I'm also playing metroid prime3 and warhawk both great games metroid i would say it's a high8 cuz it's got insane graphics and the same old gampeplay as the other 2 on gamecube but warhawk is the shit best game i played this year to me it's almost a perfect 10 but no single player is kind of a copout.

make sure you are ALWAYS holding the block button. You are also invincible for only the first half of your roll. And don't run during boss fights, use roll jumps (roll->jump->roll->jump)

Played Halo 3 online for about an hour tonight. Not the greatest game in the world. I obviously haven't given it a chance yet, but so far Halo 2 is much better. The whole new setup of buttons is completely jacked. I don't understand how dual wielding works in this one. Plus Its really tough to see if you're over a weapon, since everything is gray. In Halo 2, it would show you hold "Y" to dual wield and the Y was the same color of the control. Now its the right bumper and it just blends in with the background.

Also, the armor bar seems weird in this game. It also seems like people die alot quicker. And I heard theres no clan option for the multiplayer.

Another gripe, is the setup screen. Its just not normal, I think they tried to be all off the wall cuz they're Halo. The matchmaking is different and confusing.

So far not too great. Gonna give it another try tomorrow, hopefully it gets better.

I just beat the crash site level (the difficulty on this level is totally insane) and killed Archer (if you can kill him in one shot you unlock something in the multiplayer)

My first time back to Pharcom has those annoying GI's. Other than that I'm loving the action in this level as always - blackops gabe FTW!

There's a tough boss fight coming up...I hope I'm ready!

DMC3 leader said that and I quote"Air Hike is too stylish for someone like Vergil."

If you're having a harder time with Vergil than Dante it's because the equivalent of Dante to Vergil is mastery of Royal Guard for Dante. Yes. That's how hard it is to master Vergil. And lack of air hike is a pain. Damn you Capcom! Why? Why is it that when you do something right you have to do something WRONG?

Currently playing GGXX:AC, VF4:Evo, KOF: Reg.A. I plan to get back into DMC3 self as a warmup for DMC4. And might get back into Shinobi(PS2). How I like techno. But damn Hiruko on max is near impossible for me! I liked Shinobi so much that my timer on gameplay stopped at 99:99:99 and I still couldn't beat Hiruko on max. Damn midget bastard... I should be playing Civ IV: Beyond the Sword but I've been getting a string of errors with it. Each installment of Civ IV has been so much fun, but each time the programming seems to get lazier and lazier, and the problems I'm getting seem to be all but unsupported.... I shouldn't have to restructure my computer's XML settings just to play.

On the way to university I've been playing Shining Force on my GB Micro - that game brings back such memories of weeks wasted as a child.

Funny you should mention that, I too just went back to part 1 last week after playing the shit out of 3. Not too many tricks, but Ebony and Ivory are damn powerful in part 1 when compared to 3. Half the bosses can be beat just by Devil Triggerring and shooting.

The way I destroyed part 1 was by whoring the flying electricity move and not buying any moves except that and Stinger. I tried to increase my health and Devil Trigger as much as I could. Even the end fight is easy, just buy 4 Devil Stars to launch the dragon move....GGPO. Second form one Devil Trigger = half life gone.

I was somewhere between the levels of 26 and 30 (you can grind in Lhusu minds untill like 26 till it takes awhile to get a level)

Have Haste.
Have Berserk.
and the best equipment at that point in the game (Gold Armour for tanks I think? As for weapons I think it's the Ancient Sword or Zwill Blade.)

Any who set Vaan's gambit to heal Blind and Sleep (blinda/eye drops and alarm clock, respectivly)

cast berserk, haste, protect on Ashe and Basch
enter battle, and just start attacking, if Death Wall activates Banish (X-Zone?) then switch out ALL party members. Cause no one cares about Penelo or Balthier, one someone gets X-Zoned, re-switch your party and keep going at it, heal and recast shit when needed.

I haven't done it in awhile so a lot of this is only iirc. But, it sounds about right.

Also, when it comes to equipment/levels/spells/whatever don't EVER trust the guide made for the game. That guide BLOWS. They're like "Be level 45+ by he time you get to Vayne Solidor"
Uh...I'm like level 62 and just getting to Archades FUCK YOU.
They said you MIGHT have the chance to get haste by the time you have your first encounter with Cid...wtf? That guide was fucking retarded.

I also borrowed Resident Evil 4 from the same friend. I played it for about a half hour or so back when it first came out on the GC, but I never owned a GameCube, never got around to buying the ps2 version, and thus I never got around to playing what everyone says is an awesome game. I think the fastest method (of preparation) is to have everybody learn the Aero license (and of course buy Aero). Cast reflect on all 6 characters and put your weakest 3 on the front line. Have a gambit on all characters to cast Aero on any ally with Reflect, and of course turn the gambits on when you're fighting the boss only.

When the wall uses Telega or whatever, switch in your more powerful party and keep pounding him with Aero. Each cast will do about triple the damage, IIRC.

I myself use Gambits a lot. Makes me feel more relaxed and less annoyed that I have to pick repetitive commands.

I normally switch most of them off for boss battles as I normally need a direct hand in those though. And certain hunts/regular enemies.

Playing Warriors Orochi for 360. Its pretty tight, definitely one of the best Dynasty Warriors/SW games. Beat the campaign of Wu, gonna start Shu now.


Ginchiyo is hella good in that game. The tag out system is definitely interesting, the combo possibilities are way greater than any other warriors game, they also removed the jump stomp infinites from SW2 and SW2 empires, so Oichi is nowhere near as good anymore. Kinda odd that she isn't a speed character since jump cancelling was her specialty from DW2.

Group creation and character upgrading works pretty much the exact same as in original SNES Ogre Battle, with a few exceptions. Soldiers must be upgraded in battle, and do so by earning soldier exp for the unit leader. You get this by winning battles and by applying the following formula:

Gained soldier exp. = surviving soldiers X 2

Also, unlike original Ogre Battle, upgrading is based on stats now, not level. For example, to upgrade to a Knight, a Fighter needs 40-100 alignment, 72 strength and 67 Vitality.

Like the original, certain classes are only available when you have specific items, like the Lich class, and the Dragoon class.

As far as I can remember, the only good way to get more money is to complete missions. Like the original, money is lacking at the start, but by the end you'll probably end up with so much you don't know what you want to do with it (aside from training a lot).

I got Donkey Kong Country 2 for GBA on ebay (£4.41) and I'm pretty disappointed. It seems a bit like Donkey Kong Land or DKC GBC - like those, it's not a straight port. I understand the sprite resolutions need to be redone, but now everything seems way too small.. maybe it'll grow on me.

Maybe it's the Micro's resolution...... I don't know.

I have never played on Ultra-Violence in Doom. Ever. I was always chicken. But I did play Doom 64 on the hardest setting, twice. I used cheats on it before, and I got bored with the game. Playing it without cheats though was a lot more fun.

well the only thing i can say is that it is great true but to me it was a bit on the short side. But then again I did my second run of SO3 and it took me about 158 to complete everything including the hidden dungeons and bosses. Not to mention playing suikoden 3 a long time ago and taking forever with that one as well.

Okay, fuck Warriors Orochi. I'm sure that whoever play-tested it was in no way shape or form paying attention. Mainly pissed because for some reason, Zhen Ji (who was my main throughout the Dynasty Warriors series) is totally screwed up. Despite being a speed character, she can't actually jump cancel most of her attacks. Also, all of a sudden, her 5C move now doesn't hit directly in front of her, but usually to her right, or sometimes behind her and to her right. Great, way to mess up her best charge move. She isn't the only character with a messed up launcher. Zhang Liao's launcher is practically right on top of himself, so unless you're touching an enemy, he won't be hit!

So other random points:
-Zhu Rong's 6C no longer has it's unblockable feature from DW5 (due to hitting so far ahead of her that it would usually hit guys in the back).
-It appears that Oichi's 5C is unblockable, she's still hella good (taking back what I had said earlier).
-enemies on hard do assloads of damage, I've had a lvl. 40 character killed by a generic officer in one combo.
-First hit of Ginchiyo's 5C also looks unblockable (or breaks guard), second hit is blockable

But yeah, I'm dropping this game, nuts to Koei.

Yeah I'm playing the fuck outta this game too. I just unlocked Da Ji and Lu Bu. The game on hard is still impossible, and I have Hanzo Hattori and Guan Ping at level 99, and Zhao Yun at level 87. One hit from Lu Bu and its game over.

1 - nope. only one spear user in the game.
2 - gamefaqs
3 - yes, save at the last save point and then go back to the world map. doesn't take too long, maybe like 5-10 minutes depending on battles. it unlocks the seraphic gate, where you get all the ultimate items and get all the story characters back into your party (not the ones you released though)

My crack is back! Lumines Plus on PS2. I'm gonna set new high scores and unlock more skins/music.

Got some SFA3 Upper on this evening. Ranked 4th in Survival mode with Guy. I still occupy the top 7 spots. I got 1st with Chun a good while ago. I'm thinking of making Ryu, Guy and Chun my main 3 chars for SFA3U.

I needed an RF switch to hook up my SNES to my 13" TV in my bed room. So I tried using my N64 RF switch and presto! SNES is back in action! Started a new game of Super Mario World. Gonna get all 96 level exits. I'm already on World 2. Man, I freaking HATE Ghost House stages. Hated them as a kid and I still hate 'em now. I just unlocked the Top Secret Area. Love that spot. Def one of the best secrets in the game. Power-ups/1ups with no hassle. :lovin: Man, I've always loved the music that plays on the map of Vanilla Dome.

A COUPLE OF COMPLAINTS (that do not hinder the game itself, just nitpicking):

- Sound effects are kinda toned down. Gafgarion's Night blade (now called Shadowblade) sounds weird and not as cool
- The translation itself is vastly different, everyone speaks like old english. Kinda have to get used to it.
- "Corpse Brigade" instead of "Death Corps". Death Corps sounds more intimidating :(
- Graphics are a little fuzzy
- Ramza's voice actor kinda doesnt fit him from what I've heard. Someone said he sounded like Phil LaMarr (Vamp lol). I don't know.
- Algus = "Argath". hm.

finally finished Devil May Cry hard mode. For whatever reason, Nightmare 2, 3, and Mundus gave me no real trouble at all. I killed all of them with no yellow orbs. I did however die when I had to fight 3 Nobodies. :( For mundus I used an Untouchable, because I hate that bastard. I'm skipping Dante Must Die! because now its time I moved on to DMC3.

DMC3: Up to some flying worm boss. That damned Cerberus was a pain in the ass.I took off probably 1/3 of his life when I used my Royal Guard against him. (yes I'm starting off with RG) RG seems to be best against bosses. This game has such a different tone from the first DMC.

X6 is one of those games that you KNOW will be good the second time around, but it left such a bad impression the first play through you don't want to (potentially) put yourself through it again.

Devil May Cry 3: Level 9 I think. The boss is a vampire/succubus lady.

Ninja Gaiden Sigma: I tried very hard mode, but dammit I can not reach the first save point! The missions and survival modes are all owning me hard too.

If you know all three of these games, they are all the same basic genre, but the controls are drastically different. Switching between all three of them in one day really fucked me up some times, lol. EG. Rolling in Ninja Gaiden is done with L1+direction, in GoW its right thumbstick, and in DMC3 its R1+direction+jump.

Custom Robo for the GameCube, baby. I've been wanting to get this game for a while and when I saw a copy for $6.99 at a store called CD Connection, I couldn't pass it up. Game is a lot of fun. Nothing deep, really, but I love firing off bombs and missles to own fools and the differet parts you get to customize your robo are really cool. Games has so hot chicks, too. Though, I do think Linda is dressed like a prostitute, she's still fine. Marcia obviously has the hots for my in-game persona. I thought he'd go for Linda, but I guess not.

Super Mario World. I'm at the ghost ship right outside World 7. I died way too many times in Castle 6. Most of my deaths weren't even at the hands of those huge spikes.

Bleach fans, how is Bleach: The Blade of Fate on DS? Since it's made by Treasure, I've got high hopes.

Than after that, I'm gonna take her out with my 2nd team of Alicia, Silmeria, Rufus, & Lezard. Only thing is I want Brahms to get in on the action with his immense HP+Toughness. I don't think it does. It might give you an option though, like Devil May Cry does, if you DO die alot, but its supposed to let you choose. It's not supposed to be a FORCED option.

But yeah, I just use that combo all the time, invest in Poseidon's Rage and use that right analog stick for dodging.

Poseidon's Rage-Good for groups [mash that O button!]
Medusa's Head-Good for Minotaurs and other big monsters that take awhile to kill
Zeus' Lightning-Useless [in my opinion] except for ranged enemies that you cannot reach
Hades' Army-Hella useful but costs a shitload to upgrade. But you reap the benefits when you do. :tup: x10

Weapons: Stick with the Blades.

Dunno if I'm forgetting anything useful. The last time I played was when GoW II came out. :wasted:

Edit: Oh yeah, if your in a tight spot, grab an enemy and proceed to rip them apart or 'swing' them at other enemies. I think your invincible during those animations. It'll [obviously] come in handy if you play on God Mode.

Hmmmm..... apparently it's tougher to kill the Ethereal Queen without Brahms than I thought. She does this attack that does hits everybody for like..... 25000 hit points of damage and the only guy I have with the HP big enough to withstand a hit that big is Brahms. Looks like I'll have to drop Arngrim :sad:

Finally Beat Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow, after hearing all the pro-CV posts here.

Also, was Julius mode made to show how strong Julius is/was or just another unlockable mode?

He has 4 sub weapons, his dodge/dash is crazy, his movement speed is a lot better than Soma (pre-panther soul), max health, magic and, all bosses are going down waaay too quick.

I also have SOTN to go through. CV is too good.

Purchased Luminous Arc for the DS. I got a used copy because Gamestop tried to pull the same old "New but opened and on display" bullshit. When he went for the opened case I was like no... Played a bit of Fatal Fury Battle Archives. Wow the original FF sure is basic. You can only play as three characters and your button commands are punch, kick, and throw. I got scrubbed by some old dude who pulled a Hulk and busted out of his karate gi. Even if the gameplay on some of these games is average, it is nice to see how the series started out. I hear Fatal Fury Special is the reason to own this collection.

Custom Robo. I got the D-Class license. I'll probably have to take higher class tests later in the game. Got a few more parts too. Love this freaking game.

Naruto: Ultimate Ninja. Tried out Scenario mode with Naruto. Kakashi owned me for free. I need more training.

Burnout: Revenge. Checking traffic is soooo much fun. :bgrin:

Got to level 18 in Call of Duty 4, I'm freaking in love with this game. Not to be an instigator of flame wars, but man, it really DOES put Halo 3 to shame. I find it hard to go back to Halo 3 and find it half as much fun, especially since I've grown tired of the maps in that game. Anyways, it's going to be a painful month, since there are way too many good games coming out at once, which include stuff like Assassin's Creed, Mass Effect, Uncharted and what not.

Naruto: Ultimate Ninja (I refuse to call it by its original Japanese name because I think "Naruitamte" just sounds so gay). I've gotten a grasp on how this game works. It's like they mixed in some Power Stone elements with all the running around and items you can grab. All the Secret Jutsus are similar to the Dragon Rushes in DBZ: Budokai 3 but that's alright because I really enjoyed that game. Despite the fact that I've never liked Sasuke, he's a fun character to play as. Gotta love that Chidori. I even used 1000 Years of Death to KO Kakashi, which was quite satisfying. :bgrin: Of course my boy Naruto is also a lot of fun to use. One of his moves is a fart. :bgrin: Lee rocks of course. Inner Gate power FTW.

Burnout: Revenge. The new Crash mode is taking some getting used to. I keep getting slow starts. Somehow I managed to get a gold medal on my 2nd Crash course in Championship mode even though I'd only hit 1/3 of the cars I could damaged. I'm glad they didn't take out Road Rage mode. Stuff was boss in Takedown.

Been playing through all the previous Ratchet and Clank games before i buy Future Tools of Destruction.
For some reason i didn't enjoy Going Commando as much as the other games. Maybe its because i hated having to fight those little furry blue creatures during the latter part of the game or the snow level with all those snow sasquatch creatures.
