I played alwayzcharged again tonight. We had some great matches with my Sagat going on his Guile. I think we're both learning the ins and outs of the matchup. His timing to flash kick through my tiger shots is ridiculous.

I use a Pelican Universal Stick, unmodded (shut up I don't have the money) which was fine for HF but I've played so many games the piece of shit is starting to give out. Fierce Punch is unresponsive (fucking hilarious when we were playing HF Ryu vs. HF Ken and I walked up to throw you and instead just walked into you for an hour) and short sticks (goodbye flash kick). So I probably won’t be on much till I get paid on Saturday.

Acually, The 18-2 matches I played against Afro where really close. Just seems our connection is always lagging, its like playing in slow motion. Its tough to get in on his "turtle mode" during lag. I have no problem playing against alwayscharged. We pretty much come out even in matches.

I was going to post something about this after seeing some individuals posting their scores with their opponents. People come off a bit pompous by posting about their own wins like that.

Vintage is also right about the speed thing. I'm so used to Turbo 3 that whenever I play someone at the slower speeds, the matches feel like they take forever and a day. People who think that they are remotely good should start playing at the higher speed settings.

Hope to get a few games in this weekend. I'll be on the lookout for a few of you. ^_^

To be honest, I hardle EVER leave a set that I am playing to meet someone for an invite. Besides, if I am right in the middle of a match I am not gonna stop and see who it is. What makes it worse is that when and if I do check to see who it is and I decide to join 9 times out of 10 the match is no longer available.....so I lose the person I was playing with and I don't find the person that invited me. The only way invites work for me is if someone says "Meet up at such and such time"

You got this set, but damn dude....our connection was piss poor compared to the last time we played. And for the record you should start hosting games on FREE SELECT SPEED 2. Regular speed 2 feels is WAY too damned slow. I would have stuck around longer but once I saw that I was losing more to lag than I was to you I quit. You got this set, and I got the last one. We are even I guess. Losing 6-0 is something that's never happened to me before on XBL and that's even against players such as Dream Theater, DGV and Fox Kids.... so you know something was wrong. You can have these wins :tup: But next time try to make it out to EVO or the next Texas Showdown tournament.

hell with a damn zbattle. you're zoning is bad enough to deal with on Live but its worse with those damn snes sprites. screen is double the space. "some"matches though do have a z feel to them with hardly any noticable lag effects. Others are comparable to a kaillera connection but overall i'd say 80% of my connections are playable which is not a bad % from what i thought it would be like.

Being local does not necessarily mean anything as far as connections are concerned on XBL. I'm about 35 mins away from Afro and our connections are decent at best. Just like there is a noticeable difference between playing you, Shirts, and Calipower. I get a considerably better connection against Calipower than either you or Shirts. Oddly enough, I've had better connections with Dakkmnic (Bay Area) than most of the players I faced in So'Cal. So Afro, know one can say that you are not getting any delay when playing someone within a 40 mile radius of you. Heck, we once thought Shirts was on the East Coast given how bad our connection was.

My brother was referring to Sim's short slide throw and tick throws in general on XBL. Yes, I know the timing and priority of both vary from Snes to Arcade. However, reversing both of those offline on Xbox or PS2 is considerably easier when there is no delay. That is what he meant. It will always be considerably tougher to reverse ticks when there is delay->hence, why tick throws are so effective on XBL. As far as Shirts giving us the most trouble...? That's incorrect. Playing opponents that feature a 2 sec delay is far tougher. At least against Shirts you can block jumpkicks and pokes, but the latter? Nope.

Yes, great set indeed. You opened my eyes on alot of my weaknesses with 'Gief and all my other fighters(especially uppercut characters) and I will be addressing those weaknesses soon. This is gonna be a good summer :)

Maxstah, Yeah, I know what you mean. There's different timing to hit Blanka out of that fierce, But Blanka always gets the proper trade. You're right, it is more of a timing issue,and any type of latency will screw with that. I'm glad I have something against that electricity! All sorts of things you forget when you have not played HF in years. I forgot about those little ball tricks to stand strong, electricity. I hate this game, I'd much rather play ST, but it's all we've got for now! At least I know why I got a loss after that last game! Sorry about running away with Chun so much, that's the only way I can chip at a good Blanka in general....

WDV, the rankings mean shit, it doesn't gauge how good you are, hell, I am SS ranked and I know I don't even deserve it, I think I am more of B or C ranked player. I think you get 3 points per scrub you play, and 30 points, not sure, for the good players. If you played at least 1000 matches, and have a winning percentage of 70% or above, you get a SS rankings, 60% and above, you get S ranking, 50% and above, you get A I think.

I swapped it out and put a square gate in to replace my old octagon gate. So now my Gief should give your DeeJay a much much better fight. Hopefully we can play again later.

That's not the way I saw it. I mean, you persistently counter select my characters, which is fair enough (eventhough you spam slow fireballs with chun-li when i select Gief). You got the first couple of wins, as you noticed I didnt even get a dragon punch out when I selected Ryu. But as soon as I start winning matches you suddenly select C.Guile and go for the throw all the time, knowing that it takes a lot of health away. I don't care about a couple of throws, but especially selecting C.Guile to get throws in after I start winning matches seem lame to me. Maybe that was not what you intended to do but it seemed that way at the time, and I couldn't be arsed playing like that.
Good games nonetheless - perhaps we'll have a better session later on - I'll playing a lot this week anyway with the exception of wednesday.

Gotcha, thanks for the explanation, i promise you i never counter select characters because i can only play properly with 3/4 at most and it was never intended like you said it... i always start with chunners and then slowly work my way onto guile (as you know my fav player), sometimes play with super guile, sometimes with c.e. (again my fav. version and not just bec it takes a lot of health off!), but i will bear in mind when we next play...re you're gief, i thought the whole point was to keep these type of characters at bay which is what i was trying to do...play you again original don, you're much improved since we last played and can play with more characters than i can! :tup:

I have a quesiton: Who was I playing against? Dark Gaiden or Vintage?

GGs indeed Afro. Don't worry about leaving, I was starting to get a little tired myself (I was watching Vintage play the last 15+ battles). I played the first 35 or 37 battles, then Vin took over. As for indications on whose playing at moment; well our shotos are pretty similiar. If you ever see a charge char selected, then it's usually me playing 90% of the time (I chose DJ 3 times against you). DJ vs DJ is pretty fun. I'm starting to pick up Sim. Although I won the battles with Sim vs your Chun, my bro definitely has a better Super/O.Sim than me. He just needs to fall out of the snes zoning/spacing mentality with Sim, because his sim is nasty :karate:

As for the fireball zoning thing, thx for the props...we're getting better with it on CPS. Still tend to fall into the non-CPS sprite size comfort zone, which gets us in trouble...I'm like, "DJ's kick can't reach me from that distance" :razzy:

Your Sim is too hard to beat with my DeeJay because every time I jump in I always get short slide and thrown, and if I jump you kick me, playing against your Sim is pretty frustrating, you definitely won the battles with your Sim vs my Chun but I want to continue it next time we play, I love chess matches, and I want to find a way to beat your Sim. Your DeeJay is nasty as well, maybe you can teach me a thing or two, haha; I love the fundamentals. You guys are VERY well-rounded, I was very impressed. Our connection was excellent as well, I notice that at nonpeak hours, my connections are usually better, me and Jumpsuit had a 150+ game set like at 4-5 am, and the connection was excellent. :sad: :sad: well my converter will only let me play with two of my crap pads and even then people get free jump ins at me(slow sonic boom grab :confused: i always dragon that IRL but a crap pad and odd converter its 50 50). when you jumped with chun li i went for DP but converter or pad said nah. your chunli is good but your super guile is now rock :xeye: and he aint as hard as ce guile :tup:

even though i reckon im playing at about 80% you gave me a beating of sorts :clap: on the re-match screen i was plugging and unplugging pads and me converter lol. i ordered a magic box converter so i should be at my best since i can then use my good pad whoopeeee!

i'm sure you're right V, i've played endy22 on several occasions and he is class not only with ryu but also with others such as t-hawk etc. i would never think you would quit live in the middle of the game and even if you do at the end of a game you've got all the rights to do so...if you're ryu isn't getting a challenge then he needs to move on...looking for greater challenges (god that reminds me of something...nah...its not coming...). If we could play on a non-Dee Jay stage I think you'd get at least a better game from me. I'm not saying it will change the outcome at all, but at least the connection won't be quite as choppy. We can also try and play in non-peak hours. I usually play between 9-12pm CST give or take a few hours. Correct me if I'm wrong, the player that has been invited to the match has home-field advantage, right? 2. what pad are you using by the way? i did try the magic box convertor works a treat BUT the recommended pad on SRK was the saturn one but its only good for ken/ryu players and NOT good for chunners / guile :sad:

ok long story cut short, i gots me 3 ps1 first gen pads lets call them pad a,b,c. pad a i used for alpha 1-3,marvel sh, xmen vs, tekkens and darkstalkers plus any othr beatem up on the ps1. pad b my friend used to challenge me on all those games and pad c was a spare.

they are all offical branded ps1 pads and all work with ps2.

pad a dont work with my converter at all on xbox no jumps,kicks etc. Pad b feels odd to me and is not worked in as much as pad A plus i tend to jump alot instead of oing DPs. pad c works fine but feels new as we never touched it and is b
