I'm pretty addicted to Halo 2. This it the first game in a long, long time that I've really wanted to get good at.

In between that I've been playing Phantasy Star II. I just started though.

I've been playing La Pucelle: Tactics and i'm 20 hours in. I was training one of my monsters when it ran away even with 7 happiness points. I'm not sure as to why it left, but I think I chose an option to shoot it. It must have been a rare option because its my first time seeing. Usually these training things don't get that harsh. I wasn't really paying attention to the name. I'm going to save before I "train" my monsters from now on. I had to replay some scenes and a map to get back to where I was. Damn I hate that shit.

Just picked up today:

The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap
Suikoden IV

I dunno when I'll get around to playing them. I'm such a sucker buying more games when I already have a ton that need to be played.

So I realized I posted here twice without actually saying what I am currently playing, shame on me. Well I'm waiting on my sfc imports which are Soul Blader (cart only), Chrono Trigger (complete), and Final Fantasy 6 (complete). The Yun stalker here already knows.:razzy:

So to kill time I've been playing Maple Story (http://www.mapleglobal.com). Good for wasting time, and I used to play Nexus back in the day so I can't help but like it. My character is ZHawkEYE if anyone wants to know.

And of course random fighting games like #Reload and MvC2 and such.
X-Death, I live in Ohio. If you want I can pick you up a copy and mail it to you.
Yeah I'd appreciate it. We'll do the rest of this through pm. :bgrin:

I recently changed the system battery in my Saturn so its internal memory works again! And because it works again I've been playing Panzer Dragoon Saga. It's one game I never got to complete and was upset about that so now I will!

That and I've been self purposely losing on VF4E to unlock the black colour for each character.

I'm still doing the Halo 2 thing every other day.

Since I got my SF Anniversary Joystick, I've been playing more and more fighters with my friends.

I start playing Alien Hominid. Oh man, this game is TOO GOOD. Its as if Konami and SNK teamed up and made Contr and Metal Slug...while they were tripping on acid. I love the ways you can dispose of the FBI: shoot them, slice them, run them over with a truck, hide underground and grab their legs, hop on their heads to blind them. And the animation & visuals in this baby is great!! The 2nd level has you driving on a high way, hoping in and out of cars while wasting FBI agents. The game even lets you wear different hats!! There's just something hilarious about an alien wearing a Japanese rain hat and killing FBI punks.
If you have a GC or a PS2, I highly recommend this game. Def worth the $30.

Now that I've unlocked everything on MMX8, I've started working on getting all AAA ranks, all No Damage Clears, and all EX Finishes. I aldready have the all EXFs, and have AAA ranks on Noah's Park, Optic Sunflower, Gravity Ant, Dark Mantis, and Gigavolt Man-O'-War, and No Damage Clears on all of those except Gigavolt. Anybody have any advice for not getting hit on that stage?

I've also finished Super Hard Mode on my roommate's X-Box copy of Sonic Heroes.

Please, no more talk of MMX8. I'm already fighting the urge not to buy this game. I saw it at Funcoland and Gamespot. The game is just tempting me. Saying "I know how much you love MM games, Reggie. Buy me. Come ooooooooooon. Buy me. Buuuuuuuuuy MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!" Gaaah!! Make it stoooooop!!! I haven't even finshed X7 yet. (Should I even bother) X7 just frustrates me in so many ways. The messed up level design like that one stage that has you playing on the ceiling with inverted controls. And let's not forget that dumb dog Maverick. "BURN TO THE GROUND!! BURN TO THE GROUND!! BURN!!" Makes me wanna rip my freakin' ears off!!!!!

You should play it Reggie. As an old-skool MM fan, it will appeal to you much more than X7. I think it's as good as X4, though of the X series, the very first is still my favorite.

I forgot that that's coming out. I was 20 hours into Xenosaga Ep 1, when my memory card was lost by my nephew at some unknown time when I went military. A coincedence.

When does Ep 2 come out?

I should hurry up and restart that Xenosaga and rush through and absorb the story. So I can get at that Ep 2 when it comes out.

My fav in the X series is the original on the SNES as well. That's just classic stuff. My next gaming purchases were going to be Super Monkey Ball 2 and MGS: The Twin Snakes. I'm ona budget so for personal spending I don't got over $40. MMX8 is $40. Man I want that game.

Technic Beat is a fun game. I haven't played a whole lot of it. I've gone though the first section of the tutorial. Owned myself pretty hard. It will take me some time before I adjust to this sort of game but I'm digging the techno beats and there are even songs of one of my fav arcade style games: RIDGE RACER!! :wow:

Alien Hominid is da freaking GAME!!! This one level has you riding on atop of a yeti and smashing Russian soliders. There's this one kid who is called I kid you not, the "Fat Kid" who helps you out the whole game by giving you power ups. The only thing I dislike about AH is that you can't shoot diagonaly. But since I love AH, so much, I can overlook even that. ALL OF SRK MUST BUY ALIEN HOMINID!!!

still on that next checkpoint on Halo 2 in Legendary Cairo Station....the room where you enter and there's 2 grunts on the top level turrets, and Elites and Grunts on the ground level on the other side of the room.

There's an interesting glitch apparently with that large box on the left side towards the center area of the room....sometimes Elites can get stuck there on the side of the box...it's weird. I'll take any advantage I can get on Legendary though. When that happens, you can usually just shoot the Elite to death and he can't retaliate at all....he's just stuck "jittering" around like he's having a seizure by the box. I usually stick him with a plasma grenade and then follow up with Plasma Rifle shots. As rediculous as their health is.....even that combination isn't enough, and you still need a headshot (or 2?!) on him with the Battle Rifle after the shields are gone.

Also, they seem to get stupid when chasing with a sword. So far, it's never gone for that killing lunge move....he'll just run at me while I'm backpedaling, constantly hitting him in the face with shots from whatever gun. Do they ever go for the lunge? Unlike the previous room, I'm actually having fun in this one, and it doesn't seem as hopeless.....

Ninja Gaiden is next on the list---aren't the NES games unlockable? Even if they weren't I'd still get it, but I remember hearing something about that, and it sounds like an awesome side bonus to an already great current game.

THEN I got to get Fable, Mechassault 2, Midway Arcade Treasures(despite the half-ass emulations, I still want it), and the Otogi games, AND Destroy All Humans if it doesn't get cancelled.....it feels so good to finally have a system with a GREAT selection of quality games. I still love my GC, but in the system's whole lifespan so far, it's pretty sad that you can count the great, must-have games for it on 1 hand.

Random tidbit ---Scott the Engineer from the Howard Stern show plays Halo 2 on LIVE. He didn't mention his gamertag though.

edit---Halo 2 ---The Scarab Gun sounds cool...but after reading about all the crap you have to do to get it, I decided not to waste my time. It just sounded like way too much work for a cool gun that will only last for that 1 level anyway. I assume the effect is like when Hunters shoot the green energy beam at you(which is also like the actual Scarab's projectile, only small enough for a character to use)? I'd rather there just be some other thing to do to unlock the gun for normal single-player use...like beating the game on a certain difficulty(that'd be a bitch if the requirement is Legendary though)...or just a simple "Up, Up, Down Down," type of code. Of course it would only be for single player though....it sounds a bit too powerful for multiplayer.

Don't put too much time into that ps2 copy, because I'm looking to ship your shit tomorrow. The weather is pretty bad here so hopefully it'll get to you ok.

I included my most popular mvc2 custom, just incase you don't like the hastily made SURPRISE version I made for you (I'm thinking the chances of that are pretty slim though, hehe). If you get bored of either of those just bug me to make you another. Plus, you're getting GGXX and you can be assured it is of the highest quality that isn't shrink-wrapped.

It's a shame I couldn't copy my fight/glitch tape for you, because that shit would've blown your mind.

Marvel vs. Capcom 2-Really enjoyed the first MvC. Really enjoying this one. Of course I'd probably get pwnd something fierce against my bro-in-law. He's got the Xbox version AND he's played the arcade version. Can't wait for my DC version to arrive. Although I may need to invest in a good DC arcade stick. just putting forth my own reccomendation. He is, by no means, forced to take it.

And my experience after playing through X2, and very thoroughly I might add, is that it sucks ballz. Massive ballz.

Paine was one of the only redeeming qualities about that game. That and the cool dress spheres.

But the story was terrible and lacked any real conclusion. the lack of real summons kinda sucked. Yuna and Rikku were turned into insipid trash a la Charlies Angels.

It was by far the worst FF I have ever played.

Halo 2 --I went back to Heroic last night....and after the past 2 weeks of Legendary....this is almost a breeze in comparison! I'm at the first area with all the ghosts now....chasing down the SCARAB. Speaking of that...the theme music for it is awesome...I just downloaded it the other day off that dude's site...it's "Earth City". The only hard part of Heroic so far seems to be the Jackal snipers...and they can be taken out when you realize where the shot came from....plus, I've become good at sniping(or just scoped-shots with BR) while moving around...thanks to the hell that is Legendary. In Legendary, you really can't afford to ever be in one spot for 1.2 seconds unless it's good cover.

I had a dream last night that I had Master Chief's Mjolnir armour!!!! Mine was all black of course....therefore, much cooler-looking than the real MC himself. I was killing random soldiers and regular people with headshots with a Beam Rifle...nobody could stop me since...it was here; earth 2005. No regular law enforcement could stop me with the Mjolnir battle armour and covenant weapons....it's a shame this dream didn't last long.

King's Field: TAC - still near the beginning, finally getting into it which is hard for this type of game when i dont have much dedicated time to playing it.

R-Type Final - havent completely dived into it, mostly been messing around. Versus is weird as hell. Unlocking ships is fun though.

SF:AE - mainly sticking to hyper fighting. AI is so damn hard. Focusing on CE Bison and ST Ken

CFE - still love it (fuck the haters) bnt havent been playing it as much due to not much playtime and single player isnt as rewarding as AE, and I go to family fun and see it has been relegating to a shiesty cab so I dunno how much point in playing there is...maybe I can sneak up on someone at EVO.

And X2 wouldnt have been as shitty to me if the ending had been better. it just seemed like i played all that way to get to nothing... and thats what made me angry about the game.

X2 was a poor sequal to X.

eh, the Charlie's Angels/Sailor Moon angle made me want to freaking vomit the first time I saw it, but it only got turned way on at the beginning of the game. After a bit, it calmed down, so it was fine. I haven't played to the end yet, but then again I haven't beaten FFX yet. First time I fought him: Basically, the battle turned into a war of attrition and I lost. It was one of those times when you're like: "I can fight forever doing this, or I can go for the win, but I'll get killed. Aw screw it, this is going to get boring quick."

Second time I fought him: Tried to use a strat from GameFAQs. (Yeah, I know...) didn't work. died.

I thought they had levels, i dont remember, but you had to use the sphere grid to obtain the abilities.

anyway, listen to lantis. Anima or Magus Sisters will solve your sin problem.

have you "unlocked" your summons? can they do more than 9999???

cause thats key. Magus Sisters can do upwards of 30,000 if you unlock em.

Blind pits, meh I don't see how that's a problem, there's been other MM games with em.

Bosses, yeah some of them were too easy.

You mean that level in Gate Lab where you "can't" pass it with the Shadow armor because you have to make a huge dash jump that everyone thinks is impossible yet I've done several times? Well, actually you can. You can beat every level in the entire game(excluding the first stage of course) with the Shadow Armor

Put me with the "love it" crowd. I'm glad so many people liked XS, I thought I was singled out here.

As for FFX/X-2, two things. One, Tidus owns his old man for free by one Blitz Ace and a normal attack from Kaladbolg. Two, X was good, but the sequel...I'll just leave it at that.

I disagree entirely, but eh. Zero's alot more fun to use plus he has a way to continually rack up damage against bosses without activating their invincibility. Makes some bosses alot fast to kill. I mean, the Shadow armor is awesome, yes, but Zero's still awesome

Since I'm playing FF X as well right now, might as well tell you how:

Anima is obtained by going to the Baaj Temple. This temple is the one that appears at the beginning of the game when Tidus arrives for the first time at Spira. The location of this place on the airship coordinates is X = 14 Y = 57. Once there, you have to defeat that huge fish boss from the beginning of the game (Gerosgeno? Just make sure you have Stone Ward or Stoneproof on your armors, cuz he uses a petrify/break combo on you), and then you will be able to access the inner sanctum.

Once inside, you'll notice that there are 6 statues. These statues belong to the Yevon Temples you have been to so far. What you need to do is that you must have retrieved the treasures from the 6 Cloister of Trials by using the Destruction Sphere. If you did that, you will notice that the statue corresponding to that temple lights up. For example, the Bevelle Temple statue lights up by itself because you needed to obtain the Destruction Sphere in order to advance. From there, you need to resolve the puzzles of the Besaid, Macalania, Djose, Killika, and Zanarkand temples. After you have obtained all the treasures from the temples, go back to Baaj Temple and light up all 6 statues. You will access the Faith Chamber and obtain Anima.

As for the 99999 summon damage, you must obtain the ultimate weapons of certain characters. After you obtain the ultimate weapon, the aeon can do over 9999 damage, sometimes even reaching the maximum 99999 damage point. The guide goes as:

Yuna's Nirvana = Valefor
Wakka's World Champion = Ifrit
Lulu's Onion Knight = Shiva
Kimahri's Spirit Lance = Ixion
Auron's Masamune = Yojimbo

The other aeons can go over 9999 damage without need of having ultimate weapons.

I've given up on the all AAAs and all No Damage Clears on MMX8. I simply cannot beat Gigavolt Man-O'-War's stage without getting hit, and I can't get anything better than a AA on the boss refights stage (Gateway). Apparently, you need a 32 hit combo on it to avoid point loss. Unforetunately, even with the 50 bonus points for a No Damage Clear, I simply can't make up for the point loss from not having any combos. And I can't figure out how to combo bosses, since they get a short period of invulnerability after a hit.

I think I've taken on too many games. Katamari Damacy, DBZ: B3, GTA: SA, MvC2. It really is hard to get to them all. At the moment, I'm playing MvC2. So many characters in this game. It may take me a while to find out who I like and who I don't like. I haven't even moved beyond the first 24. I haver 2000+ points so I could buy other characters but I want to get good with some of the ones that are already available. Wolverine rocks as usual. Clclops isn't too shabby either. I keep thinking this is SF when it isn't. The action moves at such an accelerated speed and then theres tagging in and out in an instant. I haven't played the first MvC since 2001, so I guess I'd forgotten what it was like to play a 2D fighter like this. :wow: One characters I really like is Tron Bonne (my bro-in-law says she sucks but I LOVE her). I lover her fighting style and that mech that she's in. The fact that she's from a MM game just makes her appeal to me even more. I can't wait to team her up with the Blue Bomber.

X-2 is dope IMO, once you get past the beginning where most of the Charlie's Angels crap occurs. Samurai Yuna w/Rabite's Foot and mastered skills = badass.

Now Xenosaga on the other hand...there's a failure if ever there was one. It would suck so much if not for two things: the metric TON of storyline with little gameplay, and the fact that Xenogears was it's predecessor, which is one of the most badass games EVER. Plus, I can't stand Shion's whiny, robot-lusting ass. Just build the vibrator into KOS-MOS and be done with it, damn. I did, however enjoy the brief glimpse of Abel in the end of XS1, Fei and his family kick ass.

At least Jin, chaos and Jr. own all those fools for free. Jr. should've been the main character anyway, since all the story starts to revolve around him and Albedo. And Jin is homage to THE MAN, Citan Uzuki, so he has to be cool.

Halo 2--the Heroic journey----

man, that Scarab section is ALWAYS fun to me...the music fits the scenario perfectly, it's tense and dramatic, "Action Jackson" Sarge yells "We gonna kill us a Scarab!", and the chase is on....and once again I'm running along the edge with my rocket launcher, thinning out the Covenant so I can have an easier time when I just down on the Scarab's back. It was actually quite a challenge for awhile this time...there is an elite inside with either white or Silver armour...and those guys seem to have a LOT of health and shields....and of course that's why I always make sure to save at least 2 or 3 missiles for when I get inside.

Before this, for the first time....I noticed that there is more rocket ammo on the area with the 3 Wraith tanks..I took a left on that hilly street there, and there's more missiles over in the back area. It's my 3rd time thru the game and this is only my first time noticing that street actually leads somewhere.

- Typing of the Dead - With one of my best friends from OOT. I've learned an important lesson - NEVER play this game with anyone who is an office worker/typist IRL; you WILL get trashed).

- Halo 2 - I've laid off of it a bit. It's still fun, but all the crap you have to deal with online can be annoying.

- King of Fighters 94' Rebout - been living up the old days playing the regular Neo-Geo mode. I can't wait for my bud in Korea to get home so that he can play it. We used to burn many hours a week playing this.

- Street Fighter Alpha 3 (Saturn) - Working on learning to use Gen's Crane style (3xkick) properly.

Man I think I'm REALLY gonna cry over this Suikoden II talk.

It all started when 5 years ago (I got the game the following Xmas after it came out), my friend kept pestering me into letting him borrow it until he successfully made me a softie. Then he passed it down to his friends which I don't even know, and I never saw it since. I wasn't even near beating the game yet (the last thing I recall doing was gambling with a character that's named after the capital city of my state) and my interest in the rest of the Suikoden series died sadly.

Now I'm really fucked cause nowadays it's one of those games people would kill for, prices jacked up by word of mouth from people, Ebay's brainwashing tactics on value, or cause riots if more than one person found it in the wild.

Hell, Suikoden II achieving holy grail status is so bad that it became a prize for a contest in Tips and Tricks Magazine!

Man I remember the first time I beat Suikoden 1 back in 1997. I'll never forget how blown away I was seeing the Golden Hydra (the final boss) since it was on a 27 in television, which was pretty huge for how old I was back then.

The whole part of the plot that involved Neclord the Vampire and the talking sword was my favorite bit. That pipe organ music is still awesome. In fact I'ma get on Limewire and grab a MP3 of that.

What they should do, is re-release the first 2 of the series in a double disc package for ps2 or some shit. They're not getting any business from Ebay, Ebay is. And if the game goes at such high prices there, I'm sure the game can sell fairly decent.

RPGs for PSX

Valkyrie Profile - My favourite RPG, but has its flaws

Grandia - Excellent combat, fun story.

Star Ocean 2 - Very fun, especially on a second playthrough when you know how to break the game.

Breath of Fire 3 - I liked it a lot, but I don't know why. You might not like it, though.

Shadow Hearts sucks. The game is painful. The story is good, the characters are nice but OMFG the monster designs are AWESOME. I hear covenant is excellent.

For PS2...

Disgaea/Phantom Brave if you like tactical games. Haven't played La Pucelle.

Anyone got a release date on Capcom Fighting Evolution for X-Box? I'm thinking about buying it when it's finally out.

As far as games go, I've got nothing new at the moment, so I've been replaying Brute Force. All in all, a very fun game, but a few things about it here and there really piss me off. Still far better than the poor reviews that it got.

Exploring, walking around. The whole aspect of it. Sailing the seas = retarded. Its so tedious and the battles aren't anything to write home about. It has pirates but its still bleh. The ship is still one of the worst things about the game.

1v1 fights are just rock paper scissors. TOO TOO many random battles. I have to admit, I hated the trinity story thing they used in III but either way, I dislike both of them.

Story feels kinda slow so far and I'm nearly 10hrs in.

still playing gta san andreas. a bit bored with los santos now but still stuck on it. i need to finish cesar's racing mission and big smoke's last mission before i can advance. i HAD that racing mission beat until the last freaking couple of feet where i crashed into the edge of a wall and spun a 180. then every car behind me beat me and i came in 6 place. wtf. i mean i could see the finish line. i was well ahead of all of the other cars. and all of a sudden i couldn't back up and turn around or anything. bull.shit.

i like how driving changes during racing but remains normal during the regular game. hit a poll slow down for .02 seconds normally. during a race? hit a poll, lose control of your car, spin around and pause for about 4 seconds. bull shit.

and during the last big smoke mission, i keep hitting something that makes me explode and i dunno what it is. i'll read a faq on it or something.

Wow, I had no idea Suikoden II went for $120 on E-Bay. I'm almost tempted to sell my copy of the game. I bought the game when it originally came out and never played it until now.

I've started to notice Suikoden III online auctions that are starting to get a bit pricey.

I want to buy Suikoden IV, but there hasn't been a positive review yet. Part III received some decent to rave reviews, though it was totally different from the previous two prequels (which is probably why I a lot of peeps hate it).

I'm like five hours into part II and about to enter Muse after the bandit fortress was invaded.

Somewhat sad news, Sega is calling it quits with their sports line and have sold its sports developerment studio VC off to Take Two.

Technically that really should change much considering VC will obviously still be making games. It still however seems like an end to an era after Sega Sports made its comeback on Dreamcast.

Goku is at level 68 on DBZ Budokai 3 with maxed out attack power (the highest any stat can go is 20.) I wanted to see just how powerful he was, so I fought a level 1 Goku. Even my regular combos were quickly knocking down his health bars. I should have turned on the SS4 juice to see what he could REALLY do. No telling how much damage the 10X Kamehameha would do.

On MvC2, I'm working up my points to buy more stuff. So I'm just leaving the game on in Traning mode. Last time I did that, I racked up over 6000 pts. OK If anyone's familiar with the very first Front Mission, whether you beat the original SFC cartridge, or beat the ROM in English, I got several questions to ask.

1. Is there a way to level up effectively since there's no forfeit/withdraw command you can only fight battles one time? I do understand you gotta also build up your skill in long range and hand to hand combat.

2. Are the Colosseums there for char....er, mech development and racking up Huffman Dollars?

The game is a bit easier than VJ1, actually alot easier. You can whiz through boss battles using Silva just about all the time. The game had its funny moments and alot of chessy moments but it was fun to play.

Im still playing Star Ocean 3. The game is pretty long and can be very challenging. If you have the patience to play the entire game through then it is worth your purchase. I am saying this because after you finished the story of the game you can continue to play tough bonus dungeons.

and matoki - you still got a long way to go... SA is a really fucking long game... get your pistol skills up, or make sure that you kill the drivers faster... theres also a place where you can blow up if you dont shoot the right place I think... I thought that mission was more fun than aggravating...

I finally played DBZ Supersonic Warriors again yesterday. It's been awhile, but I was getting my car's oil changed yesterday, and had the GBA with me to pass the time. My highest powerlevel for the day was 17 million something with Freeza in Z battle mode. I got a rank of 14 million with Piccolo.

my friend got Phantasy Star Online for Xbox recently, despite already having it for GC. So it was me, and him with the wife...the three of us playing some competely "fresh" force characters. Man, starting this game "fresh"....I forgot how rough it was! We died many times. It's just not fun to start with 300 bucks, a useless level 1 mag and a Cane. We were up to level 8 and 9 by the time we got to Caves 3....we switched over to Episode 2 for awhile since it has more item boxes(I think?)...but VR Temple just sucks too much. It may be the worst level in the entire history of videogames. The only good thing I have to say about VRT is that it looked cool back when I first saw it....like some ruins over in Greece while the sun is setting. Too bad the stage goes on FOREVER, and has those horrible dark little maze parts. I still think it looks good, but it's just so boring, and I don't like mazes in videogames.

He has Live, so we played Halo 2 online finally...and I already don't like "Lockout"...particularly when it's an all-swords type of game going on. All-swords+ no motion tracker is lame.

Yeah Gremio dies at the hands of that fruity ass Milich Oppenheimer. But you can get him back. If you get perfect timing on recruiting every single person in the game (that also means keeping Pahn alive after the duel with Master Teo, and no random people get axed during Army vs. Army battles), completing the mural and several other things just in time before the last army vs. army battle, you get him back.

Oh yeah...at one point, it was me, my friend, and his wife all playing Halo 2 on Live that night....there was 1 game we actually won...and that of course was because of this other dude on our team that actually had decent skills. I think he had 35 kills in that particular game, and we at least did "okay" with a few kills here and there...I think I had 10 or 11. It was at Beaver Creek, which so far stands out as my favorite map....BC is kinda easy to learn and remember, and it's just fun.

a woman playing Halo 2....it still strikes me as odd, though I know she plays games regularly with us. It's just that H2 in particular is such a "guy game"....it's a testosterone fest of killin', sniping, and sticking plasma grenades on people's face....but she was right there with us, in kill mode.

I played a demo of a game called Iron Phoenix for Xbox....that game is great...I can't wait 'til it comes out. It's from Sega---true 3d fighting like Powerstone, with nice graphics of course and online play. Apparently 16 people can play this at the same time...and the combat is mostly weapons-based with some magical elements. I'm lovin' it.

I know SMB2 is viewed as the black sheep of the series just like Zelda Ii is viewed asthe ugly step child of the series, but this is classic stuff here. And Toad is still top tier material in this game. But no one beats jumping when it comes to Toadstool/Peach. That float is just pwnage. And since when did Birdo learn to speak? I wanted that game soley for the web-slinging but I couldn't get it. I also couldn't get NES Classic Castlevania on the GBA. What kept me from getting these games? Two things: two Street Fighter 15th Anniversary Contollers. Both were only $14.99 new. I had forgotten about these babies for a long time but when I walked into GameSpot and saw those lovely controllers, I couldn't help myself. So when I left, I had Ken and Chun-Li. The boxes themselves are so awesome, I couldn't bring myself to throw them away. As for actually play on the controls, whoa!! Man, I can't believe how good it is to play on a 6 button controller! The EGM mini-report: (*probably old news to most...but I have given up on going to popular videogame sites for news...it's just too much pain to deal with on 56k. The webmasters load up 20 billion images and Flash animations on just one damn page, and I got tired of dealing with that just to read some text.)

-There is another Hulk game on the way...a GTA rip just like the recent Spiderman! This has strong potential...I just hope it isn't the massive letdown Spidey 2 was, and actually has something we like to call "replay value". (S2 had NO unlockables. Not even a symbiote costume...this is exactly why they didn't get my money at all.)

-the ad for Champions: Return to Arms on page 20 is the hottest ad ever in the history of games. Her ass isn't a big beautiful bubble like Vida G., but damn it's nice.

-SF Anniversary Collection for Xbox comes with SF2 Animated movie...this takes instant priority for me....I only have a few scenes of the movie on an old VHS tape when it came on HBO so many years ago.

-what's the point of Sega Classics Collection? Nostalgia is DESTROYED if you "improve" the visuals. It's like one of my favorites of all time---Ms. Pacman. I would NOT play it if they released a 3d version. I want the real Ms. Pacman in it's most exact form. On the psx Namco disc, I'd turn the tv over on it's side, and flip the image so the proportions were arcade perfect...I did this every time I played....nostalgia demands perfection, not improvement. The only exception to this rule I can think of are the All-Star-ish versions of the Super Mario games on GBA....those are good.

-Phantom Dust looks awesome, and the fact that it has Custom Soundtrack has me sold now.
-Star Fox Assault actually looks good...
-EGM crossword puzzle...piece of cake just like usual.

Playboy mansion is fucken garbage. THe new Tenchu game is frustrating if you want to get perfect rank. Now all I can do is wait for Nanobreaker and a few other things coming out in Feb. Suikoden IV just found a nice home to collect dust

Btw, that Nina Williams game isn't so bad..sorta

I feel like I'm finally getting back into game. I had to go to the hospital last week, so all I've had is time since I'm off of work. I've been playing shit I haven't gotten around to. Just about through with Zelda: The Minish Cap. I finished Onimusha 3, and literally just started Final Fantasy Tactics. I have two days to play until I gotta go to work again, so we'll see what happens.

*edit* Also, does anybody have a copy of Suikoden I they'd sell me? That and the official Final Fantasy Tactics guide?

Preciate it.

Just got a copy of Starfox Adventures and have been playing htat. Seems pretty good to me, though there are a few irritating things. Like the whole cut scene every time you pick up a new item. But all in all, pretty fun. I like playing as Fox on foot, as I've always thought that the Starfox characters were cool, but couldn't play combat flight sims worth crap.

Anyone know if that new Starfox Assualt is a combat flight sim, or on foot, or a mixture?

Starfox Assault, from what I see in my new EGM here, is a mix....there's flying segments and ground battles...and a multiplayer element with tanks, arwings, rocket launchers, etc. This looks more interesting to me than Starfox Adventures.

I have returned...to Phantasy Star Online. "DOOKIEMAN" is now level 103...on the path to eventually donning the Smoking Plate Armour. I'm doing Soul of a Blacksmith quests over and over(just forest to Dragon) to be as efficient as possible in my leveling...cuz it's a long way to level 131...
My friend got PSO on Xbox recently, so we've started on there with fresh characters. I remade "BigNTasty". heh, Big was meant to be an online-only character, and he ended up becoming one of my favorite creations.
On Xbox's HD, you can make 48 characters for this game! :wow: That's the equivalent of using 12 memory cards on Gamecube! I'll never get it though...you can't dupe on there....the shop glitch was fixed, apparently...so that also means you can't bump up your stats however much you want with the shop glitch max-stat trick. I do wish there was an easier way sometimes for duping and maxxing...it can be very annoying sometimes just getting Shop Lady to follow you to the counter. haha...(non-malicious)cheating in PSO is funny.

Just got Japanese GGXX#Reload (PS2) in the mail today. Even though I don't have Swap Magic or a mod chip which means no import access (geez it hurts and angers me to say that), I got it anyway just for decoration, and to add to my GG collection.

That's aight though. Since I get $$$ this Friday, I'm gonna plan a 2 hour trip to get a PS2 flip top mod this weekend.

Ohmygod. The Punisher is fucking vicious.

So far I've burnt off a guy's face with acid, stuck a grenade in another's mouth, then watched him run around and explode, then stuck a guy in an electric eel tank and watched him fry. Not to mention I hid in a coffin of a dead mob guy while the rest of them brought it out into the church as I popped out with my machine gun, mowing down the whole damn family.

Fucking pwned.

Oh snap! The Punisher sounds like high qaulity mayhem. I may have to get that sucker. I'll be waiting for a price drop, though.

I played X-Men Legends today on PS2 with my co-worker/friend Brandon and his friend Justin. Man, that game is TOO good. It reminded me of the old days where you and some buddies were jsut beating the crap outta stuff...with mutant powers. I was freezing fools as Ice Man, Bradon was tearing stuff up as Wolverine and Justin was blasting crap as Cyclops. I can't stress how much fun this game is!! I've got to get it.

I also played Lord of The Rings: The Two Towers for the PS2. That game is one sweet hack & slash fest. Awesome graphics, killer musical score...high difficulty. Now that the game is on the GH l may pick it up sometime.

I got to play some MvC2 with Brandon and Justin as well. I beat Brando, who rocks at this game once. I wasn't so lucky against Justin. But he was impressed by my skill.

BTW, I'd like to send a big thanks out to X-Death for hooking me up with a DC copy of MvC2 with custom music and Guilty Gear X2 for the PS2. They arrived in the mail today. Thanks much, man. You rock.

oh yes....I think I mentioned the demo for it a few pages ago....the violence is QUALITY. You can actually shoot the limbs off guys who are already dead, until there's nothing but a torso left! haha...a guy ends up looking like a bloody butterball turkey...it's great.

I also want either of the recent LOTR games....I'll pass on the 3rd one, as it's some turn-based garbage. Fuck that...hackNslash = real action. Turn-based = sleepy time.

PSO --DOOKIEMAN shall be level 104 tonight....1 more SoaB quest run will do it. I need to refresh my shop glitch-abuse skills too....I don't want to forget how to do it...that's a crucial skill to have in the world of PSO.

 -OH FREAKING SNIZAP!!! THANK YOU, X-DEATH!!-

The custom music track versions of Marvel vs. Capcom 2 you sent me for DC are BRILLIANT!!!!! FREAKING BRIIIIIIIIILLLLLLLLANT!!!! :wow:
I love the techo/rock music on the first disc. The 2nd disc marked "Surprise Edition =)" Had me wondering what could be on it. I couldn't believe my ears when I heard Mega Man music playing in the background. Even better, the music fits the stages. There's nothing quite like kicking the crap outta Strider while listing to Pharaoh Man's theme. You really went out of your way for me, man and I am very grateful. The controls are cake for me on the DC version. I thought I'd have a tough time but not at all. I don't know if I can go back to playing the PS2 version anymore. That's how great a job you've done on these discs. I hope you enjoy your Technic Beat. Thanks again, man.

I've been busy lately so I haven't played too much. Still playing Maple Story. Also beat Soul Blader and moved on to Chrono Trigger. I just got to my favourite part (<3 ZEAL always). I don't think I've ever levelled up so much in this game so much. I figured I would level enough to compensate for my lack of japanese (I imported for sfc if I didn't already mention it). Well I ended up learning Luminaire before Magus. Yeah.

Famicom: Modded Xbox. You can just switch your language in the ms dashboard to korean and play jap #reload (although I think it works with ntsc as well). Most of the korean voices smell with a few exceptions, and you can barely hear the soundtrack (you pretty much have to turn down everything except music then CRANK UP your tv).
X-DEATH blah blah godly as always blah thanks
Haha you're welcome. I just got Technic Beat in the mail today so I guess that worked out pretty well. I actually did that megaman disc almost a year ago (it was my 3rd custom, hence the sloppyness), but it hasn't been used much recently. Then I was like wait a sec... the scrub I'm mailing shit to loves megaman, I should give it to him. So I did.

My ps2 is being loaned out at the moment, but I get it back tomorrow. I shall look forward to making technic beats. Thanks, and enjoy your stuff.

That's wierd, Korea doesn't run on NTSC signal?

I got several questions to anyone who has a flip top mod on their American PS2:

1. If it requires an internal mod chip, will it lockout some American games?

And 2: Can you play *PS1* imports on that?

Right now I'm jumping between GTA2, GTA Vice City and GTA San Andreas.

GTA2- My first experience with old-school GTA. Having a bit of trouble without an in-game map. However, there's always the Internet to fill that gap.

GTA Vice City- I've bought EVERY property in the town and I'm doing the missions for the Club Malibu. I'm stuck on the race with that crazy guy with abandonment issues. >_<

GTA San Andreas- FINALLY! After playing RandomNigga's copy, I'm now playing a copy of my very own! This game is vastly greater than it's predecessors in every possible way! But I've actually restricted myself from playing it too much so I can focus on beating Vice City (one of the few times I've invoked TRUE discipline upon myself).

Maybe I should continue on GTA Advance, too......

Off the subject of GTA, I also beat Viewtiful Joe and am going thru it with Dante (WTF, everyone speaks backwards)!

Just the special torture deaths. Because you're not really supposed to kill them, but you can fuck up or, just decide to anyway. Still, it's pretty fucking great, even in black and white. I just lifted a guy's head into a ceiling fan, ouch.

The quick kills and special deaths are all in color though.

The Punisher sounds like the perfect game for sadists. Gruesome killing and no remorse whatsoever. Sign me up!!

Well I unlocked all the characters for the PS2 version of MvC2. Now I'm gonna work on my DC versions while I listen to the sweet techo/Mega Man tunes. Now that I've put in 3 plus hours with the DC version, I think I have to say that it really is better than the PS2 version. Far lex pixilazation on the characters and the tagging is far more consistent. When I hit the trigger button, those fools pop in on the dot!! My buddy Brando will flip over the Mega Man tunes.
