I already made a custom Mark of the Wolves for PS2 and it works perfectly?
Good for you, here's your cookie of uncertainty.
I have the same problem with 1st_read.bin. I already tried with 3 different 1st_read.bin from 3 copies, but it's always the same shit. Then you're missing a step in the instructions. This isn't some elaborate hoax; this shit works. If its not working for you, you're doing something wrong. Walk through it, taking a ton of screenshots or recording the screen with Camtasia, then we'd have a chance of telling you what you did wrong. If the only information you can give is 'it don't work', then the only help we can provide is 'you're doing it wrong'.
Is it possible to change the voice of the announcer? I want to change that 'this is gonna be a match to remember' to something funny
A number of the .ADX files include that annoying announcer, including 4 out of the 5 win quote screens, the 'here comes a new challenger, you must crush them', and the opening attact screen. Those you can replace, sure. There are a bunch of others that are not ADX's that we cant remove or replace, such as 'Capcom' at the beginning of the attract screen, the quotes during the match ('thats what we call big damage', 'calm before the storm', blah blah), the 'this is what the world has been waiting for' intro, and the 'this is gonna be a match to remember...Fight' intros.

ok... here's an interesting one for y'all...
I'd like to, after having printed up a VERY nice-looking 3rd Strike label using the CPSIII art, break up my Double Impact into separate games (yep, New Generation and 2nd Impact as two discs), obviously so I can replicate the arcade CD art on them (these are printable CDs).
Has anyone had any luck doing this yet?
If comeone can extract the textures for the images used in-game for those CDs, that'd be even better, as that can be worked with (the source for the CD label scan for 2I has some... issues).

Splitting up SF3:NG and SF3:Di should be very doable. They are separate games on the disk, selected by a boot menu in the root of the disc. Take a peek at the disk contents, and the two folders they are in should be obvious. Take out each folder, and self boot it with the folder's contents in the root of the disc.

i have a question real quick, when i make a large dummy file for a custom marvel, create the disk image, burn it blah blah and pop it in my dc, my dc can only read it like once every 10 times and if i make another custom marvel with a small dummy file of like only 1mb and i when pop that in my dc, it can read it normally without any problems. Can someone tell me why it does that?

I cant say exactly why this is happening, but if I were you, I would do the process from scratch. Deleting all your data from the data folder, and the adx folder, then re-extracting the original game files back to your data folder. Also make sure to inspect your data folder so there aren't two dummy files. Also make sure you name your dummy file "0dummy", as this will force the dummy file to be burned first, and push all the data outwards. Also make sure to burn at 4x or slower, just to be safe. If you still encounter the same problems, post up here again with every step you take in the process of making your custom MVC2.

I'm... not sure what happened, but this... didn't work well. Failed to find ip.bin on either game.
Here's what I did...
I copied the contents of the specific game folder to the root, and deleted 1st_read.bin. This was the only change made to the disc layout. I then binhacked ip.bin to point at the (unchanged) name of the executable (also hacked the game executable to boot).
But, I can try again, I suppose...
Edit: the new one... ALMOST works. It loaded up the VMU screen instantly, and goes into demo mode alright, but when I try to press start, it just boots me back to the DC's main menu.
Any ideas?

Since Mixah brought it up. . . I would kill for the soundtrack that Smoothviper seems to always use. Heres a link to the a video with the track:

Why'd you deleted the 1st_read.bin? I guess more specifically, which 1st_read.bin did you delete?
copy the SFNG folder somewhere you're hard drive. Remove the disc from your drive, because you wont need anything except what's in the SFNG folder you just copied.
Youll see a file called SF3_1ST.BIN. That's your 1st_read.bin file. Don't rename it, just see that its there.
Grab an IP.BIN from just about anywhere. Grab one of the ones off of one of my collections, or the one in the combomasher collection of stuff. Copy it to your SFNG directory.
Burn your audio.raw file, and run cdrecord -msinfo to get the LBA number. If you've done this a few times, Im sure you've got the hang of it.
Go to a DOS prompt, goto your SFNG directory, run BINHACK.EXE. For the binary file, enter SF3_1ST.BIN. For the ip.bin, enter IP.BIN. For the msinfo number, input what you got from cdrecord -msinfo.
Move the IP.BIN out of the SFNG directory. You dont want it there.
Use mkisofs to make an iso out of the SFNG directory, just like the echelon tutorial says to. Make sure to use the msinfo numbers.
Use IPINS to insert the IP.BIN into the ISO you just made
Burn the ISO to the cdr you burned the audio.raw on.
For 2nd Impact, everythings the same, but the folder name is SFNG2, and the binary 1st_read.bin is SF3_2ND.BIN.

OK SOOOO
I finally made one that worked! Echelon method baby....I don't know why I didn't try it before....is so much easier IMO...instead of bothering with all those extra programs where my CDdrive is incompatible.
I was almost worried because it took a LONG time to load...I'll have to figure out how to stop that....and OPEN didn't work...and I need to make the songs better sounding...ugh so much, but at least it runs!

Then can you at least settle my curiousity and tell me the files that DID actually have the palette data?
SuupaBuu
08-17-2007, 01:43 PM
??
DAT files.
I took a look in the S files and they were wayyy too complex to be palettes. Capcom makes things compact; especially MVC2.
Finding the data in the DAT was very simple. Look at the top of the file in a hex editor. Go to 0x08. There's the pointer (32 bit unsigned int) to the location in the file to the start of the palettes.

Great find, I feel like a chump for not comparing the .DAT's to check to see if they had headers in the beginning.

Open up that character's DAT file in a hex editor. For example, to edit Cable (17), youd open up PL17_DAT.BIN.
Your hex editor should count ordinaly (starting at 0), and you're looking for byte 8, the 9th byte in the file, and looking for 4 bytes total. Bytes 8, 9, 10, and 11 in Cable's DAT file are 00 BA 0F 00. That number tells us where in the file the palette data is. But, its big-endian, so you need to reverse the byte order. That means 00 BA 0F 00 is actually 00 0F BA 00. Go to address 0xFBA00. There are probably zeros at that exact address, but you'll see sets of 30 bytes in a row, separated by 00 00. That's our palette data. The very first set is the one you get if you select the character with LP (X).
For cable, the first set is:
00 00 33 F3 22 F2 11 F1 00 F0 C9 FF 96 FD D0 FE A2 FE 73 FB 42 F7 EE FE BB FB 88 F8 55 F5 A1 F2 00 00
There are 30 bytes of data, which means there are 15 colors and 2 bytes of data per color. If you're not used to is, the format of the bits may seem weird. The format is called 4444 ARGB; there's 4 bits of Alpha data, four bits of Red, 4 of green, 4 of blue. The Alpha data means transparency; yes, you can be a dick and make invisible or mostly transparent sprites. Don't be a dick.
The bytes are swapped though, just like the address was. The actual format as you look at it is GBAR; thats why the first character of the second byte of each color is 'F'; it has no transparency. So the very first color is 33F3, which is 3 for green, 3 for blue, F for alpha, and 3 for red. Load up a screenshot of that character's costume and with something like the dropper tool in Photoshop, you should be able to identify what each color is for in short order. Tweak it how you want, save it, rebuild the disk, and test it out. Here are my notes for Cable and Magnus:
Magz
1 - outlining color, very tip of helmet. DARK/black
2- white highlights
3- very lightest costume color - rarely used
4- main costume color; light
5 - slightly darker costume color
6 - darker costume color
7 - flesh, lightest
8 - flesh lighter
9 - flesh darker
10 - flesh darkest
11 - main cloak color
12, 13, 14, 15- gloves/cod/boots, inside of cloak-- lightest to darkest
Cable
1 costume gradient lightest
2 costume gradient
3 costume gradient
4 costume gradient darkest
5 light flesh
6 dark flesh
7 -- boot/belts gradient, lightest
8 -- boot/belts gradient
9 -- boot/belts gradient
10 --- boot/belts gradient, darkest
11 --- hair/gun gradient lightest
12 ---- hair/gun gradient
13 ----hair/gun gradient
14 ---- hair/gun gradient darkest
15 - red X logo on belt and chest
(note: two of the boot/belt colors are also used on the face; you can't really tweak these without fucking the face up, which is why every damn Cable costume has yellowish boots. Feel free to try though.)

I'm still workin' on it and im almost done.. I havent even tested it out too much so I have to fix everything else I find. What kept me was that I had to add stuff to the program and fix a lot of mistakes I made ( I'm not too good at programming ) so just hang in there! I know I said a day or two but didn't expect all of this stuff to happen. Thanks for the support guys and I'll get back to you.

Hey Supabuu, I was thinking...
Since you already have (or can get pretty easily) the original pellettes, how about putting in a 'patch' feature? Just have the feature open up a big ass file, probably .cdi or .iso, the program searches for the 30 (if you include the 0x00's, like 32 or 33) bytes that match the original palette, and overwrite the 30 bytes with the new palette.
My thinking is that if you could locate the original 30 bytes, replace with the new 30 bytes, then people can patch their custom colors into a any custom .CDI or .ISO (including my compilations) without having to rebuild the entire disc. The only downside would be that they couldn't repatch an already patched specific palette on a specific character.

I was thinking about this.
On top of the main 6 palettes, some characters have loads of other palettes that might effect the look of the character. From the location on offset 0x08 to the location of offset 0x0a are all palettes. Iceman has probably 6 on his standing animation, colossus has a few extra, silver samurai storm and some others (0xF out storm's primary color and do a s.lp). On top of that, it might take probably a full minute for that process to complete (probably even longer on my programming capabilities).
I will take a look at the CDI and ISO file formats. If it's not too complex, it won't take long to add support for it into the program.
EDIT: Now finding the format is taking long lol.... if I can't find it ill add the feature stated above if you want.

Cool. I'm pretty sure that the data files are all contiguous without any metadata between blocks (boy thats a geeky sentence); you could probably get away with doing it blindly; just search for a match to the original string and replace.
I know there are other palettes involved (hey, we can finally make green Sentinal spit!), but are you even gonna bother with them or just stick to the main 6 costume palettes?

I think there is some data between the blocks. What image format is preferred for self boot? iso bin or cdi? I will try to do one and see what I can do with it.
I remember trying to open one of my cdi files and that didn't work too well. It went in some weird out of order sequence when I tried to add the offset from the start of the dat file (I did find the palette from searching it though).
All palettes are loaded when the character dat is loaded.

.CDI is the preferred for self boots, with the occasional .NRG and .MDF/.MDS (Alcohol 120%) showing up, but it's frowned upon. .BIN/.CUE and .ISO are for non-selfboots.
Damn, its definitely not contiguous in .CDI.

Using my own generated CDI, it always burns garbage CDs... I went through the steps 8 times and have 8 coasters. =\ I could sort this out on my own PC, but on my gf's laptop 1000miles from home I admit to being weak (I've got to be generating an invalid image somewhere along the way). Doom is one of those problem characters. Look down the extra's list and see if you see the primary color of the command you replaced. Replace it with the new color and it should fix it.

Once you start messing around with it, it's pretty easy to produce some decent (http://img175.imageshack.us/img175/7628/lt3fz8.jpg) new palettes.
The copy and paste function is a life saver, really great little program.
If anyone isn't writing a tutorial for this, I can make a quick, simple video or something (Maybe just text with pictures, etc.) tomorrow when I don't have company over, just to get things moving. (Just for the basics anyways, I don't know how to change Tron's outfit, or Sent's beam or anything like that yet.)
EDIT: I have a couple questions. I've figured out how to find the correct palette for, say, changing Guile's sonic boom. However, there are other palettes that I, for the life of me, can't find their purpose. (Specifically 03, 07, and 08; 02 is his Sonic Boom for his jab color.)

Tried it and works like a charm for DC! Seems really easy to work, but there're still some stuff that I can't do right.
When you change some pals for just choosing chars everything is ok, but take this example: Whenever I change one of Cyclops' pallete, his effects pallete are still the same he used to have before, like, changing his LP color to red and then throwing a HK twice, you still can see blue effects of his kicks there, Also when I perform Hypers. I can see further in his palletes that he has extra colors for that pal used for his LP color, but they look weird an stuff and I can't recognize for what are those :/
How can I be sure to get those effects right and also using the same colors I changed and plan to use?
Any ideas for PS2 MvC2 and this?

OK i had that problem too...
what you have to do is pretty much start with the default color and go through the palettes and find all the similar colors... like with cyclops it would be his LP color but have a slight red to it when he does his optic blast, and just mark all the palettes for the LP color, then add the same hue or whatever to the other palettes, but make sure to keep the change on those palettes the same, or it wont look right.
I am in the process of identifing the different palletes for the chars, like doom has 2 for 1 color, storm has like 9 for 1 color, and same for shuma. Silver Sam and Iceman, it seems a little too much work for those seeing as we cant see them. i will find out the exact palette names for each individual color... gonna take a little while but it will be worth it.
ill try and put out a video of my progress with the colors... and show my work on the more difficult color palettes (ie. storm, shuma, silver sam, iceman, colossus, zangief) This has been a huge project for the past 3 days
had a tournament at my friends house, showed off my progress and my friends were going crazy, said its like playing a new game. asked each and everyone there dream team colors and i made it for them on the spot, then made the image and showed it in game... still tweaking alot of chars palettes.
Thank you SuupaBuu!!!!!

ok all i have spend hour upon hour on this project and have some promising stuff...
megaman is undoubtedly the hardest/longest palette, 160 palettes all together thats about 25 palettes per color... it took me long enough for shuma, colossus, and storm,
shuma still has about 4 more palettes that i need to edit for when he does the chaos dimention, and storm has about 3 palettes when she does lightning storm, i beleive colossus is good, but i havent had the time to check all my palettes against the different effects, lightning, fire, etc...
well here is my progress so far
Current Album (http://s231.photobucket.com/albums/ee133/Biginitiald/)
i have a little bit more of a surprise to show you but not just yet, i still need about a day
something you will all enjoy, i know im gonna have my work cut out for me the next few weeks, with editing for my friends, and requests on here
yes ill will take requests but just know that chars with constant palette changing will require alot more time (Storm, colossus, cyclops, iceman, silver sam, megaman shuma, spiral, jin, and zangief)
im also working on a video that will display those chars in there constant palette changes and how it looks
once i have the fine tuning down i will post the specific palettes for each color, and what shades/effects/glows they are for

08-28-2007, 01:55 PM
ok i know there are quite a few people out there who are having a little trouble with editing
so i figured i would take a response i sent to someone and use it to help the rest of you
ok well it all depends on the char you are trying to edit
they have their basic standard colors, the (LP,LK,HP,HK,A1,A2) but then there are the extra frames each character has extra frames for being hit by certain things and also when they do certain moves. Which char are you trying to edit. like lets start with ryu, alot of colors are tied in with certain parts of the body, look at the default palette and identify the colors of the body. The 1st one is a blank color, it goes to nothing
The 2nd one is the belt and headband
3rd-8th are his skin/ hair
9th is his eye color
10th is the hair as well
11-15 are his Gi colors
16-17 are his gloves
now that you have identified his colors, now you can select those sets of colors to edit
start with 11-15, click and drag from 11 to 15 it should select those colors with a red box around them, you can go to hue and mess with the to change the color, but if its white or black no changes will be made, you have to select saturation, that affects how much color is changed, turn it all the way up to find the color you want then adjust it to your liking. once you find a color you like then you can either leave it like that or adjust it a little bit more, with the lightness. that will either add more white or more black into the colors, be careful cause too much will make the transition between colors not look natural. so once you play around with it a little bit you might find a color that you like, sometimes there is a stray color in there, it happens from time to time. just select that color and adjust the hue saturation and lightness to make it fit, if you still cant get it, try and copy the nearest color to it and adjust the lightness to show a "seemless" transition between colors. it will take some time and patience to get the color the way you want, but its worth it
Then you want to rebuild the image like if you were editing the music, and load it up in NullDC, if you need i can send you a link to the VMU with all the unlocked chars. test out your char, do all his moves, supers, taunts, and hit reactions. if he changes colors then there is another palette that you need to edit, just play around with it till you find it. Im trying to label the palette numbers according to thier color, looooooong process. But one thing i do is when they start changing colors i do the move that makes them change and try and Screenshot it or pause it on that frame, fraps works pretty good for the screenshooting. then have that open in the background and cycle through your chars palettes look for the matching colors. but be aware of its position, if you are editing LP make sure the palette is the first in the series... let me explain.
ok im editing the LP color of storm but she keeps changing between colors. so i go through the palettes and i see a pattern coinciding with the colors as such
LP=grey/silver
LK=pink/silver
HP=yellow/silver
so the palettes start looking like this
(-grey/silver, slightly darker grey/silver, dark grey/silver, pink, blue, orange, black, black
- pink/silver, slightly darker pink/silver, dark pink/silver, pink, blue, orange, black, black
- yellow/silver, slightly darker yellow/silver, dark yellow/silver, pink, blue, orange, black, black, etc..)
that might be the color changes during her lightning attack, so what ever color changes you made should be reciprocated here but in the pattern they have here
so like me i made a crimson/blood red storm, i would paste those colors, on the first grey/silver of the chain, then paste it on the slightly darker grey/silver but select the entire palette and use the lighten to darken my new color to match the original and do the same for the dark grey/silver. i know that might sound confusing but its the simplest way i can put it with out pictures.
im pretty spread out right now with this project, but i will have a decent tutorial written up in time... but the key word is time.
as well as videos, and if someone can try and put up a site for us so we can kind of compile all our knowledge/pictures/palettes into it. I will answer all your questions when i read them.
ok well thats all i can think of right now
Big3D
08-28-2007, 02:07 PM
it would be cool to change the stages.
yeah but the thing is the stages are 3d and it would require alot to just amke them 2d or even find what format the stages are in, they could just be like a 3d studio format, or maya, we cant really tell just yet. but it would be cool
but im afraid people will try and edit the effects of the moves and chars... no lag on certain moves making them easy infinites and all that
but it could make the capcom side a little more balanced, it could go either way

;4233819']I'm all for hacking to make it more balenced.
MvC2: Rainbow edition anyone :looney:
Imagine homing Hadoukens with 0 recovery frames v.s. Storm
the hadoukens maybe like 2 frames less, but zero recovery would make it possible to make a stream of Hadoukens... very cheap
look at akumas air hadou it has about 3-4 frames of lag after
imagine what it would be like if he had no lag... he wouldnt need that super hadou in the air, because he would be able to do it without expending a super
def cut the lag on ryus super hadou cause he is up there long enough for sentinel to WALK over there and launch
really just cut the lag on probably %60 of the capcom characters
cause thats what makes them low tier is there lag after everything
Ryu should have alot more priority
i mean the god of fighting games has been reduced to almost crap

well those are like when he gets hit by lightning fire and when he activates his specials... we are still finding out what exactally all those are
its a time consuming process, im thinking some of them are his tigers and hawks
but i will look into it and show ya what i come up with, just stick with the main edits unless you feel good enough to try and edit those... just remember they dont have the same palette effects as strider, so it could be on like 2 diff palettes
i have all day to mess with it and mess with it i shall
i will be off and on here while im checking stuff
so keep checking back throughout the day

I finally got a chance to play with the tool a bit on the plane ride back home. I would love to get the palettes for Mephisto (MvSF), black Spiderman, US Agent (MvSH), Hyper War Machine (both colors, MvC1), and Shadow Lady (MvC1). I'm going to go look at MvC1's gameplay images and my MvC1 disc layout itself when I get home. But that won't have Mephisto or USAgent. Did MvSF come out for Dreamcast? I sadly think it only came out for Saturn, but don't recall for sure. Regardless...
Anyways, the attachment here was what I tried on the plane. My favorites are white Dan, reverse black CapCom, and blacker Megaman. I really suck at this kind of thing, though, but it's just fun to play with. I definitely learned a lot through looking at how Suupabuu changed stuff - that's why I put those files on my site. It will probably take a while for me to really grok it. Right now I'm just trying to learn how to do this nearly as well as he's done.
I don't know how we can effectively send each other colors... ? Obviously we can send whole files to each other, but then to merge we'd need to individually copy color assignments between files. Hm.

but sadly megaman is the worst one to edit
trust me i tried, for now i put him on the side due to anyone actually wanting a custom color for him
Ill see what i can do about a better looking armor spiderman, us agent, mephesto, and hyper warmachine and such
if i can get a picture of them i can do it no problem, i just cant remember that well what they all look like

Your white Cable suit is way better than mine...
I like the bumblebee (yellow/black) Magneto in the Suupabuu edits on my site a lot better than blue/yellow Magnus since that's what the XvSF sprite (http://www.yourpimpspace.com/myspace-video-game-sprite-images/120) looked like TMK. I like how we both wanted that kind of color scheme. A man after my own heart.
I like your Colossus grey bodysuit, but I would use a different shade of red. That particular shade looks strangely like Ghostbuster 2 ectoplasm to me.
I think Dan and Charlie are going to be hard to make look bad. What a great job they did on those guys. Capcom sprites seemed to get a lot more color love.
Row likes your green Sentinel.
I looked at Guile, but most of his colors look pretty good already. Same with Strider. Somebody (Clock?) mentioned a pink Strider would be good though?
I like some of the ideas of what you've done, but I think the non-"realistic" colors would be a little too distracting for me. My design goal so far is to have it look seamless. I will likely fail.
I would enjoy stealing your colors for blackred Colossus and the white Cable.

As regards Megaman's eyes, I think they're reusing his mouth color + black for the blinking he does... ? Color 14 is his eyelids TMK.
Yeah, the extra palettes makes a lot of this interesting. I'm very OK with a 80-90% solution though.

Preppy - I thought Bumblebee in your Evo disc looked a little odd so I checked...
http://youtube.com/watch?v=NzGhNGn-bYA (~50 sec in)
XSF Magneto was totally yellow and blue. The NASA Sentinel was fantastic though.
Big3D - If you're bored (ha), how about Shadow-Lady-style Team Z? (Pink SL, not blue...) Those green accents were hot. Also - Preppy has no requests for Megaman? I'm surprised.
Random question - do we know anything about how they are doing palette effects, and whether it would be possible to add/remove them? Is it just in the palette data file (like color X goes from A to B over some time), or is it in the character's states themselves?

Random about yellow/blue Magnus. That doesn't actually look good in the video. I'll pull out XvSF tonight and check all the palettes and see if there's anything great, but I think Bumblebee >> yellow/blue so far. =)
I wanted white for Megaman HP, will probably darken up Megaman A1, and think I'll try to make a gold/yellow HK Megaman to go with gold/yellow Tron. The other colors are OK to me - I kind of like the ugly "Hot Dog" (mustard/ketchup) A2 Megaman. I don't know - I'll likely see what other people do and if anything interesting shows up, try to copy that.

maybe your problem is that you arent applying the palettes or patching them
before you exit the program click file> Patch
thats how you save it
and dont use that save as ADX thing or whatever it doesnt allow you to reopen the files

Big3D was this the Palette Changes you were talking about?
...I did custom colors for storm on A1, A2, Storms color will change back to the original color during a light or heavy punch, my storm is black she will flash back to the original on A1 or A2 during the attack, This is crouched, standing, or in the air, but once she lands after a series of lp's or hp's the color glitches back to the original until the edited frames are used again. If it's not, what exactly is causing this? and how do I fix this?

yeah thats what i was talking about
here this is what i found, i edited HK color
Storm
18 HK
Storm has flashing palettes, for when she does her attacks the (light, medium, dark) refer to what shade of the original color they should be
Medium 01 (01-09) Hair/Costume/Cape
01 (10-15) Face/Cape Lining
Light 02 (01-15) same as above just light tone
Dark 03 (01-15) same as above just dark tone
(22 light, 23 medium, 24 dark) (01-15) same as above - Flashes during moves

well the way i found best is find the color you are looking for... either on another palette or online... find the RGB for it and put that as the middle color, then copy it across the board for that selection... like dooms cape, then lighten it to the right and darken it to the left to make a smooth transistion
example
(darken and lighten using the luminance option... make it even though
Dooms cape colors
O = original
- = darken
+ = lighten
[ + + ][ + ][ O ][ - ][ - - ]
i hope that helps some of ya

^ i had the same problem. Heres the post i made after some experimentation that fixed that issue.
After 6 more coasters...Finally successful! I recopied the MVC2 folder from my 3-in-1 (selfboot), followed all the steps from the original PDF (from combovideos.com), used exoboot NOT cdrwin, then discjuggler and it works fine...the only thing i did differently than before was leave the discjuggler options at default (didnt touch the advanced stuff as it said to in the newer PDF) and originally, I didnt switch the 1st_read.bin with the one in the .rar because it didn't say to in any of the steps, but after reading some old posts here, I did and it works fine now. Maybe/Hopefully that'll help others that was experiencing the kick to menu screen after sega problem or any other problems.
I gotta go back and fix the volumes and switch some songs, but im glad it works now.
Does anyone happen to have the old PDF still? i cant find it on combovideos anymore.

I can help with any selfbooting problems anyone might have, but not if you're using tool. If you're having problems with the Echelon self boot, I'm your man.

is it possible to send files of color edits of a single character to one another? I like some of my edits but also some of preppy's and big3d but not all of them.

the only way would be to send the DAT file of that char
but it would send all the other buttons edits for that char... right now there isnt a way to trade/send a single char/button color to each other
but remember SuupaBuu is still tinkering with the program, and im helping him with the palettes
just give it time

Using the echelon method...how would one burn a Marvel without changing the music? just have an original one?
Also what's the easiest way to just make a copy of a custom marvel? Echelon of course.
I can't play this in nullDC tho : /

well if its not loading up in NullDC then dont burn it
only burn it if it works in NullDC
the only problem i ever had was with the dummyfile size... mine was too big
i mean there could be a list of things that go wrong... when you make the ISO i normally make sure that the "keep pathnames" box is unchecked an di have the make UDF image things selected other than that i have yet to run into any probs

Doesnt the copy n paste method work? Someone copy this text here
(0000F333FCCCF555F444F333F222F111F333F111FDDEFCC EFAACF779F668F557)
And paste it into the palmod program. Copy everything including the parenthases(is that rite???) This is an IM color. First go to select all then paste. See if this works.

i dont know if it will work because of the two boxes at the begining
but yeah copy the entire thing the ( ) too
or you could just manually put those into the palmod program
just start with the first F
and start in the palmod program on the second box, the first box you should never mess with unless you want huge black boxes on the screen

Yes, just replace the ADX files with 0 byte files.
Or get TDC Final v2, and when asked to select which music you want, click on the red circle with a slash through it on the bottom. That'll play without any background music.

nice... but try and transition your colors a little bit... the solid look is ok, but a small transition from grey to black looks much nicer... IMO
oh and try making the creases in his armor almost black, like the 2 lines that show on his shoulders would look good black

hmmm
try and lighten the black lines a little and find the lines that follow the same crease and matche them or maybe just lighten them a bit
ok maybe i might have been wrong about the whole near black lines, i forgot what those lines are linked to
just play around with it
try starting with the color block ID: 02
make that 15 15 15, then 03 make it 14 14 14 or 13 13 13 you know just pick somehting like that and follow it down the line
maybe not make the inner armor complete black, try lightening it up just a little bit, maybe the first 3 blocks of that set

well it is still too dark
try not making it that black, lighten it up some more, just seems too unnatural
try and blend it into the white as best you can
the sentinels look pretty good too... but still the blackout effect doesnt always work, try and lighten the black just a little bit, at least by one
that way its not the same color all the way across the selection
keep up the work, you will get the hang of it
as for me im off to bed
see you guys tomorrow

so with one NullDC...I get the error message "unable to load nullPvr_Win32.dll plugin, errorlevel=-104" before the screen where I picks which plugins to use. Then when I load the CDI it's all choppy and you can't see a thing....then it turns half/half blue/black
then with a different NullDC, some public beta one, that error doesn't come up but when I try to load a CDI it crashes.

Pink Sentinel looks good to me, but I'm sure you guys can and will offer some suggestions.
Pink Mags and Cable could look a whole lot better. I'm not sure how to improve on them though:
