just finished playing zelda: wind waker... which is better than twilight princess in pretty much every aspect (especially boss difficulty. TP's bosses fall to their knees like hos) Just make sure you have pic in pic or a psp before you start playing the game.

How is that? I always wanted to try it but never did.

I think that if you have Holy Armor equipped, Richter actually becomes a breeze. Wear it, and laugh as Hydro Storm basically becomes a pleasant shower.
In the inverted castle, don't expect too many cinemas, because there are only gonna be a couple before the final battle. The normal enemies are murderous now, though (some attacks will surpass 100 DMG), but there will also be some pretty cool vintage stuff, which you will instantly recognize if you're a CV fan. :wgrin:
I have so much crap in my inventory that I probably did have the Holy Armor but never thought to epuip it.
Well I played through some of the upside down castle for nearly two hours. My word, the regular enemies are BEASTS. Some enemies are doing 49 damage to me in one hit! And then there are times where I have to run back to a save point after fighting 3-5 of these fools in a row because my HP dropped so much.
My copy of Castlevania III always crashed on me so I never got very far. However, I'm pretty sure the three characters I fought all at the same time druing a boss fight was the entire cast of CIII. I specifically remember Trever Belmont throwing a corss at me, though I didn't know it was him at first until I stopped and looked at his sprite. Who's side is he on anyway? Firs Richter then Trevor.
Frankinstien can do serious damage to you in this game if he touches you. I actually died the first time I fought him because once you got caught in his roll, it was nearly impossible to get out of. So basically, the upside down castle is no joke.

Actually, the whole cast of CV III members you fight in that match are just fake demons (as you can tell from the beginning of the fight when you see the 3 skeletons in the coffins). This is confirmed if you go back to the Master Librarian and check his bestiary (their description says something like "Ghoul impersonating Trevor/Grant/Sypha").
But yeah, Alucard can get to beat the shit out of not one but TWO Belmonts. :badboy:
And since you already fought Frankie, did you see what the guy leaves behind? Yep, a body part of Dracula...which is a nod to CV II, in which you had to collect Dracula's body parts. And if you think about it, only the vintage CV bosses will possess Dracula's body parts, which I think is a nice touch.
But you haven't seen ANYTHING unless you face the 3 screen-high bosses. :wow:
On that same subject, I'd like to hit Sonic Spinball again. I think I beat it once. Once. But I can't remember. Shit was frustrating.
God, this is the truth, I never actually did beat that game. Some of the levels are confusing as hell.
Winter break is almost over and I've spent most of my time playing Gradius V (PS2) and Virtual On OT (with sticks on the Dreamcast is top notch!). Also, various iterations of Armored Core, mainly PP and MOA, but also a little Last Raven; because I don't plan on picking up a next gen system for atleast a year.

Word, another thing I hated about the reverse castle were the traps. There were times in the Black Marble Gallery I would easily lose over 100 points because I land from a huge fall and not jump right away (to cancel the recovery of the crouching animation)
Bezzelbub is annoying as hell because of those stupid flies and Galemoth (sp? name?) is even worse! Losing about 75 hit points at least was hell, not to mention the insane amount of hit points he has as well. But after a while, he becomes a lot easier to handle. To this day I still have so much more trouble with Bezzelbub than Galemoth.

I shall wash away all your troubles today with these easy methods!
Against Beezlebub, equip the Topaz Circlet. That way, the maggots that Beezlebub drops on the ground will heal you once they touch you. Against Galamoth, equip the Beryl Circlet. Every time Galamoth tries to shower you with lightning, it will heal you BIG TIME!

Beat God of War again. Honestly, that is easily the best PS2 game out there. It just had everything. The combat was amazingly fluid: simple enough to get into, deep enough that it makes you want to keep playing. The graphics and artstic design is extremely well-done, as is the story and music. Can't wait for GoW 2, because it's gonna be early GOTY-material.
Playing some more of UT2004, BLACK, and New Super Mario Bros. Looking foward to Metal Slug Anthology if they stop delaying the god damn thing.
Tales of the Abyss
This game is by far an excellent RPG and better than symphonia. Main character may be a whiny douche but there are plenty of others to choose from.

I've been trying to play Syndicate on PC, but I can't get past the second mission. I hate the fact that the roofs of buildings don't go transparent when you enter them. That is just retarded. I have no idea what I'm supposed to do, since after I 'recruit' the two scientists with the Persuaderton, it shows that you have to return to the same area you started and evidently go through this duct. Which I did ... this looooong ass duct which I can't actually see cuz it's totally covered. After so long of my group walking through it though, they just died. : <

About that... I think I came across one already. It was a huge, rotting corpse. There were flies the size of Alucard buzzing around the thing. I couldn't kill the thing, mostly because of the blasted flies. Any tips?
I must have put in a good 4 hours on FFV Advance this evening. Got 6 of the Legendary Weapons. Gave Bartz The Masamune. Sword is so freaking powerful but it was even better with the Two-Handed and Rapid Fire abilities. Bartz is now broken. I can't wait to get the Mime Job.
I got Odin and Slydra summons. Odin was tougher to beat this time because I didn't have any shorukens and I didn't know where I could buy any in the merged world. The clock got down to 17 seconds when I won. Used my Fuma Shoruken and Spell Blade Break on him.
I think I end up putting more hours into FFV than any other FF game. Already over 62 hours.

Ahh yes, Beezlebub, Lord of the Flies.
I do agree that if you come in unprepared, the guy is kinda pesky, especially since the maggots he drops tend to poison you, which cause the giant flies to hurt a LOT more than what they already do. Do you have the Topaz Circlet? I suggest you equip it. That way, anytime you step on the maggots, you will be healed. I also suggest you bring along the axe as your subweapon. Great for aiming to the chest area, where the damage REALLY counts (and taking care of the flies at the same time).

Decent games, the level design in LOI is fucking horrible though. Both are worth playing through imo if you're a fan of the series, but COD is definitely the better/more interesting of the two.
LOI hate? /shrug, maybe people were expecting CV style Devil May Cry and the game fell short of that, I dunno.

3d castlevania plays better on the n64 way better...LOI was the better of the 2 on the ps2 and IMO Curse of Darkness is the worst castlevania I have played and i have played nearly all of them, minus japanese exclusives...

I have played both 3D CV games on the PS 2. Here's my honest opinion about it:
Lament of Innocence is not a BAD game, per say. It's not downright unplayable nor is there any sort of BS going on with the gameplay or controls. It suffers from 2 major flaws, though: the level design is utterly HORRID. And I don't mean shitty as in crappy graphics or something, it's just very very dull. Most of the stages are comprised of hallways/big square rooms that pretty much look the same no matter in which level you are. You will feel like you're going through the same old stage over and over again.
The second flaw is that, yeah...it's too short. I like to discover EVERYTHING in a game before I finish playing it, and in LOI, it didn't take too much to do that. I pretty much found every secret item and beaten the hidden boss in just 5 hours. Not too much depth, although there is also 2 secret characters you can play as, but very much in the same vein as Richter in SOTN (i.e. It's pretty much a walkthrough instead of going around exploring the castle).
And LOI differs in two things from the original CV series:
1. It does not take place within Castlevania.
2. You do not face Dracula
As for Curse of Darkness...it takes a lot from LOI. It DOES have a slightly better level design than LOI (although you will still find those annoying hallways and square rooms pretty often), but it also has some different stuff new to the series, like creating weapons or armor (some of which are downright hilarious). You also don't play as a Belmont (although there IS a Belmont roaming around, an old face you will be very pleased to see), which kind of adds to the different feeling about it. Some people don't like it because it doesn't really feel like CV, but I suggest you give it a try and make your own opinion about it. I liked it better than LOI, IMO, but of course both games don't hold a candle to SOTN or any of the GBA CV games.
I never played the N64 CV games throughly enough, but I'm pretty sure that the PS2 games can pretty much give them a run for their money.

Cool.
I was wondering because I've recently got into CV games from GBA Harmony of Dissonance and Aria of Sorrow to DS Dawn of Sorrow andd Portrait of Ruin. I haven't played any of the earlier titles.
I have never played SoTN yet..............but I really want to once I get my hands on it.
I bought CoD on sale and wanted to know how fans reacted to 3D Castlevania games. If I stumble upon LoI.............I may try it out.
I never played the N64 CV games throughly enough, but I'm pretty sure that the PS2 games can pretty much give them a run for their money.
pretty sure on what basis?
n64 had the right idea behind castlevania being 3d, ps2 versions didnt and the main reason is they tried to do the whole map thing like SOTN and transfer it to 3d, that is why all their rooms are variations of blocks...it was just a very bad idea imo...
the n64 ones play more like an adventure, very open, you are traveling through a world...not boxes...the boxes detach you from feeling the adventure aspect of the game imo, because its go to a box, kill everything, go to next box, kill everything repeat...too formulaic...the ps2 versions dont give them a run for their money IMO...not that i didnt enjoy them, but that doesnt mean they were good..

CV: Legacy of Darkness on the N64 is a great game. Much better than LOI on the PS2 IMHO. It plays much more like an old-school CV game, not at all like the current metroid-vania titles. The levels are well designed, the bosses are great (Dracula's final form will blow your mind), the controls are tight, and the camera behaves pretty well for the most part. Definately a great game that got shitted on by a bunch of CV elitist snobs.

I've determined that GTA:SA is the best GTA ever. Between the gang war, Jacking farm equipment, Guest appears by the "Hero" and "villain" of GTA3, and a nerd war it doesn't get much better. Keep in mind I'm only up to the part where I can work for Zero and I am laughing my ass off at it.

Another thing that will help out with Beezlebub is the super jump when the flies attack. You're immune to any attacks and the flies around Beezlebub leave him exposed for a few moments. Also if you have Power of Mist, you can use that for a "double jump" that can allow you to score another hit if you are still in the air and the flies have'nt come back yet.

I keep forgetting about all the extra stuff they give you in SOTN. Game truly is awesome. I thought it was awesome the first time I played it years ago, but now I really see how freaking sweet the game is. Appreciate all the help, guys.
So the N64 Castlevanias weren't the turds I heard they were? If not, maybe I'll check 'em out. Playing through SOTN has gotten me on a huge Castlevania kick so I may finally start my copy of LOI once I've finished SOTN. I've had LOI since late 2004. Game is still sealed.
Well my party became even more fearsome in FFV Advance. I got the Holy and Flare spells and the top tier Job Class, Mime. When I got the Mime job, I gave it to everyone in my party, took them to the basement of Castle Bal, fought Objet d'Art over and over again. I had everyone in the party have the Black ability asigned and once someone sued Thundaga, I just had everyone else mimic it. Battles went by so freaking fast. I've never mastered a Job Class where you had to get 999 ABP but I decided I was gonna do it with the Mime Job. Was worth it. Had the Mime Class mastered with my whole party in over an hour. :lovin:

Live Arcade continues to be the greatest thing...I got Heavy Weapon yesterday; that game is too fun. Once your tank gets some upgrades, it's amazing...lightning bolts shoot out, there's a laser, heat-seek missiles, defense options, a nuke of course, etc....and it has 4-player capability, folks. HW would be perfect as a portable game too...hopefully a port will show up on ....something one day. I'd love to play that at work on a break or at lunch.
This and Assault Heroes are easily the best games recently released on the Arcade.

Yeah, the CVs on N64 were okay. I really enjoyed Legacy of Darkness, but I think that was more a personal thing because the main character was a werewolf and I'm a big werewolf fanatic. But even still, the level design was decent and I certainly thought that they were more fun than LoI or CoD. My complaints about LoI and CoD are pretty much identical to what were already mentioned. Very repetitive and boring.

It probably won't "end", but it must have a finite amount of stages. Otherwise, any passcode would work (though there are sure a lot of combinations, like 10^12). I wouldn't be surprised if it went to the 9,999 considering that, though.

I'll keep that in mind when I start playing again. Currently, my Gamecube appears to have just crapped out on me while I was playing Super Smash Bros.: Melee yet again; I would hope that it is for cleaning issues, since I'm a lazy bastard and that would both make sense and be easiest to deal with (I would think).
That said, all I've really been doing is screwing around with SSBM lately, messing around with characters I usually don't play and Adventure on Hard or Very Hard as well using a manual handicaps to make versus challenge-worthy (for the most part). Jigglypuff is rather fun and surprisingly dangerous, though it seems like she--yes, I am nerdy enough to remember that this Jigglypuff is named "Purin" and is female--has to whore Smash Forward A to kill people; they should really give "Rest" (d+B) more range if they bring her back because it's utterly absurd to have to roll into people just to be able to hit.
That said, I'm finally going to hook up my PS2 again tonight and probably play SFEX2 since I've been wanting to play a more traditional fighting game again for a while (and my CvS2 on Dreamcast appears to be becoming seriously scratched, unfortunately).

Those Flicky things in Sonic3D blast can be quite troublesome. Sometimes I wish that I "didn't" have to save them from extinction.
I don't remember 3D Blast being too difficult (though tag-a-long flickies can be a pain to keep track of), but I do remember it being slow and boring. Probably the most disappointing of all the Genesis era Sonics.

I'm 73+ hours into FFV Advance. Since I'm near the game's end I was in a hurry to beat the game but not anymore.
Now I want to just take my time and screw around with the game. I got three of the GBA exclusive jobs, Cannoner, Oracle and Gladiator. Only need 300 ABPs with everyone and they'll have mastered the Cannoner Job. One of the reasons I wanted to go through the Cannoner with everyone: EXP Up ability. This baby gives you one a half times the EXP you get after each fight. Awwww, yeah! Leveling up just got easier. Now I just need to find some suckers that will give me 2500 or so EXP when I slaughter them. I only had to reach 150 ABP to get EXP Up, but I wanted to master the job so I could get the potentially awesome Combine ability
Oracle has a skill that I MUST learn and takes 150 ABPs: ABP Up. Like EXP Up, you get one and half times the ABP per fight. I thought you could do some broken stuff in FFV even without these new Job Classes but now you can do way more broken things. I'm gonna master all three of these new jobs. I think I'll even take down Shinryu so I can get the Ragnarok sword.

And then there's Sonic 2 for the game gear - the most hardest Sonic game I've ever encountered.

I feel ya' on that one. Sonic Spinball was the only 16bit sonic game that I didn't complete. I just consider 3D Blast more disappointing because at the time I had higher hopes for it. Obviously both of them fall faaaar short of the original series.
I did own a Game Gear back in the day, and I remember playing a Sonic game on it, but I don't think it was Sonic 2. Let me know how that goes.

FFV Advance is so owning my life right now. Over 80 hours in. I honestly don't care if the clock hits 99 hours. Honestly, I hope I can go over the 100 mark so I can know just how many hours I spent playing this game.
Anyway, I finally found a good level up spot. In a castle area of the Interdemensional Rift. I usually get 2050 to 2500 EXP here depening on the foes I run into. Iron Giants alone are worth 2500 and I can kill those things in one hit with Odin. Well as long as he uses Zantetsuken, that is. It never misses when he uses it. Love instant ownage.
Picked up some Genesis games yesterday. They were totally unexpected purchases. MUSHA and Dynamite Heady.

Oh man, KOF XI is awesome. Obviously mastering the game is difficult, but the engine is hella fun and not that complicated at all. Just read a quick FAQ on it and you'll get an idea. It took me and my friends about an hour to get the hang of it and we were soon busting out some decent tag combos.
BTW, is there any good competition for NGBC in Angeles? I'll be back in the PI in 2 weeks and I usually hit the malls there. I had some decent KOF and T5 action last year, just wondering whats being played lately.

yeahhh...when did that happen? Of course, arcades were dead a long time in Memphis before Project Justice or Rival Schools were even thought of. I haven't even seen an arcade in many years now.
such great memories....the Gold Mine at Mall of Memphis; it was the spot where I saw SF2 for the first time. It was also the place where I played Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom(I don't think this version was ever released on a console...if so, not an arcade-perfect one), the old Star Wars arcade game, Mortal Kombat, Karnov, Bad Dudes, Rampage, Ms. Pacman, Xevious, Zaxxon, Tron, Time Traveler...
..speaking of that, WHAT happened to the cool hologram tech, Sega?! It was just Time Traveler, and nothing else beyond that. Of course back then it was just recorded video footage of live actors....but think of what could be done now with real time, high quality 3d + holograph tech. Back then, the hologram was so good, it really looked like you could just pick up those little people like action figures. Shame that the entire industry apparently gave up on this and virtual reality. Those are the paths to real innovation right there, but nobody wants to even begin to take the risk of forging ahead.
Phantasy Star U. --my shop and recent solo missions brought me up to the 100k level in terms of meseta. I haven't played in the last few days though, since I'm way ahead of my friend, and he's gone back to playing Enchanted Arms for some strange reason.(turn-based RPG = instantly worthless to me.)

Yes, it's for on the Naomi board. It's known as Moero! Justice Gakuen (2000) in Japan, and I'm sure that I've played an English version at another mall.
Easy way to differentiate the arcade version from the DC ports is that the former has the Kyosuke skywalker glitch (:qcf:+:2k:).

Trauma Center and PoR... smart man. Both those games are great. I played the demo for Rogue Galaxy and I honestly wouldn't recommend it. The battle system is like... KH1 meets FFXII. And, to tell you the truth, both of those gams are much better.... If you don't have FFXII yet, I would HIGHLY recommend that instead. Not because its FF, but because its awesome. I dont own it but played about 14 hours into it and enjoy it so far. The game has a juggle system where each of your 4 characters attacks is applied to one of the buttons on the controller. Its fairly difficult in some areas some normal enemies can kill you easily. Currently im stuck in this area where its raining and lightning strikes can hit you. Whole party is around 18. Also I currently have about 15-16 character to chose from at the moment with each having different starting skills. They share some attacks though.

Welcome back, Fighter X, was wondering where you were all this time.
Castlevania: SOTN. Beat four bosses today. First was Death. I thought for sure he was going to dish out mad ownage. Sure, Death had some tight forms but the fight with him was sadly anti-climatic. Yeah, he could do some heavy damage but all of his attacks were easy to dodge. Second boss as another Alucard Doppleganger. This freak had access to every single skill I did. Too bad he wasn't rocking the Axe as a sub weapon. He had the richochet thing. Fight wasn't really hard. Also fought Beelzebub. I thought that fight would be tough since I got killed the first time. I stocked up on hearts, climbed all the way to the top and just chucked Axes at him. The whole fight that was pretty much all I did. A few maggots hit me but they didn't cause much damage and they were easily disposed of. I still can't believe Axe > Beelzebub. The fourth bosses I can't even remember but it was very easy.

I just finished MGS 3, and all I have to say is...WHAT A FUCKIN' AWESOME GAME! Virtually every moment was memorable, and it gives you a lot of insight on why Big Boss became so bitter against the U.S. government. Now I have a hard time deliberating if MGS 1 or 3 is better. Oh dear....
Oh well, might as well play through it all over again and find out! :bgrin: (After all, like in every MGS game I've played thus far, I always get caught a lot the first time through, die several times, and kill a lot of motherfuckers because of it).
And on the SNES side, I played King of Dragons. It's one of the many beat-em-up games Capcom released back in the day. This game must have been the fairly old predecessor to the D&D games, and it shows...King of Dragons has a fairly "generic" cast of characters (a Fighter, a Wizard, a Cleric, a Dwarf, and a Elf), somewhat common enemies (orcs, skeletons, lizard men), and the typical bosses you can find (dragons, wyverns, knights, and wizards). The game has 16 stages, but considering the length of some stages (which are comprised of mostly one or two batch of enemies to face the boss afterwards), you can beat some stages in just 3 minutes or so. The premise may sound cool, but the moves of your character are very bland: you only have 2 attacks (standing and jumping, no combos or even finishers here), a blocking move (for some characters), and the usual "special move that drains energy" cliche. You have other features like random spells in a sphere or levelling up your weapons, but not much depth into it.
Like I said, I must be spoiled by Capcom's kickass D&D games, but this game just seems meh to me. Much better beat-em-up games even for the time.
DMC3:special iv had it for a while playing through it again and that anti vergil or whatever its called devil mode nelo angelo looks really tight

I decided to go ahead and finish FFV Advance last nite. Exdeath was pretty easy, but then he always is if you're ready for him. Everyone was a Freelancer and at level 60. Gotta love the Samurai's gil tossing skill. That right there is massive ownage. I gave it to Bartz & Lenna and had Krile & Faris copy tehm with Mimic.
Once I beat FFVA, I played some Genesis. Dynamite Heady is a fun, unique game. But this is what I've come to expect from the dudes at Treasure. I made it to the send level and it's gonna take me some time before I get used to fighting and whatnot using Heady's um, head. Originally I was gonna lace this post with bad puns about DH, but I opted not to.
Other Genesis game I played was MUSHA, a game in the Aleste series. Man, this game ROCKS! I knew the game was gonna own when I saw that anime style intro. MUSHA isn't the first Aleste game I've played. No, the first Aleste game I experienced was Space Megaforce AKA Super Aleste for the SNES. Game was top tier. MUSHA is also top tier. Love the weapons and the twitch factor found in MUSHA. I sucked at the game at first but now I can make it to the third level. I think managment of your weapons is also important in this game. You can change the firing style of your weapons at any time but I think Forward and Free are my fav types.
Started Final Fantasy III on my DS a few hours ago. Man, this game is super old-school. Kinda feel like I walked into a Dragon Quest game. Random encounters in this game are higher than those in FFV! I'm talking less than 4 seconds passing and I'm already into my next fight! :annoy: But this is a game where you gotta level up your crew or you'll die. Personally I would have been fine in FFIII got the same update treatement as the FF GBA games but I'm really digging these 3D visuals now that I see them up close. Also, the soundtrack is tight. Can't believe I already got an airship so soon. And I can land it on sand!! About frickin' time!! I've got a full party and I'm leveling them up for whatever lies ahead. Almost 3 hours into the game and everyone is at level 7.

I'm really getting into FFIII on DS. I've already out in more than 10 hours and I've got a canno and ship for sailing. Had to beat a Giant Rat to get the ship, though. the rat could attack two times back-to-back. :annoy: I hear other bosses in the game can do this. Everyone has over 250 HP. I do like that your HP doesn't change whenever you change jobs. There's also a bad side to this since you get no HP increase when you change to a Monk or a Warrior but I'm glad my Mages don't lose HP, so overall, I really don't mind this.
My friend told me I can beat Dracula and finish Castlevania: SOTN. But I know there are still parts of the inverted castle that I haven't explored yet. Plus I don't have all of Alucard's weapons/armor. I'll play the game later on to see what I can do.

Go into a random battle with one monk that knows Chakra and the other party members with weak weapons. Kill off all but one enemy. Technically, you can go face Dracula after you defeat Death (if you've gathered all his body parts by then). The Reverse Catacombs are like an additional challenge, complete with the uber-hard secret boss (who can also be foiled by using proper equipment). Try checking the bestiary with the Master Librarian. Some enemies should have 2 items that they can drop (some have none), but BE WARNED! Be prepared to invest some time into searching for secret items yielded by enemies.

I know what you mean... but I went far in 1.6, and once the switch came from 1.6 to source I just stuck to 1.6. Not because I didn't like it or because I thought it was shit.. really I think it's the future of CS, but I did find it 10X easier then 1.6. 3 shot burst was broken in 1.6 and is 10x more broken in Source. Once you master the art of the 3 shot(ak or m4), Cal-I is not far.
I stick to playin 1.6 just because it's more difficult and has some form of competition. I take it a bit too far by playing with no sound though... I find it funny that people still have the nerve to say I HAX0R.. hahaha.

Try messaging him over Yahoo or AIM sometime, he probably knows other places where 3s players gather.

Wow I didn't know the game still had that much more to it. I actually finished SOTN. Dracula wasn't hard at all. I thought for sure he'd have two forms but nope, only had one. The ending was a good. SPOILERS

Every member in my party is at level 18 on FFIII for DS. I stocked up on healing items and items that cure status alments. This game is more challenging than some of the later FFs so I may never knwo when I need 'em.
Played some Tekken 5 last night and my game has improved considerably. I managed to beat my friend in 3 rounds in a row twice with Law. He brought King, his best character but I kept dishing out the ownage. Later I picked Law again and he thought he was gonna school me with Law. Interesting. Never heard about that.
My GBA Castlevania trilogy is finally complete. I found a used copy of Harmony of Dissonance for $14.99 at GameStop. Uh, so what music should I listen to while I play this game? I heard the soundtrack is freaking horrible, and for me, that is just inexcusable for a Castlevania game.
I also bought these used but with boxes and instructions at Game Crazy:
Fire Emble: The Sacred Stones $11.99
Drill Dozer $15.99
I actually wateched my friend play and beat Revenge of Shinobi last night with out infinte shorukins. Game looks like it can be pretty tough in some places. Both. The Geomancer does rape at the point of the game you're in. They have very good physical attack power, Terrain just beasts on everything if you're lucky enough not to be in a place that houses insta-death Terrains (they miss a lot), and they murder Hein.
I don't know if I should play through the game again, but this time whoring out item-duping and HP-increasing. The game gets really frustrating at the end (there's a sudden LEAP in difficulty, and even though are somewhat stronger by then, it's still a massive jump compared to usual), so it's almost not worth it for me to play again. I really want to overkill my HP using Monks/Black Belts, though, so I'll think about it.

It still surprises me that playstation apparently didn't have enough RAM or something to have the full roster of monsters in Doom. I loved the psx version, but that one detail continually irked me... the absence of the Arch-Vile. There was no Arch-Vile in the psx version at all. (*at least not in the first one. I didn't play the psx version "Final Doom" much at all. The first Doom has completely disappeared, btw. I'd have more faith in finding gba Double Dragon Advance than finding psx Doom. It has vanished from our plane of existence.) However, the atmospheric *ambient sounds* music was far better than the PC version's random midi-rock, imo.

I also just got the fire crystal. I gotta bo back to Tokkul. Dude said I have to have a Shcolar for an upcoming boss fight. I'm not impressed with the Scholar's abilities at all. Yeah, it's nice to be able to determine an enemie's weakness and HP but if you already know this stuff before hand, the class seems useless IMO. Though, I do like how they look when they are in the job's class.
I'm not too sure what jobs I should have everyone with or what all I'll need later on. Right now I'm got a Warrior, Knight, White Mage and a Black Mage. Gotta have someone heal and you need the black magics for the beastage!!! Luneth is my Warrior and Ingus is my Knight. Both of them are weilding weapons in both hands. Screw shields. They get enough defense with armor equiped.
The way the Job system works in FFIII, I'm really reluctant to switch jobs because your party members aren't immidiately proficient in a different job you give them. But at times, you just gotta switch and it is fun to experiment with the different classes.
i beat God Hand...that game was pretty dope and the last guy was pretty crazy, unexpected crazy...although he was relatively easy compared to the whole game itself...

Hooray for Alucard! :lovin: I could care less if Richter dropped dead. :arazz:
Well, you CAN play as Richter in SOTN if you enter his name at the beginning of the game. Sure, his ass is weak as hell (he dies in like 3 or 4 hits, WTF?) and he can't really visit all the castle due to his standard limitations (no mist form, no Spike Breaker armor, etc.), but it's entertaining to watch his Item Crash specials. Some bosses go down FAST with some of those. :wow:
Ranting about Richter in SOTN: Konami got sort of lazy with Richter's sprite in SOTN. When you first see him in the Colliseum, he is sporting his new looks (long brown hair, blue turncoat), but when you face him in Dracula's chambers, he has the same sprite as in Dracula X (even though his face portrait has his new looks). Konami pulled out a Capcom right there. :bluu:

At first it sounded cool to be able to play as Richter in SOTN. But now is sounds like they made the game TOO freaking challenging. I mean, 4 hit deaths? Ulatra gay. And you can't even explore the whole castle? That's even worse.
I'm thinking of starting the original Castlevania and finishing it. My friend tells me I should play the NES verison but I can save on my GBA NES Classic Series version. Save FTW. :wgrin: I also should get back to Circle of Moon. My friend is close to beating, I believe. Last I talked to him, he told me he beat Death. I haven't gotten past that blasted two-headed dragon.
I got four new jobs on FFIII. Dragoon, Dark Knight, Evoker and Viking. Naturally I turned one of my characters into a Dragoon. JUMP, suckas, all about JUMP!! I placed a Theif back in my party because this new town I got to had a ton of weapons and armor for the class. Theif now does damage that can surpass a Dargoon. Just wish I could build up my levels and job levels without a White Mage. The regular enemies where I am now can dish out some heavy hits so going out there without a White Mage is a no-no.
Story wise, things have gotten pretty interesting in FFIII
*SPOILERS*
Turns out the world you're in is a floating world and your party members originally weren't even born there. I had some girl named Aria in my party for a while and I couldn't stand her. Yet, I felt sad when she sacrificed herself to save Luneth. Anyway, once you get done checking out the first floating world, there's a whole new world to explore. Didn't see that coming.

Would the FF3 remake be worth buying even though I already played the original several years ago?
Depends, I suppose. Did you really enjoy the original? If so, I'd say the game is worth playing through again. Me, this is my first time ever experiencing FFIII. I'm really digging it.
Played some Sega Genesis Collection two nights ago. Got tto the last level on Shadow Dancer. Stage 5 is made up of about 5 rooms each with more powerful enemies than the last. The final room before the boss has black ninjas. My word, I HATE black ninjas!! :annoy: And wouldn't you know it, the final boss summons black ninjas to do his dirty work! :annoy: Shadow Dancer's one-hit deaths was something I was never found of but it didn't turly irk me until I fought the final boss. Dude's weak point isn't always showing and he summons more and more black ninjas and I HATE black ninjas!! :annoy: It tried again and again but I eventually gave up out of frustration.
Back to FFIII. I'm in some town where some series stuff is going down. I found a lot of sweet Dragoon gear, though. Luneth is going to be even more pimp as a Dragoon now than he was before. Actually, with all the Dragoon gear I found, I can now have two Dragoons in my party. I haven't found a single new piece of armor or weapons for White/Black mages since forever and Refia takes so much damage with only 16 defense. The best I could do and still keep her as a magic user would be to turn her into a Red Mage.

Need help with God of War.............
How do I beat all the Kratos Clones while protecting my family?
Ideally, you should have you're god meter and magic meter full. Hopefully your Poseidon's rage and Army of Hades is leveled up all the way too.
Basically you're going to do a couple of things:
-Stay near your family whenever possible to heal them and to fill your god meter
-It starts out with a couple clones. Beat ass with your blades using the square x2, triangle combo
-When it gets hectic, start off with ONE Army of Hades to juggle them then keep rocking Poseidon's rage until your bar is gone, then activate your Rage of the gods. Once you do that, one Army of Hades then switch to Poseidon and keep hitting that. When the Army of Hades ends, switch back to it and do the cycle over again. You should be able to go through the cycle 3 times if you're fast enough. Remember though, only go for your magic and ROTG when clones are everywhere. After your rage is done, you should have a full magic meter again with all the blue orbs that you just got. Do the cycle again except this time, while Army of Hades keeps juggling clones, go over and hug your family to build your ROTG meter back again. Remember though, your family needs health in order for you to do it and have it work. Rinse, repeat cycle until all douchebags are done.
-If your out of both meters, group the clones together and use the square x2 , triangle combo to knockdown and launch. Once they are in the air, feel free to either keep hitting circle to continuously juggle or go hug your family to build meter (the smarter way to do it)
Hope this helps

Ah, Mega Man X. You and your super-broken SF moves.
I love Mega Man X Collection but I just wish X would say "Hadouken!" whenever he throws Ryu & Ken's trademark move.
I'm still going full throttle with FFIII on DS. Ingus as my Theif is just too freaking good. He's doing more damage that Luneth as a Dragoon. Some of his normal attacks rack up 1800+ damage. Of course Luneth is no wuss either. You do not screw with a Dragoon's Jump ability. If you're an enemy who is flying then consider yourself effed.
Toughest boss battle yet was against Garuda. Dude has a nasty Lightning attack that hit everyone for 400-600 points of damage, meaning anyone that didn't have close to max HP was dead. I had to fight this boss about four times before I actually beat him. Even with three Dragoons in my party it was not easy. I had Ingus, Arc, and Luneth Jump when I thought the time was right, assuming they wouldn't get hit with a nasty attack. I won and was lucky that everyone survived the fight.
It is kinda ironic that after I finished FFV Advance that I started playing FFIII because the story line of FFIII is similar to FFV. Light Warriors chosen to protect the crystals? Yup. Multiple worlds to explore? Uh-huh. A world that was once one but was split? Yes, sir. Underwater travel? You got it. Job System? Check.

Can anyone tell me what Final Fantasy Tactics Advance gets so much hate? I own the game but haven't opend my copy yet and I still haven't really dove into my copy of FFT on PSone.
the law system basically, it's pretty easy to forget what is not allowed in a battle and get severly penalized for it. then there's the lack of a real versus mode which Ogre Battle Advance has. also you need to know someone with the game in order to trade certain items to complete certain sidequest missions and even that takes luck since the other person will probably not have the items you need to start it. the fact you can't steal shoes.
but all in all it's mainly the law system that gets all the hate.

Got RE4 for PC and wtf, no mouse support haha.
Hopefully I'll play more than the hour I spent on the console versions.

Also, nearing the end of Gears of War.

Guitar Hero 2 has me by the balls right now. Just started fooling around with Hyper Speed mode on expert. Helped me beat my high scores on thunderhorse, the light that blinds, and push-push lady lightning. Good game.

How many of you guys have played the JAK and Daxter trilogy on ps2? im borrowing the first one and plan to play all 3. any good? ive always wanted to check them out, i love platformers.Personally, the Jak games suck ass. Jak & Daxter is a mind-numbingly simplistic platformer. Jak 2 has a somewhat interesting story, but the gameplay is pathetic. It's basically what you would get if you mixed the GTA-style freeroam city and mission running with Super Mario 64-type levels, and then threw in the DMC Devil Trigger just because you hadn't ripped off enough ideas already. Then there is the really shitty auto-aim that makes the minigun and rifle worthless. The Devil Trigger is also worthless because it takes way too long to charge and doesn't do enough extra when active. And finally the last gun is super broken because it has partial homing, fires off AOE chain lightning on impact, and you can have infinite ammo for it as long as all your other weapons have full ammo at the moment, because then everything you kill with it will drop more ammo for it. The vehicle controls are sluggish and unresponsive. There are a few "protect the target" type missions, which everyone knows suck unless it's a strategy game. Hmm... what else sucked? I know that there was more, but can't recall. That should still be enough to prove my point. Jak 3 seemed marginally better than 2 but still asstastical.
At this point you might be wondering why I still played the games.. Well... For one I did like Daxter. He was cute and funny. The other is that I enjoy platformers enough that I kept up hope that the next would be a vast improvement.
Wow, I almost feel like Stabby, that's so negative.

Thanks for filling me in. At first I thought the hate wasn't a big deal but now that I know the cause, it really does sound like a big deal. Seriously, that makes me not wanna play FFTA now. I don't wanna go into battle and have to worry about every little action I take possibly screwing me. That's just gay.

Man, that game sounds so freaking sweet. I've heard nothing of good things about GHII. Game even has one of my fav Police songs, "Message In A Bottle." I need to pick it up along with the first GH.

Well I got the best Airship there is in FFIII. Not only is it huge, but I no longer need to stay at inns because I can sleep on the ship to restore HP/MP, but I can also give items to the Fat Chocobo on is on board. I can also buy weapons/armor on the ship along with high level magic.
Everyone in my party is at level 40 and doing sweet damage. I'm gonna go aftet Odin, Leviathan, and Bahamut so I can summon them when I obtain the Summoner job class. Just gave Luneth a trident and his attack power skyrockted as a Dragoon. Arc is also doing pimp work as a Viking. Ingus is my Monk and Theif and he's doing execellent damage as both. I may finish this game just in time to start FFVI Advance in a week or so.

I still honestly can't believe people are bitching about the Law System in FFTA.
Sure, it sucks. But if any of you bothered to pay attention then you'd realize that you can control which laws are applied to battle. If you don't like the set of laws selected when you land on a spot, then restart your game and avoid it by visiting different cities until your destination has an easy set. They change every day, so just save your game and keep wandering around until you get whatever you want. Of course, this only applies to maps that can be changed... but it makes the game a hell of a lot more enjoyable (and easier) than it already is.

Hey Geese Pants,
Did my "never fail" strategy for God of War work for you?
Honestly..........I haven't gotten there yet. I became so frustrated with Hard mode, I started over before I asked about the strategy.
When I initially started God of War, I started on Hard Mode because I wanted to unlock Challenge of the Gods, and be more prepared for God Mode, but I got tired of getting my ass kicked by minatours and cyclops...............and I was going at it with no mastery, or even understanding of the controls.
I wanted to ask here because my friends at work can't get past it, and I wondered if there was an actual strategy to beat that part.
So yeah, I'm going at it again in normal mode.........I'm at Medusa, and I feel less frustrated, and I can actually do those kill scenes better.
Attack of the Clones (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=loSNbPKsTb0)..................I think this is the strategy in action.

Is Tales of the Abyss a good game? I'm thinking about picking that up.

You can get through hard mode fairly easy. There's a trick that lets you upgrade every weapon and magic at the challenge of Atlas.
Took me about 5 minutes but God mode gets a lot easier after that. My controller still received fresh teeth marks when I got to the Satyrs though

I wanted to post my thoughts on Sonic 2 for the Game Gear
Zone 1: What? No Green Hill? Surprising but ok I noticed that Act 1 is easy. Act 2 is somewhat difficult if you take the lower path but the choas emerald is all the way at top (thank god its easy to get). But then there's Act 3, which is fucking @#$@!#@! - Robotnik actually saves you from falling into the lava (?) only to fight that crab boss - the difficulty is insane! Bombs roll down trying to hit you and the controls become ackward and confusing. I hate this zone because of the boss, and its THE FIRST ZONE!
Zone 2: I like the music, but Act 1 is a bitch. The glider controls are stupid and confusing. The only way you can beat Act 1 is if you master the glider controls though, so yeah @!@#@#$!. Act 2 is Act 1 with more spikes and traps (sigh) and the choas emerald is ALL THE WAY IN THE SKY, WTF? The emerald is a bitch to get seriously - so damn fustrating! Act 3 has 2 boss phases, for some reason I didn't have too much trouble with both - but I HATE this zone because of the emerald in Act 2.
I'll update the other zones later if school doesn't come in the way.

Sonic 2 for Game Gear sure had more than a few tough spots, especially Sky High Zone. Using the glider was annoying and getting the chaos emerald in Sky High Zone Act 2 was especially annoying. Way too much guess work on those freaking clouds. My fav Game Gear Sonics are Sonic Chaos and Sonic Tripple Trouple but Sonic 2 and Sonic 1 are still good games, IMO.
Well I've done a lot of side quests in FFIII on DS. The Sunken Cave was a great spot to level up. The enemies there coughed up 2600-3600 EXP. I've since found better places to level up like Bahamut's Lair. The enemies there give up 3800 to 5000 EXP.
Speaking of Bahamut, I fought him, Odin and Leviathan to get their summons. Surprisingly, Bahamut was the easiest one to take down. I used Ingus as a level 80+ Theif to steel Odin's weapon, Gungnir and equipped it to Luneth as a Dragoon to boost his attack power. So he's got Gungnir in one hand and a Trident in the other hand. I have Luneth use Jump and when he lands on Bahamut, he does 9999 damage. That was my first and only attack on him. He was defeated in that one strike, much to my surprise.
Oh and Theives are top tier in this game. Give them two knives and they rock hard. Vikings are also dope. I just hope Ninjas are as good as the aforementioned classes.
I am soooooo stoked for FFVI Advance. Got tomorrow off so I'm gonna pick it up.

FF3DS: Weird glitch when I was fighting Kraken. Ingus died and was stuck in crouching frames. Tried reviving him but couldn't o_O. Yet another reason why I hate this remake. I honestly don't know why I'm still playing it.
Edit: IT HAPPENED AGAIN. FUCK.

I hear Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow could become one of those hard-to-find games. Well that's one a friend told me, anyway. If this is the case than this game will be my next DS purchase.
I got a copy of it at the end of November when I got my DS and even then it was tough to find new copies. I ordered mine off of Amazon and a few weeks later they ran out of stock.

Sonic Chaos was awesome, I love that game to death.
Anyway Zone 3 The Aqua Lake is yes.....HARD! Well, not so much as act 1, but act 2 :wasted: :wasted: :wasted:
The emerald is easy to get if you know what you're doing, you only have one shot at it. It appears that you drown faster not to mention the whole level in act 2 is water, water, water!!! There is no surface in act 2 -
