It's weird, usually i have some kind of strange lag/desync with other genei gin Yun player but not with you. The connection was smooth even during the genei gin time.

Ufff, sorry for some crappy games where I just kept getting hit insisting on something that wouldn't work, or picking random Ryu and scrubbing out, but between GGXX, the ressurection of SC2 and pad-stick transition I ran out of RAM for 3S, so I needed some matches just to understand what's going on. Just wanted to apologise for some short, half assed games (most of which ended with me standing still waiting for you to take the win). I just put a new stick in and it needed a load of tuning. I couldn't even fireball when facing right, let alone super!

All fixed now and ready to go!

Oh, ok. Just to answer your question though, I wasn't referring to the last match with Ryu when I said you appeared to resort to this tactic when losing. You had lost a couple of matches previously with Urien and another character (great close games I might add) and then you choose Ryu. This is when you came out constantly with the lk > throw tactic. The pattern became obvious and (in this instance) I managed to beat you. Then, on the last match we played, you returned with Ryu and started the game with lk > throw repeat. I just found it boring and said I was going to leave. On reflection, I should stayed and let you take the win. Sorry bout that.

Don't get me wrong, we play a lot, we get on, and we have a laugh playing. You're good competition. + People can play anyway they want, no one person can tell you how to play and why should they be able to? But because we play often I just wanted to let you know that for me specifically that tactic annoys/ bores me. Especially when you have the skill to mix it up by the lorry load! :karate:

indeed mirror matches are lame, but for 3s I can tolerate most (Remy/Remy does sound lame tho). Yeah at points it was playable but the delay kept switching. Like one part of the round it would be good then it would go bad out of nowhere. It was kinda hard to adjust to.

I'm wonderin cause me and you had a solid connection. Though not 'lag free', and I noticed some slight pauses here and there, it was solid enough to actually formulate a stategy and have fast gameplay. gg's btw.

Do you always get connections like that? Do you get connections that are better than that, and if so how often? You live in the US right?

I'm askin all these questions cause I'm still trying to figure out this whole lag thing. I want to know if its me, the other person, all the overseas matches, or just the game.

I recently upgraded my connection to 3.0 mbps download and 160k upload. I know the 160k upload is weak, but it should theoretically be more than enough for a relatively lag free game of street fighter with one other person directly connected..

Alright one last question and this goes out to everyone who reads this. People say they get 'offline quality' connections and whatever, some people say they get lag and others say the same game wasn't laggy...so what I think is that there is like a partial miscommunication because one persons definition of 'offline quality' or 'bad lag' differs from another.

You guys are familiar with the DC version of SF3 right? Well, it's been pretty well documented that that game has 'input lag'.
Online games in theory will always have 'some' lag no matter what, even if its .01 seconds or whatever.

Anyways, what I'm getting at is this. Has anyone had an online connection that was as good as offline Third Strike for the DC?

gg but the connection was garbage to me.

you got so lucky at times I wanted to drop. There was always some type of lag spike while I was doing a combo that it cost me the game. Dudley juggle then reset overhead.... lag spike.... u super u win.

GG's to you too. If I remember correctly you beat me 6 or 7 games in a row and as soon as I beat you 2 games in a row it must have got boring for you and you had to leave. I will always play Ken against anyone I consider decent comp, I mess around with different characters from time to time but yes 9 out of 10 matches I will play with ken. Next time stick around longer if I start beating you dont just stay in sets you mostly win. Catch you soon bud. :tup:

I gotta agree Shimmy. I for one have a hatred for the "throw fighter" playing style. But at the end of the day it's in the game, it's just one person's interpretation of how to play it. Turtling, rushing etc is the same thing. You just gotta live with it and adapt/ counter it. That's why this game is so amazing!

I also think Urien SA2 is quite a nice Super. Stun damage is one of it's virtues: c.HP, ex Headbutt, mk Chariot xx SA2 Ouch!

I was getting lag mate, and the jumps were failed chicken combos with Oro :(...and when i was Alex i was trying to bait your chunli to do somthing silly when jumping towards you but got hit by her HP. I got a bit annoyed that i couldnt do nothing against chun with Alex in lag so i left early. :sad: Regardless of that, i still got beats. :xeye:

I'm having a hard time with my stick as well. Although, I must say that I enjoy it more than the pad. BUT, as you probably noticed a million times, I've got a problem doing the SAs exactly when I want to do them. For example when I had you in the corner with Urien... no reflector :)

EDIT: And I use the ball instead of the stones, simply because it's alot more fun, and you can do unblockables with it! I haven't got the feel for his juggling game either.

I've seen people try that before at the arcade, but I din't even think that was possible unless it was done by a computer, but you did it on XBL in front of my eyes! Respect is due :rock:
