Just got Advance Wars: Days of Ruin for the DS.

The entire tone is different, seems less childish and has an interesting plot *so far*. Wifi online play should be awesome, haven't tried it yet.

Just a few more days til Devil May Cry 4...playing DMC3 to prepare, even though I'll be using a 360 controller. Man, those Fallen angels still kick my ass, even with A&R assist type.

I was finally able to get my hands on a Wii and I'm loving it so far. I wound up getting Rayman Raving Rabbids for it and I've been laughing my ass of the whole time. I also picked up Wii Play and I got Super Mario Bros, Bonk's Adventure and Zelda a Link to the past on the VC.

Also between rounds of beating the ever loving shit out of Rabbids I've been playing Zelda the Wind Waker for the first time. I don't get why everyone was saying "This game sucks! More like Cellda lol". The game has been really good so far. Right now I am at the dungeon where you need that little leaf kid to help you. Can't wait to see what happens next.

I donno.. I jus dont enjoy it. I liked Ico a lot but halfway thru and it feels to me jus like get on top of a dood and stab him...

plus I hate the world map!!! I get lost when all I wanna do is fight... I went to gamefaqs to use the map but even now knowing where everybody was wasnt enough to keep me interested.

it's weird coz ppl say the same thing about No More Heroes, that the world map is ass but I loved NMH and didnt even have any problems with the map at all... I actually enjoyed it.

but I never played GTA so I dont have anything to compare it to

Sasmasta
02-02-2008, 11:12 PM
I'd give Vagrant Story another play through if I still had it. Game had an amazing sound track. I probably would better understand how to use the battle system too. When I first played it, I was hitting high then it diminished down to 0-1 hits per combo link. Some battles were very time consuming. I take it I was doing something wrong [which is why I would like to play it again].

I did finish it though.

I'm playing Mario Galaxy between games... shyt is mad fun!! I cant believe I let this sit in my backlog for so long... the level design is incredible, the very thing that was lacking in New Super Mario.

I got my DS with me rite now, playing Apollo Justice during my breaks at work.

----------------------------------------------------

Finally got a chance to play portrait of ruin.
it's alright so far.
seems really easy though.
In the desert portrait and I'm like level 25. So I'm blazing through everything except bosses.

Beat DMC4 about 2 days ago
Wasn't too impressed with it.
Got really boring/repetitive for me at an alarming rate. Visually it looked really good. But that was about it. Everything else was just kind of "meh" to me.

Then again I've never been a fan of the DMC series in the first place so I wasn't expecting much from it.

--------------------------------------------------------

Beat DQ-Swords like 2 days after it came out.
It's a fun game. Just don't expect much story wise because it's ass.
All the post-game side quests and stuff equal more than the actual story. It's kinda sad.
Pretty unique game...but nothing I'd whole heartedly recommend.

Strangely enough, I've been playing King of Fighters 2002, Suikoden 2, and some other old school games on my PSP (including Mega Man 2 and 3).
Maybe the problem is I have too many good games; I can't make up my mind some days, but in all honesty, the industry isn't helping alot.
I think one of the only reasons Im playing ELEVEN YEAR OLD GAMES (aside from how good some of them are) is because alot of the new releases these days are sequels, licensed, licensed sequal, ports, remakes, or just plain shit.
I need new blood, and the fact of the matter is, the new games I'm excited for are sequels or remakes.

I hope I got to this thread soon enough to warn you, don't buy this version.

Everything about it is wrong. I don't know how they managed to mess this up - it looks fine on the Internet, but I just couldn't get into it. Sprite sizes seem wrong, the controls and collision detection feel unreliable, the sound and visuals are underwhelming and not as crisp as we've come to expect from Rare.

Maybe it's my fault for playing on a Game Boy Micro, I don't know, but it seemed like a shadow of its former self. It feels like the game has been reconstructed from the ground up, not ported, losing its feel in the process.

Ico is by no means a long game. You can beat it in 1 day, easily. It's all puzzles so it can get frustrating at times but nothing too horrible that you'll be pulling your hair out. yeah.

my friend works at a privately owned video game store and they never check their inventory so when ever he wants something or a friend wants something he just takes it.

the owner is obviously too trusting. xD

it's sweet to have connections.

I haven't actually started, but in Far East RPG Maker community it's getting popular, so I got it. It's a freeware because it's made with RPGMaker 2003, but it's actually an adventure game, as in no dialogues and hella exploring. The premise of it is that you are exploring this one girl's dream and trying to figure out what happened to her, kind of like Silent Hill 4.

I think I'm the only guy who liked PoR more than SOTN. Hell, I enjoyed AoS more than SOTN. Dawn of Sorrow really disappointed me though. I never really liked the Pokemon collecting souls bullshit, and the combat felt slower than Aria of Sorrow. Oh, and don't even get me started on the gimmicky uselessness of the fucking touch screen. Having a map on the bottom is really the best way to go. Plus, the final D&D boss fight is the coolest CV boss EVER. And I got the Vampire Killer! God I love that game.

I'm playing The Club right now. Really addictive game right there. I thought this game was going to be horrible, but its very well-designed. From the character variety, to the placements of enemies/targets to keep a combo going the entire round, to even some decent multiplayer. Its a great game if you into the arcade-style "Just one more" gaming; repeating levels over and over trying to get a better score.

Oh, and Turok sucks donkey dick.

So, I just finished Killzone. I was really feeling the game, but after awhile, it just became tedious and unnecessarily frustrating. And the last level is a joke. I'd give it a 6/10. Halo-killer this was not.

Here's to hoping that Killzone 2 lives up to all of it's expectations.

i'm not a big fan of srpg's, but jeanne d'arc is pretty awesome.

unfortunately, your cast is limited to what characters you get through the storyline, but you can customize them anyway you see fit.

$35 is pretty steep for a psp game, imo.

For my DS I'm playing Professor Layton and the Curious Village. Some of the puzzles in this game are intense. I had to give up on one puzzle where you had to slide a bunch of puzzle tiles to form a picture. I used to know the trick to solving those things but right now I have no idea what to do. Overall I'm really loving this game and with some dowloadable puzzles available, I'll keep coming back to this game.

On my Wii I'm switching back and forth between Mario Galaxy and Zack and Wiki. I've got a long way to go in both and with Brawl on the way, I won't be getting much further now. I think I have about 20 stars in Mario and in Zack and Wiki I must've found at least 4 pieces of Barbaros.

I finally opened my copy of DiRT for the 360 and I am truly impressed, this game is the shit if you like rally racing. It reminds me very much of RalliSport 2 with the multiple event types, and the way the career mode is laid out, and it's fairly easy to get into. Not to mention the visuals are awesome. This game will be consuming much of my gaming time for a long while.

Too bad Sega Rally Revo is so boring, but at least DiRT is awesome.

If you're having THAT much trouble, go through the level until before the boss then exit the level entirely and do it again until you level up adequetly to make it difficult no more. The thing about OS is that while it's an action RPG, there's more RPG to it than action truthfully because levels DO make a big difference. I'd call it an RPG disguised as an aciton game really.

Playing Lost Odyssey - Great game with a classic Final Fantasy feel to it. Sometimes theres too many dreams to read through when you just feel like playing or exploring. But the dreams are intense.

Also playing Call of Duty 4 online sometimes - That game can seriously piss you off. Between the obnoxious little kids to people that just yell on the mic for no reason, that combined with all the M16 whores out there, I end up signing off after about 30 minutes.

Playing Smash Bros. Brawl - Still need to unlock Wolf, ROB, Ganondorf, and Toon Link. Game is alot of fun. Online is ok, alot of lag but not bad. I prefer playing with a group of friends and hearing everyone messing with each other.

I have so many games that I either haven't beaten or just haven't even opened. And new shit is always coming out. It feels like a job sometimes lol.

Some of these puzzles in Professor Layton are kicking my ass. I spent a good weekend trying to figure out one puzzle where you had to slide some blocks around to form a picture correct. Eventually I gave up on that for a few weeks until I decided that I had to finish it today. Somehow I managed to get it right in just a couple of minutes. Now I've got a difficult message decoding puzzle. The hints aren't doing any good for me so this puzzle might be a while.

Also I try to get a match in on Brawl but it never works or lags to the point that playing is pointless. Great job Nintendo.

Okay, I'm fucking pissed at NG Black right now. The controls can be so fucking unresponsive. I almost took out Alma TWICE, only for it not do Flying Swallow repeatedly, allowing her to get a kill while I stood there in the air doing a normal jump slash. TWICE.

Add to that the "fun" of trying to do continuous wall jumps in certain areas where you overshoot it and have to go back a significant way just because it would do what you wanted it to...yeah. I know the games are different, but DMC really is a better game IMO.

You can play SMT: Digital Devil Saga (1 & 2) if you like SMT/Atlus games and if you haven't already. I'm currently playing part 1 and I fucking love it. In terms with fighting games, well remember that whole "Should the Arcades come back thread?" and someone suggested that I should just get some friends and start LAN to make my own local scene instead of complaining? Well I actually took their advice. Every week (or at times more) people come to my house to play Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Guilty Gear XX ^ Core, King of Fighters XI, Street Fighter III: Third Strike, and what not. It's really fun.

I'm playing Ninja Gaiden Black for the first time ever. Why is it that the fucking Black Spider ninja are harder than anything else in the whole damn game thus far? I'm up to chapter 6 and they kick the shit outta anything I've faced, enemy, mini-boss and boss alike.

Since it's your first run I'm not surprised Black Spider Ninja give you a hard ass time. Just Wind Run and Flying Swallow Spam.

They really become extremely easy though. Just wait until you run into Vigoorian Berserkers.

I've been stuck on CoD4 for a few weeks. I'm a level 30, and I don't feel like I'm getting much better. I'll have a great game every now and then, but I'll have an awful game for every one of those. I usually come out of a game with 9-12 kills and about as many deaths. My record is 26 kills, but it was in a ground war domination match in which my team got slaughtered.

brawl and kirby air ride.

I borrowed air ride from my little brother, I dont know whether to kind of enjoy it or flat out hate it.

Did you borrow Air Ride just to play it because Dragoon is Brawl? What's so bad about it? (I don't think I've ever played any Kirby games other than the very first ones for NES and Gameboy [original].)

Anyway, the only thing I've been playing for the past month is Brawl.

I think I may finally try to play some of my other Wii games as well or go back to trying to finish Kingdom Hearts 2 (still). Probably the latter given that tracking with the Wii in my room isn't really optimal right now and Metriod Prime spooks me enough without me having to flail about as some damned giant monster devours me should the cursor disappear.

Hunh. I might just start Kingdom Hearts II again tonight now that I'm thinking about it....

What got me yet was the next battle in which I'm supposed to save this girl, when my ramza got stopped before I got a turn and they capped her. Fukken geomacy. I'll give it another try this weekend when I got time to kill.

Dark Kight is powerful yeah, my buddy got it and everything, but with dumb team, mastering those mage classes are gonna be a pain in the ass. So I'm tryin to just dragoon-ninja my ass through the game.

On Ch. 8 of FF XII: RW. I like the game, I've been putting off playing it lately though.

Also started Lost Odyssey. I'm still near the beginning (Just passed the Ipsilon (sp?) Mountains), but its a great game. I'm preferring the US voices though, particularly because of Jensen. Some of the voices are cheesy, but Jensen's jokes come off funnier in english.

Also still playing some Brawl, Phoenix Wright T&T and FF Crisis Core... messing around with Pinball Hall of Fame: Williams Collection (good game! $20 at Target or FYE if you can find it) and Endless Ocean every once in a while... Mainly focusing on FFXII:RW though.

Even though he is a joke, it was still a fun fight in my opinion. Though i did find it easier to hit him out of the Sin harvest, was there a way to hit him to cancel out Sin harvest in the original KH?Yes, just stay near the center at all times and be ready to do that throwing attack (I can't remember the name for sure, I think maybe Strike Raid?). You can also abuse the invulnerability frames on that attack to just stand in his little fire pillar things and hit him.

But what really makes him a joke in KH2 is how vulnerable to comboing he is. With the right skills set up, you can do combos that knock a whole life meter off of him each time you open him up. Plus with that aerial recovery ability you can be hit by his launcher, recover, and hit him out of his attempted follow-up, opening him up to an air combo.

yeah basically if you maxed out all of the Drive forms, that was automatic victory for you against Sephiroth. Though i can only figure they made him easy since you needed to defeat him to gain 100 percent completion.

Best fight for me in that game was the Hades Cup round where you were fighting Yuffie,Tifa,Cloud, and Squall at the same time. Tense round but overall fun.

So i couldn't find my original playstation 1 memory card so i bought another one and i'll probably play through Metal Gear Solid 1 and then move on and play through the other ones. Though i might start timeline wise with Metal Gear Solid 3 and move from there.

Aerith must've felt absolutely terrible during FFVII.

Not that bad, as it was five years since she last saw him. Zack and Cloud spent four years being experimented on and another year on the road to Midgar. She had probably got over her loss by that time.

Plus in the FFVII novels that take place in between the game and AC, she seems really nonchalant when she sees Zack again. She even tells him that she loves Cloud...which he's jokingly upset about but doesn't really mind as he understood the circumstances.

I was able to play Condemned 2: Bloodshot and Dark Sector this week. Both games seemed very short.

Condemned 2 was pretty cool at first. They really got the atmosphere down. Playing at night, alone, was very scary yet satisfying. However, toward the end of the game, it became just another shooter. The fighting system was well done though.

Online was alright. The highlight would definitely be the mode, Crime Scene. It's a lot like the spies vs mercenaries from Splinter Cell. The cops need to scan some boxes while the bums/killers guard them. There are plenty of dark places for the bums to hide for an ambush, making matches quite thrilling if done right. Definitely check this game out if you liked the first, but expect less horror and more action. I'd say it's a rental for everyone else.

- - -

Dark Sector...garbage. The story is full of holes and the levels all start to look the same after a while. Guns aren't really needed as the Glaive alone will work for any enemy/situation. People have complained about the weapons picked up from enemies having a self-destruct. I can see why they did it though. It encourages players to use their own weapons or more specifically, the Glaive. The game boils down to taking cover until you kill everyone, then going to the next area and repeating.

The AI in this game is so hilariously bad. I've seen an enemy take cover against a pillar that was on fire, only to die a slow death. Then another one spawned and did the same thing. By the time I got to the pillar, there were 6 charred bodies piled up.

The online is very limited and is plagued by outdated issues, such as spawn camping and unbalanced powers.

I did like using the powers and glaive though, especially with the sixaxis control. I just wish they had given you more levels after you gained them all or obtained them all earlier, to be able to use them more. This same problems happens with the weapons you purchase. When starting a new game, after you beat it once, your weapons don't carry over. WTF were they thinking!? Anyway, avoid this one unless you're really bored or someone happens to let you borrow it.

Sorry for already having a long post but I just have one last thing on my mind. What do you guys think about The Club. I'm thinking of checking that one out. :wonder:

Yeah I just beat Ninja Gaiden DS. The touch controls are amazing as well as the graphics. Too bad that the games pacing and design were pure shit (IMO). Oh yeah and I beat it in under 4 hours. :|

This...is quite accurate. The game is EXTREMELY easy on the default difficulty, and The healing Ninpo is broken as hell in boss battles. Izuna drop is also essentially a OHKO on just about any enemy that can be hit by it and they drop more stuff when hit by it. Flying Swallow is just as beast as it ever was, and the bow (+ upgraded bow) are beast as well.

Playing FFXII AGAIN. Why, I don't know. It seems that I want to actually do all the hunts and fight all of the espers/Omega. I also want to play a more interesting playthrough than my first playthrough a year ago (in which everyone was a clone trooper with the same gear). Also playing Gears of War and FFIX.

choice between FF9 and xenogears. or crisis core.

i've played FF9 and got to disc 4 and the last dungeon but never beat it. played xenogears but only for like 20-30 minutes. and obv i've never played CC but i've been wanting to for a while.

decisions, decisions.

Yes the specials really were broken (on your benefit). I mean WTF it fully heals me? Even the other ones were just as broken (fire ball does 3 times as much damage?). But at least the final boss was somewhat hard. Then again that was only due to the fact that it seemed the Team Ninja didn't understand that it was impossible to judge Z axis projectiles in a 3D environment.

Just finished Assassin's Creed (pc version, I'd highly recommend the game).

Now only 7 events away from getting my elite license in Burnout Paradise, but all the remaining events are stunt runs and I'm not very fond of them LOL.

I want to get GTA4, but instead of getting the PS3 version I think I'll wait for the inevitable pc version...
