Well Street Fighter Anniversary looks damn sweet on the XBox... either from the glee of playing it or because it really is, this game looks damn sharp. The colors are all there and so smooth... it appears very refined. The options menu looks just like the PS2 version, except the XBox Live option is right above Select Game. There's a couple new screens (i think) when you select 3S or HF while it loads.

We definitely have something to look foward to for those who've never played 3S before. Post any questions about the game that haven't been answered for the PS2 yet. So far all I've been doing is using SA3 Yun... and most of his shit I've tried works.

Sighh... more fighters commin out sooner... or much later...

US XBox Release Date - 02.22.2005

480P in this game looks astounding and it makes a HUGE difference for Hyper SF2(looks as good as ST on KAWA-X with MAME filter on!).

SF3 looks immaculate as well, and get this the announcer(the wav sounds for "GO FOR IT!" or "LET'S GO!" when you reach a level) are in surround. I almost flipped when I heard it. Certain parts of songs also are mixed with the rear channels really well. This is a lot better than the PS2's sound skipping when in digital mode(then again it could just be the PS2 messing up).

Either way for those looking for the best visuals Xbox delivers again, whether it's 2D or 3D those who pay extra for their setup are sure in for a treat.

PS I already changed the music to Hyper(3 soundtracks to play with), it's now the SSF2T PC soundtrack and it sounds really good.

Record it. I wanna hear it. Can I get the same surround sound if I hook my ps2 to my receiver via optical cable?

sounds good unfortunately the only HD capable monitor I have is my Desktop 19" monitor, might have to invest in a better tv if what you guys say is true.

yea man 3s Yun is the shit, I cant wait to get back into that. After playing the ps2 version i really forgot how much i loved those old stages, from SF2. Just seeing the Casino background with Balrog brought a tear to my eye.

edit-
heres som questions for you:
-If youve already played it, have you brought it online yet?
-If so how are the server settings, like can you alter the parry system online?
-is it only 2 player servers?
-Can you change the speed in SF2?

does it really matter when the US release date is since we can play on the jap version because of the W-code thing.

One question, did they fix the ST version of Vegas wall dive back to the normal way? Or is it still fucked up like the PS2 version?

since you guys proclaim that 3s is 480p, does it support widescreen? thanx!

How do the graphics compare with the PS2 and arcade versions? Seems like most of you are implying that the graphics are better than the PS2 one, but in what way exactly?

Has anyone found any options to enable custom soundtracks or any kind of extra the PS2 version doesn't have?

Thanks.

Progressive Scan > Interlaced. Especially with 2D graphics.

Hyper SF2 looks REALLY REALLY good, far better than any arcade monitor.

SF3 looks AMAZING with the filter on. I have to admit it may be the best 2D fighter I've seen(yes better than Guilty Gear XX). The PS2 one looks good, but progressive scan really helps. Maybe someone out there can test to see if the PS2 version supports 480p also?

ok ive got both versions and a scart selector box, so i loaded them both up at the same time, went into training, and then flicked between each system.

i really cant see any difference, the font on the xbox is a lot smaller in the training menu though.

umm, both with filter on and off, the ps2 seems sharper
not necessarily in a a goodway however

with filter off, the ps2 verysion just looks blocky, whereas the xbox version retains some smoothness thats easier on the eye. another thing, on the character select screen, u can make out both uriens eyes on the ps2, but cant quite make out his right eye on the xbox one.

this might be cause ive fucked around with the x and y ranges, but hey, thats how ill be playing it.

scrolling on the xbox seems a little better than the ps2 on character stages, but both versions look awful scrolling the character paths with the filter off.

id have to say i prefer the xbox version cause it just feels softer and nicer on the eye.

So you guys got the japanese version? You can play it on american systems without a mod chip, is that right? And is live supported as well? Over here? thanks

does it really matter when the US release date is since we can play on the jap version because of the W-code thing.

but can we play it on live here in the us?

i doubt it...i'm not quite certain game servers will be hosting the jap version of sfae even tho u can play it on an american xbox prbly b/c of legal reasons...if it aint in the U.S. yet, how can xbox servers be running it? i guess theoretically xbox live should work since apparently mostly all of u say that the jap version version of the game works on the american console...

How does it fare against the DC version of 3s? I know you guys say the DC version lags a fair bit with parries and stuff, and that it throws your timing, does the Xbox version do this (offline, obviously).

I can't see them making a Live version that doesn't lag at least sometimes. We're not at that stage yet.

STAC is mad fun. Me and my friends had a mini tourney and it was crazy, so many different styles of characters made it too good. I love the remixes of the songs as well, plus the ST 2 the animated movie is very clear on the game.

DooM
10-18-2004, 12:01 AM
the remixes suck at some times, but some are done really well *Honda*

I always put the music on cps2, i think that just sounds better, maybe im just a stupid oldskool lover ;)

Good news, playing Live locally is lag-free. It feels just like playing in the arcade. Big kudos to Capcom for a job well done.

PS. I use Japan Live, playing the Japanese version on US xbox, I hope US Live can playing the game online too.

Oh, I saw you awhile back but it says the network is bad, so I didn't play

I'm going to add you to my friend list so maybe we can player later

Skyl, network bad will still play fine. Just play!

Skyl
10-26-2004, 04:46 PM
Dream TR, haha the game is too lag on my side, punches come out almost a second after a button press. What about your side? does the host do better??
Anyway, as expected, now that i see the worldwide matchup suffers quite a lot of lag, i will have to stick to HK-HK matches :(

DreamTR
10-26-2004, 04:48 PM
Skyl, you want to Host? I don't parry much, so my problems are minimal.

DreamTR

Also, that "remixed" music is the same music from the 3DO version of Super TURBO FYI.

Hey, more Japaneses have bought the game, they will soon flood the ranking board.

MrFujisawa
10-28-2004, 12:25 PM
ok my impressions of 3S

there is lag, its probably not much, but its thrown me a bit and i lost my first few matches, but now im getting used to it im doing ok.

yes thers lots of japanese on the rankings already, im ranked a lowly 237, but its an english speaking guy who's top, and thats all that counts :P

A question to those who have it .... did they fix the 3S replay save feature? In the PS2 version, it will randomly bug out when replaying. Does it replay okay in the XBox version?
