No internet for a while sucked.

So I saw Spiderman2 and it was good. Not that much action. Focused a lot on peter parker and his relationship with his friends and family. But the rage was well built. It was a huge improvement then the first. The fight scenes were amaizing. A good chunk of time went into it. the Special Effects were good. Overall it was worth the time and money if some of you were wondering.

Console moved on friday. damn it, I'm working on friday so I am out. oh well

So ya... I blew both sets against Teddy in Marvel. OMG, if you were there you'd understand. As for fake MvC2 tourney... I was almost perfected by Chris P when I used MSP against his. And then got peaced by Teddy... 3S... I play Yun against Teddy and didn't play Urien so I trashed the tourney good.

Really fun night even with my horrible showing. Chris Q is getting better, almost beginning to think the council needs to discuss the 5 on 5 again...

Hmm...just saw it and here's my mini review.

I wouldn't say it's crap...it had a lot of good points and facts about the Bush administration. The problem was all the facts were all jumbled together to make some silly conclusion. If anyone took philosophy, it's similar to socratic questioning.

It's not as graphic as one would assume...maybe one/two really horrible parts (the baby). It showed a lot of parents whos kids were in the war.

A lot of the stuff (if you know anything about the war at all) is recycled. The patriot act was probably the funniest part, or the fact that only one congressman had their child in the war. The part about the Saudi's was news to me tho...pretty interesting.

The only reason why I could see people complain about it, is because lots of it is random as fuck, and/or it's boring. Also, a lot of his points aren't proven. It's all theory. It definately wasn't as humorous as Roger and Me or Downsize This (I haven;'t seen the columbine one yet).

As for recommending it, I'd say everyone should watch it...not because it's good, but because everyone should know what the fuck is going on instead of sayin like "Bush sucks" or "Bush Rocks". I didn't really like it, but I learned a lot from it. It's the kind of movie where you have to make your own opinion about it. There's a lot of mixed reviews out there and that's because everyone has different philosophy's out there and they choose what parts of Moore's shit they believe. Oh well.

We were making too much noise in the school library during exam time (a group of me and about 6 others trying to study for our al geo exam) and the librarian came up to us and told us to be quiet. Naturally we were for all of 10 seconds... then it began again. So she came back and told us we had to leave. On the way out... while kicking us out... she basically told us all about the book and stopped us for about a 5 minute commericial telling us that all the teachers booked the copies of the books from the library, and that either we should get it from the library in a few weeks or go out and buy it. Ya... then she told us to get out...


Its weird being given some crazy form of advertising while being kicked out of a place... its like someone kicking you out of McDonald's while telling you about the specials they're having the week after...

Anyway; I finally got a chance to play Tyler/Poke Guy and it was pretty much a war. When it was all said and done we tied 6 - 6. His K Groove really is beastly but he had no clue on how to fight C.U.R.T. and his back was broken from Guile Air Throws. In any case, he was a great opponent and I hope we can play again soon.

I never truly understood how air grabs work until today. I'm glad I learned something. Nobody ever used air grabs against me before.

My report on my Shopper's World CVS2 trip:
-It's hard to run :)
-screen is screwed up. The sides are cut off. you can't see the ratios of the characters. Graphics look a bit ugly on that screen
-I couldn't do RDP or qcbx2 supers, or B,F,B,F supers when I'm on the left side.
-the machine is too friggin close to the pool table. Some bundle of stick kid asked me to move.
-my right wrist started hurting after a few games.

Basicly the sticks take a while to get used to. Like EMTC, there isn't a lot of space between the players. That arcade has a nice selection of fighting games. Not a bad place to play.

I like EMTC and Pacific mall better. Shopper's World is a stupid mall. It has a stupid layout and not a lot of good stores.

Concerning the sticks, I think it's really a matter of adjustment than anything else. I played Steve later that evening and he uses N Groove and runs a lot and had no problems whatsoever with it and I used my N team (Ryu/Chun/Vega) and had no problems at all (though I did run into a super trying to dash with Vega). I don't know what to say about the stick problems. I used both sides and hit Sonic Hurricanes without problems and was able to do Kim's Rush Super on reacation. *shrugs* maybe I'm just used to play on them by now (only been three occasions though)

I'll definitely give you the nod when it comes to the screen. It was one of the issues I raised with Roger today and hopefully that'll get fixed up very soon. Noodleman called it the "Art Of Fighting Effect" because it seems far too close up than it should be.

In any case, GG's to with Poke Guy. If you know the next time you're in there I'll try to make the effort to come and play you again.

The 30+ Hrs of No Sleep Log.

I wake up at around 2-3 PM, wondering what the fuck is going on. Apparently Bry isnt back yet, and I dunno wtf is going on. Anyways, it got boring until Bry got to my house at 10:30 pm.

PS2 CvS2 is the only game I play (Fighting game wise). So we played that for a bit. Jason comes a bit later with the mas and DC so we finally have two sticks and a DC. Thats fine. Only one prob. J's mas stick still sucks. Evident by the fact that Jason's MAS won about 35-9 in the few games we played. At around 2 am we went to Pizza Pizza, got a pizza and shit. For some reason Bry was scared of security. What a retard.

We get back at around 3 where Bry just plays a few games and gets to bed after an hour. Me and Jason play about 30 games of CvS2, which is a lot. This was after he taught me RC blanka, which was working really well. (WAS) being the key word. Funny times whenever we both did RC Elec and it just did nothing. Things were looking good.

Jason gets to sleep at around 6-7 AM, and I figure Im not gonna be able to get to sleep so I play around with Unfly Combo sentinel and random CvS2 combos till everyone wakes up. Around 8:30, we leave for orbit with high hopes.

I try to get some sleep on the bus, wasn't happening. I drank pepsi so I was wired. I tried to sleep but instead hear conversations about names on Jasons leg from some girl. Funny. The bloor bus makes a couple of retarded stops which piss me off for some reason, I think it's cuz I didnt get sleep. More on that later.

We get to islington and the subway ride was pretty funny too. Some weird black guy kept listening to our conversations and snickering. I think I was the only one who noticed it tho. Anyways, there's problems as we dont know what bus to take after the subway...well not really, more of overreactions by Bry.

We get to pacific aat around 11:30, making it a good 3 hr trip. This has to be worth it right? Bussing that shit for a good cause, some money, maybe a good placing in cvs2 after all that practice, and have a good time right? ...of course not.

I get to the marvel machine and me and Bry start grabbing a streak and trying to get up to 20. We only got to 11 tho, as I kinda threw it away when I played Fobguy. Who is Fobguy you ask? more on that later.

Anyways, we scam it so that we get two games, as I put down and then Bry puts down after, we end up losing to Fobguy again. What the blood? I get a little frustrated and decide, hey, I'll play him first round. He just got lucky twice, there's no way he can touch me in tourney...

Of course that didn't happen. Fobguy takes the first game with santhrax against my mst. Let me explain. Not only was I doing weird triangle jumps and doing typhoons and magneto air fireball moves, Im getting them in crucial opportunites where I know where he wasn't blocking and I could get him. There were many opportunities the first game, the execution wasnt there yet. But it woulda came eventually right?

I play scrub 2nd game and OCV for the win. Easy enough eh. Third game he goes and picks rowtron, and is shocked when he sees my cable against his magneto. One thing about Waterloo that I notice is that they seem to take their character matchups seriously. They never want to see their sent go against a cable because they automatically think they'll lose. Anyways, cable goes about even, and I bring in sent to do the usual spit fly unfly spit to ground storm. Did that happen? Nah. Instead I get spit, fly, 5 seconds of trying to unfly while i get hailstormed. Of course, I end up losing. But it's only winners, I can come back from losers easily.

I play two random guys I dunno, and beat both. Now I'm playing Roger. His execution is sick on jap sticks, and manages to beat my storm/sent/cable in game 1 with MSP. 2nd game was a diff story as I dominated through 90% of the match. The other 10%? Just my 3 chars getting resseted to death by one hit kill magneto. I lose and finsih in like 13th place.

It wouldn't have been much of a disappointment if I played good people and I tried and just lost. These were two players I know I could've beaten 80 +% of the time (no offense), and my execution was just horrible today. I have many excuses (No sleep, I was on the bad side all day, etc), but oh well.

CvS2 wasn't much of an improvement. I decided to try the RC Blanka I learned last night. Did it work? No of course not. RCing 90% on MAS sticks = 0% on Jap sticks. Because of this, I get flustered and lose to Karan, beat Tony, then lose to Dennis Wong. I will getbetter in this game.

Now for random shit.

- Dejay and me went to eat lunch, and there were 2 seats open. This old couple asks if we want to share the table and we don't mind. I probably would've minded if I knew they were gonna askt he most random questions at the most random times. Like Dejay is eating rice, and all of a sudden "So you out of school?" "You're from mississauga too? So are we!" so many random comments that were pretty funny. Speaking of Random comments, that random guy was making nonsensical jibberish all day. Probably the most notable was the one about packing the meat he got for dinner in his backpack. Real genius :)

Dejay is known as Darkness from now on.

Sauga as a whole is really really really BAD on jap sticks.

Gerjay didnt execute, bry wasn't on top of his game, I just fucking sucked, Matt did pretty crap on them , dejay couldn't adapt in time, and James had a fucking hard time with them too.

Going to T5 is a HUGE maybe now as I dont think I can adapt to those sticks at a good enough level.

I STILL HAVENT GOTTEN SLEEP. IM AT UN BECAUSE I COULDNT GET A RIDE. Just kill me now. 34 hrs now and I felt tired once, but I couldn't sleep cuz all the noise and hsit. Oh well.

Waterloo players are pretty good. Fobguy reminds me of Hayvren cuz they play exactly the same way. (Subbing Storm for Cable in Hayvren's situation) They have crazy defense and know how to block really well. I can't remember time where I felt so hopeless.

G3nn seems pretty good with row, he kinda threw away a lot of matches tho. His magneto is a killer at the start of the match tho.

All the other players I dont know/have nothing new to say about them.

If you want to boycott T5 that's your choice but don't go trying to convince other people to do it just because you couldn't deal with the sticks. The CvS2 sticks and buttons worked just fine. The problem isn't that the equipment is faulty, it's that the players aren't willing to adapt. Even Teddy & Gerjay both admitted after UN that given them they were able to adjust to the sticks just fine and get their attacks to work they way they wanted.

My bracket making is simple; it goes by ranking from previous tournaments. Roger was 1st, Gerjay has come 1st and 2nd in the previous months tournaments and was ranked accordingly, same goes for Ian. My record speaks for itself. Then you've got Marvin who's right there with me for consistent top five placings, Omni Dragon (who ended up 2nd today) and Dennis (go argue with him over who's better) and then you were ranked 8th, which happened to be in Roger's bracket. And let's not get ahead of ourselves, you nearly lost to Rey, nevermind worrying about Roger.

While we're on the subject of brackets, let's have a quick talk about the whole "Oooohhh, I have to face Roger? What the hell?" problem that keeps coming up. Everyone just loves to bitch and moan when it comes to who's got to face Roger, like some horrible fate will fall upon them because they have to face him. Well guess what? If you plan on winning you'll have to take him on eventually so deal with it. I drew up the brackets today and knew there was a solid chance of facing Roger (my main concern was Dennis who I barely beat and knew it'd be a fight anyway). I could have just booked myself on the other side and tried to face Ian again but that'd have been scamming someone else out

Yep... Orbit sticks have gone to shit in the last few months. I couldn't do Bison's cc when I played Justin and it cost me the game =/ I used to be able to do it at Orbit 100% on either side.

My highlight of the day was me vs Ian in rock/paper/scissors for 3rd in cvs2. It was fucking sick! The second game we had like 6-7 rounds before I finally won. Crazy shit. Then the 3rd game it went scissors/scissors, scissors/scissors, then I got baited and went to paper but Ian stayed with scissors. Who's down for a RPS side tournament at t5? $2 entry fee or $1 a game or whatever. I guarantee no rigged brackets or broken controls ^_^

Yeah our match was odd. I honestly didn't think I could win it when I saw I only had Vega left but you got reckless with Blanka and I got in too many air throws against Sagat. Still the match was good and I hope I can play you again soon... with me winning of course. :evil:

i can relate to the hate for orbit sticks, those things are just wierd. i had the same problem teddy was explaining. go for spit fly hp unfly spit trap and getting spit fly hp, 2 or 3 seconds of lk's and hk's trying to unfly then getting supered or comboed. we should seriously look at holding t5 somewhere other than orbit cuz holey shit =/ a couple times my HP would stick and come out but it never cost me a match or anything. at least i got my "casual match revenge" against jack and beat him in the tourney but i ended up losing to brys ken/sent/akuma with my combofiend and iceman/cable/doom so that kinda blew any good feelings i had. the whole bus/subway ride home was whack, i was there but it felt like it all went by in a blur and i kept glancing over and seeing the burnout in DJ's eyes and knowing how tired he was cuz i was on the same boat.

I don't think people quite grasp the fact that there is no other venue that can hold T5.

Shoppers World, Woodbine Centre, Fairview Mall, Eastgate Mall, Erin Mills Town Centre are all on mall hours and thus can't accomodate the length of the tournament.

METRO and VF were ruled out due to size limitations.

DT Funland was ruled out after realizing they don't have the necessary cabinets and the fact that ownership doesn't want to move extra cabinets.

York and Waterloo Cove were both considered and ruled out due to missing cabs and time constraints.

Trust me when I say this; I exhausted all venues. This isn't a matter of taking the easy route. I wanted to play on US sticks (though I play just as fine on Japanese sticks) as did others but the bottom line is that ORBIT was able to accomodate all of our needs as it concerns time, space and willingness to bring in extra cabinets.

Oh yeah... so as not to double post.

I can't work it both ways. I can't see you guys by region and then turn it around and say "well they hang together every so often so they can't play each other either." If that were the case I'd never face Sauga Crew because I play you guys about as often as I do my own teammates. As for Gerjay's seeding, I felt it was well deserved. The tournament results don't lie, the guy plays well, busts up so many people who are "supposed" to be better than him and doesn't get enough respect for it.

The issue with Karan is subject to arguement. When the double KO came out I sat there for a second and then Gerjay said "you know that counts as a win on both sides right?" I asked if he was sure, he affirmed it and I shook Karan's hand. I don't have a base of reference for that particular circumstance to fall back on. If Karan feels that cheated and he wants another shot at me he can play me again in the next tournament. That's all I can offer him.

I was able to execute about 70-80% on the "broken" mvc2 side at UN (Big improvement from the tourney), and had like 15 crazy rowtron matches with Jason.

Little UN Highlights (Since i just woke up)

- Beating Hamilton with team shoto

- Beating Gerjay's stupid marrow teams with my marrow/guile/tron

- Owning Justin with Marrow/Guile/Tron

- Actually getting some RCs in CvS2

- Trying to get sleep on the computers cuz I liked the seats and didn't want to sleep anywhere else.

- The guy with his OWN FACE ON HIS T-SHIRT at Pizza Pizza! haha the funniest shit happens there

Oh ya... about the double KO incident. Write it up in T5 rules right now, double KO counts as a win for BOTH people. I've seen people get screwed over because of it (namely Pokeguy vs. Dennis when the double KO should have won him the set...).

Honestly, the only complaint I have about that tourney was the Jason Ma incident. Truthfully, at T5, DO NOT allow late registration. Seedings go to blah when people are allowed to enter into losers bracket. I can understand shoving them somewhere in winners... but in losers where they wouldn't have been anyways, its killer for anybody who wants to try to get back.

That's pretty much the complaint from my point of view... ie getting screwed by Jason Ma because of it.

This situation I can apologize for. Truth be told, it's my understanding that players are allowed to buy into losers bracket considering they've already put themselves at a disadvantage and yet still paid the entry fee. That being said, I can understand how it obstructs the flow of the brackets and as such will not allow late entry (into losers at least) when T5 rolls around.

GGs to those that played at EMTC today. It was fun. As usual the EMTC cvs2 machine is broken in someway. 2P side's mk and mp is slightly screwed up. I don't think I would have gotten my 10 win streak if they weren't broken lol. A few of the games were too close.

I'll be at SW on Tuesday after work. I don't know when my shift ends so don't wait for me or whatever. My shift ends anywhere from 3-9pm.

I'll most likely attend T5 and maybe the SW tourney on 24th. A few days before T5, I'll go with my bro to train on jap sticks at Orbit. Last time I played there (1 year or so) I could barely do DP and supers.

Because you need to realize with this being like... the last big tournament of the summer for me (unless we hold M3 somewhere... but that'll be iffy) then I'll need to be there the whole time.

Anyways... pre-tourney casual is good for me too. Took me about... 4 hours to adapt to the orbit sticks yesterday enough to allow me to sorta play on the sticks... then about 4 hours into UN I actually think I got my execution down after playing Rowtron forever. Anyways, today was funny.

Yang came over to borrow my older bike because he only had his really old and overly small bike to use. So ya... then we told Chris Q we'd come over at some point in time and then went to Burger King to drop off his resume and such.

So we get to burger king and find out yang needs to fill out some beastly application... which I help him fill out for some odd reason. Anyways, after its handed in we order food and sit down. He's thinking about getting into CvS2 and training to come to T5, fear him :p We somehow wind up discussing TOSF players and we talk about Omnidragon, the story behind the dragon slayer, and then about how we used to play War 3 with him. All of a sudden, some really hot girl sitting behind us turns around and asks us if we're math tutors... apparently she thought we were tlaking about math... I see why she needs tutoring, lol :p

Anyways, we give her our numbers and tell her to call us later and we'll discuss the details if she actually wants tutoring. So... we head off to Chris Q's and take a horribly wrong route that takes way too long and is almost all uphill. *sigh*

We make it there after a terrible bike ride and I finally get to see his MASSIVE TV. Lots of fun marvel matches... and Yang almost won a match against Chris Q :p His Capcom is definitely his best character. Suddenly we notice its 8:30 and I didn't even tell my mom I was going out... so I head home and ya...


today was too much fun.

meh, yuhin asked who wanted to come on wednesday, and we said we would. Just because people said they'd go thurs doesn't mean they get to go wednesday.

I don't see why some people are so mad. we're going a day earlier and ur going on thursday. We found a way that everyone gets to go to waterloo, and it's a snake. But whatever, can't please everyone.

I've all ready msged the three about how i feel. teddy I talked to (since i've known him for so long) and the other two I blocked.
I know it was a snake, no matter how any of you try to spin or rationalize what happened.


Yuhin: I'm not that mad at you. I think you should of offered the wed. spots to us first, but that was your call. Its like...say your goin camping with your buddies, but you pospone the trip a week due to bad weather. Do you invite a new groupe of people to come up with you? no.

Still it was your call, and i apretiate you offered to still take us on thurs. as a peace offering. And no, i won't be comming on thursday

Gerjay: the big deal is that when you snaked our spots, it was not aparent that we would still be able to go on thursday. You guys just fluked out that Yuhin offered, allowing you guys to say "hey whats the big deal? your still going."

The simple fact is i've been around enough shady people to recognize a snake. This was one.

Well...you said it wasn't Yuhin's fault for not offering it to you guys, so how exactly is it our fault? Because he asked ANYONE if they wanted to go tomorrow and we wanted to go? So it's our fault that we accepted an open invitation? Yea that makes sense. If he wasn't going again thursday we probably wouldn't have bothered but since he was, what the hell is the problem.


EDIT: On msn before gerjay posted he said he was going to take the other guys on thursday too...so it wasn't a fluke out

I had a big rant and didn't wanna post it. Soemthign about that whole convo with Cassie and how it was Yang's bday and how it wasn't good to just ignore him or play with him the way you did... but meh... too tired.

The simple fact is, if nothing wrong was done, why would both bry and teddy offer to either "not go" or give up their spot. If nuthing wrong was done, and I was just crazy, they would tell me as much.

The way gerjay presented the idea is proof enough of where i'm comming from. If Yuhin was just offering spots, a simple "we're in" would have been sufficient, and cool with me. But that wasn't the case, which is why gerjay made his post seem more like a sales proposal than a simple request for a ride.

Now (this time for real) if nuthing else is said that I feel i need to reply to, you won't here me talk of this again (unless i'm drunk).

Thank you, you just proved my point. And no, i imidiatly knew the whole plan, including you posting to keep the flames to a minimum, i'm pretty sure i told teddy as much. as i said befor, i've chilled with some pretty shady people. I can recognize a snake form a mile away.

I said that because if any of me, Bry, or Teddy was gonna go we decided it would be all three. So the post was made. It was meant to give Yuhin the choice, which I know was a bad, but he took the right route and opened up the ride for you in the same post as he accepted our offer. I'll admit to it, dont' really care if the others don't. I snaked you, I'll wait for one in return. Bad day overall, bad decision, I'll live with it. Sorry guys, even though that won't help anything and we all know it.
