UK tourny well in advance.

I didn't wanna hijack Scoot's thread so I decided to make my own. Anyway, I brought up the issue of somebody hosting a UK tournament in the other thread and well I'm here to try and get things started, if possible.

Can anybody please arrange for a CvS2 tournament for in 2 to 3 months time? I would be hosting one if I could but I can’t as I’ll be going to Uni in a week and living with some random people. The reason to set it up so early is there is no reason not to do so. From my experience if you try to arrange something the sooner, the better. So, if you would probably attend a tournament just post here.

I would much rather that we played on the console version as some of us have never ever played on an arcade stick. The people who want to play on sticks can just bring their own. Plus there is the scary issue of RCing.

(EDIT)I forgot to say it's not just going to be a tourny. Hopefully we can get a lot of friendly matches in. I'm not gonna travel all the way to London only to play everybody 3 times. I want a lot more games.

Cod's idea for Arcade games sounds good, Even though I cant use stick I would be up for a sess down the trocadero, if we go their on a friday nite we can catch the corner trap crew and play the likes of Ryan Hart, Chunkis and The Chef. Also goodge street has shit sticks but a decent Alpha 3 scene friday nites, They got CvS1 their. Namco world might be cool but the Cvs2 Machine dosent allow 2 player at present.

Ditto. As I've said Some people never play on a stick, me being one of them, I would get slaughtered on a stick. I've tried an old Saturn stick once and I couldn't even do a dragonpunch. I use a PS2 pad. With a home tourny it would be a lot more relaxed and casual. Matches can be saved and it costs nothing to play.

So Kneel, is it going to be a home or arcade tourny?

Good points about the arcade stick. Im pretty handy with a stick but a pad puts us on an even playing field... no excuses! Plus, once the tourney is over we can all get some more games in too. Any ideas on where we can host this beast?

I've just moved into Leicester and I can't host a tourny as I'm also in shared accommodation. I don't mind travelling a fair distance though.

My new accommodation has broadband also. Not to chose the speed. I'll prolly go for 1Mb as I'm rich :rolleyes:. So, if any of you kids see a "supermalek", SupMalek" or anything that has Malek in it on Live within the next couple of weeks it will be me :tup: . Back to the tourny: Can anyone host at all? If push comes to shove I might be able to host a small tourny. It says on my tenancy agreement "occasional overnight visitors aloud". Notice "visitors", as this might mean that it's ok to bring a dozen people into my room :woot:. Anyways, if I hosted it it would be much more shitty than a tournament hosted by someone who actually has a house or say, lives at thier parents' house :razz:.

I should be free on weekends. It'd be a bigger problem for me if you host on a Sunday as I would have to go home very early to get to Uni the next day. Personally I'd prefer Saturday.

Well, it looks like I'm going to have to host. There are three problems with this: -
1) I live in Leicester whereas the majority of you live in Loncon.
2) I can't host a big touny. I haven't actually decided on the number of players yet.
3)I've never hosted any kind of tourny and don't know exactly how to organise it.

Anyway, It looks like it will have to be post Christmas. Since I have announeced that I'm prolly gonna host the tourny please put your name down if you can be arsed to travel all the way to Leicester to play. First come, first serve.

Im substituting my 3S time back over to CvS2 from today. Gonna pick up N groove a whole new set of characters to practice with. You can still find me on 3S late nights but CvS2 is my game :tup:

For the tourney, its real nice of you SupMalek to try to host it. But like Cod said Im not sure how big the turnout would be. Okay, tourny canceled as nobody can be arsed to enter. Oh, the humiliation!

Halo2 is awesome because it's very much a social game. HL2 is awesome because it's HL2 and it uses keyboard and mouse.

I'm so pissed off lately. : I've just built my own PC just so I can play games like HL2 and the motherboard doesn't even realise the proccessor is an Athalon 3200 XP. It keeps setting it to 1.1GHz. Every time I change is to 2.4GHz the computer just keeps restarting. It's driving me crazy. :mad: Looks like I'll be playing Warcraft 3 online for a while. Oh well!
