Because the characters grow in the whole series, first Naruto was a bitch to discipline, later he wants nothing then training. stuff like that...

and Kakashi owns it... once you hear the story behind him and why he wears that cap before his face and shit.... and why he has that sharingan eye... omfshit.... he owns

And Rock Lee owns it =D hes the koolest

And Sakura must die... shes like bulma of DBZ (yes it purely sucks, but she made it suck even more) she doesnt do shit... man have somenoe else in that team or something... bah

misterbean: battle royale isnt an anime :P its kool though... BR2 owned too... except for the fact that 2 kids can destroy a whole army, and the acting of the teacher pissed me off, he is soooo fkn bad at acting, goddammit, he ruined the whole movie for me from the start

The only character that I actually thought seemed cool was Kakashi. I really tried to get into I'm just not really into that kind of anime so I stopped looking at it. The Sharingan stuff didnt come off bad, pretty neat. I appreciate you not going crazy cause I happened to not like the series, since its the b&b of srk anime preference. I actually got from you an accurate and thought out answer something I thought wouldnt happen. Not a fan of DBZ, but the parallel between Sakura and Bulma fits perfectly.

Anyone here seen Ghost in the Shell:Innocence, Memories, or Avalon?

Manga: Don't read too much since I'm in my portfolio but the manga I read:

Shin Seiki Evangelion -Collectors
Hot Gimmick
Yami No Matsuei
NYX

Street Fighter. Mostly I read SF to study certain facets of Alvin Lee and Arnold Tsang's style. I read those book but I find more out of it by studying the intracies of the artwork learning to hone my style.

Because it's Dragonball Z with ninjas, and as much as everyone says they hate DBZ, they know when they first saw DBZ they were like whoa thats cool. Now's it's uncool to like DBZ, because you can be all cool and say "yeah I like that evawhatever show" and everyone who watches that is mature and cool.

Rock Lee is the shit.

I guess to contribute to the thread I should list my whatsit's, I watch whatever's on adult swim/Toonami and read Naruto.

If you forgive Kenta Fukusaku's attempt to be like his father(Kini Fukusaku-passed away prior to shooting) in filming Battle Royale 2, even with a merciful eyes its still not as good as Battle Royale. The soulfulness and angst of the previous cast doesnt seem to measure up and its replaced with over the top war scenes that provide and unneccessary extremity, which in turn reveals the hugest contradiction of Nanahara's intent. A problem that the 2nd movie has and has no real answer to shaking it off. Battle Royale 2 is entertaining and miniscutely heartfelt within the subplots and that in the mist of an interminable mess is commendable. I've seen both films but opted to buy 2 since I already had seen one. It only made me want to buy the first film more. A word of advise, don't watch both in one sitting, the dissappointment of the 2nd film will be staggering.

VICIOUS SLASH: I actually never liked DBZ from the beginning. And I happen to like Evangelion simply because I enjoyed the series and the movies and not because of a trend. It's pretty sad for anyone to like anything simply because of a false movement.

Anyone know if Mitsuko was in Battle Royale 2? I thought I saw her in the movie but she had no name.

Magnetic Rose by far was the best one. Koji Morimoto is amazing as a director. It's hella creepy but it was engaging at least to me. Cannon Fodder blew. Sad dissappointment to me since I'm a fan of Otomo's work. I plan on seeing Steamboy whenever I can get my hands on it. Oshii is quite an "acquired" taste, glad to see someone else enjoyed Avalon.

Well I just used that as an example of people who hate DBZ when you know when they first got into anime they were all "wow thats cool"

It's like, um , just cause your rich and you can afford a Ferrari doesn't you go and shit on the old car you had and loved just because your on to new and better things.

not a big fan of naruto anime. has the tendency of dragging on and the animation is inconsistent. i stopped watching after episode 60. i'm up to date with the manga and it's alright. naruto can be over-rated at times. on another note, i was VERY disappointed with the TJTG anime. Aya looks like a freakin dumbass and i hate her seiyuu. The animation for this show is also inconsistent. The action scenes can be sometimes bland and just lame. Even after all the criticism, there are still some anime i do enjoy. Currently watching: Macross Zero, Monster, and HxH GI Final.

Shows I have or is going to follow on On Demand:

Pretear (I'm liking it so far. Not sure to categorize it as a mahou shoujo anime yet but if so, it'll prolly be 1 of the better ones. The only problem I see is that it might start going into the Monster of the Week theme)
Angelic Layer (Very cool and interesting show. It's my fav. anime On Demand)
Princess Nine (Not too bad. I don't watch many sports anime so I wanna see this through the end)
Steam Detective (This show has nothing on Case Closed. I think it's more action than mystery. The robot is hella tight tho)
FMP (Yeah I'm a bit late on the scene but oh well)
Gravion (I don't think I'm gonna like this but I'm gonna continue to watch it. The action just isn't compelling and to me and I have a feeling that the eps. are gonna be plagued with excessive fan service. I thought the whole "combine robots to create huge mecha" was Voltron gone awry)
Abenobashi (Meh. I'm not finding this show really that funny. Just annoying)
Kurumi 2 (So far, not too good IMO)

And then theres stuff I dled that I watch from time to time and Adult Swim. I wanna get back to watching Lupin the thirrrrddddddddddd!!

you have to NOT take Gravion seriously and realize that its supposed to be somewhat of a spoof of the Voltron days. This is Gonzo having fun with what is mostly a dead genre. Their animation is almost always top tier, and the design of Gravion is really nostalgic. The bright colors, and gundam-ish design are great.

and the fact that masami obari is at the director's helm makes it that much better. While most of his works look great but lack substance, he is a master of old school action.
anyway, take gravion with a grain of salt, and just enjoy the old school goodness with Gonzo animation.

I think you are perfectly right to be hesitant. only the first DVD (first 5 eps) has come out and who knows where the series will go? I mean it could totally suck depending on where the story goes. but if you're going to hate it, then hate it for the story, not for the fact that its a parody of an old genre. :D

and I know I'm like 10 years late...but Tenchi Muyo is hella funny...

I do read the N.A. version of Shonen Jump, and I like all the stuff in it... It's funny because in Yu Gi Oh Yugi sometimes like...kills people, or destroys their souls etc (as a matter of fact he horribly injures someone every other issue, and kills someone ever 3 or so issues)...funny how they never mention that on the cartoon...they should really just get an unedited version and show it on Adult Swim or something, even though I don't get CN. But whatever.

Tenchi Muyo was funny when i first saw it (10 years ago ) but now it just bothers me. I think its all the different incarnationso fthe Tenchi universe that destroyed it. its like gundam. they just wont stop. and IMO those two titles are so DONE.

My bad mistakes about His and Her Secrets.

I found out current manga: Your and My Secret (Ai Morinaga) is released under ADV Manga

Ranma 1/2 meets His and Her Circumstances-
Nanako acted like mean tomboy. Akira acted like wimpy feminine boy. Nanko's grandfather turned on machine for switching their minds into different bodies.
Akira is stuck with Nanako's body. "He" cries and acts too cute. Nanako is stuck with Akira's body. "She" acts like more tough guy. >.<'

It is really funny!!!

I got Psychic Academy Anime. It was little ok. I guess it is not good. I like artwork. But story was ok.

i hated Love Hina when i first started watching it, because it just smacked of a Tenchi clone, but then it really started to grow on me. and i really loved the christmas special. the spring special was just plain weird. I have Love Hina Again, but i have yet to watch it.

I loved the christmas special as well, almost made me cry:( . But the spring movie was just a total filler and nothing really happened 'cept naru's confession at the end. IMO, it woulda been alot better if it was in the Christmas special. I saw Love Hina Again too. It was ok, but there wasn't really any reason to add it. They tried to fix what wasn't broken and possibily made things worse. The characters go through some design changes which IMO didn't like. That's personal preference tho. They overkilled it with fanservice and i think there was just too many things going on. I still say you should see if you liked Love Hina or wasn't pleased with how thing ended cuz the OVAs def. wrapped it up alot better than the original. As a whole though, it's no where near as good as the first.

I remember saber marionette J. I didn't like that gay guy that kept trying to get with Otaru and I was really hoping more of a romance between lime and Otaru:bluu: But in the end, it wasn't half bad.

its been a few years since Ive seen them, but

from what i remember SMJ they were both mediocre. i woudnt mind seeing them again tho to be sure. :/ there was a lot of filler eps in those series, and the main plot seemed like it was just thrown together so they could make more money.

i do remember the first series being FAR better though.

My friend has me watching some anime called Eden's Bowy. I thought it was crap the first couple of episodes, but it started getting a little interesting near episode 8 or so.

I still need to finish watching Wolf's Rain(The last couple of episodes), X(THE LAST TWO EPISODES!!!! ), and the majority of FMA, since I skipped around some of the episodes, not by my own accord of course.

I also finished watching Full Metal Panic a couple of weeks ago, which was pretty good...even though they did nothing to resolve the love triangle. Grr.

As far as manga, I've been reading Battle Royale and JoJo(I'm 20% done with part 3). I NEED to find the first BR movie.

asking price for childs toy from sony was 20 or 30 million for each season i believe 20% from other marketing ideas like plushi, shirts and etc. hence is the reason for fuan buying chunks of a show( still all the luck in world to them dubbing lead character)

naruto price hmm just for one ep is 50,0000 and guy said he believe it could go even higher . and there like only 2 companies going for it.( i'm sure you can guess who) .

shin you may hate the way Xtv .

gungrave story is nothing like the game it has more depth to it.
reason i like gg is it took page out berserk first ep starts you in middle of the series then next batch shows you why harry backstabs branden, and becomes huge mobboss and whole theme of the show remind me so much of berserk.

yes fatalfury funa getting fma is pretty good at least it didn't go to foxkids, or viz wish it was bandai or geneon, but anyway i hope funa does fma the same there doing kiddygrade i just hope with 5 eps instead of 3 thats my only fear. oh it air onAS on nov3.peace

Man where the hell have you been? Everybody's been askin about you.

I bought all the X DVDs. Pretty good stuff (watch those last episodes asap). Full Metal Panic was pretty cool like you said. Bought the entire set of that too. I'm gonna start watching Last Exile next...looks interesting enough.

You can find Battle Royale fairly easy on ebay. I bought the box set of 1 and 2 (2 ain't that bad...just weak compared to the first one). Only cost me 30 bucks and coming from Hong Kong, I got it in a week. Check there.

I'm trying to find a boxset of Cowboy Bebop myself. I never saw MOST of the episodes so I'd be treatin myself to plenty shit I haven't seen if I can find it.

gungrave the game and the anime have nearly the exact same stories with only a few changes, the main one is the very end. The game was simply a action shoot em up so the character design was more off the wall and the story was more alluded to instead of gone into depth the anime clarified everything and made the art designs more "realistic". I cant say that gungrave didn't get its starting inspiration somewhat from berserk but the comic berserk started that way so the tv show was the same while in gungrave everyone was already looking forward to grave from the beginning

there were way too many naruto's but anime expo cosplay isn't exactly about being original its about dressing up as a char u like so i guess that just shows how popular naruto is

You NEED to copy the BR movies for me. And if you don't have them yet, check out the BR manga. Those things are golden.

Animenation has the set for $145. I'm pretty sure Tempest, A-Chan, and the rest can find you some better sites that have them for better prices.

I don't know anything about Last Exile, but if you get a chance check out Full Metal Alchemist when it comes out. Also I've heard alot of good things about Gungrave.

Yeah I'm also keepin' an eye on that on On Demand. I haven't watch alot of eps. but so far everything seems pretty mundane. Nothing bad, but nothing fabulous. The characters look like they were ripped straight off an RPG to me for some reason. I dunno. And the animation are slightly inconsistent if i remembered correctly. Well, I'm still prolly gonna watch some more anyways.

reading up on all of the announcements at AX this year, and there've been a butt-ton of anime licenses. lots of good stuff, but I don't think I can buy it all when they hit stateside. I got all my info from ANN, so you can go there to read more.

adv announced a lot, but the only thing of interest to me is area 88. bandai got sutepri! that's so awesome, I always figured it was more of an adv property - and I wondered why it took so long to get picked up. animenation got guu - I thought squenix should have made their own label: between guu and fullmetal alchemist, they would have had a strong start.

lots of other stuff, but I wanted to note that funimation got tenchi OAV 3 - which is fine, the OAVs aren't THAT great, but I just hope that the english cast of tenchi muyo gets called in for the job, and not funi's internal dub cast. I can't imagine anyone else doing the english voices.

also:
impulse gundam is ugly as hell.

Anyway I'm currently watching the Cell Games Saga on DVD and I'm watching Case Closed at 1AM Mon-Thurs. Tonight's ep looks to be hilarious. heres some pointers on who pick up what.

learn which comapanies use dubbing company calld bangzoom( there only 3 but 2 use bz the most).
2d learn who has biggest marketing branch like tvoulets.
3 follow pattern of who picks up shows from comapanies, like gainax, madhouse, gonzo, bones ,sunraise and etc. meaning like geneon picks up alot madhouse shows, while ADV picks up gainax, and alot gonzo, bandai bones, and sunrise.

I've got TJTG vol. 11 and chapters 70-75 if you still need them.

Also, check out Goth. Its one of my newer favorites. Only been translated up to chapter two. From what I've read so far it seems like a high school version of MPD Psycho.

Here's a brief description:
"Itsuki Kamiyama and his classmate Yoru Morino have a common hobby: they're both interested in murders that happen around them and are themselves drawn into them...

GOTH, Kendi Oiwa's extraordinary manga debut, based on a novel by the critically acclaimed author Otsuichi."

Not the best DBZ movie, but it gets points from me for having the last appearance of Future Trunks.

These days I'm just about caught up with Naruto on the pirate end, and looking into Monster next 'cause I've heard good stuff about it. I heard about it on here, so if it sucks I'm holding this site accountable...sorry, just remembered I'm stealing this shit - so if it sucks all I lose is some bandwidth

On the legit end I'm pissed off because I'm too broke to finish collecting Full Metal Panic and Trigun - not to mention being too poor to buy the City Hunter tv compilations i've been waiting over 10 fucking years to come out. No joke - 10 fucking years...

Isn't that manga about a guy and his dog along with a rock band? I read the first few chapters 2 or 3 years ago but I didn't like much, maybe I should give a second chance. It's a shounen manga after all so I don't think it would carry any yaoi references though.

The anime I am currently watching:

Naruto: It's tight. Don't playahate this. I'm not even reading ahead, altho I have the manga up to chap 219

FMA: Going to make LOTS of $$$ when it hits the US

Tenjo Tenge: Wish it were true to the manga in 'every' aspect

Princess Nine. Cute. At ep 19 so far.

Samurai Champloo: Nice intro music

Anime you should watch:
Hajime No Ippo: What does 'Hajime no' mean anyway
Ninja Scroll the movie
Kenshin, well, maybe the episodes around 49-60 or so
Samurai X

Anime I have and intend to watch someday:
Last Exile
Silent Mobius
Soultaker
R.O.D TV
Devil Lady

DBZ was cool. Final Flash on Cell is possibly one the best scenes in anime.

Hajime no = beginning of
Hajime no Ippo = Ippo's beggining. Kinda appropriate when you consider the start of the series is how he wants to reinvent himself. Love the hell out of the series...

HAH! I knew I wasn't the only one who dug Princess Nine

Rurouni Kenshin is absolutely awesome. I particularly like the bad guy who was shot 13 times and set on fire. Everyone like to start their fights by saying how rough their life is and how they turned into killing machines. This fool was all "I got shot 13 times and set on fire bitch! Fuck your dead momma, fuck your dead teacher, and fuck your stupid burnt down village! I'm mummified swiss cheese! You bitches got nothing on me! Nothing!!"...well, he didn't actually say that(but he should have)

princess nine , devilady are very good shows. goes show you that series that has no hype behide can be very good hit. another sleeper hit shows you might want check out are kino journey, heat guy j, 12 kingdoms, figure 17.

add kiddy grade to your list very recommend don't let the first 5 eps fool you there is very superb plot in that series.

i just wonder what funa plan on releasing fma (i.g eps counts, and release dates normal 2 months or super duper quick release like KG)

got my rah movie/ art box today. better all around
then the white cheap , bad design box. now all i need do is d/l the japanesse r2 covers have the perfect collection of rah.
and the book is very helpful on rah.

thats not only thing that came in mail today
... the new eva platutim with artbox... just one word... perfection they weren't lying when they said they remaster everything. enough of my rambles.

question time there 2 shows comming up

one called popotan
and other is called Aquarian Age scale one to 10 how are they?

You are right about DevilLady it is very underrated show. Script and story was handled by Konaka(he did hellsing, Techonlyze, and some of the scripts for Rahxephon.

Anything worked on by Konaka is more than likely gonna be good!;)

Don't know why technolyze gets no love. Best anime to be released this year IMO.
I was kinda expecting this to happen since the average anime fan does doggy tricks for shows like Chobits.:lame:

Well in the meantime I don't have BT, so I can't watch Samurai Champloo like I want. Gungrave's animation isn't the best but its a TV series so I sort of expected the animation to only be good in the beginning of it when Nightow did some key animation. I guess I wanted to find a way to get some early because its gonna take a long time for US to release all of Gungrave. FMA is alright, haven't seen enough of it to judge it.

*Question: Does the animation in Gungrave get worse after the first few? Its not that the animation was that great in GG but I mean it gets WORSE than that?

oh i meant fansub dvds people call them imports but there waste of money. this reason i don't like buy them.

reason 1

there cram like 6 or 8 eps on single layer dvd.... thats just dumb that kill the animation, and end up looking very choppy, and have rainbow effect and other bugs.

reason 2 subs are most of the time spelled wrong like people having different names. like vandread one of the characters name was dita on fansub no lie her name is like 8714580 .
and subs are mistimmed like comming after when character has already open his mouth and walked away and some eps make no sense.

i don't care bout if people buy them or what not i went that route before . i can understand where people are comming from less dvds, more eps, less money have spend which is true, but when you break it all your buying is crappy verison of that show.

co-sign, Gonzo is so awesome. I really love the quality they put into series. Madhouse is always good, and they don't seem to fail at having quality with probably the exception of X >_<....Why oh why lol *prevents himself from rant*

From what I've seen Gungrave is done excellently, namely Nightow's hand's on approach helped alot. I;m not sure he continues to do Key Animation throughout the series but his work is greatly appreciated. Anyone seen Gad Guard? Looks hella good can't wait to see it.

i put madhouse above gonzo just with sheer amount of top shows madhouse has put out thus far, don't get me wrong i love last exile, kiddygrade, she ulitmate weapon, and
Kaleido Star (which i will start on that series again very soon)
but rest of the shows are just ways for gonzo show off there 3d eye candy animation with no real story ( burst angel, ffu) fall into this.
only madhouse show that i was disappointed was ninja scroll. but this just my own taste.

Well its tough to capture Mokona Appapa's character designs on screen is an ardous task which is a given and I didn't expect it to be extremely accurate but nonetheless the dismal presentation dissapointed me abit. Then again X Japan had animation clip of what looked to be a ad for "X TV" (Which Madhouse created) that came out probably 10 years ago and looked better than the TV series...something about hand painted cel animation that just makes it more convincing.

Aside from the animation, that bothered me though Kawajiri directed it, there wasn't much passion in the story and how it was told. Almost like it was half-assed since he probably was preparing to do "PROGRAM" and help Takeshi Koike with "WORLD RECORD", both from the "Animatrix" project. I was hoping Kawajiri would really get into the story and create his world within it like he always does but it seemed restrained. Its also the fault Nanase Ohkawa's pacing of the manga with which there wasn't even an attainable conclusion much similar to the demise of the first "X" film directed by Rintaro, which I admit with the limited amount of material he had he made an interesting movie to say the least.

In overview, X TV isn't really for hard-core fans as it barely tips the iceberg of the original story and offers probable ending for Ohkawa's probably picking from the final installment of the manga. For anyone who didn't read the manga its more of an "average" shoujo-esque anime. I expected more from X TV but given the current trends in Japan even studios like Madhouse have skeletons in their closet. Well look at it this way, at least it was better than Yami No Matusei. I wished those rumors were true that Anno Hideaki Was to direct it and that JC Staff had nothing at all to do with the animation.

xtv series is very good in my opinion it follows the manga half way. they left out alot parts, but left good chunk of story in there( just the medciore ending ,but its far better then movie lol. and madhouse captured the characters wonderful .

people complain bout first eps were slow. which were talking about X here not naruto or action show. and i thought eps got you understand the characters more then what the movie did.

Anyways, I saw you all were discussing good studios for animation. I'll agree with you on both Madhouse and Gonzo, but my favorite would have to be Studio Pierot. They've done some pretty good works, my favorite being Saiyuki. The animation on it is amazing. And do I even have to mention Naruto?

any of you nerds seen either of these?

SKY BLUE, 2004, Maxmedia, 86 min. Dir. Moon-saeng Kim. One of the most visually stunning animated science-fiction films ever made, SKY BLUE is set in a post-apocalyptic future where the fortunate few are gathered in a protected mega-city called Ecoban, while others are left to perish in the polluted wastelands outside. A daring young rebel named Suha decides to challenge the status quo – and runs smack into his childhood love, gorgeous, gun-toting Jay, now a member of Ecoban’s security force. If you’re a fan of BLADE RUNNER/GHOST IN THE SHELL type sci-fi, we guarantee you’ll get a blast out of SKY BLUE. A selection of the 2004 Sundance Film Festival. Discussion following with Sunmin Park, writer/producer and director of the English-language adaptation.
DEAD LEAVES, 2004, Manga Ent./Production I.G., 58 min. Dir. Hiroyuki Imaishi. Strap yourself in for the most wildly demented Japanese anime we’ve EVER seen, an incredibly mutated sci-fi/sex/action flick that plays like Paul Verhoeven, MAD magazine and artist Richard Williams thrown into a blender. From Production I.G., the groundbreaking studio behind BLOOD – THE LAST VAMPIRE, DEAD LEAVES is set on a satellite prison in space filled with unwanted mutants. Our "heroes" are a skinny guy with a TV for a head and an incredibly hot chick with a psychic eyeball. Together they lead their fellow prisoners (including a dude with a huge drill for a prongster) on a hellzapoppin’ escape filled with blood, bullets and more flying body parts than we can count.

Yeah. The new name's stupid as hell. Anyway that Korean animated movie is named as "Wonderful Days" and it did have a bit of hype when it was released in theaters two years ago. It's actually not that bad, but let me say it definitely could not live up to the hype. It's very good looking though.

yea they had wolf rain, wish mine had gundam seed vol1 +box since today at bb anime half off and no tax!!!!....
mine has ungody amount of new eva, and ghost in shell stand alone. which aren't bad at all.

i like wolfrain but the box is bleh.... although i love the soundtrack pack in. yoko has out done herself with wolf rain soundtrack and gits tv soundtrack. i love the op of gist .

sfv series is.. medciore at best, sfa ova explains reason why ryu turns into evil ryu. and designs akuma be size of the hulk. no word on what 2d ova about only manga doing it so god knows when that see day of light. but if your die hard sf fan pick it up.

I just started reading Mega Man NT Warrior vol. 1. I haven't seen too many eps of the anime so this should shed some light on the story for me.

Can't wait to get Dragon Ball manga vol 16, which concludes the regular DB series. I never saw all of Goku & Piccolo's fight in the anime so I'm itching to see just how things pan out.

DBZ Movie 9 comes out Aug 17 and I can't wait! We finally get to see Gohan be the hero again.

I've been lagging on anime. I still have to finish watching RG Utena, Xtv, Kurogane Communications, SDF Macross. I still need to finish buying the rest of Captain Harlock (Herlock) OVA, Kino's Journey, Azumanga Daioh, Texhnolyze, Maison Ikkoku. Well the last three aren't finished being distrubited(sp) are they, but any ways you know what I mean.

Off topic does anyone use Azureus?

which ones?

The only SF anime really worth watching is the movie.

the 2V series is trash, and Alpha is only good for the animation. The story is ass.

I've finally watched Tsukihime (thx for the heads up Tempest) and I gotta say I loved it. Alot of questions were brought up through out the episodes but were easily picked up and answered later on, leaving me at ease. I wouldn't say there was any "intense" action scenes but then again that wasn't really necessary for this anime. At first I was skeptical about there being romance but they pulled off the human (or part human) love relationship with a vampire nicely. And of course i'm a pretty big sucker for an anime if it has a romance or drama element:p Watching it made me wanna by the game!

I only wished they made some more episodes dedicated in explaining some of the characters history. I just read the storyline about the game its very good.

From my experience, the mangas tend to go farther than the animes in terms of plot and stuff. My question is, "Does the manga for Video Girl Ai go farther than the anime series?" "Cuz you know, the ending just plain flat out sucked.

How good is Gravion? From what I read it seems like your stereotypical giant robot/bunch of girls/one or two guys anime.

After I was heavily traumatized by watching Great Dangaioh I'm afraid of spending my money on Gravion. I love old school giant robot series, but the storyline about a dozen of girls+one guy defending the earth from unknown aliens and having stupid jokes along the way is getting old.

I guess I will stick with the classics if I want to see some giant robot action such as: Voltes V, Dancougar, Tetsujin 28 and Voltron.

Currently I'm watching:

S-cry-ed
Gungrave
Last Exile
Captain Herlock
Slam Dunk
YYH

The new DVD "In the Blood" is just a few days away and the second box set for the Dark Tournament is around oct. The fight between Majin Yusuke and Sensui is going to be gold. :D

Good news for escaflowner fans it seems they are going to release the whole series+movie for only 99.99/79.99. After I lost my chance of buying the LE box set I will be able to complete my collection.

Nothing new on the manga world besides the fact that a new volume of BotI is comming soon along with Vagabond vol 14. I'm still waiting for the new series by Hiroshi Takahashi "Worst", I don't know what is taking DMP so long.

The VGA manga goes waay beyond the 6 volume OVA series. The whole series is 15 volumes long (if you count VGL vol 14 &15) and is one of the most beautiful romance manga I ever seen.

I never watched the OVA but as far as I know it only covers the first 3 volumes of the manga. Read the manga and you won't be disappointed (especially with the ending).

If anyone is looking for good series to watch I recommend:

Rahxephon(one of the best shows I haver seen. Ayato is the most strongest willed character I have seen in a while.)

Gundam Seed(At first I thought it was going to be a crappy show, but after watching a couple of eps I now think it is a solid show.)

Genesis Climber Mosepada(classic series that was ahead of its time. Also one of the shows that was used to make Robotech.)

Southern Cross(another classic.)

Giant Robo(finally getting released on DVD. Hoping it sells well because it is my favorite anime. Has excellent action scenes, deep plot, and Giant Robo.)
Street Fighter 2 V(cheesy show, but if you are street fighter fan you should see it once.)

volume 11(ch 90-98) of ichigo 100% just came out its on ch 120 in shonen jump, you can get up to vol 9 ch 95 off of yanime.com or their irc channel also watch for the jump festa anime ova comming soon(sorta)

here's what major stuff happens that i can say im still missing vol 10 and some stuff in between vol 11 and where it is in shonen jump,

1 main new girl character/love interest and like 2 other minor characters

some growing things between nishino and manaka but they seem to stop around the beginning of vol 12 cause she doesn't show up much later on

satsuki moves on manaka some more but kinda starts to dissapear

aya and manaka start to seem like they might get together more due to amachi has apparently accepted defeat(or something like that) but now the new girl/contender/rival or wutever appears and yea pretty much the same stuff with more random ecchi scenes
