Ok I think that I spelled everything right this time
Which tourney are you talking about Brent? Sorry been working waaaaaayyyyyy to many hours lately to keep up. I probably won't be able to go any way, but maybe.
Hey dude, all I know is that Fort Wayne, Giefitis ( which I gave to Tim tonight on XBox  ), and BWO are spelled correctly so it's all good to me.
October 9th is the next Cleveland tournament. This is the one they are having at that club. Remember when we watched some club videos on your computer that one night? But yeah, right now we got 1 full car and we're just trying to find a way for others to be able to tag along too, like Tim or others.
--- edit ---
Ok....so it appears the tournament is not at that club at all. It's been moved to the Play Cafe, the same place we went to last time.
Here is the tournament thread...

Hmmm I was thinking about having a party on the 9th, but that is a no go. I didn't realize that was the same day as the Ohio tourney. I have to work that day so I won't be able to go this time.
Maybe a few weeks after that or summin. Which is actually a good thing, it will give me more time to get things worked out here.
Carlos: Happy birthday. How old are you now?

FOR EVERYONE THINKING ABOUT GOING TO CLEVELAND!!!!!!!! I need at least two other people to come along. I do NOT have the gas money to go to Cleveland without others helping me split the gas. With tolls, gas, and food (if people split it with us for example over a pizza) I'm thinking about $20-25 bucks should do the job. Anyone wanting to come along? I have three spots open. Please let me know as soon as you can!!!!!

09-23-2004, 10:17 AM
Hmmm...cleveland...I forgot about that.
Well let's see who's going for sure
Me
Brent
Milan
I think that's it...Gary isn't 100 percent I don't think, and I still haven't heard from Ray.
I'm also not sure about who's driving. I know I am, but Crono needs people to go with him to drive. I'm not sure if Milan is riding with me or not (although last I checked he was).
The only thing I'm pretty sure of is regardless of what happens with the tournament (it being moved around, changing it to one day, etc) we are still staying 2 days. Either we leave Friday night, and stay til Saturday, or we leave Saturday morning, and stay til Sunday or so. This is so I get enough rest. The first way would benefit Tim more, but the second way would benefit Brent more. Of course if they keep it two days, then Sat/Sun would be the only way, cause then we could enter all the tournaments we planned to enter. Either way, I'll leave it to you all to decide...I've taken the whole weekend off (fri, sat, sun) so I can leave whenever. Whatever decision you guys come to is fine with me. As far as if anybody wants to ride with Crono Marle...that's fine with me. In fact that would create more room. But I don't care either way. As a matter of fact, Crono...if you want to go that badly I can loan you 20 for gas. Just make sure you pay be back sometime.
Carlos - First off, wtf? You bring the ass over the night we don't show huh...ok I see how it is  lol...it's cool though. I'm glad you got what you wanted on your birthday. Do you wanna check this tournament out or do you have to work? Make sure you ask Andy for me too. I don't have his number so I can't ask him.
Oh yeah...I should mention what I'm charging this time around. I think 12 from everybody should do it this time around. Why's it more? Well...since we're staying two days, that means gas money driving around cleveland. Anybody got a problem with that?
As of now I was planning to ride with Dave. I can move over to Tim's car if need be, although I'm still needing to save money and $8-$10 dollars just for gas money would be a great start. Of course, I don't see any reason why anyone else deciding to go would ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO ride with Dave, so that's my plan and I guess the advantage of being the one of the first 2 or 3 guys acknowledging that I'm attending.
Tim - If you (or Dave or any other buds) are looking for some tourney practice in that crummy CvS2, lemme know and we can hook up on Live. I understand that with just a keyboard, practicing Super Turbo on Mame isn't really worth your time.
By the way, does anyone play Tiger Woods 2005? Or is anyone planning to play DOAU or MK:D? Just curious since these are games I have already or plan to pick up. Basically I'm just disappointed that I bought ESPN football in large part because people were saying they'd play and bought the game, yet no one plays. :wtf:
crono_marle
09-24-2004, 11:49 PM
Dave: Will you have room in your car? It would really help me out to only have to drive to Ft. Wayne. Let me know.
Ghettoontherise
09-25-2004, 03:15 PM
Crono - It's hard to say. all 4 spot in my car are "taken" right now. However, I haven't heard from one guy at all, and another one isn't 100 percent sure he's going. Being the kind of guy he is we probably won't know until a day or two beforehand. I would still plan to drive though if I were you. Perhaps you might get "lucky" and a spot opens up...but I don't want to say I have a spot for you when I really don't. I'd rather you be safe than sorry. And if you need me to spot you on money I can...just let me know.
Ghettoontherise
09-25-2004, 03:23 PM
Oh yeah...one more thing I thought I should mention...it's a little late but...
!!!GRUDGE MATCH!!!
MATT "FRECKLES" KRAL vs BRENT "SEXY GOLD MEDALIST" WERLING
!!!TONIGHT AT 9PM!!!!!
!!!HILLCREST BOWLING ALLEY!!!
In a clash of bowling titans only one will emerge the victor. Anyone needing something to do tonight should come out and support your Fort Wayne scene!!!!
If you need help getting there...well...shit look it up in the phone book! Then mapquest that shit!
And from the ash and rubble, only one big sexy gold medalist can emerge. That, folks, would be me. :encore: Time for everyone to drop to your knees, bow, and congratulate the winner for being such a skillful bowler. In fact, poor "Freckles" felt so bad afterwards that he had to quit bowling and run to grab himself a pitcher of beer and drink away his sorrows :wasted: while watching the champion put on yet another skillful exhibition against a surprise "Ghetto" challenger. Ah, what a fun night!
Dave - Start taking my advice for how to spice up this Bloomington tournament. These things could have a lot more "variety" to them and be a lot more fun for us, the Indiana players, if you'd just think about some of the stuff I'm telling you. :shy:

i just had to stop in and say what's up to the fort wayne crew in their new thread. good thing ya'll can spell after so many tries:clap:
anyway, what type of things are you talking about brent? i'm sorry, but i won't be able to make it to your tourney because it conflicts with one of UK's home football games. but you guys definitely need to bump that thread out of obscurity so more people will attend from out of state. just my $.02
peace
My ideas widely vary, Daniel. Most of them are non-fighting game related ideas that can only come from my sick mind.
My latest idea was after ending all tournaments for the night, bring all the people who placed (and therefore won cash from the tournament) over to another nicer lounge, where many of IU's finest and hottest ladies would await. There, the players could spend their tournament cash winnings on the ladies, like going to a "gentlemen's club" or whatever you want to call it (aka a titty bar).
What do you think?

09-28-2004, 07:49 PM
I talked to Andy yesterday and now our Ken vs Urien(AKA Good vs Evil) matches have now been replaced by Alex vs Twelve matches(wtf?) only now these have so much more HATE to them. But I was thinkin about goin to the tourney but it seems like there wont be any room unless like i drive or something i dunno Andy is goin to Arizona to visit for a week and i think it may be durin the tournament otherwise if the dates dont conflict(when was it again?) he wants to go.
Brent- Im likin these ideas. I personally think there should be a North vs South tourney or maybe a Sega Tennis Doubles event im pretty sure people would love seeing me and dave "work as a team". Hell why not a Pac Man Vs match. Even tho i wont win(you bastards). And on ur latest idea are you talkin about having girl co-eds strip for us in a dorm lounge or actually goin to a strip joint? Cause the former is pretty damn funny when i play it through my mind. And for some reason i see dave waving all his cash like it was on fire!
One final note I was reading this big plot canon for SF http://orochi.com/sffaq/characters.html and to my surprise(or me laughing off my ass) i learn that Zangief is gay! Hey Abe maybe you shouldnt call it Giefitis rather Gayitis! HAHA LOL ROLF LMAO ASL!?!
Two things here:
1) Carlos...
You refer many times to a tournament which you can't attend and Andy apparently will be out of state during this time also. Are you talking about the October 9th Cleveland tournament?
Remember there is also the November 13th Bloomington tournament which I really hope to go to but I'm not sure now. Dave is saying he can't give anyone a ride there since he'll be leaving early. Let's keep in close touch about this IU tourney and hopefully we'll find our way down there.
2) Zangief...
Oh yeah, he's certainly gay. Dave and I have been trying to tell Abe this for awhile now. In fact, just go to google and type in "zangief gay" and you'll get many hits.
To my knowledge Zangief and Eagle are the only two characters that are gay in the SF universe.
Funny thing is Abe is one of the biggest "Vega is gay" people but when it comes down to the truth, Vega is the straight character who has a love for Cammy and Zangief is gay and apparantly might love Ryu (according to that win quote reference on SFA3).
So now that this point is finally and concretely proven, I'll hear no more "Vega is gay" comments from any Zangief users. I'll also hear no snickers as I continue to pick the pink...err...lavendar cyclone outfit in CvS2. Thank you.

Brent- Thanks for clearing everything up i was like extremely confused myself but i knew the cleveland tourney was soon. yeah i need to tell andy whatsup but im pretty sure with the type of job he has he wont be able to get it off. Dont worry about bloomington ill drive if it comes down to it. bloomington is to the BWO like wrigley field is to the cubs. thats our house yo. yeah i read that eagle was gay too im just still laughin about gief that shit is gold. GOLD SON!
I just watched Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Wow prolly the most fucked up movie ive seen recently. Kinda good kinda bad its one of those i gotta see it again to fully comprehend movies. Super Size Me is real real good and i think everybody should watch it. Not that i hate McDeeznuts or that i blame them for making people fat(people should always be held accountable for that shit i wont go into it here) but very informing movie. ok so i rented chronicles of riddick today for the Box and i already beat it. Definitely not worth my 6 bucks. But good thing i didnt buy it. Fable on the other hand is excellent and im even though im almost done with it(light swordguy deal) sure as hell goin to keep playing it.

Well guys...in a strange way, the headline on SRK has struck me to have a...
IMPROMPTU TOURNAMENT!!!!!
That's right...There's going to be a tournament in 3rd Strike at Putt Putt Golf and Games!!!! Yes I know that JT doesn't know, but lets face it...nobody plays third strike other than us anyways...I don't think it'll matter. Anyways, here's the rules.
1 dollar entry/single elimination
Time: 10 pm Friday October 2nd.
1st - full pot + gift
2nd - gift
3rd - gift
I know what you guys are thinking, and yes I indeed have something to give for this impromptu tournament (it could be bonus money...you won't know unless you show). I plan on using this as a small guideline for how the TOC will go this year. This is to also give us an indication on where we are for Cleveland. I'm going to say that EVERYONE from Fort Wayne that plays Street Fighter needs to come out...I'll probably call all of you at some point so none of you have any excuse. It's at fuckin 10pm so I know everyone will be off doing absolutely nothing. And if you aren't registered to vote...well then you have no excuse not to be there. I will even provide the tokens! Look at this as one of Abe's tournament games. You know you wanna come! If this is successful...by some stroke of God, I may hold BiWeeklys until the end of the year with similar prizes results and such.
BE THERE!

Wassup crew TSM(the suprise master) reporting in
Now first things first. Obivousley Carlos has been geting a little tooooo close to Vega lately if he is thinking about gay men :xeye: Zangief is not gay, any of those translations could be taken any number of ways, I believe that engrish always gets translated poorly. But on the other hand, if you take a quick look at the popular/successful Vega players you will notice a trend. Hmmmmm........Brent........Ricky..........Arturo.. ..... :wow:
Don't make me start banning people again :badboy:
OK on a serious note, I think that my not having my party on the 9th was a blessing in disguise. It looks like(right now at least) that my ??? tourney will be a go. And this one will definitely be good.
But I'm not 100% yet. But pretty close. Also tell that chump Milan that I challange him to TTT :wow: Yep that game. First to three( for my sake  ). I have been practicing and I am confident. Matter of fact, anyone who wants to bet against me, it's your lost $1. Of course I will have the usual boring stuff  and also a few suprises. I am not sure when yet, but it will be close. So any input from anyone on bad dates will help. I like to try to make sure aw many people can come as possible.
Hey Carlos I saw that they are putting an EB right down the orad from me. Right off of 469, next to Walmart. You should transfer and be manager there.
Peace.
Why does FW have so many EB stores? This is silly, but whatever.
Abe - Thanks for putting me in such good company. Being a Vega player along with the likes of Ricky and Arturo (actually I'm not sure he's a Vega player) is very nice company.
About your ??? tourney, I'm glad to hear it's shaping up. :)
Any chance you can make it out to our awesome 3rd Strike tourney tomorrow night? It's for a few good causes, as you can see from the SRK headlines.
Carlos - Dude, make it out to Putt-Putt tomorrow night and bring Andy with you. You guys should be part of this little gathering. Plus for some sick reason I'd like to see Twelve being present tomorrow night.

"Ft Wayne is a growing market" is what my district manager said to me regarding why are we goin to have 4 Ebs in ft wayne. Its dumb to me cause the newest store is absolutley the slowest store ever.I dont think id transfer there cause that store is basically on the otherside of town for me and my current store is only like a mile away.(sorry abe) ill try to get to putt putt tommorrow afterwards maybe we could hangout somewhere i dunno. ill talk to andy beforehand.
I cant wait for the next ??? tournament i even got a new challenge for abe. We all know aresnal attacks can subdue giefitis but how about taking you home to paradise city?AXEL ROSE(alex) vs HUGO @ the next ??? tourney.

I am not sure of Jordan's last name but he won't likely play any more tournaments so it's really not a big deal.

Ok, important Cleveland news.
EVERYTHING WILL BE PLAYED ON SATURDAY! The first tournament, CvS2, is starting at either 1pm or 1:30, whatever Fugi told me. I couldn't understand him clearly because he was still in tears and crying from those Amingo/Mags matches. Hahaha.
Regarding Izzy, we assume we're good to go. I will try calling him sometime Monday or Tuesday and will post if I find out anything or if I couldn't reach him.
Tim - Are you driving all the way now? Or do you need to meet with us? We don't even know if we're leaving Friday night or Saturday morning. We should make that announcement soon and hopeully you also have your plans straight.
Carlos - That thread is awesome! The sad thing is many of us (me included) would go for that shit.
Tim again - Thanks for the props. The tournament was real fun and real close. It was round robin with 6 players. Dave, Gary, and I actually tied (we all lost to each other in a circular fashion...Dave > me, Gary > Dave, I > Gary) but the format made it so that Gary was sort of the 3rd place guy out. So Dave and I played a tie-breaker for the finals and it was close but some weird Chun-Li combo (that none of us to this day understand) ended the tourney and all 5 competitors were forced to hail and say things like "congrats, the better player won again"..."you're the 5th best 3rd Strike player in the Midwest" and stuff like that.
Sorry, that's cocky. Of course it didn't go down like that after the tourney. Haha. But we had fun at IHOP with HOT girls. Carlos, you need glasses my friend. And cut your hair.

Brent: Hey, I would love it if we could follow you guys to Cleveland. Last time I got lost but God ended putting me in the right spot (He always comes through for me). Anyway, we're going Friday night. My crew is leaving around 4:00 so I'm not sure what time we're going to be going through FT. Wayne. I would love if others would come with us at this time because it would be nice to get some practice in before the actual day of the tourney. I'm going to need it espcially in Super Turbo.
Everyone: Who's playing Alpha 3??? I'm going to be giving it a try and I'm hoping Andy will as well. Anyone else going to be playing that game???
Andy isn't going to this tournament. I honestly doubt anyone from here will play Alpha 3. But Dave likes to try everything so he might do it.
We'll see what we can work up, Tim, but we're not even sure if we're leaving Friday night or Saturday morning yet. Something will be posted on here as soon as we know, I promise.

crono_marle
10-06-2004, 10:56 AM
Dave: If you mean my group, we're leaving around 4 or 5 which would have us going through Ft. Wayne around 6:30 - 7:30. It would be nice to have a few of us go and stay at Izzy's because this would allow us to get some more practice in.
If it helps Tim and his group out, Friday night is alright for me. In fact, I can't get to Fort Wayne until about 5:30 or so that night. Since Tim can't make it until a little after then, that shouldn't be a problem. It just depends when you want to leave, Dave, as you are the driver. You can decide when is too late or too early for you.
In the meantime, we are still meeting at Milan's house, right?
Tim, if we end up leaving with you guys Friday night (which would be cool, we can all hang out that way, maybe grab something to eat, play games, whatever) then perhaps I should meet you at the usual, Putt-Putt?
Ghettoontherise
10-07-2004, 07:34 AM
Alright guys. It looks like Friday sounds like the best day to leave so that's what we'll do. I will try to be at Milan's around 6. I'll stay til everybody that's going gets there, and then we'll leave. Does that work?
Carlos - Ok ok...fair and square I lost. I guess that's what I get for messing with the 19th ranked player in the midwest. I should stop playing street fighter  .

Question: Are we taking 80 east to get there? How do you guys go? Thanks!
Tim - I'll wait for you guys at Putt-Putt and then we'll go to Milan's house and you can follow us from there to Cleveland I guess. See you tomorrow.
Dave - Not sure when Tim and I will arrive but we'll be at Milan's as soon as we can.

Crono - Yes we're taking I80. As far as I know it's the fastest way.
Brent - Make sure if you read this to bring some CD's to listen to...unless you want to be forced to listen to 1 cd (cause that's all I've got). Also, this may sound random, but did you get MKD yet? If so, I wanna get a match or two in sometime this weekend...I like it so far. Oh, and print out that chat with Nunes if you have it...I have one for you that you may find...interesting.
See you all at Milan's around 6...or as soon as you can get there.

Dave, Dave, Gary, Milan, and Tim - Thanks for coming along to the tournament and making the trip a good one. Great company as always and nice job to us for trying our best to rep again.
Also, Domingo (hey I think that's the real Nigga D ) gave us an invite to join the Chi-town boys for practice some Sunday. Since we cannot make it to their tournament, perhaps we should take them up on that. Besides I wanna beat Floe at Marvel and show Juicy G the power of Amingo. Hehe. Brent: I thought you played great at the tourney. Your moves came out nicely and those final matches were so close. Man, I wish they would have started Super Turbo earlier. I wanted to play that so bad. Did you see all the people playing it around 5?
Ft. Wayne Dave: Man, I thought you played well in Thrid Strike and CvS2. I could see that some moves just wouldn't come out. I know how you felt. I had everything fall apart in my matches a few times. Don't get discouraged! I think you're really good at the game.
Gary: It was nice driving back with you. I got to learn more about you and had a lot of laughs. How's that exercise coming? LOL
My Dave: Great times. Hopefully you can come with me to Dave's tourney.
Milo: It was awesome meeting you! I really got to see a lot of your personality and I can see your mother's reflection in your personality. I thought you did great in Tekken and I think you learned a lot of new tricks as well. Hopefully, we'll get to hang out some more in the future!
Woot! I finally unlocked all the characters to use in Mortal Kombat and Chess Kombat, although I'm missing a bunch of the alternate outfits still. And I only have 2 more Puzzle Kombat characters left to unlock, so that'll be nice when I get that done so I can just focus on getting alternate costumes. Plus I think I still need to get about 2 more specials for Shujinko, a 2nd fatality, and maybe his hara kiri if that needs unlocked.
Does anyone else in our lovely state of Indiana play MK Deception on XBox Live?

Second, I think this would be the best place to get my revenge for what happened a week ago (don't think I forgot). Finally, we gotta tell you bout Ohio man! It was...interesting.

Sounds like a challenge, Dave. You're on! But I pray that you don't have all the characters unlocked because all the Tanya/Liu Kang/Hotaru/Sindel playin' is just making XBox Live players cry and beg me to stop the ass kickings.
If I don't make it out to visit you gents at Jefferson Pointe then I'll certainly be awaiting your arrivals at Putt-Putt sometime after 9pm. Buncha hoes.

Ok there's a few things that need to be said here.
1. The Tournament of Champions is still going on. However, securing a place in Bloomington is...difficult. I may be forced to have it in Fort Wayne. Stay tuned for details.
2. That was a nice picture...
...
...
I was talking about the girls by the way.
3. Chris, Fugi. Are you guys having tournaments in Columbus anytime soon? I heard talk about it, but that just made me wonder more.

I'll ask him to try and get one organized for late Nov or early Dec. We still have a site that should work, but we need to finalize costs and the date and all that garbage. I still definitely want to make one happen though -- something to unite the scattered Columbus scene more and get out-of-towners, too.

AMEN. i sent fugi a PM saying all that same stuff. i think i recommended nov 20th, nov 27th, and dec 4rd as good tourney dates. but the sooner we get the word out, the sooner people can ask off for work and all that stuff. i'll write up the thread and advertise the whole thing, i don't care. turnout will be solid considering i can bring me, taz, eugene, and ryan (infantry) with me, plus c-bus, plus ft wayne, plus cleveland, and plus whoever else would come. that's a really solid turnout right there.
just make sure the place is still cool with us having tournies and one of those dates will work. and tell fugi to get on aim sometime!

Just a short note if you havent seen Team America yet i suggest you fuckin do cause its the goddamn funniest movie ive seen this year. Fuck Yeah.
Boo to having the tournament in Fort Wayne where we have zero chicks.
Yay to having it in Bloomington where they are abundant.
Chris = sexiest cross dresser EVAAAAAR!
Daniel = KY hillbilly (sorry, had to throw that in)
Carlos = the most caliente mexican EB employee
Dave = a drunk who can't sing and passes out in gutters or whever he is currently standing at the time of drinking and singing
Tim = well, I'm having the same dilemma I faced in CvS2 for awhile (and still face when I play it sometimes). I tend to just not care about my record and like to try out weird things or even just practice things with my opponents if we are both on headset and strike up a good conversation. Let's just say I was at #59, but I made friendly with some guy who was playing his 1st set of matches on Live. Ok, I'm beating this guy real bad, but I decide to show him some stuff I learned. Keep in mind the MK ranking system does not tolerate losing. So after losing (literally throwing 2 matches to this guy just to practice junk and teach him some powerful stuff) I am now ranked right around 1150. But it's ok.
Dave again - Dairou...still undefeated since learning that string. And damn did I get a reaction from that dude I was practicing with when I showed him about half my tactics involving that string. Priceless. Oh, and the masta (Bo' Rai Cho) is still totally undefeated. I don't think anyone can do it.

So who would you say is tops in MK Brent? I have the game as was starting to get into when all of the sudden I can't stop playing X-men legends :wonder: I of course was digging Nightwolf, though I am having trouble with it as I generally do with 3D dial a combo games. But the single player mode was pretty fun and actually teaching me before I forgot about it. Single player is how you open everything isn't it? And I thought Liu Kang was supposed to be dead :wow:
Carlos: We are going to go see team america tomorrow night. It's looks both extremely offensive(hmmmm just like Hugo) and extremely funny(hmmmmm just like your Ken :wow: ). I hope it is as good as you say.

dave- any news on the definite location of your tourney on nov 13th? you guys need to post in that thread more to hype it up too.
hopefully EVERYBODY can make it out to the tourney on nov 27th. it'll be two weeks after the bloomington/ft wayne tourney, so that should be enough time inbetween. this is the first one, and we'll be all about having monthlies if the interest is there (and it is, people just need to show up). cvs2 lessons for all, even though my execution sucks cuz i'm so out of practice! the midwest is going to start becoming very good real quick.......

Abe - Yes, single player mode is the way to unlock all known secrets. You can gain koins by playing thru mortal kombat and puzzle kombat modes, and also all throughout konquest mode. All keys and other things like Shujinko's moves (and fully aged Shujinko himself) are only gained through konquest.
About Liu Kang, he is dead. But that doesn't mean he can't compete in one form or another. As a member of the MK team says, no one ever truly dies in the MK universe.
Nightwolf is a good character IMO. Don't waste a lot of time with his first style. I strictly use his 2nd style (tae kwon do), and some online opponents seem to only use his tomahawks, so I'm thinking of trying to incorporate a mixture of those to become more effective with him.
I cannot say who the best is. The thing seems to be just to find a tactic that you can get to work well and use it effectively. Many characters have some real tough tactics to deal with. Myself...I've been pushing the character Dairou to players online and offline. I find him to be a real powerhouse and thus far hardly anyone else seems to be catching onto him. That's why I'm spreading the word, so everyone will know about him. The next time we are able to get together I'll be sure to show you what makes Dairou so hard stop, along with simple stuff from Liu Kang (I'll bring my memory card so you can see all the characters) and also Noob-Smoke (mainly Noob with a little Smoke). Oh, and Tanya. Finally, I also seem to find a lot of success using the masta, Bo' Rai Cho.

Brent: I know you don't want the tourney in Ft. Wayne but that is a lot closer to me than IU.
Dave: Can we somehow get a location that would be more comfortable than the Putt-Putt? I think having the First tourney there hurt the overall turnout.
WKDCLWN
10-19-2004, 05:17 PM
Actually Brent that is my faovrite style with Nightwolf right now. I don't like the first one and the 2nd definitely seems the way to go, with the tomohawks mixed in.
Dave: I would offer my place for your tourney, but I have two big problems. First I have to work that weekend. Second, once we get more than say 32+ people in here it starts to get really tight, as I am sure you know from previous parties. I want to talk to you in the future though. Once I get my garage done, I think that we can really get some stuff going on in the midwest.
I can't wait till the next party. I have some good stuff planned that even the veterans of ABH(abedcade havok) will appreciate. Just that things aren't working out very good right now. Renee is on the exact opposite shift of me right now. Meaning that she would have to go to work the next morning if I were to have a party this month. Man..... :crybaby: things just can't seem to get worked out right now with my stinking job

ello ello everyone. long time no see. hows everyone doing?
Abe- well, what you started last time we made a visit is still going strong. those few moves you tought amanda have stuck, and i picked up where you left off when we got back. and now, she is a force to be reckoned with. :wow: much like anyone else in the family who plays SF, she gets REALLY agrivated when she loses. but i will say, she has gotten 110% better since the last visit.
i know its a few months off, but what are your plans for christmas? ma said somethin about you and renae doing somethin with her family, and i was wondering if i was gonna see ya at all this year. the rest of the family probably will be going to kansas to visit my grandpa(my dad's dad) and i really dont want to go because i want to spend christmas with amanda. but, are you still going to be up for christmas eve? also, do you know if stevie will be comming up at all either? i just want to be sure, so i know what ill be doing this year.
i know its a few weeks off, but have you gotten a chance to pick up hell's pit(i dont doubt you have), and what do ya think of it? i got it, and at first i didnt know what to think, the first couple tracks(excluding track 2) threw me off, but eventually the rest of the cd grew on me, and over all i think its a pretty good cd.
aaaaaanyway, im out. i gotta wake amanda the fuck up. peace love and chicken greece

Everyone else: indeed amanda is a hell of alot better every time i seem to go over to kyle thats bout all we do. Also i haven't seen it but she says that she has even beaten gill who as all of you know is a little bitch even on easy. As for me i've been picking up Third Strike like i was born to play it i'll say that is my fav. SF game and i've finally beaten gill up a few times then move on to Shin Akuma and God Rugal.
Now as for other news I just saw on TV the other day about King of Fighters Maximum Impact the first 3D KOF looked very good just came out on oct. 14 so i decided i would go pick it up at vid. store to try it out and the SOB's didn't have it yet so gotta wait :( .

Now see, I don't know about the looks, but as usual the mechanics look pretty iffy. In every capcom game, the v-ism's are the most "broken" so to speak. So why the fuck am I not surprised to see a custom, although reset with overheads and stuff, kill a character with 90 percent life? Because capcom doesn't do their homework!
...the custom was cake too...so sad...oh well...there's always Tekken...man I feel like crying.
Dave - That's what I thought little scrub, you better agree with me if you know what's good for you.
Uh anyways, I know I should at least play the game a decent ammount before posting out like I did, but I just couldn't help but feel bored and unimpressed with what I saw. Plus it's just sad that I am literally looking forward to Tekken 5 more than CFE, although it's only $30 for preorder for XBox Live so who knows.
Carlos - I'm afraid I can't just tell you who my secret is or it would cease to be a secret. Patience is a must, my student. However I will help lead you in the right direction and inform you that SHE is gonna be a real problem for all of you and if you wish to learn more about this character you can find all HER frame data, moves, and other goodies in that Brady Games Strategy Guide for Anniversary Collection.
As far as the new DOAU counter system, I am happy. It is certainly an improvement over the DOA3 system, but just barely underneath what the DOA2 counter system once was. Remember that I am used to the DOA2 counter system as being my favorite and disliked the way of doing it in part 3. Overall I'm real happy and I just hope this game doesn't disappoint. It should be fun.

Hey Brent:
I was wondering what makes DOA so good. I've heard a lot of neat qualities about the game like people being able to watch you play and so on and so forth. What else makes it so good?
Well, it's a game that I think allows you to use more variety in each character's arsenal when compared to most other games. There are so many moves to try in certain situations because it might produce a certain type of stun or something.
Also, this is a game where you can counter any and every striking attack, so sometimes the best offense truly can be a great defense. Of course this also means that it's of the utmost importance for the offensive attacker to mix up and vary his attacks as much as possible so that he is less likely to be countered or defended against.
Finally, I would say a few things that add to this game are the need to know the terrain of the stage because that can play a big role in things. Also, I believe that for the most part the characters balance each other out very well in relation to majority of the other fighting games out there.
Oh, I should mention that there are so many different modes of gameplay online that this is truly a revolutionary fighter for XBL. As far as watching matches is concerned, there isn't a mode that is only for watching matches. Basically when you play online in this game you get into little lobbies with a few select other players and it becomes almost like an arcade. While 2 people are playing, everyone else just sort of stands back in line and watches until it is their turn.

Finally I get to actually read, much less post on SRK :xeye:
I had given up trying to even read in SRK lately. Maybe because it is Sunday is why I can see.
Just to let everyone know, Renee and I are on complete opposite crews right now(and have been for a month now). Which means that whenever I have to work she doesn't. So that means me having anyone over is impossible as she will have to work the next day. We have all seen her when she doesn't have to work the next day, heaven forbid we see her when she has to get up for work :wow: I think that everyone whould be banned(myself included) for the next year
But on a positive note I have gotten a few things ready for the next party. I am gonna try to work something out soon. Hopefully Renee will be on the same schedule as I am soon(2 weeks most I think) and I can get something worked out here at the New Haven crib. Of course I have a few suprises for y'all at the next party. I will keep everyone updated if, a big if, SRK will let me.

saddly i have not had a whole lot of time to play SF lately, i finally got my ass a job and have been working and that pretty much has consumed whatever time i would have to play any games. but, hopefully after we get the store all set up, i can get my game back on and be ready to whip all your lil candy asses next time Abe and Renee have a nice lil get together(course, we will be waiting for that saddly  )
Abe- how was hallowicked? i heard that they had to cut the show short because a gang of juggalos got on stage and completely fucked everything up. that true? if so, damn that sucks. maybe if we can arrange it you can come see em with me, Amanda, and Patrick in December. that would be koo. who knows.
anyway, im out. Much Mu Fuckin Clown Love.
Abe, since you say you're trying to work something out, try with all your power to have this gathering before Andy leaves us in the first half of December. We never get to see him anymore anyway, so this would be a great way to finish things out with him. :encore:
Twelve may not have emerged victorious at the tourney, but he gave everyone all they could handle (taking all opponents to the 3rd and deciding match in each set).
Well, when Amingo teams up with Dr. Doom to form resets, that truly is a scary thing, isn't it guys? :wow: Now that everyone is an official Amingo believer, it's on to find other low tiers to team him with. I will be a scary, yet highly unique and original Marvel master around our state.
CvS2, I got y'all in that no problem. I got Ro! Get 'em Ro!
Anniversary Edition, uh, that's not Super Turbo so don't even try to pass that crap off as anything but crap. Who knows where I stand in that game.

Everyone again: I'm thinking of holding a tourney in Hammond. That's only hour from Chicago, two from Detroit, and hour and half from you guys and two and half from Indy. I found a location, screens being set up with nice audio, comfortable seating arrangements and everything. Easy to find too. You guys would literally come from just 30 if you needed to or 80 west. Ok, the immortal is back to post up on a variety of topics that I had mentioned in my last post that I felt very strongly about. Not sure how long or short this will be but here goes...
1) Dave - I'm starting with Dave because first off I know he was real upset about many things this past weekend at IU. I know many things didn't turn out the way you had envisioned. :( However for some of us (at least speaking for myself) I can only assure you that I had a total blast and this was my overall favorite trip to Bloomington of all 3 that I have made. I enjoyed meeting some of the players. I enjoyed the tournament competition. I enjoyed the practice matches with Eric afterwards and the fun MK stuff with Taz at first. I certainly enjoyed meeting those 4 lovely ladies that (Liz, Sarah, Katie, and Sally) who were so kind to let us stay with them overnight. Of course it was also great getting to know Ben a bit better. I had a blast while we went to the party at Lauren and Rejni's place. Hell, I had fun getting the floor mopped with my pathetic Dr. Mario skills by Lauren and Ashley. Was also great go finally really meet Ashley and to see some old friends again like Tim and Alicia and Mike. Finally, you know I enjoyed getting to hang out with Sarah Saturday night, even if I'm still not sure how things went in her view.
2) Carlos - Dude, even though I thought things got strange at times this weekend it is always a real pleasure to hang out with you and I obviously appreciate the ride down to Bloomington. Honestly, I think I forgot to pay you some gas money for the ride down, so you'll have to remind me when we next meet (Dave, if you're still reading this far, I should offer you money as well, at least for the ride back if not for everything else you made possible this weekend). But back to Carlos, I hope you made it home safely and was able to get to work and be productive on Sunday.
3) Jeff - First off I thought it was very cool that you made the decision to attend this tournament again. I was thrilled for you that you gained some form of revenge against Eric in that 3S tournament. Dudley showed Chun-Li what was up. Hell, he smeared Oro in our matchup (I'm still not sure what happened there). :( Also, it was very kind of you to volunteer to drive Carlos back around midnight after he returned to us at Mother Bear's. Honestly I sure wasn't gonna be driving anyone back in a vehicle that wasn't mine.
4) Gary & Milan - What happened? Why didn't you gentlemen choose to attend the tournament? I was honestly expecting to see you both make the trip. Anyway, I'm sure Milan would have had a blast playing some people in Tekken Tag (Moses and 3 guys from Wisconsin) and I know that Gary may have enjoyed some limited Capcom fighters and sleeping on the infamous chair at those ladies' apparement we stayed at.
5) James - JAMES! Haha, that's one word and that's about all I can say. What happened to you, bud? You've missed some tournaments and a party at Abe's, I mean dang dude. But hey, you know we still think about you and you're welcome back anytime man. We still hope you and Heather can attend whenever the next Abe party is and of course you are always welcome to come visit us basically any Friday night (or Saturday if that's more conventient and you let us know ahead of time) at Putt-Putt. We'll be looking to play Tekken 5 when it arrives any day now. And you have got to fear my dreaded Amingo skills in Marvel (yes, I really play him).
Mitch - He won't read this here but sadly he didn't attend the tournament. I was really hoping to hook up with him again, however, I believe that it will happen soon as we get Tekken 5 and hold some tournaments. :)
The overall IN fighting game scene - It sucks. Plain and simple, it sucks and outside of Ft. Wayne is almost non-existent. That's a terrible sight to see. :( I know Dave, Mitch, and myself have recently showed some anger towards the IN scene. Who knows if it will ever get bigger and better. :lame:
Dave's 3rd IU tourney - True, the turnout was pathetic. This isn't all Dave's fault as I believe some others have tried to point to in the tournament results thread. Those guys are going hard on him (the same guys who somehow can't find the tournament location after they are already on campus for 2 hours or the same bunch that shows up about 4 hours late) so even though I have met some of these people and been on friendly terms at other tournaments, and some of these people I know better than that and consider them my friends, you gentlemen can suck the big one for now and live with it. I'm sure we'll all meet up again at the next tournament where some form of ST/AE is held off until the last possible second (after drawing big attention earlier in the day) and cancelled 2/3 times. And also let's be sure to pit the few rare IN players against each other in multiple brackets each in the 2nd round. Shame on your folks for complaining so much about the IU tourney. Fix the problems at your tournies first and we'll talk. :annoy: Finally a huge thumbs down() to everyone who at least once in the past few months said they would come and haven't been in any contact with us since and mysteriously didn't show.
--- edit ---
I didn't answer your question, Tim. I'm not sure how Dave, Carlos, and Jeff fared overall (I honestly didn't keep total track) but I know for me that I sucked as expected in the Tekken Tag and Tekken 4 tournaments. I somehow won 3S which I feel lucky and grateful for. I finished 2nd in AE because of a nailbiter with Taz in the finals (I foolishly went away from Chun-Li in the deciding 5th game).
About your tournament, I certainly am very interested in going at this point but I can't make any promises yet. Hopefully a group of us can come up and play. I promise we will try to make it if things work out for us.

Thanks Brent and Dave for voting on the poll. I hope the crew will come out from Ft. Wayne. We would be in a very nice room. They use the place for weddings. There's a nice lobby area and everything.

Yeah, I know I've been non-existent. I've been meaning to get back on here and get in touch with you guys for a while, but I just never got around to it. I'm actually not even at BSU right now. The bureaucracy shafted me out of this semester of school, so I've been working 40 hours a week as an assistant manager at GameStop in addition to a lot of other things.
Heather ( my other job :razzy: ) is here too now, obviously, and also working 40 hours a week at a bank. She was the one that actually brought everyone up again and made me want to jump back on here. She's going back to see her family the 23rd of December, but if Abe has another party before then we'd love to make it out, we'll just need to know ahead of time so we can take off work.
By the way, is Joe still around? I didn't see him anywhere on the forums.
He's still around Fort Wayne (didn't go to Vincennes) but isn't around the forums anymore. Calling his reason for leaving a "difference of opinion" would be a huge understatement I suppose.
--- edit ---
Tim - Thanks for all the practice on XBL last night. As you can see I have so many things to try out with different characters and grooves that it drives me insane, but anything to keep the different looks coming when a new tourament arrives. K groove Vice/Maki/Cammy(2) might be scary. And of course you can see I like that A groove Vega/Beni/Chun(2).

Hi!
Dave: Thank you for making this tournament possible. I had a great time. The turnout wasn't as high this time, but that didn't bother me so much. I was there more to hang out and be social anyways.
Carlos: I need to thank you for driving me and for letting me use the joystick. The 3S tournament would have been harder on me without it. I'm still not comfortable on a pad.
I think you misunderstood me on one point, though. I would have preferred to have stayed over in Bloomington. I hate hate HATE late night drives, and I would have liked to hang out there more.
I guess I decided to go home with you that night because Dave had plans the next day, and it looked liked I would have been in the way. Also, to get you to work on time, we would have had to gotten up early anyway. And, I'm guessing that staying at Liz's, Sarah's, etc. place would have meant that I would have slept on the floor. :clown:

Everyone: Please keep responding to my thread with the tourney. I would love to see everyone come out and support this because if it's successful then I will hold more in the future.
Abe: I was wondering if you would be able to come to the tourney and bring your crew as well. I think Mike's that great rugal player. Anyway, please come out. The gief needs to be seen in Northwest Indiana!
Brent: Keep that team up! You Maki is killing me. You should play my Dave against her. He plays her pretty good as well. You want to practice again sometime soon?

Ok guys. I just bought Capcom Fighting Evolution/Jam/Strawberries...whatever it's called. Expect a full review later on tonight.
Oh...and who's comin out this weekend
and
James - What up man. You've been out of the loop! Lots of things have happened in your absence. You gotta hook up with us sometime so we can all kick it together.
Crono Marle - I'll hype your tournament up...well...as much as I can of course.
Dave - Yeah so I'll be around Friday night to try this piece of shizznit game known as CFJ. This ought to be good...not. :lame:
Also I'll bring Halo 2 and DOAU with me just in case we have an XBox around and people are interested.
Do you close? I'll be around Jefferson Pointe that night because I am going to stop in at Ulta and buy some cologne as well as look at some different perfumes as possible Christmas gifts for my mommy...err my mom.
Tim - Yeah, I'd definitely appreciate more practice. I'm not sure how many of those characters I'll really be planning to be any decent with but it's worth it to keep trying, I believe. Also I'll be sure to post in your tourney thread even though I don't think anyone outside of our state cares less if Vega comes or not.
Jeff - Hard to say where you would have slept (obviously not the chair). Dave actually slept on a sleeping bag on the floor. Liz gave me the couch which was cool I thought. :karate: Sarah's bed apparantly wasn't available to me. Hah.
---
Come to think of it, I was a little bummed cuz that night after the date and also that morning we saw everyone else but Sarah just stayed in her room all night. Not sure if that's a bad sign or not cuz she's super shy. Was hoping to see her and at least say bye.
Oh wait, I know, it was too many sexy Dairou skills in Deception and too many sexy Chun-Li skills in 3S/AE. She couldn't come out and face me, it was too much to handle. In fact that's why Heather and James had to be away from Ft. Wayne for so long. AHAHAHA!
James - You might wanna lock Heather away before ever coming back to Ft. Wayne. If she lays eyes on my crazy Amingo there will be no turning back! :encore:
Wolfgang
11-18-2004, 04:10 PM
Brent: What the heck are you trying to say? Once you go Amingo you never go... uh... gringo? Pfft. Yeah right. If I still played Marvel (or any fighting game for that matter) I'd have to mop the floor with the cactus bastard (only people who have seen Outlaw Star will get that joke).
Dave: I'm strongly considering picking up Fighting Evolution tonight. I haven't played a fighting game in ages, and I doubt I ever will seriously play one again, but this one looks like it'd at least be good for some fun, if not with you guys than at least maybe with Nathan and Joe once they get back from the service. I don't know how much time I'll be spending on it once World of Warcraft comes out though. :wonder: Regardless, I definately want to "hook up" and "kick it" with you guys sometime soon. I won't be any competition, but I'd welcome the chance to hang out and lose to each and every one of you. I don't have any friends anymore.

Ok...here's my impressions after playing...oh I don't know...an hour of playing around.
Mechanics:
This game has interesting mechanics. With the fact that some characters can move all over the place while others can practically do nothing except walk back and forth, this game may initially seem lopsided. However, upon further playing, I noticed that the Super Turbo characters can sorta hold their own. Right now (and this is different from what everybody else is saying I'm sure) it looks like to me that it's gonna be dominated by 3rd Strike. I'm surprised no one has jumped on the 3rd strike characters yet. Alex can practically end a round off of one mistake and a full bar (stun gun into death). Urien, while DEFINITELY different, is also pretty good (lot faster, and has access to all three super arts...very nasty). Chun is toned down, but still has everything from third strike basically. Yun...well I don't see him as much right now, but who knows. I think this game will also have a big super turbo-like counter character system. People will HAVE to learn one person and be super good with him...just like the old days.
Characters:
Urien - A lot faster in general imo. Specials have about the same lag time and all that. EX special moves and supers don't add to the dizzy meter though which if you ask me is stupid. (That was one of the only justifiable reasons to pick Temporarl Thunder). Aegis traps are there, although there are no unblockables.
Alex - slash elbow...sucks. But the power bomb has more range. His low short, low forward chain is easy to do now. Supers all act the same really.
Chun Li - Same as before. No verifiable cancels like in Third Strike though, which brings her back to reality. Has access to puffball and million legs of doom supers. She can super cancel that overhead special move she has which is new and useful.
Ryu - He's a mix between Alpha, ST, and CvS2. He has combos that should link like they do in ST and CvS2, but don't in this game. Low jab, low fierce, fireball doesn't work which is weird really. pretty strong though.
Zangief - His piledrivers...hurt. Like almost a fourth of your life hurt. He seems to be able to tick much better. He also seems to have better priority on his lariets.
Sakura - Almost a carbon copy of her alpha self except she has her dive kick from CvS2. Activation is a lot like A-groove except she can activate at half full (like v-ism).
Overall the game isn't too bad gameplay wise although they loafed big time on the presentation. Arcade, Vs, Training...and that's it. No edits (meaning no naked Vega's or Booker Z's) I also think there might be more characters in the game. Once you beat the game you get access to Pyron, which seems to fit right on the selection screen, but makes it unbalanced...it just doesn't look right. Almost as if another character should go on the other side...we'll see. Oh, and the graphics...well they've done a few touch ups here and there, but other than Zangief blowing smoke out of his nose (wtf...oh and also...he's not gay I guess. He dreams about women in his ending) they've all been ripped from their respective games...even the Third Strike people...this does indeed...look ugly. Especially the darkstalkers people...I saw Jedah...and thought I was gonna cry.
There will be more later, but that's what I've noticed so far.
So what you're saying is that Zangief is still a big sucky dufus? He must tip his hat to Jedah and call him daddy. :badboy:
Uh, that wasn't meant for anyone in particular to pay attention to. I don't know of any Zangief players in the area. I just like to Zangief bash everytime a new game comes out, for some reason. :pleased:

Well continuing on the game review.
Hauser - Man, the dude doesn't belong at all. He's like Hugo in SNK vs Capcom. However, this also means he has insane range on his normals. His Roundhouse goes full screen. His special moves range from a generic fireball, to Honda's Butt smash. He can link two of those smashes together BTW. He also has a generic rush attack that I think can be unpunishable if done from the right ranges.
Kenji - Straightforward ninja type. However, he is just as good keeping away as he could be rushing down I believe. His moves kinda work that way too, although he has a couple useless moves as well.
Hydron - Man...I can't even comment on this dude...he's WAY too weird for taste.
Leo - Zangief with a sword and a lot more range. Not much else to say about him right now.
Demitri - Probably one of my favorite characters right now. Actually all the darkstalkers are pretty decent right now. They all have tricks they can all use to their advantage. Demitri's dash can allow him to deal with fireballs with ease. Not only that, the guy has some pretty good damage on his moves (for a darkstalker anyway)
Jedah - The most mobile character in the game hands down. He can be anywhere on the screen in seconds. Not only that, but he can hover, and use pseudo triangle jumps to fuck people up (like Morrigan in CvS2). He has an unblockable super (not that bad really, it's easy to avoid if you know it's comin), and can turtle and rushdown just like Kenji.
Guile - He's played a lot like he is played in Street Fighter 2 Turbo. He's a big turtle, and quite effective too. His Somersault Kick has a huge hitbox now. Very difficult to get around it, or even cross him up. He'll be the first one to get hoared in tournaments because of his effectiveness vs ease of use ratio is very good.
Chun Li - I know I covered her before but I just found out that you can super cancel off of her lightning kicks as well...that's just wrong as it can lead to stupid damage if you're dumb enough to not block as you get up over a standing chun li.
That's all for now. I guess by the time I ge around to doing another update, all of you will have played it by then.

One note on Alex in that game you said that his supers act the same but thats not true in one of them. his boomerrang raid does not push him back if blocked like it does in 3S it just keeps goin but the throw at the end just goes through the other person and wiffs. I thought that was kinda wierd. Andy said hes hangin out tommorrow nite hes interested in CFJ I wish i could be there but im goin home home to visit my parents and get some carnitas! THATS STRAIGHT TITS.
Oh by the way I dont think CFJ is as bad as people make it but its not spectactular either. at least its something new to play
Brent i got some kills on u tonite ha! But yeah the reason i didnt stick around i really dont like trainingground matches at all. I just dont like the type of people who play on there(assholes usually) and they aren't ranked. But then again all i really like to do is Big Team Battle rather than Slayer.

Brent and who ever joined our game: That Halo stuff was great! I never got your message. Were you wanting to play a different game? Anyway, good stuff. You're very sneaky, coming literally out of no where!
Haha, Carlos, you got the first kill on me, but I paid you back later. ;)
As you can see I totally suck. This is why I never play any FPS, but I got Halo 2 just because I knew every other XBox owner would too, plus I can play the campaign mode.
And in case you didn't know, Crono37 (the host) is Tim.
Tim, yeah I was able to sneak in a few kills but as usual against anyone I play I just get trashed. Apparently my crazy sneak around style isn't good in FPS games. I should finally take a hint and try something more direct. One guy told me on the mic that I'm crazy cuz I tried a wierd angled surprise attack on that one spaceship level but missed the ledge and plummeted to my doom.
The text message I sent you was just appologizing for not being able to use my microphone (too late, parents were sleeping). I could hear you talking to me but couldn't answer. You just have to look at the icon to the left of the names when in the pre-game lobby. Mine was different from everyone elses cuz I had no voice.
BTW, Gansito10 than joined in a few times is Carlos.

I tried calling Andy today around 11:30 but no answer. I left a message so maybe he'll get back to me. I hope to hang out with him tonight when trying CFE and maybe some Halo 2. :karate:
See y'all tonight. I'll be sure to be at Putt-Putt around 8 or 9 I think. We'll see.

Sounds like Brent had a blast at IU, i would like to hear more on what went on at IU. If everything works out i should be at putt-putt around 10pm.
another new game :pleased:
haha i heard carlos is into halo 2
Just some things on CFE, some of which contrasts with what Dave has posted or told me in person. And some of it is agreeing with what he said.
Ryu does indeed still have his c. jab, c. fierce chain. Zangief is a total destroyer once he gets close...but as always it's IF he can get in close. Jedah has really good mobility and chains. I think the parrying is just as hard if not somehow harder than it was in CvS2. I like Urien's jupiter thunder in this game better than his temporal thunder in 3S because it's quite a bit faster, and it's a nice little combo after his c. fierce. Shin Akuma has some weird chains and has some abilities from the other gaming series' despite only having the SSF2T meter (he can parry and low jump, for example). Many of the characters are hybrids of the current version they represent (ST or Alpha) mixed with some of the abilities they gained in CvS2 (Bison can paint the fence and teleport, Sakura can dive kick, Ryu can shinshoryuken). Oh my, too much other odds and ends to report on. I need to organize all this stuff if I'm going to post about it. Oh well, the game is different I guess, so try it out.
Here I come again, double posting like it's not a thing. I know I shouldn't double post, but bare with me through this one.
Jeff and Gary - I'm not real sure how to get ahold of you gentlemen at will, but I just wanted to let you guys know that I plan to hang out at Andy's for awhile tonight. I'm not even totally sure what time this will be, honestly.
I know Gary has Andy's number already so he can call if he wants. Jeff, I'm going to give you Andy's number and I'm sending you a private message so if you're interested in some CFE, MvC2, CvS2, 3S, SSF2T...whatever we choose to play (definately CFE anyway), then I'm sure Andy won't mind if you give him a call.
Abe - CFE thoughts? I figure you'll have some opinions on Zangief and Leo and I'd sure like to hear them.
---
As far as the Red Earth characters go, as expected, I am interested in Hydron. I think this guy has got some talent. Overall I still need to learn more about the whole Red Earth system in general and then go more in-depth with the characters, but watch out for Hydron.

I copy/pasted this from my livejournal. I thought maybe one or two of you might get some amusement out of it.
Tonight I bring you the Top Ten customers at GameStop I can't stand.
10. People that are too lazy to put things back where they found them.
Honestly, it's not a difficult chore. If you pick up a game off of a rack, put it back where you found it. Hell, at least put the God damn thing back in the section you pulled it out of. In a perfect world everything would still be in alphabetical order, but there's no reason why you can't put a used game back in the used section, and there's no excuse for me finding XBOX games in the PS2 section. What I really don't understand is why people are too lazy to put something back that they just picked up, but they're willing to expend the effort to carry it all the way to the other end of the store before discarding it.
9. People that call in wanting to know how much money they can get.
On it's own, this wouldn't be such a bad thing, and during slow times, it still isn't. But it never seems to fail. We'll get a line of three or four people at the counter, and them someone will call wanting to know how much cash or credit they can get for "a few games." And then they'll proceed to rattle off a list of 15+ games. I'm sorry, but not only do I have other customers to attend to and store matters as well, I have better things to do then give out prices to someone who probably won't even come in anyways. Now I just tell people we're not allowed to give out prices over the phone.
8. People who can't wait their turn in line.
"Alright, sir, and your total comes to-"
::Some random guy rushes into the store and slams a huge bag of games down on the counter right next to the guy the casheer is already helping.:: "Hey, yo, man. Tell me how much I can get fo' dese."
Wait your turn, you inconsiderate son of a bitch.
7. People who don't understand supply/demand, and depreciation.
This is a special breed of person who has apparently lived a portion of their life in a bomb shelter their crackpot spouse or parent made out of the basement since 1996. These are people that come in with ancient relics known as the fabled "PSX disc" and the much talked about "N64 cartridge" an archeologist discovered in their child's closet. They also believe that since these artifacts cost them $50 in 1994 that they should naturally still be worth at least $45 today. And I'm talking about games that weren't even remotely near top title back then. What do these people think we are, a museum/bank?
6. Parents/Grandparents kids have sent in to buy games for them.
I'm torn between pitying these wayward individuals and wanting to take their list and with it deal to them a thousand mighty papercuts so they bleed to death before me. Listen. Kids. BAD IDEA.
Old Man: Yes, um... I'm looking for... ::Checks list.:: Armored Core 4.
Me: Ah, right. Actually, the game you're looking for is Armored Core Nexus.
Old Man: Oh, ok. But do you have Armored Core 4?
Me: Well, Armored Core Nexus is the game that's coming out after AC3, so technically it is Armored Core 4, it's just not called that.
Old Man: Well, the game he said he wants is called Armored Core 4. Can you tell me when that comes out?
Me (gritting my teeth): Armored Core Nexus is the fourth game in the series to be released, so even though its name isn't specifically Armored Core 4, that's the game he's looking for. It will be out next week.
Old Man (after a lengthy pause): So Armored Core 4 is already out? Can I get that?
5. People that won't ask for help.
Ever. They just won't do it. Apparently they're terrfied of me. I mean, if you approach the counter I or the other one or two people working will chime in with a, "Hey, is there anything I can help you with?" But if I'm crouched on the ground putting games away with my back towards you, I have no clue you're there. My spider-sense just isn't developed enough to detect you. But the customer won't say anything. Oh no. They'll just stand there and stare until they've burned a hole right through me, and once I finally stand up and turn around, they have this indignant look on their face, like how dare I keep them waiting. There are also people who will stand at the complete opposite end of the store literally with their backs against the wall staring impatiently at me. Hold on a second while I tap into your wave frequency so we can communicate telepathically. Until then they seem to be content to just let customer after customer walk up to the counter in front of them, and of course they get pissed off at us once we finally wave them over with our smoke signals.
4. Parents who ignore the ESRB rating and buy their kids games they shouldn't have.
I realize it's presumptuous of me to judge what everyone should and should not have, but I stand resolute nonetheless. Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is a prime example. This game is rated Mature for containing graphic and semi-realistic depictions of violence, sexuality, and adult language, as well as glorifying street gangs and encouraging criminal behavior of every type. Now... If you're mature enough to handle this kind of game and you know the difference between right and wrong, fine. It's not my cup of tea, but if it entertains you, knock yourself out. What I can't understand is why any parent would by this for their 4-8 year-old kid. And this is not just one or two kids. It's extremely common to the point that I would be willing to estimate that 30% or more of our GTA:SA sales have been made to kids under 10. And believe me, we iterate, we stress what this game is rated and what it contains. The parents don't care. I had one kid come up the counter just today, couldn't have been any older than 7 or 8, and he was telling his mom how cool it was that you could steal cars and run up to people on the street and shoot them for no reason. And she bought him the game without batting an eyelash. It sickens me. Would it kill you to do some parenting?
1. People who don't know what they what... They just know that they want it.
Random Guy: Hey, man, ya'll ha' dat new game out?
My Manager: What game is that?
Radom Guy: You know, that one game where you fly around and shoot shit.
My Manager: I'm sorry, man, you're gonna have to give me a little more to work with. You don't have a title name?
Random Guy: Naw, man, it's for the XBOX. You know, you fly around 'n' shit and shoot shit. You know what game I'm talkin' 'bout.

*snip*
Workin at EB i get this shit all the time. Only this X-mas i know its goin to be worse than lasts. Couple of things though on ur list that i would address
4. I dont really care if a parents buy kids M games. the rating system is bullshit most of the time and if kid's parents buy them the game well thats their decison be it good or bad for the kid. What I dont like is where a kid will buy the game with one parent and then i get a call from the other saying how could i sell the game to the kid. Im like shit lady if you know ur husband doesnt know anything about fuckin games then how come u didnt come with the kid instead, captain dumbass.
3. Whoa, whoa, whoa. This kinda shit pisses me off. Ignorant fuckers who somehow think this shit is a total legit argument. My parents have been in the US for over twenty years and they still dont speak perfect english. Its just really fuckin hard to change when you've grown up in a totally different culture. Its what shaped what you are. And then to come into another country and be expected to magically transform into the perfect english speaking citizen is just total bullshit. Kids can learn different languages easily cause their minds are stil developing. Thats why you got these little kid translators, shit i used to do that. granted i do know that there are a few mexicans that are morons for not trying to learn english cause i do believe its will help them and others but most immigrants make an honest atempt to try. And language classes? You fuckin serious? Fuck you.

I don't expect anyone to magically transform into a perfect English linguist overnight. But if they've been living in this country for half a decade or more I don't think it's unreasonable to expect someone to be able to speak at least enough English to be able to carry on basic day-to-day activities such as an exchange of currency for goods. Yes, language classes if that's what it takes, fuck you very much. Being stubborn is not a viable excuse. If you don't care to expend the effort to be able to commicate with me, then I don't care to give a shit when you come into my store and shove a game at me while making angry gestures and angry noises for something that isn't my fault because you can't understand me when I explain our return policy or whatever the hell policy it is.
Since this has obviously hit far too close to home with you I've omitted number three, and number two as well. I don't care to argue further with someone I don't know or care about, so let that be the end of it.
So...how about a big group hug that spans the English and Mexican cultures?
I just need one of those inspirational songs to start playing that has a message about everyone coexisting in harmony...
whites, blacks, Asians, Mexicans, Native Americans, people from the Middle East, EVERYWHERE!
Oh, and lets not forget, this should help to bridge the gap between all GameStop and EB employees too!
Anyway, is anyone getting together this Friday or Saturday night?

I can understand you point of view for the most part i do agree with it. if you come to the US even i expect people to learn english but you cant be pissed cause honestly you dont really know how long they have been here. And having a kid who can speak english isnt an indicator of that, i learned english in less than one year when i was 4. I could discuss more points but whatever I doubt you'll even understand where im coming from and i respect you for taking that shit off. So this is the end of it.

Finally the uppercut-impaired one has come back to SRK
Hey guys. I finally got my fucking puter running again. Actually it was a few days ago, but I decided to wait until I has some good news to report.
As most of you probably know, my computer is older than wolverine, and it just decided that it didn't want to work. Luckily Clayton helped me out with that. Speaking of Clayton, he has hooked my up as of today. Not as well as in the future, but there has definitely been a change in the scene round here :wow: the vets know what I mean.
I can't wait till the next party. Speaking of which, Renee and I are as of this week FINALLY on the same shift. Which means that I can finally try to plan summin.
Now is Andy leaving in December? I read some of the stuff that I missed, but not all. If he is still leaving then I will make summin hapen before then(though I will pay with my nuts  ). If not then Renee has suggested(WTF.....go figure) that I have a party during my Xmas shutdown this year which is..........Dec 22nd through the 2nd. Unfortunately upon looking, that only leaves the weekend of New Years Eve(Saturday). So either the Friday before, or I'll try to swing summin before then. She has voluntered to cater this party for me(sort of a Xmas present). So you guys would all(ALL) get dinner along with the usual pop, spirits, and prizes that I give out. I'll be checking this thread now that my reactor is working again.
Now to CFE. Mike, myself and a few friends have had some time to play this and I think that it is good. Not TS good by any means, but good as in the sequel will be way better good(think CVS vs CVS2 and you will get my drift). The characters could have been better selected to make the main stream players more happy. But you know what....Fuck the main stream player, go play your Sagat and Blanka RC shit some where else(man I can't wait till I hear the babys start whining). I like this game.
Yeah Gief is very hard to win with(hmmmm...what the fuck else is new  ) but as had been reported, you better stay out of his range. The TS guys do initially seem to be the dominant characters, but that will change in time once everyone starts to learn everyone. I like the change of pace in character selection and game style. So far I am diggin Gief, Leo(yeah alot like Gief, not sure bout the increased range, but I'll experiment tomorrow, Mike C is coming over), Urien, and Hauzer :wow: . I look forward to a few games with you guys soon.
Carlos: Alright beeeatch. I am now calling you out punk. After I smash your Smalex with Hugo, I want your ass at CFE. Gief vs. Alex. No changing characters, just pick the same ones everytime.
OK I have to try to send this post, get pissed, type it again and then go back and edit it. So I still got a good hour ahead of me so till next time team. Peace.

Well you know I'll be there, but it may take me awhile. I'm debating on whether or not I wanna work a 12 hour shift Friday. Does anybody know if Tekken arrived yet?
No matter what the outcome, I think some CFJ time is in order as well. Does everyone have this game yet?
Abe: You know I'm curious as to what you've got going on. I really should stop by sometime and take a look (like I used to in the old days...before I had a job). Perhaps I will sometime.

Andy: Sorry man, I had to work all weekend. But to try to make things a little better I have an offer for everyone.....
Crew: I have been racking my brains and the only free time that I can come up with for a SF party during these busy holidays is Dec 18th. The Saturday one week before Xmas. I changed around my holiday a little to make some room for my Xmas party, complete with ??? tourney, cool prizes, and 360's for everyone :wow: How does that sound to all you guys? Other than that it will be awhile, cause after that, Mike B. and I are gonna get going on my garage to try and transform it into the new Fort SF Fight Klub  I already talked to both Mike's that I work with and they are down. Abe - You know I'll be there. As a matter of fact, I'll take this time out to say that I'll own EVERYONE at EVERYTHING! Yeah that's right...I said EVERYTHING! Well...as long as it's not a tournament. Lord knows I suck in those. But me and my Head Bussa Crew is comin for blood! By the way...I have a offer for you in my pm...trust me...it's not what you think.
As far as Tekken 5...well...it looks pretty
Actually to be honest, I haven't had enough time to decide if this game is any good or not. So far it's better than Tekken 4...but it's still Tekken to me. Perhaps you should listen to other people instead of me. They'll give you a better more open opinion on the game.
EDIT: Andy man I left a PM for you too.
What the heck is your Head Bussa Crew? I don't trust you but honestly I'm not concerned. When Abe has a party I step up my game and I become too good to be concerned with anyone planning some dominating uprising or whatever.
Tekken 5...
Dave's right, it's Tekken. However, I think this one takes a step in the direction of Virtua Fighter and overall gives improvement to the game.
The game is too early in it's life for us to totally fall in love with (unless you're already a faithful fan to the series), nor can it be totally dismissed at this stage (I suppose unless you're totally anti-Tekken, which maybe Dave is but I'm not sure).
For me I have fun playing the new character Feng Wei, aka Feng Weezy as I referenced earlier in my state of gansta-ness. :karate:

Alright on top of my ??? tourney I am thinking bout having a CFE tag team also(obivousley the ??? tourney is not CFE, bet you thought it was). If not then my partner any myself will just destroy everyone just cause we can beeeeaaatcches.
Of course I also have a few suprises up my sleeve for this party :wow: Not as major as before(pretty hard to top myself anymore) but still cool, you guys will love it
Ray nice to see you are coming. Your Ibuki is Hugo's slut on the 18th.
If Ray doesn't mind me picking him up as a partner, I think our Red Earth team of Kenji and Hydron would easily dispatch of all oncomers, no matter if they are JWO, HBC or even fellow BWO'ites.
Or if Ray has someone else in mind then I'm sure Andy and I would make a kick ass Super Turbo team of Guile and Bison.

I still think that CFE is not a serious fighting game reminds me of pocket fighters, as far as T5 I'm going to wait a little bit and see if everybody still play the game after a month or there is always the home version soon.
Thats right ray taEkwondo
JT change the settings for T5 its now 3 rounds on ultra hard, let c there is very easy, easy, normal(default settings) hard and ultra hard. Milan requested the new settings
Milan should be at Putt-putt, his been going there everyday. I’ll be there at 10

Brent: Could you see if MK will let you copy your save to a memory card. Alot of games will not. If not then I will try to get as many possible characters out on MK before then.
Carlos: Are you guys selling alot of DS's?
Tekken 5 news...Mitch (aka Brahma) is expected to come down this Saturday the 4th and play with us. Let's all hold our collective breaths cuz I haven't seen that guy in forever and Feng Weezy's been asking around about him and his silly Jack models. :badboy:
Why did Milan request the settings be put at ultra hard? Whatever. :lame:
Going to 3 rounds was definately the right move, though, since it's the tournament standard and I think most places just put it on 3 anyway. At least he got half of it right.
Gary, I might have to agree with you on CFE. In fact I regard it as being a lot like Zangief players...it's kind of neat but not something that should be considered serious tournament material, it's more of a sideshow freak...I mean attraction. OOOOH, what have the pink panty wearing Zangief player(s) to say of that? :wow:

It's too bad I will miss Mitch. Unless I am super-productive writing my paper tomorrow, I just won't be able to come out. I would work on it tonight, but I just don't feel like it. :xeye:
Mitch is probably coming from like 3-9pm, he just told me on the phone. I told him that some of you guys might not make it until a little later so hopefully he'll try to extend that to 10pm or something.
Anyway, everyone hurry out if you can come earlier and play with Mitch, myself, and whoever. Gary, Milan, Ray...I know you guys would have fun so come out earlier if you can.
Dave, hurry out after work or something.
Abe, come play some Tekken with some nice Indiana competition if you are free from work.
Jeff, I guess I don't get why Saturday has to be the day you do your paper as opposed to Friday or Sunday, but whatever. Come out for a little if you get the chance and face off with Brahma in a Jack 5 vs. Jack 5 matchup.
I hope I'm not forgetting anyone (anyone who has any interest in Tekken, that is) but anyone is invited to come hang out. Or if anyone (Andy, Carlos) would rather wait until afterwards and play Capcom stuff then call Dave or Gary, or come meet up with us at the arcade. :karate:

I guess I'll just see everyone (including the stupid HBC) Saturday night. I agreed to work a little overtime Saturday morning so that rules out any chances of me visiting Friday night. Oh well.
After talking with Khalid he says MC can't come unless a miracle occurs. I talked with Moses who says he cannot attend but Fugi is a possibility. I have even less clue if Tim is coming. Oh well, at least there will be team Sharper Image Scum (Dave and 2 cohorts) to beat down in the MvC2 team challenge. Heh, that's still a dream of mine, to have a team challenge where 3 people get 1 fighter each, but tagging in and out would cause a problem for sure. :karate:
Abe - I think I'm gonna resort to a team with Amingo and Gambit, along with a 3rd person who has an AAA (probably Blackheart, Captain Commando, or Iron Man) so yeah, get Zangief ready and whoever else you got in mind.
Dave - Tell him he's right, Magneto does suck. I've proven that time and again. Amingo handles him well, so ask him what he things of Amingo. Nevermind, I'll do my own work. I can't trust a non-fan to do my biddings and desires.

1) turn left out of the parking lot onto Speedway
2) turn left at the first light onto Coliseum
3) after about 10 minutes of driving (depending on traffic) turn
left onto State (Walgreens pharmacy and Mike's carwash are a couple businesses you'll find at the corner)
4) after a few lights turn right onto Maplecrest (Hardee's and a gas station are at that corner)
5) drive until it ends in a 'T' and turn left onto Lake
6) drive until you come to red blinking lights and turn right onto ???
7) turn left at the first light you come to, onto ???
8) take the first left you can, onto Rufus
9) Abe's house is the 3rd or 4th house on the left side of the road (look for lots of cars around it including a white pickup truck with ICP logos on it)

Ok here's a few things.
David owns me for free.
Brent owns me for free.
I have given up Zangief and taken up Ryu.
And Eminem is my new icon that I look up to.
MEL (Much Eminem Love)
Abe, man, you need to log out of SRK before you have another party. :bgrin:
And, whoever did this, come on. This is an old tactic. :lame:

Wassup crew
Just want to say thanks to everyone for showing up for once again another kick ass time. There were no OOT's this time, but still a blast.
Yeah Jeff you are certaintly right, and I meant to log out
But I think I may know why all the hate. ??? Xmas theme tourney results are
Street Fighter Zero 3 Upper
1st: WKDCLWN (T. Hawk :wow: , Gief :badboy: )
2nd: Andy (Blanka, I think I also saw a shoto)
3rd: Vega (Sakura, Chun-Li, Sagat)
I think Andy and Brent may have been inspired by Sagat and Ryu on the computer desk :wow: Shoul have know the BWO would take that personally  Jeff it's to bad you couldn't make it. My back is getting sore from having to destroy the whole BWO every party by myself.
Man it was sweet to actually see some KI action going on also.
I know everyone who got here in time.......got to taste some of Renee's Xmas cookies. Hope you got some.
I hope everyone liked my most recent upgrades to the collection(We even had some GGXX going on). I have more planned for the future, Brent already knows one, and can't wait to show em off.
Dave: What is up with you and your girl friend(don't even try to blame your T. Hawk destruction on her)? The crew needs to know.
Brent: Thanks you very much for the characters and costumes for MK and DOA. You have saved me a ton of time.
And no I have not pilfered Putt-putt for their long lost fighting games. They could still compete with Rufus street if JT really wanted to.
Peace
I would like to start out by saying that, honestly, I was not the one who posted under Abe's account this time. I suppose that now makes it pretty obvious who did, but oh well. Also I would like to thank Jeff for quoting that post in his reply, thus allowing that prank post to live on even after Abe deleted it.
Let's see, what's next...oh yeah, my prize streak continues. Since the incarnation of Abe's tournaments where he gives prizes I have always managed to scratch and claw my way into the 'prize zone' so to speak, even on games like SFZ3U where I probably have no business beating anyone. Hehe. And for the record I used 'em all baby, I used 'em all. Vega/Sakura/Chun-Li/Guile/Sagat. All in Z-ism and all in the name of pure desperation just to win a prize. :karate:
We know Zangief is good in the Zero 3 series (we gotta make that distinction now that there is Z3 and Z3U), but is T. Hawk good too? We sure couldn't figure out a surefire way to stop him. Definately an improvement since his only other incarnation, that is, the worst character in Super Turbo.
Renee's sugar cookies were very good. I was impressed. I'm not a fan of sugar cookies but these were genuinely good. I'm not sure if she heard me when I tried to tell her so at the party, so Abe, if you could maybe make sure she gets the memo that I enjoyed 'em just as much as the next guy.
Out-of-towners and staters...missed ya.
If anyone has good solid contact with Thomas, man oh man, make sure you all tell him how much better he has gotten at 3rd Strike. What an improvement and who knows how much further he can take it.
Dave...dude we got a few things that we gotta get out in the air here and straighten up. Some mystery and some difference of opinions here. First off, what is up with you and this girl? I mean, what exactly is your relation with her? Is this truly your girlfriend now? I'm just curious, it's a mystery to me. And onto a difference of opinion...ok seriously...joining this organized group of yours by 'free will' and wanting to 'represent Fort Wayne' and be more cohesive? I mean, seriously?!?!?! Haha, that is funny. Who would do that?! Do you think Andy, Carlos, Mike Conway, and the billions...AND BILLIONS of my BWO fans would still be sticking around if I didn't slam down the iron fist and force them to? No of course not, duh! So get with the picture. I've been telling you to start your own clique but this wasn't what I had in mind. You can do so much better for yourself. Think about it.
Okay folks have a nice night now tood-a-loo suck it BWO is the real deal for life yo BYE BYE!
--- edit ---
I almost forgot, there was actually a CvS2 money series at the party last night. Go figure. I'm sure Danny from KY would have been proud of this. Anyway, it was Dave vs. Gary, best of 5, with $5 on the line (or was it $10, nah I think it was $5). Gary headed into the series already owing Dave a little money for whatever reason...and left a little bit more broke than when he started. Time to pay the debt Gary, your gig is up. Roll cancels and all you got smoked 3-1 by the masta of (poor) execution. Sorry folks, I just call it like I see it, candid as can be.

Shoot Brent how could I forget that you lost first with Vega :badboy: My bad buddy.
Let Andy know that I will play him for for the extra stick that I have here. Of course there is no guarantee that this is a 360 stick. Tell ya what, tell him I'l play a 2 out of 3 in CFE for it. Course you know how the the fort wayne boys hate my grapplers :badboy:
For anyone neding to get ahold of me my number is 2607492227. Fel free to call me at reasonable times.
Andy and Carlos I have from the 22nd till the 3rd off. How bout we get a small get together between then. Maybe Andy will earn his stick(oops....my stick) back then. I can probably get a few friends together for that. Just let me know.\
And for the record Brent and everyone else and Brent, Mike C DUMPED......I repeat DUMPED the BWO a long time ago. He is a free agent as of then and still now. So as a welcome word to the current BWO brainwashed cronies, come over to the good side, you always have a place here(you may even get your stick back :xeye: ). Just consider an offer from the current champ of the ??? tourney.
I am just glad that T Hawk is finally represented. Honestly I think that he finally got the priority that he needed to compete with the big boys.
Edit: OK on the edit, how bout anyone getting together on this Tuesday for some head banging? Renee will be a work, Big Mike will be here. come get some punks!
Tuesday? I so would for sure, but I know that I'd be sooooo tired Wednesday at work. I get Thursday and Friday off, but not Wednesday and I have to be there from 7am-4pm. :( But honestly my parents are gone this week on vacation and I'm gonna be super bored so I might come anyway. What time are y'all gathering? I'll let you know either way as soon as I make up my mind on this. :pleased:
Dave - I meant to mention this before but I noticed you were in rare form and kicking butt at the party. Do you have new-found confidence and dedication? I'm just curious. Nice job.
James - What's up man? You have this habit of coming in from nowhere, posting once (maybe twice if lucky) and then disappearing until whatever random time you decide to come back. What happened regarding the party? Were you going to be too busy on Sunday, I take it? And where's these pictures you agreed to share? Darn it, don't make me go evil on folks. :badboy:

Ok first things first.
Abe - Thanks for the party again. It was nice and cool as usual...even if I did fall asleep (oops).
Renee - Even though you don't read this nice talking to you as usual. The cookies were hot fire so I blame you for the 92385729034 pounds I gained that night.
Brent - Brent, Brent, Brent. Ok lets clear the "air" so that you'll sleep better at night.
1. That was sorta my "girlfriend". It is not official due to "circumstances" that I'm not at liberty to say right now.
2. As far as your rejection to the HBC...well that is most unfortunate. As you will see below...that might be a decision you might want to reconsider in the near future.
3. I really wasn't doing much...just playin street fighter pretty much. I was kinda tired though so I didn't get to do much playing...but I was pleased with the result nonetheless. Whcih brings me to...
Gary - Now you owe me 10 dollars...sad sad sad. And don't think I don't want it either...a brotha is broke these days...he could use the extra cash coming towards Xmas. Pay up fool!
Now...for everybody.
If you weren't at the party you missed the announcement of the beginning of the Head Bussa Crew. Now to clear up the misconception that most of you are probably having, this is not an organization like the BWO. In fact it's nothing of the sort. It is simply a group that I wanted to create for the Fort Wayne Crew in general so that when we represent anywhere we go (whether that's Abe's or evolution), we have a name to go by. People complain that we don't have a solid fighting game scene here in Indiana, and I think this is partly why. If we had a group that is simply responsible for representing the Fort, I think we could grab some more notice from other people around the state and even in state. Now, here is the roster for the Head Bussa Crew so far.
Myself
Gary
Ray
Thomas
Milan
Abe (Temporary pass*)
Mike (Temporary pass*)
*temporary pass given on the basis of no group affiliation and dedication Abe and Mike have given to the Fort Wayne scene.
Unsurprisingly, the only ones who I asked that decided not to join this group, were the famous BWO nuthuggers Andy, Carlos, and of course their ringleader Brent. Since this group has no leader (yes that's right, I am not the leader...just the founder) and works on the concept of teamwork, I am not trying to start a war with the BWO in any way. As you can see, long time BWO member Ray decided to join and not cut his ties with the BWO (or will he...hmmm...stay tuned). However, I will not allow the BWO to interfere with the goodness of the HBC. Flat out...if you don't work with us, you're against us. And that goes for the BWO, any out of state members and anybody that has the nerve to diss the HBC. Currently I'm working towards an idea that will allow us all to have custom T-Shirts with your likeness included on the shirt. Think of it as an avatar that you can represent anywhere. It's a good one so I think anybody that wants to represent the Fort Wayne area, should get involved. That being said...there's a couple people I need to ask right now.
Jeff - So what's up. You weren't at the party so I didn't get to ask. Are you down with representing Fort Wayne? Might I remind you that this is not a group like the BWO, but in fact a group that will improve the unity of Fort Wayne, not divide it. Let me know man.
Abe, Mike - I figured you guys would be down, but I thought I should make sure before I make it official. You can let me know Tuesday, although I won't be rolling through until after 10 or so. By the way Mike, if you get the chance ask your crew too (JD and Jason).
Now that I've made my statement, I suppose I'm done. Andy, Carlos, Brent. You can join at any time...just let me know.

Dave: Hell ya, I'm down!
Brent: Give up this selfish, elitist BWO head trip and join the Crew. This isn't ABA or anything like that. This isn't the arch-nemesis for BWO. This is about Indiana and Fort Wayne area pride. Come on and hang with us!
Andy and Carlos: You aren't giving up anything by joining. You are in fact gaining a whole lot in terms of Fort Wayne and Indiana unity. So let's see what you got for the sake of your 'hood!

Oh, yeah.
Abe: I hope you don't mind having me over tomorrow. I figure I have to put in some catch-up time. :karate: I can't stay super-late though.
To me this is exactly what Dave claims it not to be, and that is something made to rival the BWO in hopes of eventually conquering it.
That being said, I'll put your word to the test Dave and I'll tag along with Fort Wayne's HBC...but only on 2 conditions which go a little something like this ----->
1) let it be known that I still run this little little posse we like to call the fearful, almight BWO
2) Dave, I want an even trade and since I'm joing your founding group I want you to show equal support amongst our Fort Wayne community (this is what it's all about, right?) and join my founding group
Do we have a deal? :looney:
Oh and btw fellow HBC'ers, I appologize but as expected I will not be attending Abe's get-together tomorrow night, and thus I won't be able to pick up my shirt with the cool little picture on it that is my custom likeness. But alas I know we'll meet up soon enough, probably next weekend (since this one is Christmas, duh) and we'll be as united and cohesive as ever. I'm so happy for all of us and Fort Wayne. LONG LIVE FORT WAYNE! Hip hip...horray!

Wassup crew ARJ reporting in.
Dave your "kinda" girlfriend seemed like a sweet person. Tell her she is welcome anytime I have a shindig. I gots no problem being affliated with the HBC. I don't know how much I will be able to represent beyond my normal parties, though I imagine I can squeeze in and out of state tourney once in awhile :wow: Besides it is always good PR for our parties here when I show up at other SF happenings. I'm not real keen on the name(HBC), but I suppose no one will agree to call it the JWO :xeye:
Let's say about 8:30 tomorrow night. I have a few last minute Xmas stuff to take care of(for Renee) but I should be home by 8:30. Cool? I know this is very short notice, but this is my last night alone before I get time off for Xmas.
I have to second Brent. Dave you were really on point Saturday(cept of course when T. Hawk was involved :badboy: ) I hope you see your money, course there is always double or nuttin again
For anyone who couldn't make it Saturday. My newest additions to the AbeCade are Guilty Gear XX, TTT, SFZ3U, and CVS2. Also I can't forget the love birds sitting(well one on his knees) on the computer desk. We have gotten prety much all the bases covered here.
See y'all tomorrow. Peace :karate:

jesus since everybody is mentioning me and andy in posts about the whole hbc thing i guess ill say somthing about it. I thought everybody was already a crew, sure seemed like it to me, i thought we are the ft wayne guys. I dont see the need to come up with the HBC since we all already are the ft wayne crew. what im seeing is by doin this is that we are making a bigger distinction between people that we dont even need. Just makin this riff that doesnt need to exist. So what that a couple of us are BWO. We're not at all to be takin seriously, Brent even says that. And in no way do me or Andy even think that we should be. No one should ask hey you wanna be with the crew that'll represent ft wayne. that question doesnt need to be asked cause I thought it was already answered. We're ft wayne. Nuff said.
Abe - Agreed, 100%, the HBC name is not exactly enticing to me either.
Carlos - Thank you, summed up perfectly. Everyone knows who we are when we go to Ohio or Michigan. Chicago knows who we are. We've met several people in KY and TN now and they surely know who we are.
Dave - The fact is, about 90% of the time when someone opens up with a disclaimer of some sort (this isn't meant to be offensive...not to call you a liar...this is not meant to function as an opposing group to the BWO) then that's exactly what it is, and I see things no differently here. And like Carlos said, we already do a great job of repping Fort Wayne together. We cheer each other on when we visit for tournies (shit, I probably pay more attention to Milan in Tekken Tag than you or anyone else) so I guess I'm not sure where the division is. Granted Andy, Carlos, and I have fun with the whole BWO thing whenever we have local gatherings, but we've stated time and again that we're just having fun and I'm not some real dictator or nothing. I talk and hang with you more than I do with anyone else, BWO or not.
I guess I have to break the rules and give my own disclaimer to everyone...try not to take the BWO THAT seriously that it upsets you.
But whatever. Like the name or not I said I'd join your silly group.
Everyone have fun tonight! :karate:
To everyone at Abe's last night, it was fun as always.
Oro gave bitches the Ryu treatment, if ya know what I mean. :badboy:
I appologize for taking the cheap way out to borrow those movies, Abe. Choosing Fei Long was obviously something that should not have been allowed and anyone who does so certainly has no conscience.
Uh let's see what else...oh yeah, Abe got sha sha sha'd. Speaking of which, Dave, I'm really sorry you have to put up with that at work now. I feel responsible (because I am in a way) so perhaps I'll have to make a personal visit sometime to the store to appologize to everyone and fully explain it to those who just don't get it. It's either that or give a demonstration to all the employees AND customers in the store, kinda like you did that one time with Robosapien. I really don't think you want me to have to give the demonstration in the store but you know I will if forced to. :karate:
I have no clue if I'm going anywhere or doing anything this weekend. I guess it's not like much will be open anyway. This kinda sucks. Oh well, take it easy gang.
--- edit ---
Abe - I think everyone was impressed with how much Thomas has improved at 3S, and I am also impressed with how much you have improved because of your parry practice. It'll take some getting used to but it's already paying immediate dividends. Keep up the good work.

Basically, Beth wanted to get some people out, and I thought I'd ask around and see who wanted to come get some food. Brent I was told specifically to ask you for a variety of reasons. One being the fact that she thought you were "fun". Secondly...well you'll have to see the private message for that.

Thanks for the invite. Obviously you know I'm not coming from our phone conversation, but I do want to hear how things went (I want to hear from you more than from the others).

Kyle: So long as it is just the older folks(you, Amanda, Patrick and Miranda) then I have no problem with you guys hanging out with us. But all the brats included makes it quite a bit of a headache that Renee and I can't take on this week. I may even be able to arrange a few people to show up here if you guys are gonna show. Just don't tell the little one's bout it, I will pick them up at a later date to come down for the weekend.
Brent: I'll let ya know when we will be around. We'll try to hook up when maybe the BWO founder is here :xeye: And just cause your cheap ass Fei Long got lucky don't think that I won't hesitate to destroy you at SFA3U :badboy: Did ya like the movies?
Andy & Shane: Thanks for the games the other night. I think that you prety much re-affirmed why MVC2 sucks. But, I challenge you next time on the porch punk. I want you arcade style.

2) I liked them. The Kill Bill series was certainly interesting and entertaining.

last night we all went out and got some pain done up at the tatto place in edwardsburg. Pat got his lip pierced, amanda got a faire on her shoulder and i got a nintendo cotroller on my right wrist. we're all fuckin stoked to show you guys. amanda is also pretty excited to test her chun-li skills on the true jacko power at its finest. she had a lil spat with steve on christmas, and even beat him a few times. i was damn proud of her. but, now i think she might give you at least a challenge. i got her all beafed up with a chun-li conrtoller and a new shirt. hehe, shes my prodigy.
oh yea, and pat says that his hugo is going to make your hugo look like old school gief. whatever that means.
so yea, we cant wait man, and yea have some people over, that sounds awesome. we got some drink and some, cough cough, as well.
alright, so peace and we shall see you on thursday.

My current plans are to go to a party held by the singles group tonight. If any of you are interested in that, let me know.
Anybody have any other ideas?
Well let's see, the BWO owned every game again last night. It's really no surprise anymore. I mean I honestly should think of dropping this whole BWO gig. You guys are right. It's totally become too boring and predictable. We come in, numbers strong, and totally dismantle everyone at all the games, and you guys cry and whine. Depressing.
But alas, my new year's resolution for now is to make the BWO bigger and stronger in 2005, with an increase in the number of lady memberships again like we once had before.
Abe - It's a Brent mandate that Renee makes cookies each time I'm around. :pleased: Also thanks for the Eagle combo.
Kyle - Good job at 3S. Way to bail out of the Remy matchup, btw. :badboy:
Patrick - You were a victim of another sha sha sha, which has become a big deal around these parts. Thanks and please come back for more in the near future!
Andy - Guile is too good. Urien was too good. Kids gotta learn to stop messing with true warriors and stick to games they can actually hang in, like maybe Dragon Ball Z or something. Smash Bros.? Shit, I don't know!

Once again the BWO has things all warped in their little minds :xeye: Brent I think that your new years resolution should be to get the entire BWO some hooked on Phonics so they can start working their warped little minds and then will maybe start remembering how things actually go round here
Course now that I think about it, one or one hundred to many 360 slams from the Indian dominator in Alpha 3 may be why you guys can't seem to remember anything lately :wow: Or maybe it was the SPD.......or maybe the Meagaton Drop.....damn .....so hard to tell.
I saw Carlos and he said that that Aquatic Steve movie(whatever the heck it is called) was really good. Have you seen it yet?
Can't wait to hear Chrono whine when you slam him for 8000+ from Eagle. When you do, tell him I said HI :badboy:

Haha, I wish I could do that online. There is no way I'll be doing that combo on those silly S pads. I'd need a stick for that.
Speaking of slamming people, why don't you bring the ladies out to Putt-Putt tonight to get slammed around by me and Dave (and probably Milan and Gary) at Tekken 5. Ok I'm sorry, I meant Michigan cowards, not ladies. Sorry again, I mean kids, not cowards. But yeah, we'll all be there tonight (at least Dave and I for sure, probably Jeff too) so come check out Tekken 5.

Oops I forgot that you play online with a pad  Do you actually play Abe-groove online? I tried a few times and it was pretty friggin hard. Kyle and crew actually left here about noon today. Sorry you'll just have to keep dominating Milan instead :badboy:
Man I just ordered too much SF stuff online. Now I have to get back to work to hit the Overtime again
Did everyone vote for the next wave of SF figures? Gief and Hugo must represent :karate:
I didn't vote. I won't buy any of those figures anyway so it didn't bother me.
I've played A groove a few times online. I played it Saturday night with the gang at Jeff's place and did well with it I thought. I was able to nail the Eagle combo twice and my main reason for any miscues that night was simply picking the wrong time to break stock. I messed some of the combos up after starting them but for the most part I could recover and end up safe while getting some chip damage out of the deal.
Hitting the overtime hard this week too, I must admit. I got a lot of things I want to save up for, so it's going to take me a long time for this to all come to fruition. And would you believe none of this is video game stuff? I will likely be missing several Friday night gatherings. Hopefully ya'll will still play with me on Saturdays if you're free. :wonder:

Finally Venger has come back... to this thread. :P
Been awhile since I stirred things up in here. Kinda boring now, but that's not why I'm posting. lol
I'm posting to ask for some opinions, help, whatever as long as it's constructive. I'm going to Lanwar in two weeks. It's a big lan party in Kentucky for those who haven't heard of it. Anyway in addition to PC games this time they're having DDR, cards, console games, etc. tournies as well as PC stuff. Since most of the PC stuff is really not to my liking I figured I'd jump in on a couple of thier fighting game tournies for shits and giggles. Rep da Fort and all that. ;) I'll be playing SC2 with Voldo and Astaroth and probably MvC2. Yeah, yeah I know save it. lol What I'm asking for is some ideas on teams, strategies, etc. that will help me rep us right in MvC2. Team Weight Limit will be in full effect, but I may need something to pull out when the beam shit gets too thick for the big guys. So if you can tell me what you know about the most common traps and how to get out of them and whatever else you think might get Fort Wayne a win it'd be appreciated.

Joe - Hmmm...well as far as Marvel is concerned, your best bet is to watch out for Cable. He shoots everybody on that team without even having to think. The rest of the cast can be delt with it you glitch Juggernaut and punish assists. Perhaps a good idea would be to have Juggernaut, Hulk, Doom. You can glitch Juggernaut (or not really...I don't suppose it matters too too much) and when a poor assist gets called (like Psylocke on a Magneto team or something), call Doom, and Headcrush immediately. What will happen (if you're lucky) will be that the assist will get creamed. The opponent will most likely block, but the rocks will cover you from too much damage from the point man after the headcrush. Do that a few times, and there's no assist to worry about anymore. Of course runaway storm will probably annoy you too. You could use Blackheart or Commando to deal with that instead of doom if that gets too annoying. If you end up facing cable...well I can't help you since I can't even fight cable that well (or any other team for that matter). Maybe someone else may have something to contribute.
Now...the real reason I was posting.
Brent informed me of this thing called Ohiocon. It's a huge anime, cosplay, dorkfest. Normally I wouldn't care about such nonsense. However, there are going to be actual console fighting tournaments here as well. Brent can post the link to the tournament when he gets a chance. Once he does, the members of the HBC (+ Andy and Carlos even though they think my idea of a group is stupid for reasons I still don't quite understand) need to come to a group decision as to whether or not we should go. The only problem is that it's short notice. It's next weekend. That means we need to decide quickly. This of course has to do with my new year resolution (I said more interaction in the tournament scene...and I meant it) so if we can go, we'll go. Let me know guys.
...oh...and I hate Powerstone.

Brent: Are you going to post that link?
How's everyone been???
Haha, so much pressure to post that link!
Tim, are you thinking of going?
http://www.ohayocon.com (click on the "events" link and go all the way down on the next page)
Joe - Like Dave said, Blackheart or Commando (Blackheart is the better choice overall) is probably your best bet to help against the runaway Storms and whoever else can run.
I guess you could always go with Iceman against beamers, but maybe he's not your style.
Finally, as far as traps go, the only ones I ever sat down to learn were Spiral/Sentinal (or Spiral/Storm works the same way) and also Strider/Doom. Not only do Spiral and Strider make nice point characters for their respective traps, but they are quite mobile, especially Spiral, because of the variety in teleports they both have, but Spiral has way more teleporting options than Strider does.
Ray - You were indeed the master of Power Stone 2. Maybe I should take that advice above and play Gunroc if we all play the game again. The team matches were lots of fun. Power Stone 2 and JoJo's were both great diversions from the usuals we practice, don't you agree? Now if only you and I could convince these fools to start putting Dead Or Alive 2 LE into the equation, oh what a beautiful day that would be. :pleased:

hey guys, we got a possible tourney in c-bus at Ohio State University (OSU) on january 22nd. that's in 2 weeks, which is short notice, but hopefully ya'll can make it. we'd have cvs2 (WITH A $25 OR MORE POT BONUS FROM ME), mvc2, 3S, CFJ, and ggxx #r. the entry fee for the majority of those games would be $10. post SOON and tell me how many of you guys could come. if it's not enough, we won't have it. but otherwise, get ready to throw down in 2 weeks.

I hate taking a ton of time to type out a message just as I want it and right before I finish up...BOOM...something happens and I somehow lose it all.
That being said here is the most short version (believe it or not this is shorter than what I was previously typing out) I can possibly give of everything I had so elequently typed out over the past 10 minutes or so before "accidental misplacement" of my post. That's what I'll call it.
Here goes...
Danny - I'll get in touch with Dave regarding the Columbus tourney. I can't make any decisions on that right this second anyway. About Ohayocon, I wrote an email to the address given because I had questions about possible entry fees, prizes, dates, and times. However a message got kicked back to me saying that email address is no good, so I'm real clueless, overall, about this whole thing.
Dave - As you can see from my AOL messages I got something big and real good to discuss with you. This is all real good stuff IMO and I proudly put my name on it and take pride in my idea. I promise this contains none of my usual sarcasm and prankage. This is like the 1% of the time when I settle down, sit down, and really put my mind to work and good use to come up with something, like if it's something I truly care about personally. I'm actually a smart guy, whether I ever act it or not in public. So when I surely see you in person this weekend we'll take some good time to go over this together. Although it'll probably be difficult, I'd like to go over it with you first before ANYONE else lays eyes or ears on this. My preference, my prerogative, and I hope we can make it happen.
Fort Wayne playaz - Hehe, now for the rest of you, don't worry, you'll soon get your collective grubby little mits on this plan of mine, but not until after I completely run it by Dave first. You'll just have to respect that wish of mine, sorry. But I'm sure you'll all find the idea interesting (although surely far-fetched) and it's worth a shot in my eyes. I'm sure you'll all find it worth a shot too, seeing how you all acted so positively towards Dave's HBC idea not long ago.
Finally, still talking to tha F-Dubstaz, I hope to be with you all as usual for another weekend, but I can't say which night it'll be. As I recently said in another post, I need to save up cash for other stuff (non video game relative stuff, I swear) so I'm trying to get a bunch of overtime at work. This will go on for a long time to come, from what I can see. My point is, I was expecting to be offered overtime this Saturday. They have yet to do that for some reason. If they don't ask me on Friday, then I guess I'll be around to hang out and stuff like normal. But if they do offer, then I'll take them up on that offer and I'll wait until Saturday to crash your puny city. :amazed: :looney: :smokin: Either way, I'll post again to let everyone know...as soon as I know. :china:
Ok, time for  so bye.

Andy Andy Andy. You see I don't think you understand. The HBC is not an organization to combat the BWO. In fact it is simply just an attempt to organize Indiana gaming. That's all. My friend, you should join.
On to other news...Brent ran this by me the other day, and I thought I'd run it by you guys and see what you think.
The idea is to have a tournament that is only for Indiana players. This way we can start to build unity and more cohesiveness within the state. Now I know what you're all thinking...
How will this work? We have no players!
I agree with this. That is why we are trying to take precautions to ensure that this is successful. With Brent's help, and of course by anyone else that wants to, we want to plan on making this a FREE tournament. Now of course free is great and all, but you have to add incentive for people to come. As of right now Brent and I are planning on giving out cash (and possibly more) for each game. Of course the bigger the cash prize, the better the tournament could be. And we will try to hype this up as much as possible around town.
of course the possible games would be the expected.
CvS2
MvC2
SF3
T5
and whatever else comes to mind as a group. As the HBC, I think this is the first good way to make a good impression on the rest of the state. Perhaps if this is successful, the next TOC (yes I'm having another one, don't ask when) could feature a state vs state tournament, where Chicago, Ohio, Michigan, and yes...even Indiana can pit the best against each other. But we need to build support within the state for this to happen.
Questions, comments, suggestions? Let me know on this forum. As of right now I'm thinking that the middle of March will be a good time for this as a lot of people will be on spring break.
So...let me know what you guys think.
Oh...and let it be known. This is not meant to divide sanctions (BWO, HBC, etc). For this reason this WILL be a HBC production, but this name along with any other name should not be mentioned during the planning stages of this tournament. Remember...I'm trying to bring us together.
popoblo
01-11-2005, 09:05 PM
so i can't come:sad:? i feel you guys already have a pretty unified group as is. you get together on a fairly regular basis at abe's house parties in the first place. i just don't see why you're alienating yourselves from other states for the sake of unity within your own state. the goal should be to get better, and that would best be achieved by letting chicago, OH, MI, and KY (me) come to the tourney also.
my $.02- peace

Andy - First off, congratulations on your accomplishment! You'll be fully living the America dream sooner than you know it.
Also way to deal with the traitor. That earns you another
Danny - You're real close on this issue but just missing one minor detail that I'll clear up at this time. It's not a big deal, but it's just one thing. So yes, it's true you aren't invited (nor is anyone else for that matter). And yes, we (Fort Wayne) agree with you that we've become a good, unified group. Here's the minor detail...this tournament I brainstormed isn't for the goal of uniting us even more, but rather it's about uniting as much of our state's gamers as we can. Every detail that Dave and I have brainstormed was with the purpose of Indiana gamers only. You and the rest of the world are invited to any other tournament held in Indiana (Dave's TOC series, for instance), but for this special event we want all IN gamers against IN gamers, not a measley 10 IN gamers vs 5 from MI, 2 from KY, 10 from OH, and 6 from IL. Doing things that way turns it into a special event all right...IN vs the Midwest. Haha. It's maybe 10 of us vs 23 of you all. Not what I'm aiming for. That can come any other time but just not this once. That's a "Midwest cohesiveness" tournament more than just Indy. Anyway I know you'll live. Missing just this one won't kill you.
Juan - Hey, watch is cuz I've finally gone back to my turtely Vega roots that I had moved away from over the past 2 years. I'm more dangerous than ever and I sadly use gAy groove now. But anyway, I won't stop after that. I'll move to P groove and show you finally who's the man around here. Haha. Shit, I'll use Raiden unless you fear that too much. But yeah, I know we'll hook up again. But this NWO vs. BWO things worries me cuz, well, I'm sort both I thought, remember?

Hey guys. Havent been to up to date lately. I have been working bout 70 hours a week lately(damn why does SF cost so much  ) Actually that is not why, but it sounded good :xeye:
Now when is this tourney Dave. I am pretty much done with competitive SF on a serious level, but I will be happy to participate in your tourney(for fun only) if I have the day off.
Course Gief on a slow day can stop most people on their best day :badboy:
ONe gripe though......what about some SFA3 love. I think this one is a mojor game in the SF lineage and should be included. Certaintly before CVS2 or MVC2. I think this in addition to the more recent stuff might attract a larger audience then just the more recent ADD inflicted games. I mean you want SF hardcore and newer right?
Oh yeah guys, I just recently met a couple of guys(three actually) who are interested in coming to the next party. which I have been thinking about alot lately. I ALMOST miss the competitive days, but anyways these guys are interested and they come over next time. I am shooting for 1 out of 3, though. Most rusty people have a hard time getting beat while they re-adjust.
alright enough rambling. I am gonna try to work summin out soon. I NEED MY FIX....... ........ :wow: .......
Jeff - Thanks for hosting us again and letting me have my DOA minute. Rocked the cpu with Tengu, didn't I? As far as Tekken goes, maybe you've found a character to play more often in Paul, or maybe not. What do you think of your performance with him?
Dave - I have my hands so full with Feng Wei and Wang that perhaps you can have Ganryu but don't think for even a minute that I won't bust him out on many occasions. Regarding your Tekken tournament plans, be sure to notify us here and notify the Indiana thread on Zaibatsu as soon as you make your decision.
Abe - Where did you find these gentlemen at? Either way, it's always exciting to make new additions to the local scene. Meanwhile, Dave and I will need to contact you very soon about some things regarding this Indiana tournament that was brought up recently.
---
Oh and regarding the tournament I have my own announcement to make about our Indiana tournament. I know this is OUR tournament (OUR meaning all of us, not just Dave or myself) but as the original brainchild of this I am officially adding some variant of the Street Fighter 2 series to the list of tournament games (meaning it will be either Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo or the Anniversary Edition).

The OHio tourney is too much money for me right now
SOrry, Dan.
The Indiana tourney sounds VERY interesting. I've talked with about four people now and all of them would prefer a tourney that's just INdiana over others from out of State coming. The main reason: they feel like they get slaughter in these games by those outside of the state. Some friendly local competition is a great idea.

And that is exactly one of the ideas I shared with Dave when I first presented this plan. For people like us, we know what we're getting into when we travel or bring others into Indiana, but for some they need to build up some confidence first, or maybe they prefer to always just keep everything in-state (which is perfectly fine).
When enough important details get figured out, we'll release it right here for everyone on this thread to see. :pleased:
