Right now I'm playing Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga. This game is so much fun. I'm glad Luigi didn't get the shaft and get left out like he did in Super Mario RPG and Paper Mario. Speaking of Paper Mario, I think M&L owns this game. Not only is the combat much more fun than PM's but gameplay outside of battles is also a blast. Right now my plumbers are nearly at level 20 ands I'm more than 11 hours into the game. I'm also playing Street Fighter EX+@.

Sonic Heroes. Still not sure I'll ever get all chaos emeralds without having to cheat.:( This sucks because you HAVE to get all chaos emeralds to fight the true final boss.

A few years from now...Super Mario will compete against Sonic the Hedgehog at the Olympics. Yeah, there will be a game about it. Aint that some bullshit? Crazy. We're supposed to believe Mario can actually compete against Sonic in some track and field events? Sorry, not buying it. Future POSTTTTTTTTTTT! YEAH.

Sword of Mana: Sucks ass. Leveling up in it is frustrating and most of the side quests or assignments are too abstract to really keep the flow of the game going. You have to really take your time, and I'm the type of person who does take my time.

The helper AI is postively retarded, not knowing how to avoid anything, and the menu system is agrivating at best. To switch weapons and sprits, you have to essentially pause battle for a good 5 seconds to get things straight, not to mention that every enemy is weak to a certain weapon, one of which you have to cycle through about a dozen weapons to find out which is the most effective. For boss battles, it is postively pathetic, especially when your partner has nothing useful at all to contribute, they are better off dead.

a bad game, unless you can stand a total stop and go distruption in gameplay, it's otherwise a good game.

Oh now that does suck. I hate it when developers pull that "let's make gamers collect extra crap just to fight the real final boss" garbage. As an extra mission, sure, but as the main focus? No, thanks.:lame:

Drakengard. I like the game when I can kill the enemies with my sword or jump on the dragon and fireball them to death, but if its just a straight dragon mission I dislike the game, but I will keep on going until its done.

Oh that game rocks! Chain combos, beautiful visuals, a sweet musical score. Too bad it ended far too soon. Only 5 levels! :( Still, the game is excellent and you play it again and again and again and again............:)

Just beat Dark Alliance 2 on Hard mode with Ysuran, the necromancer. Gonna go for it on extreme with Vhaidra the drow monk.

*SPOILER*

I'm kinda upset at how easy Mordoc SeLenmere was, tho, after getting the spells from the necromancer's epic quest. Shadow Spray really tore him up. Hopefully, as a different char in extreme mode, he'll be a bit more difficult.

Final Fantasy Tactics Advance. Great game, but I really don't care for the judge system at all. It just adds a bunch of speedbumps in the gameplay and is really irritating. Not too crazy about the way you learn skills. Other than that I love it, quality game.

I am going on a gaming binge this weekend after a hard week of weightlifting and work.

I plan on restarting and playing through:
(In order of priority)

1)Vagrant Story:evil:
2) Resident Evil Directors Cut (yes the ps version)
3) Resident Evil 2 Demo Disk
4) Mega Man X4

Wish me luck, I have a feeling Vagrant story is gonna eat all my time.

Mega Man X4 was such a pain for me to beat. Guess I just didn't like the transition from snes to playstation. I started a "new" game of Final Fantasy 8 and I wanted to see how much I could complete of the game without a guide. Just trying to find 100% of everything and get as strong as possible. That was a year ago though, but I'm on disc 3, guess I'll dust it off and pick up where I left off Saturday.

I agree with you 100%. I hated X4 when it first came out. His sprite was too big and the game felt super cheap. The whole flow of the X series changed and it pissed me off. But I got x5 and I enjoyed that so I go the urge to go back and try to give x4 a shot. It was fun but I got annoyed at the final boss and didnt play it again. So I am going to give it another chance this time around.

I hadn't played the game when it was new but what with the Xbox release I though I'd go back and give it a shot.

It's total shit. Take everything I loved about the first game and get rid of it. Take all the things they fucked up in the second game and make 'em worse. Take the few things that are slight improvements in the second game and leave them out too.

And one of the worst fuckin things is the sound.:bluu:

Vagrant Story- Had this game when it firs came out and still haven't finished it. I just keep putting it off.
Legend of Legai
Chrono Cross- Unopened
Final Fantasy 9- Unopened
Valkarie Profile- Unopend
Final Fantasy 10- Unopend
Final Fantasy 10-2- Un opend
Tenchu 2- Pretty far in this one. I got it when it fist came out and I have played it in like 3 years.
Kingdom hearts- Just got it a week ago and I'm at about 6 hours in.

There are a few more, but I can't remember what they are. The worst part about it is that I play Final Fantasy Tactics every single day for at least 4+ hours. What the hell is up with that.

Oh man, you don't even want to see the boxes I have that are filled with unfinished games. Tehn I have a shelf of unopend games such as:

Dragon Warror VII
Skies of Arcadia
Chu Chu Rocket
GTA Vice City
The Sims
Star Fox Adventures
Need For Speed: High Stakes
Mega Man Battle Network 2-3
Advance Wars

Oh yeah, I almost forgot about my vice city. I got it when it first came out and the only reason it got any playtime is because a friend of minds fired it up. We took turns playing it at that time. I did like one mission, fooled around with the cars, killed a few inocent people and haven't played it since. I then let him borrow it and he finished it like in a week or to. But you want to here the bad thing about our situation. We've got the nerve to sit around when we're bored complaing about we have nothing to do. Oh there's plenty to do allright, how about playing one of those damn games. BTW I do plan on getting a GBASP with pokemon sapphire and Pokemon Coliseum. Will I play it for more than an hour? Who knows, but at least I'll have it.:D Right now it's just April and I have every intention of finishing up all those games before the year is out. I have to admit that I plan on using a game shark to be Vagrant Story because its too damn complicated mixing wepon parts and the game is difficult as fuck. This will be one of the first games that I have to cheat to beat. Oh well. Maybe if we didn't waste so much time on SRK we'd actually get some games done. I still haven't played Devil May Cry or any of the Omnimusha series and I want to really bad. I just got Splinter Cell, Prince of Persia and Residen Evil ZERO. I played Prince of Persia for about 15 min. I enjoyed it what little time I did play it. Put it on the back burner like I do all the other games and my friend who's at my house now is like 6 hours into it. I don't mind though, as far as I can see I'm playing the game through him. Oh, did I mention that I still haven't beaten Wind Waker yet?

Breath of Fire III
Splinter Cell

Probably play halo on xbconnect the most. The regular game is great. I still cant believe they delayed part 2 till fall...bastards.

BoFIII is hella fun. splicing genes to make different types of dragons is a challenge sometimes, but i dont have many genes yet. i saw what my friend was making, and all i have to say is:

I tried to warn you guys...I played it on emulator before making a judgement, and God, am I glad I didn't blow 40 bucks on that crap. Any RPG where the final boss dies in 30 seconds without ANY special weapons or training is worthless. :wtf: And the ending wasn't too hot, either.

Playing P.N.03, and honestly it's a highly under rated game. It's a lot of fun, great graphics, chick's ass bouncing all over the place, not highly challenging...until you get to Level 9. It's a bit repetitive but it's a really fun game to play.

On MMX4, the final boss is actually not too hard at all. espically with Zero. Use flame on the first part, and you'll whip his ass. With X himself, charge up flame and hit him one good time and he dies. Second part, use electricity, and third part, take tyour time. Ground Hunter helps a lot there.

And on Ex+ Alpha, I'm stuck on Bisons last expert mode one and one other. all the others I've done.

The fact that the final boss was Sigma YET A FUCKING AGAIN was what really broke the broke the final straw. God how I am sick of his ugly ass. Could they really not come up with something a lil more creative than a pansy with a light sabre that jumps wall to wall in every game. Okay, maybe not every game, but it sure feels like it. Now with this new direction the X series is going in, Capcom has begun hammering in the final nail for Mega Man. Owell.

Possible spoilers (so I'll color it the way you did):

the "true" Kaiser (that still is controllable) is obtained with Infinity+Radiance+Trance. It's not as powerful as the much cheaper Myrmidon (Warrior+Trance, I think), IMO.

What I'm playing right now:

SSBM: I have three other people I play this with at least once a week or so. Still fun to this day.

Sacred: An awesome PC RPG, especially since you can edit the censored US version to have all the gore of the original UK version. The character class list includes some real unique gems, like the Seraphim and Vampiress. I still love the Battle Mage, though; powerful attacks, decent sword/staff attacking skills, and he can heal himself; he's like a male Lina Inverse.

Diablo 2 LoD: I play this off and on, but have been losing interest lately.

Sonic Heroes: Finished it a long time ago, but trying to get all A-rank. I don't know if I'll ever reach that goal, though...

Dam im suprised I have barely seen anybody talk about war games. I mean shit if anybody is looking for a serious challenge play Operation Flashpoint for computer. That shit is serious. Its not the most fun game unless you have a really good computer. I mean really good, but some of the player made mods rival anything thats out there right now and some of it is years ahead of its time. Even if you have a super quick connection it takes hours to download the extras from sites all over the world but in itself its pretty much a completely adaptable and infinitely expandable game and caters to all personalites unless your the type of person who needs little japanese cartoons jabbing at your eyes. Personally I prefer being in the middle of large scale battles with thousands of infantry, rockets, mines, tanks, atomic bombs, planes and basically every friggin weapon thats made made in the past 50 or so years by almost every country. If the only reason you dont play FPS is because you dont want to be trendy, then play this game. Thousands of dollars in computer upgrades is preffered though. The best part is that it is a very international game online where you can play people in japan using japanese weapons against people in europe using all those crazy euro weapons and you can be the big loud american who flies around in his helicopter and blows them all up. Badass shit.

True that, I thought Iris should've been the final boss, for X or Zero. They both could've killed Colonel's candy ass, she'd still go nuts...you get the picture. Plus, nothing would've been more satisfying than a plasma beam to that bitch's head...

I'm playing Champions of Norrath. It's a great game , but some of the bugs lurking within it's depths can be a HUGE FRUSTRAITION.

I've had to restart the game a couple of time because of randomly teleporting npc dwarves , stupid unopenable doors , and retarded ass shopkeepers thinking two items were one.

A very Solid RPG hack and slash adventure , finding new armor and getting my Cleric ( with teh TITTAHS ) better is like crack at times.

I want to play it online and posse up , too bad I can't use a network adaptor.

I got FF: CC the other day and stopped playing it after about 5 minutes. What the hell is Nintendo on ?, where can I get it ?, and why did Square take some ? I'll go into detail if anyone wants to know.

MMX4 is one of my fav X games. Sigma was tough for me to beat both as X and Zero, but all those times I kept trying paid off and I finished the game with both of them. Then a few years ago I went through the game as Zero and beat it in a matter of hours. Oh and about Sigma. Sigma is basically the Wily of the X games. No matter how many times you smack him up, he just keeps coming back. I knew right from the start when I saw a reploid talking to a "mysterious" maverick in a clock that I'd be tangling with Sigma AGAIN.

And about BOFIII, yes, that game rocks. I loved gene splicing to creat different dragons and the animation for transformations was tight. The music was also quite good. I wouldn't mind having the soundtrack.:) If there was anything about the game I hated it was that dumb "Desert of Death" puzzle. Man, I think it took me DAYS to get past that.

I worked my way through EX+@ with Dhalism today but got my butt kicked when I played Arcade mode with Sakura but got school. I think Sakura's being short really hurts her in this game, or at least it does for me. I mean, she's still one of my fav fighters just as she was in the 2D SF games but I may have to be even more agreesive with her if I want to make it through arcade mode with her.

Too many games to play.

well now its the weekend, and summer will be here soon, so -should- have nothing to do and have all my free time to complete them :D

as for wasting a small fortune, alot of them are bought bare cart only, no box or anything, used (which is usually alot cheaper) and Pockemon Ruby and Bomberman Jetters are ROMs anyways.

as for the ps2 games, they were all bought used or just burned.

now that i think about it I hardly ever buy games new (the exceptions being Onimusha 3 & FF Crystal Chronicles)

I'm really behind on things here...
Legend of Zelda Wind Waker --STILL on the first castle level where Link must find his sword.
True Crime - still just on the first mission where you can do what you want. I stopped here, because it's just too fun to cruise around doing random shit to innocent people, and stopping random crimes.

Prince of Persia--didn't get far...I think I left off where Prince meets that hot broad for the first time, and is chasing after her...

Ikaruga --don't think I'll EVER beat it. I don't care what anyone says about "hardcore", the developers went overboard on this shit. I don't remember games ever being this hard at all. Even Ninja Gaiden 1....NG was only borderline impossible because of one jump situation.

Phantasy Star Online --only because it can never truly be completed. At least...not the legit way:p Even cheating doesn't kill the experience...at least not for me. I'll pick up an Action Replay soon for even more fun...actually, there's no telling how long this game will last...especially since a few people actually set up their own servers! (yep...that means Dreamcast PSO has been resurrected!!!LOLLLL this thread is old as hell.)

Hitman 2-- never got past the first mission. It's a great game; I just have too many other games, and not enough time for them all. I forgot I even had this game.
-------------------
and tons of Xbox games...cuz I don't have Xbox yet. I hear rumor of a price drop around e3...perhaps that will be my time...

that's crap...it can't be true:mad:

I remember I had one for 1 day. That's kind of a long-winded story that ends with me being extremely pissed off, and forever avoiding a certain "friend".

--on a sidenote...it sucks that I will just end up using an Action Replay(bought for PSO) to get to fight the true last boss of Sonic Heroes. They really made the process of getting the emeralds too damn frustrating. I have 4 out of the 7, and I'm sure that 7th one (*I have the 1st three, and the last one)was pure luck. Beating the game with all 4 teams should be enough to face the real last boss....not actual collection of the emeralds.

Still, I gotta rank Sonic Adventure 2 as the toughest Sonic game ever made. Those item hunt stages just made me want to smash something all the time. Knuckles' under water stage was the worst of all, and I didn't even know about his underwater breathing powerup until AFTER I miraculously made it through.
I ended up smashing the SA2 game disc with a hammer one day.(due to unbelievable cheating from the final boss though...not item hunt)

Woo hoo! I'm finally done with EX+@, beating Arcade mode with all the fighters, even the four hidden fighters (used a code to unlock them). The Clcliod fighters are an interesting pair. Beta is my fav of the two. Seems to be a combination of Ryu/Ken and some other fighters. I'm glad I finally finshed the game with all fighters, but I really did enjoy my time with EX+@. Wish me luck on finding a copy of EX2+.

I'm still working on Mario & Luigi but I haven't played it in days. Was too occupoed with EX+@. Enemies are finally give me 30+ EXP and good cash so saving money isn't a problem for me anymore.

Ever since I started my very own Megaman discussion thread, and ppl like The Damned, Remy Saotome and fishje was there alot, the Megaman fan I once was half a decade ago had made a big comeback.
After 3 months, I finally beat Rockman and Forte (SFC). 4 days ago I beat it for the first time with Megaman, and just earlier today, I did it with Bass. Didn't get many CD's though. What's the use of the CD's if you can't read Japanese?

Now I'm attempting Megaman X7, and that Lava Hyena or something like that had me on the floor cracking up!

BURN! BURN! BURN! BURN!

Nice to see some BOFIII love going on here. It was one of my fav games in 1998. I still need to play my copy of BOFIV. I'll get around to it sometime.

I'm still working on Mario & Luigi but I needed another game to go along with playing that. My friend Lucas suggested Prince of Persia while I was talking to him on PM. I really thought about starting Splinter Cell (the first one) but he told me PoP should only take me about 7-8 hours to finish. So I think I'll play PoP.

I played some KOF '99 this morning. It is really going to take some getting used to. The button commands are pretty similar to SF but I still seems odd for me to be playing a 2D fighter that many characters have been familiar with for years, but I hardly know them. Well if I've played SF I can surely play KOF '99.

I just rented Rainbow six 3 for PS2.
Goddam that game is good.
Its really realistic. It sort of feels like What GRAND THEFT AUTO should be like if it goes to 3-D. This game is seriously scary how realistic it is sometimes. Of course it helps if you smoke magical herbs first. Major adrenaline in this game. This game is totally worth buying.

Yo *InVeRs3* if you bought Socom 2 then get as much money as you can for it and buy Rainbow Six 3. If your talking about Socom 1 then keep it, but IMO, Two is not that good Even for online playing.
Rainbow Six 3 is PS2 best shooter IMO. This shit is like Golden eye and Grandtheft Auto put together. The first two missions are not that impressive, then there is bad ass oil refinery and then you half to go into a house Tony Montana style. just gets better and better. The AI are pretty sharp too.

Continuing the "games you have'nt completed" theme, I have got pretty far in the following games, but due to drop-off in interest or the console being hidden in loft, I have yet to finish them:

Breath Of Fire 2 - I have got all the way to the final dungeon, but have'nt entered it yet. Pisses me off that my united characters will probably be killed in the final dungeon by cheap one-hit attacks, because I have all the shamans, and have made the best possible combinations.

Super Mario RPG - This game had too much wandering around for my liking, and even though the battle system is well implemented, the whole game seems to "kiddy" for my liking. I guess if Landstalker and FF7 are the first RPG's you have ever played (and completed!), then you will have high expectations.

Chrono Trigger - Now I know this will attract alot of flak from die-hard CT fans, but I've fallen out of love with this game. The Rubble/boss orb trick makes it majorly broken, right now I'm 1/5 of the way through the Black Omen, and ALL my chars (including Magus) have ALL techs (doubles + triples) PLUS I have a bad habit of charming rare armor/items from enemies, then exiting the room and respawning them, so I can charm from them again!

Super Metroid - Just like Revenge Of Shinobi, this has an IMPOSSIBLE jump in the middle of one of the levels. Shit just ruined it for me.

Metal Gear Solid 2 - I have actually finished this game (rushed through to see the ending), and am playing through the second time. But this time, i'm collecting ALL the dog tags, so i have to be a lot more careful (no-kills). I'm currently 1/4 of the thru Raiden's section. I hated the bit with him running around naked (still funny to see an armed soldier getting owned by a naked guy with one hand covering his balls  )

Gran Turismo 3 - I won every single race up until the Turbo Challenge, then get placed third in the Test Course Race, of all things. Kinda annoying when you've got Gold medals in all the other races. Guess my good ol' modded Mazda MX-7(j) just is'nt good enough. Click here (http://www.shoryuken.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=57192) for more details.

Splinter Cell - Because of my MGS2 stealth obsession, I'm trying to do a "no-kills" policy throughout the whole game. It's not easy in the latter part of the game, when simply opening a door will guarantee a hail of bullets coming your way.

Final Fantasy Tactics Advance - The Steal ability is way broken in this game. Some of my characters are so over-powered, it's not even funny. My Marche is currently a Ninja/thief with doublesword and strikeback abilities - this basically means that any time he is attacked, he attack will AUTOMATICALLY miss, and Marche will counterhit the enemy twice instead! Reached mission 21 " Materite Now! " then got bored with stupid CPU unit walking straight towards enemy party :wtf:

Advance Wars 2 - Damn good game, partly spoiled by the odd extremely hard mission. I want an S rank in every mission, dammit! Have completed Orange Star and Blue moon campaigns, currently halfway thru Yellow Comet.

Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga - Got pissed off with advance wars 2, so fired this up as a diversion. Have'nt even reached the first boss yet (:o),so can't say much but it looks like it's going to be good. The critical hit timing is way off from Super Mario RPG, though.

I am currently wasting my life with Fire Emblem. This game seems way too easy after the headaches of advance wars. I like the way units can change classes and morph when they level up. Kinda reminds me of FFTA. Currently at mission 10, will beat it tonight.

Well Metal Shark Player is dead. The Nightmare actually helped me out by changing up the stage so I didn't have to do that dumb long jump area, but instead another junkyard smasher area. I wasn't complaining even though I died a few times. MSP was cake to beat. The only maverick to get under my skin was Infinity Mejilion. What exactly is a IM anyway? I'm puzzled.

You think that's broken? Wait until you get an Ex-2 (Excalibur 2, for those who don't play). Holy Blade with that thing=999 to anyone, unless the guy using it REALLY sucks. Fighter + Paladin= no one surviving.

Assassins are damn broken too; movement of like 7 or 8, high speed, instant KO, and the "Ultima Masher", which hits for around 700 HP once an assassin is around lv. 35 or so. In addition, you can add "Half MP" from Summoners to make it take only 30 MP, and the instant kill only takes like 8 MP or something unholy like that. An assassin with an Acacia Hat is something you don't screw with, unless you're the aforementioned Fighter/Paladin.

Good for you, support the Gamecube, it's a damn good system. :) And if you still want to give Capcom some cash while you play Smash Bros. Melee, buy Viewtiful Joe. It's an excellent game.

BTW, avoid Gamefaqs like the black plague (what else is new) if you end up looking for Smash discussion online. If you want some insight, try www.smashboards.com. Just don't get caught up in who's the "best" (a lot of people who play Smash Bros. do) and have fun with it. It lasts a long time before getting old.

There was a Metal Slug game scheduled for GBA...is it out yet?

-Sonic Heroes = no longer a problem. I got all three remaining emeralds this past saturday night, and beat the real final boss. The final sequence to this game is outstanding....it's certainly better than the final parts of both Adventure games.(*except regarding plot...SA2 is superior in that regard.)

-------
So now, it's back to Phantasy Star Online and Viewtiful Joe for me. I would play more Smash Bros.Melee, but I still have nobody to play against. Beating the AI got stale quite awhile ago. In PSO---I must continue my adventures now as MASON; a maxed out HUmar based on the legendary character from Fox's 24.(*greatest damn show on tv.) "Chojin" continues his trek towards level 152 for Aura Field usage. I'm in the future playing Devil May Cry 4, bitches! How does that jealousy taste!? Ohhhhhh so good, right?

Oh yeah...I got to actually play some more "Roadkill" too. I haven't played more than a couple of minutes of it. I posted a thread about it last week or so when I bought it, but apparently....either nobody in SRK heard of the game....or nobody cares about it.

XBOX PRICE DROP!!!!!--> it's $150 now, while Ps2 is still *hee hee* $180.:p Sooooooo I may actually pick up an Xbox very soon.

*boy...imagine how bad the people feel who just bought one about a week ago. It's not a huge difference, but still...that's gotta at least hurt a little bit to drop 180something on a system, and in a matter of days the price goes down 30 bucks.

Oh and he it acts like a punk-sissy because he keeps his dumb shields up enarly ALL THE TIME. Did we mention he's isn't always easy to dodge?" Feh. If I see High Max appear in another MM game or anywhere esle, heads will roll, Capcom. YOUR heads will roll, Capcom. :bluu:

Sacred continues to get better and better, but my Battlemage has anger management problems. I tried to use (but failed, of course), another class's skill item for him to learn, and he was all but outraged, telling me angrily that he's a FUCKING MAGE, DAMMIT, and that HE WOULDN'T USE NO SISSY WOOD ELF ARROW SKILL! FOOLISH USER, PLAY THE GAME GOODER! These weren't his exact words, but it was pretty close. I only tried once. Geez.

The Sonic Heroes emblem hunt continues. Slow and steady. I don't think there's an all rank-A emblem (someone PLEASE correct me if I'm wrong), so I'm taking things easy. The easiest second emblems seem to be Team Rose and (surprisingly) Team Dark. The other two teams will be near impossible for me, I know it.

I finally finished the Wind Waker. Nothing beats them light arrows; one hit kill on just about anything in a huge explosion of light. Too cool. Now to finally finish Metroid Prime.

Despite the fact that I suck at it, I'm trying to find MvC2 for the DC. I'm looking for an excuse to hook the damn thing up again. Oh, does anyone know if there are component cables for the DC?

I'm done...

I'm also considering buying Symphony Of The Night as well; I know its old, but I heard it was a grand game.

No I didn't get past him. The one time I have to fight that punk and Capcom makes him nearly impossible to kill. I use X with the Blade Armor because Zero doesn't have a chance with his crappy low health.

Well since MMX6 ticked me off so much, I played some WipeOut Fusion with cheats. Man, have infinite shield and infinite weapons rocks.:D

X + Ultimate Armor = High Max owned.

But if you don't use it, then it's tough as hell. I recall having to alternate your X-Buster with Z-Saber slashes once the damn shield is down, but I'm not totally sure since I only rented the game.

Ah. Since you described him having shields I'm assuming you're fighting him in the last stage, and not in one of the initial eight levels.

Blade Armor X can delay his air dash. Stick to the opposing wall as high as possible, and when he prepares to charge you, jump off and delay an air dash forward. Dash the moment he charges; you should get above him.

While waiting for his charge, you can either pepper one shield with single shots or charged shots. Once it goes down, charge-shot High Max then hit him with a special weapon (I find the flame saber easiest). Repeat until dead.

Rarely, High Max will break his pattern, go to the middle of the screen, and start firing orbs at you like mad until you die or he does. At this point, he's VULNERABLE; finish him quickly.

ZERO: Zero can beat High Max without taking damage. Zero has to do things in reverse; first hit with a Special attack, then a normal slash. HOWEVER, the rapid spin-slash move (which I THINK is down+the saber button) counts as BOTH. Jump VERY SLIGHTLY off the ground (like Air Hyper Viper Beam "slightly") and use the rapid spin slash twice quickly. You'll have to position yourself so High Max doesn't fall on you, but you should have this down in no time. Seriously, High Max is a joke to Zero once you discover this.

HOWEVER, note that you CANNOT save until you beat the stage following High Max and a (potentially) much more infuriating boss, Gate...

EDIT - Oh, yeah, and don't pick normal X or Shadow X for this stage either. Shadow X can punk High Max easily but thanks to Capcom's lazy game design, X/Shadow X CANNOT clear a jump in the following stage...

That's one of the reasons I don't play X6, and I love Mega Man games...there's a lot of blind jumps in which you can't see what is below you, and certain jumps that X can't clear, and that is TOTALLY unforgivable.

I just started on the Ellia level, and I'm going to try to finish that tonight (just got my broken sword repaired).

Raiden Project - I'm able to get up to the 5th stage on "Colonel". They throw some crazy shit at you, but once you get the purple toothpaste laser maxed, it's over for them. :) I wonder what it's like on "General".

Gradius Gaiden - I've made it to the 3rd Stage so far. If anyone has a chance to pick this up, do so! Classic arcade play, and you can select from 4 ships.

Does anyone here still play Thunderforce III, or IV (Lightening Force) on the Genesis? I'm thinking about trying to go back and beat those also.

SuperPunch Out

Name: ippo
weight:180
type: HeavyWeight
style: Button mash/counter
colors: (dont know! only can see his torso)

After blazing through the minor league, with a 4 - 0 record, I started to get a little cocky. I mean 2 TKO and 2 knockouts i was beggining to feel myself. The minors were a joke at best. with my crazy button mashing skills combined with my last second counter knock outs i was sure i was going straight to the top with out a loss.
The matches of the major was average, the guys fight really shady, Combinations are really weak but they all seam to have some cheesy ass moves. I took down the rasta in under a minute in the first round. I end up completeing the majors with a 4-2 record.
But my path comes to a screeching hault when i remember my next opponent is a beast. Fucking Kagero, this guy is so broken its ridiculous. Ive gotten my ass beat by a tranny all week with no hopes of even getting a TKO and i refuse to cheat. Kagero has way to many combinations to remember plus the added bonus of his/her shadow technique into random combo, plus the double whip hair move and finally i swear to god that his throwing feints into his combinations. Its started to piss me off cause as soon as i think i know what he is coming with he changes up on me and when he is low on life he repeatedly abuses the shadow shit and pummels my champion.
But i will never stop trying to whip his gay ass, i will be champion and the rode to a title match will be conquered.

I cannot believe I forgot Super Punch Out. Best rental game ever.

The hair freak pummeled me too. I don't remember exact strats but I know that if the hair gives you trouble you're going to have a rather tough time later against Super Macho Man.

EVERYTHING in that game, though, gave you some advance warning. The fastest OHKO move the CPU throws out is still preceded by a twitch or change in their appearance. Watch carefully, then react. Since I don't remember the exact patterns too well, that's all I can say.

Note that you cannot get the "true" ending (which isn't all that great) without a 16-0 PERFECT record. But don't do it; it's not worth the effort, believe me...

Currently playing through GTA: Vice City for ps2. Started playing it way back when it came out and never finished. Probably cause Metroid Prime came out.

Honestly, aside from the bikes being in Vice City, I think I like GTA3 better. Like the no-personality main character better, the actual city better, and the people you worked for better. *shrug*

Hell I thought Super Punch Out was a worthy buy back in the day. I played that game a lot.

Kagero is a pretty weird character, the one move you should really look out for is his hair move. You gotta remember to dodge to the left on the inital start of it and Duck when he comes back around. After that hit him with a right jab to stun him and punish that asshole for trying that freaky move on you. His 'special' combinations of jabs is exactly the same every single time. I can't remember if he has 1-2 of these diffrent combinations, but just remember what gesture he does before he does the move and memorize his punches. Next time he does it, you can easily block it and punish. No character on SPO has random 'rush downs' from what I remember.

Back to X6... I don't know if I can go back and play that game. Seriosuly, I'm so ticked off with it. And the amount of cheap hits regular enemies can score on you is ridiculous. I like X6 but is has some serious flaws, which for a Company like Capcom, is just inexcusable.

All of the artifacts turn him into a zombie. The artifact you choose only determines a later boss and who the big bad is.

Well I've got the PS2 version and it rocks. I need to play it again. The last I left off I was having trouble getting past level 4. I paid $20 for the game at Best Buy back in 2002. Glad I picked it up because I haven't seen a copy since.

I've played the hell out of Serious Sam, and I love them. Hell, I'd recommend them to anyone looking for a fun game. If you've ever played Multiplayer, it's even better.

I've beaten both PC titles, then I beat the X-Box compilation, then I started on them again! :D

Currently playing: WarioWare, Mega Party Game$ for GC.

Great party game, crappy single player. There could've been more, though. Only buy it if you have two or three more buddies to play it with; it is NOT worth it alone.

Sacred: I made my first combo. I dunno how much I like combos; recharge time is exponentially increased, it seems. (For those wondering, there's no MP or anything in Sacred; you can cast as much as you like but different spells/skills/combos have different recharge times.)

I'm going to re-play X7 and try to beat MMZ2 as well. I hear MMZ3 should be out soon...

I don't think anyone answered this already, but... Story-wise SH3 has to do with SH1, and uses the town from SH2 a little. I don't think SH2 has anything to do with SH1.

I really lucked out today when I went looking for some games to buy. I found Lunar and Lunar 2 used. Lunar 2 was $40 and the original Lunar was $29. Lunar 2 came with most of the stuff like the music CD, making of CD, map, etc. Whatever the Omake thing was, however, wasn't there. Oh well. Lunar 1 only came with the Making of Lunar as an extra but its the game I'm more concerned about. Finally, my quest for two super rare titles has ended.:D

I have all of those games you mentioned. Got FFT when it was rereleased and got SOTN back in early 2001 new for less than $30. Talk about a deal.:)

BTW for anyone getting ticked off at their games as of late, here's some advice: When throwing your controller, throw it in the air. That way when it hits the floor it won't land as hard like it does when it gets slammed.

I think I'm going to get back to playing GTAIII. I bought a strategy guide for the game for $1.99 at Funcoland. When I left off I was stuck on some mission where 8-Ball goes inside some ship and plants some bombs while I do some snipping. That's the toughest mission I've come across yet. Wish me luck!:D

W00T! I got past that dumb mission with 8-Ball thanks to my Brady Games Strategy Guide. I can't believe all I had to do was snipe the suckers from left to right. That mission was so easy. Now I'm in a new city. I'm not quite familiar with it yet so for now I'm just crusing around causing all sorts of chaos.:D

Well after I failed a mission in GTAIII my game wouldn't load!! GRRRRRRR!!!!!!! I had access to the whole city and everything and was loaded with cash! So I said forget it and started playing Vice City. I like VC but man does it seem to start out slow. Low pay for jobs, don't have a ton of heavy artilerly, haven't seen a great deal of cool cars, etc. However, I love the '80s music (one of the reasons I bought the game) and I love the whole Miami '80s atmosphere. Still, I really don't see the reasons for VC scoring 10s and 9s. Maybe I need to dive deepert into the game and play more.

Megaman Zero 2 is raping me rather badly. So I took a break and started on Metroid Zero Mission.

Believe it or not, I never played the original Metroid. Or Metroid 2. Every other one, I've played and loved. So Zero Mission is like 100% new content for me.

It seems to play a little faster than Super Metroid and Metroid Fusion. Also, you can wall-jump repeatedly off the same wall, allowing you to take some decent shortcuts if you mess around in certain areas.

It's fun... but I already beat Kraid and Ridley in a little over an hour and a half... I'm wondering how much more is left...

Right now I'm playing Street Fighter Collection (Super Street Fighter II Turbo) on the PS1. Though my heart eternally lies with Street Fighter II Turbo, Super Turbo is pretty solid when judged on her own merits. Too bad she was just pretty minor as an update, released in a time when Capcom had already upgraded the same damn game 3 previous times. Though what I really liked about this collection was the inclusion of Street Fighter Alpha 2 Gold, as I never picked up the original PS1 version of SFA2.

I've also been playing Final Fantasy Tactics. Another really fun game. Though the enemy is always way too overpowered. Having to fight random battles to get your squad's jobs up to par to compete was a bitch. And though the plot has one the finest villain in the series, overall the characters are really bland and the plot, though not truly incomprehensible, is a bit hard to follow. Whether Matsuno, SCEA, or both are to blame I'm still debating though. As I said, it's a great game, though it's definitely the farthest FF from my heart as far as the PS1 games go.

I heard that MMZ2 was TOUGH. It dropped to $20 so I'm gonna pick it up sometime.

As for the Metroid games, they are excellent. I beat Fusion a few months ago and loved it. One of my online buddies told me that Zero Mission was a bit low on bosses so I don't think it is as long as Fusion.

Me, I've been playing a lot of Vice City as of late... with the cheats. (No flames, please) I like it, but all these two lane streets have got to go! I suppose its because VC is supposed to represebt Miami, but man, I miss the four lane roads of GTAIII. Also I miss getting money just for causing chaos. In GTAIII if you blew up a car, you were rewarded for it. Oh well. One mission had me offing some punk on a golf course. That sucker did not wanna die. I had to chase him down. I had gotten rid of all the golf carts, so he had no choice but to run. Instead of hitting him with my rocket launcher, I got into a golf cart I found and ran that fool over.:D

Mario & Luigi: Good grief, I don't know what Mario sees in that hoe, Peach. I practically had to baby sit that broad when I went into Tee Hee Valley. If she was off screen she got kidnapped by monsters. You know how many times I had to rescue that trick? TOO MANY FREAKIN' TIMES!!! I have never been so happy to see a save point!!

GTA: Vice City: Man, am I loving this game. The musis is superb and the story is very interesting. There are tons of different ways to do things in this game. For instance, I was driving a sucky car and saw a nice-looking bike that I wanted. Now normally when I steal a car on the road that happens to be driving, I just pull my car in front of it, stop, throw the poor sap out, get in and drive off. Well when I pulled up in front of the bike, it stopped for like 1 second and then drove off! The nerve!! So I tailed the two on the bike for a short distance and ramed those muthas! Those idiots flew off that bike, it was hilarious! I then got on my new bike and rode off into the sunset.:D

I'm playing Xenogears again, and I'm once again at the end. Xenogears (the robot itself) is so badass...This time around however, Fei was at level 80 in the first disc, due to some training in Shevat's lower levels. Yamikei + Power Crisis = 10,000 HP damage per turn, and NOTHING survives. I seriously doubt people who say Citan is the strongest character have ever gotten that move... Anyway, at Solaris I killed Grahf in one shot, and then let Citan pound on Miang's ass. Then I got to the second disc which is meh, but oddly enough didn't bother me as much as it used to. I love that game. :)

I'm also working with FFX-2, but I'm holding off on that game until I print out the 100% guide. I will never, EVER side with anybody that has "Yevon" in their title, so playing through twice and choosing both sides to get the 100% won't work for me.

BTW, Ryu Hayabusa is the man. But I'm not really a fan on the new one, except for when he's in DOA as the legendary 23 year-old badass who has already killed everybody and gotten together with Irene (or rather, Aileen in DOA), and not the 18 year-old "young buck" one in the new NG who's still working his way up to the NES games.

I actually played a couple of my old PSX games recently, but two I focused on in particular were King's Field II and Legend of Legaia.

KF2 was good fun back in the day, and still didn't disappoint (even though the graphics suck for today's standards). That game had a lot going for it. It had some badass magic swords, like the Excellector (a growing crystal sword), and the Triple Fang (a sword with qatar-style triple blades, hence the name). Speaking of which, I just found out for the first time certain weapons actually have special moves. Anyone who has played this game knows the power of the Moonlight Sword, so just imagine that with a heat-seeking shockwave. There's also lots of treasure hunting, although the treasure was heavily guarded. I mean hardcore stuff, like spikes in walls, swinging maces and trap floors. This game made you seriously weigh the consequences of getting greedy, none of that "walk in an area and clear them out" stuff like most RPGs. Another cool point of this game, you could literally kill anyone you felt like, story be damned. Of course, you'd have to pay for it in the long run, but you could do it. That was damn cool.

Ah, Legend of Legaia, this game was RPG gold. The battle system was frickin' badass, these guys don't need no magic or anything like that to kick your ass, all three main characters are martial artists. Of course, you still get summons, and weapons and stuff, but the focus was always the "Art" techniques. In particular, Miracle Arts (the ultimate attacks) were uber-cool. My favorite character in that whole game (and one of my all-time favs) is Noa. Noa's the typical anime "cute girl", she's got pink hair, funny mannerisms (like waving her hands around like crazy  ) and of course, really has a position of power in the world, like 90% of chicks in an anime, she's really supposed to be a princess, surprise there. She's literally raised by a wolf, Princess Mononoke style, so she really, really naive about the world. This makes for funny as hell scenes in the game, such as the "pimp" scene.

Spoilers, for anyone who actually hasn't played this game and still plans to:

This guy's been kicked out of his village for falling in love with a human girl (his people have wings and such). So, he's wallowing in his beers, as his girl literally steals to pay for his living. So, enter Vahn (the hero), Noa and Gala (this badass monk guy), and they listen to his story. His girl calls him a pimp, so of course, Noa asks what that is. When Vahn tells her, she proceeds to kick the guy, Bruce Lee style through the bar shelf.

Legend of Legaia: I also loved that game. I remember seeing a friend fight and beat Cort for the first time. I thought that it couldn't be THAT hard. So I play through the damn game... Not only is it rather difficult, but Cort, that bastard, summoned Juggernaut during that fight (!!) and utterly killed all three of my full HP guys in one hit.

EDIT - And I don't care how old this game is; I found the effects and utter formidability of Cort's Juggernaut summon to be the best "summon" in any RPG I've played. First, Juggernaut's massive hand appears through a portal and smashes you from under the ground. Then, the same thing happens, but above you. Each of these hits drains huge amounts of HP unless you're guarding, and, in my case, Noa was already dead after hit #2. Finally, the Juggernaut's massive head appears through another portal and destroys whatever you have left with an energy wave. I was devastated, but that minute-long summon scene was worth it. Funny thing; Cort never, ever did it to me again. I once even beat him within an inch of his life and waited for about 50 turns or so; never another Juggernaut...

Songi was a higher Kefka. Just as crazy and he kicks your ass every single time you fight him.

In fact, EVERY boss had a big area effect attack that just wasted your party. You actually had to make use of the defend/charge feature simply to avoid damage.

And no, I didn't use the point card. Finally, a hard RPG that wasn't insane like Star Ocean 2 came along; I wasn't going to muck it up with an infinite-use free-damage item; I skipped it every time I could get it. But even then, I doubt it would've made things THAT much easier...

Ah, Legend of Legaia. I used to have that game. Hearing you guys talk about it makes me want to buy it back. One thing I remember most about LOL was how hard it was. Even if you leveled up your characters, getting screwed in boss fights was still a possibility. I really liked that about the game. And Songi. Man, that dude was one bad mutha. He wasn't so hard when I fought him the first time one-on-one with Gala, but when it was all three of my party members vs. him, MAN he did some damage!! Oh and I dig all three of the main characters were martial artists. As much as I love swords and all that other crap, screw it! Let's see more of that in today's RPGs!

Now if only they didn't go and screwup Legaia 2....:bluu:

I don't mean to go off on a random rant, but I just gotta say that I really hated Prince of Persia: Sands of Time. It baffles the hell out of me how it could get so many great reviews. Hasn't anyone ever played a little (and vastly superior) game called ICO? The graphics are mediocre (worst particle effects ever, the wood breaking effect alone would drop it to an 8 for me), the fucking puzzles are not clever (and it doesn't help that the game tells you how to solve the fucking things ahead of time), and the fighting engine is garbage and makes me wanna kill somebody. Who's idea was it to make every single fight consist of have 20 goons crowd around you while you jump off the walls and roll around? Plus, I quit playing the damn thing because the time reverse is fucking broken. I finished that multi-level mirror puzzle (which was boring as hell) around the 60% mark and there's a fight at the top. I jumped over this guy to attack him and when I hit him I flew off the fucking edge somehow and the time reverse would only take me back to the moment when it happened. And I'm not doing that shit again. RETURNED, BITCH.

Alright, enough of that. Currently I'm playing VF4:Evolution Quest mode. I just Champion'd Jacky last night and I think I'm gonna work on Jeffery next.

Oh, and FFX2- Annoyingly distracting side quests. I mean, almost the whole fucking game is made up of side quests. And the fact that you can't control anyone except those three annoys the shit out of me. Only Paine, and her bitchy got ways keep me going when I'm playing it.

On Cort: I never gave him the chance to summon Juggs. :D Noa's one crazy amigo with the Miracle Arts when you're fighting Cort or Lapis (the secret boss), so she hit him hard as hell. Although Gala was the ultimate badass by the end (Biron Rage hit for 9000 HP and he had a Mettle Goblet  ) Noa's still my favorite, she has access to Super and Miracle Arts before anyone else, plus her idea of "dancing" in the minigame is too good.

Songi rules. He's kinda like Kaiba in that he taunts and trash-talks and plays mind games (yes, an NPC who plays mind games), but Songi constantly owns you both in battles and via his scheming throughout the whole game until his final demise.

Tetsu: What a bastard. He gives you a nice easy tutorial fight, then proceeds to beat the holy hell out of you the second time 'round. And you only had that one chance to beat him before advancing the plot.

Ending: I made the *right* choice. Let's say it didn't involve the lame one.

This wouldn't be so hard if there were 20 or so blasted stores to do AND if there weren't so many dumb cops! Oh yeah and the 5 mins includes getting there and smashing up the stores. Personally, I don't think its enough time. Gah!!!

Here's how to beat that mission in three easy steps...

1. Get a PCJ-600.
2. Get a machine gun.
3. Ride it into the mall's front door; drive-by anyone and anything in your path.

Oh, and always look out for cops...

Serious Sam: Next Encounter! :D

I read a preview for this in GI and it caught my interest. I read the review that GI had for this game and it got a 7.75 (second opinion included). This will be my first time playing a SS game so I'm excited. I know it isn't a terribly deep FPS but it sounds like a blast to play and for $20, I can't resist. Hey, Fighter X, I'm picking the game up Friday or Saturdayish but I probably won't open it up right away. I you pick it up soon and play it can you post some impressions? :) Thanks in advance.

Symphony of the Night: loved it BUT it had it's problems. One song for almost the majority of the upside-down castle=lame. Also, despite the added play length and challenges, most of the second castle was a little dull. But overall, I loved the game. The first GBA Castlevania is a gooder as well, though the second one was less than stellar. I still have to purchase the third one...

FF11: WTF is up with this huge 2+ hour version update!? I've been here waiting forever...

Sacred: I took a brief break from this but will probably take it up again now that version 1.6 is out. Anyone play online? I'm not very good at the game but I'm willing to try.

Mario Kart: Double Dash: I've played this every week w/ three other people since I've owned the game. Two on two karting is just that damn fun. The heated back-seat punch battles just take the cake. I'm seriously contemplating getting a faster upload DSL account just to host some Warp Pipe games...

Gunbound: I'm installing this after that mammoth FF11 update decides to finish. I hear good things...

You'll probably get to it before I will....I had it sent 3-day, so it should get to me by Monday, but sure thing. I will post them A.S.A.P.

BTW, don't be worried about the 7.75 score - the other Serious Sams recieved an average of score of around the same, so I know it'll be much fun. :D

I liked SOTN but I had a problem with the difficulty level. I thoguht it was too easy. Some of the bosses gave me a challenge but it lacked the difficulty of past Castlevania games like the NES original and Super Castlevania IV. If the players played some of the older Castlevania games I bet they would pee themselves.

Admittedly, the Sam games aren't too deep. But they certainly are a blast to play. The sheer number and diversity of enemies makes the single-player and co-op modes incredibly hard, much moreso than any other FPS I've ever played. They're crazy, whacked-out fun.

And this "Next Encounter" better not be part 3, or I'll be pissed. Sam is a PC shooter first, and console second.

Alpha here, using my bro's name since we're waiting for Naruto 80 to d/l.

Yeah, I bet there's a lot of guys who played NG on Xbox, thought it was really hard...and then died after playing the originals, where no matter how many lives you have if you die fighting a boss they start you back at the beginning...

For me, Super Castlevania IV is easy as hell for the most part. But the "RPG only" CV players would probably have convulsions at the difficulty after five minutes of old-school. At least Xbox NG and Viewtiful Joe try to actually make you work for your win, though. That's rare nowadays, in the era where the "casual gamer" (i.e. graphic spoiled bitch who whines a lot) rules the game industry.

Doesn't it feel good to pass a song that two months ago you looked at and said "Fuck that shit, I can't even read the bars!"? I felt that when I passed my first 7. Felt to good. Hell, even passing my first 5 and 6 felt great. Good ol' Rottel the Mercury!

Yes its fun, and I like the amount of classes, but learning abilities is annoying, if you want to learn something like "cure" or even "fire" you have to equip a weak(er) weapon, how is that fair? And why did the put in laws? Nothing beats the hyper-realism of a judge appearing out of nowhere and decided that you can use techniques. FFT was so much better....But Im still going to finish it...

And Im playing...PUZZLE FIGHTER...Now if only i "got" it. So many times am i left in the position of "Wow, i got all these giant blocks..now when i drop this type of block, they should all explode*drops it* ..hmm nothing happend...hey look! Im dead!"

Oddly enough I like FFTA a lot more then FFT. Sure, I still play FFT a fucking lot, but in the long run, FFTA is simply better. First and formost the game has a MUCH better menu system, no fucking joke. Also, adding judges forces you to be, oh yeah, MORE TACTICAL. But enough ranting.

Currently I'm going to be playing an ass of Pokemon Ruby. Anybody who says that game doesn't fucking rock is a damn fool. god it's so fun. Plus the Jirachi I got with the Pokemon Coloseum bonus disk is major cool.

Also, I picked up both the Pokemon TCG and Yu-Gi-Oh TCG. Granted, nothing will beat Magic the Gathering, but fun is fun. I still need to pick up versions 3.5 of all the current main D&D manuals. I seriously need to find a good DM, other wise I'm gonna get screwed into takeing the job. And noboy wants to have to battle a ogre homsexual rapist.

I was jumping into the way-back machine again the other day; I started playing Wild ARMs again. Man, that game was RPG gold....which brings me to my beef:

WTF is Sony doing with Wild ARMs: Alter Code: F?

I was looking up stuff for the Japanese version, and was shocked, to say the least. The WA crew doesn't look so good in the WA3 art style (Cecilia looks alright though)...dungeons are now slow-paced (the original WA allowed you to breeze through some areas) and worst of all...they changed special/Force attacks, and the damage those moves inflict. :(

From what I'm gathering, my boy Jack went from being the ultimate badass like he was in WA to scrubby, 3000 HP "WA2 damage"...and if anyone here has played 2nd Ignition, they know that unless you're Ashley or Brad, you=teh suck. At least Rudy got pumped up like crazy, he's hitting for 10,000 HP a turn, kinda reminds me of Knight Blazer from 2, which was a concept I hated. It'll be one thing if all the characters can hit as hard, but if it's only Rudy (like it was only Ashley in WA2), that would bite.

So yeah, I'm seriously thinking Jack and Cessy got nerfed hardcore. I miss the "Trump Card" attack already, and Alter Code: F isn't ever overseas yet. :bluu: Please, Sony...do not screw this up for me...I don't want to spend hours fighting bosses because the guy brushes off your attacks like mosquitos, like in WA3.

But at least you can get Calamity Jane and Zed, that's badass.:D

Yep, he does. But only in the end, same goes for the other "extra" characters. Works for me, because I hated the fact that they added characters. WA was badass as it was, with the classic OG 3: Rudy, Jack and Cecilia. No one else is needed.

And also, I like the fact that the main character is the strongest now, Rudy was a little bitch before unless you used Fury Shot (which took too damn long) or multi-hit Twin Orbs (Which also took too damn long). Now he's like my boy Ashley, who to this day kicks more ass damage-wise than anybody in the whole series (due to uber-cheap Knight Blazer).

BTW, check the quote. Wild Arms 3 = the truth. WA2 was bad as hell, up until the end. Then it all went downhill...

And I sold it back.

Ah Wild Arms, I used to whore out the 255 item duplication trick. I ended up duplicating the highest selling weapon I had and getting 9999999999 gella, and my Jack, Rudy and Cecilia was soooo broken I had Zeik Tuvai killed in under 5 minutes.

InfiniDragon
04-23-2004, 10:48 AM
Yeah, I love the duplication trick. I used to duplicate Sheriff Stars, Secret Signs, Bullet Clips, Crest Graphs...hell, I duplicated Duplicators. :D But the one most important thing to duplicate in the whole game...GOAT DOLLS! You're frickin' invincible if you've got 255 of those, not even Angol Moa or that bitch Ragu O Ragula can touch you.

On Zeik: Yeah, Tuvai gets whooped if you've got a full power Arch Smash and the Trump Card Fast Draw. Almost as bad as Mother does.

So, what's your favorite WA moment? Mine would have to be Rudy right-hooking that fat kid who keeps screwing with Marielle (English name was Mariel, but her Jpn one's better IMO).

EDIT: Oh damn, how could I have forgot the #1 WTF of Alter Code: F...they CHANGED THE INTRO!!! NOOOO...but at least they kept the music.

Heheh, yeah, I know what you are talking about. If you don't go sideways and take out the bulls with missiles just right, they'll be crossing you up in about 15 seconds.

I've learned that Kleer skeletons are suckers for the chaingun. You can take out the Kamikaze bombers with your regular weapons (since they come for you randomly from various sides), if you want to conserve ammo, or use short bursts of your tommy gun. The missiles are best reserved for the bulls, and cannonballs for when you get a whole bunch of them in a row. The blue walkers can be done in my tommy gun, and the red walkers by chaingun or missiles.

It's insane, but that's the fun! No matter how impossible it may look sometimes, it can be done. :D

The blue walkers can be done in my tommy gun, and the red walkers by chaingun or missiles. On that particular sequence, I used the sniper against the Kleer until they started to get too close. One shot each. At short range, I prefer short bursts from the flamethrower while dodging in circles around them, letting each puff of flame burn for a little to conserve more ammo. For bulls, I generally try to do the flamthrower again while dodging, but if I have to get them from range rockets or grenades work best, or cannonballs when they are en masse and in a neat row. Kleer and bulls die pretty easily to the chainsaw as well, when they aren't backed by good ranged fighters. For the laser-mechs, I use charged grenades; one hit each. I usually use the chain- or lasergun against groups of rocket-mechs, rockets against one or two. Definitely switch to revolvers for the kamikazees. Also, any charging character, such as pupmkinheads, bulls, and Kleer, all die pretty easily to the double-barrel.

It took me almost a week to clear the final level in Sam 2. The one that starts out in the long hallway and guys come down it at you. I like to back away while firing. Then there's that one part where guys start coming from back the way you came as well. Good God! I almost had a heart attack. That final sequence just before the boss, where the sky grows dark and you have to defend that little square building as kamikazees pour at you from all sides was probably the hardest part of the whole series.

The best way to get it is to order it online, and if you see it, PICK IT UP IMMEDIATELY. Many places won't even recieve this game.

I got the Gamecube versions instead of the PS2 version, but both are good. The GC just has a few extra effects that you wouldn't notice if you only got the PS2 version.

This is one of those rare games that really snuck under my radar...I'd been waiting for the next Serious Sam game since I beat the last two, and I was expecting a least a little wave of news covering it. I didn't even know it was being made. I went to www.gamestop.com and ordered it A.S.A.P.

So, is it really the next part of the story? All the screenshots looked like the Egyptian setting of Sam 1, but I saw some with Sam 2 powerups (specifically Serious Invulnerability). So is it Part 3?

I bought that Zelda collection for the Gamecube a couple of days ago so I've been playing the NES version. I never really got to play it all that much when I was a kid, so this is like a godsend. Makes me feel like I'm 8 years old all over again. Where the hell's Kid Icarus at?

I honestly don't think it's part three. It seems to be something thrown in until the true sequel.

Oh and I forgot, I was playing Pokémon Silver again because my sister's hogging the Ruby/Sapphire one. I'm still glad I haven't lost my touch after 4 years, =p still levelling up like a biatch and doing it evenly. Already got the first 7 Johto badges and more to follow. What a great time killer.

Aw now this sucks. A game I really wanted to get my hands on and they screw up by doing a limited release. I guess I may have to order it online or just look for it in some of the places I rarely go shopping for games. I want to get the GC ver for multiplayer purposes.

Don't forget to try Blockbuster video also.

A few places have reportedly gotten a few to sale, but not to rent, and other BB's it's the other way around.

The one down the street from me got 2 to RENT, and that was it. :(

Nah, I understood them quite well...it's just that they make the Goers cheap as HELL. Jecht Shot owns those fools though, I actually beat them without it the first time I played. :D

*wishes Blitzball didn't suck in FFX-2* :bluu:

I know I'm late as hell, but just recently been getting into DDRMax2 here. The game's addicting as hell, can't stop playing it. Been gaming a hell of a lot here actually, thank god for taking a year off school.

Thanks to D-Force, I've been sucked into PSO recently. I got to lv. 6, and barely pulled out a win against the damn Cave boss...we had a lv. 35 guy on our crew and it was still tough.

For anyone who plays, if you see a lv.6 black-suited HUmar guy named Fate running around, that's me. :D

Funny, I'm playing the same thing. I'm holed up in my house playing Zelda 2:Adventure of Link. So many good memories in this wonderful collection....

I feel ya. I felt like I was coming down with something all weekend, only for it to all clear up just in time for school! Crud.

Oh well, at least I got some more Wild ARMs in, whooped Harken's ass hardcore with my 255 Power Apple "enhanced" Jack. Bwahaha.

Update: I got my Serious Sam: Next Encounter for GC today during my lunch hour - so much for my daily mid-day nap. :D

It does the series justice....I'll post some impressions later when I have a bit more time to spend with it, but from what I've seen so far, it's worth far surpasses the $20 pricetag.

Well My sickness is almost all gone. I played some Mario & Luigi today and advanced a bit. Peach got kidnapped AGAIN (Mario must have a thing for those helpless broads) and now I'm looking for some pieces to a road or something and the Prince of the Bean Kingdom bet 9,999,999 coins that he'd get them before I did. Well I hope that fool is ready to pay up!:D

I played more Vice City but didn't do any missions. I just played taxi driver. Most of the people got to their destinations on time. The people that didn't? The idiots that only gave me 40 dumb seconds to drive them way across town? They get taken to a back alley or some other secluded area and they either get their head chopped off with my katana or get a bullet from my oozy.:D

Serious Sam Impressions:

Well, where to start? Serious Sam is Serious Sam - the man is back, with some of the best one-liners he's ever had!

Graphics - on the Gamecube, they are really good....they have a "soft" anti-aliased look - it's not as sharp as it usually is, but it really works out this time. Where the surprise lies is in the fact that all the old enemies have been re-done and re-animated! It will really throw you off at first, because you're used to seeing the regular running animation of Kamikaze Bombers just running up to you like they normally would, but this time, they have a "running" animation that looks great. Same for the other enemies, they all have new animation, and it looks great!

Controls - I thought that I'd try to get the PS2 version, because I figured that I'd miss that control pad......WRONG! The GC controller is PERFECT for this game. Once you get used to the position of the Yellow "C" stick, you'll be off and on your way. Controls are customizable, of course but here's the default setup. Only thing I changed about it was turning off the "inverse vertical" function.

Minor gripe about firing - The "L" and "R" buttons on the GC controller OBVIOUSLY weren't meant to be pressed in rapidly, and the click the buttons make when you push it them completely inwards will annoy you for a bit before you get used to it. Luckily, there is rapid fire (same as before), but it's not that good for when you want to do short bursts with the Uzis or keeping the chain gun primed.

EDIT - I just found out, you don't have to push the buttons all the way in to fire, so problem solved with the "L/R" buttons. :D

L - Jump
R - Fire
Z - Information
B - Switch Ammo
A - Use
X/Y - Weapon Select Up/Down
C-Stick - Look Up/Down
Analog Stick - Look Left Right

Weapons - This is one of the best additions - not only are the old weapons back (along with new ones), but each weapon (except for the default desert eagles) has two functions! You press the "B" button to select between the different types of ammo with your current weapon. Now, the Chaingun has normal bullets and "homing bullets". The Uzis (which are cool) have regular bullets and "ricochet" bullets, which is definitely great for taking out a bunch of baddies in an enclosed space. The rocket launcher has the normal rockets and rockets with a "wave distortion effect". I didn't find out what the distortion effect did to enemies, but it looked really spiffy!

3 - vehicles! I've only gotten to drive 1, the Serious Jeep, a hummer with Rocket Launchers. It really comes in handy, but I've only used it in one short area so far. It will save you ammo in the long run. If you are good with it, you can make it last the whole level that it is in. It seems more like an afterthought, but again, it can take out many enemies in a short amount of time.

Serious Killing Spree! - This starts when you kill a certain amount of enemies in a row. Sam yells "YEEEEEHAH!", the sides of the screen turn yellow, so the next sequence of enemies that you kill for a certain time period earn you MASSIVE points. A nice little edition.

Sound - Sound Effects are PERFECT, with the various grunts of the enemies, and weapons effects. The Dolby is really kicking in this time. The music (from what I've heard) is reused in a few areas, but it doesn't bother me. The tracks are still good, but I haven't gotten far enough to judge the Soundtrack yet. Croteam had some very good music this time around (as usual), and of course, the heavy guitar and "fast-paced" themes are back. It's a bit of step down from the previous installments, but again, still very good.

Co-Op and MultiPlay characters - This is REALLY fun. I played this with 2 friends yesterday. Had a blast. All the usual options, and so far, I believe it was 10 areas to choose from. I don't know if you can open any up later, maybe as you beat the game?

The character designs for MP are overall lacking this year. I miss Serious Sammy and that black dude in the green suit with the afro, but there are a few good original designs, like Buzz Altman and Silicon Sam (a robot suit). The female characters are all butch and don't look very good. But this is soon overlooked when you start playing the MP.

----

This game is VERY MUCH worth a purchase, even if it was $40. $20 is a STEAL.

Go and get it! :D
