When the fuck is calgary going to host a tourney?! fuccking cow-town rite now is as boring as edmonton...come on some one...host!

December 18th 2004 will be the day of Calgary's next tourney. The owner of the University Cove has agreed to it, and as well he will sponsor prizes.

Same old rules apply, and of course the old $10 entry fee for each game or $25 for all three, and the games are as usual (mvc2, cvs2, 3s) and other ones if there is enough interest.

We will have technican checking everything before the tourney, so there should not be any challenges regarding the controllers. We will check the angles of the joystick, too.

Um... if you're distributing the pot per tournament and some people paid $10 and others paid $8.33 how are the pots equally distributed? Just a curiousity from a regular tournament organizer.

Thanks for bringing it up, and I will figure that out later. Possibly make that $24 for all 3 games.
BTW, Byron(Toronto) is getting better with his RC. His sakura is better than the first time I played him, but his bison is so scrubby besides the execution of the cc. I will be training with him before the tourney, but unfortunately he won't win it because somewhere down the road, I will knock him out of the winner's bracket. :devil:

They wouldnt be equal. basically if you paid $8.33 per game, thats how much goes into that pot. Or you could take the total and pro rate it and round down ;).

Tourney on December 18th (Saturday), begins sign up at 11:00, tourney starts at latest 12:30. For people coming from out of town, please confirm that you are coming for sure, so I will reserve a spot for you(especially in case you come in late for some unexpected reasons).

Games are mvc2, cvs2, sf3s. (GGXX only upon request with enough interest.) We can also do team tourney and city competition if you guys want to stay for another day.

As far as entry fee is concerned, the owner has given us two choices, and we will use the one which we like better,

Choice#1: The usual $10 entry for each game, or $24 for all 3 games. Owner gets little from the pot, and the rest goes to prizes. Free play all the way. (Prizes- 1st 70%, 2nd 20%, 3rd 10%)

Choice#2: Lower entry fee $5 for each game, or $12 for all 3 games. Free hot dog and a surplee for entering. Owner double the amount in the pot without taking any. However, we will use the pay per play rule while in tournament mode of course.

Well, let me know what you think about the choices.

Entire business plan is flawed, they're trying to attract a wider range of people this time kids to adults.

If you are looking for other GGX2 players you should head down to the Cove at the UofC every saturday, there is a bunch of us that play GGX2. and for $10 you get free play from 5pm to 11pm ish (or 1 am, not too sure) There is also a mini GGX2 tournament next week, you should definately try it out. The more people the better! ! !

The whole point of the entry fee rebate is to encourage people with skill to rise above the crowd and to take competition to the next level in Calgary. If you want it, you have to earn it by being better than everyone else. Look at Ray in mvc2, he makes other people get better... seriously I got better by getting my ass kick by his cheap ass teams on a weekly basis. J/K.. Raymond, you are always my hero. :karate:

Hello Calgary,

My friend and I have made a site www.illusionsofoasis.com It is a Canadian Street Fighter site that plans to unite the 10 major Canadian SF regions. The site design is done for the most part so what we are doing now is advertising it in hopes that we can attract as many players from each of the 10 regions as possible. More info on the larger scope of the site can be found in our statement, which is on the main page. I encourage everyone to join as the Canadian SF scene is not very united and this could be a good chance for everyone to come together. So far, I thank Justin (aka Nagata Lock II) for agreeing to help with communication among the Greater Toronto Area (GTA SF). If anybody else from any of the respective regions would like to help us, here is what we are basically in need of at the moment.

1) business people to help with the future services and business aspect of the site
2) advertising people to help promote the site in their respective regions
3) website caretakers to update the site as well as admins for the forums
4) content providers, which includes but is not limited to match videos, pictures, custom videos/tutorials, articles, and news

If you are not interested in being part of the team, then we would appreciate if you could agree to join the players league. An example of Eric (aka JS Master) shows what questions must be answered. Once completed, please make me aware of your decision on SRK by PM or my alternate form of contact is MSN (geeseownzu@yahoo.com or add Morpheus). That email is also the email I check. Either of these contacts are fine for me, but the easiest is probably email.
