I had a slight feeling in some matches that someone else was playing for him as Villan's not as good as getting dragons out on 2 player side as he is on 1, and yet in some matches he would easily get them out on 2 player side. Sorry i left so soon but i had net practice so had to leave.

AS for the whole "zoning" thing, Maxstah is right, if this was Arcade setting, I can understand it with the quality of play from accurate moves coming out when you want them to (i.e) response. Online, you have to guess when to jump over everything regardless of the connection, so spamming and running away becomes uber popular....people can play however they want, but you're going to come across people that will not want to play the same bs over and over again.

i think i know what my biggest gripe is . Using HF blanka of course low fierce is a monster of a normal move well nothing i can't stand more then having some dp spazzing HF ken player doing back to back to back dp's and i can't even time a low fierce in between without getting hit. I see him start the whiffing dp i hit fierce but that damn delay is just enough usually where by time i hit fierce on reaction his 2nd dp is already comin out.PAIN IN DA ASS!
Wilson yea as far as space/zoning goes it does fustrate me on live cuz of the fact i can't play it like arcade. yer right alot more Parry'esque type things go on where u need to anticipate rather then being able to reley on reaction(crouch last sec dp's ect.) With blanka a great part of his game is being able to advance right about a character legnth away or so , so he can jump straight up and down with rh which is basically a decent overhead for him and is quick enough to do and stay out of range of flash kicks ect. which gets guile/dj's off their down charge so blanka can then pressure with his Blankneto array of jumping normals. but usually on my way to getting to that spacing i've eaten 2 fb's while trying to advance TO that space and i'm dizzy awaiting a 60% combo to finish me off lol.

Well, then I guess you probably wont be joining our(DG & myself) games then :P We live for matches like that because it's the ultimate game of zoning. You'll never see us pull out a huge combo. That has never been our style. We're more of the, "break his spirit until he folds" kind of players :wgrin:
Funny thing is, our idea of a great match is one that features barely anything but chip damage, both players being constantly aware of their positioning, and in the end resulting in a time over. Now, THOSE matches, are priceless :cool:

you were turtling the whole time in the first round, which is why you got perfect against me. I was the one moving forward the whole time and by moving forward the whole round, I mean pushing the stick forward, not roundhouse sliding. True that I was turtling, but only cuz you were countering all my moves, so I had to change in strategy. If you care that much about the rank whoring, challege me and I'll let you win two perfect matches, deal?

@ the don 786, would have played you more but after that first round in the dee jay v honda match the lag got a bit much for me, i swear that at the start of the second round i saw raw coding or a big glitch. If you want to play dee jay againdt me let me host so that we wont play on his stage cause there is always slight lag on his stage probably cause there's alot going on in the back ground.....peace

@ Good Times, never played you before and its the first time i seen a SS player solely use champion bison (which aint that fun). Once you learn to crack a turtles shell you will create opportunities to make some of that sweet turtle soup du jour!

You will find that most turtles fall apart once you break them. Zoners and turtles just have a very tough system to break but when it does break the win is that much sweeter.

That's what makes SF2 such a great game...there are players in all parts of the rushdows/turtle spectrum....

So try not to complain that much. Yes it may be boring, but dont think of it as playing to beat the other guy.....think of it as a personal challenge. Like figuring out a rubix cube in 3 rounds :)

Steve, I've played against Lancer before, and you're right, his DeeJay is very reminiscent of mine. I actually beat his DeeJay, and he PM'd me for some tips and combos. How was it like playing against him, he tells me he's getting more comfortable. Watch out for his Gief as well, once he gets you stuck in corner, it's hard to get out.

Me and afro traded some dee jay tips for some ryu tips. Yeah, my Gief isn't too great yet, i just picked up ST Ken and Gief cuz I saw some crazy guys online using them, guys like jumpsuit. I'm working on it though. In high level play, there's not much 'Gief can do against Sim.

It's a guessing game. Once (and it's not hard) Sim gets any kind of distance, it's a good 90/10 match. Gief has one shot at winning that round and it all depends on what happens at the beginning of the match.

Yeah, that's him. SF on XBL is a different story, however. Minute lag changes everything. Sim has major problems online against Honda. Offline, Sim can usually pull it out vs. Honda.

Sup illshill, GG's man. Yeah, i'm trying to work on ken but your honda gives my ryu trouble as well. It's a lot harder to foot sweep with ken than ryu because ken has that stupid kick that comes out. For some reason, i coudln't uppercut with ken today or grab anybody with gief. My execution was pretty off today...but i think you got better as well..getting a lot better with the tick uchio and more aggressive with Honda. I'm not that great with ken, but i like playing different guys, i know i'm never gonna be playin in any tourneys or anything..so this is all for fun. Just killin a little time until my injury heals up and i can get back to the gym :karate: Always a pleasure trying to escape the stored uchio :tup:

Further 'good' games to: Savalas. Man, you make dropping an art. I can feel the hate when you drop:

- when the progress bar is moving for the connection at the start
- at the character selection screen
- at the end of the first round
- at the end of both rounds

- Pulpasis/Rib/Veltihbits, no worries man, I figured you were knocked out after I came back. You gotta try some beer: Wieckse Witte. It is seriously good, and does not give you a hangover. There are few things you gotta check though: It must be chilled properly, it has to be kept at 0 degrees celcius. Before drinking I put the bottle in the freezer for like 40 minutes. It's the perfect break between games and whilst playing.

Demon Grim is on my friends list and when we do play we get a good couple of matches in. On average, he beats me down and out of 20 matches I will be lucky if I get 5 wins. I don't mind because he is fun to play against. My mate from Dam has Demon on his FL as well and enjoys playing him and talks to me about him. You ain't got SHIT on a player like him.
I don't play Decoy often, I think I played him 3 times but the games were fun and definately worth playing. Again, you ain't got SHIT on him either.

The only othe characters i know that could of put pressure on him was gief ( but i cant spd to well) or champ bison and i would of just spammed phsycho crusher all day without combos just cross ups (we both know thats a pain and boring to fight against on live plus its NO FUN). Your guile is good but not a patch on your hyper blanka, i did not want a guile mirror match as i hate mirror matches with charging character( i always lose?)

You could have kept playing Honda and Gief and I wouldn't have minded. I know Gief vs Blanka very well. It's a bad matchup for Blanka but I have a few tricks for Gief. :wgrin: Same with Honda. I've been fighting that battle for 12 years lol.

IMO, I think sticking to one character and mastering him is definately an advantage over a player that is a jack of all trades, master of none. That way, even in bad matchup situations, you're comfortable enough in your characters abilities to edge out a win when you should have lost.

Just so you know, I've never entered any competitions or had much local competition where I'm from. I too play for fun but I consider playing mostly Blanka fun. :smile:

I'd like to play you again but my account will be deactivated today. So no more Live for me. :sad: I will recommend you play some of the other Blanka players that I've faced that are very good. Maxstah and Real Decoy. I would say that the 3 of us are evenly matched when it comes to Blanka play.

most people on here seem to have one character as a "fav" and specialise with them i think i might have to start diong that but i have the curse of the AVERAGE sf2 gamer in that i only play for fun so i do not use sticks, do not enter or care about competitions and i do not play that often ( if you look at my record and games played since i have beeen playing on live since October 04)which is too bad.

It's not so much Im a Ryu lover, just to me he's a very fun character to play and I try to learn him. I trust my Sagat and Vega much more then my Ryu...I just keep picking him cause I wanna learn him and to me he's very fun to play.
