Yep, OSAP scammed me...about two weeks ago, I tried to file a claim that was for $3800 but I made a slight mistake on my application so it had to be reissued. Today, I pick up the reissued one and suddenly my OSAP loan is $2300...so yes, OSAP can indeed fucking suck my dick...

guess I shouldn't complain...at least my tuition is paid and they won't kick me the hell out... :tup: But I have let the appropriate parties know about the thing and I hope this gets worked out properly...I suppose I should just not tell them to suck my dick on the phone I guess...something not professional about that apparently... :karate:

The A3 board was just there for T5 on the Saturday and Sunday I think. Its not there anymore.

That's nice that you were able to beat me (even though I wanted to get rid of that team so I didn't put much effort through out the entire battle, an example being I walked up and threw you, like, 4 times in a friggin' row, plus tons of other things that blatantly showed that I didn't try at all...).
Doesn't matter either way, a lost is a lost...just don't get too proud and happy with that one win, but learn from the gazillion rounds that you lost to me and the other players on what you did wrong and when not do it again.
Oh yeah, and learn your characters' most basic bread and butter combos first!!!

Can't go wrong with Kyosuke. And for that matter, switch to S Groove. Kyosuke has an infinite in S Groove. Might as well forget Guile and Blanka and add King and, I don't know, Todo to round out your team better. :karate:

Actually, seriously, if you like charge characters so much go with Honda, like Rey suggested, or M. Bison. Bison may not have paint the fence in C, but he's still pretty good. Still, though it would balance your team out if you actually added someone who isn't a charge character...if you don't want Sagat, try Ken? Just don't steal my Chun... :badboy:

Yea, today at Mac was fun and frustrating at the same time.

The guys (the black and Asian dude) there have improved a lot since the last time I was there (w/ Rey and Jamie).
They actually block low this time when I played my Oro against them, haha.

These guys are also parry-fiend (they'd try to parry everything), witnessed that Asian dude parried Chun-Li's whole SA1 super, like, 20 hits or something, crazy!

I beasted with Urien (for some reason, even though I was messing around with him on every round), did well w/ Chun and Oro for a bit (but then my Oro didn't do too well later that evening), didn't do too well w/ my Ken against that Asian dude's Ken (well, I did okay, but lost many close matches, though...fucking best 2 out of 3 bullshit).

Didn't play Akuma, Ibuki or Hugo today.

They adapt to your gameplay style very quickly, props to them.

Today was a good time...

HIGHLIGHT OF THE DAY: Either taking 2nd or tying 1st (depends on your perspective)

LOW POINT OF THE DAY: Wasting money on SvC

LINE OF THE DAY: "Yeah that's what people want to see, a fat sweaty white guy dancing on DDR!" (Darko is the king)

So I show up around 12:30pm and Team Hammer has already arrived. I fucked around with Team Mobility and Team Little Girl until Team Revolution show up and we're good to go.

CAPCOM VS SNK 2

Vs Crazy Sagat (2nd Round): I think there were two first round matches because Vince and Aaron showed up late. Anyway this one was a wake up call. Ike comes out the gate and goes shot for shot against my tournament team and TAKES THE FIRST MATCH! OOOOHHHH SHIIIIIIT! I stand there for a sec and realize I shoudln't underestimate the guy. Vega goes first and I come within an eyelash of an OCV. Rinse and repeat the 3rd game and that's that.

Vs Fobhunter (3rd Round): Vanny doomed himself with his "Justin owns me for free" stuff before our match even started. I'll never figure out why he doesn't believe in himself. In any case, this was another "near Vega OCV" in the first match. Second match was a lot of the same but Vanny makes the crazy comeback with R2 Sagat before falling to Guile backfist cheapness.

Vs RPGv2 (Winners Finals): I was playing Rey all day in other stuff like Tekken Tag Tournament (that was way too fun, juggling madness) and SvC (why we wasted time on that game I'll never know). Anyway Rey takes his usual K Team and every match was a nail biter. Unfortunately for me I was on the losing end of the stick as I lost the first two, squeaked out the third and then lost the fourth. So we head off to...

Vs WB! (Losers Finals): This was the scare of the day by far. Jaime squaks out a victory in the first game after I blow a pretty good lead. Then I switch to B Team, which promptly gets it's ass handed to it because I'm too buy trying to get Power Geyser to come out instead of playing my game. I don't even think I saw his R2 Cammy in that match. So I took a quick walk, calmed myself down and did what I do best; turtle and throw. CUE THE COMEBACK! I basically just waited until I could pick up on Jaime's projectile patters and his one Roll Throw after another in the third game until it was over. Fourth match Kim does almost all the work as C.U.R.T. gets the job done and Guile cleans up. Fifth match C.U.R.T. comes into play again but Jaime makes the comeback on Guile. It's R2 Vega vs R2 Cammy but I outpoke and AA like a motherfucker until time runs out. That was nutty but great fun.

Vs RPGv2 (Grand Finals): I looked at my watch and turn to Rey saying "we're never going to have time to finish this." I made adjustments to my team so that Kim faced Yuri and Guile faced Maki instead of vice versa (which is what got me killed in Winners Finals) and it worked to a tee. The entire first set was basically the Kim show as I'd take two characters, then Guile would be beat up and then Vega would take it. Rinse and repeat all four games of the first set and I've earned my way back. The second set never really got off the ground. We played one match as Kim does the job yet again but then Rey makes the insane comeback with Rock and OCC's me to take the first match. So technically the set wasn't done but he had a lead when we finished. I'd say he wins this one.

I can't remember the last character since i'm going by CC memory....yun was my battery for ryu....since I can't remember any of yun's CCs....played scrub ryu fireball trap...1st match pull off his scrub DP CC....2nd match pull off his scrub full screen DP CC...did more random things and won

2nd round vs. HeavenlyStriker...I end up getting random (hibiki/ryo/eagle)...nam goes crazy S groove 1st game....hibiki is my battery for ryo...and she dies fast....ryo does some damage with a couple of lucky RC's...I get a close win with eagle with ugly CC's that had max combos of 6....2nd match nam picks his A-akuma/sak/bison....close match to the wire and eagle gets lucky again

3rd round vs. WB...jamie didn't want me to random so I chose A-vega/rolento/bison...as I know jamie hates fighting vega and bison...all I remember is rushing down with vega and rolento...and turtling with bison....was always too scared of jamie getting 1 hit in to do his crazy combos...matches were great..and I move on...

winners final vs. Nagata...justin wanted to play my tourny K-yuri/maki/rock...first 2 matches were close as I was slowly getting used to JDing again...felt like the same matches against justin from past tournys which could go either way...and I take this set 3-1

grand finals vs. Nagata...we realize that there's no time to finish this off...and out of stupidity...I change my game style from the winners final....and decide to rush down since we didn't have time left...and I get owned 4 matches straight...and he takes the 1st set....2nd set I calm down...but unfortunately we only had time for 1 game...I get a weird OCC with rock....with a lvl 3 shine knuckle...which appeared to hit him like a marvel guard break....

I don't consider this a tourny win since it was only 1 game....and he smoked me the 1st set....we should just leave it as a tie...

Alright I guess that I'll post my log for Saturday. Now that I have fully recovered from a weekend of food, drinking, clubbing and an annoying girlfriend. It's safe to say that the log will be fresh in my head still.

So I wake up Saturday after 4 hours of sleep, no food and a slight hangover (Never drink until 4:30am if you're going to a real tournament, you'll be fucked). Wake up, look outside, NO CAR. WTF!!! Anyways, I score a ride from Random Rey and head to the mall.

As soon as I get there, I know what I want. Nope, not food, not coffee. I need some fucking smokes, that shit always wakes me up. It didn't, so I don't know what happened. Go in and see Justin playing already. Darko and John show up, then team revo, and the shit gets started.

First round vs Darko> I play my usual style and bore him to sleep. I think that the highlight of the match was Rugal vs Sagat. He throws out a HP to start the match and I throw out RC God Press. Lol, that shit caught him and it looked like it increased the range. Anyways, I took it 2-0, but I think that Darko needed a pillow and blankey cause I'm sure that he was bored.

Second Round vs Justin> Nagata Lock Eye Eye owns me for free. I can't counter his vega and he knews it. So he just rushes in and I just take the beatings that he's giving me. So how I manage to make the matches respectable with my sagat, but it didn't matter. I move to losers. Justin is too good. Everytime he smacks me around, I just wanna get back into Street Fighter again.

???? Losers vs John> This match pretty much went the same way as Darko's. I found out that it losers was single match after cause of time. Damn you EG, close that shit at 9 like Limeridge back in the day. Anyways, I take out John's Rock when he goes for the teleport with Rugal's QCFx2 mk. And then his Morrigan just seemed to hand Rugal a whompping. John's Morrigan is pretty good. Lacks a little patience, but Jebus, it bothered the hell out of me. Bison came in and took out both Morrigan with my usual sleeper style. Sagat takes out Cammy and I move on to losers final to face Jamie.

Loser's final vs Jamie> Jamie is too good. His R1 Sagat was just killing me. And I'm an idiot at this point in the day. 4:30pm, no food, 1 coffee doesn't make for a pretty much. Made a lot of stupid decisions in the match that cost me big time. Jamie was very patient which is something that Jamie is totally not known for. Good Job Jamie.


Saturday was totally a fun day. It looks like Hamilton could have a Street Fighter Scene once again. Seems like we got a good core of people, everyone seems to like each other and the games were really fun.

Anyways, good tourney. Justin vs Rey matches were all pretty tight and had some good exchanges and provided good finals which unfortunately couldn't end decisively. I'd call it a tie.

Highlight for me was the reaction I got for the Cammy shit. Poor John but it served him right for fucking up my Chun the round before with his Cammy... :karate:

My execution seemed to get worse as the day went on though...I was hitting some of the better combos early in the day but then couldn't get two jabs together with Chun later on. Bah, it was still a lot of fun though. Especially the Loser's Finals against Justin.

We should try to do another tourney around the end of November like we suggested. Maybe start it a bit earlier and make Losers one match right from the beginning. Get it a little more organized and we won't have any disputed finishes.

Had time to sit around tonight and think about stuff... cuz i was so friggen bored.. so i decided.. it's time for Hamilton to step up against Tdot and Brampton and so forth.. So i'm looking for anyone (doesnt' matter what team your on who you are how well you play) that wants to join a team and start training hardcore for the shoppers world/nagata lock III tournaments. I'm saying this from a personal point of view...but i want to get better. ALOT better. I want to be able to play with the big shots JSMaster, Ratio1beatdown, etc. In as many games as i can, MVC2, CVS2, 3S, ST. So i'm looking for people to train with, who want to learn to play on that level. Go to tournaments and place 1st, not 2nd or 3rd. I realize it takes alot of time, effort and presistence to reach that level of play, and that it doesn't happen overnight. So i'm looking for anyone who is interested, for getting together for casuals/training/practice whatever you want to call it. My goal is to be able to be the top in atleast one of the SF games i mentioned earlier by December, it's not that far away but it's not a goal thats unreachable. So if anyone is interested (the invitation goes to everyone newby or veteran) let me know. You all know how to get a hold of me so it shoudlnt' be too hard. I want to be the best, and i know i have a long way to go in terms of skill and experience, but this is something i can't do al one. So if any of you are interested contact me.

When I first got into the scene, I used to make the trip up to Skybox 2 - 3 times a week and play the same people over and over until I was in a position to win a lot more than the beating I was taking when I first showed.

Setting your sights on 1st and 2nd is an admirable goal but foolhardy at this time. You all have a long way to go in 3S and CvS2 (you'd literally be starting from the ground up in Marvel so I don't even know if that's worthwhile) before you're going to be breaking top 10 and top 5 on a regular basis. I mean Rey's head and shoulders above everyone else in there and you can ask him about where he slots in the grand scheme of things.

In the air:
Lotsa air fireballs (the later, the better/safer, a great way to close in on people), lotsa air hurricane (can hit very low, if hit, follow up w/ fierce dp, or st.lp reset - dash - whatever, st. fierce > rh. demon flip kick + kick for added pressure, etc.), and mix in some dive kick as well.
Do the air hurricane and the dive kick at the peak of his jump whenever possible.

On the ground:
The general idea here is to mix all kinds of shit up, from tick-walk up-throw to tick-dash-throw to tick-kara-throw, add in the occasional command overhead/universal overhead and try to land his lk hurricane as much as possible after d.mk/st.mk (mix these two up after you knock someone down, 'cause one can only be parried low, the other high), then juggle with whatever (preferably fierce dp, easy and does nice damage, or go for resets into other things).
His lk hurricane juggle is one of Akuma's only real way to do big damage, so landing that should be your main priority.

Incorporate both his air game and his rush down-ground game evenly and correctly and you've got yourself a decent Akuma.

Hmm, I thought I already told you all these stuff already?

Other stuff:
His teleportation is a good runaway device, use that to get out of corners or if they're pressuring the crap out of you.
And I can't believe I forgot about this, but he can teleport out of most (if not, all) of Urien's Aegis traps, some scrub did this to my Urien a whole lot today and he successfully escaped from harm everytime.
Just another reason why Akuma owns everyone and their mothers for free.
Hahaha.

And I'll talk to you about his Raging Demon setups and the guaranteed 1st his of his ground pound super thingie some other time, whenever we see each other in person.

Had time to sit around tonight and think about stuff... cuz i was so friggen bored.. so i decided.. it's time for Hamilton to step up against Tdot and Brampton and so forth.. So i'm looking for anyone (doesnt' matter what team your on who you are how well you play) that wants to join a team and start training hardcore for the shoppers world/nagata lock III tournaments. I'm saying this from a personal point of view...but i want to get better. ALOT better. I want to be able to play with the big shots JSMaster, Ratio1beatdown, etc. In as many games as i can, MVC2, CVS2, 3S, ST. So i'm looking for people to train with, who want to learn to play on that level. Go to tournaments and place 1st, not 2nd or 3rd. I realize it takes alot of time, effort and presistence to reach that level of play, and that it doesn't happen overnight. So i'm looking for anyone who is interested, for getting together for casuals/training/practice whatever you want to call it. My goal is to be able to be the top in atleast one of the SF games i mentioned earlier by December, it's not that far away but it's not a goal thats unreachable. So if anyone is interested (the invitation goes to everyone newby or veteran) let me know. You all know how to get a hold of me so it shoudlnt' be too hard. I want to be the best, and i know i have a long way to go in terms of skill and experience, but this is something i can't do al one. So if any of you are interested contact me

I went to Skybox today after my class and I was really disappointed. First off, the sticks are shit as always. I was told that someone spilled pop on cvs2 machine and now the buttons are sticky. It's bad but its not THAT bad. I prefer sticky buttons to mp coming out by itself (which is currently the case on the right side)

Not many people play cvs2 anymore. Rich, Calvin and Alex and other good players rarely show up. Only 3 people from Fraser play this game consistently at Skybox and they aren't top players (Wayne is pretty good actually). A few players went to university/work now. Basicly my point is that Skybox's shitty sticks aren't worth your time. Sauga cvs2 players collectively aren't worth your time either.

Anyways, if anyone wants to challenge sauga in cvs2, I'll be there (maybe alone lol). If anyone wants training, I could help.
If you don't mind coming all the way to sauga, we can probably start something. We could play at skybox if you don't mind the shitty sticks, or you can come to my house to play cvs2 and other games on ps2 for free.

yeah...mohawk does lack people who actually play SF....most are just casual gamers...but at least they put up against people when they know they're not that skilled...they even say to me that they'll lose...but play for fun anyways...which is what this should be about....you know....fun owning up with Q..getting double digit streaks...playing by not blocking supers but just parrying...:lol:...but yeah...hamilton isn't the place to look for high level comp like the GTA has...it's just the fact that there's not a big gaming community here like there used to be in the 90's...so if you want good comp...take a trip down to play TOSF and see what you can do...but since that's far...just start out at MAC since more people play there than at mohawk...so if you can own up at MAC and mohawk consistently then it's time to play other cities...

I don't know about "wealth of knowledge" but yeah, like Rey said, there's a lot more competition here. When I go to Orbit, I at least get some 3S against varying competition and sometimes, like last Friday, some hardcore CvS2 comp too. When he gets a chance to go, I've been playing dogberry and his vicious old school skills at Hyper AE. I actually also have a 3S machine in the neighbourhood that I play this really good Urien player every now and then when I get a chance. So TO >>>>>>>Hamilton in terms of finding random competition for sure.

While I do advocate getting out there and playing new comp, you guys have so many players right at home that you should all just be playing each other every day and learning from each other. Kenny: Asian dude with a cap. Doesn't play very much, but he's pretty good. Retires a character after getting a 5-win streak.

And that's about it. We all go down at random times during the day. Primarily between 1230-230, or 330-630. Warren is there ALL THE TIME. In fact, I've seen him in there before the place has even opened. It's wierd. Just post up if you guys are comin' and we'll try to be there.

P-groove and S-groove are two of CvS2's most underrated grooves, and that is an advantageous thing, I believe.

Regarding Unblockables:

I gotta set this shit straight for the last time, unblockables are non-existent in the 3S machines at Mohawk AND Mac.

You folks need to understand that perfect positioning and specific timing/spacing is NOT needed in order for unblockables to cum into effect.
Why it's important is because of the fact that Urien needs to time (and space) his unblockables correctly for him to be able to launch his opposition up w/ the elbow (d.hp), allowing him to juggle again in return.

If Urien's command kick (toward + mk) doesn't work, then the game has no unblockables, period.
You don't even need to do his command kick, you can use d.lk, st.lk, d.mk, st.mk, toward + mp, Chariot Rush, other moves, etc., etc...
Just as long as the opponent is hit from both sides at the same time while pressed against a projectile, it will cause an unblockable situation (on the version w/ unblockables).

What Ike did to me (Knee-drop corner shit) wasn't the result of an unblockable situation, but was the result of the knee-drop crossing me up, thus hitting me on my wakeup when I blocked in the direction of the Aegis.
There is a way to block through that whole sequence and I am positive that it will work:
As you wakeup, hold down on the joystick the "down-back" motion and as the Knee-Drop is about to hit you, immediately switch the joystick motion to "back" to block high.
Try that and see how it goes.

Ike also said that the PS2 version of 3S has unblockables that are programmed specifically for the game, which is untrue.
That is a port of Version 1 of the Arcade 3S.

We have Version 2 of 3S at Mohawk and Mac.
And you can also select that version in PS2 3S if you set the "Guard Judgement" to "New" instead of the default "Old" (which enables unblockables).

Well considering all this, I haev figured out the exact timing to unblockable on the mohawk machine.

The contact of the "guard break" much occur DURING the block stun of the FIRST Aegis HIT on the OPPOSITE side of the Aegis block. But for some HOMO reason ths only works 100% of the time vs Humans

When i go exact setup on Compy it seems to block (auto gaurd glitch in PS2 console version stops unblocxkabel from happeing even though it is a programed feature in the game)

Nam: You can ask Rey man , i set him up liek 3 or 4 times in the corner and he tried blocking Differnt EACH time not liek you can block differnet more than twice anyways (high left or High right). The trick is to use moves that have a HIT TIME wher ethere is a window of time that the move is hitting (ie KNEE DROP) that way it is easy to meaty and hit during th initial block stun.

Both times were on Saturdays (I don't club on any night outside of Thursdays and Saturdays) and it just wasn't fun.

You're talking to the guy who used to go to different clubs from Thursday to Sunday. And after years of weeding through the shiet, I've come to turns that Guverment and Comfort Zone are the best. Running for your life? I only had to do that at Turbo when the place was getting shot up. Never at Guv. I'm not a big fan of the Orange Room. I usually stay in the Main Room. I prefer house music. Not Trance, which they have been playing a lot of recently, but House.

As I've said before, there is no "exact" timing to doing unblockables, yes, even on the one at Mohawk, but that 3S doesn't have unblockables anyway, so it's moot anyhow.

The reason why the dummy in training mode (PS2) blocks all unblockable setups is because the dummy's "Guard Judgement" is always set to "New", kind of like the DC version (except that ver. is entirely void of unblockables, unlike the PS2 ver. where you have the option to play w/ or without unblockables).

Which is stupid (PS2 version) because you can't test your unblockable setups on the dummy, you have to practice it on the CPU or against human players.

And that brings up the point about CPU opponents, why is it that I can do unblockables against the CPU on PS2 (which is based on the original arcade system board), huh?
You can't do it against them at Mohawk because they know how to block it (since the game has no unblockables), just like we can, too (if we know how to block it).

Apparently, Rey blocked in every direction but the correct direction, and that's why he got hit by it:

- the shit I said aboot blocking low, then blocking high, that only works if the Knee-drop hits later than it normally would.
But if that's the case, you can probably just block high the whole time...I may be wrong, though.

- if when the Knee-drop hits simultaneously (or almost simultaneously) w/ the Aegis as you're getting up, block (forward direction) toward the direction of the Aegis (the opposite direction), you'll block the first few hits of the Aegis/Knee-drop, then quickly change the direction to "back" and you'll block the rest of the hits.

- eh, that sounded a wee bit confusing, in short: hold ->, than hold <-, you're guaranteed to block it all, and that's how the CPU is able to do it.

Man, I deserve a real chocolate-chip-mixed-with-almond-baked-fresh-out-of-the-oven-cookie for this shit.

Do you mean buffering the motion as you hit the mk button (since you're already in the "down" position, just d/f, f direction right after), then if it hits, do another qcf motion and hit kick...is that what you mean?

But her back + fierce move is a link.
I mean, you can cancel it, but you can also link it.

I'll try to burn you a CD of all the Urien videos that I have.
It's not much, but I think it's enough.

I got a few matches of Tokido's Urien at Evo2k2, owning up all the top US players that was there...and total rapage against Justin Wong's Chun-Li (poor fellow), you need to check those shit out.

I also have this 3 on 3 match vid that has Tokido's Urien against another Japanese Urien, even though Tokido lost, it was, like, one of the greatest matches ever.

Plus some RX match vids (I need more matches of this god, though) and a bunch of his combo vids w/ different (guaranteed) Aegis unblockable setups against each of the 3S characters.
His stuff are the best (although complicated), and it does help your game out a bit.

All in all, Japanese Urien > US Urien.

I still haven't seen all the videos that I have, so give me, like, a few days or so, and after I've seen everything...I'll compile a collection of all the Urien vids (that I think you haven't seen, yet) I have, and then hand it to you, alright?

I agree what what your saying bro, but the fact still remains that they do work on the arcade at mohawk. BUt there is so much more potential now after i look at it for the Aegis.

Instead of going for unblokcables (unless your a sucker and got caught in a throw setup in the corner) I try and go for UNAVOIDABLE DAMAGE SETUPS. It takes to much effort to put somone into a postion that requires god forsaken timing and orientation so whay not just do less damage but make it guarenteed.

For example i love this setup:

Parry xx EX headbutt, lp BALL xx (fierce or Medium aegis, cant remeber which one) RH crush, aegis bounce, then some crazy juggle shit.

So im gonan give up on the UNB setups unless they make them selves very apparent.

Yes, Urien is not all about unblockables, it's also about the shoulder crush into pseudo Aegis traps, random mp ball into Aegis, anti-air ball and EX Aegis to prevent people from jumping, all for the purpose of pushing/making them back up into the corner.
Once they're cornered, bring out an Aegis and the high and low games begin, if you hit them and do everything right, elbow for the launch and the fun juggle begins...etc...etc...then they die...

Not gonna come back to Hamilton tomorrow or Friday now since I'm not sure if I'm up to make the trip just to go to Mac for a bit.

Well, I do admit those Japanese buttons used to own me, but I'm getting more comfortable doing Urien's EX specials on them now.

It's just that they are too soft and you can't feel when the buttons are pressed, that's why I've been hesitant to use Akuma when I was at Mohawk (no Raging Demon).

You do a RH Knee-drop after the Aegis, then another Knee-drop (RH Knee-drop again if the initial one hits, mk Knee-drop or headbutt if whiffed), should put you in a nice position to play high and low games (non-unblockable version).

You probably can, but the Knee-drop hits so quickly and unexpectedly you'll have a really hard time to react to it.

For an even easier setup, just do the RH crush after the Aegis (like you said), you'll have plenty of time after the crush that you can even taunt and still have time to continue the pain afterwards...hehe...
You can also do st.mp reset into RH crush after the Aegis, they'll land on the Aegis and you will greet them on the other side of the Aegis...hehe...

Thanks for saying this Justin... it lets some people who are stubborn know that HAMILTON SUCKS AT 3S... just certain people here dont' know whats out there (TO, MTL and elsewhere). T5 was a humbling experience for me, but still some people think they are god tier cuz they can beat me or something.. like it's the craziest shit ever.
