I meant sf2turbo...I didnt put ssf2 but sf2 and forgot to add the turbo to it. That guile combo is pretty sweet...or did I just forget to block ?!!?!?1 :confused:

Well I smtimes practice it offline so I know the combo works and it felt real; I'm pretty sure I finally pulled off the whole thing: SB, c.jab, s.jab, SB, c.strong, s.fierce (in the corner). Forgot who it was up against.

Well, I am divided on the subject. To me the overall best player is that one dude from the UK. Forgot his name. He may not get the most wins but his style and strategy is "on the fly" and that's what I like about him.

We go back and forth alot. Everyone else is good.....there are some players I like playing more than others because they really make it a chess match...not an exercise in turtle shell cracking.

Yeah I know I'm not one of the tops in SSF2. Haven't seen Gummy mentioned but him, AK, Saibot (dude's got combos galore)..plenty others can own me in SSF. I prefer HF anyway, even though I think SSF2 runs better online.

Sai and Sabr3 definately are close. Mokura is one of the best around zbattle, and I've never played dramatics since the lag is so bad :sad:

Atmos and Saibot are definitely two of the best players on zbattle. These guys have been here from the beginning and deserve a lot of respect. Even with the boom in online sf play these guys are still kicking ass and taking names. Atmos is definitely one of the most frustrating players ive ever fought against, we go back and forth a lot and Saibot is zbattles very own combo master! Ive seen this guy do some crazy shit. Hes a very solid player. Underestimate him at your peril.

Man, i was so wrecked the other night it was like 4am and all i remember saying to u was to get ur asses down to Mas not realising that it would have been like 7pm ur time. From what ive read, Mas’ xbox sticks are actually ps2 sticks that come with a modified ps2>xbox adapter which cannot be used with other ps peripherals, so you may be right in saying that the dreambox might not work with your pad(assuming that the guy used the same circuit board that he does in his sticks).

Ive been using a magic box to play ae online. I tested it with the original playstation pad and it seems to work flawlessly. I heard that not all ps2>xbox adapters like the original ps pad. I guess once you find out what board the guy used to make your pad its just a case of finding the right adapter. That guy over at Mas is a Jedi though so i doubt ull have to go as far as to get an “xsnes” pad made. If your dreambox doesnt work im sure he’ll have something for you.

Honestly, I don't see anyone on here beating any of us consistently or maybe even at all other than JSJ. Heck, I'll get Jason Wilson (DreamTR) to play as well, he may even be harder to play since he plays more characters than Cole or myself.

For me, SSF is not that much different than ST because I use old dhalsim. I'm not scared of any characters, I've seen them all--I've gone against the best player for each character.

Some of the best players I have met/played are DGV (Too good on Zbattle), JSJ (wouldn't leave if I didn't beat his DJ :P), and Gummy. Those are the ones I have trouble beating, especially DGV :P

In Turbo, Mokura is very good, but I gave his Zangief a hard time with my guile :P

ON the other hand, JSJ is a cool dude, taught us MExicans how to play :P

If you want some competition, look for "Mexican", "Ryu" or "SuperKid."

Hey Serpent. I went under the nick Darth_Ryu on z-net and I remember playing against you back in June last year. I have to agree with you on the whole "arcade calibre" aspect of things. There is a lot of bs that you can do and get away with on the snes version that just doesn’t work on cps. But in saying that I still believe there is a lot that can be learned and applied to the arcade version by playing on the snes. Imho if you like og sf I think you should give zbattle another go. There is still a lot of low latency (read lag free) competition to be had. However, if you are a regular down the arcade or really have no interest in playing og sf then ignore all of the above :p

Yea my bro and I did attend Evo. We just chilled in the BYOC room and played AE (Hyper SF) the entire weekend. We got a chance to meet up and play with alot of the old/ST regulars like J-Cole, Spence and a few others. I think we kinda surprised some people there -> using a snes ps2 pad to play an OG sf game is rather rare :clap: Overall, I was suprised we played pretty well on AE since we never really played arcade/CPS SF for more than a few sessions in the past (even in the days of WW-SSF2).

Regarding Zbattle being "arcade caliber," you're right it's not arcade caliber in the fact that its not running on CPS. But in terms of competition, I can't find any other place where I can get an abundant amount of old skool competition. Even though I reside in So Cal, its still hard to find any comp or anyone that consistently plays the older games. Yea, occassionally Shirts & Valle will show up at Camelot, but not that often since I imagine they have rather busy lives as well. Sure the snes version is different as it has its own quirks, but the game is still very accurate and most importantly the fundamentals are still there. All the zoning, footsies, and mindgames I've acquired were thru all my yrs of playing on the snes port. Surprisingly, alot of that does in fact carry over to CPS. I also know there is a slight difference in sprite sizes which does affect setups, but the principles leading up to the setup are still the same. I know SSF2 and ST are 2 completely different games, but I don't play ssf2 as a substitute for ST, rather I play it as another og SF game...kinda like Hyper Fighting + :smile:

Truthfully whether or not you decide to play on Zbattle ultimately comes down to how much you desire to play og sf. I mean, if you reside in an area that consistently has guys playing HF,ST and AE 24/7 then yea, I could understand why you wouldn't want to bother with the online experience. But for alot of guys like myself, Team UK (props to my British compatriots) and others, that just isn't the case.

On a side note, I never really see you on Aim...but then again I rarely turn on Trillian --> too lazy :razzy:

Hey, I finally got my stick back from my friends, he's gotten pretty good at Third Strike but I'm ready to play some OG stuff again. I heard that zsnes 1.40 came out, is everyone useing that now? And what server do I need to set zbattle for? I play almost exclusively Honda, I've played a few of you before and I've gotten a lot better since then.

Honestly, I don't know how many scrubs I own on kaillera, I could say, I own roughly 98% of all the scrubs online excluding myself of course because I'm god tier, and nobody can compete with me. as for lucky i left cause i was getting bored out of my mind playing a ryu/blanka for close to 8 rounds straight . wouldnt matter who i picked it would end up being blanka/ryu ....

when i left wasnt it 14/10 ? could be wrong . no idea what u play on pad/stick / key . but dont expect me to pull out " non-scrub" combos at all cause i cant do shit on a keyboard except the occasional DP is im lucky . so i have to survive on normal moves /fireballs / sonic-boom type moves ..

Actually, you are referring to Zsnes Netplay. Zsnes does in fact work with routers, you just have to forward your ports to do it. Which means, actually knowing the password for your router. I'm amazed how many different people don't know the passwords to their own routers...

(sorry for bad english) the fact is, my connection is provided by a telephone firm, the telephone line is "chained" with the cable connection; this service is a sort of wan, and the firm actually has the routers; they cant forward some ports for the users, unless (maybe) we pay them some money per mounth

Even if tcp/ip should works, I dunno why kaillera can run with routers and false for zbattle :(
