damage handicapp set to 2 stars? wtf is that shit? thats not how the game was intended to be played. i was gonna sign up til i read that part. your rules, but that's just silly IMO, that damage level is not a realistic setting for the game, and can actually make or break a character

I didnt think the handicap mattered as long as both plyrs were the ssame number of stars. I think it'd b easiest just to leave it at the default 4 stars tho.

uh my bad SaBrE
let me re-place that on default I wasn't thinking when I put that
I meant to put 4 stars *that's the default right?*

mokura: handicapp makes all the difference in a real fight. sf2 games are about making no mistakes. you make a decent sized mistake, you will get punished hard. you lower that handicapp, you allow, for instance, a wreckless player more mistakes than what the game would normally intend for and his decisions wont be as much as a gamble. damage changes the whole dynamic of a fighter. no matter what game it is. some people may base their game with ken off landing the crossup TOD dizzy combo into a finishing combo to win the round. you lower the handicapp, its no longer as much of a winning strategy for the player cuz his opponent will still be alive. theres a lot of things you have to take into consideration...

Pretty sure Mokura meant to say: as long as both players have equal stars, damage stays the same, it doesn't matter whether you are at 1 star or 8 stars, damage is equal unless one player has different handicap level than another...

It does. But it's alright, we don't really care either way.

Damage DOES matter. For a player like me, who uses Zangief, it can be hard at times for me to get in. On 4 stars, if I get in and hold my postion long enough, then I have a good chance of winning. However, if you have only 2 damage, it gives you more time to push me back and keep me away long enough to win.

Also...the whole 1 latency thing is a bit ....well....inconsiderate. I can understand keeping this broadband only, HOWEVER, if someone from say, the UK wants in, they can't play. I propose that you change that to allow the players choose their latency themselves. After all, it IS their matches, and some run better on 2 or 3.

anyway, I suppose I'll sign up and lose real fast.

1 lat in SSF2 is nothing if you have broadband anywhere from the world seriously really.
but I guess players can choose their lat I will change the rules but I prefer everyone play on 1 lat unless there is lag
unless you play a game like GW:ED/DBZHD which has more going on

a4relz: west coast players can not play UK people on latency 1, entirely too far. you, on the other hand can, since you are EC, right in the middle of it all. some uk players i can get a decent game on 2 or 3, but theres a lot of times where its just not worth it, unfortunately
