MvC2 team names (help, please)

I like watching Marvel, but I am hella suck at the game, so I'm not clear on the team names. Could someone please clarify the following:

Team Scrub
Team Santhrax
Team Row
any others I've forgotten

I thought that Team Scrub and Team Santhrax were the same (Storm/Sent/CapCom), and Team Row was Mag/Cable/Sent, but I'm not sure.

And is MSS Mag/Storm/Sent?

I've never seen him start IM.

I've definitely seen it played Mag/IM/Sent too, to let Mags DHC to Proton Cannon. :-P Order doesn't matter nearly as much as it does in the other teams.

IMO, I disagree, because of matchups, counter characters/assists, etc.. Sentinel staring Santhrax or Matrix is definitely not the same as with Storm starting. Same goes for Sentinel starting Scrub, since Cable can start, who has a completely opposite style compared to Sentinel. As for the Magneto teams, IMO he should almost always start, except for team CF, although Sentinel could start on Row.

The team name shouldn't and doesn't change according to the order, but it's certainly not the same team when character order is changed.

the correct order is the way i posted it: Magneto/iron man/sentinel. he uses that order to counter storm. basically anything she does he can tempest into proton cannon and catch her. also crouching lk,mk, tempest,proton cannon connects.

just watch his matches...

Santhrax is the exception. It is Sent/Storm/Capcom. Sanford invented that order because it has certain advantages over Storm/Sent/Capcom (for instance, if Cap gets snapped in, you can simply DHC right into Storm. This is not the case with Storm/Sent).

Santhrax is Sent/Storm/Cap. If Storm starts, it is simply Storm/Sent/Cap.

Ugh, and Team Combofiend is either Sent/Mag/IM or Mag/IM/Sent. The order does not matter there.

That's Team X. Xecutioner made that a long, long time ago.

Btw, to those still learning the game, try that team after learning an MSP, if you're getting into advanced Sent. The Mag/Cyc will make a good game, and the Sent/Cyc lets you work on your fast flies. Cyc endgame will also sharpen you overall. Ionno, I saved learning Sent for last. =/

Justin broke out with a Mag, Cable, Cammy a long long time ago, too... MWC 5/6 or B5 or something... He also made Storm Sent Cammy for Evo 1, I think. Dunno if either had names.

Oh yeah, I thought I invented this team a long time ago, but apparently it has a name, too. Storm, Cable, Cyc. Ask JasonX for the name.

Lemme know if I'm wrong.

EDIT: Teams are named what they are BECAUSE of the order and chemistry. Santhrax is famous for being really turtly at start of match and using threat of air super into hail to beat out Mags. Duc and Jesus NEED the battery to start (AFAIK Duc only started Cable on Viscant's Storm, to trap her). So, no, they're not the same teams.

yeah the lineup definitely DOES matter with storm/sent/cap...

with storm on point you can build 2 bars quite easily by running away and then do an air combo DHC HSF follow up with whatever sick unfly combo you want = DEATH. and *killing* a character is a very good thing to do! its a pretty reliable 100% combo too, especially if you've done some chip or some combo damage earlier.

with sentinel you don't have that option of a reliable easy to do 100% combo.

actually i'm not really sure why you would start with sent, can someone explain that to me? is it basically to build a lead with sentinel and then run away with storm for the rest of the match?

Stumpy, please stop insisting that a different team order still retains the same name.

If you were around when most of these teams broke out, you'd know that Storm/Sentinel/Capcom was dubbed the best team ever for sometime (around my way, it was called Team San Diego - can anyone corroborate?). When Sanford came out with Sent/Storm/Capcom, it basically broke the mold because it sacrificed the Storm/Sentinel DHC but exposed what an awesome point character Sent could be with Hailstorm behind him. Storm/Sent/Capcom was around WAY before it was called "Santhrax," but starting Sentinel was the innovation that Sanford threw into it.

Mag/IM/Psy was just the team Peter would use all the time against Clock because it worked all the time. There's really no name to it. Nowadays though, Mag/Sent/Commando is his answer to everything.
