If the 5 on 5 finishes up at a decent hour we should run a tournament as well. If there's one thing I noticed during Brampton vs Sauga 5 on 5, it was that this thing will end in under two hours if it's run properly.

We got owned...I went 2-3 with one OCC with Kyo...

Not sure what the final score was but the score was 5-5 after me and Rey finished our matches. It all fell apart after that...bah, its all good, I knew we were the underdogs going in...good shit to Brampton and hope to play you all in tourneys coming up...

I seriously need to stop jumping like a newbie, that's for sure and it was cool seeing some of the throwing violence shit Justin hit on me in casual later on...

Anyways, this is my last post for a while...I'm going to try to make the tourney at Shopper's World on the 24th but until then, I've got a lot of shit to take care of...pretty sad when the only thing going right in my life is the CvS2 stuff I've been to lately...

Until then, I'm going to steer clear of the games for a while...I'll get in touch with people about some casual in a week or two for preparation for Shopper's and T5 at my place or at Jim's...whatever...catch you later fools...:cool:

damn today was so much fun....I ended up going 3-2

we didn't finish off the 5on5 cause brampton clinched the win...i think we stopped with about 4-5 games to go....the last score I remember was 13 to 7 I think...good job to everybody playing today...

Sorry about going 0-5 guys. I thought that I had some closer matches with Jason, Tyrel, and Steve. But I gotta anally raped without KY from Justin and Pete. Those matches were just ugly.

But I must say, I had a blast playing. Win or lose, I was glad that I was part of the team. Hopefully we get a chance for another 5 on 5. It's some good comp, and it gives you a wicked chance to learn how to play the game at a higher level.

The casuals after was fun. Sorry Jamie, I tried my best to win for ya, but Justin owns me for free. Damn him and his patience. :P

Rey> are we going to the Orbit tourney? and if so, are we renting a car. I don't got the car at all, my father has a soccer game. Oh and no offense or anything...but if you have trouble fighting against me in 3S, you don't have a prayer against TOSF...still, you guys should go and see how they play...it'll do nothing but help your game so long as you learn from your experience...

I don't think you guys quite get it. Look at it like this.

Jaime is argueably better than the majority of the Hamilton 3S players.

Jaime and I are pretty much even skill level at 3S though some might say I'm the better player based on the results of the matches we've had at WB. :D

TOSF makes me their bitch and I play them semi regularly.

This isn't a situation of "we're pretty good and could take these guys if we really wanted." This is more along the lines of "I'm going to need lube for the raping I'll take for at least six months." Do yourselves a favour if you really want to get better at this game then take the time to go down to METRO and ORBIT (make arrangements in the Toronto thread so you know there's comp) and play... and lose... a lot... but remember to at least think about why you lost. It'll make all the difference after a while.

Oh yeah and come to UN if you know what's good for you. It's free games for five hours and you won't learn so much for spending so little at one time.

well I know you're good at 3s, but beating a person 1 or 2 times is good....but to be better you have to be able to beat the person all the time...or more reasonable at like 80% of the time...so keep at it man....I heard your game is improving

I'll agree with Justin. To get better you have to understand why you lost. Not "man i suck" but, "how can i fix this problem".

Good games today(yes, despite planning on going on a game hiatus, I end up playing 3S two days in a row...:rolleyes: )...wish I wasn't in such a bad mood today while playing...was getting so frustrated with the smallest things it seemed...just makes me play worse when I'm like that

Highlights for me were the two Ibuki vs Yun matches I had with Rey...those were really intense and they were my best matches(Rey won one, I took one, both were five rounds to the wire)...being able to stop Genei Jin a couple of times was definitely a confidence booster...

Lowlight was getting hit by Nam dashing raging demon...I played much better against Nam today than yesterday but ouch, that hurt like a bitch...

Last two days, I've been seeing a lot of scrubby habits get into my 3S game and I'm not liking it...still, getting an 8 game win streak with shinsho Ryu is good so maybe I should just shut up...Rey's just lucky his Chun stopped me or I might have gotten to his 12 game streak...:cool:

There is one arcade and all it has is CVS2. But at least the controls aren't broken.

I don't really hate the game. I just don't like it. I never had fun playing it, maybe it's just me. But I'll leave that game to the Pros of TOSF, and I'll just stick to learning CVS2.

damn 12 hours of SF at orbit....well kinda...think i'll do a justin like log since i got time to kill

the cvs2 tourny was shit for me....I played bad....had the habits of a scrub...and therefore lost...learned lots by losing...and will try to redeem myself at the next tourny...the tournament was still fun

UN was great....good to see john, darko, and team revo show up...just went around to most of the fighting games doing random shit....playing 2on2 for cvs2 was interesting...we should have done some 3on3 since there weren't many people there

highlights for me:
-getting a 10+ winstreak on 3s with no middle kick

-getting a 4 game winstreak on cvs2 in S-groove :confused:

-hitting raging demon and that DD+3p move with akuma a few times :lol:

-OCV with r1(K-yuri) over r4(K-sagat) :D think it was teddy...not sure... :cool:

-learning how to play GGXX...finally learning what BURST is :p

random stuff:
-after jimmy and vanny finish in their loser bracket...vanny wins 1-0...then we talk to justin 30mins later and find out it was 2 out of 3

-getting owned on MVC2...you guys are crazy at that game...

-taking out teddy's mag with iceman

-almost getting killed 3 times on the 401 on our way to orbit :eek:

-seeing jimmy's GF smack him everytime he looked at a girl...

I have never seen a real use for parrying other than giving your self an advantage at the end of a close up string or stopping your self from dyign due to chip dmg.

Like the peoples who parry 3 hit fireballs and double hit fireballs are only asking to be mixed up. It better to blokc the last hit or parry / red parry their mix up.

Gotta scrounge up some dough for thrusday though.

Ike, I agree to a certain extent, but it really depends on one's own gameplay style and how comfortable they are with it.

For me personally, parrying is one of the key elements to my 3rd Strike game.
It's one of the few ways I can be on the offensive while being rushed down, after getting thrown/knocked down or whatever.

Blocking, blocking and more blocking doesn't suit my style and it doesn't help me win matches.
You gotta control the pace of the match if you want a victory, and parrying does just that.

Hey i think team rev has a good chance at beating team hammer. The whole teams game has improved. I can say i take things in a more strategic way then just all out attack like i did in the beginning. Vinces traps are getting much better. Ike has a hugo to watch out for on the dc anyway but we will see in arcade. Nam is better than me at parrying low attacks but my multi parrying and so on is better but all in all Nam and I are like the Super Parry Bros. of team REV. LMAO!!!!!!

but all in all i think it will be close.

Why are you worrying about a tiebreaker? Here's how it's gonna go. Rey is gonna go 4-0. You're gonna go 3-1 with a loss to Mr. Roboto (He's a parry beast). I'm gonna go 2-2 with losses to Roboto and Mario (Mario's game knowledge alone will own me for free). And Jimmy will go 2-2 with losses to Roboto and Mario. Just an update for the Hamilton folks. I put in a request for a MvC2 and 3S cabinet for Eastgate Mall. The Distribution Manager says he'll get right on it after I explained how your scene is trying to get itself together and needs the machines in one spot rather than one in Eastgate and one in Mohawk on their competitors machine.

Anyway; he's also either done or going to talk to the manager at Fun Games and tell her to give you guys Event Mode for Saturday. Jaime has been named a contact person by me so she'll only deal with him.

My conversation with the EG Arcade Manager today...

In a nutshell, she said no to event mode...I asked her if she got a call about it from Wizard's Castle people, she said she didn't. She said she isn't allowed to touch the "computer parts" although that definitely doesn't explain why I was standing two feet away from her when she tried to fix the CvS2 machine a couple of months ago. She also said even if she could though she wouldn't put it on event mode because she's aware that there are "challenges" and she doesn't want them to happen(which really doesn't explain why the game is there at all then...)

The one thing that I didn't say to her but will next time I see her though is that I can't understand why she's so against it considering it might actually make the machine make money considering that from noon to 5:30 there will be a constant stream of quarters going into the damn machine, with event mode on...

I may consider just forgetting about it anyways. Since there's a thing at Orbit later that night that Brampton/Sauga will be going to anyways and since at least a couple of Hamilton regulars who likely won't be attending...i.e. Rey, possibly Jimmy...

Either way, I'll show up tomorrow at around noon...at the very least, I'll be there to play anyone that wants to come for casual. If there's enough people, we'll do the tourney...

yeah, the mac arcade is really open i think til 12-12 every night and 4-12 on weekends. it's pretty sick plus u can hit up the bar right after for another couple hours :P

most people play during school hours though, but some come down after night classes etc. there's at least 10 hardcore fighting game players there and we would play whatever was there. at first it was cvs1/sfex3, then it was svc when that showed up. svc can be really fun, especially when you have a ton of people lined up to play, which often was the case after school. kof this year should be really fun and interesting. also, there's a pretty hard core tekken scene there too of about 5 or 6 guys who play alot. of course, this is all during the school year.

i'm gonna hit up eg tomorrow but prolly only til around 3. weekends are the worst times for me in terms of freedom.

-oh, and speaking of other games (vanny mentioned c&c), me and jeff both play starcraft every now and then on the net as well as ut2k4 if you guys play those. i have c&c, and red alert and c&c2, but i don't think there's any way to play those over the internet?

It's a bit of a drive but it's hardly far. It's only 1/2 hour drive from Square One/Erin Mills area. You'd have a longer drive to Pacific Mall.

Yeah, went to Orbit today...played some of the top TOSF players...got hurt...bad...but had fun and learned a thing or two maybe. Highlight was scamming Gerjay with that comeback with three throws in a row as time expired. I swear that was the biggest scam since Bush in 2000... :lol:

As it turns out, I may end up moving to Toronto in September for school...I'll be busy with school probably and will be having to watch the money but I'll still likely drop by Orbit or Metro to get schooled every now and then...

cvs2 first round: vs. pokeguys brother i believe....first game almost got an OCV with Yuri...then he makes a comeback and almost OCC's me with sagat I believe....I take both games

2nd round: vs. roger williams...first game I get to his 2nd character lol....2nd game I pick characters I haven't used in awhile and go with K sagat/rolento/vega...that game was close but I get baited into some face painting and lose

losers: vs. matt....won both games...don't remember much cause the controllers were so off

losers 2nd round: vs. tony....close games....I win the first one by a tick by punishing a blocked psycho crusher into a red claw...that went to 3 games i think...I win with rock...

losers 3rd round: vs. dennis...all games were close....first game final round went to a time over....i throw him but time runs out before he falls so he takes no damage and wins....2nd game...I OCV him with vega.....3rd game was close again in the final round...but his C-chun was too much for me

3S tourny 1st round vs. Justin: we both talk before we play saying how we both suck at the game....it was yun vs akuma...I take the first...lose the 2nd....win the 3rd....nothing good happened or nothing bad....I have no clue how I won since I only used Ganei Jin like 2 times for all 3 games haha

2nd round vs ???: didn't care much since I know I suck in the game....try to do some scrub yun....and it works and I win the first...lose then switch to makoto....dunno why....but get killed..off to losers

losers: same as the first thing...lost with yun.....lost with makoto...back to cvs2 since I knew I had a better chance at that tourny

CvS1 is a crappy game...having the glitches actually made it fun...shooting out Aegis reflector fireballs is just too broken. :) And the psychadelic trippy every-colour-of-the-rainbow KO when you win a round makes you feel like you earned some kind of reward...

Seriously though, my suggestion for fixing the CvS board is to just replace it with a CvS2 board...hell, it could be a glitchy CvS2 board like that one for all I care...

But anyways, I seriously have to make some adjustments to my style of play...I'm so scrubby right now it feels like...blah...good games today though...did manage to get a couple of mini streaks in there between Rey's dominance I think...
