Because I bought a "new" (new to me) gateway that only has USB ports and no PS2 ports, I got stuck buying a new keyboard. I couldn't find one that was USB and wired.
Seems like the keyboard will just say "you know what, you can't walk forward anymore" and I can't block or move or attack for about 1-1.5 seconds, which means I get owned at no fault of my own (has nothing to do with lag).
Is this possibly interference from other electronics? Any way to minimize this?

In my opinion, wired is better to play games on. Wireless kb's have delay when I press some button combinations, so for example I can't perform a long combo in MVC.
Wired is better , because it responds direct.
Unless it's a logitech, then wired is probably better. My Logitech "Elite Flat" (not sure the exact name) works perfectly fine. It comes in the Logitech MX Duo. Check it out if fry's electronics ever goes on sale, or if it's in your area. Or just check your major store.

Nah if I was gonna invest any more money (I spent $80 on this goddamn wireless kb and mouse combo) then it'd be in another mas stick. Mine gave me three good years of solid flawless gameplay, I can't say enough about how much I love 'em. :karate:

wireless anything, is just not good for gaming. good for non gaming use where absolute precision is not needed, but its just out of the question for gaming IMO. possible interference and such is always a possiblity or a random signal lag can happen. you dont get that with a wired peice of hardware. its nice not haveing wires, but its also nicer to have 100% accuracy and such, gaming wise
