I wanna order a MAS from you with my specifications. How long will it take and how much is the shipping to NY.

You can order on my website and pretty much choose everything how you want it. Here is the link.

http://www.alphaelectronics.us/pd_mas_systems_super.cfm

As for shipping times, it usually takes MAS Systems about 3-5 days to complete a controller if they have what you need in stock. If it takes longer than that I would email you and let you know of any delays, but thats round about how long it takes on average to make a stick. Then the shipping time would depend on what shipping method you want to pay for. It can be shipped either ground or 3 day delivery, both options you can choose on my website when you're checking out. If you dont feel comfortable with the online ordering, you could give me a call and i'll take the order over the phone. My phone number is listed on my website. Post here or email me if you have any other questions.

wouldn't it just be faster to go to MAS dirrectly?

Its going to take the same amount of time to order from me than it would to order directly, with the exception that my shipping charges will be less than theres. I have a discounted shipping structure which I pass on to my customers, so thats why people order from me instead of ordering direct. Not only that, but we are currently in talks to make Alpha Electronics their official online store. They may be stepping away from selling directly alltogether so they can focus on manufacturing and on creating new products for the marketplace. Things arent final yet but we are working things out daily.

It's been 2 weeks since I sent you the money. I thought it was going to take 3-5 days to make the arcade sticks. You haven't updated my status online or on your site and e-mails. So why is it taking so long? IS there some sort of problem? I'm not mad i'm just concerned.

Does anyone know if a MAS stick will work with an Innovaton X-Connection? Alpha Electronics used to list them along with the MAS sticks so I bought one. It took two freakin months to get to my house and now that its here I find it doesn't work with my stick. I checked their site today and I saw they don't carry them anymore. That makes me kind of nervous. I tried it with a regular PS2 pad and it works but with the MAS it is a no go. If it doesn't work then a pox on Alpha Electronics!

I sent you a PM just a few days ago, but at any rate, heres the update. I just got off the phone with the owner at MAS Systems and the reason there has been a longer than usual delay is that they have had some issues with their ps2 to xbox adapters, and they had to resolve that problem. They've got a new adapter that is supposed to be pretty close to lag free, and it should be ready to ship early next week. Sorry about the delay but once I put the order in its out of my hands if you know what I mean.

We still sell the X-Connection but I took it down temporarily due to some miscommunications with the company. Apparently they didnt update their information or phone number on their website, so I would put in orders and they would never ship out because I was calling the wrong number. That was corrected and it should be up on my website shortly. As for the compatibility with the MAS joystick, I remember mentioning in an email that I wasnt 100% sure that it would work with the MAS joystick, and unfortunately it turned out that it might not work with it. There were no claims on the site of any sort that the X-Connection worked with the MAS joystick so it was a risky shot and unfortunately it didnt work. I am however willing to do an exchange for you. Send me the X-Connection with $5 (to cover shipping) and i'll send you the new adapters that MAS Systems is putting out with their controllers. That way you can get full use out of your joystick. If you would like to do that drop me an email and i'll set that up for you.

I just spoke with them today and the holdup has been on the adapters (which came in over the weekend) and the P360 sticks which just arrived today. Once they mail it out though you will receive a tracking number, and I will also update the website with that information so you can see it all the way home. Looking back on most of my orders for August/September it looks like 90% of my sales were on P360's, and it seems that Happ is not able to really keep up with the demand for these sticks in the marketplace. May has to do with all the fighting games coming out in these next few months. :xeye:

Everything came in the package but I was missing both of my x-box adapters that I ordered. They are some really nice arcade sticks once you get used to the plastic feel on the sticks. Also, the wires seem to be sensitive if you move the wire connected to the controller port it seems to get easily disconnected. The p360 is great once you get used to it. I need to press the the fierce and roundhouse button really in order for the move to work.
Update*
As, for the disconnect and button problem it was my dreamcast's fault; I guess the dreamcast got messed up when it was outside for a week. :wgrin:
So I bought a used dreamcast for $15 bucks and now the arcade sticks work perfectly.

I bought a MASS stick via alphaelectronics and mainly want to say that i had absolutely no problems while dealing with him. Any questions i had were usually answered within a few minutes which is strange when you're used to having to wait days for a response :P
Really cant recommend him enough.

The stick however was and still partially is the issue. I wont go into detail as i have already done so on some threads here but basically diagonals were not working, i got pissed + so took the P360 apart, aligned the LED thingies inside and omg hey presto the diags are here. not sure if they're perfect yet but ill keep testing.
How hard is it for MASS to test their damn sticks for a few minutes eh?
really poor in my opinion.

Like i say go check the threads out for more detail and gl fixin it viper :)

To conclude:
alphaelectronics = da bomb
MASS = few issues need ironing out

Thanks for the honorable mention. :) As I mentioned earlier, the P360's they've gotten recently havent been too good to them, so they stopped offering them with their sticks. They are waiting on Happ to get their act together before they decide on offering those again.

Majeh: Glad you got your controller and that you like it. I knew you'd eat it up once you got it! lol :)

ViperBeam: For the issue with the directionals, you'll have to call them up directly. They'll get it fixed, whatever the problem might be. Thats the good thing about MAS Systems, that when something goes wrong they will back up their product more than any other company out there. Give Lynn a call and let her know you're one of my customers, and explain the problem. Did you receive your adapters yet?

Its definitely up in the air right now as to when they will offer them again. They will try again once things get straightened out with them to see if it works any better, so it could happen at any time, or maybe never. I'll definitely update my site once I get any word from them.

Not all the P360s were defective, just some of the later batches that they received. The joysticks that have those problems are covered under their warranty so if something goes wrong you can always have them fix it for you.

how does the competition w/ medium spring compare to P360?

SoulHadou
10-28-2004, 08:39 PM
Well, if sales is any measure, after looking through my past sales I sell alot more of the competition sticks than I do P360's. It may be due to the increased price, or because of the lack of quality of the recent batches, but at this moment I would say you would be better off with the competition stick, as it is the stick that most arcade cabinets use.

Has anyone from Canada (or more specifically Toronto, Canada) ordered a stick from alphaelectronics.us? I'm asking because, in trying to place an order today, I received a message that the site was unable to process my order because of my address. Has anyone else had this problem? I've already e-mailed sales@alphaelectronics.us and PM'ed soulhadou, but I don't feel like waiting for days just to place an order.

Specifically, this is the message I get:

Sorry, we cannot continue your check-out process. This may due to several reasons:

1. We temporary lost connection to our shipment company and cannot obtain a correct rate for your shipment.
2. Your shipment address is out of our service area.

Please try to check-out again after 15 minutes and/or change your shipment address.

I did however drop it off at the post office about 2 days ago and it should arrive sometime today or tomorrow. eBay orders are usually smooth as anything but getting prepared for a wedding has taken alot of my attention. If you send an email ahead of time letting me know you're a member here at the SRK forums, I'll work out special pricing for you as well. That's a good question. Some time ago I thought we were on track to taking over their online website so that they could have a way for people to buy online, but they decided against it for some reason or another. I would imagine the other reason is that they aren't up on how to use the computer to sell their stuff. That's where someone like myself comes in and takes care of that for the online community. :wgrin:
