So it's nice to see absolutely nothing happen in episodes 20 and 21 of School Rumble.
Seroiusly, this shit is starting to piss me off. Leave this type of 'negation' to Rumiko.
Fuck if this show ever bothers to not treat itself as a gag comedy I'd be one extremely happy motherfucker.
Ah well, I guess that explains my avatar~

Yeah, being able to tell whether or not it's bootleg is really easy. If you see boxsets, go to the OFFICIAL site of the anime and look to see if it's the same box art. If it's not, that's the first clue to a bootleg. If it is, which is exceedingly rare, then if it's region free, has chinese subs, comes from hong kong, lots of episodes on a single disc, then those are other gigantic clues.
Anyway, I still suggest NEVER ordering from discount anime DVD. Use www.dvdpricesearch.com because it's much easier to find cheap LEGIT stuff through that site.

just finished eureka seven, 9/10. pretty good ending. such a change from the depressing endings in animes i've seen lately, but anemone looks better than eureka. and renton is dope.
anyway, i need another anime to watch. any suggestions? to recap from my previous post that no one read a few months back, i've watched and enjoyed fate stay night, tsukihime, bebop, champloo, and furikuri, and i've watched and thought was OK chrno crusade, and i've watched and thought was really boring peacemaker.

Defintely fanart. Doesn't look like Hiromu Arakawa's art, and obviously isn't from the anime. No idea where it would be from

I'm still reading Hunter x Hunter, though I took a bit of break in-between Chapter 14 and Chapter 15; I just finished reading the latter.
It's becoming even more enjoyable, even for parts that would probably mediocre despite the length of the arc or subject matter. I think I'm liking the training the best, though there are obvious other things that sound out, like Killua beasting everyone in probably the shortest Hunter Exam ever and the Bomb Devil's plot.
Speaking of The Bomb Devil, I don't know why it took me so long to think of Karasu. Considering how much I like Karasu, it's not surprising that I like the Bomb Devil. I just a bit pissed when I thought he had killed the African guy, who is extremely smart; it's refreshing to not see a stereotypical character in Japanese media since the only other person I could think of is Elena and maybe Aokiji.
Apropos characters introduced in the Greed Island arc, Bisk was rather weird at first, but she's quickly grew on me when Lens Flare Punched Killua. Heh. I'm just hoping there's an explanation of why she still looks like she's 12 if she's really that old. I'm thinking Babydoll, but I'm somewhat sure that Nen probably has something to do with that.
Before I get to my complaint about Nen, I just wanted to comment that I quite like Kuroro/Quoll/Chrollo Lucifer, despite him looking rather girly when his cross is covered. The fight between him and Silva & Zeno was excellent; it's to see the person who could perhaps be the main villian be the outright strongest without a need to introduce someone even more ("egregiously") powerful, like in DBZ.
That said, I think that Kurapika and, by association, (conditional) Materialization are the most broken, at least when it comes to potential (read: imagination). I'd certainly like Materialization over everything--most especially Emission, which seems rather crappy--except for maybe Specialization. The fact that other Materialization users thus far, like Shizuku, Kuroro, and the Bomb Devil, are also top-tier seems to further this.
Finally, we get to my only complaint about the manga at the moment: Nen jargon.
After Nen was introduced, it seemed difficult to just remember even what Ten, Ren, Zetsu, and Hatsu when Wing spoke of them. Then it was easy for a little while, even with the introduction of Gyo and In. While I occasionally forgot, it wasn't any big deal, especially since I had the physical manga back then. Then, with the huge September arc and Nobunaga's use of En, I should have realized I was fucked. (Or was it Mu? It's something monosyllabic that I can't remember. Zeno used it as well.) Bisk's training then introduced Shuu and Ken and probably other things that I'm forgetting now; oh, right, like Ryu.
Basically, my point is this: Anyone nowhere I can find a summary list? I'm going to check Wikipedia in a bit, but if they don't have it, I'm going to need a bit of direction.

Great site for any and all info. (http://www.dreams.9esolution.net/)
One of the things I like most about HxH is that it isn't so much about the class of ability, as it is about how well the user utilizes what they have.
Hisoka, for example, has kind of a garbage ability. But he uses it so well that it seems broken.
And Kuroro is specialization, not materialization. And how the fuck is Shizuku top-tier?
Yeah, nen is kinda confusing at first.

Thanks for that.

Hisoka, for example, has kind of a garbage ability. But he uses it so well that it seems broken.
Makes sense. I'm guessing that you that Hisoka's has seemingly garbage abilities when it comes to combat, because outside of that, as seen with the divination occurence, he could probably make a living as forger otherwise.
And Kuroro is specialization, not materialization. And how the fuck is Shizuku top-tier?
Yeah, nen is kinda confusing at first.
Heh. My mistake when it comes to Kuroro. I just thought he was materialization since he materializes the Secret Book of Theft out of then air and the strict conditions had when it comes to use the theft part of his power.
As for Shizuku being top-tier: she gets rid of evidence like nothing. Again, like Hisoka, she would probably better suited to non-combat outside of crushing people's damn heads with sucker part of Demi-chan. However, I'm exactly thinking of just combat. It's like how you said, in a way: the imagination of the user.
It's the same reason that I considered Kurotopi top-tier because of the way that he duplicated those buildings so damned effortlessly and had no blind spots in his fakes. (By the way, is that the person whose gender you said I wouldn't believe?)
However, tiering is always debatable and you obviously know more about Hunter x Hunter than I do. It's merely fun to think about superpowers that make me jealous, even though I'd probably get killed in the Hunter exam before I even learned Nen. Heh.

You'd be fine in an exam as long as Hisoka wasn't there.
But you are right with Kuroro-- making the book is materialization.
And I forget that you haven't seen the rest of the Ryodan's abilities in combat. Though I'm surprised that you call Shizuku top tier after seeing Uvo's fight. It was beautiful how he killed that Kiba-esque hunter, the puffball guy... hell, all of those shitty bodyguards.
I love the Ryodan because of how well they all work together. Pakunoda, Machi, Shizuku, Cell-Phone Guy (with a monstrous name which I'll never remember), Kurotopi (and Kuroro to a degree) are all non-combat types that can fight as well.
And no, the person that you wouldn't believe is Caruto, who should have been introduced by now as the new Ryodan member.
Tiers in HxH are kinda iffy. You can have fighting tiers, but you'd also need ability tiers, and practicality tiers. And some characters have abilities that would be amazing if they weren't so fucking stupid.
Talking about the series makes me want to read it again. The fight that closes the Greed Island arc is my favourite fight in any anime/manga.
EDIT:
Hoonyo, it only makes me hope that he doesn't just let the series die.

You'd be fine in an exam as long as Hisoka wasn't there.
You flatter me. But really: I'm horrible shape, I've horrible eyesight, have next to no formal combat training except what isn't even sufficient beginner's level at Taekwondo and Karate, and have no weapon training. The most sufficient thing I've got is murderous intent--shoush!--and that's not enough (or even necessary).
Oh well....
Yeah. Uvo's fight was awesome, but I think I just don't highly of reinforcement types compared to the others, probably because its the least malleable. However, Uvo seemed to show that you could reinforce less obvious aspects, like the sound of your voice, so there probably a lot of less obvious uses. I've been thinking about reinforcing your speed, but considering how fast a lot of Nen users seem to be already.... The same for senses, which Gon and Killua are the only ones that seem to have an excellent advantage on.
Those "elite" bodyguards did get taken down awefully quickly though, now that you remind me....
I love the Ryodan because of how well they all work together. Pakunoda, Machi, Shizuku, Cell-Phone Guy (with a monstrous name which I'll never remember), Kurotopi (and Kuroro to a degree) are all non-combat types that can fight as well.
Right. It's quite impressive, especially considering the group doesn't share all of their information with each other, as shown with Pakunoda's mind bullet trick. However, I think Hisoka showed their weakness, in that they're surprisingly accepting because of this.
Anyway, Uvo's "mistress" on the side when Nobunaga is PMSing is Shalnark. (Seriously, what was that kiss for?) The name is quite odd, but it's grown on me in the sense that it's memorable. The only person whom I can't really remember is the guy that looks like a mummy, but that's probably because he (?) hasn't gotten to do anything on screen yet.
Also, I think the needle girl's name is Menchi.
And no, the person that you wouldn't believe is Caruto, who should have been introduced by now as the new Ryodan member.
Damn. That sounds like a girl's name too.
If (s)he's more androgynous than Kurapika, then I think I'll have to cry myself to sleep at night.
Gotcha. Character stupidity happens in almost anything involving flexible superpowers, but the way that you phrase implies that it seems to happen less often than say, One Piece.
That's definitely.
Anyway, at this very moment, I'm still laughing about Bisk and Hisoka's interacting, especially considering Hisoka was in nude. Heh. I think I finally found something easy enough to make an avatar out of....

It was one of my favorites of 2004. It seems like your typical school girl action anime the first half... but it gets very dark, very fast. The second half of the series eclipses the first by a mile... and the second half alone is the reason to watch the anime. Think of the first half as a set up/build up for the second half, which happens to be the meat of the story. I won't spoil, but it does get pretty angsty during the second half.

Go is the best strategy game ever. Imagine if Chess was waaaaay more open-ended. And yeah, I thought Sai was a girl until it was pointed out. He's certainly not very manly. How in the hell did this end up on CN? The show is good, though, in a number of ways. Also, it introduced me to go, which is the shit, so I have it to thank for that.

I've been essentially playing for about two years, though I don't play often enough against good human competition, so I'm pretty low tier. There are some good beginners tutorials out there, and a couple of good computer go programs like Jacqueline Go. There's a 9x9 free go program called Igowin that adjusts your ranking with every match you win/lose against the AI to try to judge your current strength.

More on the Hunter x Hunter front:
I immensely enjoyed the whole Reiza/Laser thing. It's hard to believe all that was for a damned card.
Younger Jin has hellishly fierce eyebrows. It's kind of comical, in good way.
Bisk is fucking buff....
I did really enjoy the last fight on Greed Island. I could never do what Gon did, even if I knew the plan ahead of time.
Was there a reason that the art got really sketchy until like the end of book 17 or so after Gon won the game?
Wait. So Caruto is "Kalluto"? I thought Killua's mother already confirmed Caruto/Kalluto was a girl.... Don't tell me I imagined things again.
Nothing much really happened in the Chimera Ant arc until it got to actually getting instead of NGL. Then it got fucking gruesome really quick.
Pokkle and Ponzu seem to have shitty luck.
Nefelpitou is a fucking beast. I think I've seen her in some avatars before, but I can't remember if it was on this forum.
I just finished with issue #200. So this should be good.

Yay, I get to talk about HxH again!
1. I love the dodgeball fight. One of my favourite scenes in the manga was when Hisoka caught the ball, and he looks at his mangled hand and says something like "Oh. I seem to have broken most of my fingers." And I also love the significance of the dodgeball match as it bears on their ability. Gon and Killua are both prodigies, yes, but they also both really really suck at this point.
And that card was powerful garbage. Some of those cards, I wouldn't have minded taking, though.
2. Jin... apparently, his name is actually Ging. I don't know if the translators made a note of it in the actual chapters, but they do change his name. I'll explain a bit more later on in the post.
3. I still love her, though
4. It was brutal, wasn't it? But I just loved how they set-up and planned for all that, and all the contingencies and how he trained specifically just to win, and not necessarily to beat him in a fight. It wasn't a bullshit powerup to defeat a stronger opponent. They devised a plan, and worked at it until it became something they could succeed with.
5. And the reason the art got shitty is because Togashi is rich, and lazy. The art is cleaned up for the volume releases, so he can basically do whatever he wants in the chapters. LUCKILY, most of what you'll be reading is from the volumes-- otherwise you'd have been subjected to some of the sketchiest art I've ever seen for anything. You'll get a bit of it, but not much.
6. The name changes come from Togashi's english being terrible. The 'official' english names of the characters are simply abominations, so the translators have to make due with them phonetically. Hisoka is something like... Hykcksoya. And sometimes they just make mistakes. Confusion in the gender come from japanese having a gender indefinate pronoun (like 'it'), and so the translators have to just guess. But yes-- all of Killua's siblings are boys.
All of them.
7. No one likes this arc. And it makes me a little sick. After that thing with the little brother and sister... I really hate the ants.
8. Sucks to be them!
9. It was probably me. Nef is kinda the mascot of my site, even if she is actually a he. -_-;; Even though I like her (Nef is a girl in my mind, forever), I still think that Kaitou got robbed. The fight would have been his if Gon and Killua weren't there with him. But that was some beastly en, wasn't it?
And lastly--
Palm is most definately a girl. Most def.

I concur. I was rather speechless from the "punch the ground" part onward, especially since he outdid Uvo's "Big Bang Attack". However, the use of Gain there was just fucking beautiful.
The only thing I didn't really like is that Gensuru's two sidekicks seemed to be way weaker than I was expecting. I mean, it didn't seem like even had any Hatsu of them own, since "Release" only works with all three of them touching and "Bomber" is such a conditional materialization that Gensuru didn't need them to make the actual bombs.
Meh. It was hiliarous to see some get owned by yo-yos though.
5. And the reason the art got shitty is because Togashi is rich, and lazy.
Ah. say no more.
6. But yes-- all of Killua's siblings are boys. All of them.
Ugh. However, I went back and looked at the physical version of volume 5 that I have. Indeed, there is no mention of Kalluto as a boy and he does look slightly boyish in the two panels where he stares at them as his mother runs off.
...Meh. I'll shut the fuck up. Hisoka wears freaking high heels and he's awesome, so....
...Kurapika is still girlier. Even if he doesn't wear kimono.
7. No one likes this arc. And it makes me a little sick. After that thing with the little brother and sister... I really hate the ants.
Any reason why? Too DBZ-like? I was kind of thinking of Nef as Freiza (given the whole Omega Red aura s...er "he" has going on) and the King now really looks like Cell. (Sorry if this is an insult to your mascot.)
Or is too gruesome?
It's possibly.
As for Kaitou getting robed, I can't really say. Crazy Four does really seem like a shitty ability, and he only showed a third of its ability before he got offed.
And lastly--
Palm is most definately a girl. Most def.
Yeah. That's been established rather well by now, given all the parallels with Sadako.
If I ever become premium, then I'm totally going to make a "Bliss of the Knife" avatar with her pose from page 6 of issue #205.
Oh, and thanks again.

especially since he outdid Uvo's "Big Bang Attack"
If you mean the hole, I'm pretty sure that it was pre-dug. They just put a relatively solid flooring over the top of it, and that was what Gon nailed when he attacked.
For the competence of the other two guys-- Biske fucked him up in one punch. That was a write-off from the start. And Killua is a much better fighter than Gon (thanks to his assassin training). And as a whole, they weren't really anything special. Togashi stated that at the end of Greed Island, Gon and Killua are about average-level hunters. Gensuru was obviously the leader of Bomber, so you could put him as slightly above-average, and the other two being his lackies. And remember that they weren't really fighter-type hunters.
I think that the similiarity with DBZ is part of the reason people dislike the arc. Another part of it might be just how long its been going. Togashi had less than 50 chapters in two years, and is still on his 8-month-plus break. Even if it isn't so bad in retrospect, it is still taking forever to get through. Another part of it is the lessened focus on Gon and Killua (in later chapters), and the worry that the series will just become a power-up fest with the introduction of these new super-enemies. That, and the ants really are assholes. They killed off some fan-liked characters like it was nothing, and then just start eating children.
As for my take on Nef v Kaitou--
The fight started with Kaitou losing his arm (messily) because he had to protect Gon and Killua. He knew that Nef's attack was coming, he could sense her en, but he still had to take the hit regardless. At the end of the fight, even Nef admitted that it was a good one-- not to mention the obvious physical damage she had taken during it. He is(was) a double-star hunter. I think he could have taken her down then and there if the kids didn't screw it up.
More on Palm-- Have you seen her date yet? I kinda hate Novu for never hitting that.
Non-crazy version, of course.

I love Biscuit too, she's my fav. character, even though I dislike cute/kawaii chicks, Biscuit owns my heart cuz of her personality.

Yup, thats Palm, though they didn't hang out that much, and Biske isn't really that cute. Not her 'true form' at least.

As I said before, if the show ever bothers to get past its status as a gag comedy it will really be something special.

If you mean the hole, I'm pretty sure that it was pre-dug. They just put a relatively solid flooring over the top of it, and that was what Gon nailed when he attacked.
Yeah. You're right. I now remember Gensuru saying that it was some kind of pre-made pitifall.
The hole was fucking huge though.
And remember that they weren't really fighter-type hunters.
That's the debatable thing.
I frequently remember Tzu...er that's all remember of his name at the moment, calling these people "warriors". I guess that's why I expected them to put up a bit more of a fight, well, at least the one that Killua was fighting. The Bisk thing came out of nowhere, except for explaining exactly what she was lying about.
It's not like they were totally incompetent without Gensuru. So, as I said early, I guess I was just expecting some independent use of Hatsu.
Oh well. It was still an awesome battle.
I think that the similiarity with DBZ is part of the reason people dislike the arc. Another part of it might be just how long its been going. Togashi had less than 50 chapters in two years, and is still on his 8-month-plus break. Even if it isn't so bad in retrospect, it is still taking forever to get through.
Ah. These are probably the only two that I have a problem.
The King's Hatsu is extremely problematic, and makes him even more like Cell, which is never a good thing considering that's the bad part of the whole DB(Z) series. Such a power was also extremely predictable, and not in the good Chrollo/Kuroro/Quoll way.
I was wondering what you were talking about hiatus-wise. Yes, let's hope that it continues with some regularity.
As for the other two, I've never had much of a problem with focusing on other characters than the protagonists, especially since I tend to like minor characters. As long as they aren't just getting used because they're going to get slaughtered to show how powerful the foe is, I can probably enjoy it. For instance, I really enjoyed the whole fight with the Ryodan that happened in "Ten", which is the last sub-arc that I got through.
As for killing of children, I don't think that's a bad thing unless they were going to out of the way to kill children in attempt to show how "evil" they are. They're just killing the children because the children are there and another source of food. I think it's rather gutsy.
As for my take on Nef v Kaitou--
That's true I suppose.
All I don't get is why he turn around to tell them? That's what lost him his arm (and his head). It's not couldn't have turned around after Nef hit the ground, since Killua probably still would have listened to him.
More on Palm-- Have you seen her date yet? I kinda hate Novu for never hitting that.
Non-crazy version, of course.
Yeah. She was extremely pretty compared to how shaggy before; I think you may have had her "pretty version" in your avatar before since I remember seeing someone that looked like her somewhere.
Anyway, now that I finally better understand some of the Ryodan's abilities better, though the sound mummy (the guy's whose name I can't begin to pronounce) and Feitan's still confuse me a bit, I have to again repeat that Shizuku is top-tier. Chapter 228 revealed a massive loophole in her inability to use Demi-chan on living things. She's like fucking Shatterstar (or whoever has the ability to set people's blood on fire in Marvel).
Outside of that, I just to know if I'm the only that things of Yuyu Hakusho when I see some of the characers? For example:
Gensuru looks like younger Toguro.
Feitan is basically what Hiei would be like if he spoke worse English.
Knuckle is totally Kuwabara.
Killua is the love-child of Kurama and Hiei/Feitan.
Etcerta etcerta.

I just watched episode 17 and I think its dopesauce.
Have you ever played the card game rummy? Mah Jong can be compared to that. sorta similar. It's really easy to pick up, I learned one day while watching some friends play. When me and my friends started playing at the place where I play Magic, we taught like 3 people to play in like 30 minutes. but I still don't know how to play points, though I've been told its not too hard to calculate. and thats the Chinese way the Japanese style of Mahjong looks even more crazy with the point system. though the Chinese version is more common Akagi makes me want to learn the Japanese way too.

Actually, the latest chapter marks the end of the second "past" arc. They get a couple new allies (both pretty cool), and the story is about to enter final phase... or at least that's what it said on the side of the Ultra Jump page. fuckin sweet christ. it could go longer, but clearly air gear is his main focus right now. since thats the only one going at a normal pace. Its sad since he made his bread and butter on tenjou tenge. And its a real shame for us fans who love tenjou. But at least he will hopefully refocus his energy.
The last arc..his style changed wayyy too much. like the only thing that even looks oh!great is the extreme detail in his art and the girls. he like has two different styles for his mangas and thats not sumtin we normally see in manag. american comics ya but not mangas. its almosst an expermientation..lots of use of darks. and it all started wit the last arc.

Well Bleach starts airing on [as] this Saturday. Big O just isn't the same without the opening theme. Freaking [as] taking out intros to make room for more dumb commercials.

The show's about these monsters that go around killing much whoever they feel like, and the monster hunters that are after them. The thing is that there's a new breed of monsters that take the form of humans, and well let's just say one of the hunters falls for one of said human monsters, and things go from there.

I've been reading it for a while, the only reason I didn't start watching it when I heard of the anime is cause I also heard it follows the manga exactly so not much point in watching it. It gets really weird and rather depressing later on, but it's stil intresting.

Hey does any one know where I could find subtitles for Solid State Society, I have it but of course it's all in Japanese. It's coming out in DVD here in the states like some time in 2007 soooo... if any one could help me out and let me know where you found a subtitled version or the file that goes in all the popular video players. Thanks! By the way I have like Melty Blood the fighting game if any one wants a reason to answer, I'll hook you up with the ISO. Thank!

Super illegal discussion man spotted! No subs have been released as of now anyway, at least not publicly. Bandai publicly stated any subbing will not be tolerated, and they will be sueing subbers. So there it is.

So the anime is good? People said it was bad because the author died before it was released. I like the main character. Like Vash + Testament. Cold mutherfucker tho.

I can only base my opinions on the first ep. It was pretty rad. I cant judge the series as a whole. The author of the original Novel did pass shortly after work on the anime started. But with content already available, I dont see what the issue would be with it in the absence of the author.

Well, I have officially been exposed to Bleach, via [as]. The plot is interesting, if a little cliche. I was impressed. Ichigo's voice is done by the dude who doe's Renton & Vash's voices from Eureka Seven & Trigun. I didn't recognize it at first during commercial previews, but when I was watching, I'd regocnized the voice.

I can't let this go unsaid, I'm sorry but the Adult Swim basterdized versions of these shows are what drive this "Illegal" fansub community to do what they do. First if the show hasn't been licensed in North America there is nothing illegal about it. Granted SSS was simultaneously licensed in Japan and the US so it would be illegal to fansub it. Any way Adult Swim blows. :lovin:
I have the 6th Disc GitS 2cnd gig, it's been out for a while. I downloaded it and haven't watched because I'm waiting for netflix to send me the 5th disc so I can finish up. Oh by the way I have "Blood+ One Night Kiss" the game for PS2 and I can't figure it out. Any one else have it?
Don't get me wrong I'm not hating on any one because they watch Adult Swim just try not to get so excited about it. It's cool if your 10, because that's what the Cartoon Network does makes anime safe for "kids". I know you hate what I'm saying but I know some where deep in the fibre of your soul you know what I'm saying is true. So cast off your filthy Cartoon Network watching habits and join the rest of the free world and indulge your self in fresh new unedited anime from Japan before it gets pastuerized by the corporate machine that is "The Cartoon Network" *breath* - "Adult Swim" eat my kiester! :arazz:

Nah son. Subs are cool as temporary solutions to watching stuff in advanced, or whatever. But Official, uncut DVD releases > Fansubs. Thats just the truth.
And stop hating on [as] anime. They do a damn fine job of doing barely ANY censoring/cutting. You see almost everything nowadays, even Shin-Chan's damn penis. Stop trying to diss something to look cool. Form your own opinion. And remember, Cartoon Network and [as] are two "seperate" networks. CN 10+, [as] 17+.

I concur that the Kenshin OVAs 1 & 2 (which are actually supposed episodes 1-4 of the Rurouni Kenshin series) is much better than the anime. Not to say that the anime was bad, as it was pretty good until after the Kyoto arc was completed. The OVA that was a recap plus the end of the series wasn't as great as the first two, but it was still pretty good. Kenshin OVAs 1 & 2 (Trust and Betrayal) is pretty much my favorite anime movie of all time. Even after watching it so many times, the emotions of the characters conveyed through the anime get me every time. So sad.

Kenshin's first love was Tomoe Yukishiro, and her brother was Enishi. From what I've heard, the Kenshin vs. Enishi fight was straight up incredible in the manga. What was shown in Reflection was really short and dumbed down compared to the manga version of it. This makes me realize how badly I need the manga.

So, I finally finished Hunter x Hunter up to the current point of 260--I actually thought I had finished it when it came to 249, but then I saw the other 12 episodes--and I have two major objective questions and one major subjective questions. The latter, subjective question has to do with something concerning Hatsu types since I'm considering doing a fanfic for it.
Was there any reason for why Karuto seems to know about Nen before Killua? He can at least use Zetsu and probably Shuu given that he cut that steel rope with a paper fan. His little paper technique then might even be his Hatsu, but his Hatsu (if he actually has anyway) was proposed by Hisoka to have found Abengane. Still, was there any given reason in the Official Book why Karuto knows Nen while the "most talented" person in the family didn't? I would guess that their mother has something to do with it, but so little is known about Kikyou....
Is aura visible or not? I don't feel that's what I initially wanted to ask, but it has been bugging me, and I can't remember the only objective other question. I ask mainly because of the fact that the Heaven's Arena 200+ above floors all dead with Nen and "Nen baptism" seems well-known enough, despite the fact that the only Hunters are supposed to know about Nen. Does anyone that watches know about Nen? Only the judges? Even the judges? Only the fighters? It just seems really unclear, and it sort has to do with my subjective question. So I want to know if there was any definite answer.
And here is my subjective question:
What does everyone think is the weakest type of Hatsu? I mean weakest in terms of what the "average person" could think to come up with.
I personally think that its Transformation type, despite not thinking much about Emission until recently--I still think that Emission is the second worst, but if the 14 Devils are really part of Emission, then Emission doesn't even really suffer from being horrible at Materialization and it has a sort of monopoly on range.
Transformation type, the only hand, might as well be the opposite of Emission given that the aura seems to always have to be close to the body. It doesn't really help as gauge that the only Transformation users, Hisoka and Machi and Killua, have been exceptionally strong anyway--oh, I guess I forgot Biske, but I still don't why she's Transformation. (Is it because she can transformation nen into cream? I still can't believe she has such a useless in-battle ability.)
But, yeah. Transformation gets screwed when it comes to opposites, especially since Manipulation does seem a bit broken given Shalnark's ability.
It's merely that I've been thinking of Transformation a lot, and it doesn't seem to have much going for it Hatsu-wise. I could post up my ideas if so necessary.
Yes, it always has been.

Nothing was wrong with them, but I enjoyed them much much more than Death Note because the guy that made them had a better concept of pacing and significance. They are all suspense titles, but IMO Monster and 20CBs were so far ahead of DN, that I couldn't stand it.

Also, do you mean maburaho or mahoraba? I'm guessing it's the first one since it's a little more recent.
maburaho is such a fun series..i love it. I never got to finish it..damn anime network took it off like 3 episodes from the final..fuckers. but defintly recommend it...its a cute series.
i saw bleach finally...the dub..not bad..only voice i dont like is ichigo...sounds too deep for my taste. but everyone else seems ok.

Seeing wato-jutsu animated would have been amazing. It's such a shame they stopped after the Kyoto arc. Now I'm reminded of Matt Damon exploding on the Jimmy Kimmel show. Matt Damon Nerves of Insanity FTW.
I know. Instead they made that shitty Christian Arc. Was there some sort of reason they went with that instead of following the manga?
YO Ouran owns so fucking hard, I am fucking SERIOUS, if you aren't watching this shit you are 1,000,000% missing out on some really, really fucking funny shit.
i watched 15 minutes of the first episode and it seemed to have an excessive amount of yaoi/bishie stuff.
Why would anybody care if Bob lost his dreads in Tenjho Tenge?? I'm pretty sure it had nothing to do with Oh! Great being "lazy" or anything, because every single panel of of that manga has stuff that's way more detailed than Bob's hair. If anything, I would assume that Bob's hair would be one of the easier things to draw. And Bob's been seen in that new hair cut for... like... 3 pages so far? Also, I personally think Bob looks much better in his new do.
Not like it really matters, though, since it's been quite obvious by this point that he's not important to the central plot. About the only thing he's significant for is the mere fact that he's Nagi's best friend. So we probably won't be seeing him do much for the rest of the manga except for being Nagi's supporter at the side. And funnily enough, Chiaki has seemingly disappeared off the radar lol.
Also, if anybody is up to date... the 2 new characters are pretty awesome.

he specifically said he got annoyed/tired of drawing his dreads.
his new hair is a nod to the fact he was drawing some redesigns for the tekken resurrection game on psp.
where the hell are u getting tenjou tenge updates? i only got stoptazmo for tenjou tenge.
when and where did he actually say that he got tired of drawing bob's hair? and as for the dark resurrection thing... did he design something for raven? i know he designed a costume for asuka and yoshimitsu back in t5, but i didn't know he did anything new for dr.
i download the raw ultra jump scans as they come out. torrents are usually available on multiple sites.
i usually delete the scans once i buy the manga though.

I remembered my Hunter x Hunter question besides the other three:
Can anyone explain, precisely, how Selection is conducted? It seems like the nen baptism of the 200th floor of Heaven's Arena, but I don't understand what those "egg" things are in the palace's courtyard are supposed to be.

It does have that stuff, but all the yaoi stuff is an act since their a host club. Seriously, watch it, it's hilarious and gets even funnier later on.

From wiki:
The television series and manga series of Rurouni Kenshin up to the end of the Kyoto Story Arc, had been nearly identical in terms of plot with only minor differences. However, when the television series caught up to the manga in terms of story, the producers of the Rurouni Kenshin anime decided to diverge from Nobuhiro Watsuki's manga and create their own story and characters (ie filler) until they had enough material to adapt without catching up. The last arc of Rurouni Kenshin manga, the "Jinchū" story arc, has never been animated. Many fans felt the alternate stories and characters of the anime series were inferior to Watsuki's original storyline.
With his dreads gone, Bob looks like Dennis Rodman. That's why it's bad he shaved his 'do.

YES! My replacement Guyver figure finally came and this time I was MUCH more careful with it.
Guyver 1, cuttin sh!t up (http://img213.imageshack.us/img213/5131/guyveri7dl4.jpg) / 2 (http://img213.imageshack.us/img213/9850/guyveri1ik0.jpg) / 3 (http://img126.imageshack.us/img126/387/guyveri2ty2.jpg)

Negima is nowhere near to being a shoujo manga.
It's a shounen manga all the way, that's why there's plenty of fanservice and TONS of fights. And as far as the fights go, they're incredibly awesome.
seriously where are u guys getting ur tenjou tenge manga?

Well, I use either Tokyotosho for torrents of the latest stuff, or #lurk if I miss chapters. In orka's case, he just reads the raws so he's pretty much always ahead since fugu doesn't translate the chapters ASAP, I assume so that they will be somewhat better quality.

Champloo and Ippo aren't part of it.
Might as well finish Koi Kaze tho' and probably get into Haibane Renmei and Requiem from the Darkness....
STILL fucking waiting on my Vagabond manga to arrive from the VIZ manga sale. I think since I ordered all the way up to vol.23 it won't get here until vol.23 is released

Apparently they're remaking the Guyver anime series if anyone's interested. In other news, I finally realized the symbol on Shin's eyepatch in Tenjho isn't a swastika. It actually means peace and tranquility in Buddhism. That's one hell of a disambiguation.

The remade Guyver anime has been finished for a while, the first DVD is coming out in the US in November I believe.
As for the "swatstika" thing, that's because the Nazi's stole the symbol and twisted it into their own meaning. And of course because of that, shit like Neji's curse seal has to be censored haha.

What are some good stand-alone kind of movies, like akira or princess monosuke(sp)?

it should be in the issue where his hair changed..its at the end of the tradeback i believe.
also i heard he did sumtin for lili but cant find a drawing for lili or even dragonov.
i think the raven haircut was just a nod to the fact he was doing tekken 5 stuff...not to say he did anything for raven in tekken.

Hey, OOORRRKKKAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Question about Galaxy Angel, which came first, the anime or the manga?
Does the anime EVER include that commander from the manga, or is it purely just slapstick / comedy?
I enjoy both, but I'm leaning towards the manga simply because of the romantic factor involved.
;p
