View Full Version : Good uses for Power dunk?

I feel this move leaves me open alot. I find it good to gain ground after a power geyser and against newbies who always crouch block. After jump in Hp, Hp(2ht) power dunk is ok.....Any thoughts?

After a busterwolf in the corner, it is a better juggle than Burn Knuckle.

Might as well just do a rising tackle, that deals the most out of Powerdunk/Burn Knuckle after Busterwolf in corner.

you can be a little further away to get the full damage of Powerdunk. For Rising tackle, you have to be right underneath.

Fierce Burn Knuckle and Fierce Power dunk take the same so its ur call

unless its a level 1 buster wolf in the corner then its definetly power dunk fierce.

Ultimate combo= J. FK land st. HP (2 hits) level 1 buster wolf then level 2 power geyser then fierce burn knuckle

^^ C groove of course

Don't ever use this move unless you fulfill one of the following conditions:

1) Your opponent doesn't know shit about this game
2) You're an idiot and enjoy getting punished and losing
3) You don't know shit about this game

If you RC it for use as an anti-air it may have some standalone utility. But that's a stretch. Especially when you have df fp and crouch fp. The only time you should use this, ever, is when you're juggling with it in a combo because that's really the only time it's ever safe. the end.

if ur gonna do an anti air. mite as well use crakshot instead.

power dunk is just an over head atk but it can be used sumtimes kind of like a shoryuken if ur close. but I wouldnt redommend it.

Erm well, you can use Crack Shoot but you have to be very familiar with the ranges so that you do it early. The priority on it is not very good, so you almost have to hit them first. For instance, at the beginning of the match, mk Crack Shoot is the only one that you can do that will connect and leave you relatively safe after its blocked. There's some people you should never do it against, mainly high jumpers like Bison, Vega, and Maki, etc. They will win every time you do it almost.

I personally like using crouch fierce as an AA. It's meaty as hell, has a huge hitbox, and doesn't look like it should AA at all. df fp is faster though, and you can cancel it. They're both good, I use them both, but I prefer crouch fierce.

The lvl2 power geyser only hits once, yes? So wouldn't it be better to do a lvl1 and save your power?

I havn't tried the lvl1 buster wolf into a power dunk. Does it connect with both hits of the power dunk?

1. Correct timing will get 2 hits from the lv2 power geyser.

2. Both hits of HK power dunk connect after buster wolf in the corner.

Well i think u kinda gotta be some what in the corner so that the buster wolf makes them hit the wall and dont go too far away then its an easy land. then just Fierce burn knuckle unless u want sytle pts weak Burn knuckle (wiff) then Fierce power dunk.

Right After the 2nd hit of lvl 2 power geyser lands quickly WP burn knuckle. and then right when u recover, do the power dunk. ( most likely goin to be fierce for damage.)

Note: it's only for looks

Fierce burn knuckle after the 2nd hit of lvl 2 power geyser takes the same damage so dont sweat the combo above.

That move is way way way way way too obvious and you get punished like hell. YOu should only use it with a combos. Yes, you can combo with that thing. Roll, d+lk and immediately the power dunk. RC should work well as an AA against the grooves that don't airblock of that Parry and shit. I really don't use the power dunk, except when I am in A-groove (after a CC in the corner). I don't recommend using that power dunk. Using crackshoot is a weak move, but that power dunk sucks big time. I have seen Japanese use the power dunk, but only in close range, and when you are 100% that you are connecting. If you do it from far, you are eating a huge uppercut (if Sagat is your opponent). In general, you will get punished. This move leaves you open..................damn open.'

I agree. If it's a level one buster wolf in the corner it's gonna be tough to get a Fierce Burn Knuckle. I couldn't do it, is it possible?

The power dunk however is easy to connect. I even had to delay it a bit.

ONLY USE POWER DUNK AS A JUGGLE AFTER A BUSTER WOLF IN THE CORNER. (fierce that is)
