Haha, if anything, i thought the episode with Tama was the most boring of the beginning "focus on one girl ones" (where i think you cant judge if a series is boring or not until after the "series plot" starts around maybe ep 8?

But yeah, To Heart 2 isn't exactly the epitome of an exciting anime. But yeah, there's plenty of that type for a reason, but i dunno, im more into character development than a huge plot, so romance/harem type animes are generally enjoyable for me.

Warpticon- I never fully saw the first series, only a few eps, and yeah, from what i saw, not a lot happened, hell, the first ep was the class rep folding paper for half the episode, jeez. But i watched To Heart: Remember My Memories, which i really liked, but i liked To Heart 2 a bit more.

TH:RMM was like, the guy was a dick, but all the girls still liked him.
TH2 was like, the guy was super super nice and half the girls "hate him" (at least they say that, but it wouldnt be anime if they didn't have their "feelings" for him, even if they display hate, or whatever bs you wanna pull out. =P

I picked up Dragon Ball Z Season One Uncut on DVD for $34.99 today at Circuit City. When I saw the ads for it on TV, I thought for sure this would cost about 60 bucks. I didn't expect to find it at Circuit City and at that price. This saves me the trouble of having to buy the rest of the Vegeta Saga DVDs since this 6 disc set has them all. I remember watching this series yeaaaaaaaaaaaaars ago and thinking it was this totally serious love story. As a manga, it actually stays that way (beautiful art too). As an anime though, Sailor Moon is a fucking moron and they know it (thus far). The show's already gone so far as to acknowledge the fact that the other Sailors do all the work while she just throws that damned tiara. The show actually makes fun OF ITSELF sometimes. That's fucking gold if you ask me.

Like when they're all transforming they usually transition from one Sailor to the next as they upchuck their lines of protecting justice and all that shit, ending it with the pose you've seen fifty million times before.

I just caught ep 30 where Jupiter, Mercury, and Moon all transform, but the enemy is in this narrow alley, so they're like scrunched up and mad uncomfortable. Sailor Moon goes to do her trademark pose and ends up fucking clocking Jupiter in the face and elbowing Mercury in the mouth. The enemy begins to make a move, at which point Sailor Mercury goes to do her Bubble Spray and falls flat on her damn face, giving Jupiter an upskirt shot of a lifetime. The enemy's been watching the whole time and just decides to be like: "Fuck this shit," and disappears right there.

Anybody watch "Welcome to the NHK?" I just finished it the other day. The first half is quirky/fun, the second half is more drama. It was okay, maybe a 3.5/5, but because of it I know what a hikikomori is now, and I've made it my goal to become one this quarter ^^

I watched the first disc. Picture quality is amazingly good. I've never seen the first eps of DBZ look so freaking gorgeous. In addition to the original Japanese language and soundtrack you can also watch it with the English dub voices with the Japanese soundtrack or us American soundtrack. I watched the first 3 eps with English dialogue and Japanese soundtrack and it wasn't too shabby, but man, I gotta say, I prefer the American soundtrack to the Japanese version. I suppose me and Million are the only ones who feel that way. Gonna watch more tomorrow after work.

I'm into shows like Trigun, Cowboy Bebop, Outlaw Star, Rurouni Kenshin, Dragonball, Samurai Champloo, Bleach, Naruto, Fullmetal Alchemist, Yu Yu Hakusho, Inuyasha, FLCL, Blue Gender, Ghost in the Shell, Gundam, Hellsing etc. So, basically when it comes to anime, I haven't seen much. However, the ending could have been so much more dramatic and the buildup to the finale happened way too quick. It's a decent anime, but there are funnier and smarter series.

I'm also going to try to get my hands on Death Note. I saw the first episode. It was intriguing as hell, makes me want to power through the entire series in a few days.

adv verison is the direct home video which is evry uncut. didn't we cover this already 3 pages back?

yea the ending for the ugly and beautiful world really killed the whole show, the animation is great, just it looked liked gainx pushed animation more then story,then again were talking of gainx.

I wouldn't call it a waste of a show. I have a lot of respect for The Ugly simply because it's an original anime. There was no manga or a built-in audience to fall back on.

The series creator worked on the Mahoromatic series which I thought was very good (though some say the ending is questionable, I'm still undecided and I finished that series months ago). For being an original work I thought The Ugly was decent.

So actually bought some anime for the first time in a long time. Ended buying the Cheap Box Set for Giant Robo(all I really needed was vol.2). Series kicked alot of ass and the ending was :wow: inducing. Gonna watch the Ginrei specials right now....

Easily one of my all-time greats.


Read volumes 2&4 of Lady Snowblood. Gotta pick these up as well. Ending was pretty sweet wrapped it up beautifully.

Been watching the uncuts of DBZ season one. Oh man, it's too good. Nappa against everyone... Was the stuff of legends. Loved how Krillien was able to get in some good hits on Nappa. Nappa just punched off Tien's hand like it was nothing. I cringed when it happend. Then it was down to Piccolo, Krillen and Gohan. Even though the odds were heavily against them, they were still formulating plans. Man, this had to be one of the few times in the series were it wasn't a one-on-one fight. And Goku showed up, all ticked off at the sight of his dead friends. Goku making light of Nappa was priceless. Vegeta kills Nappa because he can no longer fight. Awesome.

I'm on the Goku vs. Vegeta eps right now. I've never actually seen this fight but I've read about it in the manga. Oh man, this fight is top tier in animated form. The Kamehameha Wave against the Galick Gun was done superbly well. With all the flashes going on, I'm glad I'm not prone to seizsures. I can't wait for uncut DBZ season two where the go to Namek.

Just finished watching episode 18 of Death Note...I really do not like where it's going. There are also seems to be a few holes in the events that took place, and generally the characters agree to do some very unreasonable things that I can't see anyone agreeing to if they were in that situation. Meh, hopefully this show doesn't go downhill from here...

Just finished watching episode 18 of Death Note...I really do not like where it's going. There are also seems to be a few holes in the events that took place, and generally the characters agree to do some very unreasonable things that I can't see anyone agreeing to if they were in that situation. Meh, hopefully this show doesn't go downhill from here...

Finished watching Season One of DBZ uncut. Man, the whole Gok vs. Vegeta fight was dope. The eps were Gohan and Krillin had to come and help Goku were great. In regular Dragon Ball and then later in DBZ it was always Goku showing up to save everyone else. This time, Goku had to be saved by his friends.

Vegeta was truly ruthless back in the early DBZ games. Killing off Nappa, nearlying destroying the Earth with his Galick Gun and beating on Gohan. Man, I was loving it.

L isn't autistic enough; he seems too normal. That seemed to kill the series for me. I'll keep watching it, but not as a first priority. I have feeling they won't be cover every character/event in the manga but I know the ending has to be different (and hopefully BETTER than the manga).

I watched the first episode, and will probably watch the rest of the series, because I have a fascination with trainwrecks. But make no mistake; that show is awful. It's disjointed, makes no recognizable attempt at connecting the original to the new (so if you missed the first, you're severely fucked), and most amazingly...for a show that has about a 15 to 1 fanservice-to-plot ratio; for a show that got its first panty shot in less than half a minute into the show; for an episode in which nothing actually happened and action was limited, so it couldn't have been *that* stressful on the animation budget...the art, man. It's absolutely HIDEOUS. How do all the supposedly hot beyond belief broads end up looking like they're made of Legos? Seriously, how do you fail at drawing tons of hot chicks?

I've seen four of the five seasons (I still have to steal the fifth season because it's not available in any DVD format). But Sailor Moon is the truth. Throw out any preconceived notions about the series and you are guaranteed to enjoy the show.

X 1999 was the movie. Now if you haven't read the manga and saw the movie first (like I did) you will be confused as hell. There's just way too many characters to keep track of. Which brings me to...

X the series. Fantastic anime. All fans of anime should see this. You won't get confused because the series actually takes its time explaining the characters. Some may say it's slow at times and sometimes the episodes seem out of place(because of flashback and exposition episodes).

But the action is solid and the ending is very unexpected, very different from the movie, but logical at the same time. Trust me when you see the ending to X the series it could only happen that way.

If you like action anime then Trigun and Cowboy Bebop have to be recommended. Another one that is interesting, but not heavy on action is Mahoromatic. It has good action scenes when they actually throw down. It's very funny and there's a TON of fan service. Plenty of "oh shit" moments too. See both seasons. I think it's a solid, underrated series.

Yeah the ending was rushed. I did not like the tone, it was too sad for my taste.

Spoilers ahead....







You knew Mahoro would stop functioning in X amount of days. There would have to be a doomsday at some point in the series. Just because Mahoro ended up exploding all over the place in the second to last episode doesn't mean that the audience is cheated out of the doomsday that was fated to Mahoro.

However, the final episode seemed like a big clusterfuck and was painful until the end. So apparently Mahoro (the robot) was a creation in the image of Matthew. So the Mahoro we see is actually the Matthew that is spoke of throughout the series.

But why was Mahoro created? Why would Matthew create something to fight against Management and Saint? Wasn't Saint the organization that was all hard for Matthew? That would be the equivalent of God sending Jesus here to preach the teachings of the Devil.

Even with all this fumbling and fucking up, the ending finishes somewhat happily. But why did Matthew have to wait so God damn long to send that Mohoro back and end Suguru's suffering? That might fuck someone up even more. At least we know the two are together and it finishes upbeat.

One last thing, I love Slash, he was an awesome character. The two episodes where he responds, "Okay, my master," Slash really saves the day. The first was in season one when Suguru wanted to know where Mahoro went. And the second, and I thought this was the best part of the series, was when Slash accompanied the Vesper executive to that ball. And then the Vesper executive unleashed Slash on basically ALL of Management and Saint, killing the shit out of everybody in the process. Awesome stuff.




End of spoilers.


Although the ending is questionable you can't doubt that the series was funny, dramatic and action packed. I was pissed about the ending of Boys Be, but I still thought it was an excellent series and I think the same of Mahoromatic.

Not only are the voices usually bullshit, but the lines are changed, raping any meaning a joke or insult might have toward another character.

I just finished watching DN Angel like five minutes ago. That anime is solid like a raging hard on.

The final episodes had everything: good battles, lives in danger, a sense of urgency, sad scenes, happy scenes, it was the way an anime series should wrap up.

Blood+ was my favorite anime of 2006. Definitely worth watching. It starts a bit slow, but it gets really good later on. There are some crazy plot twists later on that caught me by surprise. Overall, it's one of the best action animes I've seen in a while. Ending was really sad and sweet at the same time. I almost cried. :sad:

One of the best things about the series is the soundtrack. It truely is academy award winning material, IMO. Orchestrated soundtracks for the fucking win. Produced by Hans Zimmer, by the way.

I read it first and then watched it.

The manga keeps a happy / comedic tone for a little bit but then dives straight into the romance / serious past / future stuff in regards to Sana, her mother, and her boyfriend's name (who's name escapes me). I mean I was pretty damn surprised to see them go as far as they did, because I originally thought it was kiddy shit too.

The anime overflows and fucking floods anyone watching with its energy and comedy, like overkill x 1,000,000, but it's still good. How they managed to take 10 volumes and get 100+ episodes out of it I don't know, but they did, and it's awesome.

As for Blood+, I only saw up to ep 10.

IMO, some of the action scenes are well done... but some more than others. The story and the ass-loads of drama make up for it all though. Also, music makes the mood perfect in all the scenes.

Anyway, you'll love the show, and the things it will teach you; some very truthfull messages throughout each episode in this anime, but they only become apparent when you consider them instead of dismiss them (most people undermine messages and morals in anime because they don't think anime can be serious).

On that note, blushing Kallen = moe. I also like how her breasts jiggled when she fell over on to her jacket during the campfire scene. I've never been this enfatuated with a character since... since... I don't even know. @_@

Chobits was one of the first series i watched, and i was like "OMG ITS SO GOOD" but after seeing like, a bunch of other things that are actually good, going back to chobits, i saw how generic and boring it really was for me. When i had nothing to compare it to, it seemed good at the time, but compared to any half-way decent anime, i rank chobits pretty low on my list.

Same with Love Hina, which was my second anime, nothing to really compare it to so i liked it, but nowadays its too repetitive and the "humor" portion of it gets old fast.

(Fushigi Yuugi was my first anime, but that was mainly cause my sister was using my TV to watch it, so i just watched it with her. Tho that thing is on a plane of its own, so i usually just dont really count that.)

I actually like Love Hina, only in manga form.

I watched the anime years ago, and I got so absurdly frustrated that the little romance that was in the show just kept on getting kicked around, went nowhere, and then ultimately got reset at the end. The OVAs that followed didn't redeem the series in that aspect either, and that includes LHA.

Then I read the manga. God, that shit is in another class in comparison to the anime. It has actual character development, plot development, plot progression and ROMANCE. Yeah, you can still call it a harem show, but after a certain point you knew that shit was all Keitaro / Naru. Hell, it's one of the few shows where the main characters switch roles. Keitaro spends 65% of the story chasing a dream and a purpose, then he finally gets his shit together, and then Naru spends 35% doing the same. That way you got both sides.

I really enjoyed it though, it was a very fun read, and the ending was just right.

I was still cheering for Mokoto though, she started my little infatuation for cheering for the underdog that would inevitably get nowhere. She was hotter then all of them though, that's for sure.
