hi unikron ggs yesterday. I prefer playing speed 3. It seems like more and more people are playing speed 2 these days, but i like to stick to 3.

EDIT: I find out what caused the damned ##$#$1!!! disconnection problems, my brother is busy with upgrading his server that's why my connection was completely gone at times, plus the fact that he is changing our router makes everything clear, so if you lose connection with me then I will give you your win back. The problems should be gone before thursday so there is no major problem. Thank god. So much to explain so little time.

Well, you can't counter that short slide offline that well either, at least not in ST. Plus, offline, I don't play dhalsim that way either regarding short slide.


I know you're not playing the way you normally do because I have only seen the crossup spear once and no corner fire/flame trap, etc. Heh, I know all about the short slide (from playing it offline to Zsnes & Kaillera). Maybe I'm justing executing the reversal timing too fast...which would make sense since Turbo 2 feels really slow. Come to think of it, even Turbo 3 on XBL feels alittle slow :razzy: Meh, playing SF with 4 different input times (offline AE-PS2, Zsnes, Kaillera & now XBL) regularly is hell on the timing..but yet im stubborn like that and will continue to play thru it :woot:

I'm down to play you offline...does Camelot still have a working ST cabinet? As for FFA, i'm a little hesistant to drive that far off since you & Cole never could setup an appropriate date and time for your $$ matches. Not to fond of driving an 1 1/2 hour just to play the CPU :wgrin:

Ugh, Happ Ultimates... I have that shit on my current stick and they are gahbage sir. ^_^ The stick of choice (IMO) is the Happ Competition Stick. Tomorrow is the supposed release of the SF 15th Anniversary stick and it's supposedly outfitted with a Happ Competition stick and Happ's convex buttons. If my local EB gets them in tomorrow I will be heading on over after work to try them out. The stick is outfitted with a Communicator slot so you can hook up your headset with ease. I will also see about getting one opened up to verify what parts are inside. If things are as advertised, I will pick one up without hesitation. From the looks of it, the stick is pretty friggin hot. They also got the Udon team to do the artwork on it. Looks purty sweet to me.

Hey, he didn't invent the ranking system. Who are you to be telling people what they should be ranked. Rankings don't mean much online anyways.
He has definitely not been playing scrubs, poor guy plays crazy sets vs good people. He has a lot of losses, but a lot of wins too. The ranking system basically benefits players that have won the most, or started late and play against players ranked B and higher from an initial R rating.

Yes I do recall playing you some time back, but yeah I have played so many matches on 3rd Strike and SF2 I cant recall them all. Quite a few people play SF2 here in Australia, however there are much bigger competitive scenes with 3rd Strike and KOF in general. In any western country in general there is going to be people playing SF and especially when your country is located right next to Asia (Hong Kong/China, Singapore & Japan are not very far at all) there is going to be a fairly large base of players here.

Ugh, Happ Ultimates... I have that shit on my current stick and they are gahbage sir. ^_^ The stick of choice (IMO) is the Happ Competition Stick. Tomorrow is the supposed release of the SF 15th Anniversary stick and it's supposedly outfitted with a Happ Competition stick and Happ's convex buttons. If my local EB gets them in tomorrow I will be heading on over after work to try them out. The stick is outfitted with a Communicator slot so you can hook up your headset with ease. I will also see about getting one opened up to verify what parts are inside. If things are as advertised, I will pick one up without hesitation. From the looks of it, the stick is pretty friggin hot. They also got the Udon team to do the artwork on it. Looks purty sweet to me.

I wish there was a way to gauge how many players are online simultaneously. Waiting out the 5-10 minutes for someone to hop on in can be a little irritating. Granted, I can do my laundry while I wait, but when you have nothing to do but wait the time drags to a crawl.

Hey Todd,
That rumor is true for the design. The design is based off of a prototype stick that Two Tikkets built for me awhile back. I was asked to go to Nuby a few times for testing and design schematics for the stick. I must have brought 6 different styles of sticks and buttons with me with 6 different joysticks, and I told them that Happ Competition with COnvex buttons was their best choice in terms of pricing and what the players want. No company has ever shipped a stick with Convex from the start in the USA as a mass market stick. Personally, I like Happ Ultimates Hard Spring better than any stick because the angles are better oriented on them. Happ Comp Medium Springs are better suited for home market anyway, as in the arcade, sometimes people drill the panels funny, causing the cabinets to be "off" slightly when you play, similar to the problems everyone has with 360s. But it was in the best interest from experience, and the ability to hold the stick in lap or on the floor (the buttons used to be on the top right, so your leg would actually touch them like the Real Arcade in an earlier version they showed to me) with the Happ Comp Stick and Convex buttons. I hope everyone enjoys it= )

But I have something to say. I get the impression that you don't like throws that much(IE tick throws in particular). You have a really good defensive game and when time is running out you turtle up like crazy so that leaves me no choice but to rush in and throw you to death. Once I do that you try to do it to me and I reverse you(or sometimes you throw me) or you just let go of the controls and quit playing. When I host it's usually speed 3 but I am TRYING to get into speed 2....it just feels like I am playing in tar! Not to mention I think that it's a huge advantage for old guile. When I play on speed 2 player throw booms like fireballs! But not on speed 3. Maybe its just me. I like speed 2 for not so good connections but prefer speed 3 for great connections.

Oh and I have NOT been using tick throws that much either. But against characters like SF2 Guile I kinda have too since his defense is almost impenetrable...even afer a missed flash kick that fucker can still block when he lands...

Unfortunately, no. SSF/ST Ryu cannot do the CPS1 chain so he can't do c.short, s.fierce. Also, if you are going to do anything into super fireball with Ryu, it's probably best to do c.forward - it's the easiest to buffer. Yes, you can do crossup roundhouse, c.short x2 into super - the timing is pretty strict and it's not as "scrub friendly" as Ken's. There's a trick to it though - do the double fireball motion as you are hitting the second short, then hit short + jab right after the short. Magic connecting supers!

Well, there are about 12 different things that you can do after DJ crosses someone up - you'll probably have to get more specific as to what you are looking to do - I'll be able to help more that way.

GGs... I developed such a headache from all of the adrenaline. I know the potential of how scary your Fei Long could be, and I was already pumped up from playing Lukesballs. I can't travel too far, so I only go to a few tourneys. I'll probably be at ECC10. I just hope that they run the tourney a little earlier, so I can be a part of the team tourney.

GGs... That ChEese Bison is not something that I get to play against often. It was definitly hard to block that crossup crusher at times. I just wish my reversals were as good as White Silver's (if you are listening CaliPower he does NOT mash DP.) I only know how to do it well with charge characters, but his is just about move. I will find something for CE Bison next time.

Zeruel - Kind of a short set. But nice blanka. I was getting mad lucky with my "Psychic DP's" on your Blanka Ball's.

LukesBalls - Holly shit man. how many games did we paly tonight? In the 2 sets we played it must have beed near 70+ games. So close I think you came out on to by about 2 games total.

CaliPower - SICK ASS FUCKING Ryu. I like to think that i "Forced" you to move from Ce.Ryu to St.Ryu. But I doubt it. I really need to get my spacing a bit better and watch my wakeup DP's. You always seam to read it and I eat a RedFireBall and then you get to apply the pressure from there.

I use a MAS Stick as well, but it is the v1 PS2/XBOX version with the adapter. Which model is yours? The newer adapter might work with your stick, even though I have my suspicions that it is a Dreambox (anyone got a recent version [v2?] PS2/Xbox MAS Stick.) I also gave White Silver the adapter part for the (v2) PS2/Xbox MAS Stick. Both of these work with the communicator, and I have never experienced any lag on it.

R Ism: GGs. I didn't realize that you were playing a game of counter, so after a while I played along for a bit. I don't blame you, as much as I do blame capcom for not even considering a blind select option or perhaps an option for the winner to keep the same character.

To that Japanese guy I played yesterday and in general: It always seems like the game is ok during the first game, but afterwards turns really laggy. GGs regardless.

JSJ: I don't think that it affects performance at all. It is all internet packets that are way bigger than the actual game needs. This would be an interesting technical discussion.

I just get frustrated sometimes with the bit of lag and missing DP's here and there, so those few matches if it seemed like I just gave up, it was because I was about to throw my stick through a window. :) I'm sure in person tho all the games would be just as good against you, or anyone I've played against, just a bit different.

GG's man. I use CE Guile for a host of reasons but I'd be a liar if I told you one wasn't for his strength. Playing CE Guile feels more solid than ST Guile. St Guile has more options but CE Guile plays like a rock. Same holds true for HF Blanka and Chun. Know what I mean?

GG's man. I use CE Guile for a host of reasons but I'd be a liar if I told you one wasn't for his strength. Playing CE Guile feels more solid than ST Guile. St Guile has more options but CE Guile plays like a rock. Same holds true for HF Blanka and Chun. Know what I mean?

HAHA, GG's indeed. When you switched to Ken I was too slow to react to everything. I play alot of Ryus online so I know that matchup well. Ken on the otherhand is fast and unpredicable. Good stuff. I play speed 3 as well but I do prefer 2. We can do 3 next time.

Hey,

I would ask Phi about it. To be honest, I was at The Break a total of nine times last year and it looks to be even less in 2005. After the money that was spent on Tekken 5 and how poorly arcades are doing in general, the only hope of getting SFAE is if the price is rock bottom.

I have to agree that ST just isn't the same anymore either. The mixup of character versions makes for a far more interesting game than ST on its own.
