Hey guys.
Some very nice colors I've seen in here since revisiting this thread.
Was there any good color codes for Spider-man posted? I think I remember someone posting up a black-symbiote Spider-man and ice-blue Spidey, but I don't remember what page it was on or if there was any code posted along with it.

Very early in my editing, I stayed away from the expected colors. "Shadow" anything, Gold WM, etc.. It's alright, but it ain't gonna turn heads. Big3D has some nice ones I've seen, as does Snakeshot. But, how many of us are thinking outside the box? Not just with the colors, but the shading and themes?
Having an overall theme to your Mix will give it cohesion and give the viewing audience an idea of what you are trying to show them. They will know what to look for.

yeah i think outside the box too but MikeZ wanted a shadow lady colors Team Z, and it got me thinking of how the rest of the cast looks like that, My sent looks the best like that

I've been playing on SBIII#1 for the past month, and #2 for the past 2-3 wks, and [other than my perfectionism kicking in and noticing little mistakes] they''re "perfect" (as in, no glitchy-ness and the like).
Also, I've already sent fugee both of'em, in addition to the EVO2008 mix (which, after actually going back to when workin' on "fugee request," noticed some glaring mistakes that I'm surprised I made).
- Geronimo
EDIT: I forgot...I should say they're almost "perfect." That's because I was too lazy to go in and edit Spiral's power-ups.

I also have a mix for aspiring editors. It's what I call ColorTech, where all 15 boxes are a different color. Similar to what was done with Cable's Scimitar on one of the first pages of this thread. I did that with everyone's extras.
When you play it, it shows what colors coincide with what box. Very useful, IMO.

On mine I did that too, I changes cables scimitar, eye flash, gunshot, etc, all of magneto's, iron man's, captain commando's captain corridor, it looks awesome:tup: but a lot of patience because there is soo much to change.

I'll rephrase...
Please be careful that your crazy awesome psychedelic mix doesn't fuck over actual tournament gameplay just so you can prove how awesome you are at color editing. And you are, this is great stuff, no doubt, but your artistic skills shouldn't trump gameplay.
If you actually look at Oh So Boring regular Marvel, you'll notice a lot of attention was given to the actual color scheme as far as a lack of sudden startling eye-jarring contrasts, not too much character flicker (the flashings/glintings of Silver Samurai and powered-up Juggernaut and Spiral are all pretty muted), and other elements that make for a muted but effective color palette.

All I have to say to all aspiring editors is to have at least a backup OG Mix in case there are issues with your color edits come game time...ppl don't want crazy shit like black Cap corridors plaguing the screens and such!!

Yeah, I got what you're saying and I agree. I try to keep the move edits as "normal"/low key/basic as possible.
However...now that you mention it, I kinda went a little overboard when doing Juggarnaut's power-up. Looks real good, but yeah, anyone who doesn't know about it (which would be everyone 'cept me) will be hella confused by it.

I'm going to revert Silver Samurai's black shurikens (good idea in theory, too hard to see on the Factory stage) and then will send my colors to Toodles for whatever potential Color Edits Compilation might be made.
(More random editing thoughts:
* Play on the Factory and Ice stages so you can see if you're too black or too white.
* Don't fuck with Sentinel's flight flames. And don't make his regular (non-flight) jets blue because you'll screw up Sent users
)

The way I see it, there are plenty of Mixes out there that follow this idea. Not to say my mix has crazy colors, neon and such(It doesn't). It has basic colors that do not, imo, distract from the gameplay. I have never been distracted by the color edits I have seen unless the colors are just horrible. As far as a Black Corridor, I believe I have one in there with a grey trim. I don't see how basic colors distract from the gameplay. I have yet to see any person lose because of the colors of extras in a mix.
Preppy
07-28-2008, 05:50 PM
On the other hand I've been to lots of places around the country playing lots of strange mixes and HAVE seen people lose before of the colors of extras in the mix. Clearly Storm or Cyclops flashing colors is stupid, but doing things like having blue Sent jets be the normal color has cost people games because they couldn't tell if they were flying or not. And I've certainly been hit because I'm visually stunned by some fluorescently awesome Captain Commando corridor that breaks my concentration and then I have to look back to figure out where the hell my opponent is. Marvel's a game of milliseconds, so people needing to figure out what the fuck just happened on screen ever gets people killed.
The Commando corridor in particular is massively distracting during regular gameplay. But maybe I just notice these things since I've worked in computer design on stuff like contrast issues and how they affect people's interaction with software.
Anyways, your point was "how does it" - I think the blue regular jets for Sent is a pretty clear example of how it can.
I'm not attempting to bash anyone, just pleading for an extra dash of reason just in case somebody fucked up and might be able to catch it if they think about it now.

i'd say if you're going to change them.. change them a color that is obviously different than jumping or dashing jets. completely different, ya know. i'm pretty sure my mix was pretty fucked up bc i change a lot of extras when it came to that extent.

THIS! The colors were chosen for a reason. making entire teams matchup is bad because it's hard to tell which sprites are which. In addition, all black MSS is bullshit.

has anyone looked into custom levels?
say you knew what program the marvel developers used to make the stages. Then you open up stage 1 in the program and get the screen length dimensions and wrote them down.
Could you then use the proper dimensions, make a brand new stage then save it in the exact same file type as the original stages so that marvel would accept it?

I don't think it would be that hard to redo the voices. That shouldn't be too complicated. Usually, the voices are triggered by individual sound files and replacing those should be just as simple as replacing the music if they're the same format.
But i'm really intrested about the levels. If anyone has any kind of tips on how to work that, I'd appreciate it.
also, mvc2 with OG music is only like 256mb's or so. Its not that big. What I was thinking is that the rest of the space, 400mb's, can be used to select music and select colors.
Have some sort of menu to select versions of entire colors. Like group 1 containing all 56 characters of different colors. Then group 2, same thing but different colors. After the colors has been selected, it would be dope to select the music. Not individual tracks but rather the entire music of 1 copy. Say you could choose from hip hop\ dnb\ rock\ techno\ and each genre would have all the sound files needed for the type of genre.
The way tdc v2 is setup, I can see something like this working but you would need someone to program a menu select to allow for this to work. Its kinda retarded that I have to switch disc's out when I want different colors or different music. Especially when there's 400mbs+ of extra space thats just being dummied up.

You have to have SOMETHING that will allow you to executable the game program. At the time, the browsers were the only thing that could do it, but you can also use another program called DreamOn that allows for putting multiple games on a single disc much the same way.
If you have TDC Final v2, you can just rip the browser files right off the CD (don't try to copy the whole CD to your drive, just the files in the root directory and any browser related directories) and use those. Sorry, I dont have any links to download XDP or any of the other browsers at the moment.
Having multiple choice for soundtracks is no different that having multiple games. The only difference is we can squeeze more on a disc using the linking stuff I mentioned in the long Cygwin post.
hey zach, according to this having multiple tracks isn't a problem. Sounds pretty simple but what about multiple colors, like ground 1, group 2, 3, 4 and so forth?
sure thing john. It can't be that hard but 3d stuff isn't my forte`. In fact I know jack shit about it but thats why its called reading right? What i'm hoping for is that I can find the program to view the stages the DL-ed some 3d renedered stuff and do a copy and paste job if something to that extent is possible.
one last thing, can anyone tell me which files are the stages themselves?

Just a few random, mostly brown fingered numbers:
MvC2 base is like 150 megs.
Each characters .DAT is like 1 meg I think. I know most people don't have colors edited for the entire 52 character roster, so if we assume a healthy 20 characters per edit collection, that's 20 megs per person.
Which means a 700 meg disc will hold edit collections for ((700-150)/20)=27.5 people's edit collections.
If we assume 50 megs of music data, thats ((700-15)/(20+50))=8 full reedits and music collections, plus the unaltered original.
But if you guys want it by Evo, gotta fricken get on it. Maybe Preppy could be talked into a drop spot for people to drop off their edits?
Preppy

OK, I'm officially collecting edits now from people.
You can either PM me a URL to your edits, send them via AIM (or MSN), or PM me and we'll work something out (~my~ solution will involve SFTP via FileZilla only, so know that up front - easiest way is maybe just sending them to my zachd at hotmail dotty com email account).

Putting it all packaged together is pretty easy. The 'hard' part, or at least the time consuming part, is the menus. I'll probably put the edits together using submitter's avatar(s). If avatar images would be included with the batches of files, that'd make things a ton easier. If Wednesday is the cutoff, I can easily have it ready for Evo on Friday, it's just a question if there will be enough time for copies to be burned. If you think there will be, Wednesday is fine by me.
Bare files please. No .ISO or .CDI, just the .BIN stuff, both color edited character files and music files, already properly named ready to build. If its not edited, don't include it; if you didn't change the music for one particular stage, fine, but don't include the unedited original music in your files.
Your avatar will go with it on the disc, so be sure to test your shit out.
EDIT: If you want to have a splash screen showing off some of the color edits (like Showing the black and white MSP team that is selected with the Assist A button, and other color coordinated teams), make a single .JPG, 567x340 in size (and not one pixel more). I'll throw a 'back' and 'click to play' on top of it, and that'll be the last screen before it runs.
I'm thinking it'll boot up to a screen with a collection of avatars and a 'Original Version' picture, people click on the Avatar for the mix they want, they see that splash screen I described, and click again to start the game.
I know a VMU save should be on it as well. Anything else? Gameshark, Super Turbo, what? What else is being played on DC this year?

BTW for anyone having issues with the whole audio conversion thing I recommend GoldWave. Easy to use and works in batches so you don't have to convert files one by one. It also let's you add extra instructions to the process so you can for example convert to wav and bring up volume 150% all in one shot.

I'm super late to the party here, and I just can't get the burning part right. I followed the pdf instructions, and the cdi image loads perfectly in nullDC, playable and smooth. Burning with DJ with the instructions from the pdf, I get the DC logo, then the DC home screen. Click on 'Play' and it repeats. I've double checked the pdf for possible missed steps and couldn't find any. The fact that it loads in nullDC just fine makes me think I'm missing something in DJ, but I've double checked the pdf instructions and everything's set the way it says. Can anyone point me to the place I messed up?

Edit the original pallette. When you go to close the Palmod, it will ask you if you want to save the changes. Say yes and when you open it back up, the changes will still be there. I have a bunch of mixes (I'm actually sending Preppy 4...), and I'd like to have them all on 1 disc.I've put up a number of posts on how to do it, but it ain't easy for most, and I always use linux to do it. Mr. Q has done it with Cygwin before, but it's a VERY command line heavy process. Looks up the older posts, but unless you're really comfy with command line and linux commands, it may not be for you.

What the hell? Are you serious Fonz...I wanted to see your new work
Well...all is not entirely lost...if I can find someone with a working PC and the programs necessary I can replicate the entire new mix within a day (thanks to photographic memory and notes). So yeah, making a new mix from scratch isn't an issue with me...
...I'd explain exactly what's going down in life...but this is not the place to discuss that...so I'll let you know what happens as events unfold...

If possible, exactly right. That will cut down on work for me and diskpace for Preppy.
If you dont know which one's you've edited, and Preppy's ok with teh disk space, send all of the character .BINs and I'll toss the ones that haven't been edited.
 Done, and done.

My "packaging list" is at home right now (I'm still at work), but right now the list is:
* the geronimo collection (evo2008, season's beating I and II, and fugee request mixes)
* jonnyquest mix (probably no music)
* my michael jackson mix
I have not been able to get in touch with Doc yet.
merdoc may have one, but I haven't gotten it/a URL yet.
Eidrian doesn't have a "complete"/useful mix in his words.
I have the old Big3D v2 mix, but I haven't sync'ed up with him on that yet to figure out if he wants that part of this.
All my notes on this subject are at home right now, but that's the quick synopsis so far. I am probably forgetting a lot, though.

Frankly, it'd be harder than rebuilding the collection from scratch because you'd have to figure out what is linked where, delete the copies, link them to an original, figure out what to put into the first session so the LBA is EXACTLY 45000, and someone manage to do all of that without adding more than 100K of data else you'll go over the size of the CD.
If I were you, I'd forget entirely about changing the music, find the original palette hex codes for the edits you've made, and hexedit the .CDI file to change the original palette hex codes to your edited ones. That'd be LOADS easier than trying to rebuild it.

my (early) color edits, feel free to critique. I tried for a brunette Morri and a black Spiral, interesting, but bc of the palette setup, a little bit of stray mismatched pixels.
Still curious how to work with transparent effects if anybody wants to shed some light.
Edit: Also, I might have stumbled across a ghetto way to have some extra palettes per character-- could you not replace the data for a character you never, ever use with a duplicate set of one you do?? Seems like a better way is in the works, but w/e, food for thought

Great question. My quality control has been down getting ready for the wedding. Woot bachelor party.
Mine we use regularly. The last fix to mine was Rogue's dash shadows.
I walked through the JQ edits. I fixed Cyke's super and Rogue's dash shadows before uploading. His Megaman edits are bad but probably livable. (Editing Megaman is a PITA.)
I have not walked through the Geronimo mixes yet. I generally trust him.
DVDrummer has buggy Gief SPD colors and probably other bugs with the "advanced characters".
Pablo I generally trust.
I don't know about the Big3d v2 changes.
In each case the maker can probably speak to those best.
I'm probably OK at quality control. Should I fix up broken characters or simply remove them from the packs until such theoretical time as they get fixed up?

==How To Verify Your Mix Through PalMod==
(This is easiest to do by keeping two palmods open - one viewing the original 'LP' color and one viewing the extras. Note that I pretend like you only edited LP. It's easy to extend this location to LK and so on.)
ryu: you're done
zangief: verify Extras 17/18/19 (FAB effects) compared to LP
mech-zangief: verify extras 29/2a/2b (FAB effects) compared to Extra 11
guile: you're done
morrigan: verify 3a/3b, 4d/4e, 50/51/52/53 vs LP
anakaris: verify 04 LP versus LP
strider: you're done unless you did a colored sword, in which case check 01 LP
cyclops: verify 01 LP kick effect vs colors. verify his intro 29/2a/2b/2c/2d/2e/2f, 50, 5a versus LP
wolverine: done
psylocke: done
iceman: good luck.
rogue: verify 04 LP (dash shadows) versus LP. also check 1d winpose
captain america: done
spiderman: check 09/0a/0b/0c/0d/0e/0f/10 intro
hulk: done
venom: done
doom: verify 09/0a/0b/0c intro
tron: done. but editing 14 looks bad
jill: done
hayato: done
ruby: done
sonson: update the cane (04/05) if you update her cane. update 0f/17/1d/1e Monkey King effects as desired
amingo: may want to update for his baby cactuses/super to match
marrow: done
cable: done
abyss: zzz
chun-li: done
megaman: good luck. check his supers, rush, beat, after he gets hit once, his charge, and pre and post hypermegaman. again, good luck.
roll: see megaman.
akuma: done
bbhood: check Cruel Hunting super
felicia: done
charlie: done
sakura: match Extra 11 loosely with LP. update evil sakura 1d as desired.
dan: done
cammy: match 03 LP winpose. fix the counterflash Extra 09-11
dhalsim: fix his teleport frames Extras 09-0d
mbison: fix the psycho crusher Extras 09-0a.
ken; done
gambit: fix his winpose Extras 09-0d
juggernaut: fix his headcrush 09-0a and powerup extras 0b-12
storm: fix her lightning 19-1b and FP effects 13.
sabretooth: done
magneto: done
shuma: good luck.
war machine: done
silver samurai: update 09-0f normal walking shine.
omega red: fix his intro 09-0c.
spiral: good luck.
colossus: fix his normal shine 0f-17, super armor 09-0e, power dive 18-21, and super armor 22-28.
iron man: done
sentinel: fix the drones 01 LP. do NOT change his normal flames to blue nor his "flight" flames to anything BUT blue.
blackheart: done
thanos: done
jin: update his Desperation power-up 2d-32. update his explosion 51. update his taunt 63-68.
captain commando: update intro 0e and taunt 0f as needed.
bonerine: done
kobun: update kobun assist 06 LP and King Kobun 09-0d as needed.
This isn't definitive. But it does provide you some guidelines on stuff to be checking previous to 'finalizing' your mix, since people often screw up Storm's FP, Cyclop's HK, or Rogue's dash shadows, for example.

With Spiral, I check the Power, Speed and Lvl 3 Palettes. There is a lot of variety to can use with this. With the activation of the Level 3, I edit the character on whoever she changes to, then copy and paste to the proper palette.
I actually went in-depth on other palettes
Sabertooth (02 LP = Birdie palette)
15 box break down
Boxes 2-5 = middle of Birdie's armor (set same as skin color to have a Morrigan style outfit)
Boxes 6-9 = Birdie's skin color
Boxes 10-11 = Birdie's hair color
Boxes 12-15 = Birdie's pants
I will post up any other notes I had. Hope this helps anyone who wants it.

That is a plethora (don't get to use that word much) of quality mixes. All of these will be featured in some capacity at Evo? One separate TV's or rotated?

All my colors look clean (or, at least to me). And every character is done "properly" as in, all "required" extras are done per character...w/ the possible exception of characters that flash colors for moves (e.g. Cammy/Jill counters, Spiral's power-ups, etc.; I got lazy and didn't really feel like doing'em :razz: ).
The only gripes people may/probably will have are...
1.) All of those mixes have moves edited to match the costume....which leads to #2...
2.) ...the whole blue Sentinel jump flames thing. IIRC, there is at least 1 Sentinel color, per mix, where someone could/possibly will mistake the normal flames for flying ones. I believe they are Evolution 2008's HK, SBIII #1 LP, SBIII #2 HP, and fugee-request's LK.
To tell you the truth, the matching jumping/flying flames thing never bothered me, my brother, or any of the other locals...so I kept'em in.
3.) All of the mixes have characters w/ "overlapping" colors, meaning that they have a lot of the same color schemes. This is because, personally, I like my teams to match. For example, to get Orange/Black in SBIII #1, use HK for Magneto, A2 for Sentinel, HP for Iron Man, LP for Cable, etc.
In Evolution 2k8 and fugee-request, the idea is taken a another step further and mapped to the buttons. In the EVO2k8 mix, LP is black, HP is white, and A1 is gold for all [edited] characters; while in the fugee-request mix, all 6 buttons correspond to a certain color scheme (e.g. LP = black/grey, LK = purple/baby blue, HP = yellow/blue, etc).
4.) The EVO2k8 mix was done awhile ago (back in Nov.-Dec.), and after recently looking back on some of'em, I spotted some mistakes. I fixed some of'em, but there are bound to be more.
Those are the only things I can think of right now...if there's anything else that comes to mind, I'll try to post'em up.
Hope that helps.

Geronimo, I made a mix with that same colors scheme in mind.
LP - Platinum/Blue
LK - Green/Yellow
HP - Black/Gold
HK - Blood Red/Grey
A1 - Red/Burgundy
A2 - Brown/Purple (Peanut Butter jelly time!)
I would love for you to critique it. I can get it to you however you see fit. Extras are done, also. They follow the theme. I broke it down to weapon color (Guns, Gambit's staff, etc..)
LP- Black
LK - Gunmetal
HP - White
HK - Gold
A1 - Light Blue
A2 - Red
Lastly, the Special effects follow a color scheme (Tried to cover everything as best I could)
I had the effects set at 8 boxes, flowing from one color to the next
LP - Brown/gold
LK - Gold/Burgundy
HP - Red/Orange
HK - Blue/Purple
A1 - Black/Dark Grey
A2 - Yellow/Platinum
To see it in action:
www.youtube.com/lordhollow Any Recent vids in Hollow's Den were played on the matching mix and most of my T9 matches were done on my DC vs Marvel vs Capcom Mix.

The color scheme of the fugee-request mix was...well, jus' that, fugee's request [for the most part].
LP = "Gunmetal" - Grey/Black
LK = "Apocalypse" - Purple/Baby Blue
HP = "Michigan" - Blue/Yellow
HK = "Pothead" - Green/Brown
A1 = "Phoenix Suns" - Orange/Purple
A2 = "Devastator" Purple/Green
fugee requested all of those, w/ the exception of Purple/Baby Blue.
That color schemes you came up w/ are actually really similar to a new mix I've been thinking about (actually matching 3 of the ones I came up w/ exactly; even though I am reusing a couple from past mixes).
Anyways, I'll check out some of those vids and let you know what I think.
However, I'm not gonna lie; if they're anything like that "Darkseid" Thanos you showed me, or that mix in the FR vids...I'll let you know right now. IMO, they look a little dark.

Thanks guys. There was some tweaking that needed to be done. The Season's Beatings soundtracks were removed; there was only a couple of song difference between each of them and fugee's mix, so they were removed and fugee's left in. I was still damn cramped for space, so all of the Open, Menu, Abyss Stages were removed and used the original versions. I may have done the same with training mode songs as well, I dont remember. All of the playable versus stages were left intact. I didn't get time to setup the new soundtracks to work with ST, so ST is only playable with original soundtrack, but all of the marvel edits are available with ST soundtracks. It was a rush job, but I hope its enjoyable.

I just tried using the muitple LBA copying program I linked to: I can't get it to work at all. Sorry. That leave us with either using Linux, or Cygwin.
So here's some steps on how to do it with Cygwin. The idea is the same as in linux, but I'll try to lessen the amound of command line stuff. First, a script to do the hard work for you:
<-------------Cut Here---------------->
#!/bin/bash
find . | xargs md5sum > md5sumslist
cat md5sumslist | cut -f1 -d' ' | sort | uniq -d > dupemd5sums
for BLAH in `cat dupemd5sums`
do
grep $BLAH md5sumslist | cut -d'*' -f2 > dupefiles
export ORIGINAL=`head -n1 dupefiles`
grep -v $ORIGINAL dupefiles > extrafiles
for BLECH in `cat extrafiles`
do
rm $BLECH
ln $ORIGINAL $BLECH
done
rm dupefiles
rm extrafiles
done
<-----------------Cut Here----------->
The setup instructions:
1. Install Cygwin if you haven't already. www.cygwin.com
2. Save that as 'dupelink.sh' in your cygwin directory (like C:\cygwin\dupelink.sh)
3. make the script executable- open up a cygwin window, and type 'chmod +x /dupelink.sh'
4. make sure you have the tools youll need. At the cygwin window, type 'ln' and hit enter to see if it gives you a 'command not found' error. Same thing with 'md5sum' 'cdrecord' and 'mkisofs'. If any give the commnd not foud error, you need to install it by running through the cygwin installer again and finding the package you need. If you have mkisofs and/or cdrecord not installed, but somewhere else on your system, you should be able to copy them into c:\cygwin\bin\ and use them fine.
To make the disk
This part can be done entirely in windows. Just pick directory to work in and copy everything you want in there. To keep things easy, use c:\data\. If you're wanting 3 different copies of MvC2, each with different music, go ahead and make 3 subdirectories, copy all of your original MvC2 files into each subdirectory, then replace the ADXs in each one. Yes, that will take up a lot of space on your hard drive, but not for long. Go ahead and work as if your CD-R could hold gigs and gigs. Setup your browser for a boot menu as normal. BINHACK all the executables. Once its all setup to work properly, but is just way too big for a cd-r, then you're ready to build the disk in cygwin.
1. Open a cygwin window
2. 'cd c:' #to change directory to the c: drive
3. 'cd data' #to change directory to the data directory
4. '/dupelink.sh' # to run the script. This might take a little bit depending on how large your directory it
5. 'rm md5sumslist dupemd5sums dupefiles extrafiles' #get rid of the files used by dupelink.sh
6. 'cd c:' # leave the data directory
7. 'mkisofs -V GoldenStillAintPaidShit -C x,y -o data.iso -cache-inodes data' #replace x and y with the proper values
Burn your first session, IPINS the data.iso, and burn the data.iso.
If you want to change this to work on linux, you'll want to change the parameters to the two 'cut' commands in the scripts; different diff's show their output different ways.
not really understanding the stuff in bold.
Anyone care to explain?
Also, when I get this figured out I'll try to set up some sort of template for everyone else. From those directions it doesn't seem that bad.

Burn your first session
For most people using the Echelon method, the first session is burning the audio.raw file. (I use the 45000 LBA technique on my discs; from my experience, they boot more reliably. Instead of having the first session be an audio track, I make it a data track, containing files like normal. The bitch of it is that you want the make the first session .iso file EXACTLY the right size needed so that after you burn it, the 'cdrecord -msinfo' commandtells you exactly '0,45000'. Since having a multisession disc added 11402 sectors of data, that means your first .iso should be (45000-11402)=33,598 sectors in size, which is (33,598*2048)=68,808,704 bytes in size. You can be under, and then pad out the file so it becomes exactly that size, or you can mix and match files until you get the magic number. Make sure to use the '-M first.iso' switch when making the second .iso so it knows to include the files on the first iso.)
IPINS the data.iso,
The second session is the big iso file, usually called data.iso. An IP.BIN, a 32k file you'll find on any DC disc, needs to be 'inserted' into the .ISO, usually using a program from the Echelon pack called IPINS.EXE
and burn the data.iso.
I assume you're clear on this one. :)

potter vs toan MM is a pretty good example. lots of oversaturated outfits with ridiculous colors. why in the world would you make a bright green storm with a bright purple face? just a lot of colors that are offensive to the eyes.
a lot of people also don't choose different enough colors when working with shadows, so you end up with 'blocky' colors if that makes any sense. example:
http://i38.tinypic.com/16laej5.jpg
^ there isnt enough contrast in the grays so in-game it ends up almost looking like one solid color
and i havent gone through the entire thread, but i know there was talk about how special moves shouldn't be altered because they might be hard to see, and there was definitely some of that at evo.
"just because you can doesn't mean you should"
although there was one really good mix that i saw. there was a cable with light orange grenades/viper beams and it looked really good from what i remember. i wouldn't mind seeing the rest of those edits, but i dont know who the game belonged to.
