Tired of importing and paying those insane shipping costs? Or waiting for a site to restock?

You're in luck.

Hori will be bringing the Real Arcade Pro to the US shores. There will be an official US distributor for the sticks. Expect them to be ready for sale in September! Start saving up! If sales go well, other Hori sticks and future ones may come to the US as well!

I'll post more when they are available for sale.

I didn't read this anywhere. I know this because I'm part of the US distribution team. :)

Sounds incredibly unheard of expecially from hori, and if this is true i hope they put sanwa buttons in it ;P

MarkMan

Unreliable. lol. Oh well, it's usually the uninformed that make stupid remarks.

Believe me, Hori is coming to the US. Why do you think Hori sponsored and donated prizes to EVO2004? They're trying to get their own space in the US market, their best chance is for the fighting game community.

wow very good news. thx Mark.

one question tho, can u put something underneath the plexi or whatever it is, like custom art??

-tokendagreens =)

MarkMan

Actually it's a solid piece of reflective metal/hard plastic. You can do it though if you decide to put your own plexi on it though.

It's a sheet of mirror-like metal. The buttons are not Sanwa but the stick is.

Very cool.

What about pricing?

platinum_pinoy
08-30-2004, 01:28 PM
I'd say about $100 is going to be the cost. If it's cheaper than that, I'd buy one for sure.

Fuck. I guess you pay for what you get...still I'll just mod Pelican one of these days...

I thought it was gonna be $70? Or it might've been $79.

I'll get one for shizzle.

Well, it's just my speculation, honestly. If you were to buy a hori stick overseas, it would cost you $80, and that is without shipping and handling (which is another $40-$50 making the total to be an average of $125). So, if they were to sell these things in America, then you are looking at a $20 markup for import fees. Let's cross our fingers and hope for a bargain...

It sounds like you're talking about an STD. It's you get what you pay for.

I hope the stick sells for around 80$, because for 100$ I can easily build myself a custom.

it'd be awsome if it really did come out, though i'd probably just rather buy one from darkside.

Had I known this before, I wouldn't have bought this Pelican.

Yarr. We'll see.

Coming in september? ...but wouldn't Gamestop or EB have already put up info on this stick? Although EB announced Hori's FFXI's Vana'diel clock.

September? If that is true then this is straight-up awesome.

If I have the money at the time I will pick one up.

DOH... :looney:

Yeah I'm with nothingxs I would've held off trading in the games I used to buy the Pelican and got the Hori if I knew about this. Only ended paying $15 for it tho' but still. If the Hori is still coming out for sure and supports the Xbox headset and has the three inputs for each system(like the Pelican) I'll go ahead and get one anyway, I can still trade in SSX3 and see how much I can get for that.

Here is what I can say...

Hori of Japan and www.VGONetwork.com will be bringing two of the most sought after products in Japan to the US!

First off is the Final Fantasy XI: Online Vanadiel World Clock. It's a neat item which displays both local time and the actual game time in Vanadiel so you'll never miss anything going on in your FF world!

A special for the first 20 people to preorder the clock, it will be $39.99 with a FREE BradyGames Final Fantasy XI: Online Strategy Guide and free USPS Priority Mail(2-3 days) shipping! There are other shipping options, if you'd like UPS it's 5 dollars more, or UPS 2nd day air it's $13 more. Every order after that though is still a steal at $45.99 with free USPS priority mail shipping! You can't beat that price anywhere, this is direct from Hori to you, courtesy of Hori and VGONetwork. Other sites sell this clock for upwards of $100.00 USD! Check ebay, it's insane, just get it direct!

And the deal everyone is looking forward to... the Hori Real Arcade Pro Fighting Stick is coming! It's going to be $84.99... wait for it.... FREE SHIPPING! That's for the first 20 preorders... After that, it will still be one hell of a deal, $90 with free USPS priority mail! More details on the Real Arcade Pro when it's closer to sale time. The Final Fantasy Clock will go on sale first, support Hori and show then that the US crowd needs their products!

If this goes well, we will see future Hori products... !

Look for more info soon at www.vgonetwork.com !

Hey, I got a question, Markman. Will these hori sticks be distrubuted by one company (probably online) or can we got to our local gamestop, ebgames, or best buy and pick one up?

Whoa! That price is way too steep for my budget. You think maybe Hori would consider releasing their other products besides Hori Real Arcade Pro Fighting Stick? Like this one (http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-m-70-4ra.html) perhaps?

In any case, I’ll try and make forth the effort in purchasing this stick, both because of their top quality and support. It definitely won’t be anytime soon, however. T.T

Well, if you consider the overseas shipping charge, that stick is going to run you at least $75.00. You also have to consider that the real arcade pro is the latest edition and the top of the line of hori arcade products, so it is probably going to be worth the wait and extra ten dollars to buy. But I guess if you want to save $10, it's cool.

Isn't the purpose of Hori releasing their products to the US consumer so that we won't have to pay outrageous overseas shipping costs?

Very true. I couldn't even phantom the idea that a stick so expensive from a company with such good reputation would suck. I am just bitter about not having enough money to purchase Hori Real Arcade Pro Fighting Stick anytime soon. -_-

Also look at the Hori Flight Stick that is bundled with Ace Combat 5. It retails for $129 here in the U.S. If you take the game out it's $80. Not cheap, so the stick price makes sense.
Some one will start selling them on Ebay, and you'll probably save about $20 bucks, better than nothing!
