Aw dudes. Cyborg 009 Uncut & Unedited is AWESOME!! I really, really like this series now. Even more than when I watched it on Cartoon Network. The way 009's acceleration power work is just killer! When he turns that sucker on, everything is in slow motion. I love how they made that work out in anime form. The anime sticks pretty close to the manga with some changes here and there but the changes don't really bother me. And intro is awesome and the music for this series rocks. I've only seen the first two eps but I'm already hooked. They'd better release the whole series on DVD!!!Eveyone I know hates it, cause it just looks gay like astroboy.

one piece more suffering news the first dvds comes out only problem.... its just foxkids dub verison with no subs and toei seems be one whose doing the dvd so there going milk this show with dub first then subtrack to follow with of course there god awful subs, and other screwups. so honesty forget about picking up dvd verison of op with good subscript cuz toei is dragging bad here , atleast naruto not getting the scrwed like this but anyway.

Raxephon, Evangelion, Gasaraki (and Gundam to a lesser extent) all seem to borrow a few too many of the same themes.

Watched Record of Lodoss War OVA. Probably A+ or B+. I wasn't too happy with the transfer (and I hate the transfer on the TV series). This series made me want to go play an old school RPG, when you used to be a knight instead of all this new futuristic meldodrama.

Nausicaa. A+. This movie is awesome. Nuff said. I need to check out Miyazaki's other films (only seen Princess Monoke, Spirited Away and this).

Finally checking out Naruto.

Since so many people liked it, I immediately disregarded it, as a bandwagon thing. It's okay actually.

How ever it seems a bit similar to DBZ, and it's a pain that the first 5 minutes is a replay of the previous episode. They also draw out shit as much as DBZ, maybe worse.

D/L season 2 as we speek.

I've watched the DNA^2 anime and read the manga in 2 days...the anime is better for once.

I've had the first 3 eps of mahou sensei negima on my comp for a while, but I keep forgetting it, because the folder is isolated.

I thought the show was okay. It made a lot more sense than the movie. The actions Kamui made seemed to flow logically from his wish to protect Kattori and Fuma.

I liked the violence in the movie more though. It just seemed like a battle for the fate of the Earth. Everybody died except Kamui. In the show, it seemed like four of the Dragons of Heavensurvived (Dog Girl, Sword Girl, Book Editor and One Eye) while the villians had a few survivors.

I'd really like to read the Manga, but I'm not.

I still have to watch Last Exile, Record of Lodoss TV, Boogie Pop Phantom, Lain and a few movies...

Just finished reading I"s vol. 1 and Kenshin vol. 15. I"s is just so freaking good. Romantic comedies in anime/manga form are the best. As for Kenshin 15, Hiko Seijuro faced off with Fuji. Hiko = TEH MASS PWNAGE!!! :wow: Dude is arrogant but he really can back up everything he says. And Yahiko taking down Henya using one of Kenshin's moves was tight!! And Kenshin's fight with Sojuro is pimp!! He actually dodge Kenshin's ultimate move!! I can't wait for vol. 16.

He didn't dodge Kenshin's ultimate move. He dodged the Kuzu Ryu Zen technique, which is not Kenshin's ultimate techniques. Kenshin's ultimate technique is the Amakakeru Ryuu no Hirameki.

Uncut Vegeta Saga of DBZ is teh pwnage of teh yearaaaahhh!!!!

And that hoe that killed Maes Hughes in FMA... Ed & Al better make that freak pay... big time. I still can't get that ep out of my head when he died. On top of that, I DLed a AMV to FMA that includes clips of his death and his funeral. The song playing in the AMV is Pat Benatar's Invincible. Now I didn't give a rat's buttox when the Brigadeer General got messed up by Scar. That jerk was asking to be killed. Heck, I should have stood out of my lounge chair and applauded when he got what he had coming. But killing off Maes Hughes. And his daughter is only 4. :sad: THAT FREAK HAD BETTER PAY!!!

And now that the FMA manga is licensed, I just may start picking that up. No clue how many books it is but since the anime is only 50 eps or so, I'm guessimg it can't be too long.

Now that I'm reading through DBZ manga book 20, I'm really looking forward to watching the Great Saiyaman Saga, even though Gohan looks like a moron in that getup. I've only got 3 more DVDs to go and that box set will be full.

Some of the stuff they do with the bread may seem so outlandish, but I don't know anything about baking so you could probably bake the crazy breads in this anime. Oh. just finished tenjo tenge and i must say it was fucking great. lots of action and fan service = teh win. if any of you were thinking of watching this just some warning, the anime ENDS half way thru the manga. so the ending really sucks cuz its such a cliff hanger. word on the street is they are making OVA's to bring the anime up to speed with the manga. but yeah this is a good one. :tup:

It turns out that Soubi and Seimei used to be a fighting pair, whereby Soubi was the "Fighting Machine" and Seimei was the "Sacrifice". Now that Seimei is gone, Soubi 'belongs' to Ritsuka who will become his new "Sacrifice". After learning that Seimei was killed by an organisation known as the "Seventh Moon", Ritsuka decides to join forces with Soubi and investigate the truth behind his brother's death.

The animation wasn't bad, the use of colors was solid as well. I liked the character design for the main character. I'm not gay but I thought it was attractive.

Huh. I've seen all of those anime except HxH but I never caught any references in the opening. I wasn't really looking for any either though.

Has aAnyone else here watched Inuyasha movie 4? It was alright... just another pointless movie about Inuyasha and co. going to kill some monsters that have no significance on the main story. Normally I don't mind fillers at all but this one was a little boring. But I enjoyed it simply because I was happy to see Inuyasha and Kagome animated once again.

Also, does anyone watch Negima? I had a question about episode 19 (I think it was) with the ghost girl who died back in 1940. Did it ever really explain how she died? I know it probably had something to do with her going out into the storm to protect the flower garden but I think I missed something because I never caught how she died.

Hellsing OVA Tidbits (12:29 PM EDT): Unfortunately I don't have a quotable source for this but it comes from fairly reliable information and will likely be confirmed at Anime Expo next week. A recent Rondo Robe event was held that showcased their Hellsing OVA plans. Apparently the series is being considered open-ended until the manga ends as the author has a specific ending in mind. Each episode, which will start coming out in Japan at the end of this year and is figuring a three year run, will be 35 minutes in length, have a 5.1 soundtrack and will be anamorphic widescreen. The manga author is heavily involved right down to the casting and the animation direction is supposed to be very close to how the manga itself looks. A promo reel that was shown covered material from several volumes of the manga, including up to volume eight which is as of yet uncompiled. Thanks to Duckroll for passing on the information.

Something I was wondering from anyone who knows. How are the Ghibli releases from Disney? Dr. Slump vol. 2
Hunter X Hunter vol. 3

Kenshin vol. 16 explains Sojuro's tragic past. Kid was taken in by a foster family that hated him and beat him. So he kept smiling so they'd get tired of abusing him. He also met Shishio as a kid. Shishio gave him a swrod. When his foster family was about to kill him, he used the sword to off his jerks-for-a-foster family. Now I'm not saying they deserved the axe (or sword in this case), but at the same time, for the way they treated Sojuro, I didn't have an ounce of sympathy when he did cut them into pieces. Filthy scumbags. For the first time, I actually felt sorry for Sojuro.

But when Sojuro fought Kenshin, Sojuro's emotions came back. It messed him up on the inside. You could even tell Sojuro was getting mad. As I was reading, I could see it in the way he spoke and by the look on his face. For someone who spends 99% of the time smiling to surpress his emotions, that was rather strange. Of course the return of Sojuro's emotions also ment that the battle was Kenshin's.

I guess the Kyoto story acc is coming to a close. The battle between Kenshin and Shishio started a little more than half way through book 16 so things COULD conclude in book 17. Or maybe not. So is the Revenge story arc pretty good? I ask because I really haven't seen or heard anything on it.

no the manga should go between 18 or 19.
revenge arc is preetty good, its kenshin past sins comming back and visting him. kenshin goes through hell
,but it go while though memroies arc goes before revenge arc so you have awhile.

vandread is very good well 2d stage is ,not saying first stage was bad just 2d stage was better overall.

Picked up a few DVDs last night. Got Ichi the Killer Episode Zero that explains how Ichi became Ichi. It was O K nothing grand or sadistic like the manga, but still O K...I guess. It seems like this could be 2 more chapters in the manga but I guess they wanted to give animation a shot or something.

Best Buy had Giant Robo vol.3 for $9.99 so I snatched that up even tho' I still need to get vol.2. Hopefully BB hasn't stopped carrying this series yet.

Also at BB they had a series (one of many) I've been meaning to see for awhile for less than the online stores have been selling it....Black Heaven. I've only watched the first volume so far. The music kicks all kinds of ass. So far it's pretty cool and can't wait to see more. Although mid-way through the fourth episode I thought Oji was a dick but whatever.

Since I got BH from BB the only purchase from the Geneon sale at RightStuf is going to be Captain Herlock OVA vol.3 and vol.4+box.

I got the fansub of Angel's Egg that I still need to watch one of these days.

EDIT: Just purchased the last two volumes of Herlcock OVAs. I'll pick up Champloo vol.2-whatever at the time, Koi Kaze vol.2 and 3, GunGrave Boxset and HeatGuy J set at the next Geneon sale.

Gantz is still good-- manga is better, though.

1.) thehawks.org has vol.4-28 released. Or like Tempest mentioned try skullknight.

2.) The Band of the Hawk arc is 3-13.

3.) I think vol. 30 was just released in Japan and the last vol. I've seen here in the U.S. is 6.

4.) The manga is still going strong it'll be a looooooooooooooooooooooooooong while.

Right Now I'm reading the first Vampire Hunter D novel. It's pretty good so far. What do you guys think of it?

for people that have played the kimi ga nozomu eien game, how the hell do you unlock that alternate reality, i thought you just beat the game(which ive done quite a few times)and then the next time you play your suppose to have the option of playing where haruka doesnt get hit by the car.

I have the special fan disk version to my knoweldge, but I just cant seem to unlock it or something. WTF are you suppose to do?

k since i had wisdom teeth removed this week i have time off so i been watching couple shows that i had black logged, and new shows i picked up like vol7 of gungrave, and elfed lied. i have say that i loved last ep of gungrave although i don't like the scfi elements like necrolyztion project, and superiors which i understood that was only at least level playing field againest grave/braden i will say that ending made me forget bout that . femto your enjoy it when you pick up the boxset. speaking of boxsets the enw haibane renmie box is freaking nice geneon using ABE artwork,and yes i will be double dipping.

I'm starting to like One Piece a whole lot. I just finished watching the Arlong Saga. I don't like the intro song for the subbed version tho. For the first time I actually think that the Hip Hop Cartoon Network version is a lot catchier. The ending song is quite catchy tho.

i wouldn't even say foxverison of op thats airing on cn is full season with the edits. major sad thing is that toei seems be ones thats going handle the dvds and are releasing foxkids verison dvds first and seems there in no rush of releasing uncut sub dvds . which shows they have no freaking respect for the american fans.

true, but at least naruto is not going end up this,and honesty i like the release format. like march 06 is when when cut dvds come out, and every other month new one come out, but after 3 months uncutdvds come out in 13 eps boxsets which first one is due out july. Boku wa imouto ni koi wo suru (movie - incest romance phsycho drama... it's got heavy sexual tones and themes, but no more than "enemy at the gates" or "topgun" types of movies... you still won't feel comfortable watching it with someone else in the room).

Okusama Wa Joshikousei (amusing little drama/comedy thing about a teacher and student hiding their marriage. It's actually pretty plain, but I've only seen 1 episode... I don't, however, recommend it unless you really like subdued sappy jap crap.)

Kidou Shinsengumi Moeyo Ken TV (Amusing little anime with a kenshin type as the lead... wearing that samurai stuff, but it's "camo" styled.)

Kamichu! (what. the. hell. this thing don't even make sense... feels like a continuation of something... doesn't help that I had only the version where they replace the word "gods" with "leechers" in order to make a crack about how softsubs are crappy, but oh well. If you like that feeling at the end of an episode where you scream "WHY?!!!?!?!?!?!" at the screen, try it out).

Picked up the last volume of GTO. All I can say is that this is an awesome series. It got a little too crazy near the end but it was still all good. This is the first manga series I've collected and I'm glad it was this one.

I was going to pick up another manga today that I wish I would have. It's called Robot. The art in this is sooooooo fucking sick, I regret not buying it right then and there, but next payday that fucker is mine :badboy:

Personally, I'm a very impatient and cheap type of person. I really don't want to spend over $200 over the course of a year and a half when I can spend as little as $20 and be done with it. I watched last exile and scrapped princes which i though were horrible. Im confused as to how anyone liked them. Also immoral sisters 2 might be just about the most ludcrious story ive ever seen in a hentai. Watched some of scryed pretty dum, as was narutaru. I want to watch kamichu but it refuses to play correctly on my cpu when the subtitles come up for some reason, and I dun feel like trying to listen to it all in japanese.

I thought school rumble was prett ygood though for what it was for whatever reason though shrug....

As far as anime on dvd...I'm gonna finish up/get caught up with SC, Azumanga Daioh, Maisson Ikkoku and then pick up the Black Jack collections from CPM, Galaxy Railways, GunGrave and the NGE Platinum Editions, then I'm done with it for now, until Basilisk and Speed Grapher get released on DVD. I'm just gonna just stick with manga and old-school anime(Space Runaway Ideon, Xabungle, Ashita no Joe, GE 999, Lupin III and such) for awhile.

Just picked up ROBOT. This shit is pretty sick. The stories are short with some ending just like that and others are going to be continued in vol.2 of ROBOT which doesn't come out 'tull next year :xeye: but I'm more than happy with my purchase.

When I went to pick up ROBOT and BR I saw this book called Japanese in Mangaland: Learning the Basics. It seemed like it helps people read characters(the writing) through manga. Anyone else heard of this? Do you think it'll help with reading characters in Japanese? I have a Japanese book with cds and such but there isn't too much in the way of reading it seems(I'll check again) that's why I ask about this book.

I'm not going to call it a piece of shit anime but I don't get Trigun popularity either. To me it didn't get good until the last few eps but I will admit the last ep was the shit, but gun dual ever.


Right now I'm hook on Requiem from the Darkness, Chrono Crudade and ROD TV. I think I'm the only anime fan in the world who hasn't seen Neon Genesis Evangelion so I got the new remaster series that came out to see what is all the fus is about.

Oh yeah, can someone tell if Peace Maker, Ikki-Tousen and Paranoia Agent are any good cause if so they will be my next pick up.

Theres a new bible black that came out recently... I duno if its the same dude who did the first one but its drawn shitty kinda like the last one was . Sucks, bible black what happend to you, why couldnt you be drawn good like you were in the begining. so so shitty.

on another note ichigo 100% looks to be over(manga that is),and scryed was the worst anime ive seen in recent memory.

I liked scryed. It did something that most fighting anime never do, the characters actually had valid reasons for fighting.

Genshiken: It's pretty good. Nothing spectacular, but entertaining nonetheless. Obviously, since its an anime about anime fans.

Area 88: I like this anime. Alot actually. Kind of old school style, but well done. The story is intriguing from the first episode. Great aeriel action scenes as well. Reminds me of Topgun, but anime.

Gilgamesh: If you're looking for something somewhat different from the norm, this is a good one. Great animations. Very gothic style. The story seems deep and im pretty interested thus far.

Maburaho: It's a lighthearted comedy anime. Reminds me alot of Love Hina or Tenchi. Not bad I guess if you like that kind of stuff and are looking for something new.

Stay away from Burst Angel. It was a huge let down for me since I'm a big fan of Gonzo. Animation is good. Story is bad. Has some good fight scenes but they're far and few between. Not worth buying.

i understand about the feeling for burst angel gonzo is 2d fav stuido only madhouse is above them imho. speaking of which i'm so looking forward for Gankutsuou in
