audience is 3 years old. Also, the new Pacman voice sounds gay. Perhaps it's just best that this franchise be left in the 80s....I'm not even sure how I'd "update" a Pacman game for today's generation of gaming.
There's also a preview of Oblivion Elder Scrolls IV on there, and a whole episode(!) of IGPX....and some Castlevania game I've never even heard of. The Castlevania game is only mildly fun.
