Legend of the Galactic heroes is owning right now though. One of the best shows I have ever seen. I really wish a space opera could be done in similar fashion on network TV.

I'm going with xxxHOLiC because I was already in the middle of it, but from just one episode of Geass and the positive reaction from pretty much everybody, not just here, but on numerous sites, I can tell Code Geass is a fucking beast.

Damn, I hate being behind. Glad Central is back on track: I may do a marathon tonight even though I really need to be doing other stuff. I'm about 6 episodes behind right now. I'm going to assume that Julian is no closer to tapping Katerose in six episodes.

Geass is very dense. It's one of those shows where you'll find a lot of stuff watching thorugh a second time. I watched some of the earlier episodes again when I was going through some of the boards after watching 22 (I felt like I seriously needed a fucking support group after watching that episode), and I kept seeing stuff that I hadn't really caught or didn't totally grasp the first time.

As for 23, it's the end of the regular season. There will be two more eps aring sometime this summer, and then season two starts in the fall. I'm going to be sick of waiting. I almost wish I didn't know about it, so I could be surprised, like I was with Black Lagoon Second Barrage.

xxxHOLiC episode 11 was about the Rain Sprite trying to set up the Vestal Sprite with Watanuki. Episode 12 featured a trip to a summer beach house and there were evil spirits there of course.

Aside from Rozen Maiden at the moment, there was only one other anime that left a hole in my heart. And that's the Nakoruru OVA, only one episode was released and it ends on a HUGE cliffhanger. Episode two got canned and I'm left crying. :sad:

And One Piece is a lot more graphic in manga form. So many of the characters lose gallons of blood and take vicious hits in the fight, its beautiful. One of my favorites is the Baratie/Don Krieg fight, Luffy takes shit loads of damage and still stomps a mudhole in Krieg's ass. Zoro usually either cuts and/or gets cut the fuck up in his fights as well.

Giant Robo has got me thinking, I will have to look for more little talked about classics I have missed. Also I need to pick up Big O season 1 and 2.

Just finished watching the first episode of Darker than BLACK, starts off really slow but shows some promise. Hoping to learn more about the characters and the world they reside in with the following episodes as not much has been explained just yet (matter of fact episode 1 starts off by basically throwing you in the middle of something :confused: ).

I'm going to give the next couple of episodes a chance, if it doesn't progress to my liking I'll drop it. Still worth looking into though.

I just watched Lucky Star just before Darker than BLACK and I have mixed feelings about what I saw. The dialogue featured is terribly mundane, although I'll admit that I smirked over the conversation concerning the relation between colds and influenza. That aside the episode was rather devoid of life despite the lively intro.

What I do like is the implied fact that Kona-chan is a pervert, that just appeals to me for all kinds of reasons. :rofl: Plus her beating the shit out of Guile was funny.

I'm gonna stick with it for a while, maybe even see the whole thing through, we'll see.

Don't believe the haters about Evangelion. It is an excellent series. However, you must see the movie immediately after the watching the series because that in my opnion is the true ending.

Cowboy Bebop is great. At first I thought it was the best anime ever. Now that I've seen more, it's still top tier rather than king of the mountain. It's is a very cool story and the ending is intriguing.

Trigun is also top tier. It is a slow anime at the beginning. But once you get to the heart of the series it is an excellent story (I still have questions about it, but I'm not confused, you know kinda like watching the Matrix over to fully understand it). And the final battle is one of the best fights around.

Elfen Lied is good. Definitely worth a watch. Short too, so it won't waste your time.

Rurouni Kenshin is a very LONG series. I have seen the movie which is just a cut of a few episodes and it was fantastic. It was dramatic, romantic and action packed all at the same time. How many movies can you truly say that about?

Just started Gundam Seed Destiny.It's aight so far.

I do have a gripe with Impule Gundam though.The way that thing is set up is a DISASTER waiting to happen.Unlike other Gundams that have pretty much a preset body type(Except for the occasional Gundam that can transform),this particular Gundam is launched,and assembled in PIECES(Torso/Cockpit,Legs,and Upper Body).One of these episodes I know some random Gundam is going to interefere with the assembly process and leave Shinn really screwed.It's a Gundam not some power rangers zord.

Just started Gundam Seed Destiny.It's aight so far.

I do have a gripe with Impule Gundam though.The way that thing is set up is a DISASTER waiting to happen.Unlike other Gundams that have pretty much a preset body type(Except for the occasional Gundam that can transform),this particular Gundam is launched,and assembled in PIECES(Torso/Cockpit,Legs,and Upper Body).One of these episodes I know some random Gundam is going to interefere with the assembly process and leave Shinn really screwed.It's a Gundam not some power rangers zord.

Cool idea,but its setting up Shinn to be really screwed over.

I watched a bit of Haruhi,I didn't like it that much,but the majority of people I know do like it,so you can give it a try.

3)Death Note is VERY worth watching.Action,Mystery,Drama,it's got it all

4)Hajime No Ippo's story isn't anything that we haven't heard before(Kid that was bullied learns how to defend himself,and proves to everybody that he isn't weak)

i dunno, but that fight actually quickly turned madoka into one of my favorite characters. she's awesome.

my favorite battle is still maya versus tetsuhito. that shit was too good. reiki activation is broken.

Not only do you get where the entire series starts from and gets most of its inspiration from (lets face it, the first half of Seed is really just a crappier, less believable version of MSG with better animation), but you also get what is considered one of the best, if not the best, Gundam series of them all. There are really only 2 knocks against watching that instead of any other Gundam series:

1-There is, at this point in time, no way to get an original Japanese dub, but the English dub is acceptable.

what codecs do I need for media player classic to play mkv's? In fact what are all the codecs I need period for avi's and mp4's and all that. vlc just isn't working for me when I play them, it's always freezing and crashing on me. I figured it'd just be best to go back to media player classic.

EDIT: Well I found an old cd that I had put all my old codecs on, I installed them all and got media player classic and the mkv's seem to be working just fine now.

EDIT #2: I was watching nodame that warpticon linked, which is why I was asking about mkv's, and I was checking out episode 8 and it looks like the subs are kind messed up when she's singing some fart song, they overlap the japanese subs and there are these random hex looking codes that appear in front of them, any idea's on how to fix this? I checked it out on vlc player and that hex code isn't there and it doesn't overlap, though it does eventually freeze and crash. maybe I am doomed to never being able to watch mkv's I wish it was just not embedded into the file. the 2 episodes of the nodame drama I managed to find were hard subbed and worked just fine.

So yeah, I watched Lucky Star ep 1 this morning and I feel the same way that everyone else does. I could see the humor in talking about eating random foods, but it drug out far too long. Konata is the only one with any real personality to her, being that she's a lazy, but strangely athletic, otaku; everyone else seems rather dull and void of a personality that stands out. There were a few humorous parts, but the best one was about Konata beating up Guile (completely random... lol hurricane kicks). However, I was expecting something with more energy... like Azumanga or Ouran High School Host Club. Scene progression didn't make much sense... in fact it seemed kind of random. Episode 1 was literally about nothing... no coherent plot to it whatsoever.

Overall it was a bit disappointing... the best part being the insane OP and Konata's silly ¦3 face.

Hopefully episode 2 will pick things up a bit... or I'll probably lose interest. I was really looking forward to this series as well. What the fuck Mr. Haruhi Director? I expected better from you! T_T

yes, I certainly hope he can pull off a few more wins before the series' end. hell, I wouldn't mind if he decided to join up with Mitsuomi (who's been wanting to train him for a while) and get a few pointers so he can get stronger and compete with the rest of the cast. he's got the potential, as Mitsuomi said.

honestly, it's annoying when some characters are sometimes left in the dark or are vastly undermined by everyone else. Chad from Bleach is a good example as he's lost a lot more fights then he's won...and when he DOES win he loses immediately after. Yeah, it's probably because he runs into some seemingly broke-tier opponent right afterwards, but...

Sometimes I think shounen characters should be balanced in a way that One Piece does it - each character can at least hold their ground in their own way. No one (at least the way I see it) is truly weak, and they don't always need to rely on the buff main character (Luffy in this case, or other character) to come save them all the time.

I'm not going to say I dislike Haruhi, because I honestly don't, and I don't have any reason to. However, I DON'T like the fandom (which is what you're referring to), but this in no way affects my opinion of the series itself. GC's feelings about Haruhi are pretty much identical to mine. I enjoyed the series. I don't understand the preliminary hype at all, and I only understand the post-watching hype somewhat. That did not affect my enjoyment of the show at all, because it was quite entertaining when it wasn't just being weird to be weird.

So I mentioned earlier that I was going to follow the new Cameltousen series because I like trainwrecks. For anybody who hasn't seen it, it pretty much sucks in exactly the same ways the first series sucks, plus a couple more. Specifically, the art and animation are absolutely laughable. The show is about, like, 90 thousand hot chicks, and somehow they all run like cardboard cutouts and are shaped like Lego men. Except for Kan-u. In fact, everything good about the show is pretty much Kan-u. She's one of three characters with an actual personality, she somehow comes off as dignified despite wearing the shortest skirt and shortest shirt ever, and most importantly, she carries a fucking halberd everywhere. She's the diamond in the shitpile. Also, new characters are introduced in volume and circumstances so disjointed and overwhelming as to make the show completely unwieldy. You have to be trying your ass off to remember who's on whose team and what they're trying to accomplish with only a single watch. Sadly, it doesn't suck enough to really be funny (okay, the shitty art/animation is funny at times), so it's not the trainwreck I wanted it to be. I'm torn on continuing. I'd watch a Kan-u spinoff show, though.

listen to this man...if u just started with like seed or wing as your first series ur gonna think everyone is gay or sum shit. Old school gundam ftw...and gundam g haha. gundam g is a must.

Gundam Wing is the first gundam series I've truly watched and it is still by far the best one I've seen :tup: . Later I watched almost every gundam series and I still think it's the best although there are some really good ones too. Just as a heads up Gundam Wing and G gundam are much different then most of them they also take place in a very alternate universe(s) compared to most of the rest of the Gundam series.

:lol: I remeber G Gundam also it's like a straight cross of Gundam Wing and Dragon Ball Z but it's still interesting to watch. :lol:

although one I really really didn't like and one you should probably skip or not watch at all :shake: is Gundam 0080.
