Already got both ver. of ninja gaiden black, bought em first day of release, too good , worth the purchase. And i checked out bulletwitch for my 3 days off, i usually only borrow games to burn if i work next thing the next day, not enough time to enjoy a rentel, so ill just borrow, burn, and play my current games. any other suggestions? im kinda leaning toward the KoToR games.

Jesus, Erk has 13 def! The RNG has lost it's mind, reminds me of Hugh in FE6. This is the best Erk of all my saved files...

ZoE2 is a damn good action game. The combat engine is much improved from the first one.

If you get the first one, be prepared for a great story, but an annoying little bitch named Leon being the main character. He doesn't want to kill...he's the kid in the Vic Viper(!) in ZoE2.

ZOE2 is a great game. While the first one is similar it is not in the same league as the sequel. Think of it as a demo of part 2. I would suggest leaving the first one alone so you'll leave the ZOE series with nothing but good feelings.

Killed Eubans with Hector/Halbard combo (ouch) Too easy.

I'm at the desert now, I will mine glitch/trick in order to gain 700exp with another low tier to unlock genesis.

Now who's weak to soak all that exp is the question. I benched Marcus, Lowen, Rebecca, Dorcas, Matthew, Lucius, Kent, and Serra.

I want to train Heath badly, but then there's Rebecca - but I already have Wil trained *_*

I've been playing Crackdown on the 360 lately. I've got 32-43 achievements, which is cool. I'm just waiting for the "reset bosses" patch then I'm going to get the co-op achievements with my mate. The others (all green orbs, all blue orbs, all races, rings etc) will come in time...

Narrowed it down. (Desert Chapter on FE7)

I wouldn't train Kent or Lowen...Sain is my go to paladin now. I wouldn't dare touch Marcus...
Serra is out of the question, this isn't AA.
Lucius maybe, but I'm not a big fan of his luck or def.
Rath could be AA anytime with that speed.
Rebecca could be AA, but she's easier to train here.
Dorcas-nope. Dart and Bartre have been trained...
Heath - Makes sense to train him here. I need another flyer!
Matthew no. Legault is trained.

Goes Heath! :)

I Wasn't too fond of Crackdown. I drove around the city and did random stuff, but it was too GTA clone for me. I have been playing alot of PC games though, BF2 and BFME 2. I thought guitar hero 2 for the 360 was horrible because of the guitar control, and I've been working on finishing off IGN's list of "10 Toughest games to beat."

Left on the list, I have yet to beat.
1. Shinobi (which I own, and hate.)
2. NES Battletoads (never played it.)
3. R-Type
4. Ghosts and Goblins.

Wish me luck.

Mega Man ZX My word, this game is full of so much freaking win. 6 hours in and I think it is one of the greatest titles in the entire MM series. Giving this game the Metroid forumula is just what this game needed but at the same time, it isn't as open ended as Metroid, which to me is a good thing. The game has some reallly good music, too. I've yet to hear a track I didn't like. I must find a game rip so I can get the tunes from this game. Thus far I've offed two Mavericks. Hivolt and some other fool who's name escapes me. Oh yeah, it was some wolverine chick.

Oh and I LOVE all the homage to the MM series the game pays. I saw the Rush Roadster from Mega Man Battle & Chase, and I actually picked up an E Tank which reads "The technology used to make it is quite old." If you're a MM fan and haven't played MMZX, you must play it.

Fire Emblem: Blazing Sword

Had some good times with GTA: Liberty City Stories last night. Did this one mission where I had to plant bunch of bombs under some tunnles. Well all was said and done, I was treated to an awesome explosion sequence. Oh it was EPIC. These two people were just talking and all of a sudden, BOOM! A car falls right on top of them. Was freaking HILARIOUS!!

Mega Man ZX. I've only found one Life Up so far. If not for the one Sub Tank and E Tank I have, I probably wouldn't have won so many of my boss fights. Too bad playing as either Vent or Aile makes zero different. Same weapons and the same story. LAME!

Still Baldur's Gate 2, working on dragon #2, Thaxyll'silliya (I normally kill her first, then go for Lord Jierdan Firkraag, but w/e). Shadow Dragon Breath doesn't have the ass-melting area of effect power of Red Dragon Breath, but most of my characters have gear based fire resistances, and if not Resist Fire/Cold is only a level 2 spell, whereas I don't have straight up saving throw v. breath weapons stuff. Also, Negative Plane Protection lasts for about ZERO FUCKING SECONDS. Anyways, I might just come back to fighting the dark mistress later in the game.

Thaxyll'silliya is a colossal hooker. (http://img514.imageshack.us/img514/8559/baldr004ry3.png)

I just finished beating FFXII. The soldiers in Bahamut were a real bitch. I would fight the first couple of 'em but when it got hectic, Sleepga + Flee ftw. Judge Gabranth was a complete hooker with his 8 hit combos when his life bar got low. Overall a great game with one of the best combat systems in any FF, or any game for that matter. The storyline was a little hard to follow and it did not seem to go as in depth as past FFs (VII, namely). Time to start playing LoZ: TP, finally.

Got spiderman3 collectors edition for ps3 2days ago and i'm bout 4 hours into it, it has it's flaws like slight camera angle problems, subplots don't connect well to movie or to each other, and counter attack timing is a lil difficult against some bosses but otherwise it's a alot of fun, improved combat system, god of war ripoff context sensitive scenes, gorgeous graphics, smooth framerate, and overall it's at least 3 tiers above the shitty ass spiderman 1 n 2 movie games i give it a 8/10.

BTW the extra content on the ps3 version is well worth the extra $10 flying through the huge city freely and wrecking shit with the new goblin using the ps3 motion sensitive controls is a very welcome addition:rock:

Secret area at Nabreus Deadlands. Exit south at the save point and walk NW on the map. You should come across a hidden path around some tall grass. From there go west and then north and you should zone again. In the area only skeletons spawn giving about 1500 exp each. There is probably a better place to level but I dont know where else to go.

Download some Gradius ROMs, instead. Gaiden wasnt really special, so you can get all the enjoyment it has, and more, from any combination of these titles from the series. In order of title, platform, and emu that runs it, here's my recommendations -

Gradius/Arcade/MAME
Salamander/Arcade/MAME
Gradius II/Arcade/MAME
Gradius III/Arcade/MAME
Salamander 2 (one of my faves/Arcade/MAME
Gradius IV Fukkatsu/Arcade/MAME

Getting two of the Sub-Tanks in Mega Man ZX has really got me steamed. One is so freaking far out of reach in area A-1 I have no clue how to get it. Went to MMHP to find out just where it was but still couldn't get it. And then there's the one in the lava area. Think its area K. Run from lava, find a hidden room and do some other crap. Man, eff it. Gotten through the game fine with one Sub-Tank and an E Tank. Besides, I can get another Sub-Tank by just doing some missions that invole repeatidly getting the Energy Drink.

Picked up Riviera: The Promsied Land for $12.99 used on GBA. Heard the game was dope and had excellent music.

If you have never played it before and have a 360 or a xbox, fuck yes, this game defines bad ass-ery. For the price you can get it now at gamestop or other places, id definately pick it up. its loads of fun and a real challenge, not for the faint or pussies * this game is too hard * it feels like a OG ninja gaiden game, it will rock you, and not in the cheap way most games do, due to poor controls or cheap ai, if you die, its legit, i never felt cheated when i died, just....got my assed whupped lol.

Give it a shot. :lovin:

GTA: Liberty City Stories still. I think I've done all the Donald Love missions there are to do in the game. I'm back to doing missions for Sal. On a mission where I have to escort him to the court house. Naturally it isn't a smooth ride as I have to protect him from some thugs.

Mega Man ZX. Got all the Biometal parts. I'm on the last levels. Came across what looks to be a Zero clone and the dude is no joke. Final Fantasy IX: For the first time. Yeah, I'm real late on this one. It's not bad so far, but I'm having a hard time liking any of the characters all that much. Although I'm still on the first disc.

Resistance - Fall of Man: I've never been much into first person shooters, but I just got my PS3 so I figured I'd give it a shot since there's not a whole lot to choose from at the moment. I'm glad I did. I love this game. I haven't jumped so much playing a video game since the first Silent Hill.

Virtua Fighter 5: I haven't played any VF since the days of the Dreamcast. 5 is beautiful, and plays great, but I'm greatly disappointed that it's not online.

Spider-Man 3: I basically wanted this simply because I love Spider-Man, and if you do, it's not too bad. The controls feel alot better than 2. Too bad this one still looks like a PS2 game though, even on the. The Collector's Edition (which is what I have) is definitely lacking unfortunately. Not worth anywhere near $75.00, but it was a gift so I can't complain much. I am looking forward to replaying the game as the Goblin though.

Crackdown--I am the law. I love how the game has some things influenced ever so slightly from Batman(the Supercar basically IS the Batmobile everyone's fantasized about driving). I get in the Supercar or the Agency SUV each day, taking that long trip from tunnel 1, emerging to dish out my harsh brand of great justice.

*the harpoon gun is such fun. That weapon alone makes all of the DLC a worthy purchase, imo. I can't get enough of the cloaking device either.

Currently playing: The Red Star and Drakengard 2

The Red Star is old school 2 player shoot-em-up heaven mixed with Final Fight, all for Twenty Bucks. The only problem with the game is the bullshit that prevented it from being released sooner, and it's hardly available anywhere. And even if it was more available, this spoiled assed generation would bitch about the differculty or the graphics not being pretty enough.

Drakengard 2 I got recently, and wish I'd gotten sooner instead of listening to reviewers. It's a great sequel, with one hell of a twisted storyline. Some of the first game's weaknesses are still there, but it's still worth every cent.

Stunt Racer acheivement in Crackdown has to be bullshitting me. The last thing to do is simply go for 200 feet on a single jump in a vehicle....but I'm sure I've gone way over that with the SUV, and now the Dune Buggy...yet it still shows "Incomplete". If it's referring to 200 feet in terms of vertical distance, I have that covered too in my jump from one of the skyscrapers in Shai Gen. Either way, the game itself is lying.

The harpoon never gets stale. I pinned a guy to a street light yesterday.....then I drove around in a police car with 3 bodies pinned on that. I finally got to see the glitchy physics that happen when you pin someone to a small garbage can. The guy and the can jittered around like a seizure, and he bounced into the street and out of view! The harpoon gun results are always entertaining.

Copy-and-paste FTW

I played through all of 3 of the GBA Castlevanias recently. My personal thoughts on each one:

Circle of the Moon: I remeber getting this game and Final Fight One as soon as I got a GBA. I didn't play alot of GBA games, this one of the exceptions to the rule. Nathan Graves(the guy you play) is one of the rare castlevania heroes(recently anyway) who doesn't look like a flaming douche. The game is very dark, but the oily-painting atmosphere really adds to the Castlevania feel that the later games don't have. The DSS system is pretty damn good, although its mostly gimmicky. However, those summons kick ass! Uranas + Thunderbird = GGPO Dracula.

Also the game is pretty hard. That last boss battle is PAINFUL. I barely beat him at the end. I had no more MP and no more MP regenration items with about 30 HP left :) Overall a pretty good game, although I have no reason to go back after I beat it.

Harmony of Dissonance: Shit. This game is just pure shit. Gay ass main character, washed out backgrounds, HORRIBLE level design, confusing ass gameplay, stupid magic books that make the game way too easy for it own good(Drucula was doing 1 point of damage to me...on HARD)...this is just a really bad game. I beat it so I just get rid of it. A big step back from COTM. Just...ugh.

Aria of Sorrow: Now this is more like it! AoS took a little longer to make, but it definately shows just how good the Castlevania formula can be. Soma Cruz may look metrosexual(my brother asked if I was a girl while playing >_<), but at least he looks cool. That a pimpass coat he got there. The level design/enemy design is the best of the three GBA; blooming with colorful areas and anime-inspired foes. The weapon system is fucking awesome, but once I got that big ass light sword and the HP draining one from the Forbidden Area, it was all over for anybody and everybody

The soul system is innovative, but for about...95% of the game I just relied on my weapons and saw the Game Over screen less than 10 times. The boss battles are all pretty sastifying, and the extra Julius mode aint bad either. Overall an amazingly good game that you should seek out if you don't already have it

I look forward to buying either Dawn of Sorrow or Portrait of Ruin for DS next weekend.

Oh, and SOTN is somewhat overrated.

...seriously

Not a big deal I wonder for the first few seconds. Minutes later nothing happens and I take the disc out to check on the game. Full of scratches! Congrats. Game has the most brutal AI. Period.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

I started playing Scurge: Hive on my DS a few days ago. The game is a lot like Metroid but with an overhead pespective and you cant move onto the next area until you complete the area you're in. I dislike the fact that you can die in two ways: 1.) Loss of HP, 2.) Being infected. Now method no. 1 of dying is a given but method 2 is just plain cruel. You are always infected and your percentage of infection always goes up. Yeah, you can visit save points which double as a decontamination unit but enemies can also speed up your infection. Just a bit bothersome. The game is really enjoyable.

Since I finished Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories and Mega Man ZX over the weekend, I started up Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories on my PS2. Game has a lot of great '80s music and it rocks to be back in Vice City. But why does Vic have to be such a square? I love how he beats people and chokes them but he really needs to unleash his inner harden criminal.

Never thought I'd like doing paramedic missions more than taxi missions. I mean, I do taxi missions no matter what GTA game it is. Well I was doing taxi missions in VCS and some fool for a customer I had robbed a store. Thanks to that ***, I got a two star wanted level and I gotta book to get him to some other place. Paramedic missions are really easy in VCS and I make more money overall. I usually suck at these missions in any GTA game but I got up to level 11 before calling it quits and my cash flow went from $2100+ to $8700+ when I was done.

Good luck with FF2. I wanted to beat it so badly and its a good game as far as story goes. I just hated the lvling up system. The further I got into it, the more tedious I found it. However, if you're determined to beat all the FF's, I'm sure nothing will stop you. FF12 is the shit, btw. One of the most fun, if not THE MOST fun of the FF's in terms of gameplay and intensity.

On a side note, playing LoZ:TP and FFVIII. This is my third run-through of FFVIII so I figure I deserve to finally use the strategy guide and try to get all of the cards for Triple Triad. So far, so good.

Finished Portrait of Ruin last night around 2 o' clock.

That was a really good game. I never felt lost(a feeling I already got while playing DoS today), the level design is still top-notch, and the challenge was perfect. That Nebula whip owned ass up until I got the True VK. Visually impressive, and of course a great soundtrack. The controls were a bit iffy with the tag-teaming(which I barely used), but you get used. Final boss battle is definately my favorite in the series.

Overall, I think I just enjoyed this one just as much as Aria of Sorrow. I gonna play DoS later this evening, since my fatass brother took the DS to school today :arazz:

I got geist for the gamecube yesterday for ten bucks new. This is one of the best FPS that I've played in a long time in terms of originality. For those who don't know geist is a game where you take on the role of a person that has his spirit separated from his body. During the game you will have to solve puzzles. Find ways to scare and posses people/animals. Defeat other worldly beings and regain your body. I give geist an 8. It would be a perfect ten but the game was short and didn't have lots of people to posses. Other then that it is a great game. With an even better multi-player. If your looking for a refresher FPS I suggest that you give geist a chance.

I was a few hours into the game before I stopped playing it a year ago. I was probably 5-7 hours into the game so that's going to both hurt and help me. The leveling up system is kinda messed up to me but I'll give it a better try soon and see if I can like it. Changing things up every once in a while isn't a terrible thing.

By the way, Final Fantasy V was great. More people should definitely play this. Hopefully SquareEnix remakes this for the DS just like they're doing for Final Fantasy IV. I know that VI gets tons of attention for being one of, if not, the greatest Final Fantasy but I hardly hear much on V.

nah, 30 bucks at the most. so far all you do is run around and fight random shit, and plant seeds to get health items. ive been doin the same 5 hit combo over and over, i dont think you learn any new moves, you can learn new magic tho. some other shit thats pisses me off is that your enemies can hit you right out of your combo while your hitting them, i could understand boss characters and shit like that but when regular baddies start doing that it gets annoying. If this shit was 2 players it would own Hard.

Picked these games up today:

Taito Legends 2
Caslte Shikigami 2

Castle Shikigami 2 is a fun SHMUP where instead of planes or jets, you use anime-style characters to shoot at your enemies. The dialogue that takes place between bosses is laughably bad and the voice actors really lack emotion. But then, I don't play shooters for the stories. I come for the action and Castle Shikigami 2 is loaded with it. Despite all the bullets that are on the screen, most of it is easily avoidable and and I like how all the charactes play differently, giving the game some replay value. I only got up to stage 2-2 on Normal but I did get the highest ranking. This game was easily worth the $7.99

Taito Legends 2, I haven't played yet, but I know it got a release in Japan last year or the year before last. I thought for sure it wouldn't come to the states but I walked into Funcoland after work just looking around and there it was, Taito Legends 2 for $20. 39 games are on this disc. Games include: Darius Gaiden, Puzzle Bobble 2, Qix, three different versions of Space Invaders, and way too much other stuff to list. Bottom line, for $20, I highly recommend this game.

Congrats. I only finished it with... Mighty Typhoon, Queen Meteor, Rainbow Phoenix, Magic Seagull and Wild Goose. Pico's video is insane and probably one of my favorites. I didn't take the time to beat master with EVERY character. I didn't know how to snake well when I played through so I actually raced on every course. BTW, snaking isnt really cheating... it takes alot of skill to do, but I'd consider it a tactic instead. The AX courses were alot more fun though.

Congrats again on winning. I LOVE F-Zero. I think Im gonna go play it.

Snaking doesn't work on everyone though. Only medium-heavy to heavy machines. Queen Meteor for example is a real light machine, and won't snake at all since it ends up turning more wide and gets no speed at all from it. It does however have an A-rated grip, so on a more Max Speed setting it handles a lot better and will have a real small turn radius, making it easier to handle more straight roads and lose very little speed on small turns. This is something I didn't really learn until I practiced with it. Learning how to manage your boost is also a plus.

No AX machine ever existed anywhere near here, so I like many other people were left without that option.

Played master class with the Magic Seagull, it didn't do well on AX cup. I didn't win a single course with 1st place, but I got 1st overall because I knocked out rivals and finished high enough to get a high point total to win.

I actually had to look at videos on youtube to see how to beat certain chapters.

Chapter 5 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ssIR_jJ1yWU)

I watched this to see the best way to beat this chapter. Even after watching it, it still took me a couple hours before I beat it. My time was recorded as 40.1 seconds, which makes no sense considering the time limit is 40 seconds. I'm guessing there's a 1 second gap between the clocks on the screen, and I managed to get in just within that window.

Chapter 8, which I'm on now (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=szr-NH1qVhU)

I'm looking at this video and I'm thinking, "God DAMN". Each time I've played so far, Deathborne has a 3+ second lead after the first lap, and I can't seem to catch up. I'll beat it eventually, but man, at this point I suck.

I wouldn't say it's unlike any game I've played before because to me, it's an old school style game. However, being that 2D hack n' slashers are basically non-existent on consoles these days makes it unique in a way. Not to mention there are a number of other small, but original aspects of the game. I posted some thoughts on the game here (http://forums.shoryuken.com/showpost.php?p=3955280&postcount=50) if you want to read them. If you ask me, the only problem with the game is that it slows from time to time (as VS also pointed out). Although, in comparison to everything great about the game, that issue is trivial at best. I think it definitely lives up to any praise it's getting.

Beat all the chapters in story mode on very hard. Last chapter is the most bullshit one out of all of them. You have to do it perfectly or you either fall off the track or never catch up. Especially the energy strip, if you don't fill your energy bar all the way up when you hit it before the last lap, you'll never catch up then through boosting. Pissed me off real bad.

Now all I have to do is beat master class with the AX cars, and the circle will be complete.

After that, it's back to MvC2. Only 16 more hidden colors to unlock. Yeah. I'm that slow.

Congrats on getting so far and thanks alot for the vids. Maybe finally I can save Jody... I remember I would make it to the end EVERY time, and I'd hit that final ramp as the doors are shutting. SLAM! right into the door. It seems like it shuts before the timer was even up. I got so pissed that I walked away from it for a bit.

For some reason, it seems that Deathborne is faster than the speed of WTF. Every time I race him, he can get about 30 seconds on me. (approximately, I haven't challenged him in so long I don't remember what his ACTUAL time was.) Not only that, but I KILLED him, and the game still says im in second. He shows up later of course, ONE LAP AHEAD of me.

edit: Dunno what you know about the space flying glitch, but it seems pretty cool.

Hey sRK, in your opinion, what is the best guitar controller for Guitar Hero on ps2? i got the game i just need to know which guitar out there is the very best one. thanks

Hey Dios, I personally prefer Red Octane's standard wired control. It's absolutely PERFECT for Guitar Hero 1 and 2. I beat the entire game on Expert, with 5 stars for each song using the red wired sg control. Its the perfect size for hands, its tough and responsive. Almost EVERY wireless out there is crap. I've heard good things about the first party one, but I honestly don't think its worth the extra money. I have NOTHING but good things to say about the Red Octane Standard. Soo good.

Currently playing this game called The Red Star (playstation 2).
I bought it only 'cause it was cheap when first released ($20) and the art work looked cool.

Finally gave it a shot this weekend, and surprising found out that the game kicks some serious ass.

It's a combination of genres. Kind of like Neo Contra + Ikaruga.

Just got a PSP value pack "hardly used" from a friend for only 100 bucks. So I went ahead and picked up Mega Man Powered Up, Maverick Hunter X, Gradius Collection, and Tekken DR.

All I know is that I really can't stop playing the Mega Man remakes. They are just so fun. Especially Maverick Hunter X. While it is pretty easy even on hard, the game is still done very well. And even a whole lot better than X8. It's fast, some of the new item placement is a nice change, and the voice acting and "The Day of Sigma" are also nice. Not to mention the remixed music. And even though I'm not really a fan of Vile, and this game seems to make him less than a badass compared to his MMX1 carnation, Vile mode is still hella fun, pretty much because of all of the customizations you can do with the weapons and what-not. It really sucks that this game never really did that well. Capcom remaking X2 would have been the greatest thing ever.

As for Powered Up, it's also too good. Definetly one of the better "original" Mega Man titles. Again, remixed music is just badass, and being able to listen to the original Bombman theme in old school mode is great!

I know that I'm an entire console late but I just finished Super Mario Sunshine yesterday and I was really happy about it. The game was much more fun than I had expected and now I'm just surprised as to why so many people badmouth the game.

Now I'm back to Zelda: Twilight Princess and I've already passed the 40 hour mark on this game. Only a couple of dungeons to go before I can say that I'm done with this game.

Super Mario sunshine was AWESOME. The first day I got it I played for 6 hours straight. I killed Bowser and Bowser Jr. by the end of the second day I had it because it was so much fun. I will NEVER forget the roller coaster/ missile battle with Mech Bowser. The convoluted storyline with Bowser bumping Peach to have Baby Bowser. I never got all 120 of the shines, but I might one day, when I'm really really bored.

Super Mario sunshine was AWESOME.

Yes. I agree entirely. Although originally, I expected it to be more like Super Mario 64: The Sequel, and was initially dissappointed that it wasn't, I found it to be quite enjoyable overall.

If you have a Cube, and scoffed at the game the first time around, find it for $10 somewhere used and give it a shot.

Same here. La Pucelle is on my "to get" list. I've been wanting to play some of the strategy RPGs on the PS2. The PS2 is like the SNES with RPGs. Just has a freaking ton of them. I need to pick up the Atelier Iris games, too. They are pretty cheap used now, though I hear AI 3 isn't too hot.

---------------

Currently on Guitar Hero II on Easy mode. Game is a lot of fun but I think there are too many hard rock songs, but that's my only real complaint. "Message In a Bottle" is my fav song to play.

Taiko: Drum Master is sooooo much fun. I'm a bit bummed that the original artists don't sing the songs of the licensed tracks, but the music still sounds great. "William Tell Overture" and "Ridge Racer" are my two fav songs to play, though the rest of the music is tight to drum to. I wish there were more songs but the 29+ they have is good. I'd love for Namco to gring more of the series over to the states.

Started replaying Legend of Legaia for the Playstation. Man I love that game, wish they'd make a sequel that doesn't sound like poo.

BTW, I recently found out the official ages of the characters in that game...LOL. Noa is 12. A FUCKING TWELVE YEAR OLD is whomping ass on all these big giant monsters...and the funniest part about it is she's like the heavy hitter for like 50% of the game.

It's for LoD. I don't have a link because a friend sent it to me, so I've uploaded it here. (http://www.megaupload.com/?d=HUU92QL6)

I actually got to Bison on normal difficulty, only took 85 matches, apparently the only way to beat the cyborg AI is ABZ.
