I'm already deep into Final Fantasy X. The game seems pretty good to me. It might actually surpass FF VIII as my fave FF game. I was like :shake: at the whole Tidus-Yuna scene in the Scalania Woods. Truly a classic!

As for group games, my friends and I are currently playing the shit out of World Soccer Winning Eleven 7 (whew!). It's truly a great soccer game that blows any FIFA game out of the water. We have already scheduled a tournament for tonight. My Italy shall be beastin'. :badboy:

WOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Over 1000 posts in this baby! I'd like to thank everyone who posted in this thread, even if it was just a tid bit of what game you were playing. This is by far my most successful thread on any forum. I've always wanted to have a thread that spawned tons of pages and thanks to you all, I've done it. In these past 6 months, the SRK forums have become my favorite forums on the net. You guys rock.

Well the little speach is outta the way so.....

-------------------------------------------------------

Well I'm 12 plus hours into DBZ: Buu's Fury. I can't speak enough of how much the music kicks booty in this game. Million was it you that said you were a big fan of the American DBZ soundtrack? If so, I highly recommend getting Buu's Fury. The combat is repetitive but the game is still fun. It'd be worth a purchase for the music alone. But um, anyway. I have 6 of the 7 Dragon Balls collected and I'm playing as Goten and Trunks. They were flying together and having a convo when they dropped the Dragon Radar. :wow: I was thinking "You IDIOTS!! Now I gotta get the dumb thing fixed!!" Thankfully the radar is fine and it was just a play-in to finding the final Dragon Ball. I can't wait to get to the fight where I get to play as SS3 Goku against Fat Buu. Not only that but Babidi will DIE!!! I was so happy when Buu killed that annoying pest.

I've continued playing Metroid Fusion on my GBAsp. For the most part, I've been enjoying the game, even if the premise is ass-tastic. I just defeated and chased off that security drone after getting my Super Missiles.

The one thing that really bugs me about Fusion's gameplay is the way that the computer will give you a map and a location to get to on it, but then you have to spend 15 minutes looking for some hidden path that isn't marked on the map.

And seriously, any of you Metroid fans out there:
Is Zero Mission different enough from original Metroid to be worth playing?

ReggieHadoken
09-17-2004, 09:53 PM
Well, Remy, I love Metroid games but I haven't played Zero Mission yet. From what I hear there are a few new features in the game but unlike Fusion, it is very light on bosses. The game is around 6 hours long but even though it's basically a remake of the original NES Metroid, I'd still pick it up.

LAst night I was playing Buu's Fury and I ran into what the villagers described as a monster. At first I thought it was Cell but when I saw the being they were so afraid of I was like "OH SNAP!!" It turned out to be Broly and the dude was huge. Using Goten in SS form, I easily mopped the floor with him. I had Goten and Trunks so high in their levels that Broly was child's play. Don't know what Iw as afraid off. Later in the night the worst thing happend to me. I was in the middle of saving my game when THE BATTERIES DIED!!! :wow: So when I turned my game back on, my file was gone. 14+ hours LOST! No worries, though because I'm nearly back to where I was before in far less time.

eh, I don't know about Buu's Fury. It's like the Legacy of Goku-styled DBZ games right? For some reason those dbz games really aren't grabbing my attention...I think it's mostly because it just follows the story, so we know what's going to happen. American dub music is tempting though...I'm probably 1 of the 7 people who actually bought 2 of the CDs! Sadly, when I went back for the others...they were gone, and haven't re-appeared. They're just gone forever  (*I'll just dump the sound right from the shows onto my computer one day....I got the old theme for whenever Vegeta and Nappa usually showed up this way.)

*just now reading your latest post...Broly?!? So this obviously doesn't follow the story that closely then?

-still playing Viewtiful Joe about as much as when I first got the game.
-perhaps I should actually play Zelda:Wind Waker . hahah...I've had that game since the release date, and I haven't gone beyond the first castle area where "Link" is looking for his sword.
-heh, I still haven't gotten far in Prince of Persia either....and I've also had that since around the time it came out.

Part of the reason I'm so behind on those games is Phantasy Star Online. You just cannot escape it's grasp....it's like the pull of a black hole. I'll pro'ly get back to it soon since my best friend and his wife are back at it again with their characters. She's about 89 now with her highest character...so she could finally play Ultimate with us next time.
*edit---I saw Cel Damage(GC) today for 20 bucks at a music/games/movies store. I may pick it up next time....there's no rush, really...NOBODY even goes to that part of the store. I wouldn't be surprised if I saw spiderwebs over in that corner one day.

If Capcom would just put a "Custom Hero" mode for a Viewtiful Joe game though...it would instantly be the greatest videogame of all time. Fact.

^Well, Million, Buu's Fury does follow the Buu Saga storyline VERY closely. As a matter of fact, it's like you're watching the whole Buu Saga all over again but there are some light differences. For example, instead of Bulma collecting the Dragon Balls, Goten and Trunks collect them. I actually had to beat Broly to get one of the DBs and the idiot wouldn't stop yelling "Kakarrot!!!" Moron still hasn't leardn any new words. There's also some dude named Janemba who has put Other World and Hell into total chaos. Now I've heard of Janemba but I've never actually seen the dude. Pikkon went down to Hell to check things out and all I saw was the dude's shadow and in his exact words he said "Ja...nem...ba." If his shadow was any indication, this dude is pretty freaking huge. :wow: Even Gogeta shows up somewhere in the story from what I've read.

Too much Cho Ren Sha (http://www2.tky.3web.ne.jp/~yosshin/my_works/) for my own good. Came within seconds of beating Stage 0 on one credit.

Also, I started playing Metroid: Zero Mission again, and I don't know why.

Continuing with Metroid, I played some more Fusion and Hard Mode Prime. I seriously don't understand what's so much harder about Hard Mode on Prime. It seems exactly the same to me. Fusion just took a turn for the more difficult, as I got up to this spider-thing guarding the reactor core of the space station. It's kicked my ass four times in a row now. Last time, I finally blew his legs off, but then he started spazzing out and I died again. Next time, though, revenge shall be mine. I took down Meta Ridley on my second try, this upstart spiderling shall not defeat me five times.

*edit---I saw Cel Damage(GC) today for 20 bucks at a music/games/movies store. I may pick it up next time....there's no rush, really...NOBODY even goes to that part of the store. I wouldn't be surprised if I saw spiderwebs over in that corner one day. If you buy that, let me know what you think. I still fire it up about once a week and play a round or two with my favorite settings.

I'd suggest using the name "PITA" to unlock everything immediately, though. Once all weapons are unlocked and you can turn off personal weapon boxes, I think that the game is a lot more fun. Also, unlocking everything is just time-consuming, I went through it on my buddy's X-Box version.

Hey, Remy, I feel your pain on that spider boss in Metroid Fusion. I died MANY times trying to kill that thing but I finally succeeding in bringing it's demise. In the end, that spider couldn't screw with me.

In DBZ Buu's Fury I face Janemba. When I first saw him I was like
"WHAT?!" He looked like some fat pink and yellow blob reject villian. I fought him in that form as Vegeta and won pretty easily. And then he changed into something resmbling a demon. He was a bit tougher after that. Neither Goku or Vegeta could beat him. So I had to do the fusion dance to form...GOGETA!!! "I am neither Goku or Vegeta. I am the instrament of your destruction. I am...GOGETA!!!" Man, playing as Gogeta was so tight!!! He had some awesome attacks that did major damage!! Playing as Gogeta was more than controling Gotenks or Mystic Gohan.

Well Gotenks, Piccolo and Gohan have all been absorbed so now the fate of the world lies on Goku and Vegeta. I went in to battle with base form Goku and one energy blast from Mystic Gohan Guu nearly killed me. So I decided to level up both Goku and Vegeta. Looks like I could be in for a serious fight. :wow:

I havent played a traditional rpg in a long time... Star Ocean seems to be getting good reviews. I dont really know if I should get this because I am really picky about the smallest things. Well I beat Buu's Fury. Watching the ending sequence was like watching it the anime version oif the show, except it was a 16-bit version of the show with sprites. Once enough energy was gathered, Goku hurled the Spirit Bomb at Buu and just like in the show, he resisted and started pushing it back!! :wow: A wish was made to resore Goku to full strength and once that was done, I had to tap the A and B buttons rapidly in order to throw it at Buu. My right arm was killing me and it took a few minutes to get it right. Thankfully, I was given unlimited time to tap the buttons. All the time I spent playing games, you'd think tapping to buttons rapidly would be a cakewalk. Now I'm going to get back to HSFII and SFIII: 3S

Because it's worth the hype, imo...copy/pasted from the Fable thread:
Fable---the game is TIGHT. *blahblahblah**(*watched my friend play thru as a purely evil character..)

Later on, it's all about the BEZERK magic. It's beautiful. I was rollin' with laughter when he came up to the first house in a village....they try to close up the door on him...and "ARRRRGGHHH!!!" BEZERK MODE! He powers up like the HULK and busts through that door like Kool-Aid man! Force-push knocks everyone on their ass, and he begins tearing shit up.

Oh yeah, I MUST have this game. Chojin Seal of Approval ™. 9.0
(*Point Deduction = sadly, the framerate slows down considerably in certain situations...it begins to look like you're playing an online game, 56k, with tons of lag....they should've fixed this before shipping the final version. I'd pro'ly take off more points for this if I didn't like the game so much.)

Well I've gotten back into HSFII:AE and SFII:3S. I realized that I'm more of a guy who is into the simpler tactics. I like to sweep fighters when their let their guard down and tak advantage of fighters after their shoot fireballs. About HSFII: AE. When you guys play the vs. mode, do you use ST characters most of the time? I'm curious because my bro-in-law always picks ST fighters.

I played a game of DBZ: SW Z-Battle 1-on-1 before I went to bed last night. I played as LV3 Goku and I ha so much fun with his Istant Transmission. Trunks did his Burning Attack and I used IT to appear behind him to avoid the move and do some combos on him. But that isn't even the most fun I had using Goku's IT. I've gone back to Klonoa: Empire of Dreams for GBA. This game's simple but charming gameplay makes it so fresh to me. Right now I'm on the 4th World. There are 5 worlds and I want to have the game finished by the time I purchase F-Zero GP Legend on Saturday.

As far as SFAC goes, I'm just practicing my moves and combos in HSFII. I plan to really get down with SFII Ryu. I'm using the Official Brady guide and the amount of stuff you can do with SFII Ryu is just nuts.

Dudley is now one of my favorite characters in SFIII:3S. Normally I don't take too well to characters that can't get but Dudley won me over with his accent and killer combos. I never enter a fight without his Rocket Punch Super Art. I love working it in with combos. Only drawback is that you have to be close enough for it to work. I think I actually like Dudley more than Yang now.

I haven't been doing much lately due to school and STILL ongoing illness, but I likes my modded Xbox. Playing lots of Fable, and Otogi 2, with some random Breaker's Revenge and KoF 2000 fights.
I hear Fable is getting dissed pretty hard in some circles so I must say this: If you have high expectations for ANYTHING these days, you are fucking stupid. I go into games these days expecting them to suck hard, and on occasion, I get surprised by rare goodness. Fable is one of those games.

I picked up Capcom vs. SNK 2 for PS2 for $17.99. I wasn't expecting to pick it up but the price tag was irresistable and after really getting into SF over the last few months, I just couldn't play my GC version of CvS2 because of the controls.

GameStop is a bit messed up with their prices. I bought Gradius V for $32.99 when it should have been $29.99. I know, I know some of you are probably thinking "big whupp" but I thought the price would be $29.99 everywhere but I guess they just want to rape us all with prices any chance they get. Speaking of price rapes, I also got raped in dough with F-Zero GP Legend. X-Men Legends > *

Such a kick-ass game. It's kinda like X-Men meets Gauntlet meets Baldur's Gate, that's the best way I can describe it. You get a team of up to 4 X-Men to control, and you can swap out at any time. You set them to how you want them to fight (Aggressive, Normal, Defensive), and you power them up as they level up.

Had my fun with Fable for a couple weeks, and now I've been playing Star Wars: Battlefront for XBox. XBox Live with some buddies is the only way to play this game. The first few moments you spend with Battlefront will almost completely convince you that the game is garbage, but the more you play, the more chaotic it gets. Chaos + friends + online action = fun. By the way, the CIS forces are unstoppable!

I'll pass the time with Gradius V and Battlefront until Mortal Kombat: Deception comes out (October 6th).

Edit: Did Shadow of Rome get some major delays or something? I was hearing of a November 2004 release date for the longest time, but I payed some friends at EB a visit today, and they told me they won't be getting SoR in until February 2005. What's going on here?

Been playing lots of:

SW: Battlefront: Awesome online. Very addictive, and lots of fun. Played it till about 4am because I could not stop. My biggest gripe with it though is the ridiculous amounts of spawn camping, sniping, and the 4-legged tanks on Yavin. Still, it's mad fun.

Burnout 3: I'm sure there's nothing I can say about this game that hasn't been said before. It's just too much fun.

X-Men Legends: Just got it today, and started playing it with a friend. Very cool visual style, and the X-Men's mutant power are incorporated into the gameplay in clever ways.

I've been playing F-Zero GP Legend today. Playing the Bronze cup is a joke because the CPU racers offer no challenge whatsoever. That said, the graphics are very nice and nostalgic and the music is a mix from the SNES and N64 versions of F-Zero. It was great to hear the Mute City and Sand Ocean themes again. The difficulty picks up on Silver Cup races since the track designs are trickier. I died three times on the first Sand Ocean track. The game takes a cue from F-Zero GX and has a story mode as well as 48 Challenges to complete. Good stuff here.

It doesn't seem like too many Viewtiful fans post here, and apparently there is no more search function, so I'll post my VJ update:

Rainbow V Challenge = Currently working on stage 3. Part of the reason it's taking so long..besides the difficulty...I just haven't been playing any games recently. Of course, my game-playing has picked up now since there is no more home-internet access for me.(*at the library now) But yeah...I FINALLY made it past the bus segment with a rainbow v after what seemed like forever. I had to look at the faq on that one, and my guess about it being the yellow box was right. Still, it was tough to hit the box and still make it onto the bus, since Captain Blue only has 1 jump. Surprisingly, there IS time to jump, hit the box, and do another jump to get on the bus!

However, I either didn't have enough VFX or didn't time it right with the ramp...and the bus ended up in the pit....good thing Captain Blue can fly! I flew over the rest of wht way...worried that this screwed up my Rainbow ranking...but there it was: V,V,V! I already was celebrating victory over stage 2 when I still had the helicopters and all of Hulk's hotel to go...but it's really easy to score rainbows on the helicopters, and I had gone thru the hotel with all rainbows before(*practice run to see how it was..I messed up and got an "A" somewhere earlier, and just kept going to try out the rest of the stage.)

Hotel part was a surprisingly easy rainbow V...and on my first rainbow-attempt at Hulk = success! I just stuck to my most recent pattern of high dodge --2 slowzoom punches--dodged Hulk charge, 3 punches while he's dizzy. I knew that if you hit him too much by the wall, then he calls the missiles and sets the room on fire, which extends the length of the fight, and would pro'ly knock my time rank down.

First part of stage 3(Six Machine) = rainbow on first try...
but the 2nd half seems more problematic though...that's where I am now.

-I also started up a Rainbow Challenge journey with Joe...he's currently at Stage 2. Stage 1 is easy to me now, and only took 2 tries with Joe.

*I bet the train level will be a bitch though. (especially the part where I have to jump FAST to catch the train in the first place!)

I was thinking it over for a good while and decided to give Gradius V to my father. He loves Gradius and he just got back from a hard week of work in Florida reparing windshields done by the damage of the constant hurricanes. So I gave it to him as a home coming gift. The happyness on his face was priceless. :pleased:

Your dad plays games too? Heheh awesome, parents that play games is almost rare. Well I can't say that though, my *late* mother was a Tetris and Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine addict. One funny memory about her gaming is I actually watched her beat the first two stages of Final Fight Guy on SNES!!! You should've saw the way she was holding the controller as she was kicking Mad Gear ass. You'dve died laughing.

BTW Where are you from?

Wow, your mother was a gamer, Famicom? Awesome. Moms that play games, now that is pretty rare. As for where I'm from, I'm from Dayton, Ohio. :karate:

I played Rick Wheeler's story in Story mode on F-Zero GP Legend last night. Story mode is about the length of a fighting game (maybe even shorter). Sometimes you have to win a GP race, race through a track segment before time runs out, or other stuff. GP Legend has some nice variety from the standard GP mode. The game is supposed to be based off of the Saturday morning Fox Box anime (which I've never seen) so some of the characters like Samurai Goroh's wife, are completely new to me. It is great to hear the classis Mute City, Silence, and Sand Ocean themes.

EDIT:

Million, you're the most dedicated VJ player I've ever seen. I love VJ for GC but man, the lack of a save at certain points was just cruel, CRUEL, I TELL YOUU!! :wow: And you're right, the Train level is going to be pretty frickin' annoying. I think it took me over an hour to pass that level. And fighting the Magnificent 5 all over again... :wow: OK, who put the Mega Man in my VJ? Dante in VJ for PS2 is nice but I'd rather see Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li or my boy Mega Man instead. Now that would rock.

*the girl on the computer next to me is so damn HOT.*

Anyway, the main challenge of RV in Viewtiful Joe, imo...is Vpoints vs. Time. Defense is really a non-issue since anyone who has beat UVrated is rarely hit anyway, and you're already quite familiar with where enemies and hazards are going to be....plus --UKEMI! (ukemi will save your defense from dropping to an "A" after a hit.ProTip = you can jump or float<Blue< out of Ukemi! I didn't even know this until someone recently mentioned it on Gfaqs.)

*damn...I can see this girl's thong panties down the back of her jeans:sweat: I would kill for one of those cell.phone digital cameras right now... seriously you guys should see this..:wow:

And Gradius V: Is it worth getting? I want a shooter that won't piss me off like Ikagura.

Well from what I've read, even on "very easy" the game is still pretty hard. Then again, Gradius has never been an easy game. (Just play the first one on the NES and you'll see what I mean. :wow:) However, it looks beautiful, sounds fantastic and if you like Gradius, I'd highly recommend it, especial since SHMUPS are so are these days. My father really likes the game.

--------------------------------------------------------

In F-Zero GP Legend I've beaten Captain Falcon & Jody Summer's stories in Story mode. I just wish their stories had real closure. You never find out what happend to Jody's brother and Rick never gets Zoda. And Jody looks really hot in this game. I remember in FiZero X she looked really corny but she looks pretty good here. Probably because the game is based off the anime. Time Trial races have always been really fun in F-Zero games. Maybe it's because of the track designs or the intense speed but you can always shave more seconds off your time. Captain Falcon and Octoman are still some of my favorite racers but Lucy Liberty schools them with her craft. She has an B Body, C Boost and best of all, a A grip. I can take some boost turns without even letting off the gas of breaking with her. She's so awesome.

Gradius is pretty hard. In fact, if I can recall, (I didn't play the game much cause of Final Fantasy X, in which I'm currently racking up sphere points off Iron Giants in Thunder Plains), you can toggle death options, you can either die and return on the spot like in Life Force/Salamander, or get hit one time and see a black screen and have to go all the way back, the traditional Gradius style.
Oh speaking of Gradius V, is the Konami code still around?

Man, this Friday thru Sunday, there's a gaming con, well not exactly a con but people come from everywhere, bring in their systems and just play for the fuck of it for 3 days straight. Just like anime cons and other shit like that, time stands still, you think it's 12 midnight when in reality it's only 7:30 PM. It's called MAGFest or Mid Atlantic Gaming Festival.

The code is in the game, except there's a slight variation on it.

Yes, Gradius is hard, but you'll have to play to earn your credits. For every 1 hour you play, you get one additional credit (trust me, that hour goes by WAY fast). I've got my game set on Normal.

I'm really enjoying the heck out of it. I got up to the last few stages (6-3), but ran out of credits. There's supposedly 8 stages. It's got the classic "Life Force/Salamander" boss theme when you fight some of the classic bosses. It gives you a lot of leeway, too. To die, a shot has to hit your cockpit. When you see the madness that are Stages 3 and 4, you'll be glad they did that.

The best option type for me is Type 4, since you can make the bits rotate around you and form a pseudo-shield.

A few more credits, and I think I can take down this bad boy. I don't even want to see the game on Very Hard. :wow:

I should have been more specific - there IS no 30 man code in this game. The "Konami Code" only gives you a power-up (Speed up, missile, laser, 4 options, and a force field).

STILL an awesome game, and (fuck Ikaruga) STILL beatable by normal means.

OH SNAP!!! I just played the first level of Gradius V :wow: FREAKING AWESOME!!! I'm being swarmed by enemies with only misiles and laser as weapons because I haven't gotten any Multiples (or Options as old-school Gradius fans would call them). I was actually getting nervous. I wasn't sure if I was going to make it. I was surprised to have that feeling of tension so early on in the game. Ooooo I LOVE IT!!! I actually made it through level 1-1 without dying. I had four options and I totally pwned that boss. I'm sooooooooo gonna love this game.

Heh Heh, I figured that you'd like it, Reggie!

Wait until you hear that 2nd Stage boss music. Remember, ever hour you play, you get an additional credit.

- NINJA GAIDEN HURRICANE PACK VOL. 2 - downloaded it today, and good LORD, is it HARD. Lots of new enemies, new attack patterns, an unrelenting A.I., and changes to existing conditions makes this one of the most difficult games I've ever played bar none. Just the normal enemies will kick your ass. I'm too old for this....at least you get unlimited projectile weapons (but they did little good against most of your foes).

- Played some more of X-Men Legends today - I got to the Morlock Tunnels and I'm working on rescuing another X-Man to add to my team (my main group now is Iceman, Storm, Wolvie, and Cyclops w/ Jean Grey and Storm rotating or Iceman/Beast). My favorite character is easily Wolverine, since I spend most of my time playing the game as him. I've got to start getting Nightcrawler and Jubilee into the mix so I can get them built up a bit more.

- Got another credit for Gradius today, bringing my total to 9. Got back up to 6-3 and kicked it! Gonna get it next time, though.

My settings are:

Difficulty: Normal
Restart: Same spot respawn
Option Type: 4

Weapons Build-up Plan:

1.) Speed up
2.) Speed up
3.) Missile
4.) Laser
5.) Option 1
6.) Option 2
7.) Option 3
8.) Option 4
9.) Force Field

After passing stage 1-1 of Gradius V without dying I thought I was top dog. Then I got into stage 1-2 and start dying...A LOT. I had it set on the old-school death Gradius settings so if you die, you don't respawn where you just died but further back. D'oh! I changed that when I played again and I still kept on dying a lot. What I needed where some Options and Lasers but I was down to my p shooter default gun. Amazingly I made it through the bosses on stage 1-2. I'll do better when I play tonight after work.

I got to X-Ridley on Metroid Fusion last night. He kicked my ass a couple times, and then I went to bed.

I suppose that the X could have infested some Space Pirates back during Return of Samus. But how could they have gotten Ridley? Because the only time the Space Pirates were on SR388 was during Return of Samus, and Ridley is still in Super Metroid. I suppose it's possible to make some convoluted story about how Prime takes place after Fusion, and Ridley's become Meta-Ridley in Prime because of all the work that the Space Pirates had to do to him to remove the X or something. But that falls apart too because it doesn't explain how Samus would be half-Metroid in Fusion, but then normal again in Prime.

I guess the only conclusion is to chalk it up to Fusion's piss-poor premise and writing yet again.

Oh I know there's no 30 man code in Gradius V. The instant power up code is what I was talking about. Who needs 30 lives when you die too much and you have to start over at the beginning?

In fact the number of times you're allowed to use the instant power up code depends on what stage it is. It's different for each one.

You guys would really dig this - a GOOD Next Gen X-Men game.

The furthest I've got on Gradius V is the boss marathon stage. It's the modern version of Gradius III's "Mayors on Parade" segment.
Speaking of Gradius V, later on I think I'll pull out the Sega Saturn for some Sexy Parodius. The whole thing about the game is crazy for alot of reasons:
>if you do the Konami code the regular way, the words "OH MY GOD" appear on your ship. So to activate everything the arrows and buttons are reversed.

>The Medusa Boss at the end of stage 2 (I think), when you score hits off her, she makes this arousing moan.

>Several American Anthems such as "American Patrol" and "Battle Hymn of the Republic" are used in this game, which would've been quite offensive if it did come stateside.

Anybody know when Smackdown vs. RAW is gonna be released? I'm really looking forward to it, as it seems to improve on many things from HCTP. The only downside seems to be the exclusion of major stars like Austin, Goldberg, and Brock Lesnar (I heard The Rock will be in there in some shape or form). The game is EASILY a 9. Only thing that keeps it from being a 10 is character balance.Almost exactly what I would've said. The gameplay is an excellent blending of the Vampire Hunter games and Freedom Force, and for the most part it represents the characters well. But the character blanace is horrible (one of the worst examples is Rogue, who both takes and dishes damage like a little bitch), and there are also some nasty camera problems.

Anyway, if you like X-Men, buy it.

The spider is easy.

1.) When you first get to him, concentrate on getting under him and hiding beneath the blocks to avoid his 360' laser attack, and also to avoid the rings he shoots until his core shows and he is vulnerable to damage. When he lifts his legs out of the wall to walk, that's your cue to move around them. You only have a second or two to do so with each step.

2.) Use your options to take out the cannons on the blocks below you. (I use Type-4 and the rotating option to hit them).

3.) The spider will then become vulnerable, but watch out for the falling blocks he hits when he walks into them.

4.) Make your way back up between his legs on the left side of the screen and pummel him for a bit.

5.) Watch out, because soon he will try to use his 360 laser again, so I suggest you get out after a bit and go hide back under the blocks at the bottom until he shoots it.

6.) Go back up to bombard him some more, and if you've been constantly shooting him, he SHOULD be able to get in one more laser attack before you get back in-between his left legs and finish him off.

Anybody know when Smackdown vs. RAW is gonna be released?

I don't know of a release date yet.

I just bought an X-Box with two controllers, a memory card, Return to Castle Wolfenstein, and Fable from a friend of mine for $150. I traded in Fable at a Game X-change and got enough credit for Brute Force and some platformer that looked pretty fun called Ty the Tasmanian Tiger. All in all, a very good deal for me, except that now I have four uncompleted games (I don't intend to play single-player on Wolfenstien, only multiplayer), which makes me feel pretty swamped right now.

Oh, and Remy - Star Control 2? This is a man who shows some serious taste in games.Thank you. I played the original Star Control on the Amiga, and when the second one came out on PC, I snapped that up immediately. Story Mode was fun, but the real lasting value for me was Super-Melee. I just wish that it had online capabilities so that I could test out my skills against players besides my friends and Dad.

Favorite ship is without doubt the Thraddash Torch. Conservative use of Afterburner + the super-long-range forward cannon gives it a mean runaway game that I believe makes it the best ship in the game, despite only having 8 Crew.

Bullshit. I had the whole stage 4 DONE just awhile ago with all Rainbow Vs. I get to Gran Bruce, and beat him...didn't get hit once...but he just died too fast...and I got an "A" for Vpoints! I was ready to punch thru the tv screen.

The part with the electric things, fish, black things AND Bianco Billys is fuckin HARD as hell. Sometimes I just get hit by NOTHING....I could be standing there, and no Billy has fired, nor is there any fish or electricity...and the game sometimes just DECIDES I got hit. For the first time...I sense real cheating from Viewtiful Joe! Ukemi potentially solves getting hit of course...but it's really difficult to do considering the 4th stage practically becomes pitch black when you use Slow+Zoom to attempt a Ukemi. Plus, that part of the stage is a hill, which also throws judgement off on where exactly you'll hit the ground.

heh, I never did resume my adventures in Adult mode with Alastor. That shit may even be more difficult than the damn Rainbow V Challenge. Alastor has serious problems with the whole Fire Leo fight. You're at a huge disadvantage right off the bat simply because of how Alastor is. Yes, I actually have more faith in beating Rainbow V Challenge than beating Adult mode with Alastor.

This whole weekend was the best weekend of gaming all this year. I just walked in the house from a convention called MAGFest (Mid Atlantic Gaming Festival), in Williamsburg, where tourism is a natural resource in Virginia. People brought in their games and just played to their heart's desire for 3 straight days. Empire Arcadia, including TFGM, Justin Wong, Xecutioner was there as well. Here's all what I played:
>Ninja Gaiden (NES)
>DDR Extreme (DDR that uses Eye Toy, it was funny as hell as me and 4 other guys were trying to prevent the ball from going off the screen and we could actually see ourselves.
>Gradius V
>3rd Strike
>GGXX #Reload
>Played Hyper SF2 with John "Flash" Gordon. He handed me my ass with Turbo Edition Ryu. He kept it old school though. Had the music set on CPS1, and used Turbo Edition characters.
>Tetris Attack (Import Gamecube)
>Magical Drop 2 (Neo Geo, via XBox)
>Amplitude (couldn't get more involved in the game cuz there was a rotation of people)
>beat Rockman and Forte (Rockman's game) in front of 5 people
>beat "Master of Weapon" on Mega Drive/Sega Genesis JP. If you're not Japanese and easily get pissed off at shooters where too much enemies and gunfire engulf the screen and come at you too fast, might wanna stay away from Master of Weapon. If you thought Ikaruga was tough, wait til you try this. It's insanely hard even on easy mode!
>Three Gradius fans rallied around me when they saw I had a real copy of Famicom Gradius 2. We were playing it non-stop. And they even invited me to stay in their hotel room for nothing, so I guess having Gradius 2 was a status stunt.

has anyone seen these in their shopping malls yet? I copped one of those legit Hong Kong bootleg systems with dozens of NES games built into them. One looks like a Nintendo 64 controller, the other controller looks like Capcom's old PC Fighter 6 for computers, and a zapper which really looks like a ordinary handgun. The best parts about it is that it's also a Famicom system, it's got the cartridge pins, and it's also uses batteries aside AC adapters so you can play on a mobile screen.

EDIT: I finally bought Megaman X: Command Mission. But I was really about to knock the fuck out of the bastard behind the counter at EB. This is the second time those bastards did this shit. He gave me the case that was on fuckin' display instead of giving me a shrinkwrapped case. I told him I want a new copy. He insisted that it was new, but because people were in line behind me (the mall was closing at the time and people were making their last minute purchases), I let him slide with it and didnt want to risk making a fool of myself telling him off.

Glad you had fun at MAGfest. You seemed pretty stoked to do it.

You let that EB guy off easy, though. New shrinkwrapped copy, or no sale.

Also, I just got done playing over 3 hours of X-Men Legends. That game sucks me in every time. I say I'm going to shut it off and stop playing, but I kept going. Finally did about 10 minutes ago.

If Gen2000 doesn't see this I'll just send a PM...but damn what the hell is this shit?!
Viewtiful Fuckin Joe ---okay, it's actually "Episode 3" I'm on in my Rainbow V-Challenge. I just went thru the 2nd half with all Vs....I beat Gran Bruce = Rainbow V rank, so naturally I jumped up feeling all good about myself. Results screen = rv, V, rv, rv, rv, etc. <<<where the FUCK is that regular V coming from?! The game is just BLATANTLY FUCKING CHEATING at this point. Each segment was played just about perfect enough to warrant a rainbow V. Each damn time I was graded, I got Rainbow Fuckin V. And then the results screen just magically creates a REGULAR V to throw my shit off! What the hell is this crap?!

This is twice now...the first time I just chalked it up to bad short-term memory...I assumed I messed up for real on the 2nd segment, and just kept going to "practice" on the rest of the board and the Gran Bruce fight....and then it happens again in the same 2nd segment. If this is how the shit is going to be, I'll just continue the rest of the challenge and then CHEAT my fucking Super Blue with an AR later on, as there is no way to win when a game simply DECIDES on a goddamn results screen you lose when you really didn't.

Wow, Famicom, it sounds like you had an awesome time at that game festival. I wish stuff like that went on here in Ohio. And you actually have a Famicom copy of Gradius 2? I wondered why we never got that game. They need to release that sucker over here on a compilation disc or something. Speaking of Gradius, I finally got to play Gradius V with my father and my brother-in-law. We were all in my room just passing around the controller. Playing a 2 player game means less power-ups (if you're nice about it, i.e., sharing) but playing with someone else covering your back is soooooo much fun. We even used the Konami code to power up our ships. I'm up to over 7 hours of gameplay and 9 continues.

I played some SFIII:3rd Strike today. First time I've played in weeks. I play Vs. against CPU Q. I'm Dudley and Q totally owns me. I can't believe how bad I got schooled. :wow:

EDIT: ^Man, Million, you actually do all that stuff in VJ? Dude, I honestly don't think I could handle it. My head would probably explode if I even attepted that stuff. :wow:

Some other memorable MAGFest moments came to mind.
>The Minibosses concert was awesome
>Cindy Morgan, one of the actresses in Caddyshack was there
>The Gradius fans that I stayed in the hotel room with, they introduced me to a couple other people who happens to be fans of Rygar for NES, they carry the cartridge with them all the time, and at any given moment, even when unorthodox, the man holds the cartridge up and we're all chanting "RYGAR! RYGAR! RYGAR! RYGAR!"
>While watching people play DDR, we did something similiar to the Genei Jin reaction. Whenever a DDR scrub plays the beginner difficulty or a slow song on light difficulty, we're all shouting the direction arrows in unison.
>Someone had some special DDR on his PC where playlists can be custom made, and the song "Ass & Titties" was in the lineup. Someone selected that song and was dancing on lightning fast arrows, I was on the floor laughing to fucking tears! The background was a picture of Vida Guerra!

Ah the power of cons. Not only you go to support your favorite stuff, but you also get to free your mind and ..... act stupid.

*disregard the previous ranting...I found out what was wrong.
Reggie --RV Challenge is not as rediculous as I thought it would be.....I said it before...it's mostly just a matter of getting as many V-points as quickly as possible.

heh, I just realized...on that last play-through...I did 4 Ukemis in that room with the electro things and Bianco Billys....haha...that was tight. I still can't Ukemi if Gran Bruce throws me to the right from the left-most side of the room though...cuz Joe(*Blue in this case) hits that platform, and I have no idea on the Ukemi-timing there. I should be getting this stuff on tape to enjoy later. (*I still have old footage of my Survivals in Tekken 3, Soul Calibur, the final battle with Dark Falz in Dreamcast PSO, the endings of Twisted Metal 2, etc.)

Glad to hear you found out what the problem was.

As for this quote:

heh, I never did resume my adventures in Adult mode with Alastor.

Are you getting the red VFX bottle during those tasks in Episode 3-2? You should basically have unlimited VFX most of the stage which means you can hold down Slow most of the time during the tasks. You get the first red bottle at the end of task 1 and more at the beginning of the other tasks leading up to Joker. It's not any harder with Alastor than any other character, one of times where that statement is actually true.

"The server is too busy at the moment. Please Try again later." Man, that has got be one of the most annoying things ever.

Anyway, I made it to stage 7-3 on Gradius V. Even om Very Easy it is SUPER HARD!!! There were like 40 enemies on the screen at once!!! If you don't have some Multiples and Lasers, you're dead. DEAD!!! Yesterday I started using the Konami Code. Forget trying to beat it the right way. I was getting hammered and I didn't care about honor and all that other crap. They even brought back some of the speed parts of level 7 on Gradius III. I lost my last ship fighting some boss which I had to chase through the level. Stuff was blowing up and he was shooting lasers at me like mad. I had ONE more core to go but I got killed!!!!

-Viewtiful Joe = episode 4 DONE with a beautiful Rainbow V! I'll hit up Ep.5 more seriously as soon as I get off the net in a few minutes. I am now without a Z button, thanks to a moment of uncontrollable rage.

During one of those last 2 fights with AJ...I had to Ukemi 3 times...I'm quite proud of my Ukemi skills. I can probably successfully do one about 8 or 9 times out of 10 now.

---meanwhile...Phantasy Star Online has begun calling me back...."Dookieman" still doesn't have the required level to wear Smoking Plate Armor...ah, I can't break away from VJ right now...the RV Challenge is just too compelling.....it's like playing the game on a whole new level...

Episode 5 isn't so bad after all...I'm still not thru to 5-2 just yet...but the only part giving me a few troubles seems to be the uphill battle after the sewer area. There seems to be a large V-point requirement here.

I should have this beat, and move on to the train part before tomorrow. I hate those sissy Verdys at the beginning though...they always try to fly away from you immediately....little punk sons of bitches...scared to get some of my Rock-on combo action. :p

after the train...I'm betting the Magnificent 5 will be even worse...

I've been playing Super Mario Sunshine for the past week. I've now completed Bianco Hills, Ricco Harbor, Pinna Park, Noki Bay, and Gelato Beach, as well as getting several of the Delfino Plaza Shines and buying several from that raccoon jackass with Blue Coins. I'm up to 77 Shines, and haven't yet used a FAQ yet.

I just wish that Yoshi were more available. The times that you're allowed to use him are so limited. I want to ride him around for several levels, eating everything that moves like you could in Super Mario World.

Holy Knight
10-05-2004, 12:08 PM
^ Yeah, its a shame they didn't let you utilize him more through the game because he would have so much more potential.

The actual game seems to be pretty easy if your a 3d veteran. Even those levels without the water pack just seemed like I was playing through the same 'hard' levels from n64. Its just layed out differently.

I lost my old copy of Final Fantasy Tactics so I decided to buy the greatest hits release before that too is gone. I am currently in the third chapter with about 6-8 guys rotating around. I usually only stuck with the main 5 guys, but I want more variety this time around. I'm about to go to 'the dreaded' Riovannes castle with 2-3 of the hardest battles of the game.

What has suprised me the most this time around is that I am letting Agrias use other classes besides her main one. She already has all the classes up to the ninja class unlocked.

Viewtiful Joe, the Rainbow V Challenge --oh yes...episode 5 DONE! The first section, 5-1 is actually more difficult than the train was! And really, it wasn't even that bad. I had more of a rough time with episode 4. This stage didn't take long at all to pass....actually, I got rainbow V on the train on just my 2nd try...I got it on tape, too. Rainbow V off Alastor on the first try....I think with 3 successful Ukemis...I got it on tape, so I can review it later to be sure.

So it's on to the Magnificent 5...Charles and Hulk are easy of course, but Gran Bruce has been a slight problem the first 2 times I've faced him.

With Joe, I just got him to stage 3-2.

However, at the time that I bought XML I only had the GC and bought that version, it's just fine as well. I just hear that, if you can, the X-Box version is slightly better.

I got all the way to stage 7-9 on Gradius V. It was another boss marathon level with familiar bosses, the one I wanted to see the least being this huge bug-like robot. I remember something similar to it on Gradius III--I so hated killing that thing.

I played some DBZL Supersonic Warriors tonight. It feels a bit odd playing this game on my SP (I just got an SP a few weeks ago.) but I'm getting used to it. I played Free Battle a lot. I had LV3 Goku, LV3 Gohan, and LV3 Vegeta go up against 3 LV3 Super Buu's. With Goku I offed the first one fast but it took some time before I took down the the other two. I made sure every1 had a turn but Gohan got quiet a bit of his health depleted. I also learned just how powerful Super Buu is. LV2 Gohan was getting schooled so bad against him. :wow:

Almost there...Gran Bruce has been a tough one! I've been coming up short of a rainbow V on him for the past couple of DAYS. FINALLY it's becoming more comfortable....I don't remember the exact results, but at least I was close on the last 2 times fighting him. It's tough sometimes to avoid getting hit by this bastard. If you get caught in his Pacman Attack, then you lost a V in Defense, plain and simple, cuz it's next to impossible to do a successful Ukemi in that area...particularly underwater. Anyway, of course I've found that it is imperative to get the coins from BOTH pink boxes in the background at some point during the fight....I think after getting all those coins, you can destroy him just like before and get a rainbow V. Now I just have to focus on not getting caught in the Pacman Attack....sometimes the bastard kinda cheats...the biting sound effect will go away to throw you off...and suddenly he just appears on screen still doing that attack! If it's underwater, and he's already on screen before you're ready to move out of the way...you WILL get caught.

I'm thinking I may be better off if I just never let him out of my sight, much like AJ.

Speaking of which---!!!:wow: My fights against AJ are absolutely SPECTACULAR now!! I'm getting the next battle on tape for sure. I can follow him around the area perfectly now, and STILL get just about all that background stuff. This isn't as hard as I thought...G.Bruce is the only thing really holding me back here, not AJ. Some particularly sweet moments:
-Dragon Kick to AJ's face...he falls off the ledge to the ground...with me following him all the way down...Zoom-Stomping him immediately while he's down!
-Dragon Kick yet again to AJ ---I notice a red film cannister has been opened....I mach-speed flew(*C.Blue) over to it, and came back...AJ was STILL dazed from the kick!! I actually made it all the way over to that spot with the red cannister and back over to him before he could do anything about it.
-Pushing AJ off the ledge into the electrified pit!! Nice and low-down tactic there...

This is clearly the most entertaining fight in the game, imo. It's highlight-reel material.

*another reason getting the background stuff isn't as hard as I thought it was = right at the beginning, you can mach speed AJ! It's always an easy opening, as he just stands there when the fight begins. I make sure to jump away fast though, since it doesn't take much of that to open up a few boxes, and he's always does some kind of counter attack.

YES! After a long, seemingly unending battle....Captain Blue stands victorious in a legendary pose; The Magnificent 5 have been defeated, all with Rainbow V ranks!

Gran Bruce really was a bitch to the end there. I finally got into a regular system with him....and got the rainbow v....and of course, I went on to get "B,V,V" on Fire Leo for doing the Voomerang method! I went through again...screwing up on Gran Bruce again, but perfecting the fight with Leo...finally I got the Rainbow V on Bruce, and then Leo. (*AJ was a piece of cake at this point.)

Rainbow V for Leo = doing the Voomerang method can work if you throw in a Viewtiful Forever somewhere in there.(Vrang method --> after dodging the slashes, Leo's dizzy...immediately throw a Vrang backwards, and then turn to hit him with Slow Zoom Punches, aka "RHOH" as the Gamefaqs people call it. The Vrang will combo into your punches, and Leo takes an obscene amount of damage from this....)

I haven't even analyzed episode 7 yet, but I feel as though I'm done with the truly hard part now...I'm over the hump. Will The Captain ascend to his ultimate destiny, and fully realize his infinite VFX Director's Cut power? Tune in next time for the grand finale...the stage is all set for a final battle of epic proportions!! 'til then...tataa!!

Playing the November OPM disc.

Having no technology in MGS3 (like laser sights) is a chore. The demo is pretty short though. I had no idea that camo index would play such a huge role. I didn't quite figure out the new hand to hand mode. Eating snakes is cool too, as it boosts your stamina.

Didn't quite like Neo Contra. It was weird. Overhead Contra (kinda like the Super C and Contra 3 levels). I never played the last Contra on PS2 (own it though). I think that hit percentage rate is bullshit. Contra is hard enough as it is to have some conservative b.s. (make every shot count).

Thought Need For Speed Underground 2 was interesting. Kinda like Grand Theft Auto meets the first game (though I hear Midnight Club 2 is the same way).

Also tried Tak2. Doubt I'll be buying that one.

Anyone know if Toys'r'Us will have the buy two get one free sale? They had one last year, and I totally caught up to a lot of the year's releases that way.

Still playing FFX-2. Currently in Chapter 5 @ 88% completion. I've been taking a break from it because of the fact I had to do all those stupid side quests (especially the Chocobo Ranch GUH!!!) to get 100% completion. I'm thinking I'll play a little bit more tonight. I'm waiting for Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne. Almost Tuesday!!!

revpersona,

I'm still in chapter one. I started playing the game three months ago (got up to the public relations mission) and had to go to military training. Is that your first play through?

Yeah, that's my first play through...so far I haven't messed anything up. I just need to be sure to get Episode Complete everywhere but Bevelle. Just got to finish the Chocobo Side Quests and the Cactuar Nation, then do the last few sections and I should be at 100%. After both of those side quests are done, I have to venture into Bevelle and make my way down 20 levels to get my last 2 Crimson Spheres then head back to Mushroom Rock Road for a quest.

If that is your first play through Spider....I HIGHLY suggest using a completion guide, because there's no way in heck I would want to play throught this game again. It's not a horrible game, but it's definitely a chore to get 100% and the game just seems to be lacking in certain areas for me.

Currently playing Def Jam: Fight For NY.

I've gone through the game several times, now I'm just making up people I know to go through story mode with in the name of boredom.

Next up is ESPN NBA 2k5. Thinking about going through a season/dynasty with the Nuggets or the Heat.

I have that. I managed to pick it up a few months back, actually. Good game.

Yeah. Too bad Konami didn't think to bring it stateside at the time, but otherwise it's my favorite game of the Gradius series.

Back on topic, I picked up X-Men Legends a couple of days ago and I must say it's one hell of a game.

I've played playing F-Zer0 GP Legend a little bit a few days ago. I printed out a sheet of unlockables so in addition to Time Attack mode, I have plenty reason to keep playing.

I went back to back to Final Fight One last night. Nothing beats shoulder toss a punk to a gang of his on-coming buddies with Alpha Guy. Rapid punch option owns.

I picked up Katamri Damacy at EB Games. I didn't see it on the shelf so I figured I'd ask the store clerk if they had it. Sure enough, they had about 3 copies on the shelf behind Mortal Kombat Decption behind the desk. He told me everyone loved the game and they always sell a lot of copies. I can't wait to play it.

I also bought DBZ: Budokai 1 for PS2 for $4.99 used with instructions and the poster. Budokai 1 for PS2 was my very first DBZ game and even though DBZ: Supersonic Warriors is superior to it, I still think it is a fun game and the story mode owns. I found an unexpected purchase in Dark Stalkers 3 for PS2 for $7.99 with instructions. Never played a single DS game but if it's anything like Street Fighter, I should be good to go. Finally, I bought Iridion II and Gradius Galaxies at Funcoland bot for $9.99 used. Score!!

Yeah half the time Konami gets no love from us. No Gradius Gaiden, and not even a petition for a Snatcher and Policenauts English translation made them budge.
Yesterday me and one of my buddies took a 4.5 hour drive to a tournament at this guy's apartment that didn't become one since not many people showed up. But we still made soup out of it and turned it into competition day/night. We played 3S, Mortal Kombat Deception, GGXX#Reload, the Korean PS2 version, the music is totally different, but still kicks as much ass as the Japanese soundtrack. There was also some drunken #Reload as well, but of course I didn't participate.

I also got to play Guilty Gear Isuka for the first time. ARRRGH!!! I can't express how fun this shit is in 4 player mode! It's like you don't have to be real good and play seriously, just free your mind and....have fun. I caught lots of matches on my camcorder.

And one of the guys hooked me up with a copy of MELTY BLOOD REACT!!!! That's the bombshell of the whole trip!

KP

I liked MGS3. I liked hunting for food, that was kinda cool.

I didn't like Neo Contra as well. It was too crazy. I can already tell that I'm going to like the first Contra on PS2 more than this one. I also don't care for the "hit rate" counter. I don't have time to worry about conserving shots, so I don't worry about it too much.

Area 51 and Outrun on the X-Box Magazine demo disc are both pretty good. Might get A51 when it goes discount, and Outrun when it first comes out.

yes, Darkstalkers games are The Shit™. I've loved them since the first one. DS3 also has a custom-character feature, which is really just a color-edit. Still, it was such fun to just have that much control...I had a Dimitri in all black with white energy around him....I made Felicia naked with dark hair...I can't remember the others so well but it was great. Unfortunately you can only play them in that separate mode...

Come on Capcom...we need more color-edit and Custom Character modes!!! (like in the *HINT HINT*Viewtiful Joe series*Strong HINT Strong HINT*.)

I really can't get enough of Character Creation modes in games....that shit should be in EVERY game if ya ask me. I like making my own characters with original backstories and goals...and playing them in whatever game it is. Once again, just imagine how PERFECT Viewtiful Joe would be if you could create your own superhero with color-edit and perhaps a body-part(*from existing characters) swap or mix/match something. Imagine if in that Capcom Fighting Jam you could make your own fighter or grappler!

Anyway, back on DS3...the TnA report:
-QBee = yep. I'd hit it.
-Lilith and Morrigan of course....I prefer Lilith though...she's more of a cutesy type, which is superior to pure raw hotness, imo. It helps that she gets naked in one of her super moves.
-Felicia --yep.
-BB Hood---eh, yeah. She's not on the level of Felicia and Lil though, imo. Too many clothes.
-Hsien Ko --nope. Too...strange. Plus, she has all those sharp things that come from nowhere. I will not risk getting my Meat™ cut....not ever.

OPM Disc:

The MGS3 demo was cool but short. I thought there would be a boss battle like MGS2 demo. I still haven't quite got the grasp of the close combat either.

And I played Neo Contra some more. I guess the hit rate is the percentage of enemies you kill. I got up to 94 percent, but still managed to somehow get a C on the level. I think the mission time and lives have something to do with it. I still think that makes the game more difficult than it has to.

I think the most enjoyable game on the demo (so far) is Ratchet and Clank.

Not really feeling Tak 2.

I saw SVC for X-box Live at EB. I'd like to pick it up, but I really want to wait to see if Toys'R'Us is going to do that buy two, get one free sale. Does anyone know when they usually do this? I remember it was in October last year...

Klax. (http://www.klov.com/game_detail.php?letter=K&game_id=8266) Damn you, Midway arcade classics!

I also played some "Puzzle Kombat" in MKD, before realizing that it isn't even a little bit fun.

Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War.

I dunno, it's a breath of fresh air after all the Starcrafts and Warcrafts of the world (AoE is just too boring to me, and Rome: Total War, I haven't gotten enough brainpower to play that yet...)

Funny how it still has Orks though.

Hmm, I'll have to rent Burnout 3 and try it out. I played the second one and it was meh. Ridge Racer Type 4 and Rage Racer are the pinnacle of arcade racers IMO, but if you say it's pretty close to RT4....then I will have to give it a shot.

Edit: HS, Zelda: The Minish Cap looks friggin ubelieveable. I love 2D Zeldas (Link to the Past is my favorite Zelda) and this one looks amazing! I can't wait to play that one! I finally have Super Mario SunShine finished with all 120 Shines. I ussed a FAQ for about 2/3 of the Blue Coins, but I finished everything else on my own.

Now starting in on X-Men Legends full-force. Characters that I like:
Gambit - He's just cool. Plus he does obscene amounts of damage on hits. I also really like that radial knockback attack (Staff Slam) and 52 Pick Up seems pretty good.
Nightcrawler - Teleport Frenzy and Blindside Blitz are perfect depictions of 'Crawler's fighting style. Also, that Leap of Faith skill that gives a chance that he'll rescue a dying character from a killing blow saved my bacon tons of times during the USS Arbiter Sentinel fights.
Storm - Another character that does obscene amounts of damage. Leadership is also more than just handy thanks to the XP boost. Also need her welding in several parts.
Wolverine - Mainly for the Feral Rage speed boost, and the Healing Factor makes him easy to keep alive.
Jean Grey - Also does just plain crazy amounts of damage, the only drawback is that since the majority of it is Psychic, she stinks against robots. Psychic Shout is far too overpowered. Plus, she's hot.
Magma - Yet again, overpowered attacks. Magma Form also makes her almost impossible to kill.

Been playing Final Fantasy 2 on my 8-bit NES. It all of a sudden became a fun game, cuz I learned some weird stuff about the system. For instance, while building up outside Althea (the game's first town), if Frionel, Maria and Guy are all cured but all have no MP cause you used up all the cure spells, a stay at the inn is extremely cheap maybe in the single digits. You have to treat Building up hit points, magic points, gil and leveling up weapons as individual cases.

For people that are playing the FC cartridge, a rom on NES emulator, or even Final Fantasy Origins, this is the shortest way I can break it down since most people are lazy about reading long FAQs.

Gaining HP:
Divide your current max HP by 2 by all your characters. Whatever the rate is, keep hitting yourselves until you're under half your current HP. And you'll gain HP after practically every battle. You don't necessarily have to be on your knees in almost dead position.

Gaining MP:
Same principle as HP. Except go under half the MP by whoring out spells. But I personally recommend having your characters using ALL your MP.

Getting gil:
Straight kill enemies.

BLOODY ROAR: Primal Fury!!! YES! Finally this game is mine!! All mine! :wow:

I gave up hope in the search for this non-existent game a long time ago....my only way to play it being at a friend's house. I just gave up and decided to eventually get the Xbox version once I have an Xbox.....

today I randomly hit up Gamestop in my favorite mall...and there it was. Used, but better than nothing! $17.99 I had to have it...this was probably my last chance of ever seeing the game for sale again, since certain games have a tendency to completely disappear from the universe these days. I was worried that it wouldn't play on the way home, since the underside of the disc looks like a retarded monkey took care of it before. Really, people...how hard is it to take decent care of a Gamecube game? This should be even easier than any other disc format games ever....since the GC discs are very small, and you're already holding it by the edge just from taking out of the system!

I got home, and thank goodness...it plays just fine. I even got the manual!(*I don't expect that from old used games) I've wanted this game for a long time....today is a great day.
Things:
-I like pretty much all the characters here....there's some interesting character designs, both in human and beast forms. The graphics are still great, imo.
-the women are HOT. So far I'm liking that blonde girl....Shina(?) more than the others. Her ass and thighs are absolutely wonderful.

-"Stun" is so tight. I don't care if he's slow and a bit awkward...he has a really cool Beast form(Beetle), and his Beast form specials are damn cool. I wish I could transform into a large beetle mutant with powers....

-the music is great. It makes me think of Saturday mornings at the arcade back in the late '80s. It just has that feel. If this game existed back in the day, they'd have this on one of the big screens...and there would be the big crowd around whoever is playing...with interesting crowd reactions to what's happening on screen....all with the smells of Soda drinks and junk food, with sounds of Galaga and Ms. Pacman in the background.....ooooooh yeah..

-I've been playing this non-stop since I got home today, which was....around 12:20something noon. I've beat the game with Gado, Xion, Shina I think...Ganesha(*that was difficult..he seems to have a hard time against Cronos), Stun, Shen Long....hmm....I think that's it...oh yeah, Bakuryu....and Cronos.

-Cronos looks very gay as a human...but damn his Phoenix form(*his Hyperbeast mode) is TIGHT. I LOVE the special where he appears to drain off the opponent's beast energy, but then blasts them with it!:wow: (*in the funny and lame penguin form...he just drains off their energy for himself.)

-for some reason, that Chameleon guy reminds me of Sal the Stockbrocker from the Howard Stern show.

I love this game....so much...
