Quick KH: Chain of Memories update. I'm t level 61. 545 HP and 925 CP. I found a 9 card Mega Elixir on Destiny Islands. I thought Vexen would be a good card but that only restores only about a half a bar of HP and for 60 CP, I don't think that's worth it. I'm not quite sure if I'm ready to take on the 4th version of Riku, Axle and the rest of the bosses but I'm gonna give it a try.
Played more than an hour's worth of Super Turbo vs. mode in Capcom Classics Vol. 2. My friend is going to the Ohio fighting game tourney in Columbus on Saturday so I helped him get some time in on the game Thursday night. I'm no king of fighting games but I do really enjoy them. He owned me hard but I did beat him in a few matches, incuded one against Vega, quite possibly his best character. I think I finally understand why ST is praised so highly. A few years ago, I wsn't really found of the game but now I really like it. Not quite sure if It'll replace Hyper Fighting as my fav SFII game but it really is an amazing game.

Played my friends KH2 data and made my own Gummi ship. Equipped with 3 turrets that shoot 4 lasers each and a slash piece. Mini gummi ships are just a cannon, forgot the name but the description is fires a round and explodes on impact or something close to that. Next time I play it ill see if I can make something better.
Also by accident I didnt know Reflega works for physical attacks. Since it does a strong attack that surrounds you. Dont know if reflect does the same thing but if it does let me know.

Finally beat Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories. The bosses on the 13th floor were annoying. My thumb was kinda aching after I fought Axel. The last boss was just freaking gay. Not really hard but annoyingly gay. I mean, I'm getting shot at by some blasted flower petals. FLOWER PETALS. And some of those attacks, if you don't dodge one in time, you're gonna take hits from the rest of them. The ending was nice. When I found outabout Namine, I was surprised. Gay final boss aside, KH: CoM is one of the best RPGs on the GBA. As for Riku's Rebirth quest... screw it. I have a long date with Wild Arms 2. Plus I need to hop on FFII and FFV sometime.

Not much lately. The WoW addiction has been getting stronger, leaving less and less time for other games.
I have made some progress on PoR though. Beat the Egyptian chick inside the Sandy Grave painting (Alathea or something like that). 20% done, and preparing to enter that other painting in the upper portion of Great Stairway.

Yo im back with a new DEAD OR ALIVE EXTREME 2..
When i first bought the game and watched the intro CG i was like thinking should i grab the lotion or the controller? Anyways turns out it is a pretty decent game....the boob bouncing is retarded....didnt know women can do the tit bouncing men can do!!!! the side quest are fun and the actual volleyball is fun too...its not nothing you play on a daily basis but something you play when you just wanna kick back and enjoy the reggae soundtrack and pretend you at the beach

Actually it is not too bad. It may be worth the 50 bux but it can be tediuos playing as the chicks and doing the shitty save the peasant village missions . There are way more characters to unlock now and it can really takes a long time to get them all. I played about 50+ hours of unlocking and playing it in chaos mode. It is on xbox live on 360 but i dont know the details about the 360 verision. I did enjoying playing ass Kotaro Fuma and Mushashi Miyamoto.

In all fair honesty, Riku's Rebirth quest is kinda like playing like Richter in Castlevania: SOTN. It's a lot more straightforward, you basically fight the same bosses, and Riku has some overpowered crap (like the Dark Aura). It almost feels like playing with a SNK boss in a fighting game. The bad thing about Riku is that you pretty much can't do crap with his deck because the game pretty much shuffles it at the beginning of each world and you can't create alternate decks. His last boss encounter is a LOT more annoying than fighting against Marluxia, though.
Still playing through KH 2...wow, I can't believe that at one point they even hinted about Goofy's death. That shit NEVER happens in the average Disney cartoon. KH 2 definetly feels a lot more darker than what it appears to be.
ReggieHadoken
12-20-2006, 01:02 PM
Well, Lantis, outside of not being able to create alternate decks, Riku's Rebirth doesn't sound bad. I just may play through it sometime.
Started Final Fantasy V Advance last night. Last time I really played this game was 1999 via FF Anthology. It's great to be able to play this game again with higher quality emulation. I just got my first 6 Jobs. Right now I'm leveling up a Knight, White Mage, Black Mage, and a Monk. I'm gonna work on a Theif next. Gonna be some good stuff to steal from Gilgamesh later on.
Got in some Tekken 5 last night with some buddies. Man, that game is freaking ill. Visually, it looks even better than Tekken 4 and that game was gorgeous. Gameplay wise, this Tekken IMO is the best one. The fighting seems so much more refined. Fang is a broken mofo, though. Dude has so much priority its sick. It didn't feel right when I won using him. I can still rock it with my boy Law, though.

I have to start okami over because I beat the wind village without getting the other brush strokes I new I should have gone to the capitol or completed the side quest while getting the sacred warriors. Still on a FF craze. Still playing 12 ("hammering" everything in my sight. Seriously) and starting Tactics for the umpteenth time. This time, however, I plan not to use any of the special characters not named Ramza (Orlandu, Mustadio, Agrias, etc.). I will, however, steal their equipment before dumping them (I need those knightswords). This is so I see how the game is without Orlandu/Agrias/Beowulf ownage, and I'll be able to finally experience how the job system truly is (hopefully I'll get a Calculator and a Dancer this time). After all these years, this game is still ownage (despite the horrible translation; hopefully, the PSP remake will fix this).

Played the demo of Rogue Galaxy, that game is going to be fucking AWESOME. It's by the makers of DQ8, but it has a realtime battle system. Main weapon, sub weapon(can be lots of things, a gun, a kick attack, etc.), jump, various magics, charge attacks, and yes attacks can be dodged by you simply not being in range, none of that bullshit where it hits your from a full screen away.

Ah, I still need to get Wild Arms ACF. It should have dropped in price by now and it'd be great to play an updated version of the original WA again.
FFV Advance update. Went through the Ship Graveyard last night. Man, that area was annoying. I think having one of my party memebers as a Theif protected me from back attacks and that was one place I did not one get ambushed in. Too many freaking undead fools strutting around the place. I totally forgot about FFV's insanely high random encounter rate. Anyone that thought the original FF had a high encounter rate will change their mind after playing some FFV.
Since I'm a bit a perfectionist, I like to try to have nearly all of my party members learn the abilities of many of the Jobs in the game. Right now, Faris has already learned 6 abilities. Everyone else has either 4 or 5 learned. Renna is the main White Mage because you NEED someone to heal. Bartz is sticking with the Knight Class for a while, Galuf is my Black Mage, and Faris is my Monk.
Gonna get in some Capcom Classics Collectionv vol. 2 after work tonight.

Million - What secondary weapon do you prefer in UC2? I can't seem to decide between the sniper and shock rifles.
Million
12-22-2006, 05:58 AM
Energy weapon, I guess you mean? It was all about the Biorifle for me during the end of my time playing that. The cloud can't be rejected so it was guaranteed damage unless you're a juggy with "Unstoppable" activated, and of course there is the 1-shot kill opportunity with the fully charged blob. Then there's the option to control areas with several small blobs, or placing a cloud in a crucial position... It's one of those great weapons in gaming history, where if you continually use it...people begin to call you "cheap". In terms of Explosive, it was always Rockets or Ripjack for me towards the end...occasionally Flak. No Grenade Launcher ever....that weapon was just sorry, imo. Rockets were really the more effective weapon of the explosive set, and Ripjack had headshot opportunity along with the strategic genius potential of proximity mines for an alternate mode.
...such memories...I have to get a new Xbox immediately. I can't stand being away from my baby this long. Unreal franchise....it had me at hello.
--In other gaming news/updates...I checked out Novastorm or Novaracer, whatever it is on Live Arcade. Not good at all. I deleted it already. Also, they should've released the NES version of Contra, rather than the arcade game. NES version has superior control, which of course is probably the most important aspect of a game. You can't really trust the top scores as well there, as with many of those old sidescrolling games...especially shootemup action...you can just stand there and shoot the low-level foot soldier types all day, as they will spawn infinitely.
With all the overtime money, and money I'll most likely get from relatives as my present this year....it's going to be a nice Christmas indeed.

FFV Advance. I'm 20+ hours in. Faris just got the HP+ 10% skill from the Monk Job class. I forgot all about that awesome skill. Was one of the reasons I had everyone be a monk at one point or another. I've been keeping Bartz with the Knight class for a while now. He only has one more level up on it before it's mastered. The only classes I'm not really looking forward to taking on is the Bard and the Ranger. Any class that reminds me of Edward from FFIV can't be a good thing.
Anyway, everyone is at level 26 and I found a spot where I can get 1125 EXP whenever I ecounter 5 Mini Dragons. I have Lenna as a Ninja throw a Water Scroll and then Galuf as a Summoner summon Shiva and the fights over. Easy EXP and 3 ABP.
Because of my friend's constant hounding, I've decided to play Castlevania: SOTN again. I haven't played it since 2001 and I never freed Richter to get the real ending. Way I see it, if he was weak enough to be controlled, then he shouldn't have been fighting vampires to begin with. Just send Simon, Trever, Moris or someone else that can do the job right. Probably gonna have to hit up GameFaqs to find what I need to free Richter and play the inverted castle.

Not only is Julius himself cool, but you get to use Yoko and Alucard (yep, that's right!) in it as well.
Hey Reggie... if you already think that poorly of Richter, have you played Portrait of Ruin yet? Because you can fight him in that one (well... sorta), and he is easiest to beat by throwing Cream Pies at him. Personally though, I like Richter. Rondo of Blood, his first appearance, was quite good, and he is also playable in PoR with Maria as his tag partner, and that is quite fun as well. And he's playable in SotN, too, which is also a very good CV game.

Trying to beat it on one continue with both Sayo and Niigi. Its REALLY hard with Sayo. A bit easier with Niigi cause she can absorb sooo much and shut down the later bosses in the game real easily cept for Yukari, but thats what bombs are for. I just get hit by too much random stuff still. ^_^;

:wtf: Huh? You never exorcised Richter? You probably missed out on half the fun of SOTN....
Actually, what you need to "free Richter" is to have the Gold and Silver Ring (one of those rings you can obtain after meeting Maria at the end of the spiked hallway in the Royal Chapel, I think the other ring you can obtain after defeating the Succubus). If you see the description of both items, one of them says "Wear...Clock" and the other says "in...Tower" which combined should say "Wear in Clock Tower". Of course, that doesn't mean you should go to the ACTUAL Clock Tower scene, you have to go to the big clock that's in the middle of Marble Gallery while wearing both rings.
When you do, the clock will automatically mark 6 o'clock and the floor will open up. Drop down and you will find a elevator. This will take you to a hidden chamber where Maria will give you the Holy Glasses. Wear these while fighting Richter and you will see a floating green orb above his head. Attack that orb to break it and free Richter.
I'm a walking FAQ machine. :wgrin:

That looks like a trophy next to his name............which means he's the champ of a game on SRK Arcade. The link is in the same bar as the User CP, Rules, Members list, etc......
I like Shaolin Monks. I want to unlcock SubZero and Scorpion ASAP.
However.........I hate the character change of this game from the MK series. I don't recall Kung Lao being jealous of Liu Kang, or that Liu Kang is that much of a moron. It's like Midway decided to take a huge shit all over Tobias....

Hmm...I haven't posted in this thread in quite a while.
Let's see.
Even though school has temporarily ended for me, due to needing to badly clean my room and my part-time job, I still haven't much time for games.
However, the FFTA sequel and FFT re-release thread sparked an interest in FFTA again, and, after finally realizing that my Gamecube was in the closet, I've been playing that since I don't feel like wasting the batteries of my rarely played Game Boy Advance. I must admit that the game's story is deeper than I thought though I must also admit that the game is easier than FFT (eventual PCs like Orlandu aside), if only because of idiotically playable Assassins, and that I feel still at least somewhat bitter over the deception of a direct FFT sequel (at least in name).
Anyway, since my Gamecube is up, I've decided that I'm at least going to try to unlock something in the Sonic Mega Collection or finally play a substantial part of Metroid Prime.
Due to the Metroid franchise still creeping me out, which is made infinitely worse through the first-person perspective, I've been trying my hand at the Sonic Mega Collection again, and, damn, Sonic 3 has been sodomizing me in wholly improper ways and without lube.
(Before I go completely that, I have to ask the following question: Is John Woo still going to supposedly direct that Metroid movie? I've heard nothing about it.)
I hate, hate, hate, hate, hate the fucking Marble Garden Zone.[/Kefka] (And that's saying something considering that I hate underwater stages and Hydrocity was right before this one.)
And I've pretty much been getting owned in every zone, all three of them, in this game compared to the others, though I can tell that the difficulty in this one is, overall, more reasonable than the very first Sonic the Hedgehog game.
But, and I fucking swear this, if I get more 100 rings knocked out of me by fake spikes with cannons one more damned time.... (It took me forever to "remember", if I ever knew, that you could jump on the damned things.)
P.S. Knuckles is an asshole.
P.P.S. Ice Cap, Sandpolis (in S&K), and whatever the last zone in this game is are probably going to own the living bejeebus out of me too, especially since you don't keep all your extra lives from your continues.

I managed to find Shikigami no Shiro 3 for the PC at a used store. I've been playing that. Its a lot harder than SnoS2 because they realized how good Niigi was against a lot of the bosses and in the stage, what with the cat shield, so they made Nagino NOT ultra-powerful by making more stuff that she cant absorb with bosses and more sideways/backwards bullets and whatnot. Still awesome and it just takes that much MORE skill, but it doesnt make my life any easier, haha. At least im not popping money into the machine for each credit, haha.

So I beat Sonic 3 with the default Sonic and Tales option, and, as I thought, I didn't get all of the Emeralds; I only obtained the first three emeralds, and those were all in the first zone. I also was correct in realizing that Launch Base Zone would kick my ass, though it was still easier than I thought, especially the "last boss" fight and its kickass music; Ice Cap was also a lot easier than I remember, despite not remembering those stupid crushing hazards.
Carnival Night was a lot of fun, especially compared to Marble Garden, where I almost ran out of time in both Acts--the only other instance was in Carnival Night Act 2 because it's so freaking long and has those stupid yet annoying bumpers.
Anyway, I don't think I'm unlocked anything, so I'm going to try with solo Tails so that I can see if I can get more Emeralds. Also, I'm interested in solo Tails because it supposedly next to impossible to beat Marble Garden Robotnik along, though I vaguely remember doing so before.

The last boss on Sonic 3 can actually "hurt" Super Sonic, was that "intended"? lol
Good luck with Tails solo...Marble Garden Robotnik with Tails equal a lot of lost lives.

Pfft.... You guys must be high. I can beat that boss with Tails no problem. Then again, it may help that I've beaten that game as all 3 characters about 20 times or so. Goddamn OG Sonic ruled...
ninja edit: Yes, I'm pretty sure that those missiles are supposed to cause Super Sonic to recoil, since the entire "difficulty" of that fight is running out of rings, and that is an added delay tactic.

Sonic 3. Carnival Night Zone was fun but Act 2 was especially annoying because of how long it was. I met my death in that act because of time more than anything else. Actually, I only died thrice or so and that only because I forgot that you needed to use the A button to keeping flying. Otherwise, you get "tired" and just fall, meaning that you reset in the middle of the screen and pretty much get raped no matter what direction you come from.
Other than that, it was only matter of finding out how not to hit the flame and then a waiting came until he came horizontal enough.
Solo Tails has been absurdly easy stage-wise, but all the Robotniks outside of the first--Flame Shield rapes him regardless--have been at least slightly tougher than with Sonic; the Carnival Night boss is particularly annoying because you can't make the "jump shield" like Sonic and otherwise can't take advantage of a shield. I died to time out, and then still had to take three minutes trying to jump the damn thing to death; it should be noted that this took longer than Marble Garden Robotnik.
That said, getting the Emeralds have been easy too...for some reason; I got four in the first zone alone. I have six and have currently saved at the Launch Base since I tired of playing last night and didn't want to play straight through.
(I think I need to replay my Sonic and Tails game since I didn't save in the Launch Base zone, unfortunately. It's troublesome.)

Small Arms--I'd go out on a limb here and say that brown robot that looks kinda like a chicken...it's gotta be the top tier or at least part of it. Secondary mode of fire on his weapon is a homing missile with hellified power. "Zoe" is another good one...her gun can fire seemingly faster than anything else in the game, and the secondary mode is a beam.
Assault Heroes is next up for me...

Actually, the only hard part about the Carnival Night mini-boss after I remembered how to fight it was that I also remembered, through recent empirical data, that you can be instantly killed if you get caught between the top and the floor that its destroying; I also learned through in empirical evidence yesterday that you can be instantly crushed if you somehow manage to get caught between a falling item box and floor with Tails.
Speaking of the stupid Launch Base zone, dear death, Act 2 of that zone was such bullshit last night for me with solo Tails. I actually died since the damned game doesn't apparently save extra lives (like it's supposed to?), so all 25 of my lives became just 3 when I started over and got the seventh and last emerald (not that it does shit for Tails in Sonic 3). (I find it odd that the seventh emerald was easier than the fourth given that I finally, and I don't think I'd ever realized this before, realized that you could pretty much turn all but the straight line balls and the four set of balls into coins in the seventh and final stage.)
Gah. I got so pissed off last night even though I finished the game again.
I'm probably going to finish my Sonic and Tails game again since its only saved at Ice Cap, which means that I have 4 more opportunities to find Special Stages; due to the fact that I fucked up the seventh stage five times before beating its ass, I remembered the two special stages in the Launch Base zone Act 1 that are relatively early on, so I just need to find two in the Ice Cap zone and not fuck up.
I might try starting Metriod Prime again (and actually saving this time) as well as trying Sonic and Knuckles alone--I'm pretty sure that you have unlock Sonic 3 and Knuckles.
However, I really have to clean my damned room.
P.S. Hydrocity Act 2's beginning is still a pain in the ass for me because for some reason it's easy for me to "roll stall" if I just try to press down so that I can charge up a ramp. Oh, and I similarly realized that Hydrocity is the only stage where you can instantly die if you fall wrong (due to the blowfish and the spikes on the left hand side of the beginning); that's kind of fucked up, but whatever--I hate underwater stages.
Icy EDIT: Also, speaking of Ice Cap, for some reason, it has the only mini-boss which Tails has a slightly easier time against than Sonic because it's only mini-boss where your Tails (pun not intended) are actually useful.

I'd love to see beatemup style games make a comeback...but no one in the industry seems to care about that genre anymore. There was Viewtiful Joe, but the future of that franchise is pretty much dead at this point....and there was Godhand recently, which looks great(but happens to be on the system I've boycotted all this time)...but that's about it. Ice Cap Zone One? I only found one, which I vaguely remembered knowing about when I used Gamefaqs to find the three I found in the zone; I never knew about the underwater one in Act 2, but that's because I never took the lower ground.
I don't remember where most of the Hydrocity ones are, though. I think I only ever knew where one was to begin with, and that I already forgot about despite finding it again on Saturday.

Ah, all this talk about OG Sonic brings a nostalgic smile to my face. Sounds like some of you have OG Sonic fever. And yes, Flying Battery Zone music is just too dope for words. The Damned you playing Sonic Mega Collection on GameCube? If you want to keep all your lives, I recommend Sonic Mega Collection Plus on PS2 or Xbox you can save in all of the games on there and at any point in a stage you want. :wgrin: Although I'm sure some purists will cry foul at this, as someone who played the OG Sonics when they came out, you won't hear me knocking the easy save feature in SMC+
Started Castlevania: SOTN from scratch after having not played it since 2001. Gotta say that it is nice to experience it again. The music, the graphics, the gameplay, everything about this game was still tight. I just now found out you can do spells in this game, via SF motions. I found this out when I accidentally did the Hellfire spell, killing an enemy that was twice the size of Alucard. Wish I'd known that years ago. I'm at level 9. Haven't faught the Doppleganger yet but it shouldn't be too difficult, especially with the Clock assist.
Final Fantasy V Advance. I'm in Galuf's home world. Faught Gilgamesh, which lead to one of my fav video game songs "Clash on The Big Bridge." Even better, I can listen to the track whenever I want when I select him in the Bestiary. I'm getting tired of fighting groups of enemies and only getting 1 APB after battles. That crap is annoying. I wanted to catch some monsters with the Beastmaster but enemies have to be very close to death in order for you to catch them. Ugh. I wonder if its even worth the trouble.

Also, about the name change, I realized it was you because of the avatar; I meant to ask if you had changed your name before a few weeks ago and then went back to TRAVIS before going to this name. Nothing really important:
ReggieHadoken: Yay. It's the Gamecube version, hence the constant nagging myself about Metroid Prime.
Speaking of Gamecube, I still been playing Smash Bros.: Melee, and have been cycling between manual Handicapped versus matches and Adventure on Hard or Very Hard. Nothing very important happened, except that Luigi KO'ed out someone with his taunt for what may have been the first time ever. I swear, CPU Luigi is so ridiculous.
Oh, and since you're speaking about it, I have to say that I never finished Castlevania: SOTN either. Maybe when I first up my Playstation 2 again, I'll do that after I finally get around to playing Kingdom Hearts 2.

Ugh. The ghosts. I completely forgot about them. I kept focusing on my vague memories of drowning in sand. Damn. The Ghosts can only be killed by Hyper Tails, can't they.... That is going to even less fun than I thought it would be.
For some reason, the Labrinyth Slides in the zone were easy for me...after the first couple of times. I usually drowned the times that I didn't get instantly crushed a few times.
As for the Scrap Brain zone...Act 1 there raped me because I never remembered getting to the end of Sonic 1 before the Sonic Mega Collection, though, oddly, I remembered the final boss of the game (vaguely yet assuredly), so I must have. Anyway, I dropped to my death so many times it wasn't funny, especially since it affected the amount of lives I had when I finally got to Scrap Brain Act 3 the second time around--I'm pretty sure I got Game Over'd faster than Sonic runs the first time I got to Scrap Brain.

^sho 2: LOL, speaking of the sand in Sandopolis, I had no idea it was the key to defeating the first boss in Act 1. I'm like "OMG how do I beat this damn thing!?" The sand traps in Act 2 are #$¢! I try to avoid them at all cost (of course if I'm Sonic I'm screwed either way)
The spikes did me in the Labrinyth - I'm usually good at not drowning but this stage has more traps than any Sonic game I've come across.
Game Gear had an easier version of Scrap Brain...too bad the Sky Base comes after it. ×_×

I'm getting tired of fighting groups of enemies and only getting 1 APB after battles. That crap is annoying.
Once you get to Galuf's Castle, buy a bunch of softs and go to the basement. You can use the softs on the enemies there to kill them instantly, they show up in packs of 5 and give 2 abp each iirc. I recommend mastering Hunter/Archer for your fighters there because the last skill lets you attack 4 times. Takes a little while, but its the best place to level skills outside of the last area in the game.
Although I don't know if they removed that in the gba version...

Gah. I'm getting my ass kicked in Lava Reef Zone right now. I died three times in the first act alone, and the fact that everything seems harder to see in the second act hasn't helped anything.
Other than that, Sonic & Knuckles has been rather easy for the most part. The emeralds are annoying as hell, worse than the ones in Sonic 3, but I managed to get the third and the fifth ones in one go; I kept fucking up the second in Mushroom Hill, so I just decided to not care about the Perfect.
What's surprising is me how long these stages are. I nearly died by time out in the first act of Sandpolis, and it took me about eight minutes to get through the second act of Flying Battery. It's just odd that I don't remember these things.
It's also completely odd that I don't remember anything about Robotnik's position. Thus far, I have been hit by the Flying Battery version of Robotnik, the Sandpolis version of Robotnik, and the Lava Reef Act 1 end mid-boss because I didn't know where the hell to stand. I stood in the middle like a dumbass for Flying Battery. I ran smack into Sandpolis Robotnik's armor before it even activated. And then, like a genius, I decided to wait on the side of Lava Reef so that I won't get hit by something coming down from the middle, not that I took into account something coming up from the sides.
Way to go me.
Sonic EDIT: Oh, right. And I decided to play through as Sonic.
Explosive EDIT: I just found my first ring in Act 2 of Lava Reef just to get out on the sixth emerald with only two spheres to go. [Expletive deleted!]
Fiery EDIT: Okay, so I died thrice before Act 2 was over. I still have 17 lives, but damn, that was annoying.
WTF EDIT: I managed to die to Knuckles once in the Hidden Palace Zone? Okay....

^sho 2: Somehow I found Sonic 3's 3D special stages a lot harder than Sonic and Knuckles - since I don't mind high difficulty I tried Knuckles in S&K.
I lost a life at Mushroom Hill Metal Robotnik...and Sandopolis Metal Robotnik boss moves twice as fast!! So does Flying Battery Metal Robotnik! Try Lava Reef act 2 with Knuckles...it's wayyyy different than Sonic's path. I beat the game with only six emeralds though...I gotta go back and play lol (I'm lazy)

I fucked up even with the fire shield. When I beat Lava Reef Robotnik, I had zero coins as well because it's next to impossible to any of them back since you're at the bottom of the "hill" if you get hit by something. I swear.
Anyway, I beat the game after losing once to that stupid thing with the shield and then about ten times to the end Robotnik because I forgot how to dodge the laser. Gah. I can't believe I had go through that stupid opening animation ten times....

Haha. To be fair, the SNES game simply bares a simular same name. Its nowhere near a "port". It was intended to be, but obviously somewhere someone decided to make an almost entirely new game.

Sandopolis is my most hated zone ever. EVER. Even more than the underwater zones were you could die by running out of air, and I absolutely loathe underwater levels. I died on the sandslides so many times. ;__; Sonic & Knuckles is still my favorite Sonic game though.
So I was playing Bully for a while, and I finally finished that. Pretty good game overall. It kept me very entertained, though it seemed a bit short. Fun stuff even though I didn't really like the GTA games that much and it's basically the same formula in a different setting.
I was going to get back into Culdcept, but then I remembered I hate that game so I've been downloading some abandonware PC games now, and I'm gonna try out some old school style RPGs like Darklands and Ravencroft. Problem is, I have no idea how to install these old ass games. I run the install program and it always wants to install from a boot disk? Or from a floppy, for which I don't even have a drive. I need to figure this shit out.

The Death Egg Act 1 boss' second form isn't really that hard guys. You can just duck for cover in a corner and the circling platform things and laser won't hit you. Wait until it sorta hops upward and resets, jump up and hit it once, then haul ass for the opposite corner and repeat. Time-consuming, but simple.

the sequels arent as good as mystical ninja, goemon 2 was done in a mario bro's 3 style stage select, goemon 3 was in a one player rpg format to choose stages (actually it might of been two, it was weird anyway and unplayable for me cos of the japan heavy text  )
mystical ninja was a great game thats best described as a two player 2d shenmue.

Actually, that's exactly what I did the third time around when I beat it.

I went like WTF and scrambled for my last ring (again) and just decided to kamikaze myself since the corner strategy didn't work. Fucking machine spazs out worse than I do.
Other than that, I unlocked Ristar in the extremely boring process of exiting and entering and played some Blue Sphere, which is actually kind of addictive when you don't have the find the damned giant rings, four stages up to Level 31. The fucking last two blue spheres are murder; it's the yellow spheres that make me hate the S&K blue sphere stages, TRAVIS/Ephidel. I wondering if I should do them after I hop the center into rings. Hmmm....
Anyway, I'll probably get started on Metroid Prime next, especially since I'll have even less free time if I get another job on Friday.

Metroid Prime Hunters
I just finished playing Metroid Prime Hunters this week and I must say that it's better than I had previously given it credit for. I first bought it back in April but quit playing it after a week only to come back to it recently and finish it (the single player part of the game).
Still, I'd like to give multiplayer over Wi-fi a good chance but I can never get a full match. Usually, it'll look like I'll get 3 opponents to fight against only to have 2 of them drop at the last moment. And even the last guy I have to fight plays terribly so I just punish him and lose interest soon after.
So far I've only played as Samus so there's still the 6 hunters and their alt-forms to try out.

^sho 2: Usually when I get to death egg I have all the emeralds so the boss isn't an extreme problem, but if I skip emerald hunting I sure as hell try to hold on to that last ring lol.
I suck at Blue Sphere, I remember advancing a couple of stages and that's it. The yellow sphere is the "spring" sphere that leaps you over 5 spheres. Often times I struggle to find the last blue sphere or hit the wrong yellow sphere that leads to the red ones.

And earlier you guys said something about the ghosts being invulnerable? I don't believe that is true because whenever I mess up and the lights go out, I always enter spinball rev and let the ghosts run into me, they dissipate and then I let go and run like hell for the nearest switch before they respawn.

i beat that game not too long ago. the best way to get around these monsters without leveling up is to start customizing weapons and item creation. just use alchemy and the people wit the highest alchemy level and create an orihculum (i think the price for that iis around 5000-7000) and then fuse that to your weapon wich gives you automatically 500 atk points. you can fuse it to a weapon about 5 or 6 times so you can get up to about 3000 atk points and take out tough enemies with like two hits
it makes leveling up and the game itself real easy and depending on the person not much challenging.

Your thoughts on Zelda: TP?
I was playing the Wii version, and the controls were nice. Can't compare to the GC version, but I was using component cables and the game looked great.
Well, after the first one or two dungeons, it was a bit slow. I was hating the idea of going through however many more dungeons. It picks up shortly after that though, and gets really good once you get to the third or fourth dungeon. The game has a bunch of nods to past Zelda games, with references to items, places and characters that you'd probably forgotten about. For instance:The game references Impa, who hasn't been heard about since the original Zelda
The main story is pretty coherent, with some surprises here and there. There's a lot of sidequest stuff that I probably won't get around to coming back to just yet. I clocked in at about 40 hours to beat the game.
Overall, I'd say its a great game. Even greater if you're a Zelda fan. Its a lot of stuff you've seen in the N64 games, just expanded upon and better. It adds some new elements to it, too. Probably one of the best, if not the best Zelda game so far.

Running while locked-on is nice. Although it's still annoying to lose your best target and lock-on to another reverbot if you're hit while locked-on.
And one thing that I managed to do in both games so far is get the Hoverboots later than usual. For some reason or another I would completly miss a part of a dig that had the old board needed for the boots.

Gah. Unlocking fighters in Tekken 5 is going to be a huge pain because of that gay cheap boss, Jinpaichi. I fared better with Law, taking far less loses than I did with Marduk, but I still HATE Jinpaichi with a firey passion. On a different note, Tekken 5 was the first time I was able to play the arcade version of Tekken 3. I only played that game on the PSone whenever I played it. Very nice stuff.
FFV Advance. Well, I got the Wind Drake some Dragon Grass so now I'm heading for Surgate Castle. Lenna has master the White Mage and Geomancer classes. Bartz has mastered the Ranger job and the Rapid Fire skill isn't too shappy when used with a Knight. ShinAkumax, nice link.
Castlevania: SOTN. I think I played this game for more than 2 hours last night. Beat a few bosses and have already come across Richter and some of his minions but I didn't keep fighting them because they were too powerful. Think I need to level up some more and find some superior weaponry. Also, I gotta get the blasted items needed to free Richter's useless hide.

I'm playing Unreal Championship 2 on Xbox (obviously). I can't believe how hard the difficulty is. I'm trying to fight my way through Championship mode on only the second difficultly level and it is taking forever.
The only two weapons that I seem to be any good with are Flak Cannon and Sniper Rifle. The game called me a Flak Monkey yesterday. I can get kills with the minigun but they are slow compared to the Sniper Rifle. No! Bad Iseelba! The Stinger (minigun) is just begging for them to reflect the shots back in your face and kill you. Easiest weapon to Reject. The only really good guns are the Rocket Launcher, Sniper Rifle, and Shock Rifle. The Biorifle, Flak Cannon, and Ripjack are decent. Stinger will get you killed right quick and in a hurry, and Grenade Launcher just plain sucks. The various pistols and melee weapons are all just passable, but not preferred, unless you're a reflect God, then you can just walk around in melee all the time.
And don't use the robots. They have the worst racial abilities possible. Skaarj aren't very good either, unless you're really big on the melee weapons, since they have a racial that enhances their damage. The various Necris and Nahkti characters seem to have the biggest advantages, although Malcolm and Gorge have pretty good unique abilities too.

I'd add Biorifle to that "best guns" category for sure. It has a 1 hit kill, and creates hazardous areas with the cloud...which causes guaranteed damage(unless your enemy is a juggy using Unstoppable)..and that cloud cannot be rejected. In fact, I'd say top 3 are Bio, RL, and Shock....with Shock Rifle being the #1, borderline "omgsobrokencheapshit" gun.
Live Arcade: Assault Heroes is next up for me...I may get it next week. One thing that disappointed me with Small Arms is that there's really no defensive tactics, like simple shields or a block feature. It's really a matter of "whoever gets shot the hell up faster is the loser". Some defense would've helped the game have a more prolonged appeal in terms of gameplay. Basically, you just try to run away...and if you start taking damage, that's it, you've already lost. I would've put in a shield just like Smash Bros....one that eventually runs out, but naturally recharges itself.
One character has a flaming bag of shit as his head. Immediate cool points for that. The name? Dr. Von Brown.

i beat that game not too long ago. the best way to get around these monsters without leveling up is to start customizing weapons and item creation. just use alchemy and the people wit the highest alchemy level and create an orihculum (i think the price for that iis around 5000-7000) and then fuse that to your weapon wich gives you automatically 500 atk points. you can fuse it to a weapon about 5 or 6 times so you can get up to about 3000 atk points and take out tough enemies with like two hits
it makes leveling up and the game itself real easy and depending on the person not much challenging.
Thanks for the info.
In the past few days I've dropped Sophia and started using Maria instead. Also, I now control Maria while leaving Fayt and Cliff to do most of the heavy fighting while I shoot from long range. Turns out that this works pretty well. Battles aren't too hard and the hardest thing for me is to look out for the HP of my team.
About the item creation and weapon customization. I've already made about 5 orichalcums and I'm thinking that I'll just duplicate the +500 attack on each of those. But also I've started making Boots of Prowess that can give me +30%Atk/+30%Def. So that leaves me wondering just how to balance the effects I'll be putting onto my weapons. I'll just decide how many of each to make later but something else I thought about has me wondering. Some items I've made have effects that say "Shoot out balls of (insert element) when attacking". Do you know if these things are worthwhile in pursuing?

Clearly I need to learn how to use those weapons, because I'm not effective with any of them. Biorifle seems goofy, RL and Shock Rifle I understand how they should be used but I can't seem to get them to work right. RL I always try to use the charged shot and seem to miss, and Shock Rifle doesn't seem to have the explosive range that it did in Unreal Tournament :(

dont waste your time on those ball element shooting things its nothing big. and anyways its better to create a powerful weapon thats not element based so you dont have to worry about accidently healing an enemy especially when you can get attacks up to 14000. by the way the best weapon/easiest to get for upgrading is probably laser weapon since it already starts out wit 500atk points

Fable for the PC was an excellent game. Not long enough though and limited magic options, but outstanding graphics and controls were easy to learn, a deifinite recommendation.

I can't finish games. 30 hours into FFXII. like 20 hours into the last Fire Emblem on the gameboy advance. 10 hours into FF Tactics. 20 into Suikoden II. 2 hours in gears of war. 9 into Oblivion. 10 into Jade Empire, 40 into Knights of the old Republic. 30 into Fable. 8 into Dragon Quest VIII. Star Ocean 2 and 3 are sitting on my shelf. Shadow of the Colussus I haven't beaten and I'm at the 3rd boss. Resident Evil 4 I believe I'm 9 hours into.
I hate this shit sometimes. What ends up happening is that I get absorbed into work or other social activities and then I try to come back to those games and can't remember SHIT about what I was doing. More and more the only thing I care about are pick up and play games cause they're the only thing I can actually play with any frequency. The worst part is, I have no issue finishing something like a GTA game. Maybe it's ADD. I dunno. But I can only really binge game cause of how my life is currently.
I think a lot of it has to do with narrative. Some games keep me interested and some don't. Repetition is a huge problem for me I guess because I can't stay focused. I had no issue finishing Final Fantasy X, the Chrono games, and various other RPGs because something kept me engaged. I lose interest quickly if something doesn't latch onto me or more "revelations" about the plot aren't thrown at me quick enough to want to keep following. Hell, I can sit thru long ass game as long as the story doesn't have pacing issues. I hit a lull in FFXII, which is prolly why I stopped. Game is fun as fuck, but my god, the plot hasn't gone that far. Same with Fire Emblem. Same with Tactics. Shit, I stopped playing Xenogears at 30 hours cause the plot literally went NO where. I stopped playing Knights of the old Republic cause I knew who my character really was. Fable I lost interest in because there wasn't enough direction. Dragon Quest VIII is such a slow burn that I never got interested in the first place. Oblivion is almost overwhelming large but I find it interesting in a fleeting sort of way.
I still really enjoy gaming but I just don't do it enough. Seems like I'd rather boot up a 16 bit title than a title on the 360.

I feel the same exact way. I sit down with FFXII for about 5 hours and think I'll see it through, next time I play I just don't feel like playing it. Gears of War I know is a good game, but I just haven't told myself to sit down and play it. In fact, the only games I play for the hell of it are Phoenix Wright games, DOTA, and fighting games.

I hear you ronin, i have a easier time playing dead Rising, Kingdom Hearts 2, Marvel , Burnout Revenge , SF2 HF , And Zelda : TP cuz they keep me entertained, and are quick pick me up and play games. I stopped playing Oblivion, Tales of symphonia, Shadow of the colossus, Kameo , and FF8 cuz the game and story just, isnt keeping me in there ya know, like its not trying or something, i just cant get sucked in and have a reason to keep on going like those other games i just listed.
god if war is a excellent example of what goes right, keep wanting more, more action, sick story with cinemas at the right
